"The New Man in Charge"
Let's talk about LOST! The New Man in Charge.
Here are my notes about the long awaited 12 minute epilogue; which I will write up in the vein of the Missing Pieces Mobisodes. Remember to click the pics because they're posted here for a reason.
Epilogue "The New Man in Charge"
Orote Peninsula, Guam: Dharma Logistics Warehouse
THE PRESENT {uh, as in "gift"}
Two Dharma men {Provisions} are working in the warehouse. We get a shot of the printing press label maker with its "backwards/mirror image" plate.
Glen- "How soon do you get those peas labeled?"
Hector-"I don't know. Couple hours." {He hand cranks and hand cuts the labels.}
Glen- "Hurry it up, man. I already got the rest of the palette loaded."
Hector- "I don't know why you're always in such a hurry, man." {The fucking White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland!}
Glen- "That's why. We're gonna miss our launch window. I don't wanna be up half a night loading damn boxes."

Ben- "Excuse me." {Ben wears an Island shirt under his blazer.}
Glen- "Who the hell are you? How'd you get in here?"
Ben- "My name is Benjamin Linus. I'm from the Home Office."
Hector- "Nobody from the Home Office has ever come out here."
Ben- "There's a new man in charge, he sent me."
Glen- "Sent you to do what?"
Ben- "Tie up a few loose ends. Your services are no longer required, gentlemen. Closing this place down. So, you're free to go."
Hector- "But we've been loading the palettes under the drones for like...20 years now."
Glen- "What are we supposed to do?"
Ben- "This is your severance pay. I'd say you can do pretty much anything you want." {Ben hands them envelopes of American cash in hundreds}
Glen- "So, work with the Dharma Initiative?"
Ben- "The Dharma Initiative hasn't existed in almost 20 years."
Hector- "That's not true. We still get a teletype before every drop."
Ben- "It's automated. Comes from the Lamppost station in L.A.. There hasn't been a person posted there since you two started. That's why the man in charge has me going around closing up shop."
Glen- "Lamppost station?"
Ben- "I've already said more than I should've. Before you leave, please lock the doors, turn out the lights."
Hector- "Wait. You can't just walk out of here. We deserve answers!"
Ben- "All right. Before I go I'll let you each ask a question. But just one. So, make it count."
Glen - "Where have we been sending these palettes? Where are they dropped?"
Ben- "An Island."
Glen- "How's that possible? The coordinates are different every time."
Ben- "The Island moves."
Glen- "How does the Island..."
Ben- "Uh-uh! One question. Your turn." {Technically Glen got to ask three.}
Hector- "We're on Guam. So this Island is somewhere in the tropics, right? So explain this. Polar bear biscuits. How is there a polar bear on a tropical island?"
Ben- "Polar bears, actually. Plural. You guys have a DVD player?"
Ben- "So we watch it together and then we all leave. Is that a deal?"
Hector- "Deal."
Glen- "Deal."
Ben- "Sorry about the quality. It's a transfer from an old Betamax." {Ben pockets a Dharma granola bar and eats a Dharma granola bar}
The film/dvd begins...{Be warned! This video is riddled with skips, warps, glitches, and missing bits.}

Dr. Pierre Chang {Wearing a Swan station logo medical/lab white jacket}-
"Hello, I am Dr. Pierre Chang. And this is the orientation video for station one of the Dharma Initiative, the Hydra. For purposes of security, please do not divulge my name to any outside parties. I wouldn't want to have to resort to using an alias in the future. The chief purpose of this station is to conduct biological and behavioral research on various animal, bird and marine subjects. {6 caged rabbits} Here are some of the duties you may be asked to perform... {A crazy voice says "Hurley. Hurley"} ...Genetic alteration. These fascinating hybrids, or "hy-birds" as we call them, will be released and monitored to see how they adapt to the unique properties of the island... successful advanced studies in larger mammals. Ursus maritimus, or polar bears, possess a keen sense of memory and adaptability. These traits make them ideal candidates for electromagnetic studies that will be conducted at a secondary site where their comfort in cold temp... It's important when dealing with the bears that you do not show affection or become attached in any way. Also, do not underestimate their intelligence and cunning. These rules must always be followed. I repeat, the bears are not your friends. Rewarding the bear with a fish biscuit, once it has successfully performed a complex puzzle. After the training is completed, you will tranquilize the bear. Affix this tracking device around the subject's neck. At which point it will be transported to the Orchid station for the next phase of research. Remember, be sure to confirm that the female bears have not been impregnated before transport, as the electromagnetic levels at the Orchid have an extremely harmful effect on early term gestation. As you've already learned, we do animal research here at Hydra. Unfortunately, one must consider the most dangerous animal of all... humans. And so, there is another more secluded test site, where we are conducting significantly more sensitive work. The island's indigenous population, some of you may have heard them referred to as "Hostiles", are acquired on the main island, sedated and brought here, to Room 23. {A "dummy/mannequin" is shown strapped in, in place of a person.} Because the subjects are unwilling participants, security personnel should always be present during these sessions. Under no circumstances are you to engage subjects in conversation. The purpose of these interrogations is to better understand the Hostiles' way of life, their origins, and particularly their worship of an island deity they refer to as "Jacob". After the research team has concluded their tests, inject this into the back of the subject's neck. Then place these goggles over his or her eyes. Hitting this switch will commence the visualization while the drugs take effect. {The lights turn off, loud techno music plays while the video shows images and quotes} The dream-like quality of the film combined with the cutting edge pharmaceuticals will create an amnesia of sorts. Any memory of his or her interrogation will be effectively wiped clean. While these interrogative measures may seem extreme, rest assured, they are vital...to temporary truce with the Hostiles is not violated. This concludes your orientation of the Hydra station. Good luck and remember do not discuss the nature of these experiments with other members of the Initiative.
Enjoy your time here on Hydra Island. Namaste and good l..."
The two men are stunned.
Hector- "I think we're gonna need to see that again."
Ben-"Sorry, we're out of time." {Ben collects his DVD}
Hector- "What did they do to those bears? And what the hell's a 'Hostile?"
Ben-"Goodbye, gentlemen. I have another call to make. Namaste." {There is an obvious buzzing of a fly/bug}
SANTA ROSA MENTAL HEALTH INSTITUTE
Ben is wearing the same clothes as he wore to the warehouse in "Guam".
Ben- "Hello, I'm here to see Keith Johnson."
Nurse Susie Lazenby- "Are you on his visitor's list?"
Ben- "No. But I'm sure if you give him this note, he'll want to see me."
Walt, a kid in a grownup mental institute, plays Connect Four solo in the game/rec room.
{The same familiar artwork and colorful cutouts decorate the room}
Ben- "Hello, Walt." {He doesn't call him Keith}
Walt-" What are you doing here?"
Ben- "Like my note said, a friend of yours sent me."
Walt- "I don't have any friends."
Ben- "We all have friends. Even me."
Walt- "You here to kidnap me again?"
Ben- "I'm genuinely sorry about that. But what's done is done. I can't change the past. I can only take responsibility for it. Walt, I understand what you've had to go through. I know the difficulties you've had pretending to be someone you're not. {Walt takes off the legs of the Connect Four grid} Walt, I'm here to help you."
Walt- "Why?"
Ben- "Because you're special. And I bet nobody's told you that in a very long time."
Walt- "What good does that do me?"
Ben- "We need you. You have work to do. Starting with helping your father."
Walt- "My father's dead."
Ben- "Doesn't mean you can't help him. Will you go with us, Walt?" {Ben places a wrapped DI granola bar on top of the red game pieces. Walt picks it up.}
Outside the building at night, Ben is encouraging cautious and unsure Walt as they walk through the picnic area and get into a blue Dharma van.
Ben-"Come on, it's OK. You ride shotgun."
Hurley-"Dude."
Walt- "Hurley."
Hurley- "It's great to see you, Walt." {Jacob music plays}
Walt- "I kept hoping one day somebody would come back for me. They said I was crazy."
Hurley-"You're not crazy, dude. Not even close. You just need to get back to the island, that's all. It's where you belong. It's where you've always belonged."
Walt- "Why?"
Hurley- "I wanna talk to you about a job. All right, Ben, let's get out of here. It's time for us all to go home."
Ben starts the van and they drive away.
Things to Note...Questions to ask...
* Everything blurs together! "This Place"-the "Island"-Guam-Santa Rosa-On "Island and off "Island", etc.
* Ben and Hurley travel to and from the "Island". If you have to be sedated to "transport" to the "Island" then who sedates and wakes the other?!! lol
* The {"Hy"- "high"} bird is in a covered darkened cage...SLEEPING! Drugs! Altered State of Consciousness!
* Confined. Alone. Solitary. Shutoff. Shutdown
* The Hydra Station is number 1; the Orchid Station is next step of the research.
* Computers, Programs, Drones, Machines. {"acting" on behalf of a human.}
* Drugs-High (hy), Hallucinogens, Sedatives, Tranquilize, Injections, Hypnosis, Brainwashing.
* Mind games, manipulation.
* GAME. Rules.
* Dream. Dreamlike
* Mental health. Feeling alone. Lost. Santa Rosa.
* Tabula Rasa
* The Lamppost station is automated; hasn't had a person there in 20 years and The Hydra video shows a dummy/mannequin in place of a human
* What is real and what is not real?
* The "date" on the printout is not a real date.
* The "Island" is a place of learning. An Institute is also known as a place of learning.
* Faraday's rat maze
* Tests. Experiments.
* Challenges
* Walt's name is Keith Johnson.
* Walt is presented with a "job".
* Walt is not 20 years old and we just learned the DI hasn't existed in almost 20 years.
* What does "dead" really mean?
* Walt is wearing a zip up hoodie like Michael and Hugo wore in Everybody Loves Hugo
* You need to consume a Dharma food product to be "transported" to the "Island". The use of sedative and/or hallucinogen is what brings you to the "Island"

* The handle on the door to Room 23 is like one that is on a refrigerated room or meat locker.
* Candle, Halliwax, Wickmund all represent "light".
* The Lamppost's "church" ends up being the place where Jack, Christian and friends are embraced by the warm bright "light". The "light" lives in all of our hearts and the heart of the "Island". Ah, lovely metaphors at work.
* The Dharma Initiative info from the film/dvd brings us back to the information we learned in the first ARG "The LOST Experience".
- I also want to provide you with The Psychology test video from The LOST Experience from back in June of 2006.

What the "hex" going on?! Well, people, things and places are not what you think...Ha, imagine that.
First...For those of you who feel disappointed that we didn't get a look at life on the "Island" under its new management...We did!! Because it's all "the Island".
They are NEVER out of the confines of the "ISLAND" or whatever the "Island" really is. We've all been down the rabbit hole which just happens to be over the rainbow in OZ.
It is obvious (and not all in my head) events and places we've seen in the six years happened within the "confines" of the "Island" adventure. It was shown all over this 12 minute epilogue.
This also connects my Wizard of Oz-Alice in Wonderland idea...what we saw happened in a sleep state and/or altered state of consciousness where things are blurred together.
This Zen Buddhism based journey involves altered states of consciousness and levels of consciousness (sleep state), and states of existence/being along the path. The "Island's" role in this may also be aided with the addition of mediation, sedation, drugs, hypnosis, and/or even a computerized merged reality experience...the matrix.
If everything is really occurring and blurred within the confines of a specific space, one with distinct boundaries, then we still need to wonder...where this place is. Is it all completely in the mind, consciousness/subconscious {with the use of drugs and or meditation aided by machine/computer}
or is it literally on an island or in a building or a prison, or are they on a ship in confined pods? Is it possible that this adventure can happen all while you're in the comforts of your own home?
Let's look at the first part of what we're shown:
The "cutting edge" out of existence Dharma Initiative has only two clueless dudes in "Guam", hand cranking labels and packing pallets on autopilot (Automated) for 20 years! They don't even know about the Lamppost station. Really?! These people are literally "trapped in a fucking box"!
Not only are we being shown the DI surviving under an auto-piloted front, but we're also seeing more people who are metaphorically "stuck" and oblivious that there is a whole entire world out there that they could and should be living in. These two men are living in a redundant cycle with no comprehension of how to do it any other way.
Interestingly Ben, who just turned Glen and Hector's lives upside down, limits the men's questions and is obviously restricting them from learning more even though they are curious. Ben's entire demeanor is very mysterious and cunning and kind of suspicious.
Walt, a child who is residing at a mental institution for adults {I've only ever seen adults there}, is called upon by Ben via Hurley. Hurley, Jacob-like, wants to talk to Walt about a "job" but also refers to Walt belonging on the island and also feeling positively that it's time to get out of there and that it's time for all of them to go home. Is it just Walt's turn to watch the "Island" or is he "indigenous/hostiles" to the "Island" {Ahem, as Candle mentions "there are"} and is he just being returned? And I must ask what Walt's "special" role on the "Island is; although now we see he must become the new man in charge. Is his role to take the place of the Jacob or MIB identity? {John was "special" and connected with Smokey.} Hurley states it's time for "all" of them to go home, so if the "Island" and the outside world are not really of the same space is Hurley gathering up all the natives to return them to the "Island" as well, or are they just all ready to go home? Where is home? It must be somewhere over the rainbow.
Are we still the victims of a Long Con? Well, there continues to be a game element and the story still reeks of "Smoke and Mirrors", magic, illusion and lots of razzle freakin' dazzle.
The still seemingly vague and inconclusive {glitchy} information we received from the Hydra orientation film connects many things we learned in the first ARG, The LOST Experience. Do I disregard any of that valuable time consuming researched shit load of information I learned with playing that game? Nope. Because we know and accept this story is multi layered. Nevertheless, I found this Hydra Orientation film to be filled with a plethora of insight and answers.
We have been fed hints to breeding and "using" the natives of the "Island" all of these years along with the path to enlightenment part of the story. Keep in mind the story is a wonderfully huge metaphor being narrated via all the puzzling problems and imagery we see on and with the "Island". So the information Candle gives us can be perceived as him talking about Jack, John and the rest of the people on the "Island" and not "bears" and "birds".
But who knows, maybe Walt is a hybrid {or really a "hy" bird, as in they're all "high", again as Candle outright states}, maybe they all are. Or they're all Hostiles, native to the "Island" and they're the ones being broken down and reprogrammed.
Marvin Candle's drivel about the viewer not telling anyone his name lest he be reduced to needing an alias is total nonsense, but his statement, "The Hostiles are acquired on the main island, sedated and brought here" is not.
Think about it...Are we really talking about "hostiles", as in natives to an actual island or are we really talking metaphorically about angry and lost people? Have we witnessed the literal kidnapping of natives to an island and their being used as test subjects by the Dharma Initiative or about is it about a lost person who can't bear his burden any longer and is in need of a life changing journey to put him in the right light so he can live the life he is meant to live. That may be a form of therapy or rehabilitation. It very well may be that it is a combination of some of these clues.
We can watch the orientation footage literally, accepting the information Candle is telling the viewer as facts regarding the D.I. and their "programs". And you can watch it understanding the subliminal and metaphoric connections to Jack, John, Hurley and the rest of the Castaways while ignoring the bits about the DI and their programs. Of course you can also watch it while mastering how all of those factors fit and work together.
The visual of the white rabbits in the orientation video again for me, correlates to a trip down the rabbit hole and not to some gobbledygook Marvin Candle's video is trying to distract us with.
Hurley, the new man in charge, seems to be literally moving stuck people forward; liberating them.
Bah! Maybe he's just pushing the clueless people out.
"This Place"...the "Island" is a place of learning. It doesn't matter if you think it's run by a bunch of crackpot scientists, doctors, inventors, the military, actors, gamers or it's a real island that you can go on a journey to find yourself, you're purpose there is not only to be challenged and tested, but you will learn, heal and be free and reborn. It is part of the journey to enlightenment.
I do want to reflect on a moment we spent with Hurley and his adventure on the "Island" with his being confused on whether "Island" events are real or part of his subconscious. We're given so much important information from his friend, Dave. Dave hints to things being faked. But more importantly is the dialogue Dave has about the "need to wake up" Hugo.
Dave tries to get Hurley to fall back off the cliff, not so he can kill himself but so it will "wake" him up. Hugo perceives the going over the cliff as an act of physical death but what it really represents is a metaphoric "death", an ending and a means to bring you back to life. It is very Zen.
So with this "Big Finale" it's time for us all to go home. After all, Home is where your Heart is.
It is also where you end up after you run all the bases on the field, or you work your way all the way around the game board indicating the completion of the game...back to home.
Now, if you're ready and only if and when you're really ready...
Come on, do it, I know you want to...Close your eyes, tap your heels together three times and think to yourself...There's no place like...Home.
...And now you can wake up.
At least until your next adventure, that is.
Love to all who are "LOST"™

If everything is really occurring and blurred within the confines of a specific space, one with distinct boundaries, then we still need to wonder...where this place is. Is it all completely in the mind, consciousness/subconscious {with the use of drugs and or meditation aided by machine/computer}
or is it literally on an island or in a building or a prison, or are they on a ship in confined pods?

Tranquility Island
Hi Losties!
In honor of it being a very HAPPY LOST DAY because the DVD'S will be in our hands today and we'll start classes again at LOST University, I put together a fun little LOST video.
I have not created a Silly LOST Picture in a while and thought "Why not try a Silly LOST Video?!"
Although it is pretty obvious that I don't know how to edit video and never made one before, I still had fun giving it a try. The one thing I wish was that I had HD quality footage so a few of those clips were clearer.
Anyway...it's all in LOSTASTIC fun! You can see where my mindset is while trying to deal with life without LOST.
I dedicate this video to all of us LOST fans who feel lost without LOST.

Another Sneak Peek!
Hi Losties!
Here is another sneak peek from the upcoming Season 5 DVD release that will be in our little LOST hands on December 8th!
In this special clip Darlton, Jorge Garcia and Jeremy Davies talk about the concept of changing time.
Enjoy The H Bomb (Making up for LOST Time).
In the meantime I'll still be investigating the conundrum, can they really "go back" and change the past, hence changing their present and future or is it all just ass backwards to begin with. Either way I CAN'T WAIT until we find out! WooooHoooo!

Station 6-Orchid
PLEASE KEEP IN MIND the following notes were posted over at MySpace July 29, 2007. I'm just moving all my older notes over here to keep all the notes together.
Hi Losties!
A little side-bar from the episode notes is needed here!
Well, well, well....We all are trying to figure out this new clue to our puzzle!
Station 6- ORCHID!
Many of you wanted my thoughts on what I think is going on here. Again, do I need to say the following are just my thoughts...
We have NO information to go on, so how do we start an investigation?
Well, with the word ORCHID.
The word ORCHID is GREEK in origin. (There's a Greek clue again.) it means testicle. Yep, that's what it means.
As I looked into the Orchid I found it a very interesting flower. Interesting REPRODUCTIVE aspects. Also most orchids are HYBRIDS.
The word HYBRID means: Offspring of genetically differing parents.
Now, with only those few clues {if they are really clues at all} and knowing that the film says it's not about plants/flowers, etc...Could it be it's about "creating" a "hybrid person"?
How about other things concerning "reproduction" like "twins".
But like I said, we have NOTHING to go on yet, so to say I'm on the right track would be very premature. I don't even know if I've pulled the right clues out of my starting point.
We all know...Let's say it all together..."I COULD BE VERY WRONG!" LOL!
It may also have something to do {I believe a hint} with "Time Travel" and "Teleportation",...or maybe duplication and regenerating the dead for all we know! Mwahaha!!
Another wonderful piece of our puzzle and I can't wait to figure out what it really means.

I've included the clip from that Comic Con which contains "language" some may be offended by. {I don't know who the originator of this clip is, and I'd like to give proper credit...So, thank you mystery video person!}
Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right! The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either! You all know I hate spoilers! And I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode; we all know what they are. Understood? Let the fun begin! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance.

"Ars gratia artis"

ARG or not to ARG…that is the question. Of course we have to ask this question, after all, a few months ago Damon and Carlton were noted saying there would not be an ARG this hiatus. Yet here we are playing… something.
We’ve received a few separate bits of material from the powers that be.
Here's what we have so far:
1). LOST UNIVERSITY.
2). Mysteries of the Universe: The Dharma Initiative
3). A couple of video commercials and a segment from America's Most Wanted. {Shown at Comic Con.}
4). DamonCarltonandaPolarbear.com
Are they separate entities or do all roads lead to “The Island”?

LOST UNIVERSITY.:
Get Schooled at LOST UNIVERSITY. That’s right LOST fans! As students of LOST University we will dig deeper into the mysteries of LOST and life. Enrollment for the first semester of LOST University will be open to all students beginning September 22nd, 2009. At that time we will take a placement exam and be given a Student ID, and watch our LOST University introductory class, LOST 101.
Semester 1 begins on December 8, 2009. We will be able to choose and enroll in classes and build credits toward Semester 2.
Those who do well will graduate.
Check out the online course catalog offering a variety of courses, taught by notable professors.

Be sure to check out News at The Lamp Post for information such as:
* Campus Job Fair Update- A career in aviation is an exciting adventure just waiting to happen! Visit booth #16 at the LOST University Job Fair, co-sponsored by Oceanic and Ajira Airlines, today and find out how your work can take flight!
* The LOST University Department Of Theatre announces auditions for their fall production of The Tempest. Please see the audition notice on the bulletin board outside the Emerson Auditorium box office for more details.
* Anti-Radiation pills will be given to all students free of cost, but only through next Thursday. You can pick up your pills at the Shephard Clinic between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
A person of note with LU at this point is Adam Nussdorf.
His number was written on the back of a flyer for LOST University that was handed out at comic-con along with a note that said that he could possibly need a TA. When I called the number got a prerecorded message mentioning his sabbatical. "Professor Adam Nussdorf at Lost University. Professor Nussdorf is on sabbatical so will return to his office on September 22nd. This machine currently does not accept voicemail."
The university's news page posted that he was recently promoted to the head of the Department of Media Studies and Online Education. The position was created to make sure all the classes are designed to educate and enhance viewer appreciation of LOST in preparation of season 6.
MY NOTES On Adam Nussdorf: According to his IMDb page he is associated with LOST. And interestingly enough the two titles in particular correlate to his current circumstances. This is what it shows:
Miscellaneous Crew:
“LOST” (production staff) (2 episodes, 2009)
Because You Left (2009) TV episode (production staff)
The Lie (2009) TV episode (production staff) (uncredited)

As far as higher learning goes, I wonder how many will make the Dean’s List. And Yes, I already purchased my LU tee-shirt and sweatshirt.

Mysteries of the Universe. The Dharma Initiative:
This is an abc show from "back in the day". The video segments seem dated i.e. the 1980’s, but are they?
Here are the dates that were listed in a KIA ad in my Entertainment Weekly as the dates for the new clips to be released: {Note the dates reflect The Numbers}
7/23/09
8/4/09
9/8/09
10/15/09
11/16/09
Why is an "old episode" of this abc show being resurrected for us? The clips blend footage of the Dharma Initiative with images of "persons" who have appeared on LOST episodes. To date, an important fact that is being delivered is about "Brainwashing".
You can follow the clips here on my site or at abc.com
Television Ads:
Comic Con 2009 gave us a look at a different perspective on things.
Mr Clucks- Hugo Reyes Owner and CEO of Mr. Clucks {Is that Dave leaning on the counter?!} He claims ever since he won the lottery he's had good luck. He had a dream while camping out under the stars on an Outback vacation; a dream of chicken. Thus the invention of Outback Roasters. Cost $4.42. It's chicken heaven.
The dad and son at the counter look similar to, or represent a Michael and Walt image. But this bald dude looks like Dave. What say you?
Oceanic Airlines- In the air since 1979, thirty years with a perfect safety record.
"Our Skies Lead To Your Destiny"
America's Most Wanted- Kate is featured on America's Most Wanted. This clip has a completely different version of Kate's life of crime.
DamonCarltonandaPolarbear.com:

At Comic Con 2009, Paul Scheer presents Damon and Carlton with a tacky velvet painting of the two creators and a polar bear. Paul has been working on this thing for the past six months.
Paul hawks his art work and tells the crowd of Lost fans to head over to http://damoncarltonandapolarbear.com and view his handiwork.
Then through Paul’s shenanigans we are given "Hints".
Here's a quick run through of things:
* We can get a DamonCarlton and a Polar bear wallpaper for our computers.
* In the comments of Paul’s site/post Get to Know Your Lost Cast Members: Vincent the Dog, is a message from a user called Asst. “Mr. Scheer, We have left you three phone messages and you have ignored three emails from our office, please contact us immediately."
* VIP DocArzt is contacted and receives a letter from Paul.
* A comment from Alexandra Miller to Paul - “Again, we request that you contact us immediately and halt posting anything new on this blog. Alexandra Miller Ronie Midfew Arts"
* Paul gets some news and inside info from an intern at ABC. {His art is in the trash!}
* A very excited Paul Scheer visits the ABC lot looking for Damon, Carlton and his “painting”.
* Some numbers are posted on Paul’s site.
* The video of Paul and Scott on the ABC lot. There are hints and clues in it; Map, Mr. Clucks, Mr. Friendly, a broken rose, set design for the temple, a pile of shredded paper, and Damon walking by Paul at the dumpster talking to someone on the phone "Kill em. I don't care what his motivation is, make him dead". The shredded paper has been put back together by Paul to supposedly reveal the title of the season six opening episode.
LA X {Does that mean 10, as in 2010 or marks the spot?}
* Paul receives a call from Alexandra Miller. The gets a call from Ronie Midfew and answers/responds to him with Lost quotes/ sound bites.
* There was supposed to be a Facebook page for Alexandra Miller but it ends up comments were left on the wrong Facebook page.
* Paul “misquotes” the Ronie Midfew website - "The 15th is LOST and the 16th will be FOUND" and asks us for suggestions as to what this might mean
.
Paul tells us "Saturday" we will be able to see "dozens" of paintings and some might even be glow in the dark.
* Gets a visit by a man in black- E.Sau.
* Paul will meet Ronie Midfew on 8/14/2009 at 4:08pm

* Paul and Ronie strike a deal. {Hold on the velvet paintings} Something will still happen at midnight on the 15th. He has also met with....{Darlton}
* The Ronie Midfew Arts website gets updated and announces the “Deal” made with Paul.
* Ronie Midfew Arts and DamonCarltonandaPolarBear.com presents - The website is “transformed” and picture frames are displayed. What is this evolving in to?
* The "Hub" page shows a poster for a club event at Bardot nightclub in LA. A few mistakes with the poster like the wrong address for the club, there are three E's in Thee Mike B, and there are spaces within some of the words.
THE POSTER: Address in Hollywood. Bardot-1715 N. Vine St. Hollywood. Judy Garland’s star on the walk of fame is located on 1715 Vine Street. The real address for Bardot is 1735 N. Vine St. And FYI- 1737 N. Vine St is the Spider Club.
* On 8/16- At the club party Sterling Beaumon (Blood on hoodie?) reads notes and gives out a web address.

Here are some important bits that came from the very first "frames" and the 4:38 video that was posted 8/20 on the Hub to kick things off:
* The poster of the Bardot event. Banana Splits. DJ AM.
* Red glow on a group of people on the dance floor with the EXIT sign obvious in the shot.
* Partiality open Swan hatch in the middle of the floor, people dance around it.
* Framed painting of a ship near stairway. {Black Rock perhaps.}
* Shot of DJ AM in the Dj booth.
* Dude with NY Yankees cap on, dancing.
* FLASHING LIGHTS.
* Pumping Techno-Trance music.

I found it very interesting that underage hooded "Ben Linus" {Not Sterling Beaumon} shows up at the club event wearing a {bloody} hoodie.
He delivers a message on behalf of the Dharma Initiative. They sent him there to make sure everybody is having a great time. They're there to celebrate the partnership of
Ronie Midfew Arts and DamonCarltonandaPolarbear.com, as well as the launch of the Lost Underground Fan Art Project. The next six months this program is not going to be about math, science and puzzles, or even an alternate universe.
This is all about fan appreciation.
Additional Bits:
* We happen to find Rousseau’s Map is translated.
* A Tidbit about the Bearded Men of LOST.
* Info makes its way around the web about Seth Norris Lives.
* The Auction of LOST items.
* A sign on the shop door - Build Your World, this is the organization that Sayid was building structures/homes.
Framed Artwork: {To Date.}
Frame 1- Tim Doyle for "The Numbers" {The original addy given shows poster focusing on Hurley that is for sale. On 8/19 The poster page is updated to say - "This poster has glow-in-the-dark elements".}
Frame 2- Olly Moss for "Locke's Secret"
Frame 3- Methane Studios for the "Dharma Van".
Frame 4- Eric Tan for "The Crash"

Vocabulary and Research...
* A scavenger hunt is a game in which individuals or teams seek to gather a number of specific items—usually not by purchase—or perform tasks as given by a list. The goal is usually to complete the list first.
* X- Roman Numeral for 10 (decem). 10 comes up in our story ALL the time.
-X- Marks the spot.
* La Dimension X [Dimension X] (1953) and Nous les Martiens [We The Martians] (1954), Guieu introduced a new hero: Archeologist Jean Kariven. In the Kariven series, Guieu began to explore his favorite themes such as UFO's, close encounters, Erich Von Daniken-like theories of ancient astronauts, secret societies, lost civilizations and occult conspiracies.Throughout, he sprinkled his novels with footnotes claiming that the various facts upon which he was basing his tales were indeed “authentic”. In Nous les Martiens [We The Martians], Kariven discovers that, in the far distant past, men had emigrated to Earth from Mars. Eight more Kariven novels followed, often pitting good aliens from Polaris versus evil aliens from Deneb with Earth secretly caught in the middle. Univers Parallèles [Parallel Universes] featured a crossover with Jerry Barclay.
* A QR Code is a matrix Code (or two-dimensional bar code) created by Japanese corporation Denso-Wave in 1994. The "QR" is derived from "Quick Response", as the creator intended the code to allow its contents to be decoded at high speed. QR Codes are common in Japan, where they are currently the most popular type of two dimensional codes. Moreover, most current Japanese mobile phones can read this code with their camera.
* A Data Matrix code is a two-dimensional matrix barcode consisting of black and white "cells" or modules arranged in either a square or rectangle pattern. The information to be encoded can be text or raw data. Usual data size is from a few bytes up to 2 kilobytes. The length of the encoded data depends on the symbol dimension used. Error Correction Codes are added to increase symbol strength: even if they are partially damaged, they can still be read. A Data Matrix symbol can store up to 2,335 alphanumeric characters.
I will deal with this diversion until the season kicks in, I always do. We'll still compile all the data given to us from posters, websites, locations, TV shows, DVDs, social networks, magazines, books, ads, or any other medium the puppet masters lead us toward. I landed on many more websites than I’ve listed here {you know how over the top I go with research}. And those sites seemed very LOST-like in that they had references that "could be" taken for connections with comic books, video games, The Cobra, John Locke and other image and text references to the "island".
Now, are we supposed to end up on these other sites or is it just a coincidence?
Do we mistake coincidence for fate or vice versa?
This was just a short run down of info we gotten over the past few weeks. I would love it if you discover anything while on this hunt feel free to post it here in a comment for all the LOST fans to keep up with.
Paul went excitedly on a quest to find Darlton and his painting at the studio. He was so damn distracted by dressing up to sneak in and following maps, that he never even saw what was right in front of his eyes.
Through the DamonCarltonandaPolarbear site we learn we're participating in a scavenger hunt of sorts and we don’t even have to leave our homes to do it. Imagine that! Participating in a game with people all over the world via my computer and the Internet without even leaving my home.
At this point all I can say is we are all caught in a net...literally...the InterNET.
Love to all who are "LOST"™
Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right. The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either. You all know I hate spoilers, and I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Understood? Good. Let the fun begin! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance. It will get very exciting as we progress into the story.

Another installment of "The Mysteries of the Universe"

Hi Losties,
Here's another installment of "The Mysteries of the Universe" with more insight to The Dharma Initiative. What is the Dharma Initiative up to?
Apparently we need to keep a list with additional questions we want answered. What do you think?
ENJOY!!!!
Narrator: "We now return to 'Mysteries Of The Universe, The DHARMA Initiative'...
Outside of Las Vegas, Nevada, 1978. A University of Las Vegas college student purchases a jumpsuit for a costume party at a local thrift store. He attends the party dressed as a janitor. During the course of the evening he is photographed for the college newspaper. Three weeks later a mysterious knock sounds at the door of his fraternity house. Two men begin to ask a series of detailed questions to the student in regard to the origin of his costume. The men eventually leave after learning all they can, leaving the befuddled youth in a cloud of unanswered questions of his own. The only distinguishing feature of this garment is this logo, a curiously shaped octagon with the word 'DHARMA' in the middle. What was once an innocent Halloween costume is now the impetus for the much larger investigation at hand. What or who is The DHARMA Initiative?
Aliens. Flying saucers. Abductions.
Nevada has long been known for an area of considerable importance to other-worldly creatures. Some claim that the area is a veritable hotbed of extra-terrestrial activity known as Area 51. Could the proximity of this incident in relation to Area 51 be a link to an answer? It is suspected that workers at the infamous military base are known to wear color-coded jumpsuits, much like the one found in the thrift store, that designate their rank and occupation. Those that work there, or claim to work there, are said to vanish for long periods of time. If the government or someone claiming to be from the government is concerned about a missing article of clothing, then why are they not concerned about a person gone missing? In the following interview, we speak with someone who claims that his neighbor vanished after completing a job interview with a mysterious group that was looking to fill an open position."
The Man with Eyeglasses: "My neighbor Phil was looking for a job. He said he was on round five of an interview for this group out in Michigan. Five interviews is a lot of interviews, especially for a security guard position. Phil said they had him take all sort of weird head exams, ink blots ... just kind of random exams like that."
Female Interviewer: "So tell me when was the last time you saw Phil?"
The Man with Eyeglasses: "Huh, last time I saw Phil... uh, he said something about going back for the last interview, and then I never saw the guy again. Someone came, sold his house, took his car. Even took his dog. His girlfriend didn't even know. I called the police, they said they would investigate. It was a year ago, the guy's gone." {The film segment shows edits within it}
Narrator: "Cases like this are not unique. The United States is riddled with stories of people disappearing after participating in questionable job interviews. There are four common traits of the job postings. This graphic watermark {DHARMA logo}. The quantity of similar job openings. Strange tests. And the large number of interviews. And almost without fail, after accepting the position, the applicant disappears. A large number of interviews for occupations such as physicist and engineer are standard. But why would a job opening for a car mechanic require five interviews? Why does a janitor position involve psychological testing? Why do these people leave without explanation?
Portland, Oregon. Our investigation of similar disappearances led us to this woman: a grade school teacher named Olivia. Her family and friends said she applied for a teaching position, interviewed heavily for the job and then left without a trace. Her apartment was subleased for three years, with no explanation of her absence. Her parents were recently interviewed:
Father: "She just left one day. Disappeared. And I haven't heard from her since."
Female Interviewer: "Do you think she left for a job, or... ?"
Father: "Huh, a job?! She had a job. {Edit} I mean she's gone."
Narrator: "Note the graphic seal on the upper-right corner of this preliminary job application, supplied to us by Olivia's parents. It matches the one on the jumpsuit and job posting. Secret societies are known to use special identifying symbols to assist members in identification of official documents and property. Often used in these interviews is the Rorschach test. This test is used with the psychiatric community to assist in determining a person's mental state. It is also often used on the criminally insane.
Here is a list of questions we found for an interview.
Why should a veterinarian be profiled in the same manner as a psychotic killer?
Intense interviews. Psychological tests. Disappearances. Secrecy. If someone or some group is putting this much effort into interviews then exactly what type of organization is this? All the puzzle pieces are there, but the more we try to put them together the more pieces are added to the table. An ever expanding table, and the place setting is serving up... mystery."
We get a big clue to the criminally insane and the psychiatric community. Do some residents of the "Island" come from prisons, jails and mental facilities?
We also get a big hint to numerous "interviews".
I am also sure to note when someone is referenced as "gone", not only here but on the "Island" as well. Pay attention to what that means.

Travel back with me/Do I need a passport?
It's fun to travel to the past (or future) and revisit things we witnessed in the story. While I am in the middle of bringing all my notes from my/the past over to this site I am entertained by some of the info we got outside the story; like this video clip from Comic Con 2008. It's interesting to see if it fits anywhere in season 5.
Keep in mind the following notes were originally posted on MySpace July, 2008.
Let's talk about LOST! Do I Need a Passport?
OF COURSE, I DON'T HAVE A CLEAR VISUAL OR AUDIO, SO DETAILS WILL HAVE TO BE ADDRESSED AFTER I SEE THE OFFICIAL RELEASED VIDEO. PLEASE BEAR WITH ME.
At Comic Con 2008, we saw the release of two video clips. One for the Octagon Global Recruiters booth and the other, the infamous Dr. Candle/Halliwax/Wickman Dharma videos we've all come to know and love.
Let’s check out what we have so far….
Video from the LOST PANEL:
Dan Bronsen follows Hans Van Eeghen through the floor at Comic Con and arrives at the Dharma booth. Dan communicates to the concealed camera how he had to sign like 50 confidentiality sheets that he would't tell the contents. But he's going to reveal all, live…On tape! {HA! Love that!} Van Eeghen is going to show the new recruit's a classified video….
There is a "glitchy static" video transmission...
Dr. Marvin Candle.
Candle sits on an ugly sofa in front of book shelves. His clothes seem dated.
"Hello. My name is Dr. Marvin Candle and I....you know what? Forget it. No point in games anymore, right? If you're watching this now, you already know that my name is, my real name is Pierre Cheng, and I... (baby cries off camera to the right, Cheng gets up, yells angrily} "Damn it, Lara {name?} Just take him outside! Please! I've got one chance at this." He sits down …{static}… and I…professor of theoretical Astro-physics from Ann Arbor, Michigan. I was brought to this god forsaken island …years ago to conduct experiments…….{static}…. to study the Kerr metric solution of the Einstein field equations…. and... {static}…. If I can keep this *** {something else seems to be on the left of the shot for a moment, Cheng's right side} …. open long enough, you should be receiving my message roughly 30 years…. {static}… If you're... {static}…. The American president is a man named George W. Bush. And you share digital information, instantaneously on something called "Internet". And, unfortunately, my colleagues and I are all dead. And f… {static}… of a violent purge, one that we are apparently powerless to escape. {looks down at his left arm, moves fingers, and touches it with his right hand)….{static}…This…(in)formation comes to me from the source that has proven himself to be credible.
Camera man- "None of it matters. It doesn't matter. Just get to it. Please!…. {static}
Dr. Cheng- "regardless…… if this transmission is successful, it's proof the work I've been doing here is valid. This place, it has extraordinary properties. I'm begging you, no matter what's happened, it's imperative that the DHARMA Initiative be reconstituted. You have to continue to research…. {static}… and you have to do it now. Time is not just of the essence, it is the essence. Perhaps you'll be able to, find a way to save us, to change the past and to…. {static}…. You have to stop what's about to happen….. You can't let it.... "
Camera man- "This is useless! It's just….it's…use…. They're never gonna see this, Pierre. How do I turn this off?"
Dr. Cheng- "No, no. Wwwwhat are you doing?"
Camera man- "How do you turn it off?"
Dr. Cheng- "No. No. No…! What are you doing?"…. {static}
Dan Bronsen is caught filming by Van Eeghen, and runs off excited that he has the pirated tape!

THINGS TO NOTE…QUESTIONS TO ASK…
* Sounds like Daniel Faraday behind the camera. (What do you think?)
* Is Daniel Faraday Cheng's credible source?
* The cameraman doesn't know how to turn off the camera/recorder.
* The baby crying sounds like a cat. LOL
* Of course, ALL important details/information are absent from the Cheng video.
* We know Candle/Wickman/Haliwax/Cheng appeared in Dharma films/videos in 1980. The Barracks video was shown in the 60's/early70's. That's based on young Ben's age/arrival to the "Island."
* In the Swan orientation film Candle fans have said he has a prosthetic left arm. That copyrighted year was 1980. He does not appear to have prosthetic arm in this new tape.
* Which purge is Cheng talking about? The one from December 19, 1992? The one where Ben took the lives of over 40 people? Or the one Locke speaks of at the mass grave where at least 100 Dharma people are? Which one, damn it?
* Why would Cheng, a professional credible scientist need to constantly change his name for the Dharma Orientation films/videos? Why not just use your real name? Maybe he's not who he says he is at all. By Cheng revealing his "real name" he is admitting "lies and cons" from previous films/tapes. What would make this tape any different? I'm just asking!
* Cheng would know current events info if there really was "time traveling" involved. If there isn't time traveling and this is a con, we know Ben, Mikhail, Tom and Richard all have access to the "Outside world." {lol "outside world"} So they would know who the president is and all current events info.
* Was "time travel" one of the original fields of study for Dharma?
* Damon and Carlton have mentioned Desmond's conscious mind travels. Still the Dharma videos are trying to convince us of physical time travel. Make up your friggin minds already!! {I love Damon and Carlton, by the way!}
* If "time travel" is attainable in this story, why wouldn't the past have been changed already? We see evidence of them living events over more than once. So, for example, why wasn't Kate's past, I.e. killing her father, changed, or any of the other crimes she committed changed? Why wasn't the past event of Anthony Cooper throwing Locke out of the window changed? How about Michael being able to keep Waaaaaalt? Oh! Oh! Oh! Because you can't change the past! What's done is done! Unless, we're playing by the rules of the terminator movies. Hehehehe.
* We saw Desmond try to change things...But he didn't.
* Couldn't the plane crash been avoided by changing the past? No, because that's all part of the plan. {Staged, Faked, etc.}
* Is the reason Juliet is in love with Jack because they "time travel" back and forth through the time/space continuum, and share a former romance and are destined to be together. Or is it because they are scientists or even natives who are really old and just happen to share a romantic past?
* Is the above reasons for Jack and Juliet the same for Sun and Michael? Sun and Jin? Or Kate and Jack? OR Kate and Sawyer? Or Claire and Charlie? Or Libby and Hurley? Or Desmond and Penny? Etc….
* With that many people involved in "said" time traveling, how can you keep all the things/events/facts you want kept the same, but change other things? You can't have it both ways especially with so many lives involved? Did that make sense? LOL!
* Rachel Blake and Dan both, separately, have video taped information.
* Are we about to see where QUARANTINE and VACCINES come in? How about the clues involving DNA, GNOMES, BLOOD, BREEDING, BLENDING, CREATING etc..
* Are either of these new videos a connection to the discoveries Rachel Blake made with Dr. Mittlewerk and that group of people?
* I find it very important to note the use of the "games" comment from Cheng and the visual of Little Red Riding Hood with the Big Bad Wolf in the Dharma testing video. Hmmm.....
VOCABULARY AND RESEARCH…
* Relative: Not absolute; connected to or depending on something else.
* Relative: Someone in the same family; someone connected by blood, marriage, or adoption.
- Or: refer to relativity for a scientific definition.
* Reconstituted: To constitute again or anew; especially: to restore to a former condition by adding water.
* Essence, (Electronic Surveillance System for the Early Notification of Community-based Epidemics) is a United States Department of Defense health-protection initiative.
* In philosophy, essence is the attribute or set of attributes that make an object or substance what it fundamentally is, and which it has by necessity, and without which it loses its identity. Essence is contrasted with accident: a property that the object or substance has contingently, without which the substance can still retain its identity.
The Dharma testing video shows us motivational words and sentences, plus quick snapshots of spine x-rays, blood, subliminally showing us medical experimenting/testing.
With all revealed at Comic Con 2008, could Cheng be telling the truth about prompting a newly reconstituted Dharma Initiative/recruits into "time traveling" to change events so some upcoming tragedy doesn't occur? Or are the "Time Traveling" videos a cover for what's really going on?
Couldn't OGR/Dharma be trying to recruit more workers and test subjects/guinea pigs, for the sake of perfecting whatever it is they are working on medically such as a vaccine or a virus, a hybrid? Whatever? Are these two tapes connected or do these two things have nothing to do with each other?
Could we have ourselves a full blown epidemic about to break? I guess we should get inoculated! I hope the future…Uh, I mean the past, has great doctors and great medical insurance. I'll let you know when I get there…Uh…I mean back….Or here….Aaaaaahhhhhh!!!!
Love to all who are "LOST"™

* Damon and Carlton have mentioned Desmond's conscious mind travels. Still the Dharma videos are trying to convince us of physical time travel. Make up your friggin minds already!! {I love Damon and Carlton, by the way!}
* If "time travel" is attainable in this story, why wouldn't the past have been changed already? We see evidence of them living events over more than once. So, for example, why wasn't Kate's past, I.e. killing her father, changed, or any of the other crimes she committed changed? Why wasn't the past event of Anthony Cooper throwing Locke out of the window changed? How about Michael being able to keep Waaaaaalt? Oh! Oh! Oh! Because you can't change the past! What's done is done! Unless, we're playing by the rules of the terminator movies. Hehehehe.
* We saw Desmond try to change things...But he didn't.
* Couldn't the plane crash been avoided by changing the past? No, because that's all part of the plan. {Staged, Faked, etc.}

Narrator: "They look like us. They talk like us. They walk among us. Yet, they are not us. Ever since the dawn of civilization, secret societies have existed. What do they know that we don't? And why do they exist? Some exist as a benign social group in a small town, but others span the breath of the entire planet, infiltrating ever corner of our society. An assembly that spreads in our ignorance, working silently to accomplish its unwritten mission. The scope of their power is unbeknownst to even the most intelligent minds of our time.
Are these groups here to protect us, allowing man to live under their silent watch? Or do they have evil intentions {Glitch} far beyond our darkest nightmares? Mind control, secret weapons, conspiracy to overthrow the government, intelligence sharing with other worldly beings, and clandestine eavesdropping of our most intimate communications. Organizations like the Freemasons and the Skull and Bones existed in complete secrecy for many years. However we now know of their existence and we believe their mission to be purely humanitarian. But perhaps there is another organization. One that has yet to be classified. One that exists only under the dark veil of secrecy. It appears to be a peaceful organization, but wary to show itself to the public. The recent manifestation of clues and evidence has prompted interest from truth seekers around the world. You may have seen an octagonal seal or crest with the word "DHARMA" in the center. The word itself, an Indian spiritual term; this is their mark. Why do they exist and what are they here for? Any clandestine organization of significant stature cannot exist in complete secrecy forever. Documents, stories, records; telling items that eventually float their way to the top of our collective consciousness. Theory and assumptions quickly inch closer from fiction to fact. It is perhaps by piecing these minuscule clues together one-by-one that we start to solve the puzzle.

Live Together, Die Alone. Part 1
Let's talk about LOST! Live Together, Die Alone. PART 1.
"Are we rescued/saved?" asks Charlie as they all see the boat out in the water. The survivors all wave their hands in hopes of getting the attention of someone on the boat.
Sayid-"Perhaps it's them." {Whom?}
Sayid, Sawyer and Jack dive in and swim out to the boat.
Kate looks through binoculars. {They're at a funeral and Kate happens to have binoculars.}
Charlie- "Maybe it's a trap?"
Hurley-"What do you mean a trap?"

Jack, Sawyer and Sayid climb on board and cock their soaking wet guns. The 3 amigos hear Opera music coming from below.
Shots are fired upward from below.
They hear the gun run out of bullets and a voice say, “Damn it.”
Jack kicks in the boat’s hatch.
Drunk Desmond looks up, "You."
He laughs in amusement.{We get a glimpse of Sawyer's healed gunshot wound on his left shoulder}
Nigh on the beach:
Jack brings over food and talks to a still drinking/drunk Desmond.
Jack chats with Des about him running off and that he forgot to mention that he still had a sailboat.
Jack- “Why’d you come back?”
The drunk replies, "Do you think I did it on purpose?”
Desmond tells his tale of sailing out there for 2 ½ weeks, bearing due west, making 9 knots, he should've been in Fiji in less than a week. The first piece of land he saw wasn't Fiji; it was here, this island. He continues, "Because this is it. This is all there is left. This Ocean and this place here. We're stuck in a bloody snow globe. There's no outside world, there’s no escape."
Desmond wants Jack to go away and let him drink.
Sayid gets Jack’s attention.
Desmond asks Jack, "You still pushing it?
Jack smiles, "Yeah, we're still pushing it."
Desmond shakes his head as if to imply they’re idiots.
{FLASH}
BUZZZZ!!!
Desmond stands at the counter in a military prison.
The soldier/guard is returning Desmond’s personal property to put in a brown paper bag. {A set of keys, pocket watch-gold plated, 1 photograph w/Penny, one book 'Our Mutual Friend' by Charles Dickens. {Hardcover}
{Over the speaker you can hear, Corporal Priestly 9 1….}
The Guard asks him why he didn't bring the book inside.
Desmond-"To avoid temptation, brother.” He's read everything Mr. Charles Dickens has ever written, every wonderful word, every book, except this one. He's saving it. It will be the last thing he reads before he dies.
The Guard- "That it's a nice idea, as long as you know when you're gonna die." {Does he know when he's going to die? Nobody knows that! How would he know when to start reading it?}
The guard proclaims, "Lance Corporal Desmond David Hume, your sentence is hereby complete. You are now and forever Dishonorable Discharged from the Royal Scots Regiment of her majesties armed forces. Long live the queen."
A date on discharge paper April 4, 1999. The guard tells Desmond to "Enjoy your sodding book!" {Does he know Desmond is going to die? LOL!}
Desmond leaves the building with his paper bag.
Thunder rolls and it’s pouring rain.
Building 5B and sign that says Southway Garrison. B Company.
Desmond is offered a ride by a man in a fancy car {Mr. Widmore}. Desmond initially refuses the ride from him. Widmore tells Desmond to “Get in the car!”
Sitting in the back seat Desmond notices Widmore has a black box and a white box, “Did you bring me a present?”
Actually Widmore brought Desmond two presents. “One of these boxes contains your past, Hume, the other, your future.”
Desmond opens the black box containing all the undelivered letters he wrote to Penny (who he calls Pen).
Desmond is upset, “You’re a bastard. You know that.”
Widmore feels that it’s good for Penny to have not received his sentiments. Now Penny believes Desmond has forsaken her and that’s the way it’s going to stay. Widmore shares Penelope has moved on with her life and will marry. Widmore opens the white box, "This is for your new life, away from my daughter. The conditions are simple. No contact, No calls, No post. You just run away."
Widmore feels Desmond would 'just' run away because he's a coward. {Coward from what?}
Back on the beach Desmond continues to imbibe.
Sayid talks to Jack about taking advantage of Michael being compromised by the Others, "I believe fate has given us our answer. The boat."
Sayid explains to Jack the camp Michael is leading them to is where the Others will set their trap. Michael will lead them by land, Sayid will approach by sea; he can go ashore undetected and scout for them. Their numbers and positions, their weapons. Then he will go to the nearest beach and start a signal fire with these leaves that burn a dark black smoke. {Oh really? Hmmm?} "You and your team will meet me at the signal and will go in together."
Sayid feels sure Michael has been turned and doesn't want the other three to know the plan. Sayid doesn't want Michael to sense they know he is lying, "All we have is the element of surprise, Jack."
Jack’s only responsibility is to keep it secret.
Jack-"Black Smoke, huh?"
Sayid nods, "This time they will know that we are coming." {This time!}
Locke limps into the computer room of the hatch. We hear the big magnet sound, computers running and clicking.
Eko, who is happy to see John, is looking over the log printouts from the Pearl Station.
The timer shows 5 minutes.
Eko asks John where he’s been.
John’s been thinking… in a minute that computer’s gonna start beeping and he wants Eko to "let the computer run down to zero, past zero. And you're not gonna push the button."
Eko smiles, “But I am going to push the button. Why wouldn’t I?”
Locke- "But you don't want to be a slave."
Eko-"I am a slave to nothing"
Locke-"You're a slave to that. {points to the time/timer}Just like I was. So I'm going to tell you again…don't push it."
Eko- "Do not tell me what I can do."
As Eko is entering the numbers Locke attempts to smash the computer with Eko’s stick.
Eko grabs the stick before he can hit the computer with it he punches John in the face.
Eko enters the code.
Eko literally tosses Locke out of the hatch as Locke's yelling "No, it's not real! We're only puppets! Puppets on strings! As long as we push it we'll never be free".
Eko-"Well you're free now, John. Do not come back."
Eko closes the door on Locke.
Daylight at the beach:
The boat is pretty far off shore.
Jack gives one armed Michael a gun. Jack tries to give Hurley a gun, but Hurley says, "No way. If I take that, I'm gonna kill someone."
The point of this excursion is to get Walt back.
Jack gives Kate a gun and she looks at it weird. She talks to Jack again about the stuff they found in the medical station, "Costume, makeup, fake beards. What if these people just want us to think they're hillbillies?"
Michael gets uppity, “Listen. Listen, I was there. I saw them, they are hillbillies! They live in huts, they eat fish. They’re probably more scared than we are and they have no idea we're on our way!"
Sawyer interjects, “Alright. Enough jibber jabber. Let’s Roll."
And they all roll.
ELIZABETH Newport Beach is the name and port city on the boat.
Desmond is rowing to shore.
Desmond and his bottle arrive at the beach. Sayid tells him he needs his boat. Sayid informs Des he's not going "out there"; he needs to get to the north shore quickly.
Desmond asks if he's off to see the Hostiles.
Sayid- "The what?"
Desmond-“You know what? Ignorance is bliss. The boat’s all yours, brotha." {WTF? So don't tell him any info that he may need to save his life or protect anyone? WHY? Maybe he's only worried about himself} Sayid admits he doesn’t know how to sail. Desmond suggests he find someone that does.
{Flash}
Desmond is at the counter buying a cup of coffee. {The color Yellow is obvious here.} He orders the one with the most caffeine in it {stimulant} He's just arrived and doesn't have any more American money; spent it all on a taxi.
Libby, who is behind him in line, pays for it. $4.00. Desmond jokingly asks her if she has 42,000 more of those.
Libby replies seriously, “Depends on what it’s for.” {Really!?} She feels he wasn’t joking about asking for money.
Des tells her about the Solo Sailing Race Around the World. The brochure cover shows us: International Open Ocean Racing Association. Notice of Race.
Desmond’s got 8 months to get in the best shape of his life.
Desmond adamantly tells her, "I'm going to win."
Libby wants to know what he gets if he wins. To Desmond, what matters is who he wins it from. He shows her the back of the brochure; a picture of Charles Widmore. Industrialist, Philanthropist. Sailing Competition.
He openly shares with this "stranger" the fact Widmore tried to buy him off, and when Des didn’t take his money Widmore took away the only thing in the world he ever truly cared about.
Libby- “Who is she?”
Desmond-“His daughter. I was unsuitable on several levels.”
Libby asks what the 42 grand is for. Desmond reveals he still needs a boat.
Libby looks stunned as she has a boat. It belonged to her husband. He wanted to sail to the Mediterranean but he got sick and passed away a month ago. She wants Desmond to have his boat. Desmond says he can't take it.
Libby- "You have to. He'd want you to have it." {WTF? Why would he want HIM to have it?}
Desmond asks what his name was. “David” named the boat after her. {Elizabeth}
Desmond accepts the generous gift and says "I thank you, Elizabeth. And I shall win this race for love." {David -Desmond’s middle name and the formal of Dave. Elizabeth-Libby-Ellie.}
Back at the beach, Sun and Sayid talking. Jin comes over to have a private chat with Sun; Sayid will be at the shore. Sun tells Jin, Sayid wants him to sail the boat to the other side of the island to help Michael. Jin smiles but says no; he won’t leave her now. But he wouldn’t be leaving her because Sun’s going with them.
Michael leads the group through the jungle.
Sawyer sees a doll on the ground and almost falls into the ol dolly trap. Kate shares it’s one of the many traps Rousseau has throughout the island. Sawyer asks her how she knows that.
Kate shares the bit about her and Jack getting caught in a net. They hear what sounds like wings flutter/fly by them. A Big {Prehistoric size, camouflage bird} flies over them. Then sound/"HURLEY" coming from the bird.
Hurley-"Did that bird just say my name?"
Sawyer says yeah it did, and then sarcastically, "Right before it crapped gold." {That's interesting, only Hurley heard anything. Also note that the bird and Hurley blend in with the jungle.}

Michael is the only one pulling the trigger at the “bird”, except he realizes his gun has no bullets. Jack gives him a new mag and apologizes for forgetting to load his. Michael realizes that they may be onto him.
Charlie comes upon Locke crying in the jungle. Locke pulls himself together.
Charlie asks Locke what happened to his face. Nothing; Locke says he’s fine.
Charlie- “Hey ahh, you’re feeling sorry for yourself, you may wanna have a drink with your mate from the hatch. I hear he’s a little despondent as well.”
Locke- “What?”
That’s right, Locke wasn’t there for "Desmond's dramatic arrival at the funeral.
Charlie-“I think he’s pushed your button too many times, if you ask me.” {Charlie has attitude/eyes}.
Locke- “Desmond?”
Yep.
Charlie’s sure Locke and Desmond have a lot to talk about. Charlie gives a quiet chuckle then just walks away.
Sayid hides a gun on the small raft in a blue tarp.
Sayid says to Sun “I’m sorry if what I said was confusing but, I asked Jin to come.”
Sun explains you need at least two people who know how to sail and she'll translate. Sayid notes that Desmond managed by himself.
Sun-“And look where he ended up.” {Jin seems to have understood what Sun just said. Desmond’s boat is very far in the distance.}
At the beach, Claire is contemplating the whole pneumatic injector issue with the baby.
Desmond, still drinking his bottomless bottle of liquor, says "You're wasting your time sister. I shot myself with that stuff every 9 days for 3 years."
Desmond walks over to look at the “lovely” baby and asks, ”Is the father here on the island?”
Claire- “No. He’s been gone a long time.” She shares he walked off when he got scared over the situation.
Drunk Desmond thinks maybe the guy knew he’d be a lousy dad and did what was best for her. Insulted Claire replies, “He was doing what was best for him. “ {That is important, especially said in Desmond's company.}
{Flash}
At the stadium, Desmond is outside his car gearing up for a run. Jack pulls up in the background. {His tee-shirt has an emblem on the left side} Penny pulls up. {Jack runs up the steps.} Des is surprised but not shocked to see her.
Desmond-“How did you find me?”
Penny was able to find him due to her affluence. "With money and determination, you can find anyone." She asks if he read his beloved book, the one he was saving.
Desmond- “Not yet.” She thought he might have read while he was away.
Des was he was in prison, “not away”.
Penny gets teary eyed and asks why he didn’t write to her. He doesn't give an answer to that question, just asks when she'll get married. They have yet to set a date.
Desmond-"I'll be back in a year."
Pen- "What if you were back right now?"
Desmond tells Pen that he's going to win this race, “his” race and in a year he'll be back.
Penny- “Desmond, what are you running from?”
Desmond- "I have to get my honor back. And that's what I'm running to." He runs off.
The beach at night:
Locke approaches Desmond {He's still drinking his bottomless bottle of liquor; finally finishes the Dharma Chardonnay and tosses it.} and asks, “So, what did 1 snowman say to the other snowman?"
Desmond, who seems happy to see him says, "Smells like carrots." {Des has a bottle of Dharma Merlot.} They both smile seemingly happy to see each other.
Locke- “Hello Desmond.”
Desmond-“Hello yourself Boxman.”
Locke shares a sip from the bottle. Desmond notes that he/Locke managed to fix the computer.
Locke- "The world's still here aint it?"
Desmond isn’t so sure about that.
Locke asks Desmond to refresh his memory. {YEAH!! Refresh it!}
Locke-"How long did you say you were you down in the hatch?"
Desmond- "Three years.”
Locke-"What if I told you that, for all that, all those years that you and all the men before you, were down there, pushing that button. What if I told you it was all for nothing?"
Desmond-"I’d ask ya how the hell you'd know something like that?"
Locke-"I found another hatch. Another station on the island. They called it the Pearl. And I saw a film there. An orientation film. And it said that everything that was happening in our hatch wasn't real. That it was a test. A psychological experiment." {"He" found another hatch! Eko did too!}
Desmond feels he's lying, so Locke presents the video tape to him.
Locke-"You want to take a walk? I'll make the popcorn."
Desmond gets mad, "You're so sure it's not real, then just stop pushing the button."
Locke says he has stopped, but someone else decided to start. He tells Desmond to sober up, "We're going to get a good night's sleep, tomorrow we're gonna find out what happens if that button doesn't get pushed."
Hurley sits starring at the campfire. Sawyer offers him a Dharma nutribar but Hurley’s not hungry.
Michael out in the jungle is breathing heavy, stressed and sweating. You can see he’s got some heavy thoughts on his mind. Jack asks is he’s alright. Michael tells him he’s just getting some more fire wood and that he’s not feeling too hot. Jack tells Michael he shouldn’t be out there alone; so he gives him a hand. Michael thanks Jack for coming out here, risking his neck for his boy.
Jack-" Live together, Die alone, man."
Michael-“Yeah.”
Daylight:
Sun, Jin and Sayid sail around the island. Sun pukes over the side of the boat. Jin remarks that he told her not to come. She says it’s not seasickness. {Seasick sailor.}
There’s something Jin wants her to see. Sayid is looking through binoculars.
They see a 4 toed statue in the water near the shore of the island.
Sayid-“I don’t know what is more disquieting. That fact that the rest of the statue is missing or that it has four toes.”

Eko is in the computer room of the Swan hatch. He is carving into his stick. {9 22 next to the word revelation. The log print out is underneath the stick with 9 22} the electricity is blinking and buzzing. The power goes out leaving him in the dark!
Something resets and things power back up. {You can hear winding up sound}
The countdown clock shows 101 00.
Eko, armed with his stick and flashlight, gets up to investigate. The hatch door is wide open. There is a humming sound. He sees that a fuse has been tampered with.
The static countdown with the woman's voice starts. 8… 7...6... We see Desmond handling some live wires trying to spark a connection. …5….4…. Locke enters the computer room.
The countdown clock shows 101 00. An alarm sounds and the blast doors go down!
Eko runs to try to get back to the computer. While trying to get in his stick ends up with Locke inside the blast door sealed computer room. Eko is locked out!
Locke tells Desmond that's a neat trick! {The whole making the blast doors go down thingy} Eko is yelling for John from the other side of the blast door. Desmond hopes that Locke is sure about this.
Locke- "I'm more sure about this than anything in my entire life." {Did they get a good night's sleep? Is this a day later? The same day?}
Des-"Alright then Boxman…we wait."
{Flash}
It's a very stormy night.
Desmond is on the sailboat in this storm. His boat is getting tossed around by the violent waves. He’s holding on to the wheel trying to keep control of the boat. He ties up the wheel with rope. Then Des heads below deck, grabs his 'Our mutual friend' book, seals it in plastic for protection, and wraps duct tape around the plastic.
Back on deck Desmond falls, hits his head and gets knocked out. {Yeah, didn't see that coming. LOL!}
Flashes of Desmond waking up face down on shore.
A man in a yellow chemical/environmental/HAZMAT protective suit and mask picks him up then drags Desmond through the jungle on a stretcher made form branches.
{Note that things are very blurry, jumbled and distorted! One person is perceived as 2 or more people.}
We then see Desmond lying in the bunk bed trying to get some clarity.
The man removes the book from Desmond's protective plastic wrap and throws the book! Then he begins to remove his protective gear as Desmond appears to watch him.
The man in the yellow suit whispers, "Are you him?…What did 1 snowman say to the other?" Desmond has no idea what this man is talking about.
This is Kelvin Inman. Inman says that he found Desmond washed up on the beach, there was no boat. Kelvin is wearing a Dharma jumpsuit with the Swan patch on it. The beeping starts.
Desmond follows him into the computer room.
Kelvin, half in/half out of his Hazmat suit, enters a code and the clock resets.
Desmond asks "What was all that about then?"
Kelvin, seeming to not give a shit says, "Just saving the world." {Kelvin walked by the same new washer/dryer that is in the hatch with the Castaways. How new/old are those appliances, really?}
Desmond is watching the orientation film on the reel to reel projector.
{Note the audio sounds backwards. Desmond stops then starts the projector and it fixes itself.}
The film: “Not long after the experiments began however, there was an incident. And since that time the following protocol has been observed. Every 108 minutes the button must be pushed. From the moment the alarm sounds you will have 4 minutes to enter the code into the microcomputer processor.” {Note Candle is in a room within a room and there is an EXIT}

Kelvin asks Desmond how many times he's going to watch that thing. {How many times? Hmm?!} Desmond asks why there are missing parts.
Kelvin mentions Radzinski (his partner) made some edits. Kelvin is suiting up to go outside. He uses Duct tape to make his suit airtight.
Desmond wonders what happened to his partner but he doesn't answer.
Kelvin wants Desmond to be sure to put the film back behind ‘Turn of the screw’ when he’s done. Desmond asks why he wears that suit. Kelvin explains he wears the suit so he doesn't get infected out there. He gives Desmond the pneumatic injector and tells him to give himself a shot of this every 9 days, “You were out there a while before I found you. I hope it's not too late." {Manipulation-con}
In the computer room Desmond asks Locke, “Who is he, Boxman? The man out there pounding on the door.”
The timer shows 99 00. You can hear Eko pounding and yelling for John to open up the door.
John sits calmly, “His name is Mr. Eko.”
Desmond wants to know why Mr. Eko carries around a stick covered in scripture.
Locke says he's a priest.
Desmond- "We locked out a priest?"
Eko looks around; there’s a hum. He climbs out of the hatch and sees the blown open hatch door with the word Quarantine stamped on it.
Charlie is playing guitar on the beach. Eko runs up to him, “Charlie, do you know how they got the hatch door open?!”
Charlie- “No but if you hum it I can probably play it.”
Charlie reveals they blew it up. Eko needs Charlie’s help.
Charlie- "Oh now I'm back in your good graces, father?"
Eko frantically tells him about John locking him out of the hatch. Eko believes John is going to stop pushing the button. If John is successful, Eko is absolutely certain that in 90 minutes everyone on the island will die! {WOW!}
Charlie thinks about it for a few seconds, and says he's in.
In the jungle, Sawyer asks Michael if he thinks these Others are left over from the Dharma folk. Michael doesn't know.
Sawyer's theory is that they're aliens, “That's why they use the fake beards; their heads are made of prosthetic.” Except he says the word prosthetic wrong and Hurley corrects him. Sawyer remarks about being corrected by a guy that can’t spell so he asks Freckles for her opinion.
Kate tells them to keep moving, “We’re being followed...Just keep smiling.”
Kate notes there are at least 2 of them across the river. In 5 seconds she's gonna turn the tables on them. She asks Sawyer, “You in?”
Kate opens fire on them! One is dead, another is getting away. Kate wants to go after the one who got away. Jack says no.
Sawyer yells, “You crazy! You let him go they’ll know we’re comin'! He’ll warn them!”
Jack says it doesn’t matter if they catch him now, they’ve already been warned. He realizes Michael was indeed part of the set up. Jack knows Michael is lying and demands he tell everyone what he’s doing.
Michael reveals “It was the only way. They gave me a list…It had your names on it. I had to bring all four of you back or they said I’d never see my son again.”
Michael swears to Jack these people live in a camp with huts.
Jack takes the list from him. They now know Michael let Henry go, and killed the girls. He had to kill the girls, there was no other way. Killing Libby was a mistake; he didn’t have time to think. Hurley asks him if he had time, would he still have killed them. Michael is still claiming this is all about his son.
Upset Hurley says he's going back.
Jack talks him into staying. Jack apologizes for bringing them out there, but they have to follow the plan.
Sawyer wants to know “What plan?” {Apparently Jack has a plan.}
Sayid is on the boat, kneeling, praying.
Jin sees something through the binoculars. He leaves the wheel and shows Sayid some sort of rock structure. {Sun is at the wheel}
Sayid says that's the rock Michael described, "We're here."
Charlie and Eko are in the jungle looking for the spot that (Charlie says) Hurley showed the explosives he hid. Eko says they are running out of time. Of course Charlie finds the dynamite under leaves, wrapped in a blue/white beach towel.
Charlie warns him to be careful, “Dynamite is very unstable. Don’t handle it like Dr. Arzt.”
Eko brings the dynamite to the hatch.
Charlie is trying to get focused Eko to listen, “What if we hurt them or blow up the computer?”
Eko tells him he can leave now.
Charlie pleads with John beyond the blast door.
Desmond is twirling Eko’s stick.
Charlie says they should try to work this thing out. Charlie is trying to express to John that "Eko is very upset” and they should open the door and talk about it. Eko is running the fuse line. Charlie tells John Eko is going to blow open the blast door with dynamite from the old ship in the jungle.
Desmond tells him not to bother. It would take an atom bomb to do the job.
Locke-“You sure it’ll hold?”
Desmond looks at a damaged/crushed metal cart, “Aye. I’m sure.”
{Flash}
Desmond is playing with 2 wires to start a connection. {The electronic woman’s voice counts down.}
The timer shows 9100 When the countdown reaches 3…2…1… Des makes the Blast Doors go down for the lockdown. He smiles when the blast door can’t completely crush a metal cart.
Kelvin is pouring laundry detergent out into a measuring cup. {He mixing up stuff to act as invisible/glow ink}
Desmond asks how he knows where he left off from.
Kelvin inspects the blast door, “Slowly, Des.Very, very slowly.”
Kelvin paints the Blast Door Map. He says this whole baby was Radzinski's idea. He has a photographic memory. Radzinski also figured out how to fake a lockdown and created this great invisible map.
Desmond considered these tales about Kelvin’s former partner.
Kelvin shows Desmond a brown stain on the ceiling, "That's Radzinski." Radzinski put a shotgun in his mouth when Kelvin was asleep. {Sam Toomey also killed himself this way} Kelvin only had 108 minutes to bury the poor bastard.
Desmond- “Well, if you don’t want me to go crazy, next time let me go out.”
Kelvin- "What? You want to go out there with the quarantine and the hostiles?”
Desmond says he hasn't been outside for two bloody years, “Yes, I wanna go. I was in the Army for god sake.”
Kelvin mocks him- "Oh yeah, Her Majesties army…Tell me Desmond, why did you leave that nice old ladies army. Oh, I remember now, you got kicked out because you couldn't follow orders?"
Desmond asks him why he left his army.
Kelvin shares with contempt, "Because men followed my orders. But then, thank god, I joined the Dharma initiative. Namaste. Thank you and good luck."
Desmond begs to go out just once.
Kelvin-"Sorry. You stay here and push the button. That's an order." {Is Kelvin still in a role of giving orders? Is he still in command of an Army? Hmmm? By the way, it’s a good thing Radzinski was the same size as Desmond. Otherwise he wouldn't have a Dharma jumpsuit to wear. HA!}
Back inside the hatch Charlie is still pleading with John. He tells John seriously he’s about to be detonated.
Charlie then talks to Eko, who is still working intensely on his explosives.
Charlie-"What if John's right? Maybe it's just some colossal joke. Just some old computer connected to nothing. Maybe it's a bunch of wires that…"
Eko rips off Charlie's belt and throws it against the Wall/magnet!
Eko- “Is that a joke?”
Charlie sees himself out and takes his belt too.
Eko tells John “This is your last chance to end this. Open the door and I will forgive you.”
Locke- “Forgive me for what?”
Eko blesses himself. Charlie, still in the hatch, begs Eko to wait and tries to talk him out of it. Tells him it's not a good idea, they're in a very confined area. Eko lights the fuse with Dharma matches. Charlie runs! The TNT blows!
{Flash}
Desmond wakes up to the sound of the alarm.
He calls out for Kelvin, enters the code in the computer resetting it. Desmond hears a voice coming from another hatch in the ground of the computer room. It’s drunk Kelvin under the computer room with a key.
Desmond goes down there.
We see Caution System Termination, failsafe key.
Kelvin is swinging the key on its chain like a pendulum, says he couldn't do it. He tells Desmond this is the only other way out partner. Failsafe, “Turn this key and this all goes away. Poof."
Desmond asks what's behind that wall, “What was the incident?”
Kelvin- "Electromagnetism. Geologically unique. The incident {he snorts a laugh) there was a leak. So now the charge builds up and every time we push the button, it discharges it. Before it gets too big. “
Desmond- "Why make us do it, push the button? If we could just…"
Kelvin laughs, "Here's the real question Desmundo. Do you have the courage to take your finger out of the dam? Blow the whole thing up instead?"
{Eko is at least willing to blow up something. LOL}

Live Together Die Alone Part 2.
"Are we rescued/saved?" asks Charlie as they all see the boat out in the water. The survivors all wave their hands in hopes of getting the attention of someone on the boat.
Sayid-"Perhaps it's them." {Whom?}
Sayid, Sawyer and Jack dive in and swim out to the boat.
Kate looks through binoculars. {They're at a funeral and Kate happens to have binoculars.}

He laughs in amusement.{We get a glimpse of Sawyer's healed gunshot wound on his left shoulder}
{FLASH}
BUZZZZ!!!
Desmond stands at the counter in a military prison.
The soldier/guard is returning Desmond’s personal property to put in a brown paper bag. {A set of keys, pocket watch-gold plated, 1 photograph w/Penny, one book 'Our Mutual Friend' by Charles Dickens. {Hardcover}
{Over the speaker you can hear, Corporal Priestly 9 1….}
The Guard asks him why he didn't bring the book inside.
Desmond-"To avoid temptation, brother.” He's read everything Mr. Charles Dickens has ever written, every wonderful word, every book, except this one. He's saving it. It will be the last thing he reads before he dies.
The Guard- "That it's a nice idea, as long as you know when you're gonna die." {Does he know when he's going to die? Nobody knows that! How would he know when to start reading it?}
The guard proclaims, "Lance Corporal Desmond David Hume, your sentence is hereby complete. You are now and forever Dishonorable Discharged from the Royal Scots Regiment of her majesties armed forces. Long live the queen."
A date on discharge paper April 4, 1999. The guard tells Desmond to "Enjoy your sodding book!" {Does he know Desmond is going to die? LOL!}
Widmore feels Desmond would 'just' run away because he's a coward. {Coward from what?}
Back on the beach Desmond continues to imbibe.
Sayid nods, "This time they will know that we are coming." {This time!}
Locke limps into the computer room of the hatch.
{Flash}
Libby- "You have to. He'd want you to have it." {WTF? Why would he want HIM to have it?}
Desmond asks what his name was. “David” named the boat after her. {Elizabeth}
Desmond accepts the generous gift and says "I thank you, Elizabeth. And I shall win this race for love." {David -Desmond’s middle name and the formal of Dave. Elizabeth-Libby-Ellie.}
Sawyer says yeah it did, and then sarcastically, "Right before it crapped gold." {That's interesting, only Hurley heard anything. Also note that the bird and Hurley blend in with the jungle.}

Sun-“And look where he ended up.” {Jin seems to have understood what Sun just said. Desmond’s boat is very far in the distance.}
Drunk Desmond thinks maybe the guy knew he’d be a lousy dad and did what was best for her. Insulted Claire replies, “He was doing what was best for him. “ {That is important, especially said in Desmond's company.}
{Flash}
Locke asks Desmond to refresh his memory. {YEAH!! Refresh it!}
Locke-"How long did you say you were you down in the hatch?"
Desmond- "Three years.”
Locke-"What if I told you that, for all that, all those years that you and all the men before you, were down there, pushing that button. What if I told you it was all for nothing?"
Desmond-"I’d ask ya how the hell you'd know something like that?"
Locke-"I found another hatch. Another station on the island. They called it the Pearl. And I saw a film there. An orientation film. And it said that everything that was happening in our hatch wasn't real. That it was a test. A psychological experiment." {"He" found another hatch! Eko did too!}
Desmond feels he's lying, so Locke presents the video tape to him.
Daylight:
Sun, Jin and Sayid sail around the island. Sun pukes over the side of the boat. Jin remarks that he told her not to come. She says it’s not seasickness. {Seasick sailor.}

Something resets and things power back up. {You can hear winding up sound}
Locke- "I'm more sure about this than anything in my entire life." {Did they get a good night's sleep? Is this a day later? The same day?}
Des-"Alright then Boxman…we wait."
{Flash}
Back on deck Desmond falls, hits his head and gets knocked out. {Yeah, didn't see that coming. LOL!}
Flashes of Desmond waking up face down on shore.
A man in a yellow chemical/environmental/HAZMAT protective suit and mask picks him up then drags Desmond through the jungle on a stretcher made form branches.
{Note that things are very blurry, jumbled and distorted! One person is perceived as 2 or more people.}
We then see Desmond lying in the bunk bed trying to get some clarity.
Kelvin, seeming to not give a shit says, "Just saving the world." {Kelvin walked by the same new washer/dryer that is in the hatch with the Castaways. How new/old are those appliances, really?}
Desmond is watching the orientation film on the reel to reel projector.
{Note the audio sounds backwards. Desmond stops then starts the projector and it fixes itself.}
The film: “Not long after the experiments began however, there was an incident. And since that time the following protocol has been observed. Every 108 minutes the button must be pushed. From the moment the alarm sounds you will have 4 minutes to enter the code into the microcomputer processor.” {Note Candle is in a room within a room and there is an EXIT}
Kelvin wants Desmond to be sure to put the film back behind ‘Turn of the screw’ when he’s done. Desmond asks why he wears that suit. Kelvin explains he wears the suit so he doesn't get infected out there. He gives Desmond the pneumatic injector and tells him to give himself a shot of this every 9 days, “You were out there a while before I found you. I hope it's not too late." {Manipulation-con}
Eko frantically tells him about John locking him out of the hatch. Eko believes John is going to stop pushing the button. If John is successful, Eko is absolutely certain that in 90 minutes everyone on the island will die! {WOW!}
Sawyer wants to know “What plan?” {Apparently Jack has a plan.}
Sayid is on the boat, kneeling, praying.
Jin sees something through the binoculars. He leaves the wheel and shows Sayid some sort of rock structure. {Sun is at the wheel}
I’m sure.”
{Flash}
Desmond is playing with 2 wires to start a connection. {The electronic woman’s voice counts down.}
The timer shows 9100 When the countdown reaches 3…2…1… Des makes the Blast Doors go down for the lockdown. He smiles when the blast door can’t completely crush a metal cart.
Kelvin is pouring laundry detergent out into a measuring cup. {He mixing up stuff to act as invisible/glow ink}
Kelvin-"Sorry. You stay here and push the button. That's an order." {Is Kelvin still in a role of giving orders? Is he still in command of an Army? Hmmm? By the way, it’s a good thing Radzinski was the same size as Desmond. Otherwise he wouldn't have a Dharma jumpsuit to wear. HA!}
{Flash}
{Eko is at least willing to blow up something. LOL}

Live Together Die Alone Part 2.
