Everybody Loves Hugo

Let's talk about LOST.     Everybody Loves Hugo.
"In a world full of conflict and strife...there is but one fact we all can agree upon...Everybody Loves Hugo. Born to humble surroundings, Hugo Reyes has always been a beacon of light for all who cross his path. Now Hugo's lifelong love affair with chicken led him to acquire and then expand the Mr. Cluck's chain into a worldwide phenomenon.  The exponential growth of Hugo's success was startling.  But financial success wasn't the end... it was the beginning. Hugo and giving became synonymous.  Parks, playgrounds, hospitals, the Mr. Clucks house for children. The philanthropy was unparalleled.   Which brings us to this evening and the opening of the Hugo Reyes Paleontology wing at the Golden State Natural History Museum. A lasting beacon of culture that bears the name of one of our cities greatest benefactors...Ladies and Gentlemen...our man of the year...Hugo Reyes."
When he stands to the applause of the room his mom looks unimpressed.
The "Flashes of snapshots" from Hugo's life is displayed during the speech.{A farm, as an infant/mom, baby, grand re-opening, w/box of chicken, Mr. Cluck's in Paris,Mt Fuji, Egypt, shaking hands with people at a Construction site/hardhats, w/NuNu, kids and chicken suit guy at a zoo w/elephant, ribbon cutting, experimental farm,etc.}
{Note: When Cheng says hospitals the image of Hugo in front of BOX2 is shown}
The master of ceremonies is Pierre Cheng/Candle/Wickman/Halliwax.

While leaving the event Hugo tells his mom about another event in his honor next Saturday night; The Human Fund. {The trophy is an opaque piece of glass in the cutout shape of a T-Rex.} "Can you make it?"    Apparently Hugo receives many trophies.
Unimpressed and bored Mom remarks that everybody loves Oo-go, "You know who doesn't? Women."
She feels Hugo needs a woman in his life especially on who has not "nursed" him. While Hugo feels he's too busy to meet someone his mom feels the real reason is that he scared. Hugo says he's not scared. This pleases mom as she reveals he has a date tomorrow with grandpa Tito's neighbor's daughter Rosalita; she agreed to lunch with him. When Hugo asks what she's like, angry mom replies, "Willing to meet you! You're going! She's gonna love you. And if she doesn't...we will find someone who does."

Hurley changes the dead flower to a bright new fresh one at Libby's grave marker at Boone Hill.
Hurley kneels down and talks to Libby. "A lot of crazy stuff's been happening. I kinda wish I could talk you about it in person. A lot of people come and talk to me when they've...you know...gone. It'd be nice if you did too."
Ilana walks over asking Hugo if he's ready to go. "Once I'm back we're leaving."   She says she's going to the Black Rock because they need dynamite to destroy the plane. Hugo asks if she's sure that's the right move. Ilana isn't sure, but it's the only move they have.
Hurley-"Well, you're the expert."  {Some expert, huh?}
Ilana asks whose grave it is.
Sad Hurley shares her name was Libby and was in the tail section of the plane. They were gonna have their first date, like a picnic and then she was murdered. Ilana is sorry.
Hurley-"Yeah. Me too."
Ilana walks away. Once alone Hurley hears whispers.
Michael appears and informs Hurley he's there to stop Hurley from getting everyone killed. Hurley stays quiet while holding his dead flower.
Michael-"You gonna say something?"
Hurley-"And why should I trust you? You murdered Libby and Ana Lucia."
Michael-"That doesn't right matter now. What matters is you going across that Island to blow up that plane. People are gonna die.  A lot of people and it's gonna be your fault. {What?!} Because people are listening to you now, Hurley!"
In the distance Jack calls "Hurley".    Jack wonders who Hurley's talking to.
Hurley-"No one."
Jack-"Come on. We're leaving."
{Air plane engine/sounds-rumble}
Hugo is down to his last homemade tortilla chip in the basket. The waiter offers him more and starts to remove the other place setting but Hugo has him leave it because he's meeting someone and she's running late.
Waiter-"Right. Chips are on the way."
Hugo looks over the Spanish Johnny's menu.
Libby appears at his table. "Hugo."
Hugo looks over the top of the menu and sees this woman. He wasn't expecting someone like her; someone so pretty. He invites her to sit.
Hugo-"You don't look like a Rosalita."
She informs him her name isn't Rosalita, it's Libby.
Hugo-"So, you're not my blind date?"
Nope, she just saw him from across the room. She apprehensively mentions if she tells him how she knows his name he'll think she's crazy.
Hugo-"No I won't."
Libby reaches across the table and takes hold of both his hands. "Hugo. Do you believe that two people can be connected...Like soul mates?"
Hugo-"I guess."
Libby is getting teary eyed, "You don't remember me, do you?"
Hugo-"Should I?"
Dr. Brooks walks over and asks Elizabeth what she's doing. "Are you bothering this man?"
Libby claims Hugo to be an old friend. Dr. Brooks apologizes, explaining she wandered off.
Hugo-"Wandered off from where?"
Nearing tears, Libby tells Hugo that everything she said she meant.  They look in each other's eyes for a moment.
Dr. Brooks-"Forgive us."   He literally pulls Libby away.  Hugo is left surprised and confused.
Hugo walks outside to watch Libby get into the white van.  They wave at each other.

Ilana returns to the beach telling everyone they have to make it to the outriggers and across the channel to Hydra Island before nightfall. She tells Richard she retrieved four sticks of {totally shitty ruined sweaty leaking} dynamite; enough to destroy the cockpit and all the instruments. "That plane'll never fly."
Hurley doesn't think the whole unstable dynamite thing is a good idea. Ilana wants him to trust her because she's been training her whole life for this.
Hurley-"To blow stuff up?"
Ilana-"To protect you."
Hurley-"Yeah, but, how's blowing up the plane protecting us?"
Ilana starts piling water bottles into the dynamite bag, "With that plane gone, that thing wont be able to  leave the Island."
Hurley-"Yeah, well, neither will we. And then we'll be stuck here with it and then it'll be angry at us.
Ilana-"Jacob said Richard will know what to do.  And Richard said to blow up the plane, correct?"
Richard - "Yes."
Hurley- "Well, Jacob never said anything about it to me. I mean what if Richard's wrong?"
Richard is just watching Hurley.
Ilana-"Hugo, I'm looking out for your best interest...all of you!  Nothing is more important than this. That thing is evil. And god help us if it ever leaves this Island...Because if it eve..."
Upon jamming her last water bottle into her bag, Ilana is blown to bits!
Locke is whittling a very long stick with his big knife.  Sawyer asks him if it's going to be a spear.
Locke-"I'm not sure what it's gonna be yet, James. When the time is right, it'll tell me."
Sawyer-"You talk to wood now?"
Locke wonders if there's something Kate and Sawyer want him to do.
Frustrated Sawyer wants Locke to do "anything!"  He feels the bastards on the other Island grabbed Jin and they're just sitting around twiddling their damn thumbs doing nothing about it.
As he continues to whittle, Locke shares, "There's a difference between doing nothing and waiting."
Kate asks what they're waiting for.
Locke waves his knife-"You were only able to come back to this Island because you all did it together.  If we're gonna get on that plane and leave it has to happen the same way. We're waiting for your friends to get here, Kate.  Hugo, Sun, Jack.  That's the only way we're ever getting off this... god forsaken rock."
Kate-"Well I don't see that happening."
Locke-"Well let's just hope you're wrong."
Sayid saunters into camp and Sawyer asks him where he's been.  Sayid needs to speak to Locke in private; the two men walk into the jungle.  Sawyer suspiciously watches them
Locke wonders if everything went alright; did Widmore see Sayid.    Sayid mentions Widmore's people saw him.
Locke-"And you let them live?"
Sayid-"I didn't see the point of killing them when I had what I came for."
Locke-"So you found what they were hiding in the submarine?"
Sayid most certainly did. He led Locke to the reveal of peaceful Desmond tied to a tree.

Hurley walks over to Ilana's belongings.  Picks up a red covered book and the small sack of "ash"{Or diamonds}, which he takes.
Richard dumps a bag full of crap out and tells Ben they have to go get more dynamite or else "she" died for nothing.  Quiet Frank just watches.
Jack-"Maybe she died to show us to stay the hell away from dynamite."
That's a risk Richard is willing to take.  Jack tells Richard that he promised Sun that he'd get her off that Island and Richard wishes he didn't promise her that.
Richard-"If it makes you feel any better you can blame it on me."
Hurley thinks Richard is right and feels it's the only choice they've got, "Trust me, Jack."
Jack says okay, and motivated Richard suggests, "Let's get moving."
Although Hurley looks unsure.
{Air plane engine/sounds-rumble}
A clerk at the counter at Mr. Cluck's chicken is calling out for number 38.
Hugo walks up to clerk {Jayden} and orders a family size bucket of chicken.
While Hugo sits a eats a woman is calling out the number 41.
Hugo looks around, as if "feeling" like he's being watched and does indeed see a man looking at him. It's sunglass wearing Desmond. He walks over as asks Hugo if he's seen him before.
With a fist full of chicken leg, Hugo reveals he owns the place and the guy might have seen his commercial; he asks Des if he wants a Cluckateer key chain.
Desmond seems confused, "No. It's not that."
After a few seconds of recall he asks Hugo, "Were you on Oceanic flight 815...a week ago from Sydney?"
Yeah, what a coincidence! Desmond automatically takes a seat while he asks Hugo if he minds he join him while he waits for his order. "OOh...That is a lot of chicken!"
Hugo-"I eat when I'm depressed."
Desmond smiles-"So what's her name?"
Hugo-"I met a girl on a blind date the other night."   {Night?! It was lunch...in the day!}
Desmond-"And it didn't go how you hoped."
Hugo is excited and shares that she's totally awesome except for one thing..."She's crazy."
Desmond-"Well all women are a little bit crazy, brotha."
Hugo-"No! This one actually lives in the looney bin. I mean I saw the van. She's full on nuts. I mean she started sane...but then she told me we already knew each other. And that...I'd remember!"
Desmond wonders if Hugo believed her and he says yeah, he kinda did.  Desmond whispers to Hugo to go with his gut and try to find out where she thought she knew him from before he gives up on her. Hugo is lost in thought. The clerk calls out "42. Order 42."  That's Desmond's order number!
Desmond-"It was nice bumping into ya."
{Air plane engine/sounds-rumble}
Locke kneels down to talk to calm tied to the tree Desmond. He apologizes that Sayid tied him up but he was afraid Desmond would run before they had a chance to talk. Des doesn't blame him and explained he has nowhere to run to.  Locke feels that best argument against captivity that he ever heard, he doesn't know what is. He cuts Des free and asks him a couple of questions.
Locke-"Why did Charles bring you back to the Island?"
Desmond-"Considering I was kidnapped...you'll have to ask him."
Sayid confirms they had him under armed guard.
Desmond-"They threw me into a wood shack and blasted me with a massive amount of electromagnetism."
Locke wonders how he can be sure what he blasted him with.
Desmond-"Experience."
Locke-"Do you know who I am?"
Des replies matter of fact, "Of course...You're John Locke."
Locke instructs dead pan Sayid to head back to camp because he and Desmond need to take a walk. Sayid mechanically heads into the jungle. Locke holds out his right hand to Desmond to take, "Something I'd like to show you." {Who is showing who what?} Desmond takes his hand and Locke helps lift him up.

On their trek through the jungle stunned Ben remarks to the gang about Ilana and Jacob, "Kinda makes ya think, Ilana being handpicked by Jacob, trained to come and protect "you candidates", no sooner does she tell them who they are, then she blows up. "The Island was done with her. Makes me wonder what's gonna happen when it's done with us."
No cross wearing Richard has led them to the Black Rock. He wants to be the only one handling the dynamite so he's going in alone. It's at that moment he and the rest realize Hugo isn't with the group. {How does Hurley manage to vanish from the group undetected over the years?}
"RUN! GO! GO! GO! GO!" It's Hugo running from the Black Rock! It is blown to bits! {Only the ship, nothing else}
Richard is pissed, "Why the hell did you do that?"
Hugo-"I'm protecting us."
Richard-"What the hell were you thinking?! What are we supposed to do now?!"
Jack tells him to calm down.
Richard-"We're dead. We're all dead!"
Hugo sits alone. Miles tells him a warning might have been nice. Hugo did indeed say "run". He reveals to Miles that Michael told him to do that. Of course Miles doesn't know Michael so Hugo explains. "Michael. He's one of the people who come back and yell at me after they die. He told me I have to stop everyone from blowing up the plane, so...no dynamite...no more blowin up."
Miles-"That happen a lot? Dead people yelling at you?"
Hugo-"Happens enough."  {He thinks he gets yelled at?!!  WTF?}
Miles-"And you just...listen to whatever they say?"
Hugo-"Dead people are more reliable than alive people."   {And why would that be?! Think about it.}
{Air plane engine/sounds-rumble}
Large photo of a tropical island.
Hugo {wearing a gray zip-up hoodie)sits in Dr. Brook's office wanting to see Libby.
Dr. Brooks doesn't think that's a good idea as she's not well.
Hugo-"Clearly she's well enough for like a fajita field trip."
Brooks feels that's his mistake; he mis-judged her condition.
Nervous Hugo-"Her condition."
Brooks-"She has issues with reality."   He doesn't think it "probably" would be a good idea for Hugo to see her right now, it'll only confuse her.
Hugo-"You said 'probably' which means you might make an exception?"
Brooks-"Perhaps for family."
Hugo-"Or a generous donor. The rec room looked pretty narly on my way in. What do you think 100K might buy?"   Hugo writes a check.

A patient releases the black and red chips from the Connect Four gridVisitor Hugo sits in the rec room waiting for Libby. The room is filled with child like artwork, cutouts, paint, alphabets W-7U,games, images of the Island, old dude playing a hand-held video game etc.
Excited Libby enters and wonders if Hugo remembers. He does not.
She's disappointed, "Then why are you here?"
Hugo-"Where is it you think you know me from?"
Libby's not sure, "I know it won't make sense."
Hugo-"Try me."
Libby-"A few days ago I was watching TV and one of your commercials came on... and the moment that I saw you it was like I was hit over the head all these  memories came washing back... of my life..only it was... another life."
Hugo-"What kind of memories?"
Libby-"There was a plane crash and uh, I was on an island."
Hugo-"And I was there?"
Libby-"I think so. We knew each other. We... liked each other.  And then when I got here it was almost like I'd been here before and for some reason, Hugo,  I have a memory of you being here too."
Hugo-"Um, this is the first time I've ever been in a mental hospital."
Libby-"Yeah, I know. But I can't get you out of my brain and that's why the other night when I saw you  I had to talk to you. Because if.. you remembered me..."
Hugo -"I wish I could, Libby, but I can't. I'm sorry."
Libby cries-"It's ok. It's ok.  I'm crazy."
Hugo-"Yeah, probably, but we all got something, right?  I mean it takes a lot of guts go up to a total stranger  and tell them you know them from some bizarro alternate universe. I'm scared just saying hi to a girl."
Libby-"You're doin fine."
Hugo-"Hey, can you ever like... get out of here? Umm, day pass or...?"
Libby-"Yeah. I'm here voluntarily."
Hugo-"Whoa. Would you like to do something?"
Libby-"You mean a date?"
Hugo-"Yeah."
Libby would love that.
{Air plane engine/sounds-rumble}
"Remind me Desmond, how long were you down in that hatch pushing that button?", asks Locke.
 Desmond-"Three years."
Locke notes here he is back for more, "If I didn't know better I'd say this Island has it in for you."
Desmond-"Do you know better? There's nothing special about me, brotha. This Island has it in for all of us."
Locke-"Yes it does."    He sees a familiar young boy{brown hair} over Desmond's shoulder.
Desmond can see him too, "Who's that?"
Locke-"Just ignore him."
Desmond-"Do you know that boy?"
Locke-"I said ignore him!"    Desmond looks back at the boy, the boy smiles and runs away.
Back at the burning Black Rock motivated Richard decides he and Ben going back to the Dharma barracks because Ben thinks there is still grenades and explosives there.  Jack feels they should talk about this.  Richard feels there's no time to talk, but if Jack knows what they need to do , if he knows how to stop that thing from leaving the Island without blowing that plane up then they need to hear it.
Hugo declares they need to go and talk to Locke.
Richard-"Are you trying to get us killed?!"
It's not Hugo's idea, it's "his".    Hugo  points into the jungle at nothingness, claiming Jacob  to be there.    Richard calls Hugo on this and wants him to prove Jacob is standing there by asking Jacob "What the Island is".
Richard feels if Jacob is really standing there he'd know that he had told him what the Island is.
Hugo walks over and stands next to Richard stating he doesn't have to prove anything to him, "You can either come with me or you can keep trying to  blow stuff up. Your call, dude."
Richard looks Hugo in the eyes and announces Hugo's lying.
Richard-"Jacob isn't telling us what to do because Jacob never tells us what to do.  I'm gonna make this simple, if that thing leaves the Island that's it... it's over."   {Yes, it will be game over.}
Miles-"What's over?"
Richard-"Everything!  I'm destroying that plane and I could use all the help I can get.  Who's coming with me?"
Ben is going.  Miles tells Hugo he saw "that thing" in action and it doesn't want to talk, so he's going with Richard too.    Jack apologizes and feels if Jacob says we go talk to Locke, then they go talk to Locke. He's going with Hugo.
Richard-"Don't get in our way."   He and his tiny group heads out.
Jack-"Alright, Hurley...let's go talk to Locke."     Hurley looks troubled.
Hurley leads his group through the dark jungle.   Sun writes a note to Frank asking if they made a mistake.
Frank-"Probably."

Nervous Hurley asks Jack what he thinks they should say to Locke when they get there. "I mean...How do you break the ice with the smoke monster?"
Jack tells him not to worry about it because something tells him Locke will do most of the talking.  Hurley's scared he could just kill them all.   Jack seems nonchalant about it.   Hurley turns around to Jack and confesses he didn't see Jacob back there. He just said it because he wanted everyone to listen to him.
Jack-"I know."
Hurley wonders why Jack went with him.    Jack explains that ever since he got Juliet killed all he's wanted was to fix it, but he can't ever fix it.  "You have no idea how hard it is for me to sit back and listen to other people tell  me what I should do. I think that maybe that's the point.  Maybe...I'm supposed to let go."  {Yes, Jack. That is your lesson.}
Hurley remarks, unless his letting go gets them killed.   Going to see Locke was Hurley's idea, not Jacob's and  Jack is trusting Hurley.
Hurley feels it's a good thing he does, "'Cause I have no idea where I'm going."
They all hear whispers!
Hurley says it's cool because "I think I know what these things are."
He has the group wait there as he walks into the jungle alone.  He calls out for Michael "Hey you around?" and Michael walks out.   {It's a good thing Michael walked out and not some other gone folk.}
Hurley-"You're stuck on the Island, aren't you?"
Michael-"'Cause of what I did."
Hurley-"And... there are others out here... like you, aren't there. That's what the whispers are?"
Michael-"Yeah. We're the ones who can't move on."    {Can't.}
Hurley-"Do you know where Locke is?"     Michael points to a torch illuminated area down  in the valley.
Hurley asks Michael if there's anything he can do to help him.
Michael-"Don't get yourself killed."    He also asks if Hurley ever does see Libby again "Tell her I'm very sorry."  {Tell her yourself!!!}    Hurley smiles will be sure and do that.
{Air plane engine/sounds-rumble}
Hugo lays out a blue blanket on the beach for his picnic with Libby.  He brought six different kinds of cheeses.   Libby sits staring out at the ocean.   Hugo wonders if something's wrong.
Libby-"No. Not wrong...just...off."
She hasn't been "here" before but being there with Hugo is familiar to her, "Like a date we never had."  She realizes she sounds completely insane.  They both question each other about why they want to be with one another.
Hugo-"Come on, look at me."
Libby looks him in the eyes and tells him she wants to be with him because she likes him.  Hugo feels she likes him because she's delusional.   Libby just kisses him.  Hugo gets "Flash images" of he and Libby on the Island".   He opens his eyes and Libby asks what's wrong.  Hugo shares he thinks he's remembering stuff.   With this recall it may mean Libby isn't crazy.   Desmond has been sitting nearby in his car watching the two on the beach.

Locke has led Desmond to a  very old well.  Locke reads Desmond's mind in wondering how deep it is.  Locke tosses a lit torch into it and it sounds like it lands in water.    Locke teaches him that the people who dug the well did it completely by hand.  "God knows how long it took em."
Desmond-"It seems like a lot of  work just to get some water."
Locke-"Oh they weren't looking for water, they were looking for answers.  A long time ago places like the one we're standing at now made compass needles spin.  And the people holding the compasses needed to know why...so they dug."
Desmond-"Did they find what they were looking for?"
Locke-"No, they didn't.  The reason I wanted you to see this, Desmond,  is because Charles Widmore is not interested in answers, he's only interested in power.  And he brought you back to this island  so that you can help him find what he's looking for.    After all, this isn't the only well."
Desmond-"And that's the reason you wanted me to see this."
Locke is curious, "Why aren't you afraid?"
Desmond-"Excuse me?"
Locke-"You're out here... middle of the jungle...with me... not a person on earth even knows you're here.  Why aren't you afraid?"
Desmond-"What is the point of being afraid?"
Locke looks deep in Desmond's eyes, smiles and pushes him into the well.

Locke arrives back at his camp and informs Sayid that they don't have to worry about their "friend" anymore.
Curious Sawyer asks Locke where he's been.  Locke shares he went for a walk.   Sawyer feels now that Locke's stretched his legs...Sawyer's distracted by the arrival of Hurley.
Hurley-"I don't know who you are , dude or what you want..."
He appeals to Locke that even though both sides have weapons he wants Locke's word no one will get hurt or killed.  He gives his word that they're not going to do anything and he wants Locke's word to the same. So Locke hands his knife to him and gives his word.  Hurley tells the guys they can come out.   Out walk Frank, Sun {She doesn't automatically asks for Jin!}  and Jack.   Jack and Kate share a smile.   His gaze is broken when Locke says "Hello Jack."    Jack looks confused and concerned, Locke smiles.
{Air plane engine/sounds-rumble}
At school Locke is making his way across the parking lot in his wheelchair.   Desmond is sitting in his car and spots Locke.   Educator Ben knocks on Desmond's window to inquire if he's waiting for someone in particular.  Ben notes Desmond has been parked at the school watching the kids.
Desmond doesn't have a kid who goes there and adds the lie of just moving to the neighborhood and is looking for a school for his son "Charlie".   Desmond keeps his eyes on struggling Locke.
Ben-"Well, as a teacher here I can vouch for it completely. It's a wonderful school."
Desmond finds this info great to hear and obviously ends the chat with Ben.  Ben still looks suspicious.   Locke is still wheeling his way up the little hill.  Des starts the car and speeds up intentionally hitting Locke.
Ben runs over to him, tells someone to call 911.
"Mr. Locke! Oh my god!  Don't, don't move.  We're gonna get you to the hospital. Mr. Locke...Mr. Locke... Can you hear me?!"
Watch when Locke starts to come around.
Everybody Loves Hugo is a GREAT episode!!

Why did Desmond hit Locke with the car?  Is it so Locke has to connect with Jack...or because Locke pushed him into the well?
Why did Locke push Desmond into the well?  Was it payback for hitting him with the car?
Which of these intentional events came first?  Hmmmm  It is possible things are not separate at all.

Child-like artwork, cutouts, play, toys, games, imagination, make believe and yes...even deep pain.
I can't help but sometimes "feel" like we are seeing our grown up Losties behave like children at the same time.
The unblemished innocence of a young child, the ability to feel safe, to have their minds open to nothing but wishes, dreams, imagination, fantasy, exploration and possibility.  All of this is what every child embodies until the ugly hand of society gets a hold of them.    When a "catastrophic" experience happens to a child it leaves them feeling alone, abandoned, and hopeless, with their strength shattered and dreams crushed.
With all this mention of children this season I can't help but wonder about Waaaaaaaalt.

The "Island" does indeed seem to be the place you go to find  yourself, to rediscover the person you left behind and need to connect with again, to learn to love, forgive and accept things so that you can move forward.
People who are unable or can't "move on" are stuck. Exactly! Aren't they all stuck on the "Island" looking for answers?
This episode is riddled with mental health issues and the connection of Libby, Michael and Hurley.  Add to this Michael's revelation about the whispers belonging to some that are "stuck" in this "Island" adventure/experience/game because they're the ones who can't move on.  Locke is "stuck" too.  They have not learned what they are there to learn, hence they are still there.
Maybe there are even ones that "can't"... simply because they "can't".   Michael never said they were dead and/or spirits/souls lost in between worlds.  The reveal was left with enough ambiguity to go in the direction of either a religious "purgatory" (Of course then this would mean this "Island" purgatory would enable the dead to die over and over and over again) or something completely simple.
Can't it be that they are "stuck" in the damn adventure?!   Possibly on another level/plane or outside of the experience with access to enter while the Losties are in an altered state?
Nowhere did Michael or Hurley say how their journey is happening or what the "Island" is!!  A contrived bloody snow globe where things are imagined and faked?  If so, how would it be purgatory?
Take a look at Michael's monitors from the episode Meet Kevin Johnson.

Voices/whispers in their heads:
Schizophrenia: A severe emotional disorder of psychotic depth characteristically marked by a retreat from reality with delusion formation, hallucinations, emotional disharmony, and regressive behavior.

Personality Disorder: severe personality disorder that develops in early childhood; characterized by a lack of control of anger, intense and frequent mood changes, impulsive acts, disturbed interpersonal relationships, and life-threatening behaviors.

Or the more common reason among the rest of us, we may hear whispers/voices is when you are in a half awake-half, {semi conscious} sleep state.

Things to Note...Questions to ask...
* Now we have "wells" to look down into instead of "hatches".
* I don't see Isabella's cross hanging around Richard's neck.
* Hurley lies/manipulates to get the people to do what he wanted.
* Real. Not real.  "Island" and off "Island" events blur together.
* So...where's Christian?
* Menu. Connected. Power. Channel.
* Marker. Chip. Move.
* Crazy. Insane. Santa Rosa. {Rosalita} Mental Hospital. The Looney Bin. Full on nuts. Depressed. Delusional. Issues with reality.
* Identity.
* Memory. Mind. Head.  Brain.
* Believe.
* Desmond is #42 at Mr. Cluck's
* Game. Connect Four.
* Well. How many times was the word "well" said or shown in this episode?!
* Wrong. Not wrong-off.
* Wood Shack. Jacob's cabin. Mr. Cluck's chicken shack.
* What is with quiet observing Frank the pilot?
* When they blew up "the bomb" did that change things for the "stuck" people on the"island" too.  Shouldn't have?   Michael was told he can go by Christian.
* Desmond, Sawyer and Locke have seen the young boy.
* In Live Together Die Alone, Locke asked Desmond "How long did you say you were you down in the hatch?" Desmond replies-"3 years."
* Why would Hurley think the dead are more reliable than the living?  Maybe because the living can disappoint and hurt you.
* Jack mentions something to Ana Lucia about women being crazy.
* Why does Libby and Hugo say they met each other the other "night" when they met at lunch in the day?!!!!
* I don't recall mirrors for Hugo here.
* Hugo's commercial talks about sleeping under the stars and dreaming.
* Longing for family
* Is Locke still trying to bring the "family" back together.

Therefore, a body may not proceed to the global minimum of potential energy, as it would naturally tend to due to entropy.

So...What is the "Island"?! Are events happening in the "head/mind/consciousness"?    Is it combined with one hell of a LARP?! What kinds of things are happening in their brain/mind?
Either way things are connected. Who knows...this may lead us all back to a building in New York City.

Just throw a penny in the well and make a wish to find your true north.

Exodus. Part 1

Let's talk about LOST!   Exodus. Part 1

 {Click the pics!}

We get a shot of two Oceanic tickets. Walt opens the curtains in his hotel room to reveal the backdrop of Sydney Australia.  He looks down at the harbor.

Walt turns on the TV and blasts the volume The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers show. {Vincent is sitting on his bed}
Walt is defiant to Michael as Michael tries to get Walt to go back to sleep and lower the volume. Michael looks at the clock-radio, its 5:23 am.
Walt turns up the volume; Brian lets him watch it as loud as he wants.
Michael, who is not Brian, grabs the remote and turns off the TV. Walt storms out of the room with leashed Vincent.
Michael goes after him and Walt just taunts him yelling, “Get away from me…You're not my father… You're not my father!" {Can Walt feel that he is not his 'father'?}
Walt attempts to get on the elevator; 3rd floor.   Michael grabs his arm and pulls him back to toward the room.
Michael-“I don't like this either, but you're getting on that plane
Walt-“No, I'm not!”
A dude wearing black and white asks what’s going on.
Michael- “It's okay, I'm his father.”
Walt yells, “No, you're not. You're not my father. You're not my father!”
{Flash Whoosh}
Michael and Walt are sleeping on the beach. Vincent is right beside Walt.
Walt wakes up and heads over to pee by a tree; not waking anyone else.  He hears something {Like bird wings flapping} and then armed Danielle appears and quietly strolls into camp.   He quietly keeps an eye on her, following her.  Danielle and Walt make eye contact and Walt runs to wake up Michael.
Walt-“Dad! Dad, wake up! …Somebody's here.”
Danielle makes her way closer. The rest of the camp starts to wake up and Vincent is barking. Michael yells for her to stop “Stay right there. Who is that?”
Sawyer comments it must be the French chick. Sayid wants everyone to calm down, “It’s alright.” Danielle just gazes at the crying baby.
Sayid asks Danielle {who is in a zombie stare} what she’s doing there.
Danielle-“The Others are coming.”
She goes into the story of her arrival on the island while the Lostie’s listen intently as if she’s telling a wonderful scary ghost story.
“Our ship went aground on this island 16 years ago. There were six of us. My team6.   At that time…I was already 7 months pregnant. I delivered the infant myself.   The baby and I were together for only 1 week…when I saw black smoke.  A pillar of black smoke 5 kilometers inland. That night…they came. They came and took her.  Alex.  They took my baby.  And now…they're coming again. They're coming for all of you.”
Jack-“Whose coming?”
Danielle-“The Others. You have only three choices: {at Charlie} run, {at Michael} hide, {at Jack} or die.”

Jack walks on the beach with Locke and tells him, “This is a woman who blew up her own shelter. And now she's talking about seeing black smoke and hearing whispers. I mean, she's not playing with a full deck.”
Locke feels that doesn’t mean what she’s saying isn’t true.
Jack-“Well, if you want to focus on the ‘what if’ be my guest, but I've got to stick with what's tangible. And right now that's the launching of the raft."
Jack asks Michael how things are going with the raft.   Michael wanted to get off today but realistically after they get the rudder done they’ve still have to lay the rails to get it down to the water. Jack wonders if it would save time if they laid the rails while Michael was finishing the rudder.
Michael claims, “Manpower shortage.”
Jack needs 20 minutes to gather everybody and have them collect palm tree logs and then move the raft.
Michael guides everyone in the execution of the raft moving.  He tells them to use the levers as they need leverage to get it on the rails. On his count…1…2…3….Lift and PUSH!
Michael coaches them to “Push! Push! Push! Use the levers, use the levers. Good, good. 1…2…3…lift!
The raft gathers a bit of speed and the mast breaks off.   Michael can’t believe it and he is pissed! {He gives a nasty look to Sawyer.}
Sawyer-“What are you looking at me for? It's not my fault."
Michael blames him for missing a lever.
Sawyer blames Michael for not keeping the raft going straight. Walt calls for dad’s attention, pointing out a pillar of black smoke inland. {Dog barks in the background.}

Jack wonders-“How many of them are there?
Danielle has told them all she knows as she is rubbing a red cloth on her rifle.
Sayid-“There has to be more you tell us. How did you know?”
Danielle feels they have a bigger problem. “I can vanish into the jungle, but I'm just one person. You have 40 people. Where will you hide them?”

Hurley, Danielle, Jack, Locke and Sayid arrive at the hatch.  Danielle touches the hatch in amazement and asks, “What is this?”     But they were hoping she could tell them what it is. She claims to never having seen anything like it before.    Hurley feels the question is how they know they can all fit in there.
Locke-“No handle on the outside means there must be another way in. Another entrance means space.”
Sayid-“This is a mistake. We don't know anything about these Others. We're reacting with no information, no intelligence. This hatch might even be theirs. Black smoke on the horizon doesn't mean they're... “
Danielle feels it means they're coming.
Locke- “You booby-trapped your shelter with explosives. You have any more?”
Danielle-“Dynamite. At the Black Rock, in the Dark Territory.
Hurley-“Well, that's three reasons to go right there.”
She feels if they’re to make it back by sunset they have to leave within the hour. Locke seems pleased as he shares a look with Jack.

Jack sits in the Sydney airport bar. He has a glass of clear liquid with a stirrer.
He meets Ana Lucia {Ana is wearing a white shirt with a round brown circle, 2 necklaces, brown leather jacket, ring on left ring finger.}
Ana orders a Tequila and tonic with a wedge of lemon and asks Jack, “Why were you yelling? The girl…at the check-in counter. You were yelling at her.”
Jack asks if he knows her. Ana reveals she is on his flight.
Ana Lucia-“L.A.. So your dad died, huh?”
Jack thought she didn’t hear what he was yelling about but she claims she was just being polite. Jack shares his dad died of a heart attack
Ana Lucia-“Not a drinker, huh?
Jack-“No, no, not really.”
Ana Lucia, who is wearing a ring asks Jack- “No ring because you're single or because you don't like wearing one?”
Jack-“You asking me if I'm married?"
Ana Lucia-“Are you married?"
Jack-“No. No, not anymore.” He orders another tequila and tonic.
Ana Lucia- “I didn't think you were listening.”
Jack asks her name and wonders why she’s drinking tequila and tonics at ten to noon. {He checks his watch for the time. 11:50 am. Also, we don’t get her last name.}
Ana admits she hates flying and they stuck her all the way in the back of the plane where the wheels come down right under your damn feet. She asks him where he’s sitting.
Jack looks at his ticket to check it- “23B.”
Ana Lucia-“42F. Wanna trade?”
Just then her cell rings and she’s gotta talk. She tells him they’ll have the next drink on the plane.
Jack-“42F.”
Ana Lucia-“42F, right. And Jack, the worst part's over.”
{Flash Whoosh}
Jack-“Look… I know you're all scared. And I know everybody has a lot of questions. All I can tell you right now is that we do have a plan. We've got to go into the jungle to get some supplies. We'll be back in a few hours. In the meantime, do everything you can to help Michael get that raft on the water. And after that, go to the caves. We'll be back as soon as we can. Promise.”
Arzt feels it was a nice speech but the plan’s a little flawed, “But, hey, nobody's perfect.
Arzt-“Yeah, your plan. You're going to go into the jungle and get some
dynamite and blow open a hatch and then you're going to hide everyone inside. You want to keep a secret don't tell the fat guy. Jack wonders what Arzt wants.
Arzt- “God knows how long that dynamite has been out there. And from what I can tell Madam Nutso doesn't seem too concerned with how to handle it. So, unless you want to blow up, I'm coming with you.”
Jack says okay; grab some water bottles; they’re leaving in half an hour.

Michael and the Castaways are working on the raft.   He feels they can salvage the cable but need new bamboo for the mast. Jin checks out the rails under the raft and says something in Korean to Michael. Michael seems to understand him and answers, “We need to fix the rudder before we even start to think about that.”
Jin says something else in Korean. Sawyer asks if they need some help but Michael and Jin just walk right by Sawyer.  Sawyer tells them this wasn’t his fault and they should put him to work.  Michael feels they can just work faster this way.  Jin communicates in Korean to Michael and Michael replies, as if understanding, “Alright, alright. What do you think I'm doing over here?”
{Flash Whoosh}
Sawyer is at a Sydney police station.
Calderwood-“You remember me? Three nights ago? You were hauled in here thrashing and fighting. As you were being escorted by you kicked my desk.    And you broke my mug. … Sadly for you, breaking my mug was not the most significant mistake you made that evening.
Sawyer-“C'mon, Doctor. I got into a bar fight. Isn't that a badge of honor in this country?”
Calderwood- “Do you know who you head-butted in that bar? You head-butted the Honorable Warren Truss. Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Forestry. One of the most important... “
Sawyer cuts him off, “He head-butted me!”
Calderwood has witnesses he did no such thing. He opens a file folder and reads Sawyers record-“James Ford, assault, wire fraud, identity theft, bank fraud, telemarketing fraud...” {Wow! Is he just a total fraud?}

Sawyer wonders if this is going somewhere. Calderwood feels he’s a blight, a stain, a scavenger. “You're a conman who prays on the weak and the needy. Tell me something, James, how do you live with yourself?”
Cocky Sawyer does just fine.

Calderwood feels he’s not even worth what it would cost them to incarcerate you. “Which is why you're being deported. Your plane leaves this afternoon. And, James, you're banned from ever setting foot in Australia again.”
Sawyer-“Don't you worry; I ain't ever coming back here.“
Calderwood-“Best not, mate."
{Flash Whoosh}
Shirtless Sawyer is very focused on chopping down bamboo.
Jack walks up to Sawyer and asks, “A lumberjack?”
Jack had never asked Sawyer what he did back in the real world, so he’s taking a wild guess. {Sawyer is unwinding some wire or twine.}
Sawyer-“Something I can help you with, Doc, because I've got work to do.”
Jack hands him a gun; he’s the only one on the raft who knows how to use one. Sawyer wonders what he needs a gun for.
Jack-“Just in case.”
Sawyer-“You think we're going to run out of food or water? Am I supposed to put the kid out of his misery?"
Jack-“Just in case.”
Sawyer wonders what Jack will do with the rest of them.   Jack, with the silver case, will give them to Sayid.
Sawyer-“Going into the jungle after the boom sticks, huh?”
By the time they get back the raft and crew will be in the water, so this is pretty much goodbye. Jack wishes Sawyer “Good luck.”    As Jack walks away Sawyer calls his attention and shares some info with him.
“About a week before we all got on the plane…I got to talking to this man in a bar in Sydney. He was American, too. A doctor. I've been on some benders in my time, but this guy… he was going for an all time record. So, it turns out this guy has a son. His son's a doctor too. They had some kind of big time falling out. The guy knew it was his fault… even though his son was back in the States thinking the same damn thing. See, kids are like dogs, you knock them around enough… they'll think they did something to deserve it. Anyway… there's a pay phone in this bar, and this guy, Christian… tells me he wishes he had the stones to pick up the phone, call his kid…tell him he's sorry… that he's a better doctor than he'll ever be.  He's proud. And he loves him.   I had to take off, but… something tells me he never got around to making that call.  Small world, huh?”
Jack is very emotional, “Yeah.”
Sawyer-“Good luck, Jack.”

Cuffed Kate and Marshal Ed Mars are at the airport security office.   An airport security officer unlocks the silver case and asks Mars if he’s gonna be armed and wonders why  he need five guns.   Mars will be armed with an ankle holster. The airport officer reveals the toy plane is in the case and wonders about it.
Marshal-“That's a good story; you want to tell it, huh, Kate? This belonged to her childhood sweetheart who she got killed a couple of years ago when she was on the run. Poor guy; had a wife, a 2 year old kid. What was his name? Hmm? Well, somewhere along the way during the 3 years that I was chasing her, she starts calling me, at my house. And whining on about her mitigating circumstances, but what she's really doing is taunting me. {He taunts her with the toy} So, I tell her that I've got what’s-his-name's little toy airplane in a safe deposit box in New Mexico. So, she somehow figures out which bank, which safe deposit box. She seduces some idiot to rob the damn bank, and then she puts a bullet in her new friend because she's done using him. But she leaves all the money. She just takes the plane. Because that's the one thing in the whole world that Kate does care about. She has no attachments, and I think she's telling herself she needs it to atone for killing her boyfriend…what’s-his-name. God, Kate, c'mon, what was his name?”
Kate attacks the Marshal up against the security glass,Tom, its Tom, you son-of-a-bitch.”
Mars elbows her in the face, knocking her to the ground and declares, “And that… is why I need 5 guns.”
He uses his foot to pulls the toy plane out of Kate’s reach.
{Flash Whoosh}
On the beach Kate walks up to Jack.  She was thinking of going with him; for old time sake. Jack notes that she wouldn’t be there for the raft launching, but Kate’s okay with that as she’s never been very good at goodbyes.   Jack tells her to grab her stuff.
We get a shot of the column of black smoke rising up through the jungle.

Charlie is gathering messages to put in a bottle. {Thank heaven they have a wine bottle.} He thanks a dude for putting his message in the bottle and tells him he’ll keep it safe. “Hey, Locke, do you have a message? It's going on the raft. You know: 'Dear mom, everything’s fine. I'm on the island, unless, of course, the black smoke people turn up. Love, your name here'  For when they get rescued they can contact your family.”
Locke thinks the idea is sweet.
Hurley gives Charlie his message and is adamant about him not looking at it, although Charlie does take a peek.  Charlie asks Arzt if he wants paper but Arzt “Gave at the office.” {Note: we don’t actually see Charlie put Hurley’s note into the bottle. Silly, I know.}
Hurley says his goodbyes and wishes good luck to Michael and Walt.
Jack hugs Michael and Michael says, “See you soon.”
Jack-“Yes, you will.”
He tells Walt to look after his dad. Jack shakes Jin’s hand and wishes him luck. Jin replies back in Korean. Kate looks around for Sawyer.

Jack leads the team out to the Dark Territory. {Note: You can see Charlie ask Jin something about the bottle of messages.}
When they take a rest Danielle {Danielle in the lead} takes off  her sweater revealing
scratches on her left arm.   Locke asks how she got them.  Danielle claims they’re from a bush.
Locke-“Mean bush.”
Danielle-“We've got to keep moving. {I think maybe, they know each other, and she's willing to help Locke out.}
Hurley asks exhausted looking Arnzt…
Arzt-"No, not Arnzt.Arzt. A-R-Z-T, Arzt.”
Hurley feels the name's hard to pronounce.
Arzt-“Yeah, well, I know a bunch of 9th graders who pronounce it just fine”
Hurley-“How about I just call you by your first name?
Arzt-“How about you don't“
Hurley-“Why not? I remember it from the plane's manifest. I think Leslie's a bitchin' name.”
Arzt-“Arnzt is fine.”
Danielle leads them past a stream of running water and on to a piece of black fabric hanging on a branch. Danielle states,”Le Territoire Fonce.”
Jack translates, “The Dark Territory.”
Danielle tells them the Black Rock is not far, “This is where it all began…where my team got infected. Where Montand lost his arm. We must move quickly.”
Arzt gets freaked and announces he’s going back. Sure he wanted to help, but that was before Montand lost his frickin arm. Arzt tells them to be careful with the dynamite.

Michael is correcting Jin on the raft.
Michael- “No, no, no. This one goes there. That one goes there.”{Han Solo, anyone?!}
Sawyer with his bamboo pole-“Hey, Chief! Cut and measured to length. Perfect mast.”
Michael thanks him.
Sawyer-“Well, alright. Now, are we going to get off this rock or stand around talking about it?”

The team walks through the rainy Dark Territory; they hear weird noises.  Just then Arzt comes running, telling them to “Run!”
The mechanical sound of the monster is heard! Everyone runs except for Locke who stops Hurley. Locke tells him to just be still.
Hurley-“Dude, we've got to book.
Calm Locke is listening and tells him to “Wait. It's headed the other way.”
Hurley looks amazed at Locke. The monster sounds are mechanical, metal, whizzing, winding, clicking, growls, grunts, and the sounds (like) giant footsteps or even huge doors closing.
Danielle hides Jack and Kate.
The rain stops.
Danielle feels they’re safe now. Freaked out Kate asks her what that thing was.
Danielle-“It's a security system.
Jack- “Security system? What does that mean?”
Danielle-“Its purpose is that of any security system’s… to protect something.”
Kate- “Protect what? {Listen to the sounds in the background}
Danielle-“The Island.”

Hurley and Locke meet up with Danielle, Jack and Kate wonders where "Arnzt" is.
Arzt walks over and corrects Hurley, “It's Arzt, you idiot.”
Hurley thought Arzt was dead. Arzt just wants to get the dynamite.

Shannon is at the beach folding Boone's clothes. Walt asks her why she’s folding his clothes. Shannon claims it’s because she’s anal. Walt thinks Shannon should take Vincent because he’ll take care of her.
Shannon-“What makes you think I need a dog to take care of me?"
 Walt-“Vincent took care of me when my mom died… and nobody would talk to me. They pretended like nothing happened. So I had to talk to Vincent. He's a good listener. You could talk to him about Boone, if you want.”
Shannon will take Vincent but only until he gets them rescued. Walt hands her the red leash. {They touch hands in the transaction. I don’t know why I’m noting that.}
He kisses Vincent on the head.
{No Flash Whoosh. Only the sound of Airplane engines}
Shannon lounges on a seat in the airport doing word seek puzzle. An announcement is heard- Flight 338 to Fiji will be delayed. Please check the board for flight details.
Sayid asks her if she would mind watching his bag for a moment, he’ll be right back.
Shannon- “Sure, whatever.”
She doesn’t even really look at him. Boone walks over and informs her he couldn't get them into first class; maybe she shouldn't have yelled at the gate agent.
Shannon- “What? You're on his side, now?”
Boone, with a bruise on the left side of his face tells her one day she’s going to appreciate everything he does for her. Sarcastic Shannon cannot wait for that day.
On the escalator up Shannon suggests he try again with the gate agent. Boone wants her to “let it go.”
Shannon is not being pathetic enough to not want to sit next to some crying baby for the next 15 hours. Annoyed Boone feels she can be a bitch. She gets really pissed off.
Shannon-“Oh, you want to play? I will get you thrown off this flight.”
Boone wonders how she’s going to do that.
Shannon-“I can do whatever I want. I could tell them..."
Boone-“Tell them what? Who's going to believe you? You're not even capable of..."
Shannon informs him, “You have no idea what I'm capable of.”
Shannon walks up to a security guard and tells him some Arab guy left his bags in the chairs downstairs and just walked away; he went towards the shops. Security asks if she can describe him. Security runs off and arrogant Shannon asks Boone, “How’s that?”
{Flash Whoosh}
At the raft Sayid tells them he salvaged a few things for them from the Beechcraft. “This is the plane's radar emitter. It needs to be mounted on the mast or the top of the cabin.”
Sawyer will do it.
Sayid also tells Michael to conserve power, turn it on only once every hour or so. It will show you any ships within the horizon line, approximately 25 miles. The same with the radio transmitter. He then gives Michael a flare gun and informs him this was in the plane's toolbox. “There's only one flare. Choose wisely when you use it.”

On their trek, Danielle stops to reveal they are here, “This is the Black Rock.”
We see a grand old ship in the middle of the jungle with vines growing over it.

In the Airport: Jin sits at a table reading the newspaper.
Sun carries a tray with two coffees and food. Jin wonders what took her so long. {They communicate only in Korean.}
Sun-“I'm really hungry now. There were a lot of people in line. There really wasn't much to choose from, so I just got some simple things for us.”
Sun actually places the napkin on Jin’s lap
A woman at the next table tells the man she’s with, “If you ever catch me doing anything like that for you, shoot me.”
The man tells her, “Don't knock it. Their divorce rate's 20 times lower than ours.”
Sun hears and understands them. She accidentally knocks a drink over onto Jin. She tries to help but Jin heads off to the bathroom.
The woman at the next table remarks, “My god, it's "Memoirs of a Geisha" come to life.
The guy says, “Hey, volume.”
She tells him to relax, they don't speak English.
{Flash Whoosh}
At the raft Sun gives Jin a list of simple English words written out phonetically to help him communicate with the guys on the raft. He sounds out the word “starboard”.
Jin cries and apologizes to her. Sun is sorry too. They truly do seem to be in love.

Jin-“No, don't you understand, Sun. I'm in this place because I'm being punished. I made you suffer. You don't deserve any of this.”
Sun doesn’t want him to go.

Jin-“I have to go because I'm going to save you. Stay with Jack. He'll keep you safe.
Sun-“Who will keep you safe?”
They cry and hold each other tight. They love each other.

Shannon gives Charlie a message for the bottle. {Her purple notebook looks like it has the name Angela on it.}

Everyone is gathering around to see the raft launch. They all say their goodbyes.
Walt shares an intense eye to eye moment with Vincent and hugs him tight.
Jin even kisses Claire’s baby on the head.
Sun and Michael share an awkward hug goodbye.
Charlie gives the bottle of messages to Sawyer; they share a look. Sawyer puts the bottle in the cooler and looks back at the empty beach camp. {Note Sawyer’s hair is not in a pulled back pony tail.}
Everyone helps to push the raft out into the water. Everyone rejoices! Walt waves and yells goodbye to Vincent. Vincent swims out toward the raft but Walt commands him to go back. They hoist the sail. Michael is proud they did it.
Jin and Sun share a very long eye contact goodbye. There is lots of waving!

We get an ominous shot of the pillar of black smoke.

According to his conversation with Ana, Jack is not a "drinker", yet we know he drinks on the flight and asks Cindy for more alcohol. Not to mention we see he drinks in the “Flashes” -1/2 bottle of vodka in 'Do No Harm'.
What the hell is the deal with Vincent?!
Hasn't Jack, Sayid and Hurley been to the dark territory already? In 'Numbers' they go to Danielle's for a battery. Was that near there?
Notice in a few episodes that people are there one moment and not the next! Vanished; Disappeared.

Vocabulary and Research…
* Exodus: Mass Departure.
- Exodus is the 2nd book of the Torah, Tanakh and the Old Testament.
* Mast(Hieroglyph) An Egyptian language triliteral.
* Mate-Friend-Pal-Buddy-Chum.
* If Artz name had an 's' instead of 'z' his name anagrams to Star. And in German Arzt translates to “Doctor’.

On this journey it seems that these lost and flawed people really need to find what they are looking for!

Special

Let's talk about LOST! Special.

Open eye.
Michael calls out looking for Walt.
Charlie walks up asking Michael if he’s seen Claire’s bags.
Michael-“Have you seen my son?”
Charlie- “You seen her bags?”
Michael- “Claire’s?”
Charlie- “Her luggage. It’s not been brought back here. No one seems to know what happened to it.”
Michael apologizes, he doesn’t know; he’s just looking for Walt. Charlie hasn’t seen Walt. Jack {Key around neck} walks up carrying firewood. Michael asks Jack if he’s seen his boy out there.
Jack says no, “He was at the caves.”
Michael shares Walt took his dog for a walk and he told him to stay close as usual.
Michael-“You listened to your old man when you were 10, right?”
Jack claims to have listened a little too well.
Hurley comes over to tell the two dudes he has a new tourney lined up. They’re playing for the last of the deodorant sticks, “You dogs up for some golf?”
Michael has to go find his kid. “If Walt shows up tell him I said stay here until I get back.”
Michael continues his search.
Hurley mentions to Jack that Michael seems to hate being a dad.
Jack-“Nah. It’s just…a lot of hard work.”
Michael continues calling out for Walt.
Hurley scoffs and says, “Nah. He hates it.”
“Walt!” Michael is pissed. He continues his search through the jungle.
{Flash Whoosh}

“This is the one.” Michael and Susan are in the store looking at baby cribs. He’s excited he’s found “My baby’s crib.”
Susan looks at the price tag and remarks it will look great in the alley they’ll be living in. “This is three months rent.”
Michael wants the best for this kid but Susan insists they can't afford this. Michael feels their baby in this crib is a happy kid. {Note the store has items corresponding to the island.}
Michael tells Susan he talked to Andy and he can send some work Michael’s way.
Susan-“Construction? What about your art?”
Michael assures her he’s not giving it up, just taking a break until she finishes law school. “Pass the bar, get hired by some fancy ass high paying law firm.”
He’ll get back to painting eventually. Meanwhile Susan can support him and Walt in the manner to which they soon will be accustomed. Michael wants to name him after his dad.
Susan- “Walter. Walter Lloyd.”
Michael- “Lloyd? Oh, all right. That's why you won't marry me. It's not that you think marriage is too prosaic; you just want him to have your last name.”
Susan- “Hey. You want me to agree to Walter or what?”
{Flash Whoosh}

In the jungle Locke hands Walt a knife.
Boone and Vincent {Collar/leash.} are watching.
Walt throws the knife at the tree and it doesn’t penetrate it.
Walt-“Man, I suck!”
Locke-“You can do better than that.”
Boone-“You might want to take it easy on him.” {On whom?}
Locke explains-"See this knot Walt…I want you to aim for it. Right here. Focus on it…alright? Picture it…in your mind's eye. You know what that is, the mind's eye?”
Walt knows it’s like a picture in your head.
Locke tells him to do it again but, See it. See it before you do it. Visualize the path. See it. See it.” {It's kind of like using the force, like a Jedi. Also note Locke touches Walt’s hand.}
Walt focuses. We get a shot of Vincent. Walt throws the knife and sticks his mark! Boone is impresses and Locke knew Walt had it in him.
Walt-“It was weird. I actually saw it in my mind or something, like it was real.”
Locke- “Who's to say it wasn’t?”
Michael comes upon them and he’s pissed! He takes the knife from Walt and tells him to take Vincent and go back to camp now.
Michael- “You gave my boy a knife.”
Locke- “You should’ve seen what…”
Michael-“Don’t tell me what I should’ve seen, man! We were back home I’d call the police on your ass! Encouraging a kid to sneak away from his parent, giving him a knife like this!”
Locke- “Walt knows his own mind.”
Michael pulls the knife on Locke. “Ah, don’t talk to me about my son like you know him.” Locke needs Michael to calm down.
Michael-“You keep playing my son against me…and I’m gonna have a p…”
Boone tackles Michael and holds the knife to him, “The man said calm down.”
Michael punches Boone and says, “What are you his attack dog?”
Michael was the one waving the knife around and Boone was just trying to make sure Michael didn’t hurt someone.
Locke knows it’s been difficult for Michael to bond with his son. “You know why he’s formed an attachment to me? Cause I treat him like an adult and you still treat him like a boy.”
Michael- “He’s 10 years old!”
Locke says he’s been through more than most people in their entire lifetimes and Michael hasn’t spent enough time with him to see it, “He’s different.”
Michael (concerned)-"What did you say?" {Did Michael realize Locke is on to the wonders of Walt?! Maybe he realized at that moment Walt and Locke share something. Maybe Michael realized where he really is and what's going on. I think it's at that moment Michael realizes he has to make that raft; he's got get Walt off the island!}
Locke-“And we’re not back home, Michael. As long as we're here I think Walt should be allowed to realize his potential.”
Michael warns Locke to stay away from him and his son. {This scene was very important!}

{Note the huge painting is heads.}
You’re not taking him.” Toddler Walt plays on the floor with Michael. {Does he have Legos?}

Michael tells Susan she can go if she wants too but she’s not taking his son. Susan wants to take Walt to Amsterdam. She's got a great job offer and is leaving with him. Michael thought her position with the legal clinic was a good fit. This is offer is a huge opportunity for her as she’s always wanted to do international law. Susan says that she loves Michael but they need time apart. Michael knows they’ve talked about a lot of things, “You said you wanted to live on a boat.”
Susan mentions they’ve been through so much in such a short time. Michael understands they’ve got problems; he down with going to counseling. Susan had already made up her mind and took it; after all he hasn’t worked in months. Michael had already told her construction slows in the winter. But Susan knows she is the one who can provide for Walt. Michael doesn’t want to be away from Walt; there are laws against this kind of thing. Susan already knows the courts would side with her.
The two are not married. Susan says it’s not goodbye forever; she just needs some time. Michael is getting emotional.
{Flash Whoosh}
Walt is sleeping. {With his hand on his head} Michael watches him. Sun asks Michael if he’s alright.
Michael-"I just don't know how to talk to him, how to get him to understand, I’m on his side.    Locke says I should stop treating him like a child. I missed his whole childhood, so…This can’t happen…He can’t grow up here….Can’t grown up in this place.” {He can’t talk to Walt but he can communicate with Sun- a woman who is supposed to be speaking Korean.}

“Once I realized these equations were coordinates latitude and longitude, I assumed the French woman was trying to determine the location of the island. But it was incomplete; her notations fragmented.”

Shannon- “Except for the fish song.” {Is the fish song not nonsense?!}
Jack- “The what?”
No one explains the fish song to Jack.
Sayid just continues on with, “But when I lay the pages down like this I realized it wasn’t showing the location of the island…I think it’s a location on the island, specifically here…”
Jack asks where they are in relation to the triangle. Sayid admits the map in not in scale so he doesn’t know.
Jack states they’re not even sure it’s a map of this Island. Sayid admits they’re not sure but thinks it this may be the transmitter sending out the distress call and its power source.
Michael wonders what they’re doing now. “Looking for an excuse to get chased down and killed by whatever lives in the jungle?”
Michael feels they can’t keep doing this; building water filtration systems and playing golf, making a sweet little home here. “We need to get off this Island.”
Shannon-“You think any of us want to be here?”
Michael says no and that no one wants to get off this island as badly as he does right now.
Michael suggests building a raft because “No one’s coming.” He feels they can use the seats from the fuselage, ax, a whole bunch of trees; bamboo.
Sayid thinks the chances of surviving the rough waters, the odds of finding a shipping lane and Shannon’s seasickness would make this a waste of time.   Michael sarcastically tells them to stay there, grow old together, “Good luck to ya. But I’m doing this. My son and I are leaving.”

 In the caves Walt is reading the Spanish version of the comic The Green Lantern and Flash- Faster Friends. Vincent is at his side.
Walt is sounding out the Spanish words. Michael wants Walt to help him with something but Walt wants to enjoy the comic. Michael remarks Walt is reading a comic book in Spanish but doesn’t speak Spanish. Walt likes the pictures. Michael is intrigued Walt likes the art. Michael shares with his son that when he was a little older than Walt he used to trace comic books. “Taught myself about perspective, you know what that is? Perspective?”
Walt doesn’t even acknowledge dad so dad grabs the comic from him. He needs Walt’s help and needs him to go with him; because he sees what happens when he doesn’t keep an eye on him.
{Flash Whoosh-Sounds like a train.}
Michael is talking to Susan on a pay phone in New York City. He wants to talk to 21 month old Walt. Susan comments Walt doesn’t use the phone.
Michael will do all the talking, “I just want him to hear my voice. I miss him.” {Two pay phones}
Michael hears Susan say to someone on the other end of the phone say “Shhhh. It’s Michael.”
Susan tells Michael it’s not a good time to talk but Michael is ultimately informed by Susan she’s been seeing Brian Porter; the guy who hired her.
Michael feels she lied when she said she needed time to think about “us”. She says it wasn’t like that. Michael is pissed off, “I’m coming to Amsterdam.”
Susan doesn't want him to because it’s over between them.
Michael yells-“I’m not coming for you! I’m coming for Walt! I’m getting my son back!” Michael slams the phone down, crosses the street and gets hit by a car.

Kate walks over to chat with Charlie on the beach. He is going through Claire’s things/bags, Who brought them here?
Kate- “I did.”
Charlie is looking for Claire’s diary. She kept a diary in the side pocket.
Charlie-“Someone’s taken it.”
“What are we looking for again?” asks Walt. Michael needs any long piece of metal or long tubing, anything that looks like it would work as a frame.
Walt- “A frame for what?"
Michael- “You’ll see soon enough.”
They look through the wreckage as Michael instructs Walt to separate the cushions, the plastic, the tarp, “Put everything you find in different piles so we can take stock.”
Walt-“Am I being punished?”
Michael feels,This is us taking control of our destiny.”
Walt-“Feels like punishment.”

Kate and Charlie head over to Sawyer’s tent. He doesn’t answer the call at the tent door so Charlie says, “I can just go inside…”
Sawyer- “Trick or treat.”
Sawyer is sitting a few feet away.
When something goes missing they figure it’s got to be Sawyer who took it.
Kate asks if he has the diary or not. Just like a magician he presents a diary, “You mean this one?”
Charlie wants it. Sawyer doesn’t think that’s a good idea because maybe Missy Claire doesn’t want Charlie to read it.
Charlie-“I wasn’t gonna read it.”
Sawyer wonders if Charlie’s curious about what she wrote about him. Sawyer mentions “good literature is kinda scarce around here.”
They assume Sawyer read the diary.
Sawyer reads a passage aloud. “Dear Diary. I’m getting really freaked out by that has-been pop star. I think he’s stalking me.”
He reads on- “Diary, the little limy runt just won't let up.”
Charlie punches him in his bicep wound, knocking the diary away.
Charlie acquires the diary.
Sawyer punches Charlie in the face. Charlie feels he hits like a ponce. Kate stops them from really getting into it. Charlie walks away.
Kate asks Sawyer if he really read it. Sawyer just hadn’t gotten around to it yet.

Walt is listening” to something. Distant voices become clearer.
Michael rummages through the wreckage. Walt gets excited when he sees Locke and Boone emerge from the jungle and head into the caves. Michael never even notices them. {Locke is eating something.} Walt tells his focused dad he’s going to get some water. Michael would like Walt to bring him some. Walt doesn't acknowledge him at all.
Michael-“Please and thank you. Gotta work on that.”
Dad is displeased with Walt’s lack of manners.

In the cave Shannon wonders if Boone and Locke are just going to keep coming back without any food.
Boone is disconnected from her. Shannon wants to know what’s going on with him, “Could you be acting any weirder?”
Boone- “Shannon. You’ve been a functioning bulimic since Jr. High. I thought you’d be excited about dropping a size or two.”
Shannon feels since Boone isn’t having any luck hunting maybe he should help Michael build the raft. She was thinking maybe she should help Michael so she can finally get the hell out of there. “Why don’t you help me?”
Unimpressed Boone replies, “No thanks.”
Locke is going through his silver case and Walt walks over to him.
Locke- “Your father doesn’t want us spending time together.”
Walt feels dad isn’t the boss of him. Locke tells the child, “But he’s your father. And he cares about you and you need to show him respect. Now I’m serious Walt. You’re not to come to me anymore.”
Just then Michael enters and he is pissed!
“Damn it! What is wrong with you?!”
Locke-“I was just coming to see…”
Michael told Locke to stay away from his son. Walt tries to interject but Michael doesn’t want to hear from him.

Locke- “I was just giving him this pencil to give to you. I thought you could use it. Consider it a peace offering.”
{Pen or pencil?}
Michael quietly speaks in Locke’s ear. “I catch you with my son again…I’ll kill you.”

Locke picks up his silver case and walks away.
Walt calls Michael "a jerk!"
“Mr. Locke didn’t do anything wrong, he’s my friend.
Michael- “He’s not anymore. I’m looking out for you!”
Walt feels Michael doesn’t care about him and he never cared about him. “You only show up after my mom died. Where were you when I was growing up? Huh? NOWHERE!”
Michael-“Listen, Walt. It’s complicated.” {Remember that for later}
Walt doesn’t even care, “You’re not my father.” {That’s right.}
Michael- “You wanna hate me? You wanna punish me for something I can’t change? Fine. But you will listen to me.”
Michael throws the comic in the fire! He demands Walt “get over there. And you stay there. Now!”
Walt walks over by the waterfall and Vincent.
Michael looks at the burning comic book with the polar bear.
{Flash Whoosh}
Michael is drawing with a pencil.

He's been in a hospital for three months. His nurse never knew he had a kid. Michael explains he'll be two next week and lives in Amsterdam with his mom. Michael mentions he never knows what to write.
The nurse suggests a joke. “How about what's black, white and red all over?”
Michael guesses a newspaper.
Nope.
The nurse's answer is a penguin with a sunburn.
Nurse-"Trust me, mother of four talking here. He'll get a kick out it."
Susan comes to see him. She hadn't heard from Michael in two months, she had to call Andy to find out about the accident.
Michael- "Yeah, well considering how our last conversation went."
Susan tells him Walt is at home.
Susan pushes Michael in a wheelchair down the hallway. The nurses feel he will make a full recovery but Michael informs Susan he needs a year of physical therapy. Susan will cover all his medical expenses. She already spoke to the hospital administrator and all his bills will go to her.
Susan goes on to reveal she is going to marry Brian, he wants to adopt Walt and they will move to Italy at the end of the month. Brian is taking over the firm's Rome office.
Michael- "You're kidding me right?"
Susan- "Consider what's best for Walt. You can keep holding on if you want, but ask yourself why you're doing that. Is it really for him? Or is it for you?" {I find this line to be very telling! Are we NOT talking about a child here? Or are we talking about my Darth Vader action figure that I've been holding on to since I'm a kid? lol}
{Flash Whoosh}
Hurley walks up to Michael and says -"Uh, dude. You're kid is gone."
Walt just grabbed the dog and took off.
Michael knows where he's gone.

Locke is sharpening his knife.
Michael asks Locke where he is, "I'm not in the mood for your games, man. Where's Walt?"
Locke tells him Walt's not here but Michael thinks he's lying.
Boone-"Hey man. He's not here. Look around."
Well, Michael wasn't talking to Boone.
Locke- "I told him this morning that he couldn't be around me anymore. Trying to respect your wishes." They realize Walt is gone.
Locke tells Michael "Let's go find your boy."

Kate and Charlie arrive at the caves with Claire's bags. Charlie feels Kate didn't really have to help, "I could have managed. I've had my share of manly encounters."
Kate thought he could use the company.
Charlie tells Kate "It's weird. I barely knew her...barely know her, Claire. She's missing over a week. Everyday she's gone it feels like bits of me are crumbling or something.
Kate thinks its right he keep her stuff safe until she gets back. Kate touches Charlie's leg and leaves.
Charlie retrieves Claire's blue diary and contemplates a peek. He's so tempted that he picks it up and puts it down a few times before thumbing through the pages. He fights temptation and puts the diary back in the bag, zips it up and walks away from it.

Walt walks Vincent through the jungle. {On a red leash} Something "growls".
The dog barks and Walt looks around because they hear something walking through the jungle. Walt doesn't see anything just hears it. Vincent starts freaking as if he sees something and Walt asks him what's wrong. Vincent runs off, breaking the collar and leash off of him! {Why doesn't the damn dog stay? Did somebody/something call him away? I would think a good, loyal dog would protect its family} Walt drops the collar and leash to run after Vincent.
{Flash Whoosh}
Walt is lying on the floor staring at Vincent, although it could appear as if he's "listening" to him.
Susan is telling Brian about someone who is "trying to weasel his way out anything not to let the case move forward. He was arguing it wasn't his jurisdiction."
Brian- "Oh, you're kidding me."
Susan- “I wish I was. Same argument third time in a row. Barkley said it was an immigration issue."
Brain- "Barkley, that's classic."
Susan- "He thinks because I'm new to Australian law that I'm some kind of yokel or something"
Susan wants Walt to do get back to his homework. Walt told her he needs help. Mom the lawyer can tell when someone's stalling.
Susan and Brian are distracted in their own conversation and not paying attention to Walt. {There is a blue binder near Walt and he holds a pencil}
Walt asks "Who cares about birds of Australia, anyway? We're in Australia."
Brian asks Susan if she's okay. Susan admits she's feeling kind of flu-ey
Walt- "Shouldn't we be studying birds of Egypt or something?
Brian- "You haven't been sleeping much lately. Maybe you need to take a personal day."
Walt just continues talking about the bird he picked; the Bronze Cuckoo. It's funny. Wanna see?
Susan asks Brian what about Barkley?
Walt continues on- "I mean, it doesn't look funny, just the name"
Susan- "Sleeping in late that's too much. . ." {The nanny is sitting in the room.}
Walt is getting annoyed; tries to get Brian's attention-"Hey, Brian, look, look. You're not looking. You're not looking." {We hear bird chips and wings flutter.}
All of a sudden a bird flies in to the closed glass door. Walt wonders if it's dead. Brian says it is and just looks at Walt. Walt isn't really fazed by the bird incident; he just goes back to reading his bird book.
{Flash Whoosh}
Walt is alone in the jungle calling out for Vincent. We can hear noises of something moving around in the jungle. The sound of low growls is heard.

Brian Porter knocks on Michael's door. {Peephole} The men seem to not know each other. Brian breaks the news to him about Susan's death-YESTERDAY! {She dies yesterday, in Australia, he files all the way to N.Y. to see Michael and leaves Walt with the nanny...WOW!!}
Turns out Susan had a blood disorder and was sick for one week. Apparently Michael hadn't talked to her in a while. Brian informs him before Susan died she wanted Michael to have custody of Walt. Michael seems surprised at this and feels he hasn't been his father in nine years. Brian goes on about how he didn't want to be a father; he didn't know how. Brian presents a yellow envelope containing money for travel expenses, two tickets; 1 round trip, 1 one way, so Michael can go and get Walt. Michael feels the idea for Michael to have custody is really Brian's idea and not Susan's.
Brian's a wreck right now, he just lost the woman he loves and he can't be Walt's father, he's not his son.
Brian tells him there's something about him. Sometimes when he's around things happen; he's different somehow.
{Flash Whoosh}
Michael finds Vincent's red collar and leash. He and Locke hear Walt yell for help. Locke points Michael in the direction to go.

Michael goes to Australia. The nanny mentions Walt will be home from school any minute. She also gives him a yellow envelope with some of Susan's effects and a box with cards/letters. The nanny thinks Walt should have it. She just walks away leaving him alone.

In the distance you can hear the nanny tell Walt someone is there to see him. Michael walks down a long hallway to Walt.

 Michael is running through the jungle, Walt is calling out for his dad's help and there are loud growls.
A polar bear is trying to claw his way into where Walt is hiding in the banyan trees. {This is the second time we see a polar bear.}
Locke stops Michael from just rushing over {actually covers his mouth, tells him to "shhhh" and directs them... "up here."

Walt plays with Vincent and a ball. {Wearing a vest.} The birds are singing.
Michael- "Hey Walt."
Walt- "Who are you?"
Michael tells Walt he's his father. {I know!! Walt looks at him like he has three fucking heads!} Michael shares that he and Susan loved it each very much when they had him. Walt asks where Brian is.
Michael- "He's not here."
Michael's there to bring you home with me."
Walt isn't going anywhere with him.
Michael- "I know this is really hard to understand all of this. See Brian... Brian loves you very much. And he wants you to stay with him, but it's not his choice. It's mine. I'm your legal guardian. And a, it's not like he's going to disappear from your life. He'll still call you, write to you, come to see you whenever he can. And you know, you'll still have your dog.
Walt- "But Vincent isn't mine. He's Brian's."
Michael- "Brian said you could have him."

The polar bear is trying to get to Walt. Michael calls out to Walt as he and Locke walk across a tree limb {like a tight rope walker} that allows them to pass over the polar bear action. Michael slips but Locke saves him!
Walt is crying as the bear continues to reach Walt. Michael tells Walt to hang in there. Michael climbs over to the tree with Walt. {What is with the white smoke there for a second?} Locke tosses Michael a knife to give to Walt for protection.
Walt stabs at the bear.
Michael wraps leafless vines around and yells up to Locke, "Okay, Locke now!"
Locke works hard to pull Walt out. The polar bear returns and Michael stabs him; the bear runs off. {Locke watches the bear run off.} Michael climbs up the tree and is reunited with Walt. They hug; everybody is happy! Michael is glad Walt is safe.
Walt is concerned that Vincent ran off again.
Locke- "He found his way back to you once, Walt. He will again." {Indeed}
Michael and Locke share a smile.

At night in the caves Michael gives Walt a present; every card and letter of the past eight years! {NOT 9 years}
Walt said he likes to look at pictures. Walt's never seen these before and wonders why his mom never gave them to him.
Michael feels although she didn't give them to him, she never threw them out either and that deep down she must have wanted him to have them. They both feel the "penguin" joke is dumb.

Charlie sits engrossed in Claire's blue diary. Something on the page gets his attention and he heads over to talk to Jack and Sayid. "You have to hear this." They're surprised he's reading her diary.
Charlie- "Yeah, I know, I'm bloody scum. Just listen to this. "I had that weird dream again the one with the black rock I can't get away from. I try to leave it but it won't let me."
Sayid -"Black rock?"
Jack-"It's just dreams, Charlie."
Charlie- "No, Sayid mentioned black rock before."
Sayid- "The French woman said something about her team returning from the black rock. The triangle on the map. Maybe it's the triangle on the map."
Charlie- "Maybe it's where Claire was taken. Maybe she's there?"
Jack-"Maybe. Charlie, we all want to find Claire, but there's no sense going out into the jungle in the middle of the night."

Locke is blowing into the whistle he made to 'call' Vincent. {We hear the high pitch whistle.}
Boone- "I don't think that whistles working, John."
Locke- "You can't hear everything, Boone. The sooner you learn that, the better."
There's a noise that Boone actually hears.
Boone whispers loudly, "Vincent. Vincent. Is that you?"
Locke readies his knife as they wait to see what's coming out of the jungle.
I guess the whistle it works on Claire too because she walks out of the jungle! {Damn Locke is good! Keep your eye on Locke.}
Locke- "Claire."

Special is a GREAT episode!! Just what is the tie or connection with Walt and Michael? What is his role? Is he really his father, biologically or as a figurehead? In name only? WHAT?! I feel that Michael may be more of a protector/guardian than a father.   Walt wasn't supposed to be Michael's and wasn't supposed to be with Michael.
So Walt is different. What does he share with Locke really?
Bottom line is Michael's got to get Walt off the “Island” before the shit hits the fan! I think Michael knows all about Walt and the "Island"! There, I said it!

Things to Note...Questions to ask...

* Brian Porter and Susan are a black and white couple. Vincent's leash is red.
* The bird that flew into the glass door doesn't really look like any of the birds in the book.
* Again be observant to when the "Flash Whoosh" is there and when it's not.

* I've been excited to talk about this, yet also afraid to talk about this. Reason being you all know I think outside the box with this show and I could be way out there on some things( I know that), but this could make me look like a fully fledged patient at Santa Rosa's! LOL!
The comic is in Spanish.
Let's talk about the basic idea/story of the comic. I have kept these clues as part of my thoughts since the first time I saw them.
I see many common elements between this comic book story and the "Island". MANY! Some of which I know you're going to say I'm nuts! But I see more than just the polar bear bearing a resemblance to our island.
We are shown an alien, the dome around land, bug, polar bear. Okay, that comic story/series is about two halves of a super hero (Flash and Green Lantern) put together to make a superior super hero. The old and new of both halves create the new being, a better world.; Two halves brought together to make a whole.

I'm paraphrasing here, but this is the idea: A reference to parallel earth, they want to mix a part of each reality to create a perfect world, and identity crisis.
The alien: The alien in the story comes to earth, and gets sick with cancer; they hide him away in a ship.
The dome: Could our island be in a "dome" or something "dome-like"? Something that is "containing" them?
Bug: Walt shows us the page with the bug on it. So does the "Island" have a bug?
Polar bear: Many have felt that the polar bear was manifested by Walt. Nope, I don't think so.
Besides that the "polar bears" were already there in that "environment".

Vocabulary and Research…
* Air Chief Marshal Sir Walter Lloyd Dawson KCB CBE DSO RAF (6 May 1902 – 1994) was a senior commander in the RAF in the 1950s. He was the last RAF commander in Palestine, before the creation of the State of Israel. He died in 1994.
* Crib- in cryptanalysis, is a known or suspected plaintext. The term originated at Bletchley Park, the British WWII decryption operation.
* The usage "crib" was adapted from a slang term referring to cheating— example: "I cribbed my answer from your test paper."
-A "crib" originally was a literal or interlinear translation of a foreign-language text — usually a Latin or Greek text — that students might be assigned to translate from the original language.
* Triangle- Trinity.
* In semantics: a triangle is the structure of every system composed with three reciprocally connected/interrelated abstract or real objects
*The phrase "mind's eye" refers to the human ability for visual perception, imagination, visualization, and memory.
*The Mind's I: Fantasies and reflections on self and soul is a 1981 book composed and arranged by Douglas R. Hofstadter and Daniel C. Dennett. It is a collection of essays and creations about the nature of the mind and the self, tied together with commentary by the editors.
-The Mind's Eye series consists of several art films rendered using computer generated imagery of varying levels of sophistication. The series began in 1990.
* New Amsterdam- was a 17th-century Dutch Colonial settlement that later became the city now known as New York City. Whenever the Dutch went to new places they would name each colony with the word "new".
* Stalling (gaming) obstruction of the flow of play while leading in a timed game.

You've heard me say many times before that we are given a clue and then it gets dropped for a while…then BAM! There it is again! This is not the last time we got a comic or super hero clue. Just wait, it comes back around.

Every single episode tells us to LOOK, SEE and LISTEN because answers are right in front of our eyes! I guess that's going to become my catch phrase. Also, answers are in their eyes.  So think about what could actually be going on in their “heads/minds”.

The comic book.....Is it a clue or just entertainment? I think it's a clue and for fun!  It’s Michael who stares at the burning comic book with the polar bear page showing.
I sometimes feel that there's a bit of "Mr. John Locke" in most of the centrics even when they're not "his". Weird, huh?

Perspective…it’s all about perspective.

Thanks for reading my blog and experiencing my LOSTNESS, as crazy as it can sometimes be. I really appreciate it. You guys ROCK!!

Love to all who are "LOST"™

Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right. The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either. You all know I hate spoilers, and I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Understood? Good. Let the fun begin!I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance. It will get very exciting as we progress into the story.
