Do No Harm.

Let's talk about LOST!    Do No Harm.

“Come on! Outta the way!” yells Jack.

In the caves the, group is moving badly injured Boone. There’s a bit of commotion. We hear things like, “Fell down a cliff” and “He was with Locke” and “He’s bleeding a lot”.
Kate is pressing on Boone’s chest. {over his heart} Jack needs Boone kept steady; slow and gentle. Boone’s leg is bad. Jack needs Kate to press harder on Boone; she is trying. {Note: we hear a loud heartbeat.}
Boone is having hard time breathing.
Jack calls to Sun to get him a pair of scissors from the second drawer in the cart.
Jack mentions there are diapers in the first drawer.
Kate is helping but Jack informs her “Sun’s gonna switch places with you.”
He calls for Sun, “I need...”
Sun- “Yes. I understand.”
Jack directs Hurley, who looks a bit in shock and queasy to grab me that first class seat from up there, also, I need that mesh. We need to create some kind of sterile...Hurley, I swear to god, if you faint...“
Hurley- “No...first class, mesh. I'm cool. Lord in heaven.”
Jack tells Kate to “Get to the beach. Ransack Sawyer's stuff. I want his alcoholrubbing, scotch.”
Boone's lung collapses. Jack pours peroxide on Boone’s chest and takes a very long “needle” {It friggin looks like an antenna} and plunges it into Boone’s lung.

Kate is shocked by what she just saw.
Jack assures Boone- “Good job. Gonna put a tube in that and you’re gonna be just fine.”
Hurried Jack asks Kate what she is still doing here, “The alcohol, Kate! If you want him to live get to the beach, now!”
Boone is struggling to get air.
Jack works on him with the tube.
Jack exhales strongly...
{Flash Whoosh}

Jack is tying Silverman’s black bow tie.
They joke about clip on ties and real ties. Jack asks Silverman if he’s nervous. Silverman wonders what he has to be nervous about. Jack feels it’s a big responsibility, which Silverman feels he can handle.
Jack- “Maybe. But I know that you don't like to get up in front of crowds.”
Marc feels he’ll be fine...after about eight beers.
Jack- “She'll bust you, man.”
Silverman- “I'll brush my teeth.”
Jack- “She'll bust you. {They turn and look into the mirror.} You can still back out, Marc.”
Marc-“Nah, it's just a stupid speech. I'll make you proud.”
The tailor comes out carrying another tuxedo.
Tailor- “Okay, groom's turn.”
Marc- “You can still back out, Jack.”
{Flash Whoosh}
Jack is ripping Boone's pants to get to check out his leg.   Jack determines it’s a closed fracture; he thinks he can set it.
Sun asks Jack if he can sew Boone’s chest wound.
Jack notes he's lost a lot of blood and wonders how far Locke had to carry him. Boone says I'm going to die.
Jack-“Boone, listen to me. Listen! You are not going to die. I'm going to fix this, okay? I am going to save you.

Claire walks on the beach. Jin works on the raft while Sawyer, Michael and Walt cook fish over an open fire. Collarless Vincent is there too.
Michael teaches Walt to flip em or they’ll burn.
Sawyer asks Mamacita if she wants any fish.
Claire declines as she’s not really hungry. {A pregnant woman not really hungry, what’s that about?} She then asks how long you think till it’s ready. {She looks over to Jin working on the raft with the ax.}
Michael answers “Maybe a week, maybe less. You okay?”
Claire’s fine; she’ll see them later.
Sawyer smiles- “She likes me.”
Michael calls over to Jin and tells him to take a break and eat some fish.
Jin waves him off.
Sawyer feels that man's got what he calls an overzealous work ethic.
Michael- “Try obsession. He wants off this Island bad, man.”
Sawyer- “Can't say I blame poor Kato. His lady speaks English all this time and he didn't have a clue? I'm surprised he didn't try to swim out of here. Hell, I would've...”
Kate runs up to Sawyer and tells him she needs all of his alcohol. Now!

Sawyer opens a suitcase, unwraps a towel that hides all forms of liquid alcohol. Kate relays the Locke said he fell off a cliff while they were out hunting boar.
Sawyer- “Boar they never seem to get.”
Sawyer packs her bag full of the bottles.
Kate- “Is that it?”
Sawyer-“Afraid so. You need anything else? I could come with you.”

Kate-“Too many cooks already, but thanks.”
She takes off running.

Jack is sewing up Boone’s chest while Boone is still wheezing and mumbling “I'm sorry.”
Jack determines he needs blood; a blood transfusion.
Sun wonders how he’s going to do that. Jack doesn’t know but he’ll figure it out after he sets the leg. Stressed Jack takes out a bottle of peroxide and nurse Sun relieves him of that task, “Let me. Get some air.”
Charlie asks Jack “How is he?” Jack doesn’t know yet.
Charlie- “What happened out there? Where's Locke? Do you think that...“
Jack doesn’t know.
Charlie questions, “What, he just took off?“
He asks where Shannon is.
Jack doesn’t know. They walk toward the waterfall.
Charlie- “Well, she's his sister. You don't “
Jack- “I don't know where she is! “
{Flash Whoosh}
“And here she is…the future Mrs. Jack Shephard.”
Marc introduces and toasts Sarah.
Sarah takes the mic- “Thank you. Wow, can I get another microphone? I think this one's been drinking. A little over two years ago, I blew a tire out...flipped over the center divider into oncoming traffic, and was hit head-on by an SUV.   My back was broken. They all said it was irreparable. And then there was Jack. And he promised he would fix me. Because that's the kind of guy he is. Because you are the most committed man I have ever known. Because you fixed me… I will dance at our wedding. To Jack, my hero, Jack."

Jack is examining Boone's leg. Sun enters holding a small stick for Boone.
Jack feels they're beyond herbal remedies but she shows him it's a stick for him to bite on {Looks like a horse bit.}
Sun holds Boone's shoulders and Jack pulls on the leg.   Boone screams out in great pain. Hurley is nearby and plugs his ears from the scream.

Kate is running through the jungle to get back to the caves. She trips and falls, landing on the bottles; breaking a few of them. {Not all of them.} Kate hears something in the jungle and comes upon Claire; in labor.
Claire wants to be left alone.
Kate-"You're having the baby."
Claire says she's fine; she just needs to catch her breath.
Kate insists she's having her baby.
Claire-"No it's not. It's just gas pains. It's fine."     She is adamant she is not having bloody contractions!
Kate wants to get Claire to Jack; she calls out for help.

Jin, who is working on the raft with the ax, hears a call for help. He looks around the beach camp and there's no one there!
Jin runs into the jungle to investigate. He stops and listens to a voice in the distance..."Please help!"
He takes off running and comes upon Kate and Claire.
Kate sends him to retrieve Jack-Doctor from the caves.
Claire doesn't want Kate to leave her. Kate promises she won't leave "honey".
Kate gives Jin the backpack with the alcohol to take with him.

"Ask him again." Jack knows Boone is in shock but he needs Sun to ask Boone the question again. Jack is sharpening a stick into aneedle.
Sun-"Boone. Can you hear me? What is your blood type?"
Jack is frustrated that his crafted stick won't penetrate his skin. He explains to Sun veins are like wet noodles, first you have to find one then you have to have a hallow needle sharp enough to pierce it, "I've got bamboo!"
Jack decides none of it actually matters because he doesn't know Boone's blood type or that his injuries... Boone cuts him off, "A negative."
Jack-"Boone. What did you say?"
Boone-"Shannon...the plane."
Jack needs Sun to get Charlie.
"Ask everyone you can find, everyone, what their blood type is. A negative, okay?...And find his sister. Find Shannon."

Shannon and Sayid are walking together.
Shannon-"Where are we going?"
Sayid-"This way."
Shannon-"Are you lost?"
Sayid-"No, absolutely not. Those trees look really familiar. It's this way... I think."
Shannon seems nervous, "Did you just say I think?"
Sayid leads her to a surprise; a beautiful romantic set up of fruit, flowers and water.

In the caves Charlie tells frustrated Jack, “I found an A.”
Jack- “Positive or negative?”
Charlie says she doesn’t know but he also found two B positives and one AB negative, “At least he thinks so.”
Jack-“Did you find any O negative?”
Charlie- “Sun said A negative!”
Jack wonders where Sun is and Charlie shares they split up and he thought she’d be back here. Charlie also tells Jack he asked the whole sodding camp what their blood types are and nobody knows what theirs is. Charlie doesn’t even know his own bloody blood type.

Sun enters with a cooler; she didn’t find Shannon but she found something for Jack. She shows him a spiny sea thingy and breaks off one of the spiny things, “A hollow needle sharp enough to pierce a noodle.”
Jack thinks it’s perfect.
Charlie- “Not to rain on your proverbial parade but I thought you said we needed someone who was A negative.”

Jack-“Or O negative.”
Charlie-“Right, which judging by your tantrum, no one is.”
Jack- “Someone is.”
Charlie-“You?! Why'd you make...”
Jack-“O negative is universal donor. It's in the ballpark, it's not a match. My blood could put him into anaphylactic shock...stop his heart.”
Charlie- “You mean he'll die?”
Jack-“He's not going to die.”
Jack preps the tube and needle.
{Flash Whoosh}
Jack plays the piano in the hotel lobby. He is drinking. Sarah comes down in her pj’s. {Number 44 on front left side of shirt.} She lets him know two girls are checking him out; one’s kinda cute, the other one is trashy. The couple plays the song Heart & Soul with Sarah taking the easy part of course.
Sarah-“You know you really don't have to do this if you don't want to.”
Jack asks how she knows he hasn’t. Sarah knows he hasn’t. She hits wrong notes, “Oh, sorry. It was a silly idea. I just...I read too many bridal magazines. I think it rotted my brain.”
Jack wants to and is going to; he just has to figure out the right way to say it.
Sarah-“They’re just vows.”
Jack-“Just vows?”
He notes a taxi pull up and a woman gets out.
Sarah- “Hey. He’s going to come.”
Jack knows.
Sarah- “So, you stay down here as long as you need to. And when you're I’ll be...upstairs.” She cannot wait to marry him, “Jack Shephard.”
Sarah gets up and walks away. {Huge number 44 on her back}

“Jack! Jack!” {Flash Whoosh}
Jin asks Hurley for “Jack! Doctor!"
Hurley points him in the direction of Jack.
Jin enters the treatment area and sees Sun and Jack transfusing his blood to Boone.
Jin speaks Korean to Jack. Sun translates that Claire is with Kate and she’s in labor. Mind you Jin seems annoyed Sun is the translator. Claire’s contractions are coming every two minutes; she’s okay but in pain.
Jack asks a list of questions to Sun to translate: Is she nauseous? Can she stand? Is there any bleeding? Did her water break?
Sun translates-“No, none of that, but she can't move.”
Charlie says they should go, “What do we need? Towels, bandages, hot water? How do we take hot water?”
Jack, who is literally being drained, is sure he’ll figure it out. He wants Sun to tell Jin to take Charlie with him and go back to Claire. Charlie wants to know how to look out for that dilating thing.
Jack is getting a bit woozy- “Charlie, listen to me. Okay, Charlie, look at me. Tell Kate to wait until the contractions are 60 seconds apart, you got that?   Now, she's going to need to make sure that Claire pushes, but not too hard, not too fast, just until the head is clear.   And then, as hard as she can. When the baby is out make sure she clears its nose and its mouth.
Charlie-“Yeah, but, you'll be there by then, right?”
Jack needs to stay there, “Now, you tell Kate she's going to have to deliver this baby.”

It is getting dark in the jungle. Claire tells Kate, “They’ve stopped.”
Kate, who is sitting by the fire, thinks that happens.
Claire is happy they’re not coming anymore and insists she’s fine. Claire stands up and wonders “What is that?”
Kate thinks her water just broke.
Claire freaks, “I can’t have the baby now.”
Kate encourages her to hold on because Jack is coming.

Jack is still giving Boone blood. He puts his head very close to Boone’s mouth to listen. {For breathing or words?} Jack walks away then Boone speaks! He knows he screwed himself up pretty bad; his leg hurts. Jack doesn’t want him to move and asks if he can breathe okay. Boone reveals that a plane fell on him when he was out with Locke.
Jack-“Locke said you fell from a cliff.
Boone clarifies “It fell...the plane. It’s because of the hatch. We found a hatch.”
Boone tries to stay conscious, “Locke said... John said, John said not to tell. About the hatch.”
Jack-“What did Locke do? What hatch? What...”
Boone complains his leg hurts and appears to pass out; then whispers, “Shannon. Shannon. Shannon.”

Shannon and Sayid are making out on the beach. Shannon decides she needs to come clean about a few things and reveals some things to Sayid.
Shannon-“My brother, Boone. He's not really my brother. He's my step-brother. Our parents got married when we were like 8 and 10. He's kind of in love with me.”
Sayid- “In love with you? And how do you feel towards him?”
Shannon-“I'll always feel something for him. But am I in love with him in that way? No. Not at all. We're here for god knows how long...and so is Boone.”
Sayid suggests maybe they should go back but Shannon doesn’t want to go back. She wants to take it slow. Sayid’s okay with that; he had hopes but no expectations.

Claire is in pain. Jin and Charlie show up. Charlie informs Kate Jack couldn’t come because he’s pouring his own blood into Boone’s arm right now. Kate wants to take Claire to Jack before it’s too late. Jin motions for them to be quiet.
Charlie tells Kate she has to deliver the baby; Jack talked Charlie through it; it's relatively simple. Kate feels she can’t do this; actually she’s adamant she can’t deliver this baby.
Charlie-“Well somebody has too.”
Jin calmly speaks to Claire in Korean.
Claire tells him-“You know I was out there for over a week…days I can't remember. I mean, what if, what if they did something to the baby? I'm not ready for this. I'm not... I'm so scared. I'm scared.”
Kate walks up behind Claire and tells her, “I'm, I'm scared too. But we're going to get through this together. Okay?”

Drained and woozy Jack checks out Boone’s closed eyes. {Opens the lids}
Sun walks in, checks out Boone and declares “It’s not working.”
Jack-“The blood's not the problem. It's the leg. All the blood's pooling there. Compartment syndrome. He didn't get this injury from a fall. Something crushed his leg.”
Sun rips the transfusion tube out of Jack’s arm, “You've given him enough.”
Jack walks out and calls out to Hurley. {Does he have diapers?}
Hurley asks if he’s okay, “You're looking kind of Goth.”
Jack needs Hurley to get Michael from the beach.
{Flash Whoosh}
Jack is sitting at the edge of the hotel pool with his feet in the water, drinking from a half empty bottle of alcohol. {Important!}
Christian finally arrives, “Hey kiddo.”
Jack looks up to see dad. Christian takes his socks and shoes off to join Jack in the fantastic water. He shares with Jack about the screaming kid next to him in first class, “How does that happen, huh? What you got there?”
Christian takes swig of Jack’s bottle. Jack is definitely buzzed.
Jack-“Oh, Sarah wants us to write our own vows.
Christian reading from a piece of paper, “My hearts skips beats at the sound of your voice. My skin warms... to the touch of your fingers. Where you go, I will go, etc. etc. This is, this is very nice.”
Jack-“Those aren't my vows. Those are hers. I stole them out of the room. Can't write mine.”
Christian feels that’s because Jack’s a doctor not a writer. He compliments Sarah's beauty and then asks Jack if he loves her.
Jack-“Absolutely.”
Dad wonders then why he’s sitting out there.

Jack has concerns. “What if I can't be the husband, or the father, that I want to be? What if I asked her because I saved her life? ... Should I marry her, dad?”
Christian-“Commitment is what makes you tick, Jack. The problem is you're just not good at letting go.”
{Flash Whoosh}
Boone is going downhill fast. Sun is tending to him.
Jack and Michael's conversation can be heard even though they are in the distance at a cargo container. Michael wonders if Jack is saying Locke lied.
Jack feels Boone didn’t fall; his leg was pinned under something heavy.
Michael- "Okay, Jack, wait. The cargo container? We've got to do this? What about the ax?"
Jack- “We can’t use the ax.”
Sun wonders what they’re doing. Jack explains the right leg is filling with blood. If he doesn’t stop it he won't be able to save him, “The leg is dead.”
Jack tests the amputating ability of the cargo container door with a log.
Jack confirms, “There's no other choice.”

In the jungle Kate decides it’s about time Claire starts to push. Claire holds her breath.
Kate-“And, don't hold your breath, honey. You won't be able to push if you...Claire? Claire, what are you doing? Oh, no, no, no, Claire, you need to push, right now. Don't do this, Claire, okay? You can't stop this, this is happening. Your baby is coming and I need your help.” {What?!}
Claire- “It's not going to want me….It knows I don't want it, that I was going to give it away. Babies know that stuff.“
Kate-“Do you want this baby now? Hmm? Do you want it to be healthy and safe? {Claire nods yes} Okay. Then the baby knows that, too. You are not alone in this. We are all here for you. This baby is all of us/ours. But I need you to push, okay? Okay? Alright. 1, 2, 3, push. Good. Good, push.” {That's a very interesting statement to make about a woman's child.}
Charlie and Jin are nearby watching. Charlie looks like he's wants to go to Claire but Jin stops him. Jin knows better.

Sun gives Boone some water but he ends up coughing up blood. Michael and Jack move Boone to the stretcher on 3. Jack counts, 1, 2, 3.
Sun is asking why he’s doing this, “He’s bleeding inside. You’re not helping him! You can’t save him, Jack! You can’t...”
Jack-"Don't tell me what I can't do."
They move Boone. Jack uses a belt as a tourniquet for Boone’s leg; pour more alcohol on the wound. Jack puts a green towel over the leg and feels Michael doesn’t need to see this.
Michael-“You need me, shout.”
Jack and Sun look at each other for a few seconds and then she walks away. Jack tries to gather strength and courage to cut off Boone’s leg and he moves the door just a bit. {Listen to the sound it makes.}
“In sickness and in health...”{Flash Whoosh}
“...in good times and bad. I risk it all because I love you.”
The minister thanks Sarah and asks Jack to go on with his vows. Jack seems very lost in thought for a few seconds and is very emotional. He snaps out of it when the minister says his name.
Jack-“I didn't write any vows. I've been trying to for a month but, I couldn't. So I started to wonder why that was. And as time went on it only got worse... because I'm, because I'm not good at letting go. Or maybe I'm afraid of what'll happen if I fail. But I know one thing. I would've never been able to write anything as beautiful as what you just said. And last night, Sarah, when you were talking about the accident… you got it all wrong. I didn't fix you. You fixed me. I love you, Sarah, and I always will.”
They kiss.
{Flash Whoosh}
As Jack is about to cut Boone's leg off...
Boone- “Wait...Wait.”
Jack-“I have to, if I don't...”
Boone- “I'm all mashed up inside. You know it."
Jack-“This is our best chance.”
Boone-“There's no chance. Really. I mean, look where we are.”
Jack- “I'm not going to let you give up.”
Boone-“I know you made a promise. I'm letting you off the hook...Let me go, Jack.”
Jack cries-“I’m sorry.”
Boone-“Don't be.”

Kate- “Watch, watch, watch. Breathe...c'mon breathe. Breathe. Okay. Okay. Ready? You got another one I see its close, c'mon. That's really good. C'mon, I think its close... Okay, good, good, good. I can see it. I can see the top of its head. I can see it. I can see it, okay... You're almost there...You're so close, you're so close. Ready, ready? C'mon, one more... Go Push, push, push, push, push…. Oh, you have a little boy.”
Kate hands her the baby.
Claire is happy, “I have a son.”
Charlie and Jin are very happy and hug!
Claire tells her little one to “Shhhhh.”

Jack lays Boone down. Jack is worn out.
Boone struggles for a breath.
Boone whispers, “Tell Shannon...tell Shannon... tell her. . . “
Jack closes Boone's eyes.

Claire brings her new baby to the beach camp to meet everyone.
Hurley taps Jack on the shoulder to let him know happy Shannon is walking up the beach with happy Sayid. Jack walks over to talk to her. {Vincent has a collar on.}
Shannon is at the caves crying over Boone's body.

Jack is alone on the beach with a backpack; he looks like he may have been crying.
Kate walks up to him.
Jack-“Beautiful, healthy baby.”
Kate-“Wanna talk about it?”
Jack-“Talk about what?”
Kate- “Boone died, Jack.”
Jack-“He didn't die. He was murdered.
Kate- “What? Jack, where are you going?”
Jack gets focused- “To find John Locke.”    He is a man on a mission.

Do No Harm is a GREAT episode!!
Unfortunately it’s game over for Boone.
Even though we are seeing a "Jack" centric, John Locke is not completely absent from it.
I'll never stop telling you to keep your eyes on their eyes. You'll get sick of hearing me say that.

Things to Note...Questions to ask...
  Jack sits with a bottle of vodka talks about drinking beers with Marc, we see him drink at the rehearsal dinner, and at the piano. He must be quite the drinker.
  Alcohol. Liquor.
☯  Speech.
Sawyer hides all forms of liquid alcohol together. For example, he doesn’t have the rubbing alcohol with medical.
Blood. Blood type. Boone: A negative. Jack: O negative. B negative.
☯  Jack tells Kate to ransack Sawyer's stuff. The boar ransacked Sawyer’s stuff in Outlaws.
☯  At the rehearsal dinner Sarah mentions her accident was two years ago, 2001. So this event must be 2003.
☯  WTF does Kate mean by "This baby is all of ours/us" really?
☯  Be aware of play on words and phrases.
☯  Emotional pain. Physical pain.
☯  Heart Heartbeat. Heart & Soul.
☯  Brain. Mind.
☯  Breath. Breathe. Air.
Write. Written. Read. Log.
☯  Language. Understanding language. Translate.
☯  Time. Timer.
Jack- “Is she nauseous? Can she stand? Is there any bleeding? Did her water break?” Sun translates the response-“No, none of that, but she can't move.” Wow! Claire doesn’t have any other labor symptoms besides pain and she can’t move. Lol!
☯  It seems pretty important that Kate is the one who delivers the baby.
☯  Life
☯ Death.

Vocabulary and Research...
♦  Ax- In computing: Accumulator eXtended (x86 registers in computing.)
♦  Ax- In rallying: a leg is each day of the whole event.
♦  Commitment- 1). Responsibility. 2). Loyalty. 3). A previously planned engagement. 4). Institutionalize someone. 5). Court order confining someone to prison.
Yin Yang- is used to describe how seemingly disjunct or opposing forces are interconnected and interdependent in the natural world, giving rise to each other in turn.  The concept lies at the heart of many branches of classical Chinese science and philosophy, as well as being a primary guideline of traditional Chinese medicine, and a central principle of different forms of Chinese martial arts and exercise.
According to the philosophy, yin and yang are complementary opposites within a greater whole. Everything has both yin and yang aspects, which constantly interact, never existing in absolute stasis.
   - Yin and yang can also mean good and bad.
♦  Fix, slang for a shot of drugs eg. heroin or a mixture of liquor, citrus, and sugar
   -Fix,a planned setup (interchangeable with the same use of "rig") of an event so as to influence the outcome.
♦  Factor IX (or Christmas factor) is one of the serine proteases of the coagulation system.

We learn a lot about Jack's personality; commitment in particular.   He really is a dedicated man, a man of his word, and a man who doesn't want to give up, or is it “let go”.    He's very afraid of failure. These are all very strong personality traits.   We saw that at some point in his life Jack and Christian were comfortable having heart to heart talks.   Jack really did realize on his wedding day that he did indeed love Sarah.
But more importantly to note is it seems to me this is an "alcohol" episode. I got the sense that Jack was taking a look at himself with everything he experiences here, like he was looking head on to himself being an alcoholic.   I know, call me crazy.   But, Jack could very well have a problem with alcohol and needs to deal with some heartfelt issues and then learn to let go of them.

So, move or don’t move...the choice is yours.

I'll want to leave you with this Zen proverb...“Let go over a cliff, die completely, and then come back to life - after that you cannot be deceived”

Love to all who are "LOST"™

PS: As we approach the end of season one and I review all these notes I've kept since the beginning, I'm still amazed at how new the show still feels for me. Even when I re-watch I NEVER tire of it. There's always something new to see and a new way to look at something. The way the show draws you in and wraps you into it is absolutely surreal. We talk about all the things that made us fans and what we love about the show, there's just so many reasons. I agree with all of your reasons and I'm very guilty of obsessive behavior. I love this fantastic, smart show!!! Maybe one day I will share with you all how and why I became the obsessed LOST fan you see today, an active participant in the show, why it's such a part of my life and why it's it held near and dear to my heart.

Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right. The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either. You all know I hate spoilers, and I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Understood? Good. Let the fun begin!I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance. It will get very exciting as we progress into the story.

Raised by Another.

Let's talk about LOST! Raised by Another.

(Click the pics!)

An infant cries.
Claire's beautiful crystal blue right eye opens. She lays there looking around and listening; she looks confused. The very distant cry of a baby jolts her to sit up. She continues to sit there confused. Claire looks down and sees she is not pregnant. A distant baby cries again, this one motivates Claire to get up. Claire looks worried and confused as she walks in the caves.  {Note: seems to be other blanketed bodies sleeping there.}

Claire walks through the dark jungle hearing the cries of the distant baby. She doesn’t know where the cry is coming from. She stops when she sees a lit area ahead of her; someone is there. Claire walks up to see John sitting at a table with a red shade lamp, purple crystals and pulling up one black and white tarot cards at a time. {When he pulls a card it makes a metal sound.}
Claire-“What’s happening?”
John angrily answers, “You know what’s happening.”
Claire-“But I don’t understand. Why…”
John- “He was your responsibility but you gave him away, Claire. Everyone pays the price now."
John lifts his head and we see he has one white eye and one black eye. A baby cries. In the distance we see Claire run through the jungle.

Claire comes upon a white crib with Oceanic planes as the mobile. The plane starts to shake and make sounds {Almost like machine creaking} this starts the mobile into spinning. She starts to peel back the many layers of baby blanket to reveal a huge puddle of blood. There is blood on both her hands.Claire screams!

Claire wakes up screaming. She is in a very deep sleep state yet she is fighting off Charlie in her hysterics. Charlie is trying to calm her while everyone else has gathered around. Finally she begins to calm and Charlie tells her it’s alright, “You’re dreaming. You were sleepwalking.”
Charlie sees her hands are bloody,What happened? {Her shirt has blood too.}
Claire is still panicking.

Jack tends to Claire’s hands, “It must have been a hell of a nightmare.”
Claire-“Who said it was a nightmare?”
Jack feels anyone who makes a fist so tight they dig their fingernails a quarter of an inch into their palm, probably wasn’t dreaming about riding ponies. He asks if she ever sleepwalked before. Claire doesn’t think so, “How would I know?”
Jack-“It’ll get back to ya.”
Jack reveals he had a girlfriend who told him he talked in his sleep, he doesn’t know what he said but whatever it was she didn’t like it. Jack goes on to ask how her OBGYN in Sydney was. Claire said she was good.
Jack wonders, “She was okay with letting you fly in your third trimester.”
Claire went for a checkup a week before and she said it would be fine.
Jack-“Ultrasound was cool?”
Claire says yep, “Very healthy.”   She’s been feeling okay, her back’s pretty sore; probably from sleeping on the ground. She gets dizzy if she stands up too fast, she has to pee all the time and she’s eating enough boar and bananas.
Jack- “How many weeks in are you? What was the date that you found out you were pregnant?”
Claire zones somewhere else.
{Flash Whoosh}

Claire comes out of the bathroom{Pink everywhere!} “Is it pink? Did you actually pee on it? Maybe you didn’t do it right.”
Nervous Claire wants Thomas to give her a second, and yes, she can pee on a stick. Thomas asks what color it is.
Claire-“How longs it been?”
Thomas looks at his watch and tells her 66 seconds. She anxiously looks over the instructions and Thomas tells her the two pink lines look more red. Claire looks at the two pink lines. Thomas feels that these tests are not always accurate. He tells her his uncle thought he had testicular cancer. Claire said he did; he’s dead! Thomas still feels there was a wrong-bad diagnosis.
Claire declares she’s six weeks late, “That never happens. I’m pregnant.”
Thomas tells her it’s all going to be okay and if they wanted to they could “do this”, he’s not kidding.
Claire knows it’s going to be okay, but {making her bed} feels her mom would disown her.
Thomas- “She basically has already.”
Claire wonders how they would, with her five dollar an hour job at Fish and Fry. She isn’t the only one with a job, he has his painting. Claire feels it’s sweet but it isn’t what they want. Thomas suggests maybe it is; it could be the best thing ever.
Claire-“You’d really wanna try?”
Yeah, he says he loves her.

Kate stands staring out to the ocean. Jack approaches her and says, “Well this is a first, you standing still, middle of the day, doing nothin'. Amazing.”
Kate smiles, “I’m doing something.”
She reveals she’s “sinking”.
The water goes out and takes the sand with it and you sink; she used to do this with her mom when she was a kid. {What kind of look is that?!}
Jack, “Ah, new plan. You’re gonna just sink your way right off of the island. Sayid’d be proud.”
Kate mentions he’s been gone almost a week. Something tells Jack he’ll be okay. Jack is down this far from the caves because he’s bringing water down and fish back.
Jack -“Claire’s gonna have the baby soon.”
{What kind of looks are those?!}

Claire sits in the middle of the jungle writing in her diary. Charlie, with two cups, {Finger tape- L * * E. } sees the diary and narrates- “Dear Diary. Still on the bloody island. Today I swallowed a bug. Love Claire.”
He gives her a cup and say, “What separates us from these savage yanks if we can’t drink tea.” He asks if she’s feeling better.
Claire-“It was just a dream.”
Charlie has this dream of driving a bus and my teeth start falling out. "My mum is in the back eating biscuits, everything smells of bacon. It’s weird." Of course he doesn’t wake up screaming.
Claire tells him she’s alright.
Charlie- “Of course you are. It’s just…I think about you, this place. How hard it must be for you…without your family and your friends. And I think we can be friends. I could be your friend.”
They don’t have to do each other's hair or anything, but if she anyone to talk to about anything, he’s here.
Claire just says, “Charlie”, but she looks as if she drifted off somewhere. Charlie takes that as a non answer and says, “Okay.”
Claire-“I didn’t mean that I …”
Charlie gets up to leave; tells her it’s cool.
{Flash Whoosh}
Happy Claire tells her girlfriend Rachel that awesome Thomas cleaned out his whole loft; she’s officially moving in on Tuesday. Claire seems to have second thoughts about where the girls are headed.
Rachel tells her she’s not backing out now, “He’s just a psychic, Claire. I thought you were really into this. All your astrology stuff.”
Claire doesn’t really need somebody telling what is gonna happen or how to live her life. Rachel feels it’s not about what you need, it’s about what’s fun.

Inside, Claire sits at a table across from the psychic. {He has many globes, the red shade lamp and crystals on the table.} Rachel sits on the couch and watches. Richard will need Claire’s hands for this; he goes into his “state of trance/connecting”, eyes closed. After a few seconds he makes like he hears something and asks Claire, “Huh? So when did you find out?...About the baby.”
Claire looks over at Rachel, but she doesn’t seem to know how he’d know this info either.
Claire admits, “Two days ago.”
Malkin sits, eyes closed, still holding on to Claire’s hands, he appears to be “listening”.
Rachel interjects with, “She hasn’t told her mum yet. We’re afraid she…”
Claire cuts her off, “Shhhhh!”
Malkin opens his eyes and looks down at Claire’s hands. Claire wonders, should she not tell her, “What? What is it?”
Malkin abruptly lets go of her hands, gives her back her money and tells her he can’t, “I’m not doing this reading. You’ll have to leave. Now.”
Although Claire wanted to hear what he wanted to say, she and Rachel leave. What a freak.

We get a shot of the dark jungle.

Pregnant Claire sleeps. {On a pillow!} There’s a high pitched ring. Her mouth is covered by a hand. "Flashes" of her belly, knife, scalpel, needle.

Jack sleeps. He wakes to Claire screaming, “Help me! Somebody’s trying to hurt me, please!”
She is still screaming, yet Charlie is right there with her.   Charlie tells Jack someone attacked her.
Claire-“He held me down…”  She doesn’t know which way he went because she couldn’t see, “Just now! Just now! He just ran away.”
Hurley, Michael and "Ethan" gather round hysterical Claire.
Charlie- “We should find out. Check the surrounding caves.”    He recruits Hurley to go with him. Jack wants him to wait, but they go.
Jack sits Claire down and has "Ethan" get her some water.
Jack-“Claire, look at me. You’re safe now.”
Michael asks her if she got a look at him. Nope, it was dark, she couldn’t see. In hysterics she tells Jack it happened right here, “I was sleeping and I woke up. He was trying to hurt my baby! He had this, this thing, like a needle. He stabbed me with it.” {Points to her belly.} She insists he was trying to hurt her baby.

In the dark jungle, the gang with their torches search. Hurley tells Jack they have to round the entire perimeter. Jack says nobody saw or heard anything.
Hurley confirms this, as everyone was asleep.
Hurley- “So, I had an idea. I’m out here looking for some psycho with Scott and Steve, right? And I’m realizing…Who the hell are Scott and Steve?”
Jack- “I’m not following ya.”
Hurley- “If I was a cop and some woman got attacked, we’d canvas, right? Knock on doors, find witnesses. But we don’t even have doors.”
Jack feels Hurley’s not helping him to understand. Hurley doesn’t know whose living here and whose still at the beach; they didn’t even know each other, My name isn’t Hurley. It’s Hugo Reyes. Hurley’s just a nickname I have, alright. Why? I’m not telling. The point is we gotta find out who everyone is.”
Jack- “You want to start a census.”
Hurley- “A registry. You know names, what people look like, who’s related to who. I mean, we start laying down the law maybe people stop attacking each other. It seems like someone’s getting punched or stabbed or something every other day here. We gotta find out who did this to her.”

Charlie drapes a Native American Indian or Alaskan motif blanket on shook up/staring Claire.
He tells her don’t worry, “If you want to close your eyes I’ll be here all night. I won’t let anyone get to you…I won’t leave you, Claire. Promise.”

(Flash Whoosh}
A few months pregnant Claire is threading drapes on a pole to hang up. Thomas, who carrying a bag of groceries and seems unimpressed, comes in and sees the changes in the place, “Wow. We have drapes now.”
Proud Claire says she feels all grown up now, “I don’t know why drapes represent age for me. I guess it just feels like something my mum would do.”
She also shares that Sasha called and wanted to know if they wanted to go out tonight. Thomas has something on his mind.
He tells Claire, “I can’t do this.”   He feels this isn’t working and that she knew that, yet this takes Claire by surprise.
Claire calmly asks him, just so she isn’t over reacting, “Are you breaking up with me?”
For the past three months Thomas has been troubled by having plans and responsibility, “Somewhere that we have to be, someone that you have to talk to.”
Claire starts to get upset, “Yeah. I’m trying to make sure that when the baby comes…”
He cuts her off, “Oh! And the baby. Yeah. I mean that is just not… It’s like this now. What’s it gonna be like when the baby comes?” {His baby remark seems to come as an afterthought.}
Claire reminds him that he said “we should do this.”
Thomas- “Yeah. Well. Now it’s real.
She tells him he can’t just change his mind.
Thomas wonders how he’s supposed to be a dad; what about his painting and his life. Claire knew this would happen. {He opens a beer.}  This pisses off Thomas and he sarcastically says, “I told you so. Perfect. Now I get all your daddy abandonment crap...”
Claire very defensively tells him not to try and justify what he’s doing. Awesome Thomas feels he’s done nothing, “You don’t think I’ve seen what you’ve done…You were supposed to be on the pill
Does he think Claire got pregnant on purpose or this was some kind of plan?
Claire yells, “You are out of your mind!...No, it’s not over!”
Thomas is outta there.

{Flash Whoosh}
Claire is just sitting, staring. The light from the campfire burns.
Daylight:
Hurley is on the beach with a pad and pen.
He walks up to John Locke; says his name, verifying it.
Locke, whose working on something asks, “Is this about your census?” {He’s using aloe and a blue sneaker filled with sand.}
Hurley thought it would be a good idea to get everyone’s name and place of residence.
Locke- And who’s checking on you?”
Hurley-Uhhh, me.”
Locke- ”It was a joke.”
John goes on to say, “You already know my name. I lived most of my life in Tustin California.”
Hurley inquires further, “Cool. Reason for travel. The reason you were in Australia.”
John- “I was looking for something.”
Hurley, seemingly baffled by that reason asks if he found it. As John looks up toward the jungle area he says, “No. It found me. Anything else?”
Nope.
So Hurley hurries away and up to someone he already talked to because he wanted to get away that person/Locke. {Interesting, huh.}

Charlie questions Kate about seeing anyone at the beach last night. Kate doesn’t know because people come and go. {They do?!}  Jack shares with the two that he isn’t sure anything actually happened. “Claire told Michael and I that this attacker tried to inject her with something, but there was no mark on her stomach. She wakes up two nights in a row screaming. The first time she was sleepwalking.”
Charlie wonders if Jack thinks she was making this up, “She was terrified, man.”
Jack wonders why someone would want to attack and hurt her baby now with all of them sleeping twenty feet away.
Jack doesn’t think she’s lying; “Pregnant woman have extremely lucidthese are text book anxiety nightmares.”
Charlie is annoyed, “You know everything that’s going on with everyone.”
Jack feels with Claire due in a little over a week, maybe two, “but if she stays stressed out like this or has another panic attack it can trigger an early labor. And out here with no instruments, no monitors, no anesthetic, that would not be good.”
Charlie states, “It’s not all in her head”, and walks away.

Hurley walks up to a dude shaking fruit out of the tree, “Hey, Lance.”
This guy's name isn’t Lance, its Ethan.
Hurley realizes his mistake because Lance is the little skinny guy with glasses and the red hair. Ethan smiles and says “I can see how you’d confuse us.”
Hurley apologizes, “lots of names and faces.”
He mentions to Ethan that you’d think a couple of weeks on the island with the same people we’d all know each other. Ethan agrees.
Hurley tells him about the list; names, home addresses, stuff like that. Ethan tells him is last name is Rom and he’s from Ontario. Hurley says he likes Canada.
Ethan wonders, “What’s this for?”
Hurley-“Nothing. It’s just… I thought it’d be a good idea.”
Ethan takes his handmade basket and fruit and leaves.

Claire writes in her diary. {Astrology book nearby}
Jack tells Claire they didn’t find him;  she’s worried about him coming back.
Jack- “Claire. This situation that we’re in, the crash, that no one’s coming, this place. It can kinda mess with your head a little and maybe make you see things that really aren’t actually there. Now, I know it feels very real…”
He goes on to be compassionate about her baby coming soon and how scared she must be. But the more upset she is the more dangerous it is for her and her baby. So Jack wants her to take a mild sedative; commonly used in situations like hers. He promises it won’t harm the baby. Claire feels Jack doesn’t believe her, “I get attacked and you want to give me sleeping pills.”
Insulted Claire packs her stuff and will go to the “safe beach” because it’s not safe there.   Jack tried to stop her. Claire is sick of everyone telling her what to do. She storms out of the cave; right passed Charlie.
Charles asks Jack, “What did you say to her?”

Claire walks quickly through the jungle.
{Flash Whoosh}
Claire knocks on the screen door. Malkin answers. {In a dirty white tee shirt} He remembers her. Claire was hoping for a reading.
Sitting at the table, Claire hands him cash and he counts it. She wonders if he’s a psychic why he has to count it.
Malkin tells her, “That’s not how it works.” {Note the cash}
She was just joking. Malkin holds out his hands for her to go into his whole psychic mumbo jumbo.
Claire asks him, “So. How does it work?”
Richard-“I don’t know.”
Malkin, looking concerned, asks when he left her.
Claire-“Last week...Is that why you didn’t wanna do my reading last time.”
He says no; he saw some sort of a blurry thing.
Claire- “And blurry’s bad?”
Malkin confirms that blurry is bad. Even though she looks very concerned Claire is sure she wants to continue this reading. As Malkin begins, there are very interesting sounds happening. {Mixed machine-like, hum, like a plane fly over, } Malkin makes with the quivers and shit and tells her this is important, “It is crucial that you, yourself, raise this child.”
Claire- “You mean with Thomas...”
Malkin shares the father of this child will play no part in its life, nor hers. {Its!! What is it?} He reveals this child parented by anyone else, anyone other than Claire, “Danger surrounds this baby…Your nature, your spirit, your goodness must be an influence in the development of this child.
Claire admits to him if she and Thomas don’t get back together she is putting this baby up for adoption. She just wanted to find out what would give the baby the happiest life. This troubles Malkin and he tells her, “There is no happy life. Not for this child. Not without you.”
Claire is getting frustrated but Malkin insists there can’t be another,you mustn’t allow another to raise your baby!’
Claire thanks him for taking her two hundred and hurries away.
Malkin gives her the money and begs her to consider listening to him.
Claire runs out of there while Malkin is still dramatically telling her the baby needs her protection.

The telephone rings. Sleeping Claire wakes to answer it. {Note how loud the damn crickets are! Lol!} It’s Richard Malkin calling her about his plan; something that will make this all better. Apparently he’s been calling her often.
Claire tells him it’s too late; she’s going to see adoptive services tomorrow. Malikin’s been telling her for months she cannot do that. What she does with her baby is none of his business. He again insists if she doesn’t do what he suggests, great danger will befall… He also says he knows what she’s feeling inside; that she is doubting her decision to give up the baby. He begs her not to do it; to please hear his plan first.
Claire is unimpressed and ends the call.
{Flash Whoosh}
Claire, looking really shitty and distant, walks through the jungle. Charlie appears out of nowhere and asks her where she’s going.
She’s going back to the beach because Jack tried to dope her, “He thinks I’m making all this up. That none of it really happened.”
Charlie- “Right. So to prove your sanity you go tromping through the jungle alone. Well done.”
Claire tells him she is not crazy.

Shannon angrily packs her bag{including a crossword puzzle}.
Hurley wants her info.
Shannon- “Name. Shannon Rutherford. Age. 20. Address. Craphole Island.”
Hurley asks where were you guys last night.
Shannon- “Umm. The beach.”
Boone asks Hurley, “Why the interrogation?”
Hurley mentions Boone’s like the 20th person to ask him that. He wonders why everyone is so uptight about answering a few questions. {Boone is wearing the shirt he wore in Locke’s vision from Deus Ex Machina. Except here it is a short sleeve shirt. The sleeves are cut off in the vision.}
Boone- “Well. Maybe we’re just not cool with you setting up your own little patriot act, man.”
Shannon says Boone’s a liberal.
Boone asks Hurley, “Seriously. Why the list?”
Hurley tells them it's nothing; they just had a little incident in the valley last night.
Shannon- “An incident?”
Hurley informs them the pregnant girl got attacked. Shannon announces she is so not moving to the rape caves and drops her bag.
Boone feels Hurley’s life would be much easier if he just had the manifest, “Cause we crossed out all the names of the dead after we burned the fuselage. So, should be a full roster of the rest of us.”
Hurley’s surprised by this. Guess who has the manifest.
Hurley heads over to shirtless Sawyer sitting pretty, resting with sunglasses on. {Glasses have smiley faces and "rosie" colored lens.} Hurley lays it out straight for Sawyer; he hears he has the manifest, he needs it and he wants Sawyer to give it to him. Hurley tells him they can play it the Sawyer way or Sawyer could just give it to him. After all Sawyer could use the points.
Sawyer-"Gosh. You sure know how to butter a man up, Staypuff."
Hurley- "It's a gift."
Adorable Sawyer tells Hurley the manifest is in the brown suitcase.

Still on their trek back to the beach, Charlie, "Please let me carry your bag."
Claire, who is looking very shitty, can handle it, but she wants to know why he came after her.
Charlie- "It's probably because I like you."
Claire feels he doesn't like her, "You just want to rescue me. Because I'm...Because of this." {She points to her belly.} She doesn't need rescuing. Just then she gets "pains". {tape-LATE}
Charlie says they need to time the contractions, "One sugar plum fairy, two sugar plum..." He's getting anxious and yells at her to calm down, "Big deep breaths."
He takes a few and makes himself dizzy.
Claire needs him to go get Jack; she feels Charlie doesn't know how to deliver a baby.
Charlie may not know what he's doing but he'll figure it out, "If I can kick drugs I can deliver a baby."
Claire's a bit stunned by what he just said.
He explains, "I'm a drug addict..I was a drug addict. I'm clean now."
Claire yells, "Get Jack!"
Charlie takes off running through the jungle.

The attorney tells very pregnant Claire, "Arlene and Joseph will bring you to Melbourne. They'll pay your living and medical expenses. Arlene informs Claire they found her a really nice two bedroom apartment. {Claire is wearing the Chinese character symbol necklace that she has on with Charlie.}
It's been agreed that once the baby is born she will hand the child over to the Stuarts and she has no right to see the child again; no right to correspond with the child and it will be up to the Stuarts if they tell the child anything about her. Claire understands.
The attorney tells her upon her discharge from the hospital she will be given an additional payment of $20,000. Claire wants to make sure that they're going to take really good care of the baby.
Claire is given a gold pen to sign and date the papers. The Stuart's look anxious waiting for her to sign.
Claire asks them, "Do you know Catch a Falling Star? It's a song, like a lullaby."
Arlene-"Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket."
Claire mentions her dad used to sing that to her when she was little. Claire would like her to sing it to the baby once in a while. The gold pen isn't working.
The attorney gives her a red pen; that doesn't work.
Arlene gives her a silver and gold pen; Claire apologizes and says, "I can't do this."
She runs out of the room.

Claire knocks on Malkin's door and asks, "What is it? What's your offer?"

Charlie runs through the jungle and right into Ethan; who is gathering wood.
Charlie instructs Ethan to run to the caves and get Jack; Claire's having the baby.
Ethan seems concerned. Charlie tells Ethan to go fast and he'll be on the path with Claire, "GO!"
They both take off.

Charlie runs back to Claire and tells her Jack's coming. She is in pain. He takes her hand and coaches her with breathing.
Claire blurts out, "I'm not supposed to be here." Someone promised her it would be different.
Charlie- "Well, he was wrong."
Claire- "Yeah. He was wrong."
{Flash Whoosh}
Claire tells Malkin, "You spent the last four months telling me I have to raise the baby myself. Now you're giving me money and saying I don't have to."
Malkin found a couple in L.A. who are very eager to adopt, "The baby will be safe in their care."
Claire {with large yellow envelope} doesn't even know why she's there.
Malkin knows this sounds ridiculous, all this psychic business, and he appreciates that she must think he's a raving mad man, "But this is what must happen."
Claire confirms he's giving her $6,000 to give her baby to a couple of strangers in L.A... Malkin,"$12,000. The other six when you arrive in Los Angeles. And they're no strangers, Claire. They're good people."

Charlie-"A psychic?"
Claire's embarrassed by it, "After everything...he was just full of it."
Charlie contemplates and says, "Or not." All he wanted was no one else raise her baby, "Maybe he knew. I mean, if he wanted it bad enough...You know if he had the gift, and I believe some people do. Maybe he knew, Claire."
Claire drifts off in thought.
Claire takes her Oceanic ticket from Malkin. The ticket is for tomorrow and it has to be this flight; it can't be any other, "They're already scheduled to meet you when you arrive. Flight 815. Flight 815."

Claire tells Charlie, "There was no couple in Los Angeles. He knew. He knew about the plane, how it was gonna happen. Oh my god he knew.

Injured Sayid uses a stick to help him run through the jungle.

Charlie asks Claire if she feels another one coming. She doesn't think so. Charlie wonders where the hell Jack is. Claire is fine; she thinks that was the last one, "Please let it be the last one."
Charlie mentions Jack said stress can cause a false labor. She has no pain. Charlie is pleased, "Birthing emergency averted. I told you I'd take care of you."
She thanks him. Charlie asks if she thinks she can make it back to the caves; he won't let anything happen to her.
OK.

Sayid rushes into the caves to Jack and Kate. He stumbles, "Listen to me. I found her...The French woman...The woman on the island...I had to come back...I had to come back."   All the while Locke stands there quietly, arms folded, watching and listening to them. As Jack tends to Sayid's leg,
Sayid tells him, "We're not alone."

Charlie carries Claire bag on their trek back to the caves. She lets him feel the baby kick. Hurley runs with the manifest to tell Jack they got a problem; the manifest, "Jack the census." { Jack is focused on Sayid's leg} The names of everyone who survived all 46 of us. I interviewed everyone. Here, at the beach, got their names. One of them, one of them isn't, Jack!...One of them isn't in the manifest. He wasn't on the plane."

"Hello there.", Ethan says to Claire and Charlie. He looks droid-like; zoned, starring at Claire. Charlie asks him where Jack is. Claire is afraid.

* Claire tells the guys she “He held me down”.    In White Rabbit, young Jack’s bully tells him “You should have stayed down, Jack.” Very similar dialog about being “held down”.
* Important: Charlie tells Claire- it’s alright, “You’re dreaming. You were sleepwalking.” Well I can’t help but question…Which part is really the “dream”. Is it then when Charlie says that or other parts?

In this episode I found Locke to be in the seat/role of the psychic in Claire's vision. This episode also showed Claire is afraid of Locke and Ethan.
Charlie tells Claire; maybe the psychic knew the plane was going to crash.   In my opinion psychics are fakes. Isn't the fact Richard Malkin basically forced Claire's hand getting her on that plane proof of manipulation.  I feel all the Lostie's flight plans were manipulated to get them all on flight 815.

Again, Locke is put right in the middle of the goings on. Just who is this man and what is his role, really? {Wink, wink!}
I don't think Locke is the only key player in the Island; I keep Jack close at hand.  I take Hurley's role in this episode as something to keep in our minds for the future.  As a matter of fact, I'm sure of it.

What the hell is Ethan’s deal? What's the hell is with his droid zombie stare? What kind of name is Rom, anyway? It seems more as a hint to computers not a man. I'm just fucking saying!!

Claire doesn't feel these events are a dream, but they are very real. Are they visions of future events or past events or  memory?   Claire gives “him” away; when does she do this?
Claire is disconnected from the "baby".    Maybe Claire is not actually pregnant.

Events seem out of order or disjointed. Things are fucking BLURRED! It could be that "Island" and "Flash" events are blurred together.

This place messes with your head, making you see things that aren’t actually there. Making experiences "feel" very real.  So that means they are not real.

Someone asked me if I really thought Locke was part of the Island?....My answer is still YES {and much, much more. Monster.}

Love to all who are "LOST"™

Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right. The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either. You all know I hate spoilers, and I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Understood? Good. Let the fun begin!I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance. It will get very exciting as we progress into the story.

Jughead.

Let's talk about LOST!   Jughead.

Desmond runs through a market place looking for Efren Salonga; the doctor. Philippine men are drinking and gambling. Money is changing hands.
The Doctor asks him “What’s the matter with you?"

Sign- MABUHAY.
Desmond and the Doctor run across a red dock back to the boat where Penny is losing a lot of blood; she is in labor.
Desmond tells her, “It’s OK. Just breathe.”
She is told to push. {What, the button?”  lol}
The Doctor uses forceps to deliver the baby boy.{Wrapped in a green towel w/stripes}

Night:
On a sailboat the golden curly haired boy listens to a story told by his father, Desmond.  “Look. Right out there. Beyond where you can see, there’s, there’s an island. And it’s a very special island. I left it a long time ago. I never thought I’d see it again. It’s called Great Britain. And The most beautiful part of the island is Scotland. And that’s where your daddy’s from. There’s mountains and glens and monsters and deep lochs and... It’s where your mommy and daddy fell in love.”
It’s also where he broke her heart.
Desmond wanted to leave out that bit and the bit about the boy’s grandfather who sent a boat to the island to kill all Daddy’s friends.
Desmond tells  Penny they’ll be in and out, “He’ll never know we were here, Penny.”
Penny’s concerned that Des may be underestimating Charles Widmore.
Desmond is on a mission that has nothing to do with Widmore. They are there because of Daniel Faraday. Faraday told Desmond that everyone on that island is in danger, and he’s the only one who can help him. {Watch Penny’s face.}
Desmond- “I have to do this Penny.”

On the jungle trek Miles tells him Sawyer said to meet at the creek. “Unless he got torched by a flaming arrow, that’s where he and everyone else should be.”
Charlotte is still suffering from a headache; she has dizziness and double vision. Dan is worried but tries to reassure her that he won’t let anything happen to her. They arrive at the creek.
Miles- “Some rendezvous, it’s just us.”
They should wait, the rest could be right behind them; or they came and left

Miles-“Or their dead.”
Dan tells Miles that kind of attitude is not exactly what they need right now, people are scared enough.   Something gets Miles’ attention. He spots a trip wireTwo castaways are walking near it. Miles tries to warn them not to move. It's too late. Boom! {Sounds like 6 explosions}

Out of the jungle come arrow wielding “soldiers”; they surround the three.  A small expressionless blond woman with a rifle asks Miles “Who’s in charge here?”

Miles says Dan is.
She says to Dan, “You just couldn’t stay away, could you?” {I love that we got her POV holding the rifle.}

On the docked boat we see Desmond’s reflection in the mirror. He puts his shoes on.
Penny enters to confirm that “he” finished his breakfast.  Penny says he put up a bit of a fight but listens in the end, “Unlike his father.”
Penny is troubled. Desmond tries to reassure her all he has to do is find "his" mother, tell her he’s still on the island, and then I’m done with this for good.”
Penny-“Why now? I mean, If he told you all this on the island why didn’t you remember it until two days ago.”
Desmond doesn’t understand how any of this works any more than she does.   He knows it happened. Daniel Faraday knocked on the hatch door, told him to go to Oxford, everyone was in danger and he was the only one who can help them. I know how insane it sounds.
He tells Penny he’ll be back by dark, “And then I’m done. Forever. I promise.”
They kiss. Penny asks if he can promise he’ll never go back to that island again.
Desmond- "Why in gods name would I wanna go back there?”

He leaves, leaving the door open. {Yep!}

Dan watches the “soldiers” pull the blown up guys out of the water. Miles and Charlotte are cuffed.
Ellie with the rifle questions them, “There were 20 of you at the beach, but only 5 of you here. Where are the rest of your people?”
Miles remarks that maybe they got blown up by some more of her land mines. She tells him they didn’t put them there, “You did.”
She explains to Dan, “Once they leave there I will be out of control of what happens to you. But if you cooperate now things will go much easier for you. So where are the rest of your people?”
He doesn’t know.

Sawyer, Locke and Juliet have two prisoners kneeling on the ground. {1 lays on the ground.}
Locke asks who these  people are. Sawyer sarcastically says he didn’t have time to ask that with Frogurt on fire and all.
Juliet tells him these people attacked them on the beach.
Locke notes, “This is a 30 caliber M1 Garand rifle. It looks new.”
Sawyer- Who cares about the rifle. Where the hell I've you been?”
Locke shares if he was going through what he’s been going through, the appropriate question would be “When the hell have I been?” {Locke thinks he’s the only one experiencing something?}

Sawyer asks about his leg.
Locke- “I got shot.”
Sawyer wonders “By who?”
Juliet conveniently interrupts Locke answering by saying they can swap stories later; they told the rest of their group they’d meet by the creek. “If there’s any chance of reconnecting with them, we better get moving.”
Sawyer suggests, seeing as they don’t have rope to tie up their prisoners, they’re gonna have to shoot them.

In Latin- Soldier 1-“Quare non sunt vestitus eis?” {Wherefore not are clothing these?}
Jones- “Tace!” {to be silent, say nothing, leave unmentioned, pass over}
John seems surprised.
Juliet says something in Latin back to them. {Wonder what is was…}
She interprets that one asks why they weren’t in uniform and the other told him to shut up. John asks her how they know how to speak Latin.
Juliet reveals it’s the same reason she knows how, “It’s because they’re Others.”

Ellie marches her troop and prisoners through the jungle.
Dan notices radiation burns on one of the men. {Left hand}
Something is grabbing Miles’ attention. Miles tells Dan they just walked over a fresh grave; Four U.S. Soldiers, dead just over a month. Three of them were shot; one died of radiation poisoning.
Dan looks confused. He asks Miles if any of them “happened to mention what year it is.” {Happen too?}

Ellie announces “We’re here.”
Tent City.

She calls out for Richard, “We’re back.”
Out of a tent emerges ageless Richard.
Ellie informs Richard she caught these three by the creek. This one’s their leader. {Dan }
Richard asks Dan his name, but Dan snaps back with, “What’s your name?”
Richard-“My name is Richard Alpert.”
Richard assumes Dan came back for his bomb.

The bells toll at Oxford. {3} {Lots of file boxes in this library!}
Desmond speaks to a woman with a British accent behind a desk. She does not find any record of any Faraday.
Desmond-“That’s impossible, ‘cause I know her son was a professor here.  His name’s Daniel Faraday. I’m sure his name’s in your database.”
The woman tells him there’s no record of any Faraday ever being employed here at Oxford.
Desmond, in his incognito sunglasses insists he visited him at his lab, “it was in an attic, it was above the physics department.”
The archives go back quite far, perhaps it was a clerical error. You don’t happen to recall what year it was in which you last visited?”
Desmond can’t recall.   She asks why he’s seeking this information.   He apologizes for wasting her time.
Desmond walks down the corridor and sees a sign, heads in.   He sees the “Danger tape” that is sealing off the room being fumigated and he breaks in. The room has indeed been locked down. Newspapers on the windows. He uncovers the chalk board and other items belonging to Dan.  He picks up a photograph of Dan and a blond woman; the glass is cracked. He uncovers the light contraption used to make Eloise’s conscious mind “travel in time.”
He uncovers the maze.
A janitor/custodian comes in; he wondered when someone would figure out we weren’t just fumigating. Then he asks Des if he’s a professor.
Desmond-“No. Not exactly.”
The janitor/custodian sees this as honesty. He doesn’t want Desmond to touch anything because he was the one who had to take the bloody maze running rats down to the incinerator, so that no one would find out what he was up to.
Desmond isn’t the first one to poke around for Daniel Faraday and his work. Rumor had it that he was trying to send rats brains back in time.
The janitor/custodian will forget Desmond broke his lock, if you tell your mates all you found was rubbish left behind by a madman.
Desmond questions why the University has no record of Faraday.
The custodian-“Can you blame them? I mean after what he done to that poor girl.”  {Oooooh.... What girl?!}

Back at tent city Miles, Dan and Charlotte are thrown into a tent.
Miles states “We are so dead.
Dan says they “are not SO dead. We are gonna be fine. We just need to keep it together until there’s another flash. Alright. And all this disappears.”
The next flash could be 5 minutes or 5,000 years. {Awesome!}
Charlotte wants to know what’s going on, “Why are they doing this to us?”
Dan-“They must think that we’re with the American military.”
If so, their best chance of staying alive is to let them keep thinking it.
Richard comes in speaks to Dan, “Ellie tells me you’re not willing to reveal where the rest of your squad is?”
Dan-“Why would I do that? So you can kill them too?”
Richard-“We didn’t start this, Friend. Your people attacked us. You come to our island to run your tests. You fire at us and what? You expect us to not defend ourselves?”
Dan doesn’t know anything about that; he insists, “We are scientists.”
Richard asks if they send him there to recover it.
Dan-“You mean our hydrogen bomb. Then yes. And I’m guessing from this man’s radiation burns that the housing has been compromised. Is that right?”
Dan tries to tell Richard that he has an unstable device, it’s capable of destroying the entire island and it’s broken. If you don’t allow me to render it inert all of us are gonna die. All of us.”
Richards' concerned that Dan could have been sent there on a suicide mission. He could take Dan out to the bomb and Dan would detonate it.
Dan wouldn't, “Because I’m in love with the woman sitting next to me.”
Dan would never do anything to hurt her.
This touches Richard and he gives permission to Dan to take care of his bomb, “If you try anything else, then you will hurt her.”

Locke looks at his compass as they march their prisoners through the jungle. Sawyer asks Juliet who taught her Latin.
Juliet smugly tells him “Others 101. Gotta learn Latin. Language of the enlightened.”
Sawyer- “Enlightened my ass.”
Locke suggests that the prisoners talk. “Once we meet up at the creek, and meet up with the rest of our people, there’s gonna be a lot of anger directed at you for attacking them."
The soldier Cunningham {American accent} tells Locke, the rest of your people are either captured or dead. Hmmm...What makes him say that, you ask. It’s because that idiot/Sawyer shouted out “Meet at the Creek. We knew exactly where they were headed. Sent a group after them.”
Sawyer-“Well maybe I should have said it in my secret language.”
Juliet hurries up to Cunningham and in Latin tells him “We’re not your enemy.”
He replies in Latin, “Then let us go.”
Sawyer wants to know what he’s saying. Juliet asks to be taken to their camp; she even asks if Richard Alpert is there.
Jones is concerned. And yes Locke, she asked for Richard Alpert.
Juliet again asks to be brought to their camp; and no one else has to die. Cunningham looks over at pissed off Jones.
Cunningham agrees to take them, “We need to head east another couple kilometers till we hit the ridge…”
Jones snaps Cunningham’s neck and makes a run for it! Sawyer tells Locke to shoot him!
Locke aims but can’t do it. Sawyer grabs the rifle and fires!

Missed!
Sawyer asks Locke if he’s crazy! Why didn’t he shoot him?
Locke couldn’t do it because, “He’s one of my people.”

Desmond in his incognito baseball cap and sunglasses, is looking for an address. He knocks on the door 3 times. {Properly using the door knocker, of course. Lol}
A British woman with blond short hair answers. {Abigail Spencer}
Desmond tells her he’s looking for Theresa Spencer; he’d like to have a word with her. He got her name from a gentleman he met at Oxford University; Daniel Faraday.
This intrigues Abigail, “ Daniel Faraday? Why didn’t you say so?” {He just fucking did!}
Abigail leads him through a sliding door into Theresa’s room.

Theresa is laid up in a hospital bed; monitor beeps. She’s is being spoon fed by an orderly. This takes Desmond by surprise.
Abby asks, “He didn’t tell you, did he?”
Des asks Abigail if Theresa can hear them.
Abigail- “No. Theresa’s away right now.”   Sometimes she wakes up, thinks she’s three, wants to know where her dolly is. Yesterday she was talking to our dad. He died five years ago.”
Desmond feels this was a mistake.
Abby gets an attitude "Of course. Why would you want to stay? Daniel certainly didn’t.”
She continues… He left her like this. Went running off to the states, never to be heard from again. He abandoned her. What kind of a man does that? She seriously wouldn’t know what to do if it wasn’t for Mr. Widmore, Daniel’s benefactor; he funded his research and he took responsibility for the result of it. He’s been taking care of Theresa ever since. Everything here is due to Mr. Widmore. God bless him.

Miles-“A hydrogen bomb. Seriously?”
Dan explains that back in the 50’s the U.S. Government tested H bombs in the South Pacific. Lucky us.
Charlotte tells Dan he didn’t have to profess his love for her, “There were plenty of other ways you could have convinced them you weren’t gonna blow up the entire island.”
Dan meant what he said.
Expressionless gun toting Ellie enters to retrieve Dan. She takes his pack; Dan promises to be back soon. Charlotte gets teary.

Richard unwraps Dan's “cuffed” hands, “Whatever your uh superiors told you, I want you to know the truth. A month ago we found 18 members of an army battalion right here, in our jungle here, setting up this camp. We gave them the opportunity to leave the island peacefully. They weren’t willing to do that so, I was forced to kill um. All of them.”
Dan wants to know who he was forced by.
Richard-“You answer to someone don’t you? You follow a chain of command. Right?”
Yep!
So does Richard.
Jones calls out to Richard and tells him, “ A group of them surprised us.”

They were outnumbered but he escaped.
Ellie-“Outnumbered, eh?”
Jones tells her to shut up. Richard shares with Jones that Dan is going to help them with their problem.
Jones feels he’s “one of them. You can’t trust him.”
But Richard sends Dan and Ellie on their way. Richard asks Jones how he escaped.
Jones-"I ran.". {And I Ran so far away. I just ran. Ran both night and day….Oh! Sorry. Now that damn Flock of Seagulls song is in my head!!}

Richard wonders if it ever occurred to Jones that they might follow him.
Jones doesn’t seem to think they would, “Their leader is some sodding old man. What? You think he can track me? You think he knows this island better than I do?”

Locke and Juliet look down at tent city. Locke asks her how she knew Richard would be there. Juliet mentions Richard has “always been here.”
Locke asks “How old is he?”
Juliet-“Old.”
She asks why he’s so interested in Richard.   It’s because Richard was about to tell John how he can save “us.”
Juliet-“Save us?”   {WTF? Doesn’t she want to be saved?}
Locke goes on to say that before Richard could finish they were interrupted by that flash of light; and he’s hoping they can pick up where they left off. {Watch Juliet}
Sawyer busts up a “I’m an Other, You’re an Other reunion” to tell them Faraday, the guy that’s actually gonna save us, is being death marched into the jungle right now.”
Locke-“Good luck with that.”
John isn’t going to help Sawyer save Dan, he’s going to finish his conversation with Richard.
Sawyer-“That’s gonna get us all killed. You go rolling in there, they’re gonna know we’re here.”
Fair enough; John will give him 10 minutes head start.
Sawyer asks Juliet if she wants to stay there in Crazy Town or help him rescue the geek.

Ellie asks Dan why he keeps looking at her. Apparently he feels she “looks so much like someone I used to know.”
Ellie-“Some one other than the girl you just professed your love for? Well aren’t you the Romeo?”
Dan-“Far from it. Believe me.”
By the way, she doesn’t believe him. He may have Richard fooled but he can’t expect her to believe he, a British woman and a Chinese man are all members of the Unites States Military.
Ellie-“Who are you? And what are you doing on our island?”
Dan tells Ellie that he’s her best chance at disarming that bomb.
So, disarm it.
Dan sees the bomb hanging like a pendulum. He examines the hanging bomb, named Jughead. {Complete with it’s Trigger control panel.} He discovers its seeping some substance.  He hurries away from it. He warns Ellie to get back, it’s unsafe; they need to move. Ellie warns him if he tries anything…like shoot him.
Dan explains that would be perfect because rifle fire right next to “what would you call this, hydrogen bomb”, fantastic idea, “Really inspired.”
He asks if her people have access to lead or concrete.
Dan explains, “There’s a crack in the casing, it needs to be filled with lead, taken off the platform carefully and bury it. If they do what he says and bury it, it won’t go off.
Dan needs her to trust him. He insists they must bury it and everything will be fine, “Remember your superior ordered me to take care of this.”

Apparently the way to take care of this bomb is you bury it. Dan knows so much about this because “50 years from now this island is still here.”
Ellie cocks the rifle and aims it at him. His remark shocks her. Dan can explain himself better. “50 years from now, me and my, me and my friends, that’s where we’re from, OK? And here’s the key, every thing’s fine. I’m not saying it’s perfectly fine, but there hasn’t been any atomic blasts. Alright.”
Sawyer sneaks up behind Ellie and demands she drop the gun. Neither Sawyer nor Ellie will drop their guns.
Juliet, with a knife says, “Why don’t we all put our guns down?”
Sawyer makes Ellie “drop it!” And he sees the hanging bomb, “Son of a bitch.”
Ellie-“Are they from the future too?”
Sawyer asks Dan, “You told her?”
Desmond steps off an elevator and charges right into Widmore’s office. {Namaste painting and the sail boat is on Widmore’s right side} Widmore tells Melanie it’s OK as Mr. Hume is a colleague of his. He also holds off a bodyguard.
Alone with Widmore, Desmond says he won’t answer the questions that Widmore has for him. Desmond is there to ask him a question and once he has the answer Widmore will never see him again. Understand. Desmond needs to know where he can find Daniel Faraday’s motha. {LOL!}
Widmore asks what makes Desmond think he knows where she is. Desmond calls him out on knowing he funded Faraday’s research, “So I figured you must know something regarding his next of kin.”
Widmore says he hasn’t seen or heard from his daughter for three years, “just answer me this…Is she safe?”
Desmond just replies with “Where’s Faraday’s motha?”

Widmore takes an address book out of a box. He tells Desmond she’s in L.A., and writes down her address and hands it to him. He also suspects she won’t be pleased to see him, as she is a very private person.
Before Desmond can leave Widmore stops him, “Deliver your message, but then get out of this mess. Don’t put Penny’s life in danger….You getting yourself involved in something that goes back many, many years it has nothing to do with you or my daughter. Where ever you were hiding, go back there.”
Desmond thanks him for the advice

Locke marches right into tent city and calls out for Richard Alpert. He tells Jones he’s looking for Richard. Locke continues calling out for Richard. Jones pulls the rifle on Locke to stop him.
Richard asks Locke Who are you?”
Locke-“My name is John Locke.”
Richard-“Is that supposed to mean something to me?”
Locke-“Jacob sent me.”
With that Richard tells Widmore to put the gun down. Locke turns to the kid, “Your name is Widmore? Charles Widmore?”
This pleases Locke.
Penny is in the boat cabin telling her son a story about a bear. Desmond returns. Penny shares she and Charlie had a good day; he wanted to go fishing in the Themes, they were unsuccessful.
Desmond lies to Penny about finding Faraday’s mum, “There was no one to find. She died a few years ago.”
Penny asks why he’s lying to her, “Where is she?”
Des confesses she’s in L.A..
This worries Penny.
Desmond reassures her this was a mistake. He promised her it would be done in a day, and now it’s done. It’s not our problem anymore.”
Penny wonders ” And what happens if you wake up tomorrow and remember something else? And the next day?”
Desmond-“I’ll forget it! It doesn’t matter Pen. You’re my life now. You and Charlie…I won’t leave you again. Not for this. Not for anything.”
Penny tells him he’ll never forget it, “So I guess we’re going with you.” {Permission granted!
They hug.

Richard holds the compass that Locke tells him he gave to him after Locke got shot in the leg and Richard wandered out of the jungle to patch him up.

Richard wonders why he doesn’t remember any of it.
John tells because it hasn’t happened yet. Richard chuckles. Locke expects Richard to tell him how to get off the island
Richard-“That’s very privileged information. Why would I share that with you?”
Locke-“Because you told me I had something very important to do once I get there. And because I’m your leader.”
Richard questions that, “Well I certainly don’t want to contradict myself but, we have a very specific process for selecting our leadership. And it starts at a very, very young age.”
Locke asks him “What year is right now?”
It’s 1954.
Locke tells him May 30th 1956, two years from now, that’s the day I’m born. Tustin, California. If Richard doesn’t believe him he suggests he go and visit him
Locke starts to realize the light is changing, triggering a flash, “Oh no. It’s happening again.”   {He grabs his head}

Locke needs Richard to tell him how to get off the island now! “Please tell me!
"FLASH!!!"
John is alone in empty Richard-less tent city.
Sawyer, Juliet, Dan, Charlotte and Dan apparently experienced the flash. Dan and Charlotte are very happy to see each other. Dan unbinds her hands. Charlotte gets dizzy and starts bleeding from her nose; she faints

Dan is upset.

Jughead is a great episode!
Since the very beginning events seem scripted, written out.  Similar dialog is repeated by various "characters" over and over and over again. Point blank, I sometimes feel like there is a basic outlined "script" involved.   Is it possible Other's are really supplementary beings, there to fill in the gaps or fill certain roles. Don't you ever feel like it's a living breathing game?

Things to note…Questions to ask
* Ellie seems almost robotic. Does she have a heart?
* Ellie is a form of the name Elizabeth
* Richard is wearing street clothes similar to what he’s worn before.
* Fumigating...For BUGS…Rats…Aliens????? Computer
* Testing bombs…I wonder if it creates mutant people/creatures. “Muahahaha”
* Dan professes his love for Charlotte. In what capacity does he love her? Lover, Husband, Brother, Father?
* Desmond is the only one who can help Faraday’s people. John bringing Jack and the rest of the Oceanic 6 back will save the island. Are these "missions" one in the same?
* Charlie Pace’s dad chopped heads off dollies.  Jack found dollies in the fresh water in the cave.

* Latin is the language of the enlightened and the ancients (Rome) and Doctors take Latin courses. Here they speak Vulgar Latin. Also, Tagalog language.
* Where/how did Richard’s people live before tent city.
* Widmore pays for Theresa's care. Christian pays for Mrs. Littleton’s care.
* The Bomb.
* Widmore is an Other living in the outside world.
* Theresa falls up the stairs….Boone. And Teresa Cortez, Anna Lucia’s mother.
* The name Jacob got Richards' attention.
* Richard knew in 'Because you left', that it would be the “next time” he saw John he wouldn’t remember him. Richard implied that he's not "going anywhere", John is. {in the Flashes}
* Juliet steers conversations. She knows too much.
* Flashes occur when “triggers” happen.
* Flashes are random in time. What determines where time ends up or how it’s supposed to get back to proper time?
* Charlotte has the same symptoms that Claire had on the beach when Ben activated an implant.
* Was Charles Widmore banished from the island or left on his own?
* Richard admits there’s a way to get to and from the island and it's privileged info. If its so secret, how come so many people end up there?
* Is the Flashing tied to the dream Locke had about Horace chopping down the tree on a loop? "Time skipping", doing things over and over, or just a hint to a bug in the system? Glitch.
* US Military knife- Goodwin had one.
* If the "Island" heals why are there dead people?  Does it only heal certain people or no one at all?
* Paradox
* The Oxford Physics Department is housed in Clarendon laboratory, not "Claredon" as shown.
* Dan needs to render the bomb inert. Same thing with the gas over at the Tempest with the gas.
* Arrows….Darts
* Dates regarding John Locke birth: John Locke in Further instructions…Papers-Johnathan Locke, San Francisco Ca, DOB 11/15/1946.   His driver's license DOB 3/30/56
* In Jughead John Locke's DOB 5/30/56
* Duex Ex Machina Emily’s DOB 10/15/40
* The song “everyday” was recorded on May 29, 1957 and released on September 29, 1957.

    Vocabulary and Research...
    * Mabuhay- Tagalog language of the Philippines.
    * Forsythe Pendleton "Jughead" Jones III of the Archie comics. {lineage}
    * The Creek mythology is related to an American Indian Creek people who are originally from the southeastern United States, also known by their original name Muscogee. The Creek believe that the world was originally entirely underwater. The first people were the offspring of Sister Sun and the Horned Serpent. These first two Creeks were Lucky Hunter and Corn Woman, denoting their respective roles in Creek Society.
    * Recollection is the retrieval, or recall, of memory, may be employed to make the best use of memory. Various means, including met cognitive strategies, priming and measures of retention.
    * Priming in psychology refers to a finding in which exposure to a stimulus at time 1 influences responding to a related stimulus at time 2. One theory of priming is that exposure at time 1 activates parts of particular representation or associations in memory just before carrying out an action or task. The representation is already activated at time 2, reducing the time required to execute the response. It is considered to be one of the manifestations of implicit memory. A property of priming is that the remembered item is remembered best in the form in which it was originally encountered, a feature of context-dependent memory or more precisely, transfer appropriate processing.

      I loved this episode. It answered a few things for me, but still kept me cautious on a couple of other implications.  I've been asked over the past week if I though Desmond and Penny's baby “Charlie” is Charlie Pace…This one of the issues I have with "time travel" ...If baby "Charlie" is the son of Desmond, remember, Desmond used Charlie and put him in danger, ultimately he died!  And if they're in a loop Desmond would have done that particular action more than once. So, no, I don't think it's Charlie Pace.
      The issues with blood relations being involved in a time traveling loop can become very tricky.  The whole "Grandfather paradox" type issues would come into play.   Maybe baby "Charlie" is just named after Charles Dickens who happens to be Desmond's favorite author.
      If we're talking about the "conscious mind traveling" is it really traveling, transcending the vastness of time and space.   If it's the conscious mind, how is everyone having physical contact with each other?   Maybe I'm wrong, but wouldn't said "traveler" only be able to be an observer in the Flashes?  The conscious mind deals with memory, recall, thoughts, perception, etc..

      Could we be seeing the manifestation of the traditional "time travel" problems, as with the "grandfather paradox"?   What about the randomness of the "times" landed in?   I'm not sure.
      I know I am trying very hard to connect the "time traveling" dots at this point and to find a link to connect the rest of the clues that are indeed there.  Honestly I feel like there's a major connection to a computer, altered states of consciousness and of course, a game.

      But I am more confidant with the "lineage" thread of our story.   A species of beings working on keeping the family line alive.   Is the "lineage" thread literal or symbolic/metaphoric?   Or are these namesakes just proxies, stand-ins or something more like body doubles?  Maybe they're just friggin bots!  Whether it's an ancient family line, a new family line, or a special bred/created line, it needs to keep a presence on the "Island".

      Love to all who are "LOST"

      Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right! The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either! You all know I hate spoilers! And I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Understood? Let the fun begin! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance.
