Everybody Loves Hugo

Let's talk about LOST.     Everybody Loves Hugo.
"In a world full of conflict and strife...there is but one fact we all can agree upon...Everybody Loves Hugo. Born to humble surroundings, Hugo Reyes has always been a beacon of light for all who cross his path. Now Hugo's lifelong love affair with chicken led him to acquire and then expand the Mr. Cluck's chain into a worldwide phenomenon.  The exponential growth of Hugo's success was startling.  But financial success wasn't the end... it was the beginning. Hugo and giving became synonymous.  Parks, playgrounds, hospitals, the Mr. Clucks house for children. The philanthropy was unparalleled.   Which brings us to this evening and the opening of the Hugo Reyes Paleontology wing at the Golden State Natural History Museum. A lasting beacon of culture that bears the name of one of our cities greatest benefactors...Ladies and Gentlemen...our man of the year...Hugo Reyes."
When he stands to the applause of the room his mom looks unimpressed.
The "Flashes of snapshots" from Hugo's life is displayed during the speech.{A farm, as an infant/mom, baby, grand re-opening, w/box of chicken, Mr. Cluck's in Paris,Mt Fuji, Egypt, shaking hands with people at a Construction site/hardhats, w/NuNu, kids and chicken suit guy at a zoo w/elephant, ribbon cutting, experimental farm,etc.}
{Note: When Cheng says hospitals the image of Hugo in front of BOX2 is shown}
The master of ceremonies is Pierre Cheng/Candle/Wickman/Halliwax.

While leaving the event Hugo tells his mom about another event in his honor next Saturday night; The Human Fund. {The trophy is an opaque piece of glass in the cutout shape of a T-Rex.} "Can you make it?"    Apparently Hugo receives many trophies.
Unimpressed and bored Mom remarks that everybody loves Oo-go, "You know who doesn't? Women."
She feels Hugo needs a woman in his life especially on who has not "nursed" him. While Hugo feels he's too busy to meet someone his mom feels the real reason is that he scared. Hugo says he's not scared. This pleases mom as she reveals he has a date tomorrow with grandpa Tito's neighbor's daughter Rosalita; she agreed to lunch with him. When Hugo asks what she's like, angry mom replies, "Willing to meet you! You're going! She's gonna love you. And if she doesn't...we will find someone who does."

Hurley changes the dead flower to a bright new fresh one at Libby's grave marker at Boone Hill.
Hurley kneels down and talks to Libby. "A lot of crazy stuff's been happening. I kinda wish I could talk you about it in person. A lot of people come and talk to me when they've...you know...gone. It'd be nice if you did too."
Ilana walks over asking Hugo if he's ready to go. "Once I'm back we're leaving."   She says she's going to the Black Rock because they need dynamite to destroy the plane. Hugo asks if she's sure that's the right move. Ilana isn't sure, but it's the only move they have.
Hurley-"Well, you're the expert."  {Some expert, huh?}
Ilana asks whose grave it is.
Sad Hurley shares her name was Libby and was in the tail section of the plane. They were gonna have their first date, like a picnic and then she was murdered. Ilana is sorry.
Hurley-"Yeah. Me too."
Ilana walks away. Once alone Hurley hears whispers.
Michael appears and informs Hurley he's there to stop Hurley from getting everyone killed. Hurley stays quiet while holding his dead flower.
Michael-"You gonna say something?"
Hurley-"And why should I trust you? You murdered Libby and Ana Lucia."
Michael-"That doesn't right matter now. What matters is you going across that Island to blow up that plane. People are gonna die.  A lot of people and it's gonna be your fault. {What?!} Because people are listening to you now, Hurley!"
In the distance Jack calls "Hurley".    Jack wonders who Hurley's talking to.
Hurley-"No one."
Jack-"Come on. We're leaving."
{Air plane engine/sounds-rumble}
Hugo is down to his last homemade tortilla chip in the basket. The waiter offers him more and starts to remove the other place setting but Hugo has him leave it because he's meeting someone and she's running late.
Waiter-"Right. Chips are on the way."
Hugo looks over the Spanish Johnny's menu.
Libby appears at his table. "Hugo."
Hugo looks over the top of the menu and sees this woman. He wasn't expecting someone like her; someone so pretty. He invites her to sit.
Hugo-"You don't look like a Rosalita."
She informs him her name isn't Rosalita, it's Libby.
Hugo-"So, you're not my blind date?"
Nope, she just saw him from across the room. She apprehensively mentions if she tells him how she knows his name he'll think she's crazy.
Hugo-"No I won't."
Libby reaches across the table and takes hold of both his hands. "Hugo. Do you believe that two people can be connected...Like soul mates?"
Hugo-"I guess."
Libby is getting teary eyed, "You don't remember me, do you?"
Hugo-"Should I?"
Dr. Brooks walks over and asks Elizabeth what she's doing. "Are you bothering this man?"
Libby claims Hugo to be an old friend. Dr. Brooks apologizes, explaining she wandered off.
Hugo-"Wandered off from where?"
Nearing tears, Libby tells Hugo that everything she said she meant.  They look in each other's eyes for a moment.
Dr. Brooks-"Forgive us."   He literally pulls Libby away.  Hugo is left surprised and confused.
Hugo walks outside to watch Libby get into the white van.  They wave at each other.

Ilana returns to the beach telling everyone they have to make it to the outriggers and across the channel to Hydra Island before nightfall. She tells Richard she retrieved four sticks of {totally shitty ruined sweaty leaking} dynamite; enough to destroy the cockpit and all the instruments. "That plane'll never fly."
Hurley doesn't think the whole unstable dynamite thing is a good idea. Ilana wants him to trust her because she's been training her whole life for this.
Hurley-"To blow stuff up?"
Ilana-"To protect you."
Hurley-"Yeah, but, how's blowing up the plane protecting us?"
Ilana starts piling water bottles into the dynamite bag, "With that plane gone, that thing wont be able to  leave the Island."
Hurley-"Yeah, well, neither will we. And then we'll be stuck here with it and then it'll be angry at us.
Ilana-"Jacob said Richard will know what to do.  And Richard said to blow up the plane, correct?"
Richard - "Yes."
Hurley- "Well, Jacob never said anything about it to me. I mean what if Richard's wrong?"
Richard is just watching Hurley.
Ilana-"Hugo, I'm looking out for your best interest...all of you!  Nothing is more important than this. That thing is evil. And god help us if it ever leaves this Island...Because if it eve..."
Upon jamming her last water bottle into her bag, Ilana is blown to bits!
Locke is whittling a very long stick with his big knife.  Sawyer asks him if it's going to be a spear.
Locke-"I'm not sure what it's gonna be yet, James. When the time is right, it'll tell me."
Sawyer-"You talk to wood now?"
Locke wonders if there's something Kate and Sawyer want him to do.
Frustrated Sawyer wants Locke to do "anything!"  He feels the bastards on the other Island grabbed Jin and they're just sitting around twiddling their damn thumbs doing nothing about it.
As he continues to whittle, Locke shares, "There's a difference between doing nothing and waiting."
Kate asks what they're waiting for.
Locke waves his knife-"You were only able to come back to this Island because you all did it together.  If we're gonna get on that plane and leave it has to happen the same way. We're waiting for your friends to get here, Kate.  Hugo, Sun, Jack.  That's the only way we're ever getting off this... god forsaken rock."
Kate-"Well I don't see that happening."
Locke-"Well let's just hope you're wrong."
Sayid saunters into camp and Sawyer asks him where he's been.  Sayid needs to speak to Locke in private; the two men walk into the jungle.  Sawyer suspiciously watches them
Locke wonders if everything went alright; did Widmore see Sayid.    Sayid mentions Widmore's people saw him.
Locke-"And you let them live?"
Sayid-"I didn't see the point of killing them when I had what I came for."
Locke-"So you found what they were hiding in the submarine?"
Sayid most certainly did. He led Locke to the reveal of peaceful Desmond tied to a tree.

Hurley walks over to Ilana's belongings.  Picks up a red covered book and the small sack of "ash"{Or diamonds}, which he takes.
Richard dumps a bag full of crap out and tells Ben they have to go get more dynamite or else "she" died for nothing.  Quiet Frank just watches.
Jack-"Maybe she died to show us to stay the hell away from dynamite."
That's a risk Richard is willing to take.  Jack tells Richard that he promised Sun that he'd get her off that Island and Richard wishes he didn't promise her that.
Richard-"If it makes you feel any better you can blame it on me."
Hurley thinks Richard is right and feels it's the only choice they've got, "Trust me, Jack."
Jack says okay, and motivated Richard suggests, "Let's get moving."
Although Hurley looks unsure.

A clerk at the counter at Mr. Cluck's chicken is calling out for number 38.
Hugo walks up to clerk {Jayden} and orders a family size bucket of chicken.
While Hugo sits a eats a woman is calling out the number 41.
Hugo looks around, as if "feeling" like he's being watched and does indeed see a man looking at him. It's sunglass wearing Desmond. He walks over as asks Hugo if he's seen him before.
With a fist full of chicken leg, Hugo reveals he owns the place and the guy might have seen his commercial; he asks Des if he wants a Cluckateer key chain.
Desmond seems confused, "No. It's not that."
After a few seconds of recall he asks Hugo, "Were you on Oceanic flight 815...a week ago from Sydney?"
Yeah, what a coincidence! Desmond automatically takes a seat while he asks Hugo if he minds he join him while he waits for his order. "OOh...That is a lot of chicken!"
Hugo-"I eat when I'm depressed."
Desmond smiles-"So what's her name?"
Hugo-"I met a girl on a blind date the other night."   {Night?! It was lunch...in the day!}
Desmond-"And it didn't go how you hoped."
Hugo is excited and shares that she's totally awesome except for one thing..."She's crazy."
Desmond-"Well all women are a little bit crazy, brotha."
Hugo-"No! This one actually lives in the looney bin. I mean I saw the van. She's full on nuts. I mean she started sane...but then she told me we already knew each other. And that...I'd remember!"
Desmond wonders if Hugo believed her and he says yeah, he kinda did.  Desmond whispers to Hugo to go with his gut and try to find out where she thought she knew him from before he gives up on her. Hugo is lost in thought. The clerk calls out "42. Order 42."  That's Desmond's order number!
Desmond-"It was nice bumping into ya."
{Air plane engine/sounds-rumble}
Locke kneels down to talk to calm tied to the tree Desmond. He apologizes that Sayid tied him up but he was afraid Desmond would run before they had a chance to talk. Des doesn't blame him and explained he has nowhere to run to.  Locke feels that best argument against captivity that he ever heard, he doesn't know what is. He cuts Des free and asks him a couple of questions.
Locke-"Why did Charles bring you back to the Island?"
Desmond-"Considering I was kidnapped...you'll have to ask him."
Sayid confirms they had him under armed guard.
Desmond-"They threw me into a wood shack and blasted me with a massive amount of electromagnetism."
Locke wonders how he can be sure what he blasted him with.
Desmond-"Experience."
Locke-"Do you know who I am?"
Des replies matter of fact, "Of course...You're John Locke."
Locke instructs dead pan Sayid to head back to camp because he and Desmond need to take a walk. Sayid mechanically heads into the jungle. Locke holds out his right hand to Desmond to take, "Something I'd like to show you." {Who is showing who what?} Desmond takes his hand and Locke helps lift him up.

On their trek through the jungle stunned Ben remarks to the gang about Ilana and Jacob, "Kinda makes ya think, Ilana being handpicked by Jacob, trained to come and protect "you candidates", no sooner does she tell them who they are, then she blows up. "The Island was done with her. Makes me wonder what's gonna happen when it's done with us."
No cross wearing Richard has led them to the Black Rock. He wants to be the only one handling the dynamite so he's going in alone. It's at that moment he and the rest realize Hugo isn't with the group. {How does Hurley manage to vanish from the group undetected over the years?}
"RUN! GO! GO! GO! GO!" It's Hugo running from the Black Rock! It is blown to bits! {Only the ship, nothing else}
Richard is pissed, "Why the hell did you do that?"
Hugo-"I'm protecting us."
Richard-"What the hell were you thinking?! What are we supposed to do now?!"
Jack tells him to calm down.
Richard-"We're dead. We're all dead!"
Hugo sits alone. Miles tells him a warning might have been nice. Hugo did indeed say "run". He reveals to Miles that Michael told him to do that. Of course Miles doesn't know Michael so Hugo explains. "Michael. He's one of the people who come back and yell at me after they die. He told me I have to stop everyone from blowing up the plane, so...no dynamite...no more blowin up."
Miles-"That happen a lot? Dead people yelling at you?"
Hugo-"Happens enough."  {He thinks he gets yelled at?!!  WTF?}
Miles-"And you just...listen to whatever they say?"
Hugo-"Dead people are more reliable than alive people."   {And why would that be?! Think about it.}
{Air plane engine/sounds-rumble}
Large photo of a tropical island.
Hugo {wearing a gray zip-up hoodie)sits in Dr. Brook's office wanting to see Libby.
Dr. Brooks doesn't think that's a good idea as she's not well.
Hugo-"Clearly she's well enough for like a fajita field trip."
Brooks feels that's his mistake; he mis-judged her condition.
Nervous Hugo-"Her condition."
Brooks-"She has issues with reality."   He doesn't think it "probably" would be a good idea for Hugo to see her right now, it'll only confuse her.
Hugo-"You said 'probably' which means you might make an exception?"
Brooks-"Perhaps for family."
Hugo-"Or a generous donor. The rec room looked pretty narly on my way in. What do you think 100K might buy?"   Hugo writes a check.

A patient releases the black and red chips from the Connect Four gridVisitor Hugo sits in the rec room waiting for Libby. The room is filled with child like artwork, cutouts, paint, alphabets W-7U,games, images of the Island, old dude playing a hand-held video game etc.
Excited Libby enters and wonders if Hugo remembers. He does not.
She's disappointed, "Then why are you here?"
Hugo-"Where is it you think you know me from?"
Libby's not sure, "I know it won't make sense."
Hugo-"Try me."
Libby-"A few days ago I was watching TV and one of your commercials came on... and the moment that I saw you it was like I was hit over the head all these  memories came washing back... of my life..only it was... another life."
Hugo-"What kind of memories?"
Libby-"There was a plane crash and uh, I was on an island."
Hugo-"And I was there?"
Libby-"I think so. We knew each other. We... liked each other.  And then when I got here it was almost like I'd been here before and for some reason, Hugo,  I have a memory of you being here too."
Hugo-"Um, this is the first time I've ever been in a mental hospital."
Libby-"Yeah, I know. But I can't get you out of my brain and that's why the other night when I saw you  I had to talk to you. Because if.. you remembered me..."
Hugo -"I wish I could, Libby, but I can't. I'm sorry."
Libby cries-"It's ok. It's ok.  I'm crazy."
Hugo-"Yeah, probably, but we all got something, right?  I mean it takes a lot of guts go up to a total stranger  and tell them you know them from some bizarro alternate universe. I'm scared just saying hi to a girl."
Libby-"You're doin fine."
Hugo-"Hey, can you ever like... get out of here? Umm, day pass or...?"
Libby-"Yeah. I'm here voluntarily."
Hugo-"Whoa. Would you like to do something?"
Libby-"You mean a date?"
Hugo-"Yeah."
Libby would love that.
{Air plane engine/sounds-rumble}
"Remind me Desmond, how long were you down in that hatch pushing that button?", asks Locke.
 Desmond-"Three years."
Locke notes here he is back for more, "If I didn't know better I'd say this Island has it in for you."
Desmond-"Do you know better? There's nothing special about me, brotha. This Island has it in for all of us."
Locke-"Yes it does."    He sees a familiar young boy{brown hair} over Desmond's shoulder.
Desmond can see him too, "Who's that?"
Locke-"Just ignore him."
Desmond-"Do you know that boy?"
Locke-"I said ignore him!"    Desmond looks back at the boy, the boy smiles and runs away.
Back at the burning Black Rock motivated Richard decides he and Ben going back to the Dharma barracks because Ben thinks there is still grenades and explosives there.  Jack feels they should talk about this.  Richard feels there's no time to talk, but if Jack knows what they need to do , if he knows how to stop that thing from leaving the Island without blowing that plane up then they need to hear it.
Hugo declares they need to go and talk to Locke.
Richard-"Are you trying to get us killed?!"
It's not Hugo's idea, it's "his".    Hugo  points into the jungle at nothingness, claiming Jacob  to be there.    Richard calls Hugo on this and wants him to prove Jacob is standing there by asking Jacob "What the Island is".
Richard feels if Jacob is really standing there he'd know that he had told him what the Island is.
Hugo walks over and stands next to Richard stating he doesn't have to prove anything to him, "You can either come with me or you can keep trying to  blow stuff up. Your call, dude."
Richard looks Hugo in the eyes and announces Hugo's lying.
Richard-"Jacob isn't telling us what to do because Jacob never tells us what to do.  I'm gonna make this simple, if that thing leaves the Island that's it... it's over."   {Yes, it will be game over.}
Miles-"What's over?"
Richard-"Everything!  I'm destroying that plane and I could use all the help I can get.  Who's coming with me?"
Ben is going.  Miles tells Hugo he saw "that thing" in action and it doesn't want to talk, so he's going with Richard too.    Jack apologizes and feels if Jacob says we go talk to Locke, then they go talk to Locke. He's going with Hugo.
Richard-"Don't get in our way."   He and his tiny group heads out.
Jack-"Alright, Hurley...let's go talk to Locke."     Hurley looks troubled.
Hurley leads his group through the dark jungle.   Sun writes a note to Frank asking if they made a mistake.
Frank-"Probably."

Nervous Hurley asks Jack what he thinks they should say to Locke when they get there. "I mean...How do you break the ice with the smoke monster?"
Jack tells him not to worry about it because something tells him Locke will do most of the talking.  Hurley's scared he could just kill them all.   Jack seems nonchalant about it.   Hurley turns around to Jack and confesses he didn't see Jacob back there. He just said it because he wanted everyone to listen to him.
Jack-"I know."
Hurley wonders why Jack went with him.    Jack explains that ever since he got Juliet killed all he's wanted was to fix it, but he can't ever fix it.  "You have no idea how hard it is for me to sit back and listen to other people tell  me what I should do. I think that maybe that's the point.  Maybe...I'm supposed to let go."  {Yes, Jack. That is your lesson.}
Hurley remarks, unless his letting go gets them killed.   Going to see Locke was Hurley's idea, not Jacob's and  Jack is trusting Hurley.
Hurley feels it's a good thing he does, "'Cause I have no idea where I'm going."
They all hear whispers!
Hurley says it's cool because "I think I know what these things are."
He has the group wait there as he walks into the jungle alone.  He calls out for Michael "Hey you around?" and Michael walks out.   {It's a good thing Michael walked out and not some other gone folk.}
Hurley-"You're stuck on the Island, aren't you?"
Michael-"'Cause of what I did."
Hurley-"And... there are others out here... like you, aren't there. That's what the whispers are?"
Michael-"Yeah. We're the ones who can't move on."    {Can't.}
Hurley-"Do you know where Locke is?"     Michael points to a torch illuminated area down  in the valley.
Hurley asks Michael if there's anything he can do to help him.
Michael-"Don't get yourself killed."    He also asks if Hurley ever does see Libby again "Tell her I'm very sorry."  {Tell her yourself!!!}    Hurley smiles will be sure and do that.
{Air plane engine/sounds-rumble}
Hugo lays out a blue blanket on the beach for his picnic with Libby.  He brought six different kinds of cheeses.   Libby sits staring out at the ocean.   Hugo wonders if something's wrong.
Libby-"No. Not wrong...just...off."
She hasn't been "here" before but being there with Hugo is familiar to her, "Like a date we never had."  She realizes she sounds completely insane.  They both question each other about why they want to be with one another.
Hugo-"Come on, look at me."
Libby looks him in the eyes and tells him she wants to be with him because she likes him.  Hugo feels she likes him because she's delusional.   Libby just kisses him.  Hugo gets "Flash images" of he and Libby on the Island".   He opens his eyes and Libby asks what's wrong.  Hugo shares he thinks he's remembering stuff.   With this recall it may mean Libby isn't crazy.   Desmond has been sitting nearby in his car watching the two on the beach.

Locke has led Desmond to a  very old well.  Locke reads Desmond's mind in wondering how deep it is.  Locke tosses a lit torch into it and it sounds like it lands in water.    Locke teaches him that the people who dug the well did it completely by hand.  "God knows how long it took em."
Desmond-"It seems like a lot of  work just to get some water."
Locke-"Oh they weren't looking for water, they were looking for answers.  A long time ago places like the one we're standing at now made compass needles spin.  And the people holding the compasses needed to know why...so they dug."
Desmond-"Did they find what they were looking for?"
Locke-"No, they didn't.  The reason I wanted you to see this, Desmond,  is because Charles Widmore is not interested in answers, he's only interested in power.  And he brought you back to this island  so that you can help him find what he's looking for.    After all, this isn't the only well."
Desmond-"And that's the reason you wanted me to see this."
Locke is curious, "Why aren't you afraid?"
Desmond-"Excuse me?"
Locke-"You're out here... middle of the jungle...with me... not a person on earth even knows you're here.  Why aren't you afraid?"
Desmond-"What is the point of being afraid?"
Locke looks deep in Desmond's eyes, smiles and pushes him into the well.

Locke arrives back at his camp and informs Sayid that they don't have to worry about their "friend" anymore.
Curious Sawyer asks Locke where he's been.  Locke shares he went for a walk.   Sawyer feels now that Locke's stretched his legs...Sawyer's distracted by the arrival of Hurley.
Hurley-"I don't know who you are , dude or what you want..."
He appeals to Locke that even though both sides have weapons he wants Locke's word no one will get hurt or killed.  He gives his word that they're not going to do anything and he wants Locke's word to the same. So Locke hands his knife to him and gives his word.  Hurley tells the guys they can come out.   Out walk Frank, Sun {She doesn't automatically asks for Jin!}  and Jack.   Jack and Kate share a smile.   His gaze is broken when Locke says "Hello Jack."    Jack looks confused and concerned, Locke smiles.
{Air plane engine/sounds-rumble}
At school Locke is making his way across the parking lot in his wheelchair.   Desmond is sitting in his car and spots Locke.   Educator Ben knocks on Desmond's window to inquire if he's waiting for someone in particular.  Ben notes Desmond has been parked at the school watching the kids.
Desmond doesn't have a kid who goes there and adds the lie of just moving to the neighborhood and is looking for a school for his son "Charlie".   Desmond keeps his eyes on struggling Locke.
Ben-"Well, as a teacher here I can vouch for it completely. It's a wonderful school."
Desmond finds this info great to hear and obviously ends the chat with Ben.  Ben still looks suspicious.   Locke is still wheeling his way up the little hill.  Des starts the car and speeds up intentionally hitting Locke.
Ben runs over to him, tells someone to call 911.
"Mr. Locke! Oh my god!  Don't, don't move.  We're gonna get you to the hospital. Mr. Locke...Mr. Locke... Can you hear me?!"
Watch when Locke starts to come around.
Everybody Loves Hugo is a GREAT episode!!

Why did Desmond hit Locke with the car?  Is it so Locke has to connect with Jack...or because Locke pushed him into the well?
Why did Locke push Desmond into the well?  Was it payback for hitting him with the car?
Which of these intentional events came first?  Hmmmm  It is possible things are not separate at all.

Child-like artwork, cutouts, play, toys, games, imagination, make believe and yes...even deep pain.
I can't help but sometimes "feel" like we are seeing our grown up Losties behave like children at the same time.
The unblemished innocence of a young child, the ability to feel safe, to have their minds open to nothing but wishes, dreams, imagination, fantasy, exploration and possibility.  All of this is what every child embodies until the ugly hand of society gets a hold of them.    When a "catastrophic" experience happens to a child it leaves them feeling alone, abandoned, and hopeless, with their strength shattered and dreams crushed.
With all this mention of children this season I can't help but wonder about Waaaaaaaalt.

The "Island" does indeed seem to be the place you go to find  yourself, to rediscover the person you left behind and need to connect with again, to learn to love, forgive and accept things so that you can move forward.
People who are unable or can't "move on" are stuck. Exactly! Aren't they all stuck on the "Island" looking for answers?
This episode is riddled with mental health issues and the connection of Libby, Michael and Hurley.  Add to this Michael's revelation about the whispers belonging to some that are "stuck" in this "Island" adventure/experience/game because they're the ones who can't move on.  Locke is "stuck" too.  They have not learned what they are there to learn, hence they are still there.
Maybe there are even ones that "can't"... simply because they "can't".   Michael never said they were dead and/or spirits/souls lost in between worlds.  The reveal was left with enough ambiguity to go in the direction of either a religious "purgatory" (Of course then this would mean this "Island" purgatory would enable the dead to die over and over and over again) or something completely simple.
Can't it be that they are "stuck" in the damn adventure?!   Possibly on another level/plane or outside of the experience with access to enter while the Losties are in an altered state?
Nowhere did Michael or Hurley say how their journey is happening or what the "Island" is!!  A contrived bloody snow globe where things are imagined and faked?  If so, how would it be purgatory?
Take a look at Michael's monitors from the episode Meet Kevin Johnson.

Voices/whispers in their heads:
Schizophrenia: A severe emotional disorder of psychotic depth characteristically marked by a retreat from reality with delusion formation, hallucinations, emotional disharmony, and regressive behavior.

Personality Disorder: severe personality disorder that develops in early childhood; characterized by a lack of control of anger, intense and frequent mood changes, impulsive acts, disturbed interpersonal relationships, and life-threatening behaviors.

Or the more common reason among the rest of us, we may hear whispers/voices is when you are in a half awake-half, {semi conscious} sleep state.

Things to Note...Questions to ask...
* Now we have "wells" to look down into instead of "hatches".
* I don't see Isabella's cross hanging around Richard's neck.
* Hurley lies/manipulates to get the people to do what he wanted.
* Real. Not real.  "Island" and off "Island" events blur together.
* So...where's Christian?
* Menu. Connected. Power. Channel.
* Marker. Chip. Move.
* Crazy. Insane. Santa Rosa. {Rosalita} Mental Hospital. The Looney Bin. Full on nuts. Depressed. Delusional. Issues with reality.
* Identity.
* Memory. Mind. Head.  Brain.
* Believe.
* Desmond is #42 at Mr. Cluck's
* Game. Connect Four.
* Well. How many times was the word "well" said or shown in this episode?!
* Wrong. Not wrong-off.
* Wood Shack. Jacob's cabin. Mr. Cluck's chicken shack.
* What is with quiet observing Frank the pilot?
* When they blew up "the bomb" did that change things for the "stuck" people on the"island" too.  Shouldn't have?   Michael was told he can go by Christian.
* Desmond, Sawyer and Locke have seen the young boy.
* In Live Together Die Alone, Locke asked Desmond "How long did you say you were you down in the hatch?" Desmond replies-"3 years."
* Why would Hurley think the dead are more reliable than the living?  Maybe because the living can disappoint and hurt you.
* Jack mentions something to Ana Lucia about women being crazy.
* Why does Libby and Hugo say they met each other the other "night" when they met at lunch in the day?!!!!
* I don't recall mirrors for Hugo here.
* Hugo's commercial talks about sleeping under the stars and dreaming.
* Longing for family
* Is Locke still trying to bring the "family" back together.

Therefore, a body may not proceed to the global minimum of potential energy, as it would naturally tend to due to entropy.

So...What is the "Island"?! Are events happening in the "head/mind/consciousness"?    Is it combined with one hell of a LARP?! What kinds of things are happening in their brain/mind?
Either way things are connected. Who knows...this may lead us all back to a building in New York City.

Just throw a penny in the well and make a wish to find your true north.

Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right! The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either! You all know I hate spoilers and I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Understood? Good! Let the fun begin! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance. It will get very exciting as we progress into the story.

LA X (part 2)

Let's talk about LOST! LA X (part 2)

The men move unconscious Sayid to the stretcher for transport, while Sawyer prepares to bury Juliet. Hurley brings the guitar case; informing Miles it’s not a guitar.

Kate offers to help Sawyer dig the hole to bury Juliet but he tells her to help Sayid. Sawyer asks Miles to hang back with him. Miles agrees to stay with his boss. Kate will be sure to leave a trail so Sawyer can follow it, but Sawyer shares that he’s not following anybody.
Jack gives weak Sayid some water to drink. Hurley is ready to go to the hole in the wall. Jack looks back to note Sawyer having to deal with his loss.

The two small groups head off in two different directions. Jin and Jack carry Sayid on the stretcher.
Jin leads them to the big wall that surrounds the temple.
Jack wonders how they’re going to get him over the top. Hurley shows them the hole they’re going to bring him through.
Inside the “hole” Hurley guides Jin and Jack with Sayid with the flashlight. Hurley notes the passageway. They come across a skeleton where Kate dumps out the contents of the bag once belonging to this man.
Hurley picks up the book and asks “Who brings a book into a cave?”
Kate finds the lighter and lights the torch that was left near the skeleton. Hurley wonders why the guy's arm is missing.
Jin reveals the arm was ripped off when he was attacked by the black smoke. Of course Hurley feels this is gonna be awesome.
They come to another deep hole/well in the ground that must be passed by literally watching their step.
Kate is first to make it passed the dangerous well, followed by Hurley and his guitar case. While Jin and Jack very cautiously make their way over the well, Kate alone takes a look around and hears whispers.

This scene is very important in that we’re shown Kate get turned around a few times in what feels like a head-trippy kind of way and there is a “Flash Whoosh” feel to the music.

Jack realizes Kate’s gone. He runs through the passageways with the flashlight looking for Kate then hears the guys involved in a scuffle. Jack is calling out for Hurley and you can hear Hurley yell out for Jin.
Jack hears whispers and catches a glimpse of someone run by in the distance. This sequence also shows us Jack get turned around and head-trippy; almost dream-like.

Jack is attacked by someone and knocked out.
The marshal, Edward Mars, declares Kate a murderer at the customs counter. The officer stamps her passport booklet.
Cuffed
Kate needs to go to the bathroom and the marshal actually wants her to hold it. Lol
Kate-“I can’t.”
The marshal thinks kiddo can, he believes in her.
Kate calls him Edward with such familiarity and ease.
Edward checks out the bathroom {No Smoking sign}.
He gives Kate 2 minutes in the ladies room. Right away Kate goes to work on unlocking the cuffs with a pen she disassembles for a tool. She drops the spring {The whole time we are hearing the distant voices of people in the airport.} from the pen mechanism.
Edward steps on the spring when he walks over to see if Kate’s done.
Kate isn’t done and he’s suspicious.
Edward- “Alright! Time’s up!”
Kate wants one minute. Edwards bangs on the door demand she come out and Kate insists she’s not finished; she’s still working on the lock. When Edward gets in close to the stall door to threaten her Kate, still cuffed kicks open the door beats him up and smashes his head against the counter top. Once he’s knocked out Kate takes his gun and jacket.
Two women enter the ladies room and Kate makes up a story about this man attacking her and she pushed him, “I..I just need to get out of here.”

The 2nd floor elevator door is closing and Kate yells out “Hold the door!”
Sawyer welcomes her aboard. Kate hides her cuffed hands under the jacket. Sawyer reminds her they were on the same flight; Sydney. Kate doesn’t seem impressed. Sawyer notices she’s cuffed.
Two TSA agents get on the elevator {South elevator headed to ground} and are radioed with instructions to get their asses to international baggage claim; they have a 341.
Curious Sawyer says that sounds serious and asks, “What’s a 341?”
One agent tells him it’s confidential.
Sawyer-“Well if it’s confidential how the hell am I supposed to know when I see one?” {Should he be privy to this confidential info?}
The elevator arrives at G and Sawyer lets the “lady” out first. Sexy Sawyer smiles at her and tells her to take care.
{Engine Flash Whoosh}
Sawyer finishes burying Juliet.
Miles still calls him Boss which Sawyer immediately tells him to stop doing, “You aint my Deputy anymore.”
Miles wonders if Sawyer’s thirsty as he thinks he saw some beers in the van.
All Sawyer is interested in is what Juliet wanted to tell him before she died so he kept Miles back there with him so Miles can talk to a dead person.
Miles-“Jim. That’s not how it works.”
He feels it doesn’t matter what she wanted to say and it’s not going to help; she’s gone. Sawyer insists Miles “ask her” so he physically pushes Miles down on top of the fresh grave. Sawyer knows she’s gone, “Now tell me.”
Sawyer leaves Miles to his “work”.
So Miles puts his hands on the grave and does his trance-head trippy-glitchy thingy he does and declares, “It worked.”
That’s Juliet’s message.
Sawyer-“What worked?” He just walks away from Miles.

Two armed men drag semi unconscious Jack and exit out two doors {similar to the medical station.} He is reunited with Kate, Jin, Hurley and unconscious Sayid. They are led to the grand temple.
Hurley-“Guess we found the temple.” {Took ya long enough!}

At the airport we see Kate being escorted by Edward; they are on line and Jack waiting on another line. Oceanic passenger Jack Shephard is being paged and asked to go to the nearest courtesy desk.
The man at the Oceanic counter meant to meet him at the gate and informs Jack that there seems to have been a mix up involving the cargo he checked in Sydney.
Jack-“Cargo”
Oceanic agent-“Yes sir, a coffin.”
Jack-“I don’t…I don’t understand I mean are you saying that’s it’s not here?”
Oceanic agent-“It appears it was never put on the plane.”
Jack starts panicking as the funeral is in two hours, “When is it getting here?”
The agent is deeply sorry but they don’t know when it will arrive because they’re not exactly sure where it is.
{Engine Flash Whoosh}
The detainees are brought to the entry of the temple by their barefooted, bland clothes wearing Other captors. A very important Asian man {Dogen} meets them and uses his translator to help with communicating with them. {He wears a black leather type vest}
Dogen asks, Who are you?”
A woman states she knows who they are, “They were on the first plane. Oceanic 815 along with me.”
This is long haired Cindy the flight attendant.
Dogen speaks only in Japanese, “They should not have come here. Seeing this place is unforgivable.” {Hurley pays attention.}
Nonchalantly Lennon the interpreter instructs, “Shoot them.”
Before the detainees can be shot Hurley blurts out “Jacob sent us!”
This gets Dogen’s attention.
Hurley shares that “He said, you would help our friend.” pointing to Sayid.
Dogen wants red shirted Hurley to prove it so Hurley presents the guitar case which Dogen opens to reveal a large wood Ankh.
Of course Hurley may have had himself a peek at the contents earlier.

Dogen breaks the Ankh over his knee to reveal there is a note hidden inside it.  He reads the note and Lennon asks them their names.
Hurley doesn’t hesitate, “Hugo. Hugo Reyes.”
That doesn’t seem important to Dogen. The rest tell them their names at Hugo’s urging. Jack tells him Sayid Jarrah’s name; and with the information Dogen needed he has his people pick up Sayid instructing them to bring him to the spring.
Thy start walking back into the temple but Hugo has something he wants. “Hey, excuse me, I carried that case across the ocean and like.. through time. So I wanna know what that paper says.”
Lennon- “The paper said that if your friend there dies, we're all in a lot of trouble.” {Really?! How many times are we going to get the whole “doom” bullshit statement from people?}

Jin and Sun are customs with an agent checking their baggage. {Sign-Article to Declare} The agent sees the Rolex watch and asks Jin what business he is in.
Jin replies in poor English-“No English.”
He presents a letter on Paik letterhead to the agent mentioning the watch is a business gift but the agent still wants to know what business he’s in.
Jin just points to the letter. The frustrated agent starts looking through the suitcase and this gets Jin worked up; he feels everything should be in order and even tries to get the agent to move away insisting he has an appointment to get to.
The agent finds a large amount of American money. Anything over 10 thousand dollars has to be declared and he didn’t declare it. Sun is nervous and wonders why Jin has all that money. The agent needs Jin to go with him to have a talk even though Jin doesn’t have time.
Ann is instructed to take Sun to the waiting area.
Ann- “Ms. Paik, do you understand any English? Because if you do, if this is just a misunderstanding, you should speak up now. Do you understand me?”
Sun just stares and says, “No. English.”
{Engine Flash Whoosh}
Dogen leads them through a courtyard with more Others and children.
They enter a small building that contains a spring. {There are Hieroglyphs}
Lennon wonders what happened to it as the water isn’t clear, “What happened?”
Dogen doesn’t know but he cuts a slit into his palm and puts his hand into the tainted water; he hand doesn’t heal.

Dogen asks who did this to “him”/Sayid.
Jack takes they blame and admits he didn’t shoot him, “It’s my
fault.”

Dogen puts on the fingerless glove he wore on his left hand back on after cutting it to test the spring.
Lennon translates to Jack that if they do this there are risks, “Do you understand?
Kate looks skeptical. {Shouldn’t Kate know all of this already from when she brought young Ben to the temple?!}
Jack wants them to do what they have to do. This comment by Jack even surprises Jin.
The Others take off Sayid’s coveralls and put him into the spring.

Dogen turns over an hourglass and Sayid’s head is held underwater. This concerns Jack but not the Others. The timer is key in Sayid’s stay under the water.
Hurley-“Can unconscious people hold their breath?”
Jack-“No.”
They see Sayid start to struggle while his head is still forcefully submerged. The Others continue to hold Sayid under the water as he fights for air.
Jack tells Dogen-“He’s awake. Let em up.”
Dogen looks over at the sand keeping time in the hourglass.
Upset Jin wonders what the Others are waiting for. Pissed off Jack goes to attack Dogen, “Let him up!”

Dogen karate chops Jack and continues to watch the timer as the Others work hard to keep Sayid submerged.
Upset Hurley yells, “You're not saving him! You're drowning him!”
Sayid stops struggling and the timer runs out of sand.
Lennon informs Jack, “Your friend is dead."
Jack tries to resuscitate Sayid and in true Kate form she wants Jack to stop trying to revive a dead person. “He's not coming back, stop it!”
Jack stops.
Sayid is in the airport waiting at the carousel for his bags. He’s looking at a photo of Nadia. Arzt looks at him bizarre.

Cuffed Kate is trying to make her getaway from the airport. She watches a female worker enter a code on a keypad to enter a door that says No Entry. Kate uses the code to this door that ultimately leads her to an exit up onto the street level. {The PA announces this is a NON Smoking Facility.}

Once outside Kate tries to grab a taxi ahead of other travelers but is told by annoyed Frogurt, “There’s a line. There’s a line!

Hurley is on that line chatting business on the phone {Something about the Outback, a lawyer, title registration.} “Outback is just a name, what are you sayin', they own the entire outback? That's just stupid. Oh and I didn’t get Tustin inventory report yet.” {Tustin-Locke}

Kate is spotted by Edward and bolts into a taxi that already has a passenger, Claire. Kate pulls a gun on the cabbie demanding he go.
{Engine Flash Whoosh}
The tainted spring is bubbling up. Kate sits on the edge starring into the water. Jack sits quiet by Sayid’s body.

Cindy enters with Zack and Emma; she brought them food and drink.
{Of course the Lostie's don’t ask any questions about anything especially about the kids.}
Others carry in unconscious Sawyer and Miles who reveals they were jumped in the jungle. Sawyer took four of them out before one of them could hit him with a rock.
Lennon comes in to retrieve Hugo to bring to Dogen.

Dogen is trimming his herbs/plants. He speaks Japanese without even turning around to talk to them “Ask him what exactly Jacob said, what instructions he got.” Lennon translates.
Hugo shares Jacob told him to go there and that they would save Sayid.
Apparently He was beyond saving.
Hurley,"Wait a second! You're not translating anything I say to him, which means you totally understand me dude.
Dogen replies in English, "I don't like the way English tastes on my tongue." He wants to know when Jacob is getting there, to the temple. Hurley doesn't think that's going to happen as he reveals to the uninformed duo that Jacob is dead. Apparently this is cause for alarm!
Dogen commands all the armed Others to their posts and to prepare the ash. They batten down the hatches and send up a large "bottle rocket".
Hurley asks Lennon-"I guess we're not getting out of here, huh?"
Lennon-"This is not to keep you in...It's to keep him out!"
Hugo-"Who?" {That's what I'm asking!}

Strong Locke drags the body of one of Bram's guys across the floor while Ben sits and watches.
Ben-"What are you?"
Locke-"I'm not a what, Ben. I'm a who."
Ben accuses Locke of being the "monster". Locke doesn't want to resort to name calling. Ben recounts being used by Locke because he couldn't kill him himself, so he made Ben do it. {Yeah, we've fucking heard this song before. Look in a damn mirror, Ben!}
Locke-"I didn't make you do anything."
Locke feels Ben should know that "he" was very confused when he killed him.
Ben-"I seriously doubt that Jacob was ever confused."
Locke-"I'm not talking about Jacob. I'm talking about John Locke. Do you wanna know what he was thinking while you, choked the life outta him, Benjamin? What the last thought that ran through his head was? 'I don't understand.' Isn't that just the saddest thing you ever heard? {Locke takes a seat in the sunlight} But it's fitting in a way, because when John first came to the island, {sits back into the dark shade} he was a very sad man. A victim, shouting at the world for being told what he couldn't do, even though they were right. He was weak, and pathetic, and irreparably broken. {sits forward into the bright sunlight} But, despite all that, there was something admirable about him. He was the only one of them who didn't wanna leave. The only one, who realized how pitiful the life he'd left behind actually was." {Rose didn't want to leave either!}

Ben asks what he wants.
Locke-"Well that's the great irony here Ben because, I want the one thing that John Locke didn't. I want to go home."

Hurley tells "dead" Sayid goodbye and lets him know if he ever wants to talk, he's around.

Kate tends to injured Sawyer who wakes up wondering where they are. {This reminds me of the scene when he wakes up in the hatch after the Talies returned him to camp}
Kate informs him they're in a temple, they were caught by the Others who appear to be trying to protect them this time {She thinks}.
Jack sits alone in thought as Sawyer tells Kate he's not going to kill Jack because he deserves to suffer on that rock just like the rest of them.
Jack sits in thought.
{Engine Flash Whoosh}
In the baggage service office Jack is on the phone with his mother explaining that the coffin is missing. "You think I knew this was gonna happen?

Jack scheduled the service so soon because he wanted to get it over with but they can't have the service without him. He'll call her if he hears anything.
Locke is sitting in a wheelchair already filling in paperwork behind Jack.
He asks, "What did you lose?"
They lost one of Locke's bags. Jack feels he wouldn't believe him if he told him. He shares they lost his father who died in Australia a few days ago. The coffin was supposed to go on the plane in Sydney but it didn't. Apparently he's somewhere in transit which is their way of saying they have no idea where the hell he is.
Locke-"Well how could they know?"
Jack feels they're the one who checked him in a have to have some sort of tracking system.
Locke-"No. I'm not talking about the coffin, I mean how could they know where he is? They didn't lose your father, they just lost his body."

{I think Jack understands that part!}
Locke feels Jack's story beats the hell out of his because all that was in his suitcase was a bunch of knives. He hopes he finds his coffin and Jack hopes Locke finds his knives.
Jack asks what happened to him as he's a spinal surgeon.
 Locke-"Oh, no, don't worry about it, uh, surgery isn't gonna do anything to help me, my condition is irreversible."
Confident Jack feel "Nothing is irreversible. Umm, if you ever wanna consult, just uh, gimme a call. Jack hands Locke his business card and tells him it's on the house. {Like he's buying him a drink in a bar.}
Locke thanks him.

The men introduce themselves to each other.
"Jack Shephard."
"I'm John.John Locke."
They shake hands and are happy to have met each other.
{Engine Flash Whoosh}
Richard notes the bottle rocket overhead and it concerns him. He freaks when he sees Ben and Locke emerge out of the statue. Lapidus still doesn't believe what he's seeing.
Ilana and gang aim to shoot Locke but Richard in a panic tells them not to.
Locke walks right up to Richard and tells him it's good to see him out of those chains. {Did Locke just free him?}

Richard is stunned-"You."
Locke-"Me."
Locke roughs him up, knocks him out and announces to the group, "I am very disappointed...in all of you!" {Maybe because they didn't believe.}
He carries unconscious Richard off passing his "dead" half along the way.

Dead Sayid is still with the quiet Lostie's.
Lennon comes in to retrieve Jack; they need to speak to him privately.   Jack feels they can just say what they want there. Lennon doesn't think Jack's understanding him, if he doesn't go freely he will have him dragged out. "Because we are going to have this conversation it's not going to be there. Jack gets into a fight with two of the guys.
Hurley calls for Jack's attention because Sayid is starting to wake up and asks "What happened?"

LA   X was an AMAZING episode!
Locke and Jack "Don't understand", but they're not the only ones who don't.
We still have hints and direction to enlightenment being part of the journey/adventure and game. I mean the entirety of the story has revolved around Dharma, finding what you lost, finding yourself and liberation.
The Lostie's are stuck in cycles of suffering.

Dharma is used to refer to the teachings of the Buddha. A reflection of natural law. A person who lives their life with an understanding of this natural law, is a "Dhammic" person, which is often translated as "righteous".

Liberation, called nirvana in Buddhism, is seen as an end to suffering, rebirth, and ignorance.
The path of Buddhism is not easy. Facing the reality of "the self" can be disturbing. There isn't a magic prayer or chant or act that allows instant 'washing away' of sins, or a pill to cure your ills. It does provide a detailed map to freeing yourself from your perception of suffering.
Dharma also means ‘mental contents’, and is paired with citta, which means heart/mind. Dharma also means the source of things and Truth.

The Buddha teaches the Four Noble Truths, the Noble Eightfold Path, the Three Marks of Existence, and other guidelines in order to achieve the freedom and liberation from suffering.

We get many other ties to this way of enlightenment with our nods to Shambala, Yin and Yang, The Enso (circle), The Wheel (Dharma wheel), the hum of OM  and many more examples.

I am very aware the story incorporates many other religions, cultures, philosophy, traditions and science in their narrative regarding redemption and salvation.

Things to Note...Questions to ask...
☯ Hour glass that is more a “few minute” timer. Time. Timer. Time’s up.
☯ Game. Beat. Lost. Lose.
☯ Christian
☯ How is Sayid reanimated? {brought back to life-reborn}
☯ Reflecting pool-Mirror image- 2way mirror- see yourself.
☯ Communication. Translation. Mis-communication, misunderstanding and not “getting it” is what we’re seeing here, i.e. "Not understanding."
☯ Locke/Smoke monster wants to go home.  Jack is almost homeThe objective of the journey is to go home. "Home" may be the “home base” of the game. I also think it may mean that “home” is when he finally "finds himself" or whatever he’s looking for, then literally can go back into society and go home a new man.
☯ Is the "black smoke" a tool that can be used by either side or is it strictly a "power" that is only part of one person? {Or two or three).
☯"WHO IS GUARDING THE GATE?" Is there literally a 3 headed watch dog?
Cerberus. I mention this back in the episode Cabin Fever when I noted 3 baby cribs in John Locke’s nursery.  Would we see the "Black smoke" use three bodies? I'm just asking.
☯ The people at the temple must have realized Sayid was going to "die" but still followed Jacob's request.
☯ Somebody better declare Claire already! lol
☯ Jack and his coffins!
Head. Ringing. Voices. Glitch. Dream-like. Unconscious. Unconscious sleep. Neurological.
☯These engine Flash Whoosh sound like they can be running in reverse at times.
“Island” and Oceanic/LA events still blur together. With that I still feel they are not out of the “confines” of the “island”.
Aboard is a term used when on a ship or vessel. Or a board- game board.
☯ The segments I pointed out in the “caves” with Kate and Jack’s experience seemed to be almost dream-like.
☯ I still get that video game feel once in a while.
☯ Sawyer lost Juliet twice.
☯ “It worked” supposedly was Juliet’s message to Jim. What worked? That could mean anything! That young Ben got healed in the spring, that Sawyer ends up with Kate, that she redeemed herself and is out of the game...
☯ What role does Sawyer play in this Oceanic go-around?
☯ There seems to always be a way to physically go down deeper and deeper.
☯ Failed a test.
☯ Language. Linguistics. Translator. Letter. Hieroglyphics. Characters. Code. Keypad. Numbers.
☯ Kate told Mrs. Littleton that she was “going back” to look for her
daughter/Claire.
☯ Kumbaya.
☯ Is Jin hiding something else in his suitcase? A ring perhaps?
☯ Could the "X" stand for 10 or 10th?
☯ “Knight” has been hinted at Locke in Cabin Fever

☯ Jack and Locke may be able to let go of the things they weren't able to let go of before.
☯ Was Jacob bringing people there to use as bodyguards; did he need protection from Locke?
☯ Did Locke need protection from Jacob or was he being held prisoner by Jacob?
☯ Keep these things in mind: "We are the causes of our own suffering", ", Only fools are enslaved by time and space", "Everything changes"  and ..."God loves you as he loved Jacob."
☯ Sun and Jin are in the same place/"time and space" on the "Island" and at Oceanic.
☯ Who has murder in their heart?
☯ If Hurley "could" also "talk" to dead people couldn't he have "listened" to what Juliet's message was?
If Sayid was really dead shouldn't Miles and Hurley hear him since they're supposed to be "conversing" with dead people?
☯ Locke was not the only one who didn't want to leave...Rose didn't either!
☯Could "time" be irrelevant? Could the only "time" that matters is the game "timer"?

Vocabulary and Research...
* A chain is a series of connected links.
- Chain -sequence.
- "chainmail", a type of armor made of interlocking chain links.
* Fetter (Buddhism): a deeply rooted mental attachment preventing one from achieving liberation from suffering.
* Ankh-'key of life', 'the key of the Nile'. Hieroglyphic character that read "Eternal life". Egyptian gods are often portrayed carrying it by its loop, or bearing one in each hand, arms crossed over their chest.
* Spring- one of four seasons; transition period between winter and summer.
   2). A new beginning.   3). start to exist; be born, come into being, come into existence.    4). Jump or leap.
- A coil spring (mechanical device)
* Crainte et tremblement- The book in the Temple is "Fear and Trembling" (original title: Frygt og Bæven), a philosophical work by Danish philosopher, theologian, and psychologist Søren Aabye Kierkegaard, published in 1843 under the pseudonym Johannes de silentio (John the Silent). In the book Kierkegaard introduces the “Knight of Faith” and contrasts him with the "knight of infinite resignation". The latter gives up everything in return for the infinite, that which he may receive after this life, and continuously dwells with the pain of his loss. The former, however, not only relinquishes everything, but also trusts that he will receive it all back, his trust based on the "strength of the absurd".
* Kigen Dogen-(1200 – 1253) Japanese philosopher and “Zen Master".
- "Dgen" For the Sega Mega Drive emulator.
* The Knight's Tour is a mathematical problem involving a knight on a chessboard. The knight is placed on the empty board and moving according to the rules of chess, must visit each square exactly once.

This was a great way to start the season. We see a slightly different version of Oceanic plane events but we still must wonder when it is from.   Yet the Lostie's on the "Island" have all their memories of their time on the "Island" and of the incident involving the "core" (which is derived from Latin for heart) of the hydrogen bomb.

I am still being very cautious of who is on which side. I will assume nothing! Locke is determined and appears to be on a mission to not let Jacob confine him any longer, and seems to have freed others from that as well. Dogen hears of Jacob's death and kicks into "protection" mode, but what and who he protecting himself and everyone from?

I love when Locke/Smokey was describing the broken Locke and he was in the dark and when he spoke about the side of Locke that was admirable he was in the light. This is two sides of the same person.  And yes I say person because Locke even tells Ben he is not a "what", he is a "who".
Is it safe to assume who is in whose body?

In the past I have described Locke the paralyzed man as emotionally paralyzed and unable to move forward. Even though he tried he seemed to have taken one step forward and two steps back. Did {or does} irreparably broken Locke get fixed? What about Jack?

Here is a Zen saying that could connect to what we saw tonight...
"To gain enlightenment you must want it as much as a man whose head is held under water wants air."

The objective of the adventurous game is still to discover who you are, truly see yourself, heal from your past, discover the new you, become enlightened, then and only then do you… get to go “Home”.

The Other 48 Days.

Let's talk about LOST! The Other 48 Days.

(Click the pics!)

The tail section of the plane comes crashing down into the water.

Day 1
Underwater:
The Island appears upside down. There are sounds of creaking and metal. In the distance the tail section is sinking into the water.
A deep breath is heard and Ana Lucia pops out of the water. {Remember she said that she woke up under the water. Also it is very, very important to note what she is wearing here; Her brown leather jacket, black thin strap top, no necklaces.}
People are scattered in the water, they're screaming and calling out for help. We see Cindy the stewardess coming out of the water. There are face down bodies in the water.
A black man in a dark suit with a white shirt {Eko} is pulling bodies out of the water.
Ana makes her way to shore.

Ana dives back in and helps bring people to shore.
Eko is carrying a little boy who is calling out for his sister Emma.
Emma is floating face down in the water and Eko retrieves her. {Cool designs on Emma's pant leg.}
The little boy has a teddy bear.

Ana is helping a man {Donald} but heads over to Eko who tells her the girl is not breathing. Ana revives Emma. The little boy gives Emma the teddy bear.
Emma comes to, asking where her mom is, "She's meeting us in Los Angeles."
Ana tells her that they're not there yet, "I promise, we're going to get you home soon, okay?"
An Asian man is calling out for his wife.
There is chaos on the beach. {Loud metal sounds and creaking continues}
The tail section submerges under the water.

Eko asks Cindy to look after the children; there's something he has to do. He heads back into the water to retrieve the dead bodies.

Libby is tending to a bald man with a hurt leg (Donald). He asks her if it's bad, "It's bad, isn't it?"
Libby tells Donald it's not that bad and tells him the story of when she snapped her left leg.
Ana asks her if she's a doctor.   Libby reveals she spent a year in med school before she dropped out, now she's a Clinical Psychologist. {Ana is NOT wearing a ring!}
Libby notes Ana saved that girl's life, "You a doctor?"
Ana just says no.

A man (Goodwin) comes running out of the jungle calling for help.

There's someone in the jungle, alive.
Ana goes to help out Goodwin. {Goodwin! The crash just happened! How is he there already? Remember in 'Tale of two cities Ben dispatches him and we're told he'd be where the tail section is in about an hour! Has an hour past already?}

Bernard is calling out for help. He is stuck in a seat in a tree. {The last we heard, he was in the bathroom in the back of the plane.}
Ana calls up to the panicking man, "What's your name?"
Bernard, seeming to have to recall his name says, "Uh, uh, uh...Bernard." {Watch him}
Ana instructs Bernard to grab the branch next to him because the seat is going to fall. {She knows the seat is going to fall. LOL!}
Bernard asks if the limp unconscious guy sitting in the seat next to him is dead, "I think he's dead!"
Goodwin whispers, "I think we should climb up there."
Ana says no and tells Bernard she needs him to focus. She gives him the instructions again, "Unbuckle your seatbelt. {He does} Now grab the branch next to you."
Calm Ana encourages the freaked out Bernard with positive words.
As Bernard grabs the branch the seats fall out from under him and come crashing down in front of Ana and Goodwin.
Ana tells Bernard to hold on tight, "Coming up to get ya!" {How the fuck is she going to bring him down?}
Goodwin looks impressed with Ana.

The sun is going down on the Tailies beach. Eko walks hand and hand with the two blond children. Everyone is waiting. Libby asks if anyone has any water.

Goodwin tries to start a fire.
Ana walks over and asks, "Find any matches?"
Goodwin wants to start a signal fire so someone can find them.
Ana asks him jokingly if he's a boy scout; he tells Ana he's a grownup version, he's with the Peace Corp.
Ana wonders, "They still have that?" Ana asks him his name.

Night:
Sad Bernard heard that Eko was the one who pulled the dead bodies out of the water so he inquires if any of them were African American.   Eko says no.  Bernard can't find his wife and he wonders where the hell the rescue planes are.
Eko will pray for her and the rescue planes.

As they all sleep under a full moon, the Tailies hear struggles nearby. Goodwin grabs a torch and Ana tells Libby to watch the kids.
Goodwin directs Ana, "Over here."
Only the two of them run into the jungle to check it out. They come upon bloody Eko; he killed 2 'others/people' with a rock. {He looks like he was gonna eat them. lol. OK, if we remember from "A Tale of Two Cities" Ben says he wants lists in 3 days!  How did Goodwin get info to Ben that fast?}

Day 2.
Daylight:
Eko stands in his bloody white shirt.
Ana looks over the two dead shoe-less Others and notes, "No wallets. No cell phone. No keys. Nothing."
She walks over and asks Eko, who just removed his shirt, if he’s okay. He doesn’t respond.
Nathan comes running out of the jungle to inform the camp that, "Three other people are missing. The blond guy, the curly hair guy and the German who was helping with the injured" {3 other people? Does that mean 3 additional people or what?}
Ana-“Where did they come from? How many there were?”
Nathan-“No, I didn't see anything. Who are these people?”
Eko takes a stick from the brush.
Ana-“I don't know. They're out here in the jungle with no shoes, nothing in their pockets, no labels on their clothes. {Labels, like Gucci or Prada? Lol} These people were here before us.”
Ana declares, “We need to get off the beach. We need to find a safer place.”

{A guy with one red-topped sneaker standing behind Donald, I just hand to note this guy only had one shoe on.}

Concerned Nathan wonders, “We've got kids and people that are seriously hurt. Where are we going to go? How are we going to move them? And what about the signal fire? How are we going to get rescued if we're off the beach?”
Goodwin feels Nathan is right.
Ana-“They have satellites. The black box. We don't need a fire for them to find us.”
Cindy the stewardess states, ”Yes, we do. Before the crash, the pilot said we'd lost communication; we were turning back. We were flying for two hours in the wrong direction. They don't know where to look.”
Nathan just looks at Ana.

Day 3.
Ana is making her "Cool Killer Chick" vest! (Cutting up her jacket). Libby tells Ana about Donald's leg; the infection is getting worse, "He'd be the 4th to go!"
Ana- "What are we supposed to do about that?"
Libby looks disappointed. {The 4th to go where? Leave? How many dead bodies got pulled out of the water? Are they counting those? Why would Nathan say '3 other people are missing? What are the correct number of people?}

Day 5.
Bald Donald dies.
Goodwin and Nathan put him in the grave. {At the funeral I count 16 people and that includes Goodwin and Nathan and the 2 kids. I counted possibly 9 graves. Ana wedding ring on}
Eko stands alone with his stick.

Day 7.
The men circle around a frantic chicken, scrambling to catch it. Goodwin catches it and breaks its neck. {Chicken! Who else has chicken? Ben and the Others!} We see them eating their chicken. {Here I count 16 adults, no children. Number of people not consistent}
Shirtless Eko sits alone and is crafting his Jesus stick; carving scripture into it.
Libby offers him chicken right out of her hand
.
He's not spoken in a week and Libby wonders why he isn't talking. Eko doesn't answer.
Libby-"Hey. It wasn't your fault you know. You were just defending yourself."
Eko listens but continues work on his stick.

Day 12.
Everyone is pretty much just sitting on the beach….sad and waiting.
Ana is crafting a curved spear. {Looks like a hockey stick, now I’ll add polo stick to that description} She heard "a pig" or something out there. Maybe they can have some bacon tomorrow." {Pig, Bacon, she was a cop. LOL}
Ana looks over at the kids playing with a stick. {Yeah, does she know they're going to be taken?} Goodwin notices her watching the kids. When Ana asks him ‘What?’, Nathan strolls back on to the beach.
Ana-"Where were you?"
Nathan had to go to the bathroom.
Ana-"We have a system for that. We go in pairs."
Nathan apologizes but seems to be getting a little annoyed with her.

At night everyone is sleeping by campfire. Shoe-less 'Others' come and literally snatch up the children and adults. In the distance you can hear a kid yell, “Help us, please!”
As Ana runs after the kids a hooded Other jumps in front of her! In all the chaos Ana kills one of them {a female} with a rock.
Gone are Nancy, Jim and Eli are among the taken and the two kids. { That's 5 people}
Ana asks Libby {Goodwin is right there!} which way did they go and when she doesn’t get an answer Ana tries to wake up the dead Other. “Wake up! Wake up! WHO ARE YOU?! Talk to me!”

Goodwin declares the woman dead.
Ana takes a pocket knife and a folded up list off the body.
{Torn yellow lined/legal paper.}
It is a list of 9, “Of us.” {Ana has ring on}
Eko looked around but there is no sign of them. Ana questions him but he doesn’t talk.
Ana yells, “What needs to happen to make you say something?!”
Nathan tells her to calm down and they’ll figure it out.
Pissed off Ana presents the ‘list of names of every person they took’ to Nathan. The list indicated all nine names, what they were wearing, what they looked like…”One of them had a list of us!”

Nathan suggests they could have gotten their names from the people they already took.
Ana-“Nobody knew anybodies names the first night.”
Nathan-“Maybe they’re watching us.” {Ya fucking think?!} All of a sudden Ana inquires about him being gone for two hours yesterday. Nathan again insists he was going to the bathroom.
Goodwin tells them to stop, “We’re all scared. Let’s not get paranoid here. We don’t know anything.”

Bernard feels Goodwin is right, “Why would they try to infiltrate us? That’s crazy.”
Libby-“Well whoever they are they know we’re here. We need to leave this beach.”
Torn Ana says to Goodwin, “You said we need to keep the signal fire burning.”
Goodwin-“I think it's time we let it go out.”
Nathan and Ana share another intense look at each other.

Day 15.
Ana, Goodwin, Bernard, Libby, Cindy, Eko and Nathan have been walking for three days. Ana {with a pointy spear} gives them a 5 minutes break. Nathan suggests they stay at a stream with the fruit and a rock wall. The rest of the group all look to Ana for approval.
She agrees, "Fine. Okay. This will work".

Day 17.
Ana is digging a pit/hole by herself!
Libby chats with Ana about Nathan being missing for two hours that day back at the beach.Creeps me out, Ana. Do you really think it's possible that one of us…one of them?"
Ana-"Why do you think I'm digging this hole?” {They know they are “them"}

Day 19.
Bernard and Nathan build a rabbit trap.
Ana nonchalantly walks right up to Nathan and kicks him in the face. She alone carries unconscious Nathan and throws him in the pit. {She dug that ENORMOUS pit in two days by herself. She is awesome! What is with these 'tiny' jungle women and their invulnerable physical strength? HA!}

Ana tells him they’re gonna have a little talk. Nathan demands to be let out as he didn't do anything, but Ana closes the stick hatch door on him and walks away.
She walks over to the rest of them and announces that "He wasn't on the plane." {Sound familiar?} he tells them "We were in the air for two hours I didn't see him once. Not once"
Goodwin-“It’s a big plane, Ana. Just because you didn’t…”
Cindy, who prides herself on being really good with passenger’s faces, insists she didn't see him either. {What's the truth?}
Libby adds that Nathan never talks about himself, “Anytime I ask him anything he just dodges.

Bernard wonders if he really were one of them why would he still be there. Ana’s going to find out. In the distance Nathan is still calling out for Ana to “Let me out!

Intimidating Eko lurks silently a few feet away from the group with his threatening stick. Ana asks Eko if he’s got a problem with this. Eko doesn’t reply.
Night:
Ana, with a torch, interrogates Nathan at the pit/hole. She opens the stick hatch lid and asks him where the kids are, twice.
Nathan looks up at her, never answers that question; he doesn't respond to it at all.
Ana asks where he’s from.
Nathan-“Canada.”
He was in Australia on a company retreat. {YEP!}
Ana-“Where are they?...The rest of your retreat! Where are they?”
Nathan-“They weren’t on the plane. I stayed a couple extra days to sight see.”
Ana wonders how come nobody saw him on the plane.
Nathan insists, “I was in the lavatory.”
Ana-“For two hours?!"
Nathan doesn’t remember seeing Ana Lucia on the plane.
Ana-“That’s because you weren’t on it.”
She closes the hatch lid on him.

Day 23.
Ana is still interrogating Nathan in the pit/hole about the whereabouts of the kids. He's not talking! She angrily throws a rock at him to make him get up and reveals that someone's been giving him food. {Who has been taking care of him?}
Ana asks the group who gave him food. She speaks directly to Bernard, “I’m trying to find out what They did to us and you’re taking care of em.”
Bernard –“I didn’t do anything. And what if you’re wrong, Ana? We don’t even know if there is a spy.”
Ana and Libby feel that “They” haven’t come to pick them off like at the beach, once they put him in the pit. Ana demands to know who gave him food. Eko steps forward. {Actually steps up behind Ana.}
Ana-“You?”
Eko doesn’t answer her, he just gives her a disgusted look and walks away.

Ana is at the stream drinking water out of her hands and Goodwin shows up. Ana uses the pocket knife to cut food. {Looks like an onion}
Goodwin seems concerned and tells Ana, "I’m worried about you, Ana. You've had him down there for four days."
Ana promised the little girl she'd get her home to her mom.
Goodwin asks her is she has any kids.
Ana-"No.”
He tells her that "We should let him go. We're not savages." {We're not savages!}
Ana says if they were savages she would have cut off his finger already, “That’s tomorrow.” {She's a torturer?}
At night Nathan jolts awake in the pit/hole.  Goodwin pulls Nathan up with a rope and tricks Nathan into thinking he’s letting him go by saying they all think Ana Lucia’s gonna hurt him and he needs to get away from there. He gives him food and tells him to go, directing him to the beach 5 miles away. Nathan takes a couple of steps and Goodwin grabs him and breaks his neck.

Day 24. {A short whoosh sound introduces this day. It is not a flash whoosh sound}
Ana wakes up next to Goodwin who is already awake watching her as if waiting for her to wake up. The rest of the camp is sleeping.

Cindy runs out of the jungle to inform Ana that Nathan is gone. {Watch the camp all wake up/get up at the exact same moment!}
They check the pit/hole and it’s empty.
Ana feels that “they’ve” found them, “It's time to move.”

Day 26.
Chief Ana Lucia leads her flock to the Ocean. She looks at the waves. Goodwin is at her side.
Day 27.
The gang carrying their sticks/hockey sticks arrive at a door. {It is not covered by vines}
Cindy asks, “What is it?
Ana doesn’t know but answers, “Some sort of bunker.”

Libby-“Do you think it’s theirs?”
Silent Eko pulls open the door.

The word “Quarantine” is stenciled on the inside of the door.

 They walk down the corridors with lit torches.
The Dharma logo identifies it to be the Arrow Station.
Cindy-“What is this place?”
Goodwin says it looks like some sort of storage facility.
Ana fiddles with some knobs and discovers there is power/electricity.

Ana opens an old crate and in it they find: A book that Bernard picks up and quickly puts down, a glass eye and a radio. {I wonder how many people on the island now or have in the past been missing an eye?}

Eko picks up the book; it’s a holy book.

Outside Bernard tries the radio. “Hello. Hello. Can anybody hear me?”
He gets only noise and light static.
Goodwin literally takes the radio out of his hands, puts the antenna down and claims, “The hills are blocking it. If we want a signal we need to get to higher ground.” {Just like Sayid had said!}

Seeming like he’s bothered by this inconvenience Goodwin says "I'll do it."
Ana wants to go along. {When Ana says this watch at how Goodwin gives a look at Bernard.} Goodwin suggests Ana stay and get the place set up as a shelter.
She feels they can be back in a couple of hours and they can all do it.
She wants to go with Goodwin.

On their trek to higher ground, Ana asks Goodwin, “Why do you think they’re doing this?”
Goodwin-“Why do I think whose doing what?
Ana wonders why They attack them.
Goodwin- "Maybe… they're not… attacking us"
Ana- “Yeah, they just drag us into the jungle every now and then. No real harm done.”
Goodwin feels that’s a good point.
Ana- “Why do you think they take some of us and not the others?”
Goodwin- “Uh…that first night they took the strongest of us, our quiet friend, three other guys. They’re all athletic… tough… threats" {Isn’t their quiet friend Eko?!}
Ana-“They didn't take you." {That's because at this point the has to keep an eye on her.} Goodwin guesses they changed their plan after two of them got killed.
They take a break.
Goodwin asks Ana for the knife and cuts fruit for Ana. {We are sure to be shown a close up of her touch his finger.}

Ana asks him where he thinks they got it/the US military knife, “I mean they don’t even wear shoes.”
{Goodwin’s right pant leg has a tear in it.}

Ana shows him the tang stamp on the knife. She says that knife is probably 20 years old, “You don’t see these anymore. Yet here it is…on this island. Weird, huh?”

{I think the following dialogue is important. It shows Ana starting to realize/remember things, although she may have her facts a little confused.}

Ana- "When you ran out of the jungle the day of the crash… how did you, how did you find Bernard up in the tree?"

Goodwin- "I heard him shouting from the beach" {Maybe he can see the future.}
Ana- "From the beach."
Goodwin- "Why are you asking me about that Ana?" {As if she 'should' know the answer.}
Ana- "Did he see you out there? Is that why you pretended to be one of us? You ran out of the jungle 10 minutes after the crash, you weren't wet… you were never even in the ocean." {Watch Goodwin’s body language here.} Where are they…your friends? Nathan…what did you…”
Goodwin-"If you had cut off his finger and he still told you he was on the plane, I think maybe you would have started to believe you had the wrong guy.”
Ana asks if he killed him.
Goodwin-“Nathan was not a good person... That's why he wasn't on the list."
He goes on to tell her the children are fine, “They’re better off now.” {I think it's here that Goodwin realizes that Ana is a threat to the situation.}
They fight!
Goodwin picks up the spear and in their wrestling the spear and the two fall down a hill.

Ana uses the spear to spear Goodwin.

Ana arrives back with the group and they wonder where Goodwin is.
Ana only says that they’re safe here now.

Day 41.
Bernard turns on the radio only a couple of minutes a day to see if he gets a signal. Ana feels he's wasting his time because there is no signal.
Bernard hears someone on the other end of the radio!
The Voice/Boone-“Hello. Hello. Anybody out there? Mayday. Mayday.”
Bernard is getting excited-“Repeat your transmission.
The voice/Boone- “Hello. We’re survivors of Oceanic flight 8 1 5. Please copy..
“Bernard-“We’re survivors of Oceanic flight 8 1 5.”
Now it’s Ana turn to literally take the radio away from him saying, "It’s them. It's them. They’re trying to draw us out. They're trying to find us.”
Bernard is hopeful because the voice knew the flight number. But Ana chalks it up to them knowing because Goodwin knew the flight number.
Bernard is getting upset, “But what if there really are survivors out there.”
Ana-"There are no survivors! This is our life now… get used to it.” {Yeah, they don't need to be found, their all where they're supposed to be.}

Ana sits at the stream with the radio nearby and she starts to cry. Eko stands near her and tells her it’s going to be okay.
Ana- “What, you talking now?”
Eko-“It’s been 40 days.”
Ana-“You waited 40 days to talk?”
Eko-“You waited 40 days to cry.”
Compassionate Eko holds broken Ana.

Day 45. {Short whoosh sound, not the flash whoosh sound}
Cindy and Libby are working on the fishing net.
Cindy sees a body face down in the water at the shoreline. There’s a small piece of raft a few feet away from him.
The girls retrieve Jin from the water. {What a coincidence, they find the fisherman!}

Jin is blindfolded like a prisoner.
Eko removes his blindfold and asks,Who are you? Where are you from?
Jin replies in Korean.

Ana tries to convince her small tribe that because Jin has a broken handcuff on he’s a threat but the tribe doesn’t feel the same.
Jin breaks free and runs! {With a stick attached to his tied hands} They run after him!
Jin ran right to Michael and Sawyer; even calls out their names.
We see images of Eko beating the men and the tribe dragging the 3 Castaway's through the jungle in nets and throwing them in the vacated pit/hole.
Then we get Ana’s perspective on when she planned/staged that she wanted in the pit with the three Castaways.  She tells Eko to hit her so it looks like she’s captured as well, all this to get intel about the three men.
Eko does hit Ana.
She is thrown into the pit/hole.

Day 46.
Ana takes the three men out of the pit/hole and brings them to the Arrow Station.

Day 47.
They all take the long trek to the Castaway's beach camp. {We get a shot of Cindy}

Day 48 TODAY.
”Where’s Cindy? Did they take her?”
In the pouring rain the Tailies are calling out for missing Cindy. They all hear whispers; it surrounds them. Ana is armed and ready to fire at the whispers but shoots Shannon.
Michael calls out, “What was that?”, because he didn’t see anything.
Then we see images of Sayid over Shannon’s body, holding her and Ana staring.

The Other 48 days is a GREAT episode! It is filled with so much info and insight!
I know some of you feel I have not given you answers, again, I don't want to tell you what to think or influence a theory you may be onto. This is just the route my detective work took me to and things I got out of an episode.  But I hope it's here you can start to see where I'm coming from.
I feel that this episode shows us many of the connections, not only with all the residents of the island, but with each other and of them all being part of 'something'.

The tail section "survivors" know more of what's going on, who they are and what their jobs/roles on the island are. They are the closest 'link' to helping Ben with the Island. They all know each other.

Clue to the show are always in the title? Yep, the same is true here! Read it again if you have to! YES, I think they are Others, but there's is something else...A different set of 48 days. Hmmm...

Things to Note...Questions to ask...
In the last episode Sawyer tells Michael "I did leave you behind".   He friggin remembers leaving him behind! But that was not the same 48 days... Do you see?!
Ana Lucia is a killer! That is her role.
✈ Doctor.
Two. Twice. Pair. Copy.
Stick. Sticks. Stuck.
The Tailies acquire a bible, a radio and a glass eye.
Crazy. Paranoid.Clinical Psychologist
Goodwin lets Nathan think he's helping him, protecting him from Ana and then Kills him. I think, they already knew each other.
Goodwin vacates the pit by removing Nathan to make room for the Raft Losties.
Two versions of the same situations!
The tail section survivors have very similar dialogue and actions as the fuselage survivors.
✈  The number of survivors not adding up!
✈  The time it takes Goodwin to reach the tail section beach and get info back to Ben with the 'list' is fucked up! It's WRONG.
✈  This Ana was not wearing the clothes we see her in at the bar with Jack in Exodus! Different clothes!
✈  She has on a ring, she doesn't have on a ring!
✈  Nathan from Canada and wasn't on the plane (I note that only because Cindy said he wasn't on the plane.)
✈  Ethan from Canada and wasn't on the plane.
Kate says she's from Canada in Tabula Rasa.
✈  Nathan said he was in the bathroom on the plane (tail section).
✈  Bernard was in the bathroom on the plane (tail section).
✈  Ana calls the Arrow station a 'Bunker' - Hurley calls the Swan station a 'Bunker'
Ana says the military knife is 20 years old.
✈  Locke tells Desmond he hasn't seen a computer looked like that in 20 years.
Ana not too interested in 'rescue' attempts{she knows that they're home}.
✈  Locke not interested in 'rescue' attempts{he knows they are home}.
✈  Both sides have access to a 'radio'.
✈  Nathan is gone for long periods of time in the jungle- Locke is gone for long periods of time in the jungle.
✈  Libby was almost a Dr. (1 year in med school) - Desmond was almost a Dr. once.
✈  Ana creates a system for things - Locke creates a system for the button.
✈  Bernard in a tree- Naomi in a tree(season 3)
✈  Ana revives Emma. Sawyer revives Michael. Jack revives Rose {The word revive means to bring back to life, or bring back to use!}
✈  What's the deal with bathrooms? Bernard, Nathan, Charlie.
Important to remember…BERNARD IS FROM THE TAIL SECTION! What is so important about Bernard? Hmmm?

Ana reminds me very much of the tough chicks that work at the Looking Glass Station! Wink, Wink!

Here's a question….How do we know that the Tailie's were even on a "plane". Yes, we see them in the airport, but to this point we never saw them ON the plane. Maybe they never were.

Is it possible we are seeing a different run through on the Island where things only changed slightly depending on the choices made by the players, or are we seeing a matched set of Tailes who look identical. Could it be a bit of both scenarios?

I still see that even though this adventure game is in play, these people are in desperate need to find out who they are!

Moral of this episode...This is a look at the other 48 days.

Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right. The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either. You all know I hate spoilers, and I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Understood? Good. Let the fun begin! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance. It will get very exciting as we progress into the story.
