WALKABOUT.

Let's talk about LOST. Walkabout.

EYE. Locke's eye {color} opens.
He is waking up after the "crash"; his right foot is shoe-less. Charlie appears to be dazed/sleepwalking right in front of an engine. Shannon, dressed all in pink is screaming.   Jin is desperately yelling.
Locke wiggles his shoe-less toes. {Black socks, yellow trim. Bumble bee colors. LOL} He picks up his shoe and hears a dog barking.{He seems to be listening.} ....Barking continues...
...Barking... Night:
Locke just stares. Michael tells Walt to keep the dogs barking quiet. Walt doesn't know what's wrong with him. The dog tries to run off but he's on a leash that Walt is holding on to. This disruption wakes Shannon, Boone, Sun and Jin.
There are noises of things falling and crashing down from in the fuselage. Then they hear growls. Everyone wakes up. Charlie is sitting in a plane seat near the fuselage. The group, not panicking, wonders who is in there.
Sayid-"Everyone in there's dead."
Jack assumes it's Sawyer, but Sawyer is "Right behind ya, Jackass."
Jack takes his trusty tiny flashlight and heads over for a closer look. Sawyer's behind him with a big flashlight, and of course there's Kate and Charlie too. Sawyer impatiently sheds some light on this thing... He shines the lights...Growls!... Jack tells them all to "Run!"
Three boars come running out of the fuselage. Charlie falls and Jack picks him up {Again}.
Sawyer protects Kate.
Sayid protects Claire.
Jin protects Sun.
The three boars run into the jungle.
Locke smiles, happy to see boar.

Jack tends to the cut Charlie sustained in the boar run down. Jack feels the boar were there to feed. Charlie suggests burying them/bodies, "There's a whole bunch in there."
Sayid-"More than 20. Digging would be difficult without shovels."
Jack suggests burning them.
Kate is a bit taken aback by this, feels, "They're people!"
Sayid is upset, "Burning the remains, they deserve better than that."
Jack notes, any bodies they bury are not going to stay buried for very long; this is not about what the "bodies" deserve.    Jack tries to be logical about the bodies, "They're gone, and, we're not."
Sayid feels what Jack says may be true, "But for us to decide how these people are laid to rest, that's not right.No regard for their wishes, their religions."
Jack remarks they don't have time to sort out everybody's God.
Charlie-"Really. Last I heard we were positively made of time."
Jack's not happy about it either, but he reiterates the whole "crashed 1000 miles off course, looking for us in the wrong place" story. "It's been four days, no one's come." He tells them they'll get everyone to gather wood, Etc., and turn the fuselage into a furnace. They'll wait until the sun goes down tomorrow night before setting the fire.
Charlie questions about Jacks' waiting until sundown.
Kate-"He's hoping someone will see it."

Day:
Kate {orange shirt} is wringing out her white shirt and then heads over to sit with Sayid. He's working on something electronic. Apparently she's not the only one who didn't sleep last night. Sayid remarks he has better things to do with his time than collect fire wood. Kate asks what he's making. Sayid says it's too soon to talk about; he's not sure if it will even work.
Kate -"You're trying to pick up the transmission, aren't you? The one we heard on the transceiver."
He feels if the French woman's loop has truly been playing for 16 years, then there must be a significant power source on the island. Hypothetically he can find it. He's making an antenna of sorts. If he can place a few of them mounted at different points on the island, he may be able to use the transceiver to triangulate the signal, find out where it's coming from.
Kate asks what she can do to help.
Sayid-"It appears you're as anxious to get off this island as I am."
Michael gathers wood and sees Locke with a silver case. Walt is playing ball with Vincent. Locke opens a large silver suitcase. Walt, with Vincent on the red leash, wants to take a walk over to Mr. Locke to see what he's doing.   Michael obviously tries to distract Walt from that by suggesting he "help your dad with the wood. I'm sure Mr. Locke doesn't want a kid hanging around him all day, anyway."
Walt is annoyed-"At least he talks to me."
Walt walks away with Vincent.

Hurley is trying to get a backpack away from Sawyer.   He wants to know what Sawyer's problem is. We hear Hurley say "You're not happy unless you're screwing over..."
Boone tries to get them to stop.
Sawyer tells "Metro" to stay outta this.
Jack breaks it up. Apparently Sawyer is holding the last of the peanuts.
Sawyer claims, "My own stash, I found it in there." {Fuselage} There is no "rest of the food."
They ate it all; this concerns everyone.
Sayid assures the group "We can find food." They can find "sustenance."
Sawyer wants to know how they're going to find sustenance. All of a sudden a huge knife is thrown right into the plane seat next to Sawyer.
Locke threw the knife and recommends, "We hunt."
Kate wonders how he got that knife on the plane. Evidently he checked it.
Jack says to Locke, "You either have very good aim, or very bad aim."
Jack hands him back the knife. Jack doesn't know his name.
Michael, who seems a bit annoyed tells Jack, "Locke. His name is Locke."
Jack-"Okay, Mr. Locke. What is it that we're hunting?"
Locke tells them the wild boar are Razor back. The ones from last night were piglets, 100-150lbs each, which means there's a mother nearby; A 250lb rat.  Boars like to charge from behind, he figures it will take at least three of them to distract her long enough for him to flank one of the piglets, pin it and slit its throat.
Sawyer questions Jack given Locke back his knife. Jack asks if he has a better idea.
Sawyer-"A better idea than three of you wandering into the magic forest to bag a hunk of ham with nothing but a little bitty hunting knife. Hell no. It's the best idea I ever heard."
Locke smiles and uses his right foot to lift the top of the silver case and reveal its filled with various large knives. They're all a bit shocked.
Hurley wonders, "Who is this guy?"

The phone rings and Locke answers it. Locke is sitting at his desk in an office cubical.
The voice on the other end- "Colonel. Locke, is this line secure?"
Locke looks around to be sure, "Line secure GL12, go ahead."
GL12-"Target areas acquired. Maneuvers are a go for 13 hundred hours. Repeat. We are a go."
Locke-"Roger that. We'll convene at the usual rendezvous point at 13 hundred hours. {Military time for 1 pm} Locke's name is called out by his manager Randy who needs those "TPS reports done by noon today. Not 12:30, not 12:15, Noon." {He says the time backwards.}    Locke heard him the first time.
Randy- "And no personal call during office hours, Colonel." {How would Randy know him by Colonel?} Locke enters numbers in his adding machine...{Listen to the sounds very carefully!}

Kate holds a hunting knife.  Jack, wearing fabric around his neck, comments Kate is hunting boar now.
Kate-"Who says this is my first time boar hunting?"
Jack wants to know why whenever there's a hike into the heart of darkness, she signs up, "You know what's in there." {I've been asking the same fucking question for 4 years!}
Kate –"Actually I don't. And neither do you."
Kate's feeling on their new friend {Locke} "seems to know what he's doing."
Jack-"Call me paranoid, but anybody who packs a suitcase full of knives..."
Kate thinks Jack is worried about her and Jack thinks she has a problem staying in one place for very long and that seems to hit a nerve with her.   Kate tells him the "real" reason she's going on this hike is to help Sayid triangulate the distress signal they heard, find the source.
Jack-"This isn't about boars."
Kate reveals, "I'm a vegetarian."{Bullshit! She ate bacon and eggs with Ray Mullens.}

Walt is with Vincent on the red leash; he wants to go with Michael on the boar hunt.  Michael said he can't.

Sun is sniffing some plants she pulled out of the ground Roots and all.}
Of all the people around Michael who speak English, Michael asks Sun for help.
In English and body gestures/language, he asks her, "Ummmm. Ummmmm. I, am… going off...away...to hunt...and ummm...I.I.I...was wondering...if you...ummm...if you, could, uh, keep an eye, on my boy...Walt. And, And I'm Michael.   Anyway, uh could you watch him for me...Until I...come back."
She replies in Korean to him, apparently saying yes to his question.
Michael tells her he doesn't understand but asks "You're cool with this?"
Gives her the universal 'Okay" hand gesture.
Walt tells them "I don't need a baby sitter."
Michael tells Walt Vincent needs him "here" This will give him a chance to get to know Walt's friend Mr. Locke better.
Sun says something to Walt in Korean
Walt-"Yeah, whatever." {Did he understand her?}

Jack piles firewood for the burning of the fuselage.
Claire asks the "Doctor", {He wants to be called Jack.}
Jack-"Claire, right? How's the..."
Claire says he's doing fine.   Claire thought Jack should see the wedding plans/planner for Steve and Kristen.   They were sitting a couple of rows behind her.    Jack hands it back to her as he doesn't understand what he's supposed to do with it.   Claire remembers them because they looked so happy, "Some of us were wondering if we should do some kind of memorial service or something."
Jack could lead it; say just a few words, read off names from passports and drivers licenses. {How about lists while you're at it?}
Jack- "It's not my thing."
Claire will do it.
Boone notices Rose sitting alone looking out to the water.  Shannon is doing a crossword puzzle. When Boone comments about that woman's still sitting there, her husband was on the plane, Shannon asks him for a four letter word for "I don't care."
She nominates Boone, Captain America, to go talk to her. Boone talks about Shannon "starving". {He usually takes care of her.}
Shannon feels she won't starve because the ocean's full of fish.
Boone hates to break it to her, "The ocean's not gonna take your gold card."
Shannon-"You really don't think I can catch a fish?"

Locke finds that the "Ground here has been rooted up." {HEY! Sun just ripped a bunch of plants out of the ground, roots and all!}
He tells Kate and Michael that's how boars get the majority of their food, they dig; then they wallow in the dirt, rub up against the trees, scoring it with their tusks. He feels they're close.  {Kate the "boar hunter" would know that info.}

Charlie is in need of a fix.  Shannon comes upon him and he puts the drugs in his back pocket, "Shannon, right?" {He just went on a long hike with her and the transceiver group, and he's still not positive about her name?! WTF?}
She flirts and invites him on a walk; she wants to ask him something.
Charlie-"I wondered when this was gonna come up. Yes, I am the bass guitarist in Drive..." She cuts him off and asks if he knows anything about fishing. He tells her his grand dad used to take him out, taught me everything he knows, everything he knew, he's dead now, "God rest his soul."
Charlie admits to being a fishing fiend. I mean England's an island, so, I just throw it in and...fish."
Good.

One of the survivors uses the blue wheelchair as a wheelbarrow to cart wood for the fire. Boone mentions to Doc/Jack {Who is dealing with the fuselage} about the woman who is sitting by herself, "Maybe she's having trouble dealing with her husband".
Boone doesn't think she's had anything to eat or drink and maybe Jack should go talk to her.
Jack wonders, "Why me? I'm, I'm not a psychiatrist. I mean, maybe you should..."
Boone thought Jack would want to do since he's the one who saved her life.

Rose sits alone {rocking} holding her wedding ring on a chain. Jack sits with her; brings her water and a blue blanket.
Jack asks her, "You remember me? Seat 23A, I was the guy who told you not to worry about the turbulence."
He goes on to say everybody is getting worried about her. It's fine to be alone, but she has to take care of herself, "You should really drink."
She doesn't respond.
Jack says they don't have to talk, they can just sit for a while.

On the boar hunt Kate asks Michael how his son is handling all this.   Michael feels Walt's handling it a hell of a lot better than Michael is.
Kate, with her walking stick says, "You must be proud. He's a brave kid."
Michael can't take credit for that as he wasn't part of his life until his mother passed away two weeks ago. Locke is listening to their conversation.
Michael continues, "They were living in Sydney the past couple of years. I flew out last week to you know, go get him."
Locke hears groans.
Michael asks Kate what she was doing in Australia. Of course, no answer.
Locke-"Shhhh."
Locke hears something. To stay silent he points out the tusk scoring on the trees and signals to move forward. Quietly they approach and ready themselves. Locke gives them hand signals; pointing to his eyes and to watch/pay attention.
Michael-"Hey, quit giving us the steal signal."
With that, a boar charges at them! They all fall over. Michael has been gorged.
Locke is in a daze, looks at his foot. Kate tends to badly hurt Michael...
..."Move."

..."Move. Got to move, Colonel. Your troops are across enemy lines." A military game board with soldiers is set up in the break room.
Locke-"Patience, the quality which you lack, GL12, is the hallmark of a leader. {GL12 is drinking an Orange drink. Note under the ocean picture.}
Randy heads over to the snack/vending machine and mocks "Hallmark."
Randy wants Locke to tell him more about being a leader, "While you're at it, tell me about this Colonel thing."
Randy perused his file in Human Resources, you've never been in any of the armed forces." {Randy eats a granola bar.}
Locke tells him he's just playing a game it's his lunch hour, he can play a game. Randy continues the mocking, asks him "What's a walkabout?" {Magazine Randy holds says something about- explore the land down under.} "Experience the dream journeys of the fabled Australian outback."
Randy took it off Locke's desk.
Randy-"So you wander around, hunting and gathering food, right? On foot?"
Locke tries to explain to non-understanding Randy that a "walkabout it a journey of spiritual renewal, where one derives strength from the earth and becomes inseparable from it."
Locke has vacation days so he's going; he already made a reservation. GL12 asks he told Helen yet. Randy is amused that Locke has a woman in his life.
Locke- "That's none of your business."
Randy asks why Locke tortures himself, "Imagining you're some sort of hunter, and walkabouts? Wake up. You can't do any of that."
Locke tells Randy the story of Norman Croucher, the double amputee, no legs, who climbed to the top of Mt Everest because it was his destiny.
Randy- "That's what you think you got, Old man? Destiny?"
Locke is annoyed, "Just, don't tell me what I can't do."

Kate- "John. He's hurt. John, can you hear me? Locke! John, you OK?"
Locke still in a daze; he starts to stir, "I'm fine, I'm fine, Helen. I just got the wind knocked out of me is all."
Kate- "Helen?" {He called her Helen. Apparently his mind was somewhere else.} Locke is confused. He asks which way the boar went.   Kate wants to call off boar hunting because Michael's hurt; She ties up his right leg.
Locke instructs Kate to take Michael back to camp while he's gonna get that boar. They're surprised.
Kate- "What are you talking about?" {WTF, Kate? The people need boar!}
Locke, still appearing dazed/zoned, "I'm fine. I can do this."
Kate-"John you can't."
Focused Locke -"Don't tell me what I can't do."

Hurley is in the ocean with a pieced together spear.   He and Charlie are trying to catch a fish. Charlie thought Hurley could fish.
Hurley-"Yeah! Off the Santa Monica Pier, with my old man and a fishing pole and bait." He never had to poke on with a sharp stick. He tries to get one, but misses. He frustrated! He hands the stick to Charlie who wants to give it a go, "Knock yourself out."
Hurley sees a fish tells Charlie to "Put your weight into it. Wait for it..."
He misses too.{He was supposed to pin it or corner it, whatever, it didn't work. LOL}

Claire is going through luggage and finds an envelope with Sayid's name on it. She returns it to him.
Sayid, who's fiddling with wires, thought he lost it. He's very happy to sit back and look at the pictures of a woman who apparently makes him smile.

Jack is still sitting with Rose. Rose blurts out "His fingers swell." {When they fly.} She explains to Jack the reason she wears Bernard's wedding ring on the chain. He started having her hold on to it whenever they took a plane trip, is because his hands swell from the altitude.
Rose-"I always wore it around my neck for safe keeping. Just until we landed."
Rose tells the Doctor he doesn't have to keep his promise about keeping her company until her husband gets back from the restroom, "I'm letting you off the hook."
But she's not gonna get rid of him that easily. Jack feels she shouldn't be out there alone, "You're suffering from Post Traumatic Shock."
Aren't they all?
Rose takes the Oceanic water bottle, "You have a nice way about you. Good soul. Patient. Caring. I suppose that's why you became a doctor."
Jack thanks her,"I was kind a born into it. Family business."

In the jungle, Locke's on the hunt...

..."I have never felt so alive. Getting to finally tell Randy off, was... life changing. I mean it. Now, I'm free to do all those things I ever wanted to do.   Things that I know I was destined to do, like we talked about, Helen." {some sort of electronic machine on the bed table. American Flag, Red X. The messy room has American flag, plate on stand, open peanut butter jar, coffee pot}
Locke is in his bed talking on the phone to "Helen".
She tells him she's happy for him. He adjusts a knob on the machine. Locke goes on to tell her the best part, he's flying to Australia at the end of the week and he bought two tickets for the Authentic Aboriginal Walkabout. He invites her to go along. Helen reminds him she's not allowed to meet customers. He thought he was more than a customer to her. She tells him "This isn't really normal, this isn't what I do."
She suggests he maybe find a therapist or something. John admits to having a therapist, but he feels she knows him better than anyone. If he wants to chat longer, she'll have to charge him for another hour, $89.95. He doesn't care about the money. He's been talking to her for eight  months.
Helen ends the call. John is frustrated.

Kate helps Michael through the jungle. They stop to rest and so she can climb a tree and put up Sayid's antenna to boost the transceiver signal.
Michael-"I thought the guy with the gimpy leg should be deciding when we should rest."
She's apparently climbed a lot of trees.
Locke is still walking through the jungle.
Once Kate is just about to mount the antenna, trees crack, loud metallic noises. {Almost like Huge Metal doors or gates opening}
Kate drops the antenna as she watches the trees getting knocked down in a path, and says "Locke." {Go watch that!!}

In the jungle Locke hears boar sounds.Those squeals blend into metal and monster sounds. The trees move but he doesn't run. Then we see Locke respond to something appearing before him. Something of either growing size or rising above him. {We hear clicking sounds.} Locke doesn't run, he only looks up at it with awe, then concern. {Almost like he's going to cry.}

Sawyer gives Claire the wallets he took from the fuselage for her memorial service.   Walt plays with a tennis ball while he and Vincent sit with Sun.  He asks her, in English, "What is that?"
She understands him, replies and demonstrates her aloe plant toothpaste. She teaches Walt a Korean word.

Kate returns Michael to the beach. Walt seems impressed with Michael's injury. Sawyer sees Kate, "The mighty huntress returns."
What's for dinner?
Walt asks for Mr. Locke.

Boone shares with Shannon he doesn't think the hunt went very well, "That bald guy never came back." {NEVER! How long can it be that he's unaccounted for?}
Shannon seems more concerned with the lack of food, not lack of people.
Charlie appears with his catch of the day. He explains this one gave him a bit of a tussle "You have to get inside the mind of the fish."
Boone apologizes to poor Charlie, who has been used by Shannon to get food.
Boone- "Somewhere in your twisted little brain, you think this proves that you can take care of yourself."
Shannon told him she could catch a fish.
Boone-"That's low Shan, even for you."
She tells him to go rescue a baby bird or something.
Charlie's left just standing there.

Jack tells Rose that after the sun goes down, they're going to burn the fuselage and have a memorial service to say goodbye. Rose would like to be there for that. Jack asks if she'd like to say a few words about her husband; say goodbye to Bernard.
Rose-"Doctor, my husband is not dead."
Jack reminds her the tail section broke off in mid flight. Everyone from that section is gone.
Rose feels,"They're probably thinking the same thing about us."
Rose walks off.
Jack sees a man in a suit standing up by a tree.
Rose calls "Doctor."
Jack looks back, the man is gone.

Kate returns the broken antenna to Sayid, who is working on electronics. She jokes that she should have gotten a warranty. He is frustrated but will try again.
Sayid "has no welding iron, no rivets, scorched wiring and it seems I must continue to lie to anyone who asks me what I'm actually doing."
Kate tells him they'll try it again; he agrees.
Kate and Sayid seem like they share something.
Jack is relieved to see Kate {again}; he checks out the scratches on her face. She starts to tell him about Locke being gone, "That thing, it was moving in his direction. There wasn't time."
Kate asks what going on by the fuselage.  He tells her it's ready to go.
Jack tells her there's going to be some words said; names read.  The man in the suit catches Jack's eye again.
Kate- "I just don't think they're ready to hear about some of the things that we've..."
Jack runs after the man and Kate follows him.
Jack is focused following the man. He looks around and hears something. Locke walks out of the jungle covered in blood, dragging a boar. {Watch Kate}
Locke's NOT gone.

Night at the fuselage:
Claire reads names...Judith Martha Wexler from Dentin Texas.  She wore corrective lens and she was an organ donor.  Steve and Kristen, don't know their last name.  In love, and at least, where ever they are now, they're not alone. She reads someone's video store receipt lists overdue charges for Willie Wonka and The Little Princess.  They must have had children and they lived in L.A.. He hadn't traveled much according to his passport.

Hooded Charlie needs a fix.  He heads over to Kate.  She asks if he's seen Jack. Nope he hasn't.
Claire reads a name of someone sitting in seat 23C {Jack -23A. Where was this other person during the flight?}
Jack sits alone, away from the fuselage.

Michael felt the need to say something to Locke about killing the boar, "Nice work."
Michael- "So, that thing, the monster whatever...She said it was headed right towards you.  Did you see anything? Get any kind of a look at it?"
John says no.

A man/agent sits behind a desk in the Melbourne tour office explaining to Locke why he can't go on the walkabout.  The walkabouts they arrange aren't a stroll in the park.    It's trekking across vast stretches of desert, rafting bloody treacherous waters.  It's a trying ordeal for someone in peak physical condition.
Locke tells the man he has no idea who he's talking to.   He's well aware of what's involved and probably knows more on the subject than this man.  Locke booked the tour over a month ago and he demands a place on that bus.
In any case, the man says Locke misrepresented himself.
Locke never lied; he omitted info about his condition. Locke tells him is condition is not an issue as he's lived with it for the past four years, "It's never kept me from doing anything."
Unfortunately it's an issue for their insurance company; he won't keep the bus waiting any longer, it isn't fair to the other people.
Locke is frustrated, "Don't talk to me about fair!"
The man offers him a plane back to Sydney on their dime.   Upset Locke doesn't want to go back to Sydney, "Look, I've been preparing for this for years.   Just put me on the bus right now, I can do this."
The man knows No he can't and walks out to the little bus of travelers.   It is revealed that Locke is in a wheelchair.
Locke is very emotional, "Hey. Hey. Don't you walk away from me. You don't know who you're dealing with! Don't ever tell me what I can't do! Ever! This is destiny. This is destiny. This is my destiny. This is...I'm supposed to do this, Damn it! DON'T TELL ME WHAT I CAN'T DO! DON'T TELL ME WHAT I CAN'T..."

{Note green chicken on the bus and the ships wheel on the wall.} The bus leaves.

Flash to "crash" day.
Locke, no right shoe, wiggles toes.  Puts shoe on and looks up.   Stands up and gives Jack a hand with a rescue.

Locke stands at the memorial service, fire light on him. Claire continues reading names. {D'Agostino, from Teaneck New Jersey}
Locke sees the wheelchair off to the side, near the flames; Grins happily.

Norman Croucher is a mountain climber who, despite being a double amputee with 2 prosthetic legs below the knee, set out to climb Cho Oyu, not Mt. Everest.
Walkabout is AMAZING! We're seeing a man of possible importance.   Not only because he can now walk, but by evidence of the dialogue... His DESTINY.   We don't know who he is or who we're dealing with. He has a connection not only with the Island and the earth, but also the "Monster".     Locke now knows what he'd been preparing for was right here.   Locke lies to Michael about the monster.
As far as Jack, how does he really feel about being a doctor?   So it wasn't his choice to be a doctor? "Born into it."   Is it just because it was the family business.  What exactly is this family business.

I love this episode very much!   Just to wonder who Locke really is (because he's trying to tell us something important here.)  Let's be careful because here we've  been enlightened to John Locke MISREPRESENTING HIMSELF!    John may have been "lost" for a long time, but now he's found what he believes is his DESTINY.

Love to all who are "LOST"™

Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right! Things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either. I hate spoilers! I stand clear of reading certain sites, as to not take me off my own research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Good! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues in bold.

PLAY IT AGAIN- REPLAY-RERUN- DO OVER- REPEAT- REPETITION-RECURRENCE- REENACTMENT- REMATCH- CIRCLE-LOOP.

The time has come to present you with some discoveries I've been gathering over the past seasons.  Many fans have concluded they are nothing more than continuity errors or changes that occurred due to script development. Hmmmm.  It very well could be.  With the evidence of the LOOP or doing things over finally being brought to the surface in Cabin Fever, I thought it fun to see your thoughts on continuity versus different versions of things because of different go a rounds on that "Island".   Do we have more proof of connections and time lines?
There are many more "instances" than I bring up here. I have made note in past blog posting's when I noticed these types of issues.  Feel free to go back and see what was noted in in them. I will add to this section of the blog as I dig through my old notes and pictures.
And yes, I agree there are times continuity errors happen, everyone is human {Well, almost everyone! lol} but there are times it seems we're being BAMBOOZLED and thrown off course.

Things to keep in mind…
* Images/items and people that show up repeatedly in each other's stories.
* Documents with different dates- Or dates that don't "add up" or multiple birthdays.  Driver's licenses, certificates, admission forms, etc.  Let's not forgot that there are many times it's mentioned that someone has "NO I.D."    We've even seen items with no discerning markings/names/dates/company name/numbers, etc. Names spelled different. John/Johnathan, etc…
* Eye color changes. Emily Locke's eyes are one color, yet her license says another.
- Example- John's firearm license birth date 11/15/1946.  His driver's license birth date 3/30/1956. Or 5/30/1956.
- Emily Locke's birth date not adding up to when she was supposed to have John. Emily was born 10/15/40. It appears that the drivers license expiration date is 3/20/94, it appears to have been signed on 3/20/90. Her address 2448 Greenwood ave, L.A., Cal. 90019...she's 5'5", 115 lbs, hair brown, eyes BROWN. YET we've seen her with BLUE EYES.
* Oceanic wreckage already inside the caves.
* They all know their way around the "Island".  Only needing the use of a hand drawn simple maps.
* The Other 48 Days- Sawyer remembers leaving Michael behind, although Michael is here with him now.
* I've asked if Michael is in the Swan Hatch orientation video, if there are familiar faces in Geronimo Jackson or the "fan made" Hanso video.   Do familiar faces show up in more places than realized?
* Bullet scars missing/there.   Boxes with/without writing. Hair styles, clothes, colors, etc...
Again, I post the things I noticed just to show that things are there in plain
sight! Which are legit and which are errors or red herrings? Hmmm...

Love to all who are "LOST"™

Disclaimer:I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right!

Further Instructions

Let's talk about LOST! FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS.
Eye opens...John Locke; looking up at the trees. {Just as Jack did in the pilot episode} Locke hears the sounds of birds, nature and footsteps running through the jungle.  John tries to vocalize but nothing comes out.   Naked Desmond is running past looking around as if confused/lost.   Locke sits up; the right side of his head is bloody. He stands up, he looks strong. {Like Super Mario.} Eko's Jesus stick falls out of the tree and falls upon Locke. The scripture reads: HAB 1:3, LIFT UP YOUR EYES AND LOOK NORTH. John 3:05, GEN 13:14, ACTS 4:12, 4:8:15:16,     ROM 6:21.
Focused John approaches his beach camp tent. {with a hammock}
Claire and Charlie are hanging out and observe John disassemble his tent.  Claire wonders "When did John get back? What's he doing? Well, where's he been? Where is everyone else? Don't you think you should go find out?"
Limping Locke starts to take apart his tent. {removes the silver tarp}  This confuses Claire yet Charlie looks amused. {Charlie's shirt symbol 'a cross'.)  Claire wants Charlie to find out about Locke.

Locke is at Eko's church structure. He is building something within the structure.
Charlie–"So you're gone for a whole day after a massive hatch detonation. You don't call. You don't write."
Charlie asks him if he's interrupting something as Locke isn't paying attention to Charlie's small talk.
John can't speak.
Sarcastic Charlie mocks Locke a bit, asking if he's a mute. "I am sorry about that."  He also asks about Eko and Desmond, "Are they off being mute and building structures as well?"
Frustrated Locke tries to pantomime to Charlie that he needs to speak to the "Island".   John acts out his intentions and Charlie tries to interpret his actions: I.E. John needs to speak to church, the sky, sand, the trees "Yeah, I've heard they're wonderful conversationalists".   With his knife John draws a circle in the sand and Charlie guesses "Island".
Charlie-"You need to speak to the island."

Later, Charlie is working on the beach/Dharma food pantry/kitchen. Limping Locke gets a note pad and writes a note to Charlie with a sharpie permanent marker. {Cap in his mouth}
The note says "I need your help". {Charlie is standing on the table under the parachute roof}
Charlie-"Since when do you need my help?" {he says with an attitude}
Locke flips the page and writes 'I need u 2 stand guard'.
Charlie reads this aloud. He also tells John that he detests him. He reminds John of repeatedly punching him in the face and accused him of using heroine when he was not.
John writes another note '@ the sweat lodge'.
Charlie-"What the sodding hell is a sweat lodge?"
John prompts Charlie to follow him.
Flash Whoosh
Locke is driving a (blue) pickup truck. {Plate # 5Q49938. Road sign California 36.} Thunder is heard and it starts to rain. Locke picks up a young guy hitchhiking. {The guy wearing a Geronimo Jackson tee-shirt and an army jacket. Locke wearing a plaid shirt} The guy is headed to Eureka but Locke can get him as far as Bridgeville.   The hitchhiker hops in and tosses a large duffle bag into the bed of the truck and keeps his sling back-backpack with him.
This is Eddie.
Friendly Locke asks Eddie "What's in Eureka?"
He's shares that he's headed to Eureka for some work, cutting timber. John-"Is that what you do?"
Eddie doesn't know if that's what he does, "I just know I had to get out of where I came from; Mom's dead, Dad's a drunk." {Watch the look Locke gives here.}
The rain passes and stops.
A police officer pulls Locke over.
Eddie asks Locke, "What'd you rob a bank?"
Locke says seriously-"Afraid so."
The officer asks for his license and registration.
John-"Was I speeding Officer?"
The cop {Williams} informs Locke his taillight is out.
Officer Williams-"Will you both please step out of the vehicle."
They do. Williams asks what John has back here; referring to the back of the pickup truck.
Locke admits the groceries and guns are his; the transactions and paperwork for the guns are all in the RED notebook in the duffle. {Log books} {Important Note: Williams pulls back a silver tarp to reveal the guns}
The paper shows JOHNATHAN LOCKE. San Francisco USA Ca 94099. 5'10" 175 male D/O/B 11/15/1946 and it's 5/30/56 on his California drivers license..
Locke asks if they are free to go.  Williams threatens he could still take him in for picking up a hitch hiker.

Eddie lies and says Locke is his uncle, "I called him and he picked me up."
Locke is surprised.   Williams tells them to "get outta here".

Eddie-"So what is with all the guns? Uncle."
Locke just smiles.
Flash Whoosh
In the "Locke built" sweat lodge mixing up a batch of his magic paste. He takes a taste.
Charlie is inspecting the silver tarp made sweat lodge (and palm leaves) and comments that he likes the indoor fireplace, "very snazzy".
Charlie, still with the attitude, sees John taste the mixture and wonders, "What's that? You're not taking drugs, are you John? I only ask because of the strict zero tolerance policy you've enacted. And I wouldn't want you to have start punching yourself in the face."
Locke shows Charlie the note with "I need u 2 stand guard" note again. {NOTE the writing is different; words spelled different}
Charlie says he understands and he'll stand guard "out here" while Locke goes into his magic hut in case he devolves into a monkey.
Locke writes "Don't come in".   He wants Charlie to be clear on that rule and Charlie says he gets it.

{Charlie stands guard outside the sweat lodge/hut, but inside the church structure.}

Inside the sweat lodge Locke eats some of the magic paste while sitting (legs crossed) in front of the fire. He pours water on the fire and stares...waiting.
There is Boone. {His hair is longer than when he "died".} He touches John on his right shoulder and says "Hi John. It's good to see you again."
Locke tries to apologize for him-dying.
Boone-"What's that John?"
Locke mouths "I'm sorry."
Boone-"Oh. You're sorry. That's okay. But I was the sacrifice the island demanded" {How would Boone have heard Locke say that statement?}
John shakes his head no; tries to talk.
Boone-"Don't worry. You'll speak when you have something worth saying. I'm here to help you find your way again. So you can bring the family back together. {What family? Who?} Come on. I want to show you something."
Locke can't move his legs.
Boone shows Locke a  wheelchair on its side with a squeaking turning wheel, "John. You're gonna need that."
John looks puzzled. The wheelchair stands upright on its own.

We see the airport. International Departure Gates sign. Plane flying upward. Boone is wheeling Locke in the wheelchair. {We see the girl soccer team with the numbers on their backs.}
Boone- "John someone in this airport's in serious danger. You are the only one who can save them".
{We see Charlie, Claire and the baby, looking very happy-very family. Charlie is wearing a black tux jacket and rings on fingers. A cross ring on right pinky. Claire is wearing a ring on her left ring finger.}
Locke points at the little family.
Boone-"Not them. They'll be fine. For a while".
Then we see Jin, Sun and Sayid on (que) line. They are bordered by Red queue line.  Sun has tickets in her hand. The little passport booklets are RED. She also has a RED paper bag and gives it to Jin in anger. {Speaks Korean} Sayid prompts them to move forward.
Boone- "I think Sayid's got it."
Hurley is behind the Oceanic ticket counter. {In charge of tickets} He is wearing a uniform with a name tag says Hugo. "Next Please"   Hugo says with a smile.   He is entering the numbers into the 'old-Swan' computer. You can hear the computer reset.
Charlie is the next person we see immediately after Hurley says 'next please'.
Boone-"Not Hurley. {Hurley doesn't need saving}
We see Desmond dressed as a pilot descend the escalator with three women. The first woman is wearing Pearl earrings. His Pilot jacket has three stripes on the sleeve. {He is laughing; enjoying himself. I can't hear what he says}
Boone-"Forget it. He's helping himself."
Then we see Kate and Sawyer on line on the other side of a glass partition. She takes a bin and hands it to Sawyer. You can hear him say "Wipe the stars out of your eyes, Sweetheart." {Beeping} Sawyer takes a ticket or something out of her back pocket. He's holding a phone or walki talki.
Then we see Jack take off his watch, put it in the  bin and push it forward. Ben scans/wands him. Ben's patch has stars on it and his name tag says Henry Gale. Locke tries to wave his arms franticly as if to get their attention.
Boone-"There's nothing you can do for them. Not yet. First you have to clean up your own mess." {This line repeats over and over. We can see Kate push her bin forward.} Boone squats down to look at John. {Almost as if to say- 'Do you know what I'm saying?'}
Locke is troubled.
Locke has more blood on his head now. Boone is not there. Locke looks around for him. {There are 3 escalators.}
Boone calls out, "Come up here, John."
Boone is on the upper level waving him up...{You can hear the metal gear sounds we heard when John was getting pulled by "the monster".}
Locke who is unable to walk lays on the escalator and rides the steps up; ascending to the next level. There he crawls, puts his left hand in blood on the ground. {We see the number 2 behind him} There is the scripture stick with blood on it. Locke touches it with his right hand.
Boone-"Clean it up John. They've got him. You don't have much time"
{Boone bloody with ripped shirt. Who has who?}
Locke wakes up! He gets up to leave the sweat lodge but we see the brief image of a snarling animal.
Locke falls out of the sweat lodge. {It scared him.}

Charlie asked him what happened. Locke walks over and takes out his big knife.
Charlie-"What are you doing?
Locke speaks, "I'm going to save Mr. Eko's life."

Locke walks through the jungle with Charlie. Locke finds Eko's cross on the cord on a blade of grass and states that he/Eko was 'dragged' this way by the polar bear. Charlie recalls that "Sawyer killed the Polar Bear."
Locke-"Sawyer killed 'A' polar bear." {Conformation of more bears}
Locke discovers blood on the ground. He tells Charlie he's going to go on alone; Charlie should go back to Claire. Charlie says he'll take his chances.
Locke insists, "You don't want to go with me, Charlie. Bad things happen to people who hang around with me."
Flash Whoosh
John's truck gets let into a gate in a beautiful area with lots of trees. A child {Bobby} opens the gate for them and John gives the child jelly beans. {The gate has 2 animal skulls on it} The people working there all seems happy. They wave at John.
Inside we see a sweat lodge {with lite white smoke coming out of the top} and Eddie asks about the sweat lodge.
John explains it's for anybody who wants to go in there, light a fire and get it nice and hot and meditate; and then you're supposed to figure out what do with your life, what direction to take.  He tells Eddie "Go on in there and figure out if you're a farmer or a hunter.
Eddie-"So which are you John?"
John doesn't answer him; he just smiles.

The two guys walk over to a very large table where people are gathered for supper. Eddie is introduced to Mike and Jan. {Lots of ugly plaid shirts abound.} John tells them that Eddie is looking for logging work. The nice people welcome Eddie.
Mike mentions "John's a very special guy."
Jan tells Eddie to grab a spot. Mike comments on Eddie's interest of the band Geronimo Jackson. We also learn it's one of Eddie's Dad's old shirts. Mike says his dad has excellent taste.  Mike introduces the guest John brought to supper to everyone.   The group says "Grace" before eating. This includes John's speech of how he's thankful for the food,  friends and for the rain today so that Adam will stop grumbling about the droughts, "And for me. Thank You for helping me stop being so angry.  And for helping me find a real familyUh, because they're a hell of a lot better than the one I used to have so, let's eat. Amen."
Locke offers Eddie potatoes. They dig in.  Eddie thanks John.
Locke and Charlie continue through the jungle and they come upon the imploded hatch.
Charlie-"Is that the hatch?"
John-"What's left of it."
Charlie-"What happened?"  {WTF? Was he NOT fucking there? Charlie was there with Eko!}
Sad Locke says it looks like it imploded.

They come across an active kill where he also finds a tuft of white Polar Bear fur; deciding that whatever was eating the animal was a polar bear. With that they hear angry growls! They run and It is chases them! They stop and Locke throws his knife at 'It'.
That 'it' ends up being Hurley.
Locke's knife was stopped by Hurley's canteen.  {Where the fuck "It" go? Hmm...}
Hurley tells Locke about his adventures with the Others; that the Other's kept Sawyer, Jack and Kate, but they send him back to tell everyone else that "We can't ever go over there."  He also tells him that Henry is there and is like their "leader".
Locke stops and looks around.
Hurley-"So. What do we do?"
Locke is focused on his task at hand. He tells Hurley to do what they told him to do; Go back to camp and tell the others.
Hurley-"You're not gonna do anything?"
Locke-"I am doing something. Go back to the beach Hugo."
Hurley-"Wait, where are you guys going?".
Charlie explains that the "Island" told Locke that he has to save Eko. {Apparently a bear got him; he's just made an active kill. {Is this all an assumption?}
This concerns Hurley. "What bear?!"
Locke and Charlie move on.

They find more white fur. Locke directs them where to go. Charlie tells Locke about when he used to get high he watched nature programs on the B'b... Polar bears are meant to be quite clever. They're like the Einstein's of the bear community. {hehehe!} {Charlie's eye color change?}
They stop at a black rock; there is a cave.
Flash Whoosh
John and Eddie comment about a hot young girl walking by carrying flowers/plant in a basket.  Locke comments that "She's like half my age."
But Lizzy's too granola for Eddie. What she really wants is a daddy, like everyone else here. {WTF, Eddie? Was that a question asked on purpose to get a reaction?}
John doesn't find that funny. Eddie says he was joking. They grab their baskets and head out.
As they pass the table of peaches Eddie pursues the Daddy question with John. He wants to know how come he doesn't talk about him. John feels it's nothing worth talking about.
Eddie looks over his shoulder and asks "What's going on in that greenhouse over there?"     He offers to go over there and help them with the fertilizer.
John says No; they have Orchard Duty.
{The greenhouse door is silver/gray}

Later Eddie asks John, "What's the big secret,John?"   He wants to know about the greenhouse; what are they hiding
Eddie's been there for 6 weeks. John tells him he's still a guest there and these things take time, but Eddie wants info.
Eddie's not blind, "Did you forget that you had a duffle bag full of guns when you brought me here?"
He goes on to say "Mike and Jan fold their hands every night before chow and talk about how we're family. Your family has too many secrets. Now I see the fertilizer going into that greenhouse. I know what's going on. I want in."
He wants in on whatever you guys are trying to blow up.
Amused John laughs and tells him that he'll talk to Mike and Jan.

Back at the cave Locke prepares for his trip into the cave. He tells Charlie he's not to go in. Locke will do this alone. {It is AMAZING that Locke happens to bring ALL the right stuff in his backpack for a search and rescue into a Polar Bear cave. Including fucking hairspray.}
Charlie's annoyed, "You don't get to tell me what I can't do. If I want to go in there, I'll go in there."
Locke feels there's no reason for Charlie to go in there. He tells Charlie to go back. Locke's going in there because he's supposed to go in there.
Charlie-"If it all goes to plan, then we probably won't even see the bear, will we?"
Locke-"Hopefully he won't smell us."
Locke's all camo'd, hairspray in pocket, shares a smile with Charlie, lights his torch and heads in.

Hurley, still on his trek back to camp hears noises and thinks "bear".
He's afraid- "Bear... is that you? Who's there?"
A voice says, "Are you alone brother?"
Hurley says yeah.
Naked Desmond is revealed.
Surprised Hurley says, "Dude, I'm not alone" and shields his eyes. He asks Hurley for some clothes. Hurley asks what happened to his.
Desmond- "I woke up in the jungle like this."
Hurley surmises the hatch blew off his underwear. {Did Locke tell Hurley about the implosion? Locke looked kind of preoccupied before. Charlie was surprised by the implosion.} Hurley gives him a funky smelly tie dye shirt. {With a nice spiral pattern}

Locke walks in the dark cave lit only by his torch, kicks an old metal Tonka dump truck. {They haven't been made for years.}
Flash Whoosh
Whistling John (twirling a long stick) walks over to the greenhouse. He is told by the person standing guard {Kim} that Mike and Jan were looking for him. John feels then its "Good timing ."
Kim opens the door and lets him in.
Mike and Jan are running around frantic.  {Inside note the silver ductwork}
Mike wants to know where the cash is. Jan tells him it's in the bag with the money in it. {haha} He asks about bank records. Shouldn't they sort out what they can trace?
Jan tells him there's no time!
There are files and file boxes everywhere.
Inside this greenhouse is lots of weed. John asks what's going on. They are hurriedly packing everything up; they're leaving.
Mike tells idiot John that he screwed up big time, but John doesn't understand. "You're leaving?"
To show him why, Jan slams a file into his chest and reveals that Eddie is a cop.
Humboldt County Sheriff. Edward F. Colburn. Rank-Officer. Employee number-84023.
Mike-"Do you know how much jail time we would get for this much weed?"
Jan-"Nice picture, huh? Got him fresh out of the academy."
John is very confused as he feels Eddie was just hitchhiking. Jan says that he was there waiting for him! Eddie has been there for 6 weeks gathering evidence "because you brought him here!"
John finds this impossible.
Mike says that he "played you for a sucker. Now it's over."
John tells them to wait; stop! He knows that Eddie hasn't been in the greenhouse so he must still be gathering evidence, etc.. It's not too late to protect all of us. It's not too late to fix this.
John-"I can fix this."
Mike asks him how.
Flash Whoosh
In the bear cave John finds bones, human and animal skulls and canvas/bag with the Pearl station logo on it. There is injured Eko. They see each other. {Eko still seems responsive here.} Just then we see a bear grab Eko! Locke and the bear literally have a tug of war with Eko in the middle.   John takes out his trusty hair spray can and fires at the bear! The bear backs off.
John helps Eko out of the cave to where Charlie is. They both pick up Eko and head back.

Hurley and Desmond on their walk back to camp are discussing what happened with the hatch.
Hurley inquires, "When you say turned a key, do you mean a key, key?"
Desmond-"It was a failsafe key."
Hurley-"That seems kind of convenient...I'm just sayin' if you had this magic key the whole time, why didn't you like... use it?"
Desmond-"I didn't know what would happen."
Hurley-"So what did happen?"
Desmond-"The fail safe key must have detonated the Electromagnetic anomaly. Made the hatch implode."
Hurley-"And you didn't implode?" {Nope. Desmond was at ground zero and he didn't implode! That is very convenient and suspicious.}
Desmond- "No."
Hurley- "You're not going to turn into the Hulk or something?"
Des scoffs.
Hurley- "So is that what made the blender noise and the sky turn purple?"
Desmond's afraid he missed that. Hurley sarcastically mentions the fail safe-ing.
Hurley-"FYI, The whole island vibrated. And Kate and Jack and Sawyer saw it too right before they had bags pulled over their heads."
Desmond tells him not to worry, "Locke's gonna go after them. He said so in his speech."
Hurley wants to know what speech because all Locke said was that he was gonna save Eko and kill bears.   Desmond has a realization that maybe that part {didn't really happen yet}, and chalks it up to being shook up.

Charlie and Locke carry Eko. Locke comments about burning the bear pretty good.
Charlie-"Now that we've survived this suicide mission, do you want to tell me what you saw?...In the spirit tent."
Locke tells him he saw Boone and that Boone told him to clean up his own mess.
Charlie-"As dead as he may be. I agree with Boone. If you would have kept pressing that button like Eko told you too..."
Locke-"We wouldn't have had to save Eko in the first place. Yeah. Charlie, that's what cleaning up your own mess means."
Charlie-"Spoken like someone whose had few too many messes to clean."
Flash Whoosh
John and Eddie are in the woods deer hunting.
Eddie asks him if he's spoken to Mike and Jan yet.
Locke says yes and that he should bring him by the greenhouse tonight after supper and they would explain everything. Eddie thinks that great.
John acts like he spotted a deer over Eddies shoulder. {Both the rifles have scopes on them.} John has the gun pointed at Eddie.
John- "Did you know it would be me? In the truck? Did you know it would be me driving? Did they choose me?"
Eddie- "They? John. I have no idea what you're talking about."
John informs him that his rifle isn't loaded.
Eddie admits "Yeah, They chose you, John...Because you hadn't been here long, didn't have a criminal record and psych profile said you would be amenable for coercion."
Eddie demands he lower the gun.
John is confused/hurt by all this.
Eddie tells him it isn't personal, he starts to back away and John orders him to stop.
Eddie isn't worried because John won't shoot him, "You're not a murderer. You're a good man. You're a farmer."
John-"Nope. Not a farmer. I was a hunter. I'm a hunter." {WAS?}
Eddie tells him is going to walk away. John cries with the gun still pointed at Eddie back. It appears that he lowers the gun.
Flash Whoosh
Locke and Charlie stop to rest with Eko under a tree. They hear a stream. They need water for Eko. Charlie offers to go fill up the water bottle.
John apologizes to Eko {Who appears unconscious.} "I'm sorry.  Sorry I ever doubted ya. Sorry... I gave up on my faith in the Island. I messed up. Now our people are captured and... if I'd just listened to you, if I just let you...keep pushing the button. I could've gone with 'em. Protected 'em. I could have saved 'em."
Eko speaks, "You can still protect them. {Eko's eyes open but he doesn't move} You can still save them".
Locke- "I don't, I don't even know where they are."
Eko-"You will find them. After all... you are a hunter, John."
Charlie returns and John informs him Eko's awake, but he is not!   John tries to give him water.
Charlie-"Maybe we should just...get him back, John."

At the beach Claire is washing things.
Paulo is sleeping against the tree with a water bottle.
John, Charlie and Eko arrive. Paulo, Nikki run over; Hurley is there. They gather around them. They wonder if he's alive.   Nikki says they need Jack.
Hurley informs them "Jacks not coming back. They've got him."
They are confused that "Jack's gone."
Nikki- "When were you planning on telling us this Hurley?"
Paulo- "Who's they?"
John -"They are the Others. And yes, they've taken Jack and Kate and Sawyer…I'm gonna find our friends. I don't know how yet, but I will.  We're gonna find them, all of them.  And then we're gonna bring them home. But first things first...We gotta look after Mr. Eko. Paulo, Nikki, bring towels and water...Claire we gotta clean him up so bring the first aid supplies you can find."
Desmond is shown in Hurley's tye die shirt, throwing rocks into the water
Hurley realizes this is the speech that Desmond mentioned.
How did Desmond know ahead of time this would happen? Hurley says to Charlie that he just got hit with Deja vu... {FRIGGIN YES!!!}
Charlie-"Okay, Well, when that wears off can you get bandages from the kitchen?"
Hurley looks impressed.
Desmond is throwing rocks into the water.

Further Instructions is a GREAT EPISODE! And one with lots of information and ties to other episodes.
I have been talking about the clues/answers with the Locke vision since the day it aired.  When are John's "Flashes"  from?  How long is he with the commune?  Was a hunter? Is a hunter...Hmm?

There is another reference to something being built on the "Island".
Why would the implosion make John mute?

It is clear to me that this experience or at least parts of it, is happening while they are in an altered state/dream state, etc.  It is shown to us all over this episode.
Another very important bit of info given to us is that John Locke's role on the "Island" is very important and his purpose there is for the overall greater good.

THIS IS MAJOR IMPORTANT:
- Locke's D/O/B is 11/15/1946 in this episode and it's 5/30/56 on his California drivers license. In Deus ex Machina is mother Emily's D/O/B is 10/15/40... Was she 6 years old when she had him? 106? Maybe she's not his birth mother. Maybe more of our Losties are adopted or is "Locke's" whole life a lie?
Also from that episode, Deus Ex Machina, Locke has the vision with a bloody Boone and his mother. Locke is in the wheelchair.
With the scripture on the stick that falls upon Locke, although that is scripture, I can't help but note how it's chapters are written out.  They look more like time on a digital clock.

*Cutting timber- Sayid's friends in the apartment were 'tree cutters' too. We also know now that Horace was cutting trees in season 4 dream.
* The cop's uniform only has his Name-Williams, County Police. No other details.
* Locke eats the magic paste. When he made it for Boone it was put on open wound on his head.
* Hurley mentions the Hulk. Comic book character. A young man who was exposed by Gamma rays/Radiation, giving him the ability to become The Hulk.
* Is this the last we ever see of Eddie?
* Something/What is being grown, nurtured, harvested? WHAT? The Orchid Station.
* Who is in Geronimo Jackson?

VISION NOTES:
All these notes are original notes from 10/2006 with the added elements in red, of some things we know now (as of S4).   Go back and look at things I highlighted in the episode part of these notes.   The following are just extra things I wanted to point out.
* Locke's self induced hallucination/vision.
* Boone, a "dead" person is here to help John find his way. To bring what family back together? Who is family here? Who is related? We know now that Jack and Claire are related.
* Locke needs a wheelchair. Why? When?
* Boone- "John someone in this airport is in serious danger. You are the only one who can save them." EKO WAS NOT IN THE AIRPORT. John's next step is to find Eko and get instructions from him/stick. John does not save Eko.   Eko is not meant to be saved; he "dies" anyway.   It's info from the stick and "something" Eko tells him that must be part of John's "Further Instructions."   This is a 'means'/clue to get further instructions to John. Eko even used this term with John in '?'.
* NO WHERE IN THE VISION IS EKO MENTIONED AND TOLD TO BE SAVED.  Isn't it possible that John fucked up the interpretation of the vision. This episode is about John screwing up.
* Eko had vision/dream of Yemi/Locke wheelchair. There are ties with both.
* Signs in the airport. "Departure". Who is departing? Departure to where?
* Charlie and Claire will be alright-literally for a while. That was true.
* Charlie is next to die. And Charlie does indeed perish in the Looking Glass.
* Could Claire also be at risk for something? What about Aaron? We now see Claire with Christian at the end of season 4. And Aaron is with Kate.
* Hurley doesn't need help. He seems to be in charge of something. He has a role of importance here. He is working the check in counter/numbers. He is not a passenger.   Does he leave the "Island"?  Uh...I'm not sure. He may be more important to the "Island".   Does he get to decide who does leave?
* Jin and Sun conflict/baggage. Sayid moves them ahead. Are they VIP's, as it can be interpreted that they are in the First Class line.   Plus are they going to be able to leave the Island? I think may be the case. So yes.
* Desmond is wearing a Pilot uniform. What is he the pilot of?  The 3 girls...Does that represent his supposed 3 years on the "Island"?   One girl has Pearl Earrings. The Pearl station. Does he have ties to the Pearl Station? Hmmm?!!   Is Desmond's turn over?   Desmond is helping himself!  How? Will he use people to get what he wants?  Most likely. I feel and noted in my posts that Desmond used Charlie in season 3 to get to Penny.   He also is not a passenger. He's the pilot. Maybe more on the pilot thing is yet to be revealed.
* Desmond Descending-Locke Ascending.
* Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Ben on the other side of the glass. They are in line for departure. Just as Sun, Jin and Sayid are in line. {Ben's badge says Henry Gale} Jack gets' scanned by Ben, passes security. Just as Christian got scanned by Ana Lucia.
* Jack puts his watch in bin and moves it forward/through. Jack goes "home"!   Watch/Time and the "Island".
* How many are going "home"?   Jack. Kate. Sayid. Sun. Jin. I'm not 100 % sure about Sawyer because we see him take something out of Kate's back pocket. What could that represent? Maybe he 'takes' her ticket, so to speak. Maybe he saves her life. NOTE: We do know now Jack, Kate, Hurley, Sun, Sayid and Aaron leave the "Island".   So, besides seeing who leaves, we then have to find out who stays behind on the "Island", and who "dies."
* Locke's mother wears pearl earrings in season 4 Flash.
* John ascending the escalator the number 2Is that the next level?
* John doesn't have much time. Time. Does John not have enough time on the "Island"? Does time run different on the "Island"? Does time run slower on the "Island". If time runs slower, could that be clue to something about infamous time/space? How about the other extreme? What if the "Island" was hidden by water?
* A clue to two sides? And 2...
* Missing from this vision is original Castaway Rose who is still alive. I wonder why?
* John has to clean up his own mess. That is what has to happen first!
* I note that the first part of There's No Place Like Home should have been called Further Instructions part 2.
***Boone tells Locke in the vision "They've got him" and Hurley tells the camp "They've got him" talking about Jack!

It's important to note events and revelations of the Locke/Boone vision that has come to pass (such as Charlie dying, the Oceanic 6 go home, etc.) did NOT happen immediately after this episode. So couldn't there be other things mentioned by Boone, that weren't meant for the "immediate", maybe they were for events yet to happen. Events that are coming up now and may include the episodes Cabin Fever and There's No Place Like Home...and beyond.

AD OCULOS.

Let's talk about LOST! Ad Oculos.

WAKE UP!
Sleeping. Dreams. Hallucinations. Visions. Illusions and Memory.
These occurrences, all happening in some form through the conscious and unconscious mind  are all part of the story.
Eyes closed...Eyes open. But are their eyes ever really open?
We see a constant thread of people on the "Island" being told to "wake up."   I've talked about the blurring of what is real and what is not real for a very long time. "Flashes" and  some "Island" events seem out of  order  or they just seems "off".
In the episodes we are shown events that are happening on the "Island" and shown in the "Flashes" actually connect and blur with each other.

Here is one example: In the episode White Rabbit, Jack is looking for Christian on the "Island".    He sees Christian around the island and asks "Where are you?"    In the "Flash" Jack is looking for his father in Australia.    In the "Flash" he wants to know where Christian is.   Jack's quest is happening twice and in two environments; they are blurring together.   Jack is obviously "looking" for something and needs to confront it.   Maybe what he needs to find is himself.

Let's look at the blurring of "Island" and "Flash" events and even items in The Hunting Party. On the beach we see Jin pick up a green towel when he is packing to go after Michael, then in the "Flash" we are shown a green towel hanging in the locker room when Jack and Christian discuss Mr. Busoni dying.  Why is it there?  Is it there to possibly show us they're not really out of the confines of the "Island"?  Are they "props" or an innocent continuity error?  Or maybe it's a clue to time...As in its happening at the same time.
This type of thing happens all the time not just with items but with clothes, sounds, dialogue, situations and "people" as well.
In the episode ?, one of the on "Island" events is Eko having a dream/vision of a "dead" Ana Lucia and "dead" Yemi, telling him to find the "question mark."    In Eko's "Flash" he is sent to question (Investigating) the drowning of an "un-dead" girl.   The girl, Charlotte, appears to have drowned although her father, Richard Malkin, the psychic, explains to Eko while she was underwater her body shut down; she went into hypothermia which made her appear dead.
The "Island" events we have to deal in the same episode are with  "dead" Ana Lucia and Libby. With all that said, are the clues telling us that Ana Lucia and Libby appear dead but they are not?  There are many other clues in other episodes that depict people appearing "dead" but are not "dead" present themselves.
Could there be some game of "Playing Possum" going on here?
But we'll get to more on that in another post, back to the things that go on in the heads/minds/consciousness of the "Islanders". (And my screwed up head. lol!)
We know that Hypnagogic hallucinations can occur as one is falling asleep and
hypnopompic hallucinations occur when one is waking up. Hallucinations
may also be associated with drug use, sleep deprivation, psychosis, neurological disorders and delirium. Hallucinations occur in any sensory modality, visual, auditory, smell, taste, touch, proprioception, equilibrioception and thermoception.

Dreams are the images, thoughts and feelings experienced daily, replayed in various ways while we sleep. But here on the "Island" I feel there are some thoughts and experiences that are manipulated/played out in their heads/minds.  {Other times there may be the use of video imagery and/or holograms being utilized, like when Shannon sees missing Walt and his dialogue runs backwards or when Claire sees her pregnant self in the jungle with Ethan, to contribute to their on "Island" journey}  Can this be where or how the whispers come in? Being in a state of semi-consciousness, in between sleep and awake could have the semi-lucid dreamer in this experience hear things going on outside of the dream/experience. We all have experienced this.
You can go back through any of my past posts to review more insight to illusion, form constant, delusion, dreams, lucid dreams, Folie a deux, imaginary friends, simulated and merged reality, the conscious/subconscious mind etc..

Where could all this be taking place?  Is it on an "Island", an underwater city or underground city?  Maybe "some place" you would have never imagined them to be. Either way I'm sure there are many "rooms".

Over the next couple of compositions I'll post, I would like to have fun exploring some very important visions/dreams/hallucinations/etc..  We will talk about all of them in some form.  Let's see where they lead us. WoooooHoooooo! Good Times!

Let's start at the beginning. This is from the Promo for season 1.
Whispering, echoing.Voices speaking and repeating the following statements… Very dream-like….
Bare feet. Kate dances close with Jack. "All of us have a secret."
Jin dances with Sun."1 of us is a hero."
Sawyer dances, distant from Kate. He is looking back.
Claire walks alone, looking up.
Sun, dressed in black, dances with Jin, breaks away from him. "1 of us is a fraud."
Kate seems to want to leave Sawyer.
Charlie dances alone. "1 of us is a junky."
Michael with a suitcase is stumbling/stepping backward. {Almost getting pulled back.}
Boone dances with Claire.
Kate dances tenderly with Jack. "1 of us is a cop."
Shannon dances with Sayid.
Jack twirls Kate, she lets go of him, steps back. "1 of us is a saint."
Kate dancing with Sawyer. "1 of us a sinner."
Sun and Jin dance. "1 of us is a martyr."
Boone dances with Claire.
Locke conducting. "1 of us is a murderer."
Jack and Sawyer face each other.
Hurley walks alone, pulling a suitcase. "All of us are guilty."
Walt stands in front of Locke, both of them conducting. "All of us."
Kate dances with Jack. "All of us are lost."
Claire sits alone by fiery wreckage.

I've asked this question before… Who is orchestrating this dance?
Hmmm?!
If it means anything, pay attention to color and clothes they are wearing.
Sawyer wears a black vest. Boone wears a white vest.
Also listen to the statements and who is speaking it and who it is showing at the time.
We see Kate in the middle of Jack and Sawyer going back and forth between the two men.
We see Boone with Claire, Sayid and Shannon, Charlie dances alone.
Michael being pulled back. Hints to going back.
I've always felt we get a glimpse into the story with this TV ad.
Please note, as with the Locke/Boone vision in Further Instructions, we are left without any visual or info of original survivor Rose. Who knows…Maybe Rose could be the center of the compass.

Locke dream/vision from Duex Ex Machina. We do not realize it is a dream until we see Locke "Wake up".

Dream:
Daylight. Locke is picking up the pieces of the broken Trebuchet. Boone arrives at the site. Locke tells him, "You're late."
Boone asks, "Late for what?"
Locke- "Late for work."
Boone-"I think I'm done working, John."
Boone goes on to tell John "This is useless. You can't open that thing up. You say you can, But you can't."
John-"Don't tell me what I can't do."
Boone says John doesn't get it, "It's a dead end. You're not getting in."
John tells him that's impossible, 'We didn't find this by accident. We're supposed to…"
Boone cuts him off, walks over and stands on top of the hatch, "Oh, we're supposed to. We're supposed to find this, right? We're supposed to open it, right? Then tell me something John, If we're supposed to open it, the why the hell haven't we opened it yet?!"
John tells him the Island will send them a sign. (Animal sounds in background.)
Boone mocks him "The island will send us a sign."
John tries to explain to Boone that their faith and commitment is being tested. "But we will open it! The island will show us how."
Boone, "What kind of sign will the island send us? Huh, John?"
The sound of a small yellow and white plane puttering its way to the island; Black smoke trails it. John asks Boone if he saw that.  Boone is staring up. We catch a split second of him bloody. John looks troubled. The sound of a "boom" crash can be heard and then the sound of glass breaking. John turns to see "His mother" in her fur coat, pointing up. {Cranking sound like when the monster pulled John.} Bloody Boone repeats over and over, "Theresa falls up the stairs. Theresa falls down the stairs. Theresa falls up the stairs."
{Radio static. Sounds like a woman screams "John!"}
Boone voice is now distorted, "Theresa falls down the stairs. Theresa falls up the stairs. Theresa falls down the stairs.
Locke is in the wheelchair. His mother is still pointing up.
Boone still repeating "Theresa falls up the stairs, Theresa falls down the stairs."
Locke is upset and can't move his legs; he tries to get out of the wheelchair. "No. No. No. Please. Please. Don't take it back. I'm…."
He falls out of the wheelchair. Locke wakes up; It is night.

Vocabulary…And Research….
* Hypnosis is a wakeful state of focused attention and heightened suggestibility, with diminished peripheral awareness.
* Self-hypnosis (auto suggestion) happens when a person hypnotizes himself or herself.
* Post-hypnotic suggestion can be used to change people's behavior outside of the trance state. Post-hypnotic suggestions are administered by a hypnotist and may optionally include a time scope. An altered sense of perception or behavioral pattern may be "programmed" into the person under hypnosis. Certain sequences of events may be set as triggers to enter or exit the post-hypnotic pattern.
* In a July 2001 article for Scientific American, titled "The Truth and the Hype of Hypnosis", Michael Nash wrote that "...using hypnosis, scientists have temporarily created hallucinations, compulsions, certain types of memory loss, and false memories, and delusions in the laboratory so that these phenomena can be studied in a controlled environment."
* Asklepios, Greek god of medicine, healing, and hypnosis, was said to oversee the treatment of sick people in "dream healing temples".
* Hypnotism as a tool for health seems to have originated with the Hindus of ancient India who often took their sick to sleep temples to be cured by hypnotic suggestion as also found to be the case in ancient Egypt and Greece.
* Paracelsus (1493-1541), A Swiss was the first physician to use magnets in his work along with hypnosis.
* Ivan Petrovich Pavlov was a Russian physiologist, psychologist and physician. Pavlov is widely known for first describing the phenomenon of classical conditioning.
*Partial sleep, to the idea that it is "hyper-suggestibility. J.D. Morgan, who put for the idea that hypnosis is a process of enhancing or depressing the activity of the nervous system, possibly involving feedback loops.
* Sleepwalking. The sufferer engages in activities that are normally associated with wakefulness while he or she is asleep or in a sleep-like state. They are simply not conscious of their actions on a level where memory of the sleepwalking episode can be recalled.
* Sleep Paralysis is a common condition characterized by transient partial or total paralysis of skeletal muscles that occurs upon awakening from sleep or less often while falling asleep.
* Covert Hypnosis is the ability to subtly communicate with another person's subconscious mind without them noticing.
* Many animals, including sharks, beetles snakes and opossum, are capable of appearing to be dead to an observer, but are alive. This could either be a reflex action, as in tonic immobility, or a defense mechanism for avoiding predators.

Let's remember this LOST fans…A chicken can be hypnotized or put into a trance too. lol

So until the next few visions....
