Spoiler TV: ONCE Upon A Time Finale Podcast... and Zombies!

Hello, Oncers!

I had the pleasure of being asked by the awesome guys over at Spoiler TV (@SpoilerTV)  to sit in with them and discuss the ONCE Upon A Time season finale.  It was great to chat about the finale and tons of fun for me to jump once again into the podcast universe with my dear friends Anil (one of my two partners) of The ODI LOST Podcast (@TheODI) and CJ (@cjsonic) of Spoiler TV.

Not only did we discuss the magical ONCE Upon A Time finale, but we also dove into a debate about surviving a Zombie Apocalypse.  Good fun!  Plus Anil and I mention our plans to rejoin with our The ODI LOST Podcast partner, Danny, to give LOST fans a very special 10 year reunion podcast.

Here is the link for you to listen to this podcast: STV Podcast 73 - "What would you do in a zombie Apocalypse discussion, Once upon a time and more"

I can't thank the guys enough for the opportunity to hang out with them and discuss a couple of great TV shows.

More Islanders Cross the Bridge

This hat reminds me of the Sorting Hat from Hogwarts in Harry Potter's world.
If you know anything about me you know that I am a huge fan of ONCE Upon A Time... and of course, my constant, LOST.  Sunday can't get here fast enough as I'm anxiously awaiting the return of ONCE Upon A Time! I'm also thrilled to see the bridge that connects LOST to ONCE Upon A Time is being well traveled. I consider the "Island" is neighbor to Storybrooke and the many magical and mysterious lands of ONCE Upon A Time. More and more LOST alumni are making their way over to the adventurous fairy tale.

Two such alumni include the lovely Rebecca Mader and awesome Eric Lange.  Both have scored roles on the beloved abc TV show, ONCE Upon A Time. LOSTies will remember both Mader and Lange's LOST characters are shown to exist in more than one "phase" of the "Island's" reality, and with variations in each one's stories. They do however share a past living with/in the DHARMA Initiative.

Rebecca Mader’s role on LOST was as the Geronimo Jackson loving anthropologist – archaeologist, Charlotte Staples Lewis; whom fell victim to the side effects of temporal displacement. Mader’s witchy ONCE character will have history with the Evil Queen Regina, and we hear that this green skinned character will be wicked! I can't wait to see where this OZ influenced journey brings us.
Eric Lange's LOST character was famed Stuart Radzinsky. Radzinsky was a member of the DHARMA Initiative and worked at the Flame Station; we see him crafting a model of the Swan Station in 1977. Radzinsky also served as hatch partner to Kelvin Inman in the Swan Station. Lange's ONCE role is as young Prince Leopold, Snow White's loving father. I'm very excited to see him in this new role.

Kitsis Welcomes Naveen Andrews Back to the Island

Hi there, Losties!

San Diego Comic Con 2013 was all a buzz with the awesome news that another castaway from our beloved LOST Island will visit the magical realms of ONCE Upon A Time - more specifically, Once Upon A Time in Wonderland. The secret was uncovered with a glorious reveal! Naveen Andrews, who played the role of scary, yet loving, communications officer and torturer (as well as tortured), Sayid Hassan Jarrah, is cast as Jafar.
That's right, Losties, Eddy Kitsis lovingly and literally welcomes Naveen back to the Island. It's a beautiful thing. I can't even tell you how excited I am about this casting news!  I can only imagine where this trip down the rabbit hole will lead us. But no matter where it leads... I am totally along for the ride. This new journey looks to be a fantastic spellbinding and intoxicating adventure.
There are so many wonderful news tid-bits that were shared for both ONCE Upon A Time and Once Upon A Time in Wonderland at this year's Comic Con. The brilliant Kitsis-Horowitz boys and their awesome creative teams are weaving their tales and spinning their straw into gold, with aspirations of delivering more magic to those of us who love finding hope, dreams, and ourselves, in the wonderment of a fairy tale.

Here's great footage from the awesome surprise reveal. Enjoy!

Damon and Carlton in Storybrooke

There were many LOST references in the Once Upon A Time episode titled "Tiny."
Here is a clip of Damon and Carlton in Storybrooke- where they mention the LOST episode "Expose" and it's show within that episode titled "Expose."  Expose is referenced in a few other LOST episodes as well.

Tick-Tock

It's about time I post a bit about Zero Hour, a new show that premieres Thursday, February 14th at 8|7c on ABC.

You know how much I love a great mystery and how I get excited at the thought of solving puzzles, learning and uncovering the truth and Zero Hour seems to cover those bases.  But in all honesty, it's when they posted a few classic Modern Skeptic magazine covers that really perked me up.  The covers hint to a few familiar myths, things not being what one may assume and that there's more (or less) going on than meets the eye; things that require further investigation and have yet to be explained. The covers incorporate various unique ABC TV shows as the topic of interest, which is very clever and cool, but one cover they included connects us to our beloved LOST and the "Island" - a show that's been off the air since May 23, 2010.  And of course I totally love the fantastic ONCE Upon A Time cover and the questioning of portals. Both LOST and ONCE Upon A Time involve, time, different realities/other worlds, portals and share many more connections.

IMDB lists Ken Leung (LOST's Miles Straume) in a starring role, but he doesn't show up on ABC's cast list from what I've seen.

Needless to say I will give Zero Hour some time and see where it leads.

The premise of Zero Hour
As the publisher of Modern Skeptic magazine, Hank spent his career following clues, debunking myths and solving conspiracies. But when his beautiful young wife is abducted from her store, an antique clock shop, Hank gets pulled into one of the most compelling mysteries of human history, stretching around the world and back centuries. To find his wife, Hank will have to unravel one of the greatest conspiracies of all time. Contained in one of his wife’s clocks is a treasure map, and what it leads to could be cataclysmic.  Hank will race against the clock, to find his wife and save humanity.

Looking back at a classic cover of Modern Skeptic magazine!

An Important Announcement from LOST University

Hello, fellow LU Polar Bears,

On January 14th, 2013, I, as well as all students and alumni from the prestigious LOST University received a very sad letter from the Board of Regents. I never thought we'd receive such a letter, but alas here it is.

I had high hopes to one day return to LU and further my education and finally graduate with a PhD; a Doctorate in LOST Studies. I plan to continue my LOST studies and I even dream of partaking in extensive yet adventurous field research, but the how, where's and when have yet to be determined.

I wish my fellow Polar Bears continued success, and I hope our paths cross again as we go through this thing called life. Although LU is closing its doors, it's our constant love of all things LOST and our passion and commitment to having LOST be a part of our lives that remains and keeps us going and growing.

I am positive we'll still have our many LU reunions to enjoy, and of course, the lifelong friendships we have made make life infinitely sweeter.

This isn't really an end... it is a new beginning and a chance for us to discover new ways to continue our LOST education.

LU, you will always be in my heart.

Here is the official Email:

Dear LOST University Students and Alumni,

We have traveled through time together taking us to the end of your experience at LOST University. Due to budgetary restrictions, the cost of living and other variables, the Board of Regents has regretfully had to shut the doors on this prestigious academic institution on January 31, 2013. While LOST University will cease to exist as a physical institution, we strongly encourage you to continue on your journey of knowledge and human understanding. Whatever happened during your time here happened, and we hope that the memories we created together will live forever in your hearts and beyond.

If you have any other questions, please call us at 800-477-2811 Mondays 9:30am – 7:30pm, and Tuesdays – Fridays 9:30am – 6:30pm, Central Time.

Namaste

Damon Lindelof on Talking Dead

Bet you didn't know that I'm a huge fan of The Walking Dead on AMC. I enjoy this zombie tale for more than just the zombies and the realistic zombie kills- this fantastic, intense and moving story shows us the struggles and challenges of the survivors. It's a pretty deep character driven story- and I love that! While some complained about season 2 being more about "the people" on the farm than the zombies, I reveled in the down and dirty nitty-gritty truth, fear, courage, morals and flaws of the survivors.

Following every episode of The Walking Dead there is a fun and insightful live after-show hosted by Chris Hardwick (@nerdist, G-4) called Talking Dead.  Chris discusses each episode with awesome special guests, writers, producers, cast and crew of The Walking Dead. It's a really good time.

For The Walking Dead's mid-season 3 finale (episode 8 titled "Made to Suffer") Talking Dead's, Chris, chatted with creator and writer of The Walking Dead comics and TV series, Robert Kirkman and The Walking Dead fan, Damon Lindelof; of my personal favorite show of all time, LOST.

Here's the bonus footage from that episode. Chris brings some LOSTness to the interview- which is always a LOSTastic bonus for me.

Enjoy!
Bonus Talking Dead Footage : With Damon Lindelof and Robert Kirkman

The Walking Dead and Talking Dead returns to AMC on Sunday February 10th, 2013... And yes, folks, we'll all still be here. The world isn't going to end just because the Mayan's forgot to buy a new calendar. But be ready for zombies!
