"The New Man in Charge"

Let's talk about LOST!  The New Man in Charge.

Here are my notes  about the long awaited 12 minute epilogue; which I will write up in the vein of the Missing Pieces Mobisodes. Remember to click the pics because they're posted here for a reason.
Epilogue "The New Man in Charge"

Orote Peninsula, Guam: Dharma Logistics Warehouse
                                                      THE PRESENT   {uh, as in "gift"}
Two Dharma men {Provisions} are working in the warehouse.   We get a shot of the printing press label maker with  its "backwards/mirror image" plate.
Glen- "How soon do you get those peas labeled?"
Hector-"I don't know. Couple hours."    {He hand cranks and hand cuts the labels.}
Glen- "Hurry it up, man. I already got the rest of the palette loaded."
Hector- "I don't know why you're always in such a hurry, man."  {The fucking White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland!}
Glen- "That's why. We're gonna miss our launch window. I don't wanna be up half a night loading damn boxes."
Ben- "Excuse me."   {Ben wears an Island shirt under his blazer.}
Glen- "Who the hell are you? How'd you get in here?"
Ben- "My name is Benjamin Linus. I'm from the Home Office."
Hector- "Nobody from the Home Office has ever come out here."
Ben- "There's a new man in charge, he sent me."
Glen- "Sent you to do what?"
Ben- "Tie up a few loose ends. Your services are no longer required, gentlemen. Closing this place down. So, you're free to go."
Hector- "But we've been loading the palettes under the drones for like...20 years now."
Glen- "What are we supposed to do?"
Ben- "This is your severance pay. I'd say you can do pretty much anything you want." {Ben hands them envelopes of American cash in hundreds}
Glen- "So, work with the Dharma Initiative?"
Ben- "The Dharma Initiative hasn't existed in almost 20 years."
Hector- "That's not true. We still get a teletype before every drop."
Ben- "It's automated. Comes from the Lamppost station in L.A.. There hasn't been a person posted there since you two started. That's why the man in charge has me going around closing up shop."
Glen- "Lamppost station?"
Ben- "I've already said more than I should've. Before you leave, please lock the doors, turn out the lights."
Hector- "Wait. You can't just walk out of here. We deserve answers!"
Ben- "All right. Before I go I'll let you each ask a question. But just one. So, make it count."
Glen - "Where have we been sending these palettes? Where are they dropped?"
Ben- "An Island."
Glen- "How's that possible? The coordinates are different every time."
Ben- "The Island moves."
Glen- "How does the Island..."
Ben- "Uh-uh! One question. Your turn." {Technically Glen got to ask three.}
Hector- "We're on Guam. So this Island is somewhere in the tropics, right? So explain this. Polar bear biscuits. How is there a polar bear on a tropical island?"
Ben- "Polar bears, actually. Plural. You guys have a DVD player?"
Ben- "So we watch it together and then we all leave. Is that a deal?"
Hector- "Deal."
Glen- "Deal."
Ben- "Sorry about the quality. It's a transfer from an old Betamax." {Ben pockets a Dharma granola bar and eats a Dharma granola bar}

The film/dvd begins...{Be warned! This video is riddled with skips, warps, glitches, and missing bits.}

Dr. Pierre Chang {Wearing a Swan station logo medical/lab white jacket}-
"Hello, I am Dr. Pierre Chang. And this is the orientation video for station one of the Dharma Initiative, the Hydra.  For purposes of security, please do not divulge my name to any outside parties. I wouldn't want to have to resort to using an alias in the future.   The chief purpose of this station is to conduct biological and behavioral research on various animal, bird and marine subjects. {6 caged rabbits}  Here are some of the duties you may be asked to perform... {A crazy voice says "Hurley. Hurley"} ...Genetic alteration.  These fascinating hybrids, or "hy-birds" as we call them, will be released and monitored to see how they adapt to the unique properties of the island... successful advanced studies in larger mammals.  Ursus maritimus, or polar bears, possess a keen sense of memory and adaptability.  These traits make them ideal candidates for electromagnetic studies that will be conducted at a secondary site where their comfort in cold temp... It's important when dealing with the bears that you do not show affection or become attached in any way.  Also, do not underestimate their intelligence and cunning. These rules must always be followed. I repeat, the bears are not your friends.  Rewarding the bear with a fish biscuit, once it has successfully performed a complex puzzle. After the training is completed, you will tranquilize the bear. Affix this tracking device around the subject's neck.  At which point it will be transported to the Orchid station for the next phase of researchRemember, be sure to confirm that the female bears have not been impregnated before transport, as the electromagnetic levels at the Orchid have an extremely harmful effect on early term gestation.   As you've already learned, we do animal research here at Hydra.  Unfortunately, one must consider the most dangerous animal of all... humans.  And so, there is another more secluded test site, where we are conducting significantly more sensitive work. The island's indigenous population, some of you may have heard them referred to as "Hostiles", are acquired on the main island, sedated and brought here, to Room 23. {A "dummy/mannequin" is shown strapped in, in place of a person.}   Because the subjects are unwilling participants, security personnel should always be present during these sessions. Under no circumstances are you to engage subjects in conversation.  The purpose of these interrogations is to better understand the Hostiles' way of life, their origins, and particularly their worship of an island deity they refer to as "Jacob".    After the research team has concluded their tests, inject this into the back of the subject's neck.   Then place these goggles over his or her eyes. Hitting this switch will commence the visualization while the drugs take effect{The lights turn off, loud techno music plays while the video shows images and quotes} The dream-like quality of the film combined with the cutting edge pharmaceuticals will create an amnesia of sorts.  Any memory of his or her interrogation will be effectively wiped clean.   While these interrogative measures may seem extreme, rest assured, they are vital...to temporary truce with the Hostiles is not violated.  This concludes your orientation of the Hydra station. Good luck and remember do not discuss the nature of these experiments with other members of the Initiative.
Enjoy your time here on Hydra Island. Namaste and good l..."
The two men are stunned.

Hector- "I think we're gonna need to see that again."
Ben-"Sorry, we're out of time." {Ben collects his DVD}
Hector- "What did they do to those bears? And what the hell's a 'Hostile?"
Ben-"Goodbye, gentlemen. I have another call to make. Namaste."  {There is an obvious buzzing of a fly/bug}

SANTA ROSA MENTAL HEALTH INSTITUTE
Ben is wearing the same clothes as he wore to the warehouse in "Guam".
Ben- "Hello, I'm here to see Keith Johnson."
Nurse Susie Lazenby- "Are you on his visitor's list?"
Ben- "No. But I'm sure if you give him this note, he'll want to see me."

Walt, a kid in a grownup mental institute,  plays Connect Four solo in the game/rec room.
{The same familiar artwork and colorful cutouts decorate the room}
Ben- "Hello, Walt." {He doesn't call him Keith}
Walt-" What are you doing here?"
Ben- "Like my note said, a friend of yours sent me."
Walt- "I don't have any friends."
Ben- "We all have friends. Even me."
Walt- "You here to kidnap me again?"
Ben- "I'm genuinely sorry about that. But what's done is done. I can't change the past. I can only take responsibility for it. Walt, I understand what you've had to go through. I know the difficulties you've had pretending to be someone you're not.   {Walt takes off the legs of the Connect Four grid} Walt, I'm here to help you."
Walt- "Why?"
Ben- "Because you're special. And I bet nobody's told you that in a very long time."
Walt- "What good does that do me?"
Ben- "We need you. You have work to do. Starting with helping your father."
Walt- "My father's dead."
Ben- "Doesn't mean you can't help him. Will you go with us, Walt?"    {Ben places a wrapped DI granola bar on top of the red game pieces. Walt picks it up.}

Outside the building at night, Ben is encouraging cautious and unsure Walt as they walk through the picnic area and get into a blue Dharma van.
Ben-"Come on, it's OK. You ride shotgun."
Hurley-"Dude."
Walt- "Hurley."
Hurley- "It's great to see you, Walt."  {Jacob music plays}
Walt- "I kept hoping one day somebody would come back for me. They said I was crazy."
Hurley-"You're not crazy, dude. Not even close. You just need to get back to the island, that's all. It's where you belong. It's where you've always belonged."
Walt- "Why?"
Hurley- "I wanna talk to you about a job. All right, Ben, let's get out of here. It's time for us all to go home."
Ben starts the van and they drive away.
Things to Note...Questions to ask...
* Everything blurs together!  "This Place"-the "Island"-Guam-Santa Rosa-On "Island and off "Island", etc.
* Ben and Hurley travel to and from the "Island".   If you have to be sedated to "transport" to the "Island" then who sedates and wakes the other?!! lol
* The {"Hy"- "high"} bird is in a covered darkened cage...SLEEPINGDrugs! Altered State of Consciousness!
* Confined. Alone. Solitary. Shutoff. Shutdown
* The Hydra Station is number 1; the Orchid Station is next step of the research.
* Computers, Programs, Drones, Machines. {"acting" on behalf of a human.}
* Drugs-High (hy), Hallucinogens, Sedatives, Tranquilize, Injections, Hypnosis, Brainwashing.
* Mind games, manipulation.
* GAME. Rules.
* Dream Dreamlike
* Mental health. Feeling alone. Lost. Santa Rosa.
* Tabula Rasa
* The Lamppost station is automated; hasn't had a person there in 20 years and The Hydra video shows a dummy/mannequin in place of a human
* What is real and what is not real?
* The "date" on the printout is not a real date.
* The "Island" is a place of learning.  An Institute is also known as a place of learning.
* Faraday's rat maze
* Tests. Experiments.
* Challenges
* Walt's name is Keith Johnson.
* Walt is presented with a "job".
* Walt is not 20 years old and we just learned the DI hasn't existed in almost 20 years.
* What does "dead" really mean?
* Walt is wearing a zip up hoodie like Michael and Hugo wore in Everybody Loves Hugo
* You need to consume a Dharma food product to be "transported" to the "Island".  The use of sedative and/or hallucinogen is what brings you to the "Island"
* The Island moves...is the "Island" really a ship?
* The handle on the door to Room 23 is like one that is on a refrigerated room or meat locker.
* Candle, Halliwax, Wickmund all represent "light".
* The Lamppost's "church" ends up being the place where Jack, Christian and friends are embraced by the warm bright "light".  The "light" lives in all of our hearts and the heart of the "Island".  Ah, lovely metaphors at work.
* The Dharma Initiative info from the film/dvd brings us back to the information we learned in the first ARG "The LOST Experience".
 - I also want to provide you with The Psychology test video from The LOST Experience from back in June of 2006.

What the "hex" going on?!  Well, people, things and places are not what you think...Ha, imagine that.

First...For those of you who feel disappointed that we didn't get a look at life on the "Island" under its new management...We did!!  Because it's all "the Island".
They are NEVER out of the confines of the "ISLAND" or whatever the "Island" really is. We've all been down the rabbit hole which just happens to be over the rainbow in OZ.

It is obvious (and not all in my head) events and places we've seen in the six years happened within the "confines" of the "Island" adventure.  It was shown all over this 12 minute epilogue.
This also connects my Wizard of Oz-Alice in Wonderland idea...what we saw happened in a sleep state and/or altered state of consciousness where things are blurred together.

This Zen Buddhism based journey involves altered states of consciousness and levels of consciousness (sleep state), and states of existence/being along the path.  The "Island's" role in this may also be aided with the addition of mediation, sedation, drugs, hypnosis, and/or even a computerized merged reality experience...the matrix.

If everything is really occurring and blurred within the confines of a specific space, one with distinct boundaries, then we still need to wonder...where this place is.   Is it all completely in the mind, consciousness/subconscious {with the use of drugs and or meditation aided by machine/computer}
or is it literally on an island or in a building or a prison, or are they on a ship in confined pods?  Is it possible that this adventure can happen all while you're in the comforts of your own home?

Let's look at the first part of what we're shown:
The "cutting edge" out of existence Dharma Initiative has only two clueless dudes in "Guam", hand cranking labels and packing pallets on autopilot (Automated) for 20 years! They don't even know about the Lamppost station. Really?!   These people are literally "trapped in a fucking box"!
Not only are we being shown the DI surviving under an auto-piloted front, but we're also seeing more people who are metaphorically "stuck" and oblivious that there is a whole entire world out there that they could and should be living in.  These two men are living in a redundant cycle with no comprehension of how to do it any other way.
Interestingly Ben, who just turned Glen and Hector's lives upside down,  limits the men's questions and is obviously restricting them from learning more even though they are curious.  Ben's entire demeanor is very mysterious and cunning and kind of suspicious.
Walt, a child who is residing at a mental institution for adults {I've only ever seen adults there}, is called upon by Ben via Hurley.    Hurley, Jacob-like, wants to talk to Walt about a "job" but also refers to Walt belonging on the island and also feeling positively that it's time to get out of there and that it's time for all of them to go home.  Is it just Walt's turn to watch the "Island" or is he "indigenous/hostiles" to the "Island"  {Ahem, as Candle mentions "there are"} and is he just being returned?   And I must ask what Walt's "special" role on the "Island is; although now we see he must become the new man in charge.  Is his role to take the place of the Jacob or MIB identity?   {John was "special" and connected with Smokey.}   Hurley states it's time for "all" of them to go home, so if the "Island" and the outside world are not really of the same space is Hurley gathering up all the natives to return them to the "Island" as well, or are they just all ready to go home?  Where is home?   It must be somewhere over the rainbow.

Are we still the victims of a Long Con?   Well, there continues to be a game element and the story still reeks of "Smoke and Mirrors", magic, illusion and lots of razzle freakin' dazzle.

The still seemingly vague and inconclusive {glitchy} information we received from the Hydra orientation film connects many things we learned in the first ARG, The LOST Experience.  Do I disregard any of that valuable time consuming researched shit load of information I learned with playing that game?  Nope.  Because we know and accept this story is multi layered.  Nevertheless, I found this Hydra Orientation film to be filled with a plethora of insight and answers.

We have been fed hints to breeding and "using" the natives of the "Island" all of these years along with the path to enlightenment part of the story.   Keep in mind the story is a wonderfully huge metaphor being narrated via all the puzzling problems and imagery we see on and with the "Island".    So the information Candle gives us can be perceived as him talking about Jack, John and the rest of the  people on the "Island" and not "bears" and "birds".

But who knows, maybe Walt is a hybrid {or really  a "hy" bird, as in they're all "high", again as Candle outright states},  maybe they all are.   Or they're all Hostiles, native to the "Island" and they're the ones being broken down and reprogrammed.

Marvin Candle's drivel about the viewer not telling anyone his name lest he be reduced to needing an alias is total nonsense, but his statement, "The Hostiles are acquired on the main island, sedated and brought here" is not.
Think about it...Are we really talking about "hostiles", as in natives to an actual island or are we really talking metaphorically about angry and lost people?  Have we witnessed the literal kidnapping of natives to an island and their being used as test subjects by the Dharma Initiative or about is it about a lost person who can't bear his burden any longer and is in need of a life changing journey to put him in the right light so he can live the life he is meant to live.  That may be a form of therapy or rehabilitation.   It very well may be that it is a combination of some of these clues.
We can watch the orientation footage literally, accepting the information Candle is telling the viewer as facts regarding the D.I. and their "programs".   And you can watch it understanding the subliminal and metaphoric connections to Jack, John, Hurley and the rest of the Castaways while ignoring the bits about the DI and their programs.  Of course you can also watch it while mastering how all of those factors fit and work together.

The visual of the white rabbits in the orientation video again for  me, correlates to a trip down the rabbit hole and not to some gobbledygook Marvin Candle's video is trying to distract us with.

Hurley, the new man in charge, seems to be literally moving stuck people forward; liberating them.
Bah! Maybe he's just pushing the clueless people out.

"This Place"...the "Island" is a place of learning.  It doesn't matter if  you think it's run by a bunch of crackpot scientists, doctors, inventors, the military, actors, gamers or it's a real island that you can go on a journey to find yourself,  you're purpose there is not only to be challenged and tested, but you will learn, heal and be free and reborn.   It is part of the journey to enlightenment.

I do want to reflect on a moment we spent with Hurley and his adventure on the "Island" with his being confused on whether "Island" events are real or part of his subconscious.  We're given so much important information from his friend, Dave.  Dave hints to things being faked.   But more importantly is the dialogue Dave has about the "need to wake up" Hugo.
Dave tries to get Hurley to fall back off the cliff, not so he can kill himself but so it will "wake" him up.   Hugo perceives the going over the cliff as an act of physical death but what it really represents is a metaphoric "death", an ending and a means to bring you back to life.  It is very Zen.

So with this "Big Finale" it's time for us all to go home.   After all, Home is where your Heart is.
It is also where you end up after you run all the bases on the field, or you work your way all the way around the game board indicating the completion of the game...back to home.

Now, if you're ready and only if and when you're really ready...
Come on, do it, I know you want to...Close your eyes, tap your heels together three times and think to yourself...There's no place like...Home.
...And now you can wake up.
At least until your next adventure, that is.

Mysteries of the Universe. Part 3
Via ABC.com

Narrator: "We now return to Mysteries of the Universe: The Dharma Initiative."
A church. Normally a place for worship, not a place of scandal.   This church in Los Angeles has always been regarded as a sanctuary for the mind and spirit.  Perhaps there is a secondary element to this church that our researchers pray to uncover.   Mysteries of the Universe has discovered that this church has quite a large collection basket.   Records state that this church has received funds upward of $1.5 million from a private organizationObserve the octagonal logo in the upper right corner. This is the same image found on the job posting.  We have found hundreds of invoices for enough supplies to sustain a colony for quite some time.  But not all items purchased make sense.  Strange requests and purchase orders that cover the most unusual spectrum of mystery.
1.4 tons of seeds.
Ammunition for M1 Carbines.
Pneumatic tubing.
Animal care supplies.
Zoo keeper supplies.
Electronics.
Televisions.
Speakers.
Wires.
But enough to service a town. Electromagnetic coils and Tesla coils.
Psychotropic drugs. Other pharmacological supplies.
And soft restraints.
Ostensibly, the church is responsible for the procurement of these strange wares. However, our reporters' investigations into the church's financial records have proven there is nothing unusual. Furthermore, a stunning discovery is that the church does not own the very land it sits on.  Research into the landowner's name has led our intrepid team to discover a dizzying array of shell companies that have ordered all the unusual supplies.
Our investigation brought us to this man: a behavioral psychologist that works at a Los Angeles clinic. He, too, claims he was interrogated by The Dharma Initiative. He did not wish to be identified."

Man in the Shadow: "My name is [censored]. I'm a behavioral psychologist with a strong background in pharmacology. The interviews were intenseThey also interviewed my colleague.  He was a chemist. Name was Oldham, or something or other. They asked me questions about every facet of my job, everything I've ever learned or... drug reactions, side effects, even things we were still researching. Classified research. Ludovico, etc."

Narrator: "The Ludovico technique. It's where a subject is repeatedly told a series of phrases or images, and upon repetition, the subject may eventually believe they are true.  Some believe this may be called brainwashing."

Man in the Shadow: "Oldham went but I considered everything, and I didn't think it was a humanitarian mission at all. When it came to my ethics and values, it it crossed the line. I thought it was a cult. Not religious, but certainly it had the same feeling and actions of a cult."

Narrator: "Ammunition, drugs, tranquillizers. But perhaps the strangest of all: submarine fuel.  What type of organization would maintain and operate a submarine fleet? Why would they need one? The only time a submarine is used for clandestine purposes and operations is to sneak in and out of contested waters, under the cover of...liquid night.  During World War II, submarines were regularly used for transport to areas in the non-industrial locations in the South Pacific, not suitable for large ships. Many of these vessels were lost at sea.   But could they also be stolen, or bought on the black market by The Dharma Initiative? Seemingly limitless resources, and tendrils that touch every corner of society.
More, when we return."

What is the Dharma Initiative up to?
We need to find out why this organization feels the need to gather up people who seem amenable for coercion, and contain them in an environment that is cutoff from the rest of the world. How is it that this very wealthy consortium gets to play by their own rules in this global game they are playing?

Brainwashing, psychotropic drugs, mind manipulation are a few of the tools being used in association with this troop of people.

In this clip we hear about a place of sanctuary for the mind and spirit, but may also hold a secondary element. Is it possible this combo could be one of the things I’ve been mentioning over the years… Enlightenment and self discovery occurring under the guise of a game…It’s a possibility.

We should keep the bits of fun info we get from these clips and DamonCarltonandaPolarBear.com.

At this point I would not be surprised if a “Mass Brainwashing” leads us right into the show FlashForward.

I am pleased with the detailed notes I've taken for my LOST blog, as they are riddled with clues the writers put in the story subliminally. Insights to all the things that are being brought to the surface now, have been right in front of your eyes all along. But we still need to be very careful of something I still feel very strongly about...People and things are not what you think they are. There is still a literal blurring of what is being presented to us.

Cult or Con? We have been exposed to a series of phrases and images, and upon repetition… you may believe these things to be true.
Things to Note...Questions to ask...
* Who is the bald mystery man. Hmmm...
* Cult.
* Shadows in the background.
* Military. Submarine.
* The supplies requested connect to the “Island” indeed.

Vocabulary and Research…
* A psychoactive drug, psychopharmaceutical or psychotropic substance is a chemical substance that acts primarily upon the central nervous system where it alters brain function, resulting in changes in perception, mood, consciousness and behavior. These drugs may be used for recreation to purposefully alter one's consciousness as entheogens for ritual or spiritual purposes, as a tool for studying or augmenting the mind, or therapeutically as medication.

* The Ludovico technique is a fictional aversion therapy from the novel and film A Clockwork Orange. It involves the patient being forced, through the use of a speculum holding his eyes open, to watch violent images for long periods of time, while under the effect of a nausea-inducing drug.

"Ars gratia artis"

ARG or not to ARG…that is the question. Of course we have to ask this question, after all, a few months ago Damon and Carlton were noted saying there would not be an ARG this hiatus. Yet here we are playing… something.

We’ve received a few separate bits of material from the powers that be.

Here's what we have so far:

1). LOST UNIVERSITY.

2). Mysteries of the Universe: The Dharma Initiative

3). A couple of video commercials and a segment from America's Most Wanted. {Shown at Comic Con.}

4). DamonCarltonandaPolarbear.com

Are they separate entities or do all roads lead to “The Island”?

A person of note with LU at this point is Adam Nussdorf.
His number was written on the back of a flyer for LOST University that was handed out at comic-con along with a note that said that he could possibly need a TA. When I called the number got a prerecorded message mentioning his sabbatical. "Professor Adam Nussdorf at Lost University. Professor Nussdorf is on sabbatical so will return to his office on September 22nd. This machine currently does not accept voicemail."
The university's news page posted that he was recently promoted to the head of the Department of Media Studies and Online Education. The position was created to make sure all the classes are designed to educate and enhance viewer appreciation of LOST in preparation of season 6.

MY NOTES On Adam Nussdorf: According to his IMDb page he is associated with LOST. And interestingly enough the two titles in particular correlate to his current circumstances. This is what it shows:
Miscellaneous Crew:
“LOST” (production staff) (2 episodes, 2009)
 Because You Left (2009) TV episode (production staff)
 The Lie (2009) TV episode (production staff) (uncredited)

As far as higher learning goes, I wonder how many will make the Dean’s List. And Yes, I already purchased my LU tee-shirt and sweatshirt.

Mysteries of the Universe. The Dharma Initiative:
This is an abc show from "back in the day". The video segments seem dated i.e. the 1980’s, but are they?
Here are the dates that were listed in a KIA ad in my Entertainment Weekly as the dates for the new clips to be released: {Note the dates reflect The Numbers}
7/23/09

8/4/09

9/8/09

10/15/09

11/16/09
Why is an "old episode" of this abc show being resurrected for us? The clips blend footage of the Dharma Initiative with images of "persons" who have appeared on LOST episodes. To date, an important fact that is being delivered is about "Brainwashing".
You can follow the clips here on my site or at abc.com

Television Ads:
Comic Con 2009 gave us a look at a different perspective on things.
Mr Clucks- Hugo Reyes Owner and CEO of Mr. Clucks {Is that Dave leaning on the counter?!} He claims ever since he won the lottery he's had good luck. He had a dream while camping out under the stars on an Outback vacation; a dream of chicken. Thus the invention of Outback Roasters. Cost $4.42. It's chicken heaven.

The dad and son at the counter look similar to, or represent a Michael and Walt image. But this bald dude looks like Dave. What say you?

Oceanic Airlines- In the air since 1979, thirty years with a perfect safety record.
"Our Skies Lead To Your Destiny"

America's Most Wanted- Kate is featured on America's Most Wanted. This clip has a completely different version of Kate's life of crime.

DamonCarltonandaPolarbear.com:

At Comic Con 2009, Paul Scheer presents Damon and Carlton with a tacky velvet painting of the two creators and a polar bear. Paul has been working on this thing for the past six months.
Paul hawks his art work and tells the crowd of Lost fans to head over to http://damoncarltonandapolarbear.com and view his handiwork.

 Then through Paul’s shenanigans we are given "Hints".

Here's a quick run through of things:

* In the comments of Paul’s site/post Get to Know Your Lost Cast Members: Vincent the Dog, is a message from a user called Asst. “Mr. Scheer, We have left you three phone messages and you have ignored three emails from our office, please contact us immediately."

* VIP DocArzt is contacted and receives a letter from Paul.

* A comment from Alexandra Miller to Paul - “Again, we request that you contact us immediately and halt posting anything new on this blog. Alexandra Miller Ronie Midfew Arts"

* Paul gets some news and inside info from an intern at ABC. {His art is in the trash!}

* A very excited Paul Scheer visits the ABC lot looking for Damon, Carlton and his “painting”.

* Some numbers are posted on Paul’s site.

* The video of Paul and Scott on the ABC lot. There are hints and clues in it; Map, Mr. Clucks, Mr. Friendly, a broken rose, set design for the temple, a pile of shredded paper, and Damon walking by Paul at the dumpster talking to someone on the phone "Kill em. I don't care what his motivation is, make him dead". The shredded paper has been put back together by Paul to supposedly reveal the title of the season six opening episode.

LA  X {Does that mean 10, as in 2010 or marks the spot?}

* Paul receives a call from Alexandra Miller. The gets a call from Ronie Midfew and answers/responds to him with Lost quotes/ sound bites.
* There was supposed to be a Facebook page for Alexandra Miller but it ends up comments were left on the wrong Facebook page.
* Paul “misquotes” the Ronie Midfew website - "The 15th is LOST and the 16th will be FOUND" and asks us for suggestions as to what this might mean
.
Paul tells us "Saturday" we will be able to see "dozens" of paintings and some might even be glow in the dark.

* Gets a visit by a man in black- E.Sau.

* Paul will meet Ronie Midfew on 8/14/2009 at 4:08pm

* Paul and Ronie strike a deal. {Hold on the velvet paintings} Something will still happen at midnight on the 15th. He has also met with....{Darlton}

* The Ronie Midfew Arts website gets updated and announces the “Deal” made with Paul.

* Ronie Midfew Arts and DamonCarltonandaPolarBear.com presents - The website is “transformed” and picture frames are displayed. What is this evolving in to?

* The "Hub" page shows a poster for a club event at Bardot nightclub in LA. A few mistakes with the poster like the wrong address for the club, there are three E's in Thee Mike B, and there are spaces within some of the words.

THE POSTER: Address in Hollywood. Bardot-1715 N. Vine St. Hollywood. Judy Garland’s star on the walk of fame is located on 1715 Vine Street. The real address for Bardot is 1735 N. Vine St. And FYI- 1737 N. Vine St is the Spider Club.

* On 8/16- At the club party Sterling Beaumon (Blood on hoodie?) reads notes and gives out a web address.

Here are some important bits that came from the very first "frames" and the 4:38 video that was posted 8/20 on the Hub to kick things off:
* The poster of the Bardot event. Banana Splits. DJ AM.
* Red glow on a group of people on the dance floor with the EXIT sign obvious in the shot.
* Partiality open Swan hatch in the middle of the floor, people dance around it.
* Framed painting of a ship near stairway. {Black Rock perhaps.}
* Shot of DJ AM in the Dj booth.
* Dude with NY Yankees cap on, dancing.
* FLASHING LIGHTS.
* Pumping Techno-Trance music.

I found it very interesting that underage hooded "Ben Linus" {Not Sterling Beaumon} shows up at the club event wearing a {bloody} hoodie.
He delivers a message on behalf of the Dharma Initiative.   They sent him there to make sure everybody is having a great time. They're there to celebrate the partnership of
Ronie Midfew Arts and DamonCarltonandaPolarbear.com, as well as the launch of the Lost Underground Fan Art Project. The next six months this program is not going to be about math, science and puzzles, or even an alternate universe.
This is all about fan appreciation.

Additional Bits:
* We happen to find Rousseau’s Map is translated.
* A Tidbit about the Bearded Men of LOST.
* Info makes its way around the web about Seth Norris Lives.
* The Auction of LOST items.
* A sign on the shop door - Build Your World, this is the organization that Sayid was building structures/homes.

Vocabulary and Research...
* A scavenger hunt is a game in which individuals or teams seek to gather a number of specific items—usually not by purchase—or perform tasks as given by a list. The goal is usually to complete the list first.

* X- Roman Numeral for 10 (decem). 10 comes up in our story ALL the time.
 -X- Marks the spot.
* La Dimension X [Dimension X] (1953) and Nous les Martiens [We The Martians] (1954), Guieu introduced a new hero: Archeologist Jean Kariven. In the Kariven series, Guieu began to explore his favorite themes such as UFO's, close encounters, Erich Von Daniken-like theories of ancient astronauts, secret societies, lost civilizations and occult conspiracies.Throughout, he sprinkled his novels with footnotes claiming that the various facts upon which he was basing his tales were indeed “authentic”. In Nous les Martiens [We The Martians], Kariven discovers that, in the far distant past, men had emigrated to Earth from Mars. Eight more Kariven novels followed, often pitting good aliens from Polaris versus evil aliens from Deneb with Earth secretly caught in the middle. Univers Parallèles [Parallel Universes] featured a crossover with Jerry Barclay.

* A QR Code is a matrix Code (or two-dimensional bar code) created by Japanese corporation Denso-Wave in 1994. The "QR" is derived from "Quick Response", as the creator intended the code to allow its contents to be decoded at high speed. QR Codes are common in Japan, where they are currently the most popular type of two dimensional codes. Moreover, most current Japanese mobile phones can read this code with their camera.

* A Data Matrix code is a two-dimensional matrix barcode consisting of black and white "cells" or modules arranged in either a square or rectangle pattern. The information to be encoded can be text or raw data. Usual data size is from a few bytes up to 2 kilobytes. The length of the encoded data depends on the symbol dimension used. Error Correction Codes are added to increase symbol strength: even if they are partially damaged, they can still be read. A Data Matrix symbol can store up to 2,335 alphanumeric characters.

I will deal with this diversion until the season kicks in, I always do. We'll still compile all the data given to us from posters, websites, locations, TV shows, DVDs, social networks, magazines, books, ads, or any other medium the puppet masters lead us toward. I landed on many more websites than I’ve listed here {you know how over the top I go with research}. And those sites seemed very LOST-like in that they had references that "could be" taken for connections with comic books, video games, The Cobra, John Locke and other image and text references to the "island".

Now, are we supposed to end up on these other sites or is it just a coincidence?
Do we mistake coincidence for fate or vice versa?

This was just a short run down of info we gotten over the past few weeks. I would love it if you discover anything while on this hunt feel free to post it here in a comment for all the LOST fans to keep up with.

Paul went excitedly on a quest to find Darlton and his painting at the studio. He was so damn distracted by dressing up to sneak in and following maps, that he never even saw what was right in front of his eyes.

Through the DamonCarltonandaPolarbear site we learn we're participating in a scavenger hunt of sorts and we don’t even have to leave our homes to do it. Imagine that! Participating in a game with people all over the world via my computer and the Internet without even leaving my home.

At this point all I can say is we are all caught in a net...literally...the InterNET.

Love to all who are "LOST"™

Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right. The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either. You all know I hate spoilers, and I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Understood? Good. Let the fun begin! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance. It will get very exciting as we progress into the story.

December 12, 2008

Not in Portland.

Let's talk about LOST! Not in Portland.
Juliet's back is to us as she sits on a beach looking out over the water at dawn. She is holding a case and crying. We see her get up.

We see her walk the hallway and pass by a man who says "Hello." {Ethan! And this hallway looks very familiar.}

Juliet takes the needle off a record that has ended; there are candles burning. She's still holding the little black case. Her sister Rachel is sleeping.  There is a Ying/Yang Bagua lamp on the nightstand; the book Carrie by Stephen King and lots of prescription bottles too.   Juliet opens this case to reveal it is a syringe and medicine/vaccine.
Rachel wakes up.
Juliet-"We don't have to keep doing this you know."
Rachel-"Are you saying this because you don't think it's gonna work? Or because you're afraid he'll find out."
No answer.
Juliet injects her in her lower belly and tells her she doesn't like her living there alone.  But Rachel likes living on the beach. They are in Miami were every thing's on the beach. {We see out the window an Oceanic plane flies over.}

Juliet stands staring at focused Jack who is talking to Kate via the walki talki about their escape to safety.
Jack-"Kate, listen to me, just listen to me. Do you remember what I told you on the beach? Do you remember what story I told you when you were stitching me up? Do you remember it?!"
Kate-" Yes, yes, I remember."
Jack-" When you get safe, you radio me and you tell me that story."
Kate-"Jack, please."
Jack-"If I don't get a call from you in the next hour I'm going to know something went wrong and he dies!"
Kate-"I can't leave without you!"
Jack-"Yes you are. Go."
Kate-" Jack, I can't!"
Jack-"Go! Now!"
Kate-"No, I can't!"
Jack yells- "Kate, damn it, run!"  {lol! He actually gives her permission to run.}

Kate and Sawyer find new strength and fight off the two Others.

Tom demands Juliet stop the bleeding and stitch Ben up, but she can't fix this; she's not a surgeon. {How convenient!}

Sawyer punches Danny in the nose again and rams his head into the RED button in the cage.  The 3rd smash shocks/zaps Danny. Kate and Sawyer lock the two men in a cage and run.

Tom asks Juliet suggestions on what to do.   Juliet tells the other doctor in the room to find Danny, "Tell him to find Austen and Ford and bring them back."
Jack threatens if they do that then Ben dies; this is not a bluff!
Juliet –"No Jack, you won't."
She instructs them to go "get them" and if they have to "Kill them."

Juliet is walking up to an entrance to a university research lab that requires a key scan access card to enter.  The sign on the door says ACCESS INTO THE BIO-RESEARCH BUILDING THE BIO RESEARCH BUILDING IS AT SECURITY LEVEL 5. It also says 'For those without access, use the intercom system
Juliet enters using a card. {Miami Central University Medical Research Lab. RESTRICTED ACCESS CARD. RESEARCH LAB A-4}
As she walks down a long hallway her cell rings and Dr. Burke answers it.
The call is from Diane of Mittelos BioScience, confirming her appointment with them at 2:00.  Diane goes on to say Dr. Alpert is very much looking forward to meeting. {Doctor Alpert!}
Juliet enters a lab and takes two bottles of medicine for injections and {They are labeled Test Samples} she puts them in her large bag.  All of a sudden the lights go on!  Someone is coming in. Juliet hides. A man and a tall beautiful woman enter; he is showing her around, {or making out…whatever they call it these days. lol}
Juliet's cell rings again and on the 2nd ring she disrupts the call.
"Hello Juliet", says the man standing near her. He asks why she here. Juliet makes up a story about inverting some numbers.
This is Edmund her ex hubby. Edmund introduces Juliet to Sherry.
Edmund says, "Juliet's leaving."
Juliet starts to leave but Edmund stops her and asks, "Jules. Could you please turn off the lights?"
Juliet leaves and turns out the lights.

Back in the O.R. Juliet tells Jack he hasn't thought this through, "Your plan's not gonna work…Your friends aren't going to make it back to your side of the island...Because we're not on that island. We're on a smaller island two miles off shore."
This shocks Jack. Juliet wants to see if they can come up with some kind of peaceful resolution.
Jack laughs, "A peaceful resolution? Is that what you call asking me to kill Ben while on the operating table? Make it look like an accident."
Juliet denies Jacks accusation. Tom looks dumbfounded.
Jack insists she wants Ben to die. The two bicker and yell.
Tom finally yells, "ENOUGH! Get out." {Talking to Juliet.} Tom feels she can't stitch him up so she doesn't need to be there, "Go Julie."
Juliet walks up to Tom and says, "Don't let him fool you. He'll never let a patient just die." She exits.

Danny is yelling for someone to get them out of the cages and they are released.

Sawyer and Kate run through the jungle and they arrive at a beach. Kate sees another island across the way; she is shocked.  Now they need a boat.
Sawyer sarcastically says, "Yeah. A couple of towels and a buffet lunch."
Kate suggests, "We'll just keep following the beach. There's got to be one around here somewhere. How else do they get back and forth?"
Sawyer-"Why don't we just stop and ask for directions?"
Kate calls Jack on the walkie talkie and tells him they need a boat.
In the O.R. Jack yells to Tom, "How do they get off this island?"

Kate and Sawyer are shot at! The walkie is shot out of Kate's hand. It's Danny and a few Others. They have a little shootout.
Kate and Sawyer run back into the jungle and hide. Sawyer shoots two times and runs out of ammo. Kate hears a twig snap, it's Jason! He gets hit with something and falls. It's Alex; she is packing her sling shot!
Alex guides Sawyer and Kate, "This way."
They run and hide underground in a hidden pit. Danny and the guys are right over head but don't find them in their hiding place.
Sawyer–"Nice to meet ya, Sheena."

Juliet in white scrubs, is outside; She is upset and pacing. Tom comes out to tell her Ben's awake. Juliet is shocked and asks "How?"
Tom-"Shephard says he's a spinal surgeon. Not an anesthesiologist. Ben's asking for you."

Kate, Sawyer and Alex exit the underground pit.
Sawyer asks Alex, "This a hobby of yours, under dog? Digging holes?"
Alex-"Yep. That and basket weaving. Want one?" {like in the nut-house?}
Sawyer-"You happen to have a tunnel to the mainland?"
No she doesn't, but she has a boat.  Alex says they can have it but they have to go get her boyfriend first; he is being held prisoner. If they promise to help her, she'll get them back to the other island. So they go get Karl. {NOTE: Alex's EYE COLOR has changed FROM BLUE TO BROWN!}

Jack tells drowsy Ben that he stopped the surgery.
Ben-"I know, I've been able to hear you for a minutes now. It was very cleaver of you. I should've seen it coming.
{Is this part of the game? Are they playing Stratego?}
Juliet comes in to talk with Ben but he wants to talk to her alone; Jack won't allow it.
Ben-"Please. I'm asking you. One gentlemen to another. It won't hurt you to give me three minutes. Will it? I've only got 27 left."
{Like they are playing a gentleman's game! This one's on a timer!}
Jack warns Juliet about touching him or trying anything…She says she won't so Jack grants permission, "You can have three minutes."
Jack watches them from the observation room above.

Juliet and Ben talk. {We see Ben via the mirror.}
Tom joins Jack in the observatory and officially introduces himself to Jack.  We see Juliet put her head in her hands.
Tom shares, "They've got history."

Juliet comes out says to Jack, "I would like for you to go back in there, put Ben under and finish the surgery….Because I'm going to go help your friends escape."   {Note the ring that we have been seeing Tom wear the past few episodes!}
Jack looks up at Tom.

Alpert makes his pitch of Mittelos. Mittelos Bioscience is based in Oregon. We're just outside of Portland.
He is showing images of the "people" of Mittelos. "These shots may seem a little cheese ball, but our people really are this happy. We're privately funded. Privately funded means freedom."
He goes on to show her images from their organized outings in and around the Portland area.  Images of people hiking, biking, river running. {Note we see his reflection in the table.}
Dr. Burke -"When you, your company reached out to me, I was flattered. I don't really know why your company would really want me."
Richard- "You successfully impregnated a male field mice."
Dr. Burke- "He didn't carry to term."
Richard shows her MRI images and asks her what she sees.
Dr. Burke checks it out, "Well, it's a human womb judging from the decomposition of the endrometrium I would say that the woman was somewhere in her 70's."
Alpert- "Well, actually, she's 26."
Dr. Burke wonders, "What happened to her?"
Alpert-"What if I told you, you could have complete freedom and money to find out? We think you're special Dr. Burke. And we want you to lead a team of highly trained people, because we think you're just that good."
Juliet says she can't; her ex husband doesn't want her to have anything.
Alpert asks if they should reach out to him on her behalf.
Alpert wonders, "There must be something he would respond to."
Dr. Burke-"If he were hit by a bus. How bout that? That would work."
She realizes that was a totally inappropriate outburst and turns to say she's sorry, "Whatever you think I am. I'm not. I'm not a leader, Mr. Alpert. I'm a mess."
She leaves crying. {Love the fact that the image of the MRI/womb is on Juliet.}

Juliet walks down a hall and opens the door to the monitor room. She sees where Kate and Sawyer are and also sees that Alex is with them.

A guard/Aldo is outside another building. He's reading a Brief History in Time.
Alex is hoping Karl is in there.
Kate has an idea how they're going to get by with one gun and no bullets.
Aldo is making notes in his book.

Alex, with Kate and Sawyer at gunpoint, marches them up and tells Aldo to open the door. Alex tells Aldo they must have gotten out of their cages; she found them in the jungle.   So Aldo tries call Ben, via Danny, to verify that her prisoners were to be taken there; Alex is not supposed to be there.
{Aldo doesn't know Ben was in surgery today?}
Aldo tells Danny that Alex, Austen and Ford are there. Before he can say much more  Sawyer tackles Aldo.
You can hear Danny saying "Don't believe what she says".
Alex breaks the walkie!
Sawyer holds the rifle over Aldo and says, "Don't get mad at me just cause you were dumb enough to fall for the ol Wookie prisoner gag."
Alex wants to know where Karl is but Aldo isn't telling. Kate tells Sawyer to shoot him in the knee because they don't have time for this!    She takes the rifle from Sawyer and knocks out Aldo. {Not shoot him in the knee.}

Karl is down the hall in room 23.
Sawyer-"Damn good con Freckles. I almost believed you were gonna shoot that boy."
Kate says it wasn't a con.

They find room 23. There is loud Techno beat/music coming from the room.
Sawyer says to the girls, "I ain't feeling this."

Once inside they see it's a brain washing room.
Karl is there with Funky eye wear, and I.V., the music is pumping and the video imagery is playing.  All of them stop for a minute to look, but Sawyer is hypnotized. He's watching the images. {Is this familiar to him? Or memory of a bad rave?}

Here' only a few images…eyes, Plant a good seed and you will joyfully gather fruit, Asian dolls, Ancient coins- one is dated 1921, "everything changes", CD/DVDs, sailboat, compass, a keyboard, flower, moon, (gun chamber Or clock parts? I can't tell), bugs, "We are the causes of our own suffering", fish, nest, speedometer, "God loves you as he loved Jacob", building with Alvar Hanso, Think about- with tribal masks, fireworks at night, Gerald Degroot?… {And a few very interesting and important flashes!} Sawyer carries Karl out.

 Danny slaps awake knocked out Aldo. Juliet informs Danny they are "letting them go."
Danny's shocked, "Ben's in surgery. I was just there!" {He was? Hmmm}
Juliet says that Ben woke up.
Danny-"Woke up? Huh?"
Juliet explains that Shephard won't finish the surgery unless he knows his friends are off the island.
Danny- "I know Ben would rather die than let them go!"

Dr. Burke is at Rachel's apartment. She shares with her sister the job "isn't for me."  She also feels it's to far away; it's in Portland.  Rachel wants to know if she said no because of her.
Dr. Burke wonders, "Why would I want to go all the way to Portland for research that doesn't even work?"
Rachel- "Because it does work.
Rachel is pregnant; she took a blood test too. {Note on her table is 'Glass Patterns quarterly' Widmore pregnancy test.}
It worked!
All Rachel's life she's wanted to have a baby and now because of her sister she is.
Rachel-"Now I just need to get healthy so I can see the little bugger get into an Ivy League school."
Rachel tells her to tell her ex husband of hers what he can do with his ethics.

Edmund is walking outside and talking on his cell with his mother; "Because you're insufferable. And you're mean. Well, you asked me for the truth, Mom."
 Dr. Juliet Burke tells him that Rachel's pregnant.  Edmund needs to see her labs to verify the data.  Juliet's not interested in publishing because it's her sister.   Edmund  steps off the curb and gets hit by a bus {with an Apollo Bar ad on the side}right there in front of Dr. Juliet Burke.
{And a whole bunch of school kids with backpacks on! WTF is that about?!}

Jack is working on Ben. Tom doesn't like blood.
Jack taunts him with a lovely piece of tumor {I guess}.  Jack asks if they really can get on and off the island why didn't they just take him to a facility.
Tom tries to explains that since the sky turned purple…Oops! Jack has nicked an artery.
Tom-"Isn't that what you already did?"
Jack says yeah, "That was on purpose." {HA!}
Tom wants to know if he can fix it.

At the {outrigger} boat, Sawyer, Alex, Kate and Karl are about to get away.
Sawyer asks Alex, "So, you're the bosses daughter, huh? I never saw that coming."
As they/Sawyer get loopy Karl into the boat Karl says, "Danny."
Sawyer-"No, Sawyer."
Karl was warning him that Danny is behind him.  Danny points the gun at Sawyer and Juliet shows up shoots Danny with three shots.

Jack needs Tom's help with Ben's bleeding situation.

Juliet tells Kate, Sawyer and Karl they can leave but Alex cannot leave.
Juliet tells the girl, "We both know your father. And the only way he'll let Karl live is if you're here when he wakes up."
Alex and Karl share a moment; they've missed each other. {How long have they been kept apart?}

Jack is working on Ben with Tom's help. {They are helping each other. Ben's monitor shows 239.}
Kate's voice comes over the walkie. Jack wants Tom to hold the walkie up for him.
Tom asks, "What about the suction?"
Jack- "Just do it!"
Kate tells them they have a boat and their letting them go. Kate calls Juliet 'The blond woman' {no name}.
Kate goes on to retell the story Jack shared with her the day of the "crash".
"You were doing surgery on a girl and you messed up. You made a mistake. You tore something on her back and all the nerves came loose.  And you said you were so afraid. And you said the fear was so real. And you didn't know what to do, so you counted to five. And then you weren't afraid anymore. And then it was just gone. And you fixed her. You saved her."{Go back and listen to Kate tell the story.}
Jack tells Kate to promise never to come back for him.
 Kate-"Jack, where are you?"
Jack just tells Tom to turn of the walkie.  {Kate never makes the promise.}
Ben is fixed.   Kate gets away.  {Jack "saves" Kate…Maybe.}

Sawyer mentions "The trades are coming" so they shove the boat off and sail away.
ALEX'S EYES BLUE!

In the morgue we see dead Edmund covered in a white sheet, not in a black body bag. Juliet is there because she needs to sign some paperwork. She puts her head in her hands and cries.

Back in the O.R. we see sleeping Ben. Jack watches over him from the observatory. Juliet shows up. Jack informs her he was able to remove the tumor and they have to biopsy it. Jack wants to know what happens now, "I just go back to my cell?"
Juliet-"Until they figure out what to do with you."
Jack feels he is owed an answer; he wants know what she and Ben spoke about in the O.R., what did Ben say to make her want to save his life. {She wanted to want to save his life!}

Richard and Ethan show up in the morgue as Juliet is crying. {That's convenient.} There are a lot of bagged bodies in there.
Richard saw what happened on the news so he's there to express condolences and offer her the job before he goes back up to Portland. Juliet realizes that in her interview she said she wanted him to get hit by a bus, and he was.
Richard realizes she's shook up, but this is just a tragic accident, "I don't even remember you saying that."
The timing is horrible but they really want her to go to work with them, "Just give us six months. If you need to, you can be back before your sister gives birth…. We are very thorough in our recruitment process." {Of course they are!}
Juliet wants her sister to come.
Richard tells her that won't work, "We're pretty remote. She wouldn't have access to the treatment that she needs."
Richard admits at that point they're actually not quite in Portland.

In the observation room Juliet tells Jack, "I've been on this island for three years, Jack. 3 years, 2 months and 28 days. He said that if I let him live and I helped you, that he would finally let me go home."
She cries and leaves. {But we all know Ben's version of what home is, isn't what we think it is.}

NOT IN PORTLAND IS A GREAT EPISODE! FRIGGIN' AMAZING EPISODE!
It's time for me to bring two very important things out to you…
As I have researched all my clue words and notes throughout these many blogs, I have talked about the Lostie's being in sleep states/altered consciousness, Flashes not being in linear in time or "off",  game, and maybe a couple of Flashes could be a look at life 'after/off' this "Island" and blurring of things.   I've also made mention that there is a possibility some things aren't real.
With that said, this episode added a whole other dimension for me.
When the MRI image came up in this episode I thought back to 'The Hunting Party'; Jack's MRI episode. Although there are many aspects of that episode that show me it could be 'life after/off this Island' for Jack, i.e. the beginning of Jack's marriage falling apart after a long absence, etc… Couldn't it be possible that all Flashes we see are really taking place on the "Island".

That brings me to room 23.
Could that be the very room these contrived memories/images are given to the Castaways/Tailies/Others/whoever.  What if there are five other rooms that do just that. 4 8 15 16 (23) 42.  That would make those numbers bad.  If this is the case, how many people have been in those rooms? How often?

We see Sawyer in room 23 and he is mesmerized-hypnotized!  Are we seeing that he/they have been in that/those rooms?!!  Have we finally seen proof of drugged induced brain washing.?  This would make the idea of manipulated memory and/or imagery on the "Island" fact.
Here it was an IV that drugged Karl with funky glasses.  Other ways to induce this state could be, hypnosis, mediation, mind control, drugs, drugs in food or water, injections or even an implant.  Are images from room 23, or any other rooms/reasons related to any of the Castaway's Flashes?!
AND…EYE COLOR CHANGES! EYE COLOR CHANGES ARE ALL OVER THIS EPISODE!  If you are a veteran reader of my notes you know I've been talking about EYE COLOR differences since season 1!  Changes from one color to another, also the intensity of the blue eye color. Could it mean eye color changes when they are in state of some sort of hypnosis or altered state of consciousness?   Or are we seeing a 'twin'? Or different…. What??

Things to note...Questions to ask...
* Juliet can't stitch up Ben. She's not a surgeon.
* Every-thing's on the beach!

* Jack and Juliet have performed medical "miracles" of sorts.
* Juliet feels she's not a leader. Jack feels he's not a leader.
* Everyone is making deals.  Trades.
* Recruitment.
* Events in Flashes are reflected/blurred on the "Island".
* 2 sets of Losties???  More than one set of Others???  Imagery. Or...
* Trying to impregnate a woman who's actively going through cancer treatments…WHAT?! Is this reality? NO!
* Clues to "creating life" where there shouldn't be/isn't.
* Clues to bugs. What kind? Insects or electronic? A bug in the system?
* DIANE
* Juliet is called Juliet, Jules and Julie in this episode.
* We're on a smaller island two miles off shore….
* "We are the cause to our own suffering"…
* Black and White Bagua lamp.
* "He'll never let a patient just die."… Jack did let Boone go.
* Sawyer asks about a tunnel to the mainland.
* Ethan being in the same place as Juliet.
* Edmund getting hit by a bus. Was that the product of a wish?
* "Make it look like an accident."   Jack cutting Ben or Edmund getting hit by a bus?
* I wonder how many other things are made to look like an accident? Hmmm?!
* Alex hides Sawyer and Kate out in a pit. Ana Lucia kept prisoners in a pit.
* 3 Minutes. The episode '3 minutes' was the episode we went back and forth between different days. This was when Michael was out looking for Waaaaalaaaalt. That episode ends when Sun sees Desmond's boat out in the water. 3 minutes is also associated with Chess.
* Juliet and Ben have history. How long is Juliet really on the island? How old is Juliet? I'm just curious!
* Lab-Research lab-Labrador retriever. Is this "Island" a "lab"?
* Are the Others/Islanders keeping a long line of secrets for the Island, just like the Knights Templar and the Freemasons do? {Knights Templar or the Order of the Temple French- Ordre du Temple or Templiers.}

Vocabulary AND Research...
* DNA-
a nucleic acid that contains the genetic instructions used in the development and functioning of all known living organisms. The main role of DNA molecules is the long-term storage of information. DNA is often compared to a set of blueprints, since it contains the instructions needed to construct other components of cells.

Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right! The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don’t claim to catch every single detail either! You all know I hate spoilers! And I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don’t need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Understood? Good! Let the fun begin! I’ll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance! It will get very exciting as we progress into the story.
