Let’s talk about LOST! JI YEON…and Baby Makes…
I HAVEN’T RE-WATCHED. THESE ARE PRELIMINARY NOTES! I WILL DETAIL THIS EPISODE SOON!
An interesting episode with lots of questions!
I didn’t leave much here for you all I’m afraid. I’ve been trying to play catch up on everything, but please share your thoughts with me.
Things to note...Questions to ask...
* "Flashes"!!! WoooHoooo. Not in time order or just plain wrong.
It was easier to see this when they used two people for this example instead of me always trying to convince you that’s what’s going on. But there it was! Not only that, we're able to see the blurring, crossovers and connections as if things are layers right on top of each other.
* Time? Time Travel? Time line- If there are NO time travel issues, Sun is hanging out with Hurley and the infant around July-ish 2005. Now that would make my previous time line work, i.e. The Hunting Party, Tale of Two Cities, etc.,
But, If Jin’s marker/tombstone shows 9/22/04, how is Sun explaining the at least 6 week difference of seeing her husband last and conceiving? I’m just asking!
* Waaaaaaaaaaalt!!! Looks like Waaaaaalt could have written the damn note. It looks "child-like".
* Kevin Johnson. Michael.
* Regina reads a book upside down. That's bizarre. She jumps overboard wrapped in chains. Well, maybe she’s just going to an underwater hatch, lair or city. Maybe she is trying to kill herself…Why?
* What is going on with the ship that they are acting all freaky? They look like zombies/shit! They're killing themselves and others. Is it drug induced, withdrawal or hypnosis or not really happening? Or is there no other way out of a particular situation?
* Is someone/something making this happen?
* Expose. The Cobra. Someone is working for our cobra.
* Professional sailors getting "cabin fever". NOT. How long have they been sailing around for? Hmmm?
* The boat’s moving..."If you say it is."
* Sun really wanted to have her baby at home, so could this be a case of "If you say it is"? Meaning she wished that. I wonder...
* Proof of things being faked, on a GRAND scale! There it was!!!
* Dr Ray scares me!
* Dr. Bae. {Bay} Dr. Park. Hmmmmm.
* Juliet is Sun’s doctor! WTF? Juliet’s a tattle tale too. Hahaha. Like she has no friggin secrets!
* Jin’s "Flashes" had more Chinese and Japanese references in them.
* ORCHIDS ALL AROUND SUN.
* Sun is a good teacher. She’s the only one who ever really asks questions and demands answers. She delivers her baby alone with no family with her.
* Sun won’t remove her wedding ring during delivery. Is she still married to Jin? Maybe he’s gone. Or Jin could have stayed on the island and sent her back home to have the baby. Sun is afraid there’s something wrong with the baby.
* Black and white. Clothes, Panda Bear.
* Year of the dragon. February 5, 2000. January 23, 2012
* Dragon-Hydra.
* Captain Gault. He knows that Desmond knows who Charles Widmore is.
* Bugs. Cockroaches.
* Power Rangers. Action figures of morphing superheros.
* Desmond is way too comfortable taking off his shoes and catching some zzz’s. The note comes in the door/grill and he has Sayid get up and get it. WTF?! Get it yourself! Why make Sayid get it? Desmond didn’t even freak when he realized it was Widmore’s boat.
* Are any of them older than we think?
* Hurley is not in Santa Rosa! By the way, he looked very handsome!
* Bernard calls Locke a murderer. As I recall Bernard shot at dynamite and blew up the tent that KILLED a few Others! Many of them can be considered murderers.
* Special people. Locke, Rose, Hurley. Walt, Sun….
* Blood.
Vocabulary and Research...

Many movies have been made, telling the story of alien, bugs morphing into people, killing people, taking over the world. Movies like Mimic, Men in Black and Starship Troopers.
* The Gault Clay is a formation of stiff blue clay deposited in a calm, fairly deep water marine environment during the Lower Cretaceous Period.
I really enjoyed this episode. We were re-visited by a few important clues of episodes past.
Walt and Michael, Rose’s cancer, sickness, blood, babies, birth. We need to keep these clues nearby.
Of course remember..."We have to go back!"
This was a great episode. I cried. Jin and Sun truly love each other.

Connect Four
PLEASE NOTE the following notes were posted on MySpace Feb 8, 2008.
Let's talk about LOST! Connect Four.
THIS IS NOT MY USUAL DETAILED EPISODE POST. I WILL DETAIL THIS EPISODE IN ORDER OF ALL EPISODES.
I have not re-watched to detail this episode yet. These are a few things that stuck out to me and things we need to think about. I'll build upon them with my upcoming research.
Here are just some quick thoughts on 4-2 Confirmed Dead.
I'm excited that clues I've pointed out in this little blog have begun to show their points. A few are plates, under, underwater, faked, etc… I'm sure the clues will continue on with the rest of our story!
* The discovery of an Oceanic plane deep underwater in the Sunda Trench off Bali.
* There are dead bodies on board this crashed/sunken plane.
* This wreck is claimed to be Oceanic flight 815.
* Two ROV's were sent down under the water while on a quest to find the Black Rock.
* The boat this little crew sailed on is called The Christian 1. This information was witnessed in this episode, but was also learned the last day of the ARG Find815.
* The 888-548-0034 number was given out during the game as well.
In this episode, we're introduced to 4 people:
Daniel: He has a very peculiar personality and I noticed a bit of odd behavior.
In one of the ARG's, 'The LOST Experience', we learned about savants being used for certain study and contributions to working study/projects. I can't help but wonder if it's with Daniel that we start getting that information/connection. Maybe he was able to figure something out. Of course I'm not sure. We'll just have to take this info and see how it plays out.
I note that when Daniel is on the SAT phone, whomever he's talking to doesn't want to be on speaker phone. Let the secrets continue!
Miles: Doesn't want anyone to know his last name. WOW! Why? Who is he related to? He "can" 'communicate' with the dead and he charges a customer $200 for his services. By the way the room he worked in had imagery connecting to the "Island".
Charlotte: She is in Tunisia for a dig that reveals Dharma Polar Bear and its collar. She's not surprised! She apparently has to read the same headline in many different languages. The psychic's daughter in Australia had a daughter named Charlotte too.
C.S. Lewis connection…I guess we're in Narnia! lol
Frank Lapidus: An Oceanic airline pilot turned beach bum? WTF? He says he was supposed to pilot that flight. He also says the image on the TV of the 'dead' pilot isn't Seth Norris. His clue-no wedding ring. I did note on top of his old TV he has a replica helicopter, 2004 map and Activities brochure, dolphin cruise. Frank says he studied the manifest.
I noted in another blog post that in the EXPOSE script, the cast list showed a Rick Lapidus. So Frank does indeed have a connection to everything!
Naomi: Has a meeting with Abaddon in a vacant office space. He has files and pictures of the 4 recruits. Naomi is troubled that these 4 hold no qualifications to be involved in a high risk, covert operation in unstable territory. So, why would these 4 be recruited for such a 'job'? Because they have to be! Naomi comments about running into the survivors. Abaddon emphatically tells her there are no survivors! I guess if you repeat a lie over and over it will become believable!
Ben: Is he really a member of society in the "outside world"? Ben claims to have someone on her boat. So with Intel like that wouldn't Ben have known they were coming all along? Besides, who is this person he mentions? Why are they looking for Ben? Could Ben have a twin/replica? I'm just asking!!
The 4 new arrivals to the "Island" have a picture of what appears to be Ben, circa late 70's early 80's. But when Naomi arrived she had a picture of Desmond; That's who she said she was looking for.
Ben shoots Charlotte; who is wearing a bullet proof vest. Ben is wearing a vest in the picture they have of him. In EXPOSE Howard makes reference to bullet proof vest to Nikki.
Daniel comments on the "lighting" {Light scattering} being different on the "Island".
Juliet- a "native". Hehehe. Who else? Wink, wink!
Why do the 4 have gas masks? Another purge perhaps?
Vincent.
Locke comments that Ben shot him. The bullet went in one side and came out the other. If he had a kidney he'd be dead.
The helicopter people bail out due to the copter going down; Yet Frank lands it.
Mirrors.
Cow. Moo!
Waking up.
Things being faked. Tricks. Manipulated, etc.

We still have imagery "off Island" that connects to the "Island".
I LOVE a good Star Wars reference! Wooohooo!
If we use the 'Connect 4' metaphor, could it be about connecting these four new arrivals to the rest of the 'Islanders'; Or four more pawns in the chess game?
The whole finding the "Island" thing: Okay, the incident when the sky turns purple seems to be the turning point for many things. If the "Island" and surrounding area is hidden by a 'dome effect' covering of magnetic energy, the incident disrupted the 'covering effect' long enough for the "Island" to be detected. But if the "Island" is covered by this magnetic field, maybe that's the exact reason 'time' is an issue there. Couldn't that magnetic power/properties cause 'time' to just run very, very slow there or is it time is totally irrelevant there, except for a countdown timer?
So there's Locke asking Ben questions…about the Smoke Monster. HA!!!
Two very, very important things to note here is -To see how things have shifted on the "Island". Ben's people are gone and are most likely at the temple. But Jack has his people in hiding, armed, ready to defend! Also, Ben now knows that Hurley as well as Locke can see Jacob/cabin! HOLY SHIT!
Well Losties, without me digging deep and detailing yet, I hope I gave you enough clues and info to get started.
I've said all along, people aren't who we think they are. A few in more way than one! Things are not what they seem.

The Long Con.
Let's talk about LOST! The Long Con.
Locke opens the door to the armory for Jack. Inside the stocked armory Jack's takes inventory of their 6 guns and 1 box of ammo from the silver case.
Locke feels it’s good that they don’t have to worry about them running out anytime soon, {because they never run out of anything, the island always gives them what they need} and he’s grateful Jack decided to keep em all in the same place.
Jack notes seven Virgin Mary statues.
Locke explains he took them from Charlie, his heroin stash; he figured they might have therapeutic value (if it ever came to that).
Jack asks if he's going to leave it all in the statues.
Locke won't break them open because he's superstitious.
Jack needs the combination.
Locke-“I'm willing to go ahead and assume that you're asking me because you're worried that I might fall off a cliff or something. That it would be irresponsible for just one of us to have access to this room, rather than this being an issue of trust.”
Jack-“Well, there are a lot of cliffs on this island, John.
Locke-“Alright. But I think we should agree, Jack, that if either of us need to open this door, we consult each other first.
Jack agrees and takes off his key from around his neck and hangs it in the armory
Locke reluctantly gives it. Right 7, Left 33, Right 18.
Jack doesn't need to write it down. {He didn't need to write down the computer code either. He's got 'Super Memory’}
Locke suggests they lock the medicine in there too. Jack wonders why he would need to do that.
Sawyer emerges from the water and remarks about Charlie {building a tent} having to relocate to the suburbs because Claire kicked him out.
Sawyer-“She gets to keep the house and you get the cheap ass apartment. Man, I thought these people hated me, but I've got to hand it to you...stealing a baby, trying to drown it... now, that's a new low. You even made Locke take a swing at ya. Hell, that's like getting Gandhi to beat his kids.“ {WTF? Trying to drown it?!}
Charlie-“Shouldn't you be more worried about Jack ransacking your tent right now?“
Pissed off Sawyer marches over to his tent and demands to know what the hell Jack is doing.
Jack accuses him of stealing meds from the hatch and Sawyer accuses Jack of stealing from him.
Sawyer-“They were in my stash when I left. I just took back what was mine.”
Jack-“These belong to all of us, Sawyer, to the group. You don't have a stash anymore.”
Sawyer-“Seriously, Doc, you don't want to do this. Just give me the pills. We'll forget it ever happened.
Jack-“Are you threatening me?"
Sawyer- Last chance, Doc.”
Jack takes the pop top pill bottle and walks away. {Medicine never seems to run out either}.
Sawyer is pissed, but he’s still cute!
{Flash Whoosh}
Sawyer is in bed with Cassidy. {A loud dog barks in the background}
Cassidy’s only want right now is Sawyer. As they kiss he looks at the clock and fears he’s going to be late for the meeting he’s told her about. Cassidy cutely tells him if he’s got another date he can just say so. Sawyer can only wrap his mind around one woman at a time. He grabs his suitcase.
Sawyer- "Back in a flash gorgeous. {money falls out of the case just like the con we've seen him use before} You weren’t exactly supposed to see that.”
Cassidy laughs, asking if he’s serious, "You just happen to have a suitcase full of cash? You got to pick it up and the lock happens to break? {She looks through a stack of cash} It's not even real!"
There's cut up newspaper in between the cash cash.
Cassidy-“Are you trying to con me? What? I ask you what all the money's for and you do some song and dance about an investment or something? And then I say, ‘Oh, hey, I've got some money’."
Sawyer-“Look, you got me. Good for you. No harm, no foul.”
Cassidy-“You should have done your homework. I didn't take anything from him in the divorce. I'm not even worth your trouble.”
Sawyer-“Well, shame on me.”
Cassidy wants to learn, "Show me what you do. What you really do….Show me how to con people, Sawyer."
{Flash Whoosh}
At the beach, Kate checks out Sawyers cleaning up his ransacked tent. She heard Jack took his pain killers. Sawyer tells her that he and the doc are on the outs, "One less Christmas card I'll have to send this year". {That's right, this year nobody is sending a Christmas card! HA!}
Kate knows how hard up he is for reading material so she brings him a magazine {Elegant} from the hatch to cheer him up. The magazine is old and he lost his glasses on the raft; he asks her to read to him. Kate laughs.
Sawyer-“What? You got an appointment or something?”
Kate finds a page and begins-"10 Ways to Tell If He's a Sensitive Man".
Locke walks by with bananas and mangos and says “Morning” to them. Sawyer feels Locke’s a sensitive man; he has needs like everyone else. {HAHAHA!}
Claire asked Locke to sleep down here but Sawyer sees that as something else. Kate knows not everyone is like Sawyer.
Sawyer-“I guess that's why old Jacko and Ana-Lulu didn't ask me to join their revolution. {Kate is surprised} What, you didn't hear about their little army? I guess I'm not the only one on the outs with the Doc.”
Sayid is working on cracking coconuts. Hurley walk over and asks, ”Hey, man. You gonna put the lime in the coconut, drink 'em both up? {Sayid doesn't respond.} Lime in the coconut? The song?“
Sayid-“What do you want, Hurley?”
Hurley-“So, I'm over at Rose and Bernard's tent. Did you know he's a dentist? Well, that's not all he's been holding out on us. The guy picked up Boone's signal from the Norwegian plane.”
Unimpressed Sayid corrects him,”Nigerian.”
Hurley-“Right.”
Hurley shows Sayid what Bernard picked it up with; a glorified walkie talkie, short wave radio. Hurley wonders if Sayid could switch the blue wire with the red wire, make it stronger.
Sayid-“We tried to send a signal with the plane's transceiver and all we got was the French woman's message on a loop. Why would I bother?”
Hurley-“Come on, man, I mean, it's worth...”
Sayid-“It's worth nothing. It's a waste of time.”
Hurley-“Just trying to cheer you up, dude.”
Sayid-“I don't need cheering up.”
Hurley leaves the radio with him anyway. {Does Hurley know about a Norwegian plane?}
Ana catches up to Jack in the jungle; she tries to get his attention more than once. {I don't trust Ana, she's a Tailie damn it!} Ana asks Jack if he got the combo? Jack nods yes.
Ana- "Nice. I didn't think it’d be that easy convincing your pal to give it up. That's the nice thing about you people… you're not scared enough. {Jack wonders, “Not scared enough”}
Same reason we can't talk anyone into joining the army. Everyone around here actually thinks they're... safe.”
Jack- "Trust me, Ana. No one thinks we're safe." {Watch her closely!}
Ana-“What’s the combo?”
He doesn't tell her even though she claims to have been kidding about inquiring.
{What is she up to? Who's side is she on? What's her plan?}
Thunder rolls.
Sun is gardening and she hears noises in the jungle. It's Vincent!!! {Dog has no collar} She asks him what he's doing out there. Happy Sun says something in Korean and Vincent heads back into the jungle.
Thunder rolls and it starts to rain on Sun and her garden. She doesn’t mind the rain. A black hood is put over her head, her hands are tied and she is dragged off into the jungle kicking and screaming. Sun is kidnapped!
It is pouring rain on the beach. Sawyer invites Freckles into his tent to get out of the rain but she likes the rain. {Locke likes the rain too.} Sawyer likes it too {from under here} but he pulls her by the arm into his tent. They hear screams and Kate proclaims, “That’s Sun.”
They run through the jungle and find her unconscious but breathing. Sawyer tells Kate to go get Jack. Sun has a head injury.
Sawyer carries Sun through the camp and gets her to Jack. Jack asks if she was conscious at all and did she say anything.
Sawyer-“No. Not a word.”
Jin sees Sun and is very upset. Jack tries to tell him she’s ok, “You need to let me take care of her.”
Sawyer tells Jack, “I heard her scream. Found her out in the jungle about a half a click from here...”
Kate cuts him off - “She was out cold and her hands were tied.”
Jack-“What do you mean, her hands were tied?”
Ana proclaims “They're back."
Jack, Ana, Locke, Kate, Sawyer have a pow wow. Locke reminds Jack that the Other’s said they would leave them alone. Kate tells Ana she
found Sun just outside her garden.
Ana-"We should take a look around, with guns."
Locke says “No.”
He suggests if they arm up they’re just as likely to shoot each other as we are one of them.”
Jack says they'll wait for Sun to wake up, she’ll tell them what happened, “Then we’re gonna do something about it.”
Locke says that sounds like a plan. Kate and Sawyer look suspiciously at Ana.{Who is it that Ana needs to arm up against? She knows what side she's on! To bad not all of them realize what side she's on.}
In the jungle, Kate and Sawyer are looking around where they found Sun for clues.
Kate- "They usually don't leave any trail".
Sawyer asks her if this scenario makes any sense. “First off, how'd she get away? The woman doesn't weigh 100 pounds soaking wet.”
Kate feels she was fighting for her life. “People are capable of almost anything...”
Sawyer-“You couldn't get away. You versus Sun hot oil death match... my money's on you, Sheena.”
Kate thanks for his vote of confidence.
They find a hood.
Kate says it's just like the one they put over her head.
Sawyer-“No it's not. This one's black different weave. It's all in the details...and they're wrong.” {YEP! That's what I've been saying!}
Kate wonders if it wasn’t “them” then who? “What are you saying, one of us did it? Who the hell would want to go after Sun?”
Sawyer-“Not much upside to scaring the crap out of 46 people…unless you're trying to con them into joining an army.”
{Flash Whoosh}
Left handed Sawyer marking fake prices on fake necklaces. Cassidy will help with this con. Sawyer teaches her the “Jewelry con”.
Cassidy fears them getting caught and notes the necklaces and remarks even a 5 year old could tell those weren't real. But Sawyer explains they won't be looking at the necklaces, they'll be looking at the price tags "It's all in the details, Dimples."
Sawyer is in a costume of sorts, band aide, army jacket, staged to look like he was in a bar fight. Here at Eric's Expert Service station they con two guys into buying necklaces.
{Gas price $171.9 lol!} Mission accomplished!
{Flash Whoosh}
Back at the beach, Jack uses his watch to check Sun’s pulse.
He informs Jin that Sun is OK; her pulse is good and strong. “You just need to watch her.” {He used hand gestures/communication to relay the info.}
Jin holds Sun’s hand while watching over her.
As Jack makes his way over to the water trough, Kate asks how about Sun’s bump on her head, “Do you think she fell or did someone hit her?”
Jack doesn’t know. {Fills up bottle}
Kate also wonders how well he knows Ana Lucia and suggests that maybe Ana kidnapped Sun. "The Other's...I was out there with you...heard that man say if we stayed away they'd leave us alone. And we've left them alone. So why would they attack us a few days later?”
Jack-“If it wasn't them then who was it?”
Kate asks again, “How well do you know Ana Lucia?”
Jack walks away from her but he shakes his head in a kind of disbelief.
Ana recruits the big guy who lives behind Sayid and Scott to join up. Jack corrects her, it's not Scott, its Steve. {lol}
Ana doesn’t really care, “Scott, Steve...the point is, after what happened people are finally willing to do something.”
Jack questions Ana, where was she during the rainstorm. Ana’s first reply to him is “Lots of places.” {LOTS!}
She realizes Jack thinks she may have something to do with Sun getting grabbed and asks, “Now where would you get an idea like that?”
Claire {with Aaron} calls out to Jack to announce that Sun’s awake.
Jack runs over to check on Sun.
Jack- “Hey. How's your head? Any pain, dizziness?”
Sun-“Just a little bit.”
Jack-“Do you remember anything?”
Sun recalls working in her garden then Vincent ran up, it started raining and there was a bag over her head and she was being dragged.
Jack-“How many were there?”
Sun-“I don’t...I didn’t see anything.”
Upset Jin says something in Korean and Sun replies in Korean.
Sun-“I kicked and I fought, and I just ran as fast as I could and then I fell...”
Jin's fired up and ranting in Korean. He turns to Jack and demands a…Let's say it together...Gun!
Sawyer sits in his front row seat far away enough from the action at Sun’s tent, observing it all.
Kate comes over and asks what’s going on.
Sawyer-“It looks like the good folks of Island Town are about to form a posse. Get themselves armed up. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Jack didn't find that horse of yours and start leading the charge in a big white hat.”
Ana and Kate share a LOOK! {Check that out!}
Kate figures that this is all a play for Ana to get her hands on the guns!
Kate-“Locke. You need to go and tell him that they're coming!” {Who?}
Sawyer-“I need to tell em?!”
Kate begs him.
{Flash Whoosh}
OMG, Hot Sawyer in a towel, brushing his teeth. Look at all mirrors {Looking glass, all reflecting Sawyer}
Cassidy asks what’s the "next play?"
They've already done the pigeon drop, twice, and the Tulsa Bag Scam, and the LookyLoo . {Look at all those clues!!!}
Cassidy wants to do a “Big Con” and Sawyer corrects her and explains {While he’s brushing his teeth} how a Long Con works “It works by getting someone to ask you to do something like it's their idea, but it's not their idea, it's your idea. But none of that matters because the one thing you need for the long con we ain't got...money.”
Cassidy admits she lied about the divorce money.
Sawyer-“Cassidy, 40 grand in some mutual fund ain't money.”
Cassidy-“Remember what I told you, that I didn't get anything from the divorce?” {Well guess fucking what??? She lied! She got $600,000! {Obviously, she can con too!}
Sawyer-“Well, hell baby, with kind of money let's go find an island somewhere and sit on a beach drinking Mojitos 'til we go toes up.”
Cassidy-“Sawyer, for the first time in my life I'm actually happy. And it's not really about the action and the money. It's about doing this with you. Come on, one long con? And then the mojitos.”
Sawyer will think about it...in the shower.
In the hatch Locke is pulling books off the bookshelf looking for something in them; he actually fans through the pages. Sawyer asks what he’s doing and Locke tells Sawyer he's alphabetizing as he piles books on top of the Ping Pong table. {What is Locke looking for that he knows may be hidden in a book? Hmm?}
They call each other by their 'real' names.
Sawyer-“Oh, sure. Sun gets attacked in the jungle and you figure it's a good time to start the damn Dewey decimal system. Good thinking.”
Locke-“How can I help you, James?”
Sawyer-“Well, actually, John, I'm here to help you, give you the heads-up."
Locke-“Heads-up?”
Sawyer- Seems Jack's on his way over here to open your little gun closet and take whatever he needs. You should know he's not alone. The whole camp's pretty shook up about what happened to Tokyo Rose. I 'm guessing everybody's going to want to play Cowboys and Indians. And once those guns are out and about...something tells me they ain't never going back in.”
Locke-“Why are you telling me this?”
Sawyer-“Because it'll piss off Jack. If I were you, I'd change that combination, pronto.”
Locke-“But that won't work. The door will just slow him down. If Jack wants to get in, he'll get in. Will you help me?”
Sawyer-“Help you what?”
Locke-“Move the guns.”
Sawyer-“Move them where? {Locke doesn't answer} Fine, you don't want to trust me… lots of luck.”
Locke-“But I can't leave the Hatch unmanned.
Sawyer-“Sure, you move the guns and I'll stay here and push your damn button for you.”
Locke-“How long 'til they get here?”
Sawyer-“Well, that ain't my problem, Hoss. It's yours.”
{Flash Whoosh}
Sawyer is in a diner. Diane, Kate's mother serves him beer. {Another diner for Diane?} Gordy {orders a chicken salad sandwich, and is wearing an ugly plaid shirt, LOL} wants Sawyer to tell him he’s got her, “All 600 grand?”
Sawyer confirms-“All 6.”
Sawyer's been conning Cassidy all along, but he fell for her.
Gordy is pissed off because he’s been waiting 6 months while they played house.
Sawyer doesn't want to go through with it.
Gordy tells Sawyer that he’s not in love it's his hormones that’s making him stupid. “You know, a tiger doesn't change his stripes, James. You're a con man, just like me. And it's not what you do, it's what you are. Do I make myself clear?”
Sawyer- "I'm sorry, man. I just can't do it.”
Gordy-“No, you're going to do it because that girl, she doesn't know you one bit;But when she finds out who you are, who you really are… she's going to hate your guts.”
Sawyer throws money on the table and tells Gordy to enjoy his chicken salad sandwich.
Gordy- “Wait a minute, you don't walk away now. You owe me. You don't want to pay me? ;I'll put one in your ear , James. You or your little friend, Cassidy.”
The alarm is beeping; it wakes up Sawyer. {3:50}
He starts to enter the code and in walks Jack with Jin wanting to know what he's doing there.
Casual and cocky Sawyer tells Jack, “One second, I'm like this close to the high score on Donkey Kong.”
Anxious Jin says something directly to Jack in Korean. {Yeah!} Jack waits patiently for Sawyer to enter the code. The code is entered and timer reset back to 108.
Jack wants to know where Locke is.
Sawyer-“I don't know. I think he said something about going to the store for a pack of smokes.”
Sawyer is amused while Jin and Jack are annoyed.
Jack opens the combination lock and discovers the guns and Virgin Mary statues have been moved.
Smart ass Sawyer mentions it looks like they’ve got themselves a theft and asks who's going to call the cops?, as he takes a pill right in front of Jack.
Sawyer believes the pills belong to Jack. {He tosses them to Jack}Jin stops Jack from going after Sawyer and says something in Korean to him and Jack seems to friggin understand him!!!!! {Aahhhh!}
Sawyer is indeed very smug.
At night on the beach Locke sits alone near a campfire, starring. Ana is making a new weapon.
Fired up Jack marches over to John wanting to know “Where are they? You moved the guns. Where are they? We had an agreement!”
Locke-“An agreement that you were about to violate, Jack. Yes, I moved the guns.”
Jack-“Where? Where? Where, John?”
Locke-“Oh, are you going to start handing them out? How many? Who gets them? How much time before there's an accident? Another accident. I made a mistake teaching Michael how to shoot and now he's... He could be dead for all I know and that, that was my fault. I take responsibility for that and so, yes, I'm taking responsibility for the guns, too.”
Jack-“I want 2 guns, John!”
Locke-“I'm sorry, Jack. That's the way it's going to be, Jack."
Jack-”2 guns. Now tell me where they are, right now!”
Four shots ring out.
Sawyer strolls into camp.
Jack asks Locke-“You gave him the guns?”
Locked is shocked-“No...I hid them.”
Sawyer-“That's right, Jack. He's as stupid as you are. You were so busy worrying about each other you never even saw me coming, did ya? How about you listen up, cause I'm only going to say this once. You took my stuff. While I was off trying to get us help... get us rescued …you found my stash and you took it. Divvied it up, my shaving cream, my batteries… even my beer. And then something else happened...you decided these two boys here were going to tell you what to do and when to do it. Well, I'm done taking orders. And I don't want my stuff back. The shaving cream don't matter. Batteries don't matter. The only thing that matters now are guns. And if you want one you're going to have to come to me to get it! {looks at Sayid.} Oh, you want to torture me, don't you? Show everybody how civilized you are. Go ahead, but I'll die before I give them back. And then you'll really be screwed, won't you? A new sheriff in town, boys! You all best get used to it.”
He saunters off.
Cassidy is in the house with money in an attaché case. Sawyer hurries in and tells her in the black car outside is Gordy, his partner who's waiting for the money. “If I don't walk out the front door with that briefcase in the next 2 minutes we're both dead.”
She asks if about the Mercado deal. Sawyer says there is no Mercado deal! Tells her he always knew about the $600,000 from the get go.
He confesses “You were the long con.”
Cassidy is pissed!
Sawyer- “You've got to understand, everything that's happened between us in the past 6 months, all of it… that was real.”
He continues, “Listen. You can hate me all you want later, but right now you've got to listen to me. He's going to kill us...because I told him I wasn't going to take your money.”
Sawyer instructs her to go out back through Evan's yard. There's a rental car parked out front. Go to Sioux City. He wants her to check in at the Sage Flower Motel, off highway 29…{gives her a duffel bag.}...Watch TV, have a drink, and wait for me. He’ll be there in the a.m.. It'll all be over. He shuffles her out the back door even though she wants to pack a few things. Sawyer tells her there’s no time. “Remember when you said I was all you ever wanted? Well, now you know better. I love you.”
She loves him too.
He tells her to go.
{Flash Whoosh}
Back at the beach Sawyer sits in his seat polishing his rifle.
Kate asks Sawyer how he found the guns, "Locke said that he left you in the Hatch when he went to hide the guns, and we both know you can't track worth a damn. So, how'd you get them?"
Sawyer-"A magician never tells his secrets."
Kate-"You played us. You played me. All that stuff you said about Ana Lucia, you knew I'd go to Jack. And you knew I'd ask you to go to Locke."
Sawyer- "Now, how in the world would I know all that?"
Kate- "Did you have anything to do with Sun?"
Sawyer- "What kind of person do you think I am?"
Kate- "What kind of a person do I think you are? I don't think this has anything to do with guns, or with getting your stash back. I think you want people to hate you."
Sawyer-"Good thing you don't hate me, Freckles."
Kate- "Why do you have to do this?"
Sawyer-"You run. I con. Tiger don't change their stripes."
{See, the roles never change!}
Hurley is reading a manuscript for 'Bad Twin'; a mystery book he found in a suitcase.
Sayid wants to show him something.
Sayid gets a static signal from the radio. {It's Rousseau's signal.}
Hurley is excited but Sayid is holding out for good reception. As he fiddles with the dial Hurley excitedly says,"Hold it, stop! Do you hear that?!"
We hear the Rousseau's message and then a DJ announces, ”That was the old classic "Just A-Sittin' and A-Rockin'" by Duke Ellington and his Orchestra, featuring Cootie Williams on the trumpet. Up next on WXR, the Glenn Miller Orchestra with Moonlight Serenade.”
Hurley-"Whoa, you hear how clear that is? It's got to be close, right?
Sayid-"Radio waves at this frequency bounce off the ionosphere. They can travel thousands of miles. It could be coming from anywhere."
Hurley-"Or, anytime. Just kidding, dude."
Sawyer is in the dark jungle talking to Charlie.
Charlie was in on the con; he kidnapped Sun!
Charlie said "He" never saw him coming, "He was more worried about his sodding guns than being followed."
Charlie did it so Locke would look and feel like a fool.
Sawyer-"Well, well, it looks like Johnny Locke's got himself a nemesis."
Sawyer pays Charlie with a Virgin Mary statue.
Charlie asks how someone could think of a plan like that...
{Flash} Sawyer goes out to the car, it was another con! There's no one in the car. He counts 1-Mississippi, 2-Mississippi, 3-Mississippi, 4-Mississippi, 5-Mississippi, goes back in the house, takes the rest of the money, looks at a picture of them, puts it face down. {Notice the Rabbit on the entry table}
...Sawyer says "I'm not a good person."
The Long Con is a GREAT EPISODE!
Sawyer is very in control of many, many things here. Don’t ever overlook that.
This is a look into Sawyers life as a con man who fell for his victim. Did he really fall for her or did he just get in too deep? His life revolves around playing games with people to win their money. The cons that he plays on people are so scripted that they even have titles to them!
Cassidy may be learning how to con by Sawyer but come on, she already knows how!! Again I must say this…A real con man would want people to like him yet Sawyer seems to want people to hate him.
The word stash is said so many times in this episode. Yes, it's said in our story, but here it is so many times it jumps out. Stash! We know what the word means, it means hide away in a secret place for future use. But here does it mean just items are stash or is it a subliminal clue to the "Island" and it's residents? Yeah!
There are so many times the words that are used can have two meanings, or they are a play on words. Even words like Mercado.

A magician never tells his secrets this is true. So don't expect any "Island" magician to open up about any tricks or illusions either. But who is the magic maker here?
You need to be careful of distractions because the truth is right in front of your eyes if you can look past the distraction, the sleight of hand.

Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right! The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either! You all know I hate spoilers! And I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Understood? Good! Let the fun begin! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance! It will get very exciting as we progress into the story.
Locke opens the door to the armory for Jack. Inside the stocked armory Jack's takes inventory of their 6 guns and 1 box of ammo from the silver case.
Locke feels it’s good that they don’t have to worry about them running out anytime soon, {because they never run out of anything, the island always gives them what they need} and he’s grateful Jack decided to keep em all in the same place.
Jack notes seven Virgin Mary statues.
Locke explains he took them from Charlie, his heroin stash; he figured they might have therapeutic value (if it ever came to that).
Jack asks if he's going to leave it all in the statues.
Locke won't break them open because he's superstitious.
Jack needs the combination.
Locke-“I'm willing to go ahead and assume that you're asking me because you're worried that I might fall off a cliff or something. That it would be irresponsible for just one of us to have access to this room, rather than this being an issue of trust.”
Jack-“Well, there are a lot of cliffs on this island, John.
Locke-“Alright. But I think we should agree, Jack, that if either of us need to open this door, we consult each other first.
Jack agrees and takes off his key from around his neck and hangs it in the armory
Locke reluctantly gives it. Right 7, Left 33, Right 18.
Jack doesn't need to write it down. {He didn't need to write down the computer code either. He's got 'Super Memory’}
Locke suggests they lock the medicine in there too. Jack wonders why he would need to do that.
Sawyer emerges from the water and remarks about Charlie {building a tent} having to relocate to the suburbs because Claire kicked him out.
Sawyer-“She gets to keep the house and you get the cheap ass apartment. Man, I thought these people hated me, but I've got to hand it to you...stealing a baby, trying to drown it... now, that's a new low. You even made Locke take a swing at ya. Hell, that's like getting Gandhi to beat his kids.“ {WTF? Trying to drown it?!}
Charlie-“Shouldn't you be more worried about Jack ransacking your tent right now?“
Pissed off Sawyer marches over to his tent and demands to know what the hell Jack is doing.
Jack accuses him of stealing meds from the hatch and Sawyer accuses Jack of stealing from him.
Sawyer-“They were in my stash when I left. I just took back what was mine.”
Jack-“These belong to all of us, Sawyer, to the group. You don't have a stash anymore.”
Sawyer-“Seriously, Doc, you don't want to do this. Just give me the pills. We'll forget it ever happened.
Jack-“Are you threatening me?"
Sawyer- Last chance, Doc.”
Jack takes the pop top pill bottle and walks away. {Medicine never seems to run out either}.
Sawyer is pissed, but he’s still cute!
{Flash Whoosh}
Sawyer is in bed with Cassidy. {A loud dog barks in the background}
Cassidy’s only want right now is Sawyer. As they kiss he looks at the clock and fears he’s going to be late for the meeting he’s told her about. Cassidy cutely tells him if he’s got another date he can just say so. Sawyer can only wrap his mind around one woman at a time. He grabs his suitcase.
Sawyer- "Back in a flash gorgeous. {money falls out of the case just like the con we've seen him use before} You weren’t exactly supposed to see that.”
Cassidy laughs, asking if he’s serious, "You just happen to have a suitcase full of cash? You got to pick it up and the lock happens to break? {She looks through a stack of cash} It's not even real!"
There's cut up newspaper in between the cash cash.
Cassidy-“Are you trying to con me? What? I ask you what all the money's for and you do some song and dance about an investment or something? And then I say, ‘Oh, hey, I've got some money’."
Sawyer-“Look, you got me. Good for you. No harm, no foul.”
Cassidy-“You should have done your homework. I didn't take anything from him in the divorce. I'm not even worth your trouble.”
Sawyer-“Well, shame on me.”
Cassidy wants to learn, "Show me what you do. What you really do….Show me how to con people, Sawyer."
{Flash Whoosh}
At the beach, Kate checks out Sawyers cleaning up his ransacked tent. She heard Jack took his pain killers. Sawyer tells her that he and the doc are on the outs, "One less Christmas card I'll have to send this year". {That's right, this year nobody is sending a Christmas card! HA!}
Kate knows how hard up he is for reading material so she brings him a magazine {Elegant} from the hatch to cheer him up. The magazine is old and he lost his glasses on the raft; he asks her to read to him. Kate laughs.
Sawyer-“What? You got an appointment or something?”
Kate finds a page and begins-"10 Ways to Tell If He's a Sensitive Man".
Locke walks by with bananas and mangos and says “Morning” to them. Sawyer feels Locke’s a sensitive man; he has needs like everyone else. {HAHAHA!}
Claire asked Locke to sleep down here but Sawyer sees that as something else. Kate knows not everyone is like Sawyer.
Sawyer-“I guess that's why old Jacko and Ana-Lulu didn't ask me to join their revolution. {Kate is surprised} What, you didn't hear about their little army? I guess I'm not the only one on the outs with the Doc.”
Sayid is working on cracking coconuts. Hurley walk over and asks, ”Hey, man. You gonna put the lime in the coconut, drink 'em both up? {Sayid doesn't respond.} Lime in the coconut? The song?“
Sayid-“What do you want, Hurley?”
Hurley-“So, I'm over at Rose and Bernard's tent. Did you know he's a dentist? Well, that's not all he's been holding out on us. The guy picked up Boone's signal from the Norwegian plane.”
Unimpressed Sayid corrects him,”Nigerian.”
Hurley-“Right.”
Hurley shows Sayid what Bernard picked it up with; a glorified walkie talkie, short wave radio. Hurley wonders if Sayid could switch the blue wire with the red wire, make it stronger.
Sayid-“We tried to send a signal with the plane's transceiver and all we got was the French woman's message on a loop. Why would I bother?”
Hurley-“Come on, man, I mean, it's worth...”
Sayid-“It's worth nothing. It's a waste of time.”
Hurley-“Just trying to cheer you up, dude.”
Sayid-“I don't need cheering up.”
Hurley leaves the radio with him anyway. {Does Hurley know about a Norwegian plane?}
Ana catches up to Jack in the jungle; she tries to get his attention more than once. {I don't trust Ana, she's a Tailie damn it!} Ana asks Jack if he got the combo? Jack nods yes.
Ana- "Nice. I didn't think it’d be that easy convincing your pal to give it up. That's the nice thing about you people… you're not scared enough. {Jack wonders, “Not scared enough”}
Same reason we can't talk anyone into joining the army. Everyone around here actually thinks they're... safe.”
Jack- "Trust me, Ana. No one thinks we're safe." {Watch her closely!}
Ana-“What’s the combo?”
He doesn't tell her even though she claims to have been kidding about inquiring.
{What is she up to? Who's side is she on? What's her plan?}
Thunder rolls.
Sun is gardening and she hears noises in the jungle. It's Vincent!!! {Dog has no collar} She asks him what he's doing out there. Happy Sun says something in Korean and Vincent heads back into the jungle.
Thunder rolls and it starts to rain on Sun and her garden. She doesn’t mind the rain. A black hood is put over her head, her hands are tied and she is dragged off into the jungle kicking and screaming. Sun is kidnapped!
It is pouring rain on the beach. Sawyer invites Freckles into his tent to get out of the rain but she likes the rain. {Locke likes the rain too.} Sawyer likes it too {from under here} but he pulls her by the arm into his tent. They hear screams and Kate proclaims, “That’s Sun.”
They run through the jungle and find her unconscious but breathing. Sawyer tells Kate to go get Jack. Sun has a head injury.
Sawyer carries Sun through the camp and gets her to Jack. Jack asks if she was conscious at all and did she say anything.
Sawyer-“No. Not a word.”
Jin sees Sun and is very upset. Jack tries to tell him she’s ok, “You need to let me take care of her.”
Sawyer tells Jack, “I heard her scream. Found her out in the jungle about a half a click from here...”
Kate cuts him off - “She was out cold and her hands were tied.”
Jack-“What do you mean, her hands were tied?”
Ana proclaims “They're back."
Jack, Ana, Locke, Kate, Sawyer have a pow wow. Locke reminds Jack that the Other’s said they would leave them alone. Kate tells Ana she
found Sun just outside her garden.
Ana-"We should take a look around, with guns."
Locke says “No.”
He suggests if they arm up they’re just as likely to shoot each other as we are one of them.”
Jack says they'll wait for Sun to wake up, she’ll tell them what happened, “Then we’re gonna do something about it.”
Locke says that sounds like a plan. Kate and Sawyer look suspiciously at Ana.{Who is it that Ana needs to arm up against? She knows what side she's on! To bad not all of them realize what side she's on.}
In the jungle, Kate and Sawyer are looking around where they found Sun for clues.
Kate- "They usually don't leave any trail".
Sawyer asks her if this scenario makes any sense. “First off, how'd she get away? The woman doesn't weigh 100 pounds soaking wet.”
Kate feels she was fighting for her life. “People are capable of almost anything...”
Sawyer-“You couldn't get away. You versus Sun hot oil death match... my money's on you, Sheena.”
Kate thanks for his vote of confidence.
They find a hood.
Kate says it's just like the one they put over her head.
Sawyer-“No it's not. This one's black different weave. It's all in the details...and they're wrong.” {YEP! That's what I've been saying!}
Kate wonders if it wasn’t “them” then who? “What are you saying, one of us did it? Who the hell would want to go after Sun?”
Sawyer-“Not much upside to scaring the crap out of 46 people…unless you're trying to con them into joining an army.”
{Flash Whoosh}
Left handed Sawyer marking fake prices on fake necklaces. Cassidy will help with this con. Sawyer teaches her the “Jewelry con”.
Cassidy fears them getting caught and notes the necklaces and remarks even a 5 year old could tell those weren't real. But Sawyer explains they won't be looking at the necklaces, they'll be looking at the price tags "It's all in the details, Dimples."
Sawyer is in a costume of sorts, band aide, army jacket, staged to look like he was in a bar fight. Here at Eric's Expert Service station they con two guys into buying necklaces.
{Gas price $171.9 lol!} Mission accomplished!
{Flash Whoosh}
Back at the beach, Jack uses his watch to check Sun’s pulse.
He informs Jin that Sun is OK; her pulse is good and strong. “You just need to watch her.” {He used hand gestures/communication to relay the info.}
Jin holds Sun’s hand while watching over her.
As Jack makes his way over to the water trough, Kate asks how about Sun’s bump on her head, “Do you think she fell or did someone hit her?”
Jack doesn’t know. {Fills up bottle}
Kate also wonders how well he knows Ana Lucia and suggests that maybe Ana kidnapped Sun. "The Other's...I was out there with you...heard that man say if we stayed away they'd leave us alone. And we've left them alone. So why would they attack us a few days later?”
Jack-“If it wasn't them then who was it?”
Kate asks again, “How well do you know Ana Lucia?”
Jack walks away from her but he shakes his head in a kind of disbelief.
Ana recruits the big guy who lives behind Sayid and Scott to join up. Jack corrects her, it's not Scott, its Steve. {lol}
Ana doesn’t really care, “Scott, Steve...the point is, after what happened people are finally willing to do something.”
Jack questions Ana, where was she during the rainstorm. Ana’s first reply to him is “Lots of places.” {LOTS!}
She realizes Jack thinks she may have something to do with Sun getting grabbed and asks, “Now where would you get an idea like that?”
Claire {with Aaron} calls out to Jack to announce that Sun’s awake.
Jack runs over to check on Sun.
Jack- “Hey. How's your head? Any pain, dizziness?”
Sun-“Just a little bit.”
Jack-“Do you remember anything?”
Sun recalls working in her garden then Vincent ran up, it started raining and there was a bag over her head and she was being dragged.
Jack-“How many were there?”
Sun-“I don’t...I didn’t see anything.”
Upset Jin says something in Korean and Sun replies in Korean.
Sun-“I kicked and I fought, and I just ran as fast as I could and then I fell...”
Jin's fired up and ranting in Korean. He turns to Jack and demands a…Let's say it together...Gun!
Sawyer sits in his front row seat far away enough from the action at Sun’s tent, observing it all.
Kate comes over and asks what’s going on.
Sawyer-“It looks like the good folks of Island Town are about to form a posse. Get themselves armed up. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Jack didn't find that horse of yours and start leading the charge in a big white hat.”
Ana and Kate share a LOOK! {Check that out!}
Kate figures that this is all a play for Ana to get her hands on the guns!
Kate-“Locke. You need to go and tell him that they're coming!” {Who?}
Sawyer-“I need to tell em?!”
Kate begs him.
{Flash Whoosh}
OMG, Hot Sawyer in a towel, brushing his teeth. Look at all mirrors {Looking glass, all reflecting Sawyer}
Cassidy asks what’s the "next play?"
They've already done the pigeon drop, twice, and the Tulsa Bag Scam, and the LookyLoo . {Look at all those clues!!!}
Cassidy wants to do a “Big Con” and Sawyer corrects her and explains {While he’s brushing his teeth} how a Long Con works “It works by getting someone to ask you to do something like it's their idea, but it's not their idea, it's your idea. But none of that matters because the one thing you need for the long con we ain't got...money.”
Cassidy admits she lied about the divorce money.
Sawyer-“Cassidy, 40 grand in some mutual fund ain't money.”
Cassidy-“Remember what I told you, that I didn't get anything from the divorce?” {Well guess fucking what??? She lied! She got $600,000! {Obviously, she can con too!}
Sawyer-“Well, hell baby, with kind of money let's go find an island somewhere and sit on a beach drinking Mojitos 'til we go toes up.”
Cassidy-“Sawyer, for the first time in my life I'm actually happy. And it's not really about the action and the money. It's about doing this with you. Come on, one long con? And then the mojitos.”
Sawyer will think about it...in the shower.
In the hatch Locke is pulling books off the bookshelf looking for something in them; he actually fans through the pages. Sawyer asks what he’s doing and Locke tells Sawyer he's alphabetizing as he piles books on top of the Ping Pong table. {What is Locke looking for that he knows may be hidden in a book? Hmm?}
They call each other by their 'real' names.
Sawyer-“Oh, sure. Sun gets attacked in the jungle and you figure it's a good time to start the damn Dewey decimal system. Good thinking.”
Locke-“How can I help you, James?”
Sawyer-“Well, actually, John, I'm here to help you, give you the heads-up."
Locke-“Heads-up?”
Sawyer- Seems Jack's on his way over here to open your little gun closet and take whatever he needs. You should know he's not alone. The whole camp's pretty shook up about what happened to Tokyo Rose. I 'm guessing everybody's going to want to play Cowboys and Indians. And once those guns are out and about...something tells me they ain't never going back in.”
Locke-“Why are you telling me this?”
Sawyer-“Because it'll piss off Jack. If I were you, I'd change that combination, pronto.”
Locke-“But that won't work. The door will just slow him down. If Jack wants to get in, he'll get in. Will you help me?”
Sawyer-“Help you what?”
Locke-“Move the guns.”
Sawyer-“Move them where? {Locke doesn't answer} Fine, you don't want to trust me… lots of luck.”
Locke-“But I can't leave the Hatch unmanned.
Sawyer-“Sure, you move the guns and I'll stay here and push your damn button for you.”
Locke-“How long 'til they get here?”
Sawyer-“Well, that ain't my problem, Hoss. It's yours.”
{Flash Whoosh}
Sawyer is in a diner. Diane, Kate's mother serves him beer. {Another diner for Diane?} Gordy {orders a chicken salad sandwich, and is wearing an ugly plaid shirt, LOL} wants Sawyer to tell him he’s got her, “All 600 grand?”
Sawyer confirms-“All 6.”
Sawyer's been conning Cassidy all along, but he fell for her.
Gordy is pissed off because he’s been waiting 6 months while they played house.
Sawyer doesn't want to go through with it.
Gordy tells Sawyer that he’s not in love it's his hormones that’s making him stupid. “You know, a tiger doesn't change his stripes, James. You're a con man, just like me. And it's not what you do, it's what you are. Do I make myself clear?”
Sawyer- "I'm sorry, man. I just can't do it.”
Gordy-“No, you're going to do it because that girl, she doesn't know you one bit;But when she finds out who you are, who you really are… she's going to hate your guts.”
Sawyer throws money on the table and tells Gordy to enjoy his chicken salad sandwich.
Gordy- “Wait a minute, you don't walk away now. You owe me. You don't want to pay me? ;I'll put one in your ear , James. You or your little friend, Cassidy.”
The alarm is beeping; it wakes up Sawyer. {3:50}
He starts to enter the code and in walks Jack with Jin wanting to know what he's doing there.
Casual and cocky Sawyer tells Jack, “One second, I'm like this close to the high score on Donkey Kong.”
Anxious Jin says something directly to Jack in Korean. {Yeah!} Jack waits patiently for Sawyer to enter the code. The code is entered and timer reset back to 108.
Jack wants to know where Locke is.
Sawyer-“I don't know. I think he said something about going to the store for a pack of smokes.”
Sawyer is amused while Jin and Jack are annoyed.
Jack opens the combination lock and discovers the guns and Virgin Mary statues have been moved.
Smart ass Sawyer mentions it looks like they’ve got themselves a theft and asks who's going to call the cops?, as he takes a pill right in front of Jack.
Sawyer is indeed very smug.
At night on the beach Locke sits alone near a campfire, starring. Ana is making a new weapon.
Fired up Jack marches over to John wanting to know “Where are they? You moved the guns. Where are they? We had an agreement!”
Locke-“An agreement that you were about to violate, Jack. Yes, I moved the guns.”
Jack-“Where? Where? Where, John?”
Locke-“Oh, are you going to start handing them out? How many? Who gets them? How much time before there's an accident? Another accident. I made a mistake teaching Michael how to shoot and now he's... He could be dead for all I know and that, that was my fault. I take responsibility for that and so, yes, I'm taking responsibility for the guns, too.”
Jack-“I want 2 guns, John!”
Locke-“I'm sorry, Jack. That's the way it's going to be, Jack."
Jack-”2 guns. Now tell me where they are, right now!”
Four shots ring out.
Sawyer strolls into camp.
Jack asks Locke-“You gave him the guns?”
Locked is shocked-“No...I hid them.”
Sawyer-“That's right, Jack. He's as stupid as you are. You were so busy worrying about each other you never even saw me coming, did ya? How about you listen up, cause I'm only going to say this once. You took my stuff. While I was off trying to get us help... get us rescued …you found my stash and you took it. Divvied it up, my shaving cream, my batteries… even my beer. And then something else happened...you decided these two boys here were going to tell you what to do and when to do it. Well, I'm done taking orders. And I don't want my stuff back. The shaving cream don't matter. Batteries don't matter. The only thing that matters now are guns. And if you want one you're going to have to come to me to get it! {looks at Sayid.} Oh, you want to torture me, don't you? Show everybody how civilized you are. Go ahead, but I'll die before I give them back. And then you'll really be screwed, won't you? A new sheriff in town, boys! You all best get used to it.”
He saunters off.
Cassidy is in the house with money in an attaché case. Sawyer hurries in and tells her in the black car outside is Gordy, his partner who's waiting for the money. “If I don't walk out the front door with that briefcase in the next 2 minutes we're both dead.”
She asks if about the Mercado deal. Sawyer says there is no Mercado deal! Tells her he always knew about the $600,000 from the get go.
He confesses “You were the long con.”
Cassidy is pissed!
Sawyer- “You've got to understand, everything that's happened between us in the past 6 months, all of it… that was real.”
He continues, “Listen. You can hate me all you want later, but right now you've got to listen to me. He's going to kill us...because I told him I wasn't going to take your money.”
Sawyer instructs her to go out back through Evan's yard. There's a rental car parked out front. Go to Sioux City. He wants her to check in at the Sage Flower Motel, off highway 29…{gives her a duffel bag.}...Watch TV, have a drink, and wait for me. He’ll be there in the a.m.. It'll all be over. He shuffles her out the back door even though she wants to pack a few things. Sawyer tells her there’s no time. “Remember when you said I was all you ever wanted? Well, now you know better. I love you.”
She loves him too.
He tells her to go.
{Flash Whoosh}
Back at the beach Sawyer sits in his seat polishing his rifle.
Kate asks Sawyer how he found the guns, "Locke said that he left you in the Hatch when he went to hide the guns, and we both know you can't track worth a damn. So, how'd you get them?"
Sawyer-"A magician never tells his secrets."
Kate-"You played us. You played me. All that stuff you said about Ana Lucia, you knew I'd go to Jack. And you knew I'd ask you to go to Locke."
Sawyer- "Now, how in the world would I know all that?"
Kate- "Did you have anything to do with Sun?"
Sawyer- "What kind of person do you think I am?"
Kate- "What kind of a person do I think you are? I don't think this has anything to do with guns, or with getting your stash back. I think you want people to hate you."
Sawyer-"Good thing you don't hate me, Freckles."
Kate- "Why do you have to do this?"
Sawyer-"You run. I con. Tiger don't change their stripes."
{See, the roles never change!}
Hurley is reading a manuscript for 'Bad Twin'; a mystery book he found in a suitcase.
Sayid wants to show him something.
Sayid gets a static signal from the radio. {It's Rousseau's signal.}
Hurley is excited but Sayid is holding out for good reception. As he fiddles with the dial Hurley excitedly says,"Hold it, stop! Do you hear that?!"
We hear the Rousseau's message and then a DJ announces, ”That was the old classic "Just A-Sittin' and A-Rockin'" by Duke Ellington and his Orchestra, featuring Cootie Williams on the trumpet. Up next on WXR, the Glenn Miller Orchestra with Moonlight Serenade.”
Hurley-"Whoa, you hear how clear that is? It's got to be close, right?
Sayid-"Radio waves at this frequency bounce off the ionosphere. They can travel thousands of miles. It could be coming from anywhere."
Hurley-"Or, anytime. Just kidding, dude."
Sawyer is in the dark jungle talking to Charlie.
Charlie was in on the con; he kidnapped Sun!
Charlie said "He" never saw him coming, "He was more worried about his sodding guns than being followed."
Charlie did it so Locke would look and feel like a fool.
Sawyer-"Well, well, it looks like Johnny Locke's got himself a nemesis."
Sawyer pays Charlie with a Virgin Mary statue.
Charlie asks how someone could think of a plan like that...
{Flash} Sawyer goes out to the car, it was another con! There's no one in the car. He counts 1-Mississippi, 2-Mississippi, 3-Mississippi, 4-Mississippi, 5-Mississippi, goes back in the house, takes the rest of the money, looks at a picture of them, puts it face down. {Notice the Rabbit on the entry table}
...Sawyer says "I'm not a good person."
Sawyer is very in control of many, many things here. Don’t ever overlook that.
This is a look into Sawyers life as a con man who fell for his victim. Did he really fall for her or did he just get in too deep? His life revolves around playing games with people to win their money. The cons that he plays on people are so scripted that they even have titles to them!
Cassidy may be learning how to con by Sawyer but come on, she already knows how!! Again I must say this…A real con man would want people to like him yet Sawyer seems to want people to hate him.
The word stash is said so many times in this episode. Yes, it's said in our story, but here it is so many times it jumps out. Stash! We know what the word means, it means hide away in a secret place for future use. But here does it mean just items are stash or is it a subliminal clue to the "Island" and it's residents? Yeah!
There are so many times the words that are used can have two meanings, or they are a play on words. Even words like Mercado.

* The radio call letters: East of the Mississippi the call letters begin with W. West of the Mississippi they begin with K. {Eastern United States} What is that about?! Are they in a city in the Eastern United States?

Convincing people to join an army...hmmm...something tells me these "Islanders" are gearing up for a war.
A magician never tells his secrets this is true. So don't expect any "Island" magician to open up about any tricks or illusions either. But who is the magic maker here?
You need to be careful of distractions because the truth is right in front of your eyes if you can look past the distraction, the sleight of hand.
The Long Con… A glimpse into Sawyer's way of life? A hint to a longer con he's still involved in?Yes, but those are not the only things...This is not only about Sawyer and his cons on or off the "Island"
Are ALL of them victims of a 'LONG CON'?! Everyone is being played including us.

Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right! The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either! You all know I hate spoilers! And I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Understood? Good! Let the fun begin! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance! It will get very exciting as we progress into the story.

Adrift.
Let's talk about LOST! Adrift.

Underwater:
Sawyer pops up from the water to the sounds of Walt screaming out for “Dad”.
Michael crying out in desperation for Waaaaaalt!!
The Others took Walt. Whatever is left of the raft is on fire. Sawyer calls out for Mike while Michael cries out for Walt. {You can hear Jin say “Sawyer”}
Sawyer yells out for Jin, but Jin doesn’t reply. {Listen to the sounds and voices in the background.}
Sawyer makes his way to a piece of floating wreckage/junk in an attempt to get to Mike.“Hang on Mike!”
Michael just repeats “Walt” over and over.
Michael appears to black out and go underwater. Sawyer pulls Michael up onto a piece of raft. Mike is unconscious and seems to not be breathing and Sawyer tries to revive him by frantically pounding on his chest, “Mike! Mike! Mike!”
On Sawyer’s third strike to Mike’s chest...
The bright light goes off in the hatch.
Locke is still holding the “rope” {cable-vine} that was lowering Kate into the hatch. He yells down there for her. Locke ties up this cable-vine to a tree and goes in after Kate.
Sawyer continues CPR on Mike and saves Michael!
Right away Mike asks “Where’s Walt?”
Sawyer doesn’t know.
{Flash Whoosh}
“How'd you hurt your leg?” asks the attorney .
Michael, who is fidgeting with his walking stick/cane tells the lawyer he got hit by a car. {World Trade Center/Twin Towers is seen outside the window.}
The lawyer chats about the paperwork Michael’s ex-wife sent over.
Michael corrects him, “She's not my ex-wife, man. She's just...Walt's mother. She, uh, Susan, she just got a new job in Rome…the boyfriend... they want to take Walt with them.”
The lawyer tells him not to worry, “I'm going to take very good care of you, Mr. Dawn.”
Michael corrects him, “Dawson."
The lawyer is looking over the papers, “This boyfriend...this is this guy, Brian Porter?”
Michael wonders what it says.
The Lawyer-“It seems that Susan wants you to relinquish your rights as Walt's father so that Mr. Porter can adopt him. “
Michael’s upset that Susan wants him to sign his son away.
The lawyer-“It's the only way they can proceed with the adoption, yeah. Listen, if you sign this document...legally, he'll be no different than any other kid you pass on the street. You'll be giving up your paternal rights...All of them.”
Michael wonders if he can stop her from going. The lawyer mentions they could file and injunction so she couldn’t leave the city. Michael wants to do that.
The lawyer- “Right. Um, Mr. Dawson, the fact that you came in through these doors that tells me something. It tells me that I'm the best that you can afford. If we go forward with this, it's going to take money. A lot of it...even at my rates. This is David and Goliath, so I've got to ask you...are you sure you want to do this?"
Michael-“They're not taking my son away.“ {Uh, well they just did!}
{Flash Whoosh}
“Waaaaaalt!”
Michael continues calling out for his son. Concerned Sawyer suggests Mike save his energy.
Sawyer saw that they took Walt onto a boat which means he's not in shouting distance.“
Michael-“You don't know that.“
{Huh?! Do you see the friggin boat?!}
Sawyer-“Well, I got a pretty good sense. And even if he was, there's nothing you can do."
Michael is freaked out and determined, “Look, if he can hear me, he knows that I'm alive, that I'm coming for him, that I'm Going To Get Him Back. Right now, all I've got is that maybe my son can hear me. Does that make any sense to you?”
Mike goes on crying out for Waaaaalt!
Locke arrives down inside the hatch; whispering loudly for Kate.
Locke steps in a puddle of muddy water. {Mirror in the corner.} {There is the sound of a loud hum and machine-winding down; that sound is repeated.}
Locke takes off his shoes before entering the area. {Why would he do this? It's not so he can sneak around-shoe-less!}
Locke touches the Dharma Swan Logo on a fuse box. Locke’s shadow is cast as he makes his way into the living area. {Art/graffiti on the walls, Lava lamp, Ping Pong table.}
He creeps his way around. He opens the blinds and reveals fake sunlight.
He hears Kate moaning. {Keep those thoughts clean, guys! Lol}
Kate's on the floor of the computer room; she was knocked out. As she’s waking up she warms Locke of a man behind him.
That man holds a rifle on Locke and asks, "Are you him? Are you him?"
Sawyer’s on the raft calling out for Jin.
Michael- “I thought we had to save our energy?”
They do, but Jin's still out there in the water, so if it's okay by Mike, Sawyer’s going to keep shouting for him. He continues calling out for Jin!”
Annoyed Michael asks Sawyer if he’s feeling guilty for making him fire the flare.
Sawyer-“I made you fire...What, this is my fault?”
Michael-“They took my son. They found us took Walt, because you made me fire the flare!” Sawyer feels at least Walt is on a boat, probably wrapped in a blanket with a cup of cocoa, while they’re on this piece of...Michael demands Sawyer get off of his raft. Something hits the bottom of the raft and they wonder what it is. There is something under there. We see an above shot of the water with a shark swimming by.
Floating on what's left of the raft, Michael remarks that Sawyer was able to hold on to his best friend {a gun}.
Michael-"...thing aint gonna work, anyway. You were underwater.”
Sawyer wonders what Hoss knows about guns anyway, “It’ll work.”
Sawyer removes the clip and pops out the bullets. He feels if the bullets are dry, the powders dry. The raft is bumped into hard by their underwater visitor causing Sawyer to drop the bullets. They realize it’s only a shark. Mike feels the shark is hanging around because of Sawyer’s bleeding shoulder.
Sawyer-“Oh, well, I'll just stop bleeding then. Did you suddenly forget what happened? Why I got shot?”
Michael- “What?”
Sawyer-“Hey, how about a little gratitude here? I'm mean, a thank you."
Michael-“Thank you? For what? For you trying to save your own ass?"
Sawyer-“You want me off this raft? You got it.”
Sawyer pulls/paddles with his one arm to get to another piece of raft.
Sawyer tells Mike, “I was trying to save your damn kid.”
{Flash Whoosh}
“Let's talk about Walt, shall we, Mr. Dawson?” asks Susan’s lawyer, Lizzy.
Lizzy-”When was the last time you actually saw your son?”
Michael-“Um, about a year ago."
Lizzy corrects him, “It was 14 months, actually. “
She wonders, “Why so long?”
Michael-“Susan took him to Amsterdam… for work. “ {History lesson, New York City was originally called New Amsterdam.}
Lizzy-“And you didn't have a problem with that?”
Michael-“Excuse me?”
Lizzy-“Well, since she's now going to Rome and you're filing an injunction. It just seems a little inconsistent to me.“
Michael-“Incon… no. No, no, no, no. ..She took him…I didn’t want her to go.”
Mike’s lawyer informs him that she’s baiting him. Michael says to Susan, “You said there was nothing I could do.”
Susan looks uncomfortable.
Lizzy-“And you didn't do anything, did you?”
Lizzy feels there is no answer to that question. “You were in an accident recently, no?”
Michael-“Yeah."
Lizzy-“You had several surgeries. Spent weeks in a private hospital room. Extensive rehabilitation. Who paid for all of that, Mr. Dawson?”
Michael is getting worked up and says to Susan, ”I didn't ask you for anything.”
Lizzy wants the court reporter to have the record reflect that Mr. Dawson acknowledged that Ms. Lloyd paid his bills."
Michael’s upset,”Susan! Tell them. Susan, tell them that I didn't ask you for anything.“ Apparently Michael is not to address Susan directly.
Lizzy asks Michael-“Do you know what Walt's first words were, Mr. Dawson?"
Michael-“I'm sorry, what?"
Lizzy-“His first words, do you know what they were?"
Michael-“I...no, I...I wasn't there."
Lizzy-“Do you know what his favorite food is? {Michael rolls his eyes but doesn’t say anything} Do you..."
Michael-“No.”
Michael’s lawyer feels this is unnecessary but Michael finally replies ‘no’ to her question.
Lizzy- “Well, for someone who wants to retain his paternal rights so badly you don't seem to know much about your son, Mr. Dawson.”
Michael-“I'm his father.”
Lizzy-“I'm sorry, could you say that louder please, just for the record.”
Michael repeats, “I'm his father.“ {Note there’s a man videotaping this meeting.}
{Flash Whoosh}
The full moon shines down on Michael and Sawyer, each on their pieces of raft wreckage. Sawyer is digging around his bullet wound. {It’s a good thing these two raft pieces don’t drift away from each other. Lol}
Michael asks Sawyer if he’s crazy,” You're going to take a bullet out with your bare hands.” He feels Sawyer will never be able to do it by himself, besides Sawyer thought they parted ways.
Michael-“We're caught in the same current.“
Sawyer is in pain and gathers nerve to dig at the wound. He screams as he pulls the bullet out. Sawyer asks Mike if he’s got a Band-aid and then Sawyer passes out.
“Are you... are you him?” Desmond asks Locke.
Locke stands up and states, “Yes. Yes I am.” {His first response is to say yes!} Desmond is relieved, “I can't believe it. You're finally here."
Locke smiles and says,”Well, here I am.”
Desmond asks who she is.
Locke helps Kate up and informs Desmond, “She's with me.”
Cautious Desmond asks him, “What did one snowman say to the other snowman?”
Locke doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Realizing Locke is ‘not him’, he demands Locke get rid of the knife. Locke tosses the knife and tries to explain to Desmond that they’re not there to hurt him. Desmond wonders why they came. Kate reveals they were in a plane crash.
Desmond-“Were you now? And when was that?”
Locke-“44 days ago.”
Desmond-“44 days? Move.”
As Desmond is moving his visitors along, Locke sees the wall is filled with strike marks in groups of five, indicating a counter/calendar. Locke asks him how long he’s been down there. Desmond tosses Kate a black power cord and tells Kate to tie Locke up.
Locke-“Wait. Wait, wait! You're tying up the wrong person.” He tells Des it's pointless to tie him up, he’s not dangerous. But her, she's a fugitive.
Desmond-“So, what does that make you then, brother?”
Locke-“I'm a regional collections manager for a cardboard manufacturer. Boxes primarily.”
Desmond-“All right then, box man, tie her up.
Kate doesn’t want Locke to touch her but he does tie her hands behind her back and he whispers to her, “I'm doing what's best for all of us. Locke slips a pocketknife in Kate's jeans. Kate struggles but they lock her up in a dark storage room.
At the caves Hurley asks Jack,” You're kidding, right? You're going back?”
Indeed he is.
Hurley-“What about all that stuff you said about waiting 'til morning and watching the sun rise?”
Jack changed his mind.
Claire asks Charlie, “What do you suppose all that's about?”
Charlie reckons Jack's going to do something heroic. Claire rolls her eyes at that. Then Claire remarks that Charlie always ‘tries’ to be funny when he doesn’t want to answer a question. She hands him the baby and he makes funny faces at Aaron. Claire finds a Virgin Mary statue and asks, “What's this?”
Charlie found it in the jungle, “Yeah. Be careful. Be careful with it. Hey, take Aaron. {Gives her the baby} You've got to be careful with it, you know. It's the Virgin Mary. She's holy.”
Claire didn’t realize Charlie was so religious. Charlie says he’s not, “It's just, you know, it might come in handy. It'd be a nice thing to have around.”
Mike and Sawyer float individually near each other on their rafts.
Sawyer-“It wasn't the flare. I said it wasn't the flare. Those people… that did this...at first I thought they were fisherman or pirates or something. Then I got a good look at their boat. You know anything about boats, Mike? A boat like that wasn't built for the open ocean. Water's coming over the side with the first little squall...maybe got a range of 100 miles. A boat like that had to have left port from somewhere close. Like the island. French chick said the Others were coming for a kid. I think they came, Mike.”
Sawyer feels he’s/Walt is the one they wanted and why he has a bullet in his shoulder, “Hell, Bluebeard blew us up because they wanted your kid.”
Michael-“Are you saying this is my fault?”
Yep, that’s what Sawyer is saying.
Michael feels they took his son because of Sawyer, “They were sailing away.”
Sawyer-“They found us because they were looking for us, for Walt."
Michael points something/stick at Sawyer and yells him, “Don't you ever say his name again, ever.”
Sawyer-“Oh, what are you gonna do? Splash me.“
So, childish Michael splashes Sawyer, and Sawyer's raft unravels.
Mike literally turns his back on him. Injured Sawyer and his gun make his way over to Mike’s tiny raft.
Sawyer-“Look, I know you...”
Pissed off Michael tells him to “Shut up! Don't EVEN… You have no idea what it's like to care for somebody else.“
{Flash Whoosh}
Susan is waiting for Michael in a lawyer-less office. She wanted to talk to him alone. Susan thinks he’s going to win.
Susan- “In court. I think you're going to keep me from leaving the country with Walt. I just have to ask you why?”
It’s because Walt’s Michael’s son.
Susan- “Since when, Michael? {Pretty important statement! Don't you think?} Look, I know you don't care about what's best for me, but in Rome I'll be senior partner at the firm. I'll be able to give Walt anything he needs. You're still on disability, Michael. You can't work. You're about to be evicted from your apartment.“
She had her lawyer’s checking up on him, “Just like you had your lawyers checking up on me. Nobody's winning here.”
Michael-"Then stop."
Susan-“Michael, the first thing you need to do is take care of yourself. You need to get healthy. You need to get back on your feet financially so you can get back to pursuing your art. You have rare talent as an artist, Michael. But how are you going to do that, any of that...and still be a part of Walt's life?"
Michael will do it by doing it; Walt’s his responsibility too.
Susan-“Then let him go. Because it's not about you or me, it’s about him. I don't want to go court, Michael. So please just let him go.”
Michael just looks at her.
{Flash Whoosh}
In the dark storage room Kate struggles to free her hands. Son of a bitch! She frees herself by using the pocket knife and cutting the black power cord cuffs. She feels her way around and turns on the light. She is in a food pantry that is stocked with goods! As she moves a box/crate to get up to the air/AC vent she finds an open tin labeled candy and is filled with Apollo Bars. She enjoys eating one and puts a bunch in her back pockets.
Kate climbs on a crate and opens the air/AC vent and climbs into it.
The bright fake/simulated sunlight pours into the hatch. Locke fills Desmond in on their arrival. “The pilot said we had lost radio contact, but by then we were already a thousand miles off course. Any search teams would have given up weeks ago.”
Armed Desmond-“So you were traveling from Sydney to Los Angeles?”
Locke says yes.
Des seems a bit amazed, “So the world is still out there?”
Locke-“As far as I know... Could you tell me your name?”
Des now seems baffled and asks, ”My name? My name is Desmond.”
Locke-“Desmond, I'm John. You should know the gun is really unnecessary.”
Des acts all tough for a second and then asks, “How many of you are there?”
Locke-“43, but 4 sailed out this morning on a raft.”
The raft idea amuses Desmond.
Locke wonders about that simulated sunlight “Is that because you never leave? Is there another way out?”
Desmond doesn’t even respond to those questions, he only wonders how many of John’s group have gotten sick; as in ill, as in dead! Locke asks if that’s why it says QUARANTINE on the inside of the hatch. Desmond just wants the answer.
Locke-“No one has. No one. No one is sick.”
All of a sudden there is beeping. {We get a shot of a speaker}
Kate crawls through the AC duct. {Another shot of a speaker}
Desmond demands John get up and shuffles him to the computer room. “Stand right there. Do you know how to use this, box man?”
Locke looks amazed-“I haven't seen one of those in 20 years.” But he knows how to use it. The countdown clock clicks down from 2:38 to 2:37 to 2:36.
Desmond wants him to, “Listen carefully, type in exactly what I tell you. Exactly, nothing else. 4, 8, 15... Did you hear that?”
Locke-“What?”
Desmond-”What did you just put in? What number did you just put in?“
Locke-“15”
Distracted Desmond continues, “Right, 16, 23, 42. Now press execute.”
Nervous John stalls, wanting to know what’s going to happen.
Desmond-“Just push it!”
Locke pushes EXECUTE and the timer resets to 108. They both seem relieved. {Execute- as in carry out fully, enforce or put to death?}
Jack calls out for Kate and Locke. Desmond wants to know who the hell that is.
Locke-“That would be Jack.”
Desmond looks through his fancy looking glass contraption of mirrors {adjusting a dial} and asks Locke whom that is.
Locke-“His, uh, his name is Jack. He's our doctor.”
Locke is a little surprised to see Jack there.
Desmond reveals Locke’s doctor has a gun and pushes brotha to move, “Make one sound and I'll shoot. Move.“
Desmond walks over to the stereo, flips a switch and blasts the record player {it scratches and the song plays “Make Your Own Kind of Music.}
Kate crawls through the vent.
Desmond threatens to shoot if Locke makes a sound then pushes him, “Move!”
From up in the vent Kate can see through the grid that Jack is looking around down below {there’s a sofa}. Kate calls out to him but he doesn’t hear her. Jack takes a closer look at the computer. The record scratches to a stop!
Locke is standing alone in the doorway, “I wouldn't do that, Jack.”
Pissed off Jack asks where Kate is.
Desmond stays hidden but points the gun at John’s head. “Move and I kill him. Put the gun down.“ {Kate has ringside seats!}
Jack just wants to know where Kate is. John says she’s fine and to put the gun down. Jack isn’t putting anything down.
Desmond shoots and it hits in the vicinity of Kate’s VIP seat.
Desmond-“Do you want him to die? Put it down.”
Jack-“Is this what you were talking about, Locke? Is this your destiny? All roads lead here?”
Calm Locke tells Jack to calm down.
Desmond scoots behind Locke and tells Jack to “Lower your gun or I'll blow his damned head off, brotha.”
Jack realizes something familiar. Desmond shows his face.
Jack- “You.“ {He gets a messed up look about him}
Michael and Sawyer sit in opposite directions on the raft. Sawyer decides to one arm pull himself over to one of the pontoons. Mike tells Sawyer to stop paddling because he’s putting a strain on the binds and it’s going to break them up. Determined Sawyer keeps on paddling. The raft starts to break apart and Sawyer falls off. Michael wants him to climb up.
Sawyer- “I do and we both sink. I'm going for the pontoon.”
He hands Mike the gun and tells him if he sees that toothy son of a bitch, you aim and squeeze. Sawyer makes break for the pontoon as Mike roots for him to make it. The shark shows up and Michael pulls the trigger but nothing happens.
Michael fires 5x and we see blood; he hit something. All is quiet; no shark, no Sawyer.
Michael calls out for Sawyer and paddles near the pontoon.
Sawyer pops up on the other side of the pontoon, “Give me your hand.”
Michael helps Sawyer climb onto the pontoon; then Mike joins him.
Michael with his cane sits on a park bench in a park. Susan and a young Walt meet up with Michael. Susan {Pearl earring.} apologizes that she’s late, “Packing's been a disaster and the plane leaves first thing in the morning.”
Susan asks Walt {stripe polo shirt} if he wants to say hi.
Michael-“Hi, Walt. I'm... I’m...hey, uh, {pulls a stuffed polar bear out of the bag.} this is for you, man. {To Susan} He like bears?“
Yes he likes bears, he’s just really shy.
Michael kneels down, looks deeply at Walt, “Hey little man, look. I guess I can't call you that, I mean, because look how big you are. So, you and I...well, we're not going to see each other for a while, Walt. But you are going to have...a great life. I know your mommy she's going to take real good care of you. And Brian is...going to take good care of you, too. But you know what? I just want you to know… that no matter where you go... I...That your daddy...Yeah, your daddy...he loves you very, very much. And I always will. Always, okay.“
Smiling Susan is sorry about this.
Michael is emotional, he hands her the bag and wants Walt to know its from him, “sometime”.
She says okay and goodbye.
Michael-“Yeah, bye.”
He is sad as he watches them walk away.
Michael is crying on the pontoon. {His hands against his head.} The sun is rising. Sawyer wakes up and asks Mike if he’s OK.
Michael feels it's his fault, “I never should have brought him on the raft. {Now motivated and determined} I'm going to get him back. I'm going to get back my son.”
Sawyer looks over to his right and sees that, “The current brought us back. We're home.” {Indeed. They are home.}
Sawyer and Michael make their way on shore.
They hear Jin yelling. Jin's comes running over to them with his arms tied behind his back. He falls; Michael unties him while Jin's rambles on in Korean. He’s trying to tell them something important.
Jin-“Utter! Utters!...Others.”
They all look over to see a tribal looking group of people. Others.
Adrift is a great episode!
The raft guys face one hell of a challenge and end up returning right back to where they started from.
They are literally drawn back to the Island because that is where they need to be and yes...these guys are really at home.
Things to Note...Questions to ask...
* Sawyer saves Michael's life. CPR. He should be a saint. Saint Sawyer, that works for me. He could have let Michael die but that's not what Sawyers all about.
* Save your energy.
* Simulated. Fake.
* Power cord. Computer. Speaker. Countdown clock/timer. Reset.
* Team. Challenge. Another way out-Exit-Escape. Win.
* Sawyer calls Michael-Mike.
* Desmond questions Locke. The lawyer questions Michael.
* Kate and Apollo bars. I can't help but wonder if those delicious treats contain a hallucinogen in it, to help keep them in an altered state or something. Remember, I feel that they may have an "altered" thing going on; their minds would have to be altered. That could be done with hallucinogens in food, candy, gas, injections, brain washing, etc. This is just a thought. But the candy has to have some importance.
* Susan has lots of money and a powerful job with people in high places. We should all be so lucky. lol!
*"She is just Walt's mother"...Was she just the carrier of "Walt" or carrier of something else? Is Michael a carrier of something? Is this a simple case of two people who just crossed paths, fell in love, had a child, and moved on with their lives? Or is there more to their "role" with bringing Walt into the “world”? After all this is LOST.
* "Not made for the open water." It's a good thing we find that out now, because later when Walt and Michael are released to find rescue we know they can't go any farther than 100 miles. I hope to heaven a big giant boat showed up for them!

I still feel Michael knows the truth about Walt, the island and his role, but he must not remember everything.
Again I can't help but wonder the parentage of Walt. Susan raises him and Michael does not. I still question the biology of Walt.
Call me crazy, even Superman was raised by another!

The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Understood? Good. Let the fun begin! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance. It will get very exciting as we progress into the story.

Underwater:
Sawyer pops up from the water to the sounds of Walt screaming out for “Dad”.
Michael crying out in desperation for Waaaaaalt!!
The Others took Walt. Whatever is left of the raft is on fire. Sawyer calls out for Mike while Michael cries out for Walt. {You can hear Jin say “Sawyer”}
Sawyer yells out for Jin, but Jin doesn’t reply. {Listen to the sounds and voices in the background.}
Sawyer makes his way to a piece of floating wreckage/junk in an attempt to get to Mike.“Hang on Mike!”
Michael just repeats “Walt” over and over.
Michael appears to black out and go underwater. Sawyer pulls Michael up onto a piece of raft. Mike is unconscious and seems to not be breathing and Sawyer tries to revive him by frantically pounding on his chest, “Mike! Mike! Mike!”
On Sawyer’s third strike to Mike’s chest...
The bright light goes off in the hatch.
Locke is still holding the “rope” {cable-vine} that was lowering Kate into the hatch. He yells down there for her. Locke ties up this cable-vine to a tree and goes in after Kate.
Sawyer continues CPR on Mike and saves Michael!
Right away Mike asks “Where’s Walt?”
Sawyer doesn’t know.
{Flash Whoosh}
“How'd you hurt your leg?” asks the attorney .
Michael, who is fidgeting with his walking stick/cane tells the lawyer he got hit by a car. {World Trade Center/Twin Towers is seen outside the window.}
The lawyer chats about the paperwork Michael’s ex-wife sent over.
Michael corrects him, “She's not my ex-wife, man. She's just...Walt's mother. She, uh, Susan, she just got a new job in Rome…the boyfriend... they want to take Walt with them.”
The lawyer tells him not to worry, “I'm going to take very good care of you, Mr. Dawn.”
Michael corrects him, “Dawson."
The lawyer is looking over the papers, “This boyfriend...this is this guy, Brian Porter?”
Michael wonders what it says.
The Lawyer-“It seems that Susan wants you to relinquish your rights as Walt's father so that Mr. Porter can adopt him. “
Michael’s upset that Susan wants him to sign his son away.
The lawyer-“It's the only way they can proceed with the adoption, yeah. Listen, if you sign this document...legally, he'll be no different than any other kid you pass on the street. You'll be giving up your paternal rights...All of them.”
Michael wonders if he can stop her from going. The lawyer mentions they could file and injunction so she couldn’t leave the city. Michael wants to do that.

He creeps his way around. He opens the blinds and reveals fake sunlight.
He hears Kate moaning. {Keep those thoughts clean, guys! Lol}
Kate's on the floor of the computer room; she was knocked out. As she’s waking up she warms Locke of a man behind him.
That man holds a rifle on Locke and asks, "Are you him? Are you him?"
Sawyer’s on the raft calling out for Jin.
Michael- “I thought we had to save our energy?”
They do, but Jin's still out there in the water, so if it's okay by Mike, Sawyer’s going to keep shouting for him. He continues calling out for Jin!”
Annoyed Michael asks Sawyer if he’s feeling guilty for making him fire the flare.
Sawyer-“I made you fire...What, this is my fault?”
Michael-“They took my son. They found us took Walt, because you made me fire the flare!” Sawyer feels at least Walt is on a boat, probably wrapped in a blanket with a cup of cocoa, while they’re on this piece of...Michael demands Sawyer get off of his raft. Something hits the bottom of the raft and they wonder what it is. There is something under there. We see an above shot of the water with a shark swimming by.
Floating on what's left of the raft, Michael remarks that Sawyer was able to hold on to his best friend {a gun}.
Michael-"...thing aint gonna work, anyway. You were underwater.”
Sawyer wonders what Hoss knows about guns anyway, “It’ll work.”
Sawyer removes the clip and pops out the bullets. He feels if the bullets are dry, the powders dry. The raft is bumped into hard by their underwater visitor causing Sawyer to drop the bullets. They realize it’s only a shark. Mike feels the shark is hanging around because of Sawyer’s bleeding shoulder.
Sawyer-“Oh, well, I'll just stop bleeding then. Did you suddenly forget what happened? Why I got shot?”
Michael- “What?”
Sawyer-“Hey, how about a little gratitude here? I'm mean, a thank you."
Michael-“Thank you? For what? For you trying to save your own ass?"
Sawyer-“You want me off this raft? You got it.”
Sawyer pulls/paddles with his one arm to get to another piece of raft.
Sawyer tells Mike, “I was trying to save your damn kid.”
{Flash Whoosh}
“Let's talk about Walt, shall we, Mr. Dawson?” asks Susan’s lawyer, Lizzy.
Lizzy-”When was the last time you actually saw your son?”
Michael-“Um, about a year ago."
Lizzy corrects him, “It was 14 months, actually. “
She wonders, “Why so long?”
Michael-“Susan took him to Amsterdam… for work. “ {History lesson, New York City was originally called New Amsterdam.}
Lizzy-“And you didn't have a problem with that?”
Michael-“Excuse me?”
Lizzy-“Well, since she's now going to Rome and you're filing an injunction. It just seems a little inconsistent to me.“
Michael-“Incon… no. No, no, no, no. ..She took him…I didn’t want her to go.”
Mike’s lawyer informs him that she’s baiting him. Michael says to Susan, “You said there was nothing I could do.”
Susan looks uncomfortable.
Lizzy-“And you didn't do anything, did you?”
Lizzy feels there is no answer to that question. “You were in an accident recently, no?”
Michael-“Yeah."
Lizzy-“You had several surgeries. Spent weeks in a private hospital room. Extensive rehabilitation. Who paid for all of that, Mr. Dawson?”
Michael is getting worked up and says to Susan, ”I didn't ask you for anything.”
Lizzy wants the court reporter to have the record reflect that Mr. Dawson acknowledged that Ms. Lloyd paid his bills."
Michael’s upset,”Susan! Tell them. Susan, tell them that I didn't ask you for anything.“ Apparently Michael is not to address Susan directly.
Lizzy asks Michael-“Do you know what Walt's first words were, Mr. Dawson?"
Michael-“I'm sorry, what?"
Lizzy-“His first words, do you know what they were?"
Michael-“I...no, I...I wasn't there."
Lizzy-“Do you know what his favorite food is? {Michael rolls his eyes but doesn’t say anything} Do you..."
Michael-“No.”
Michael’s lawyer feels this is unnecessary but Michael finally replies ‘no’ to her question.
Lizzy- “Well, for someone who wants to retain his paternal rights so badly you don't seem to know much about your son, Mr. Dawson.”
Michael-“I'm his father.”
Lizzy-“I'm sorry, could you say that louder please, just for the record.”
Michael repeats, “I'm his father.“ {Note there’s a man videotaping this meeting.}
{Flash Whoosh}
The full moon shines down on Michael and Sawyer, each on their pieces of raft wreckage. Sawyer is digging around his bullet wound. {It’s a good thing these two raft pieces don’t drift away from each other. Lol}
Michael asks Sawyer if he’s crazy,” You're going to take a bullet out with your bare hands.” He feels Sawyer will never be able to do it by himself, besides Sawyer thought they parted ways.
Michael-“We're caught in the same current.“
Sawyer is in pain and gathers nerve to dig at the wound. He screams as he pulls the bullet out. Sawyer asks Mike if he’s got a Band-aid and then Sawyer passes out.
“Are you... are you him?” Desmond asks Locke.
Locke stands up and states, “Yes. Yes I am.” {His first response is to say yes!} Desmond is relieved, “I can't believe it. You're finally here."
Locke smiles and says,”Well, here I am.”
Desmond asks who she is.
Locke helps Kate up and informs Desmond, “She's with me.”
Cautious Desmond asks him, “What did one snowman say to the other snowman?”
Locke doesn’t know what he’s talking about. Realizing Locke is ‘not him’, he demands Locke get rid of the knife. Locke tosses the knife and tries to explain to Desmond that they’re not there to hurt him. Desmond wonders why they came. Kate reveals they were in a plane crash.
Desmond-“Were you now? And when was that?”
Locke-“44 days ago.”
Desmond-“44 days? Move.”
As Desmond is moving his visitors along, Locke sees the wall is filled with strike marks in groups of five, indicating a counter/calendar. Locke asks him how long he’s been down there. Desmond tosses Kate a black power cord and tells Kate to tie Locke up.
Locke-“Wait. Wait, wait! You're tying up the wrong person.” He tells Des it's pointless to tie him up, he’s not dangerous. But her, she's a fugitive.
Desmond-“So, what does that make you then, brother?”
Locke-“I'm a regional collections manager for a cardboard manufacturer. Boxes primarily.”
Desmond-“All right then, box man, tie her up.
Kate doesn’t want Locke to touch her but he does tie her hands behind her back and he whispers to her, “I'm doing what's best for all of us. Locke slips a pocketknife in Kate's jeans. Kate struggles but they lock her up in a dark storage room.
At the caves Hurley asks Jack,” You're kidding, right? You're going back?”
Indeed he is.
Hurley-“What about all that stuff you said about waiting 'til morning and watching the sun rise?”
Jack changed his mind.
Claire asks Charlie, “What do you suppose all that's about?”
Charlie reckons Jack's going to do something heroic. Claire rolls her eyes at that. Then Claire remarks that Charlie always ‘tries’ to be funny when he doesn’t want to answer a question. She hands him the baby and he makes funny faces at Aaron. Claire finds a Virgin Mary statue and asks, “What's this?”
Charlie found it in the jungle, “Yeah. Be careful. Be careful with it. Hey, take Aaron. {Gives her the baby} You've got to be careful with it, you know. It's the Virgin Mary. She's holy.”
Claire didn’t realize Charlie was so religious. Charlie says he’s not, “It's just, you know, it might come in handy. It'd be a nice thing to have around.”
Mike and Sawyer float individually near each other on their rafts.
Sawyer-“It wasn't the flare. I said it wasn't the flare. Those people… that did this...at first I thought they were fisherman or pirates or something. Then I got a good look at their boat. You know anything about boats, Mike? A boat like that wasn't built for the open ocean. Water's coming over the side with the first little squall...maybe got a range of 100 miles. A boat like that had to have left port from somewhere close. Like the island. French chick said the Others were coming for a kid. I think they came, Mike.”
Sawyer feels he’s/Walt is the one they wanted and why he has a bullet in his shoulder, “Hell, Bluebeard blew us up because they wanted your kid.”
Michael-“Are you saying this is my fault?”
Yep, that’s what Sawyer is saying.
Michael feels they took his son because of Sawyer, “They were sailing away.”
Sawyer-“They found us because they were looking for us, for Walt."
Michael points something/stick at Sawyer and yells him, “Don't you ever say his name again, ever.”
Sawyer-“Oh, what are you gonna do? Splash me.“
So, childish Michael splashes Sawyer, and Sawyer's raft unravels.
Mike literally turns his back on him. Injured Sawyer and his gun make his way over to Mike’s tiny raft.
Sawyer-“Look, I know you...”
Pissed off Michael tells him to “Shut up! Don't EVEN… You have no idea what it's like to care for somebody else.“
{Flash Whoosh}
Susan is waiting for Michael in a lawyer-less office. She wanted to talk to him alone. Susan thinks he’s going to win.
Susan- “In court. I think you're going to keep me from leaving the country with Walt. I just have to ask you why?”
It’s because Walt’s Michael’s son.
Susan- “Since when, Michael? {Pretty important statement! Don't you think?} Look, I know you don't care about what's best for me, but in Rome I'll be senior partner at the firm. I'll be able to give Walt anything he needs. You're still on disability, Michael. You can't work. You're about to be evicted from your apartment.“
She had her lawyer’s checking up on him, “Just like you had your lawyers checking up on me. Nobody's winning here.”
Michael-"Then stop."
Susan-“Michael, the first thing you need to do is take care of yourself. You need to get healthy. You need to get back on your feet financially so you can get back to pursuing your art. You have rare talent as an artist, Michael. But how are you going to do that, any of that...and still be a part of Walt's life?"
Michael will do it by doing it; Walt’s his responsibility too.
Susan-“Then let him go. Because it's not about you or me, it’s about him. I don't want to go court, Michael. So please just let him go.”
Michael just looks at her.
{Flash Whoosh}
In the dark storage room Kate struggles to free her hands. Son of a bitch! She frees herself by using the pocket knife and cutting the black power cord cuffs. She feels her way around and turns on the light. She is in a food pantry that is stocked with goods! As she moves a box/crate to get up to the air/AC vent she finds an open tin labeled candy and is filled with Apollo Bars. She enjoys eating one and puts a bunch in her back pockets.
Kate climbs on a crate and opens the air/AC vent and climbs into it.
The bright fake/simulated sunlight pours into the hatch. Locke fills Desmond in on their arrival. “The pilot said we had lost radio contact, but by then we were already a thousand miles off course. Any search teams would have given up weeks ago.”
Armed Desmond-“So you were traveling from Sydney to Los Angeles?”
Locke says yes.
Des seems a bit amazed, “So the world is still out there?”
Locke-“As far as I know... Could you tell me your name?”
Des now seems baffled and asks, ”My name? My name is Desmond.”
Locke-“Desmond, I'm John. You should know the gun is really unnecessary.”
Des acts all tough for a second and then asks, “How many of you are there?”
Locke-“43, but 4 sailed out this morning on a raft.”
The raft idea amuses Desmond.
Locke wonders about that simulated sunlight “Is that because you never leave? Is there another way out?”
Desmond doesn’t even respond to those questions, he only wonders how many of John’s group have gotten sick; as in ill, as in dead! Locke asks if that’s why it says QUARANTINE on the inside of the hatch. Desmond just wants the answer.
Locke-“No one has. No one. No one is sick.”
All of a sudden there is beeping. {We get a shot of a speaker}
Kate crawls through the AC duct. {Another shot of a speaker}
Desmond demands John get up and shuffles him to the computer room. “Stand right there. Do you know how to use this, box man?”
Locke looks amazed-“I haven't seen one of those in 20 years.” But he knows how to use it. The countdown clock clicks down from 2:38 to 2:37 to 2:36.
Desmond wants him to, “Listen carefully, type in exactly what I tell you. Exactly, nothing else. 4, 8, 15... Did you hear that?”
Locke-“What?”
Desmond-”What did you just put in? What number did you just put in?“
Locke-“15”
Distracted Desmond continues, “Right, 16, 23, 42. Now press execute.”
Nervous John stalls, wanting to know what’s going to happen.
Desmond-“Just push it!”
Locke pushes EXECUTE and the timer resets to 108. They both seem relieved. {Execute- as in carry out fully, enforce or put to death?}
Jack calls out for Kate and Locke. Desmond wants to know who the hell that is.
Locke-“That would be Jack.”
Desmond looks through his fancy looking glass contraption of mirrors {adjusting a dial} and asks Locke whom that is.
Locke-“His, uh, his name is Jack. He's our doctor.”
Locke is a little surprised to see Jack there.
Desmond reveals Locke’s doctor has a gun and pushes brotha to move, “Make one sound and I'll shoot. Move.“
Desmond walks over to the stereo, flips a switch and blasts the record player {it scratches and the song plays “Make Your Own Kind of Music.}
Kate crawls through the vent.
Desmond threatens to shoot if Locke makes a sound then pushes him, “Move!”
From up in the vent Kate can see through the grid that Jack is looking around down below {there’s a sofa}. Kate calls out to him but he doesn’t hear her. Jack takes a closer look at the computer. The record scratches to a stop!
Locke is standing alone in the doorway, “I wouldn't do that, Jack.”
Pissed off Jack asks where Kate is.
Desmond stays hidden but points the gun at John’s head. “Move and I kill him. Put the gun down.“ {Kate has ringside seats!}
Jack just wants to know where Kate is. John says she’s fine and to put the gun down. Jack isn’t putting anything down.
Desmond shoots and it hits in the vicinity of Kate’s VIP seat.
Desmond-“Do you want him to die? Put it down.”
Jack-“Is this what you were talking about, Locke? Is this your destiny? All roads lead here?”
Calm Locke tells Jack to calm down.
Desmond scoots behind Locke and tells Jack to “Lower your gun or I'll blow his damned head off, brotha.”
Jack realizes something familiar. Desmond shows his face.
Jack- “You.“ {He gets a messed up look about him}
Michael and Sawyer sit in opposite directions on the raft. Sawyer decides to one arm pull himself over to one of the pontoons. Mike tells Sawyer to stop paddling because he’s putting a strain on the binds and it’s going to break them up. Determined Sawyer keeps on paddling. The raft starts to break apart and Sawyer falls off. Michael wants him to climb up.
Sawyer- “I do and we both sink. I'm going for the pontoon.”
He hands Mike the gun and tells him if he sees that toothy son of a bitch, you aim and squeeze. Sawyer makes break for the pontoon as Mike roots for him to make it. The shark shows up and Michael pulls the trigger but nothing happens.
Michael fires 5x and we see blood; he hit something. All is quiet; no shark, no Sawyer.
Michael calls out for Sawyer and paddles near the pontoon.
Sawyer pops up on the other side of the pontoon, “Give me your hand.”
Michael helps Sawyer climb onto the pontoon; then Mike joins him.
Michael with his cane sits on a park bench in a park. Susan and a young Walt meet up with Michael. Susan {Pearl earring.} apologizes that she’s late, “Packing's been a disaster and the plane leaves first thing in the morning.”
Susan asks Walt {stripe polo shirt} if he wants to say hi.
Michael-“Hi, Walt. I'm... I’m...hey, uh, {pulls a stuffed polar bear out of the bag.} this is for you, man. {To Susan} He like bears?“
Yes he likes bears, he’s just really shy.
Michael kneels down, looks deeply at Walt, “Hey little man, look. I guess I can't call you that, I mean, because look how big you are. So, you and I...well, we're not going to see each other for a while, Walt. But you are going to have...a great life. I know your mommy she's going to take real good care of you. And Brian is...going to take good care of you, too. But you know what? I just want you to know… that no matter where you go... I...That your daddy...Yeah, your daddy...he loves you very, very much. And I always will. Always, okay.“
Smiling Susan is sorry about this.
Michael is emotional, he hands her the bag and wants Walt to know its from him, “sometime”.
She says okay and goodbye.
Michael-“Yeah, bye.”
He is sad as he watches them walk away.
Michael is crying on the pontoon. {His hands against his head.} The sun is rising. Sawyer wakes up and asks Mike if he’s OK.
Michael feels it's his fault, “I never should have brought him on the raft. {Now motivated and determined} I'm going to get him back. I'm going to get back my son.”
Sawyer looks over to his right and sees that, “The current brought us back. We're home.” {Indeed. They are home.}
Sawyer and Michael make their way on shore.
They hear Jin yelling. Jin's comes running over to them with his arms tied behind his back. He falls; Michael unties him while Jin's rambles on in Korean. He’s trying to tell them something important.
Jin-“Utter! Utters!...Others.”
They all look over to see a tribal looking group of people. Others.
Adrift is a great episode!
The raft guys face one hell of a challenge and end up returning right back to where they started from.
They are literally drawn back to the Island because that is where they need to be and yes...these guys are really at home.
Things to Note...Questions to ask...
* Sawyer saves Michael's life. CPR. He should be a saint. Saint Sawyer, that works for me. He could have let Michael die but that's not what Sawyers all about.
* Save your energy.
* Simulated. Fake.
* Power cord. Computer. Speaker. Countdown clock/timer. Reset.
* Team. Challenge. Another way out-Exit-Escape. Win.
* Sawyer calls Michael-Mike.
* Desmond questions Locke. The lawyer questions Michael.
* Kate and Apollo bars. I can't help but wonder if those delicious treats contain a hallucinogen in it, to help keep them in an altered state or something. Remember, I feel that they may have an "altered" thing going on; their minds would have to be altered. That could be done with hallucinogens in food, candy, gas, injections, brain washing, etc. This is just a thought. But the candy has to have some importance.
* Susan has lots of money and a powerful job with people in high places. We should all be so lucky. lol!
*"She is just Walt's mother"...Was she just the carrier of "Walt" or carrier of something else? Is Michael a carrier of something? Is this a simple case of two people who just crossed paths, fell in love, had a child, and moved on with their lives? Or is there more to their "role" with bringing Walt into the “world”? After all this is LOST.
* "Not made for the open water." It's a good thing we find that out now, because later when Walt and Michael are released to find rescue we know they can't go any farther than 100 miles. I hope to heaven a big giant boat showed up for them!

Who is Desmond, the man in control of the electronics/mechanics of things inside the hatch? He must be important.
I still feel Michael knows the truth about Walt, the island and his role, but he must not remember everything.
Again I can't help but wonder the parentage of Walt. Susan raises him and Michael does not. I still question the biology of Walt.
Call me crazy, even Superman was raised by another!

Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right. The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either. You all know I hate spoilers, and I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Understood? Good. Let the fun begin! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance. It will get very exciting as we progress into the story.

Left Behind.
Let's talk about LOST! Left Behind.
Kate sits up against the pool table holding a pool cue in the Others game room. She is cuffed and seems antsy. The game Mouse Trap is by the window. She sees Juliet walk by the window. Kate is going to sneak attack Juliet with the pool cue.
Juliet enters. Almost as if prepared for Kate's attack Juliet ducks and flips Kate to the ground! Juliet was only bringing her something to eat. {Sandwich. Broken Plate.} Juliet is wearing the same blue top as the day she's to leave with Jack.
{Flash}
The song Walking After Midnight is heard. We see open rural farmland. "Kate's" car is broken down. Her car gets lifted for a tow and is told her fan belt is shot. The tow guy tells her it will take "Two days. Maybe three." {For a friggin' fan belt? Doesn't he have any at the Service Station?}
Kate comments on that same thing!
He says, "Welcome to Iowa." {Is she new to Iowa?!! Her cap has a cowboy on it. Cowboy up! Sawyer reference}
They drive off. {Johnny's towing. 24 hrs}
Her name is Lucy.
The tow truck pulls up to the Service Station where we see a woman selling/scamming 18 karat gold jewelry to a guy in a plaid shirt. We hear her claim they retail for 500 bucks. The guy tells her "Those don't look real. I'm not buying them."
The Con something about going out of business and insists they're real. {Note blue seats on the porch; very Sawyer. Iowa license plate 41g ncj in the windshield.}
Johnny offers Lucy a lift into town. The guy in the plaid shirt tells him to call the cops; he knows he's getting scammed. "Those are fake necklaces and you're a rip off artist."
Again the con insists they are real. Lucy comes to her rescue and plays along with the con; buying one of the necklaces.
Lucy claims her father owns s a jewelry shop, "I think I can spot a fake."
For 60 bucks she'll take the one on the end. With the transaction complete and everyone leaves. Lucy asks the con for her money back. {Kate in cap, army jacket and back pack.}
Lucy helped her, "Just one girl watching another girls' back. I guess."
The con- "Or you're stranded here and for some reason you don't want that guy calling the cops." {BINGO! Yeah the con knows.}
She'll give Lucy a ride into town for a drink.
Cuffed Kate fiddles with the white pieces/markers of the backgammon game. John comes in with his right hand bandaged.
Kate- "Did they capture you too?"
John says yes, but only temporarily. {Two guards outside. Broken plates still there.} John came to say goodbye because he's leaving with them.
Kate-"What the hell is going on? I mean, what are they doing to you? Are you brainwashed? Where did Jack go?"
{Yes! Where did Jack go?! Maybe he's off somewhere having a Flash/back/forward/memory while he's sleeping!?}
John says Jack didn't go anywhere, "He's going to have to stay behind like you."
Kate tells him he can't trust them. If they told him they were going to take him home they're lying.
John- "I don't want to go home, Kate. I want you to know I made a strong case for you. I told them that you were a good person. Reliable, smart. Honest. And then they told me who you were and what you had done. Let's just say forgiveness isn't one of their strong suits… Good Luck."
Kate asks where he's going.
John tells the guards, "Coming out."
Kate stops him and asks about Jack, Sayid and Rousseau, but John doesn't answer her.
Sawyer is sitting in his old blue airplane seat, Watership down, looking out to the water. {Again, looking like he stepped out of Everyman for Himself.}
Hurley kicks his foot and tells Sawyer not to look at him and pretend they're not talking.
Hurley- "I'm not supposed to be here." {WOW!!} He tells Sawyer there's been some chatter, "After Paulo and Nikki and everything. Tomorrow there's gonna be a vote."
They're going to vote whether or not to banish him from the camp. There was debate about where to banish him; the consensus was ½ a mile down the beach. Sawyer looks around to see the camp functioning as if nothing is wrong. Hurley is telling him this because there may be a way to fix it, to make amends.
Sawyer- "I don't do amends."
Hurley tells him to ask himself about all the good stuff that comes with being part of this society. Sawyer can't even feed himself. He uses their latrine, drinks the water that Steve brings every morning to the trough. {Horse drinks out of that.}
Sawyer looks at a watch and says "You know how for 3 days 10 hrs and 15 minutes I ain't allowed to use nicknames? Well you, sir, Hugo are Rotund, annoying and you're ruining my damn view! How's that for amends?"
Hurley tells him he's making a big mistake.
Flies gather around the sandwich on the floor from Juliet and Kate's tiff. Cuffed Kate is {waking up} lying on the floor. She eyes the old sandwich and takes a bite of the white bread. {Why would Kate voluntarily sleep on the floor with the broken plate and old food? She could have napped on the sofa. So…Time line? Flashes in order? When is this scene really from?!!!}
The commotion from outside makes her go to the window to check it out. She sees the Others with their back packs and bags, putting on gas masks and they are armed. The door to the game room opens and one of them tosses a gas can in with Kate. She tries to escape it, fight off the gas but it knocks her out.
In a bar we get a shot of a pool table.
Lucy and Cassidy are in a bar chatting and doing shots.
Cassidy asks her name. She tells her it's Lucy. Cassidy asks her "real name" but Lucy doesn't answer. Cassidy directs her the next time somebody asks you, you don't think about it, not even for a second. Lucy chose that alias. She explains 'Lucy's a saint'. She memorized them all from Sunday school; they were all probably rattling around in her brain. Lucy shares why a Sunday school girl is afraid of cops. She tells Cassidy that a few months ago she killed her step father and she escaped from the marshal who arrested her for it.
Cassidy asks why.
Lucy- "Cause he was a bad guy." {Who is she talking about, the marshal or step father?} She also reveals she's in Iowa to talk to her mother.
Cassidy- "If you did, what you just said you did, the feds are gonna be watching her. 24/7."
Lucy/Kate-"What? You wanna help me?"
Cassidy will. {Of course she will. She has to.}
Because Cassidy fell in love with the wrong guy and then gave him her life savings. He conned and embarrassed her; he was a bad guy. She will help Lucy get the meeting with her mom because one of them deserves something good.

Kate is waking up in the jungle. She opens her eyes looks up and sees PALM TREES! A second after blinking she is seeing DIFFERENT KIND OF TREES!! {We were just shown two versions; Two DIFFERENT THINGS!}
Kate jolts up discovering her left wrist is cuffed to Juliet's right wrist. Kate looks bewildered.
Sawyer is fishing. He looks over to Jin and Sun who are fishing a little further away. He smiles at Sun but she's not having it! "I ain't gonna get the Korean vote."
Sawyer's inexperience as a fisherman is obvious. He catches and cleans a fish. {Catfish?} Sawyer heads over to Hurley who is doing his laundry. Sawyer tells him he's "Ready to make amends. Change the vote."
Hurley tells him he stinks, "Is that fish? Did you try to gut one on yourself? How have you not learned that by now? We've been here like, three months?"
Sawyer wants to get going on the making amends thing. Hurley wants him to apologize for calling him all those names.
Sawyer- "I'm really sorry I called you rotund."
Sawyer wants to spread the love! {Spread the love my way!}
Kate gingerly takes the pocket knife from Juliet's front pocket. {How convenient that it's right there!} Juliet jolts awake instinctively ready for defense. She grabs Kate's wrist, "What the hell am I doing here?"
Both say they don't know what they're doing there.
Kate uses the knife to try to get out of the cuffs. Juliet recalls she was making a cup of tea and a canister came in through the window.
Kate asks her what she did to piss him off. Juliet tells her she's wasting her time as the knife is too big and she needs something smaller like a safety pin. {A safety pin! YES!}
Kate- "We're going back."
Juliet- "What? They did this to us. Why would we go back?"
Kate,- "You say THEY like you didn't lock me in a cage and watch me break rocks all day. We're going back to your village because my friends are probably gassed just like us."
Kate tells her, her people are packed up and gone; Locke said goodbye and told her they were taking off.
Juliet asks to where.
Kate- "Welcome to the world of not knowing what the hells going on."
{Flash}
Lucy/Kate pulls a case on wheels and knocks on the door 5x {Door F.}
Diane, Kate's mother answers the door and looks at her. "Go, Go, Go!"
Guns, Marshal Mars yells at Lucy/Kate- "Get down. On the ground! Let me see those hands!" Marshals swarm the place.
Mars- "Long time no see, Austen."
Mars turns her over and reveals it's not Kate! {Decoy} She says she's just selling bibles. Mars opens the case grabs the red bible. {Of course.}
Kate sits in a car watching this through binoculars.
Cassidy knocks on the hotel room door 5x. {Coffee} Cassidy takes off her wig and tells Lucy she was questioned for ½ hour. They confiscated her case, "It's a good thing I know how to lie."
Lucy, drinking coffee, "At least we know what we're up against."
{We're? Also note five spoons in the cup. I know, I'm insane.}
Cassidy tells her there were six guys waiting to take her down. Lucy will figure it out.
Cassidy- "That marshal. I don't know what you did to him, but if he ever gets his hands on you, it's gonna be you or him." {Interesting!}
Lucy tells her it's OK if she changed her mind about helping.
Cassidy will help her; but if she's going to keep lying to federal agents for her so she can have a chat with her mother, she needs to know that's there's a pretty good reason. {No she doesn't.}
Lucy tells her he used to get drunk and beat up my mom. So I blew up his house. Made it look like an accident; A gas leak. She took out an insurance policy on the house for her; Set her up for life. Mom gave her up, chose him over me. "So the reason I have to talk to her is…Someone, I love, who's supposed to care about me, betrayed me. And I wanna know why!"
Kate’s looking for a trail at night. She’s cuffed to Juliet. Kate starts to walk away and Juliet tugs her back.
Juliet- "It's gonna rain. Don't you think we should wait till morning?"
Kate pulls her and says "No."
They walk through the jungle in the dark.
Kate asks her why they would handcuff "You to me, and drag us out into the jungle?"
Juliet shares that Ben has a thing for mind games.
Kate-"Is that why he left you behind?"
Juliet is not in the mood to talk.
Thunder and rain starts up. Kate wants to keep moving so she doesn't lose the trail in the rain.
Juliet- "I hope you're not dragging me all the way back there with you for him…..I hope you're not going back for Jack." {She made a rhyme! lol}
Juliet tells her she was standing right there when he told Kate not to come back, "And now that you ruined his chance to get off the Island…"
Kate punches her right in the face! They fight in the rain and mud! Kate gets Juliet's arm behind her back, "Are you done?"
Juliet starts screaming in pain.
Kate apologizes; she didn't mean to…The monster is released!
Juliet- "What the hell is that?"
Juliet informs Kate her shoulder is dislocated. {Left one.} Kate has them hide in a banyan tree but the monster is right there! Juliet looks at it and it starts flashing bright light at her. She shields her eyes but does look at it again. It flashes some more and then seems to recoil away! It's gone.
Juliet asks Kate if they're safe.
Kate- "You tell me."
Night on the beach:
Claire is tending to the baby. A few feet away Sawyer tells Hurley, "I aint kissing no damn baby."
Hurley coaches Sawyer- "Claire's like really influential. If she votes for you to stay, then you're home free, Dude....Moms love it when you show an interest in their babies."
He suggests a nice gesture to her would be to call her Claire, give her a blanket for Aaron and say something nice about the baby.
Sawyer heads over, says hi to Claire and Aaron. He just came by to say, "Your baby's not as wrinkly as he was a couple of weeks ago."
Claire finds this cute and true. Sawyer gets thumbs up from Hurley.
Back in the banyan trees Juliet asks Kate if it's gone and are they safe.
Kate asks her if she's serious, "You've never seen that before?"
Juliet- "If you don't believe me, you can always pull my other shoulder out of its socket."
Juliet tells Kate this is the 4th time her shoulder's been dislocated. Kate has to pop it back in.
Kate doesn't want to!
Juliet- "You're gonna. Right now if feels like there's broken glass under my skin and if it weren't for you, I would be on my way home right now."
Kate shares Jack told her not to come back to protect her. Juliet admits that they have cameras on the cages so Jack saw her and Sawyer. The reason Jack told Kate not to come back is because she broke his heart, "So, grab my wrist, push up and twist!"
Kate does. {Could this be the 4th time she and Kate have run this scenario?}
Desmond and Sawyer are out very early boar hunting. {Looking very army-like.}
Des explains getting up early, "This is when they break cover to eat."
Sawyer- "Looks like they picked a day to sleep in."
Desmond asks him his angle.
Sawyer hasn't spoken three words to him and suddenly he wants to be his hunting partner.
Sawyer- "My angle is, I got hearts and minds to change. And politics is all about bribes. Since money don't mean squat on this Island, I gotta give the people something they like. And people like meat."
Desmond shoots a boar.
It's Daylight and the ladies are still hiding in the tree.
Juliet is awake; Kate jolts awake. Juliet's shoulder is awesome so they move on.
{Flash}
Cassidy is sitting in a diner. She's wearing glasses.
Diane is the waitress who serves Cassidy a huge bowl of soup. {Blue name tag.} Cassidy purposely knocks the soup onto Diane.
Diane washes up in the rest room. {View via the mirror. Note wedding ring.} Kate is there to see her. Diane calls her Katherine. She wants to know what she's doing here.
Kate wants to know why she told them what she did to Wayne.
Diane hoped she came there to say she was sorry but Kate is not sorry. "He treated you like a dog."
Diane explains that you can't help who you love and for good or bad, she loved him.
Diane- "And you burnt him alive. You turned on the gas and you lit a match. You murdered him in cold blood."
Kate says she did it for her. Diane says she did it for herself.
Diane- "I have to go back to work. Because you are my daughter I'm not gonna tell the two men sitting who are sitting at the table who have been following me for the last month that you are here. But I swear to god Katie if I ever see you again, the first thing I will do is yell for help. Goodbye." Diane leaves and Kate cries. {View via the mirror.}
On their trek back Kate asks Juliet, "Did he say that to you?...That I broke his heart."
Juliet- "He didn't have to."
Kate- "You don't know anything about him."
Juliet- "I know where he was born. I know what his parent's did for a living. I know that he was married, and to who he was married to. I know why he got a divorce. I know how his father died. I know his height, his weight. His birthday, and his blood type. What do you know about him, Kate."
They take a few steps and "Monster" sounds! Kate tells Juliet to run.
They run and fall into mud and then get up and run right to the security fence. Kate stops dead in her tracks because she knows what happens when you step through those things so she suggests we will go along side them.
Juliet- "No Kate, they're off, we don't need to… we can go around, they're off!"
The monster is getting closer. Juliet takes the key to the cuffs from her back pocket and un-cuff's herself. She runs to a keypad on one of the pylons, uses both hands to finger in the code {16, 23. So is the full code 4 8 15 16 23 42?}
The monster is closer!
Juliet tells Kate "You're gonna wanna be over here."
Kate is petrified, Juliet is not. Kate joins her on the other side of the fence. Juliet activates the fence and the smoke monster literally bangs into the invisible fence. Juliet stands there and looks directly at it.
The "monster" "runs away". Kate's pissed.
Juliet claims, "We don't know what it is. But we know that it doesn't like our fences."
Kate's not interested in that; she's mad that Juliet had a key. {Juliet must know LOTS about the smoke monster!}
Juliet piles on the crap about the people she lived with for the past three years left her behind too. They gassed her, "I thought that maybe, maybe if I could make you think that we were in it together. Maybe I wouldn't get left behind again." {GO RE-READ THAT WHOLE BIT!}
Kate takes the key from her, removes her cuff and walks away.
Pig Roast at the beach: {boar roast actually.} Sawyer is cooking. Everyone's eating and drinking, having a nice day. Charlie tells Sawyer this is wonderful.
Sawyer-"Some Dharma A-1 and Paprika. I hope you remember this little barbecue at your meeting later."
Charlie- "What meeting?"
Hurley told Sawyer about the vote.
Charlie-"Since when does anyone around here vote?"
Sawyer realizes he was conned so he confronts Hurley, "There never was gonna be no vote."
Hurley- "Wasn't it nice, just being nice?"
Sawyer- "You tricked me into being decent. That's gotta be the lamest cons in the history of cons!"
Hurley tells him it wasn't a con, "If you're gonna be our temporary leader you need to do some damage control."
Sawyer-"Leader? What the hell are you smoking?"
Hurley- "Jack's gone. Locke's gone. Kate and Sayid. You're all we got."
He goes on to say when Nikki and Paulo died they all looked to him. Even though he tried to steal the diamonds they wanted to look to him {WTF? No. When Sawyer wanted to help investigate things, Hurley was suspicious of him.} "Look around. You made everyone happy. Just for today, they can eat boar, laugh and forget that they are totally screwed. And you did that for them, Dude. You."
Sawyer- "What if I don't want to be the leader?"
Hurley explains that he didn't think Jack wanted it either. Sucks for you, dude." {So does being in the leadership role suck?! It isn't a good place to be? Interesting!}
We see that the camp is enjoying their day; Laughing, eating, drinking and sharing.
Sun sees Sawyer hold Aaron and Sawyer smiles at her but she's still not having it.
Kate and Juliet arrive at the abandoned barracks.
Juliet mentions Sayid's in one of those backyards, she'll get him. Juliet tells Kate to go get Jack. Kate enters the 'house' Jack is in. {Note 2 canisters, broken dish? Pillows. He gets 2 canisters!}
Jack is unconscious in the hallway. Kate tells him to wake up and Jack jolts awake! He asks, what happened.
Kate informs him they all left, "Because of me. I'm so sorry. I should have listened to you. I never… I wanted to come back to help you. But you didn't need me to. And now because of me, you can't go." She cries, "I'm so sorry. I am so sorry."
Confused Jack asks- "They just…left?…Even, Even Juliet?"
Kate says no they left her too.
Jack asks why.
Kate- "You know her better that I do….Now what?"
Jack-"Now we go back."
{Flash}
At the service station: Cassidy brings Lucy back. {Hmmmm!} Lucy looks at 'her car' in the garage {plate –Missouri 4ON DVB} and thanks Cassidy for everything.
Lucy- "So, this guy who ripped you off. Will you give me his name? Tell me where I can find him?…You almost got arrested for me, Cassidy. I want to help you."
Cassidy tells her she's pregnant and "It's his. The baby's his. And I still love him."
Kate tells her to call the cops; have him locked up.
Cassidy asks her if she'll ever forgive her mom for calling the cops?
Lucy-"No. No I won't."
Cassidy- "Thanks Lucy."
Lucy- "My name's Kate."
Kate gets out the SUV.
Back at the barracks Jack heads straight to Juliet to ask if she's OK. Sayid tells Jack he checked all the houses, "Everyone's gone. No weapons. No trail. It's like 50 people disappeared into thin air."
Jack, still the leader tells them they "should take what they can find and head out while we still got light."
Sayid-"She's not coming with us."
Jack gives him a look, "Yes, she is."
Sayid- “Why?”
Jack-"Because they left her behind too."
Jack, Juliet, Sayid and Kate, all with their back packs, leave the barracks.
Left Behind is a Great Episode!!!!
Talk about literally being bound to pain and broken hearts. This episode brings us back to Hearts and Minds. That episode showed us that Locke knows how to use of the land/island (magic paste/hallucinogen) and bring "experiences" to people; experiences that are vital to their survival on the "island".
Things to Note…Questions to ask…
* EYES! I'm sure by now I have you all on a mission of watching everyone's eye color change or intensify. Everyone on "Island" and Flashes.
* Different versions of things. Different Times on the "Island"?
* FARM: Plant, nurture, harvest.
* Juliet always has something in her "back pocket".
* Different diner for Diane?
* Juliet on the "Island" for three years and Desmond for three years. Did they come together, or should we just throw out the whole three years crap out because one or both of them have always been there? There, I said it.
* Alright, Juliet proves she knows details about Jack. How did she acquire such detailed details? When the "crash" happened Ben tells Mikhail he wants files on everybody. If someone were to acquire a file on you, your personal life, they still would not get intimate details to your life. So, with that said, is it possible that these files on Jack and the Losties are already filled, just waiting to be pulled out of a file drawer/box from somewhere on the "Island"? I'm just asking!!! Their whole life, whether it's scripted, planned out, lived already and notes taken/kept, what ever, it's already in a complete A-Z biography for each person.
* Plates. Broken Plates.
* REAL-FAKE
* Things made to look like an accident.
* Gas. Going to sleep. Knocked out.
* Coaching. Guiding.
* Decoy people- Decoy props- Decoy Costumes-Fakes!
* Clues to things having to be rehearsed/memorized. Drills/exercise.
* Cassidy admits to knowing how to lie. Juliet knows how to lie. Maybe they had the same teacher.
* What did Kate do to the marshal? What did Kate really do?
* Sawyer should know how to fend for himself especially if he's lived that "Island" life before.
* Juliet's shoulder dislocated. Jack's shoulder dislocated in The Moth.
* "What did you do to piss them off?" is also mentioned in Hearts and Minds regarding Locke.
* Juliet involved in the plan to gas the barracks. So how would that fit in to her plan to "leave" with Jack?
* Jack knows what Ben considers to be home. Maybe that's what Jack considers to be home too.
* Coincidence that Kate and Cassidy are in the same scene/set up? Coincidence that Kate and Juliet are in the same set up? Come on!
* John doesn't want to go "HOME", yet is moving on.
* Hurley feels there is good stuff that comes with being part of this society!
* Is Kate on the light/white side?
* How far back does Jack and Juliet's relationship/connection really go?
* Games. Chess, Mouse trap, Backgammon.
* Kate waking up in the jungle and seeing the different trees. It was very important for me to show you this because it shows us, "flashes/Island" time being either out of time order or different from another "Island" visits, or both. Return "visits" to the "Island", YES. The same storyline on the "Island" over and over. Are things slightly different every time they have these return "visits"? Remember, in addition to the tress here we have the "Charlie don't swim, then he does swim" example, two different lotto tickets for Hurley, and the list goes on.
* Now for fun, what if we throw the possibility of twins or replicas. Two identical looking sets of people…Imagine witnessing the exact set of scenarios played out by two identical looking sets of people. Which team makes the better decisions? lol. The wreckage of Oceanic flight 815 will be found. Maybe there be a set of identical looking people in it.
* The eye color changes have to fit in somewhere with either return visits, consciousness/altered/hallucination state or twin/replica. Which one do you think it is?
* Monster Time: There are so many sounds associated with the monster. Is there a possibility that it gets released from somewhere? There must be a place he/it lives? One of the sounds we hear is almost like a giant heavy door/gate of some sort that gets opened. Then there are the other sounds like, gears, metal, giant footsteps, growls, grunts, breathing, clicking, etc.. Do the hatches have anything to do with the monster? Is there only one monster? If the smoke monster morphs, what determines if it's in the mood to morph to fool someone or stay in smoke state? What about it's flashing bright light? Scanning images from the person it's confronting? Is it taking pictures/images from the person or is it putting images in? Maybe just checking things out or making the person take a look at the things they need to confront. Besides, you already know that I think it connects to someone in particular.(wink, wink)
* There are certain things in our story that remind me of episodes of The Twilight Zone. LOST deals with many of the same topics; "time" being a large part of it.
* Ben and mind games...I'm sure he's isn't the only one with this gift of mind games.
* Politics. Government. Vote. We have political issues abound. I think we've established by this point that there always two sides involved. Politics has made its presence known on the island. Government has been brought to the surface. Even in a Utopian society you need rules. Rules need people to govern them.
Vocabulary and Research...
* Apollo- In Greek and Roman mythology, is one of the most important and many-sided of the Olympian deities. Apollo has been recognized as a god of LIGHT and the sun; truth, prophecy, archery, medicine, healing; music, poetry, the arts; and more. Apollo has a twin sister, the chaste huntress Artemis.
* Mars was the Roman god of war, and the son of Juno and Jupiter. As the word Mars has no Indo-European derivation, it is most likely the Latin form of the agricultural Etruscan god Maris. Initially the Roman god of fertility and vegetation and a protector of cattle, fields and boundaries.
The two names I mention here all encompass major themes, issues in our story. This also included some islander's traits, roles or jobs in our story too.
* The Etruscans: Believed to be one, if not the, world's oldest civilization. They were a people of unknown origin living in Northern Italy, who were eventually integrated into Roman culture and politically became part of the Roman Republic. As distinguished by its own language, the civilization endured from an unknown prehistoric time prior to the foundation of Rome until its complete assimilation to Italic Rome in the Roman Republic. Like the Egyptians, the Etruscans believed in eternal life.
Then we have other ancient civilizations that have similar ties to what we see in the show.
The MU civilization. Hypothetical lost continent located in the S. Pacific before it sank beneath the waters, similar to Atlantis and Lemuria. In either case, the issue of Plate Tectonics fits in here.
* Left – Simple past tense and past participle of leave. The left side. The west side of the body when one is facing north. Opposite of right side.(politics). The ensemble of left-wing political parties. Port Is a Synonym.
* Left Behind: A Novel of the Earth's Last Days. A Christian series of books.
* Chatter in the speech sense - to talk noisily or conversationally. Talk, especially meaningless or unimportant talk.
-An intermittent noise, as from vibration.
-The sound made by a MAGPIE.
-In electronics, the unwanted bouncing of switch or relay contacts.
-In signal intelligence, encrypted electronic signals to be subjected to Traffic analysis.

* Hearts and Minds was a euphemism for a campaign by the United States military during the Vietnam War, intended to win the popular support of the Vietnamese people.

* Latrine is also a term common in the US Military which a civilian might call a bathroom or toilet. Called Head in watercraft.
* Buck(s)- The male of various species of animal, including human male.
-Examples of slang words for Buck(s)- an aboriginal male.

-Cameron "Buck" Williams is a character in the Left Behind series.
-Buck Cluck is the father of the film version of Chicken Little.
* 3- The trinity. The number combines 1+2. That includes ALL life and experience. Birth-Life-Death. Mind-Body-Soul. Past-Present-Future. Man-Woman-Child.
* 5- The 5 human senses. Or, on a human figure, a line joining the head to outstretched arms and legs forms a pentagram. Or simply that Muslims pray 5x a day.
Left behind? Who? We know the “Island” has "magnetic" properties so let's imagine in a sense the "Island" is one big giant magnet constantly pulling them all back. They always come back!

Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right! The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either! You all know I hate spoilers! And I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Understood? Good! Let the fun begin! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance! It will get very exciting as we progress into the story.
Kate sits up against the pool table holding a pool cue in the Others game room. She is cuffed and seems antsy. The game Mouse Trap is by the window. She sees Juliet walk by the window. Kate is going to sneak attack Juliet with the pool cue.
Juliet enters. Almost as if prepared for Kate's attack Juliet ducks and flips Kate to the ground! Juliet was only bringing her something to eat. {Sandwich. Broken Plate.} Juliet is wearing the same blue top as the day she's to leave with Jack.
{Flash}
The song Walking After Midnight is heard. We see open rural farmland. "Kate's" car is broken down. Her car gets lifted for a tow and is told her fan belt is shot. The tow guy tells her it will take "Two days. Maybe three." {For a friggin' fan belt? Doesn't he have any at the Service Station?}
Kate comments on that same thing!
He says, "Welcome to Iowa." {Is she new to Iowa?!! Her cap has a cowboy on it. Cowboy up! Sawyer reference}
They drive off. {Johnny's towing. 24 hrs}
Her name is Lucy.
The tow truck pulls up to the Service Station where we see a woman selling/scamming 18 karat gold jewelry to a guy in a plaid shirt. We hear her claim they retail for 500 bucks. The guy tells her "Those don't look real. I'm not buying them."
The Con something about going out of business and insists they're real. {Note blue seats on the porch; very Sawyer. Iowa license plate 41g ncj in the windshield.}
Johnny offers Lucy a lift into town. The guy in the plaid shirt tells him to call the cops; he knows he's getting scammed. "Those are fake necklaces and you're a rip off artist."
Again the con insists they are real. Lucy comes to her rescue and plays along with the con; buying one of the necklaces.
Lucy claims her father owns s a jewelry shop, "I think I can spot a fake."
For 60 bucks she'll take the one on the end. With the transaction complete and everyone leaves. Lucy asks the con for her money back. {Kate in cap, army jacket and back pack.}
Lucy helped her, "Just one girl watching another girls' back. I guess."
The con- "Or you're stranded here and for some reason you don't want that guy calling the cops." {BINGO! Yeah the con knows.}
She'll give Lucy a ride into town for a drink.
Kate- "Did they capture you too?"
John says yes, but only temporarily. {Two guards outside. Broken plates still there.} John came to say goodbye because he's leaving with them.
Kate-"What the hell is going on? I mean, what are they doing to you? Are you brainwashed? Where did Jack go?"
{Yes! Where did Jack go?! Maybe he's off somewhere having a Flash/back/forward/memory while he's sleeping!?}
John says Jack didn't go anywhere, "He's going to have to stay behind like you."
Kate tells him he can't trust them. If they told him they were going to take him home they're lying.
John- "I don't want to go home, Kate. I want you to know I made a strong case for you. I told them that you were a good person. Reliable, smart. Honest. And then they told me who you were and what you had done. Let's just say forgiveness isn't one of their strong suits… Good Luck."
Kate asks where he's going.
John tells the guards, "Coming out."
Kate stops him and asks about Jack, Sayid and Rousseau, but John doesn't answer her.
Hurley kicks his foot and tells Sawyer not to look at him and pretend they're not talking.
Hurley- "I'm not supposed to be here." {WOW!!} He tells Sawyer there's been some chatter, "After Paulo and Nikki and everything. Tomorrow there's gonna be a vote."
They're going to vote whether or not to banish him from the camp. There was debate about where to banish him; the consensus was ½ a mile down the beach. Sawyer looks around to see the camp functioning as if nothing is wrong. Hurley is telling him this because there may be a way to fix it, to make amends.
Sawyer- "I don't do amends."
Hurley tells him to ask himself about all the good stuff that comes with being part of this society. Sawyer can't even feed himself. He uses their latrine, drinks the water that Steve brings every morning to the trough. {Horse drinks out of that.}
Sawyer looks at a watch and says "You know how for 3 days 10 hrs and 15 minutes I ain't allowed to use nicknames? Well you, sir, Hugo are Rotund, annoying and you're ruining my damn view! How's that for amends?"
Hurley tells him he's making a big mistake.
Flies gather around the sandwich on the floor from Juliet and Kate's tiff. Cuffed Kate is {waking up} lying on the floor. She eyes the old sandwich and takes a bite of the white bread. {Why would Kate voluntarily sleep on the floor with the broken plate and old food? She could have napped on the sofa. So…Time line? Flashes in order? When is this scene really from?!!!}
The commotion from outside makes her go to the window to check it out. She sees the Others with their back packs and bags, putting on gas masks and they are armed. The door to the game room opens and one of them tosses a gas can in with Kate. She tries to escape it, fight off the gas but it knocks her out.
In a bar we get a shot of a pool table.
Lucy and Cassidy are in a bar chatting and doing shots.
Cassidy asks her name. She tells her it's Lucy. Cassidy asks her "real name" but Lucy doesn't answer. Cassidy directs her the next time somebody asks you, you don't think about it, not even for a second. Lucy chose that alias. She explains 'Lucy's a saint'. She memorized them all from Sunday school; they were all probably rattling around in her brain. Lucy shares why a Sunday school girl is afraid of cops. She tells Cassidy that a few months ago she killed her step father and she escaped from the marshal who arrested her for it.
Cassidy asks why.
Lucy- "Cause he was a bad guy." {Who is she talking about, the marshal or step father?} She also reveals she's in Iowa to talk to her mother.
Cassidy- "If you did, what you just said you did, the feds are gonna be watching her. 24/7."
Lucy/Kate-"What? You wanna help me?"
Cassidy will. {Of course she will. She has to.}
Because Cassidy fell in love with the wrong guy and then gave him her life savings. He conned and embarrassed her; he was a bad guy. She will help Lucy get the meeting with her mom because one of them deserves something good.

Kate is waking up in the jungle. She opens her eyes looks up and sees PALM TREES! A second after blinking she is seeing DIFFERENT KIND OF TREES!! {We were just shown two versions; Two DIFFERENT THINGS!}
Kate jolts up discovering her left wrist is cuffed to Juliet's right wrist. Kate looks bewildered.
Sawyer is fishing. He looks over to Jin and Sun who are fishing a little further away. He smiles at Sun but she's not having it! "I ain't gonna get the Korean vote."
Sawyer's inexperience as a fisherman is obvious. He catches and cleans a fish. {Catfish?} Sawyer heads over to Hurley who is doing his laundry. Sawyer tells him he's "Ready to make amends. Change the vote."
Hurley tells him he stinks, "Is that fish? Did you try to gut one on yourself? How have you not learned that by now? We've been here like, three months?"
Sawyer wants to get going on the making amends thing. Hurley wants him to apologize for calling him all those names.
Sawyer- "I'm really sorry I called you rotund."
Sawyer wants to spread the love! {Spread the love my way!}
Kate gingerly takes the pocket knife from Juliet's front pocket. {How convenient that it's right there!} Juliet jolts awake instinctively ready for defense. She grabs Kate's wrist, "What the hell am I doing here?"
Both say they don't know what they're doing there.
Kate uses the knife to try to get out of the cuffs. Juliet recalls she was making a cup of tea and a canister came in through the window.
Kate asks her what she did to piss him off. Juliet tells her she's wasting her time as the knife is too big and she needs something smaller like a safety pin. {A safety pin! YES!}
Kate- "We're going back."
Juliet- "What? They did this to us. Why would we go back?"
Kate,- "You say THEY like you didn't lock me in a cage and watch me break rocks all day. We're going back to your village because my friends are probably gassed just like us."
Kate tells her, her people are packed up and gone; Locke said goodbye and told her they were taking off.
Juliet asks to where.
Kate- "Welcome to the world of not knowing what the hells going on."
{Flash}
Lucy/Kate pulls a case on wheels and knocks on the door 5x {Door F.}
Diane, Kate's mother answers the door and looks at her. "Go, Go, Go!"
Guns, Marshal Mars yells at Lucy/Kate- "Get down. On the ground! Let me see those hands!" Marshals swarm the place.
Mars- "Long time no see, Austen."
Mars turns her over and reveals it's not Kate! {Decoy} She says she's just selling bibles. Mars opens the case grabs the red bible. {Of course.}
Kate sits in a car watching this through binoculars.
Cassidy knocks on the hotel room door 5x. {Coffee} Cassidy takes off her wig and tells Lucy she was questioned for ½ hour. They confiscated her case, "It's a good thing I know how to lie."
Lucy, drinking coffee, "At least we know what we're up against."
{We're? Also note five spoons in the cup. I know, I'm insane.}
Cassidy tells her there were six guys waiting to take her down. Lucy will figure it out.
Cassidy- "That marshal. I don't know what you did to him, but if he ever gets his hands on you, it's gonna be you or him." {Interesting!}
Lucy tells her it's OK if she changed her mind about helping.
Cassidy will help her; but if she's going to keep lying to federal agents for her so she can have a chat with her mother, she needs to know that's there's a pretty good reason. {No she doesn't.}
Lucy tells her he used to get drunk and beat up my mom. So I blew up his house. Made it look like an accident; A gas leak. She took out an insurance policy on the house for her; Set her up for life. Mom gave her up, chose him over me. "So the reason I have to talk to her is…Someone, I love, who's supposed to care about me, betrayed me. And I wanna know why!"
Kate’s looking for a trail at night. She’s cuffed to Juliet. Kate starts to walk away and Juliet tugs her back.
Juliet- "It's gonna rain. Don't you think we should wait till morning?"
Kate pulls her and says "No."
They walk through the jungle in the dark.
Kate asks her why they would handcuff "You to me, and drag us out into the jungle?"
Juliet shares that Ben has a thing for mind games.
Kate-"Is that why he left you behind?"
Juliet is not in the mood to talk.
Thunder and rain starts up. Kate wants to keep moving so she doesn't lose the trail in the rain.
Juliet- "I hope you're not dragging me all the way back there with you for him…..I hope you're not going back for Jack." {She made a rhyme! lol}
Juliet tells her she was standing right there when he told Kate not to come back, "And now that you ruined his chance to get off the Island…"
Kate punches her right in the face! They fight in the rain and mud! Kate gets Juliet's arm behind her back, "Are you done?"
Juliet starts screaming in pain.
Kate apologizes; she didn't mean to…The monster is released!
Juliet- "What the hell is that?"
Juliet informs Kate her shoulder is dislocated. {Left one.} Kate has them hide in a banyan tree but the monster is right there! Juliet looks at it and it starts flashing bright light at her. She shields her eyes but does look at it again. It flashes some more and then seems to recoil away! It's gone.
Juliet asks Kate if they're safe.
Kate- "You tell me."
Night on the beach:
Claire is tending to the baby. A few feet away Sawyer tells Hurley, "I aint kissing no damn baby."
Hurley coaches Sawyer- "Claire's like really influential. If she votes for you to stay, then you're home free, Dude....Moms love it when you show an interest in their babies."
He suggests a nice gesture to her would be to call her Claire, give her a blanket for Aaron and say something nice about the baby.
Sawyer heads over, says hi to Claire and Aaron. He just came by to say, "Your baby's not as wrinkly as he was a couple of weeks ago."
Claire finds this cute and true. Sawyer gets thumbs up from Hurley.
Back in the banyan trees Juliet asks Kate if it's gone and are they safe.
Kate asks her if she's serious, "You've never seen that before?"
Juliet- "If you don't believe me, you can always pull my other shoulder out of its socket."
Juliet tells Kate this is the 4th time her shoulder's been dislocated. Kate has to pop it back in.
Kate doesn't want to!
Juliet- "You're gonna. Right now if feels like there's broken glass under my skin and if it weren't for you, I would be on my way home right now."
Kate shares Jack told her not to come back to protect her. Juliet admits that they have cameras on the cages so Jack saw her and Sawyer. The reason Jack told Kate not to come back is because she broke his heart, "So, grab my wrist, push up and twist!"
Kate does. {Could this be the 4th time she and Kate have run this scenario?}
Desmond and Sawyer are out very early boar hunting. {Looking very army-like.}
Des explains getting up early, "This is when they break cover to eat."
Sawyer- "Looks like they picked a day to sleep in."
Desmond asks him his angle.
Sawyer hasn't spoken three words to him and suddenly he wants to be his hunting partner.
Sawyer- "My angle is, I got hearts and minds to change. And politics is all about bribes. Since money don't mean squat on this Island, I gotta give the people something they like. And people like meat."
Desmond shoots a boar.
It's Daylight and the ladies are still hiding in the tree.
Juliet is awake; Kate jolts awake. Juliet's shoulder is awesome so they move on.
{Flash}
Cassidy is sitting in a diner. She's wearing glasses.
Diane is the waitress who serves Cassidy a huge bowl of soup. {Blue name tag.} Cassidy purposely knocks the soup onto Diane.
Diane washes up in the rest room. {View via the mirror. Note wedding ring.} Kate is there to see her. Diane calls her Katherine. She wants to know what she's doing here.
Kate wants to know why she told them what she did to Wayne.
Diane hoped she came there to say she was sorry but Kate is not sorry. "He treated you like a dog."
Diane explains that you can't help who you love and for good or bad, she loved him.
Diane- "And you burnt him alive. You turned on the gas and you lit a match. You murdered him in cold blood."
Kate says she did it for her. Diane says she did it for herself.
Diane- "I have to go back to work. Because you are my daughter I'm not gonna tell the two men sitting who are sitting at the table who have been following me for the last month that you are here. But I swear to god Katie if I ever see you again, the first thing I will do is yell for help. Goodbye." Diane leaves and Kate cries. {View via the mirror.}
On their trek back Kate asks Juliet, "Did he say that to you?...That I broke his heart."
Juliet- "He didn't have to."
Kate- "You don't know anything about him."
Juliet- "I know where he was born. I know what his parent's did for a living. I know that he was married, and to who he was married to. I know why he got a divorce. I know how his father died. I know his height, his weight. His birthday, and his blood type. What do you know about him, Kate."
They take a few steps and "Monster" sounds! Kate tells Juliet to run.
They run and fall into mud and then get up and run right to the security fence. Kate stops dead in her tracks because she knows what happens when you step through those things so she suggests we will go along side them.
Juliet- "No Kate, they're off, we don't need to… we can go around, they're off!"
The monster is getting closer. Juliet takes the key to the cuffs from her back pocket and un-cuff's herself. She runs to a keypad on one of the pylons, uses both hands to finger in the code {16, 23. So is the full code 4 8 15 16 23 42?}
The monster is closer!
Juliet tells Kate "You're gonna wanna be over here."
Kate is petrified, Juliet is not. Kate joins her on the other side of the fence. Juliet activates the fence and the smoke monster literally bangs into the invisible fence. Juliet stands there and looks directly at it.
The "monster" "runs away". Kate's pissed.
Juliet claims, "We don't know what it is. But we know that it doesn't like our fences."
Kate's not interested in that; she's mad that Juliet had a key. {Juliet must know LOTS about the smoke monster!}
Juliet piles on the crap about the people she lived with for the past three years left her behind too. They gassed her, "I thought that maybe, maybe if I could make you think that we were in it together. Maybe I wouldn't get left behind again." {GO RE-READ THAT WHOLE BIT!}
Kate takes the key from her, removes her cuff and walks away.
Pig Roast at the beach: {boar roast actually.} Sawyer is cooking. Everyone's eating and drinking, having a nice day. Charlie tells Sawyer this is wonderful.
Sawyer-"Some Dharma A-1 and Paprika. I hope you remember this little barbecue at your meeting later."
Charlie- "What meeting?"
Hurley told Sawyer about the vote.
Charlie-"Since when does anyone around here vote?"
Sawyer realizes he was conned so he confronts Hurley, "There never was gonna be no vote."
Hurley- "Wasn't it nice, just being nice?"
Sawyer- "You tricked me into being decent. That's gotta be the lamest cons in the history of cons!"
Hurley tells him it wasn't a con, "If you're gonna be our temporary leader you need to do some damage control."
Sawyer-"Leader? What the hell are you smoking?"
Hurley- "Jack's gone. Locke's gone. Kate and Sayid. You're all we got."
He goes on to say when Nikki and Paulo died they all looked to him. Even though he tried to steal the diamonds they wanted to look to him {WTF? No. When Sawyer wanted to help investigate things, Hurley was suspicious of him.} "Look around. You made everyone happy. Just for today, they can eat boar, laugh and forget that they are totally screwed. And you did that for them, Dude. You."
Sawyer- "What if I don't want to be the leader?"
Hurley explains that he didn't think Jack wanted it either. Sucks for you, dude." {So does being in the leadership role suck?! It isn't a good place to be? Interesting!}
We see that the camp is enjoying their day; Laughing, eating, drinking and sharing.
Sun sees Sawyer hold Aaron and Sawyer smiles at her but she's still not having it.
Kate and Juliet arrive at the abandoned barracks.
Juliet mentions Sayid's in one of those backyards, she'll get him. Juliet tells Kate to go get Jack. Kate enters the 'house' Jack is in. {Note 2 canisters, broken dish? Pillows. He gets 2 canisters!}
Jack is unconscious in the hallway. Kate tells him to wake up and Jack jolts awake! He asks, what happened.
Kate informs him they all left, "Because of me. I'm so sorry. I should have listened to you. I never… I wanted to come back to help you. But you didn't need me to. And now because of me, you can't go." She cries, "I'm so sorry. I am so sorry."
Confused Jack asks- "They just…left?…Even, Even Juliet?"
Kate says no they left her too.
Jack asks why.
Kate- "You know her better that I do….Now what?"
Jack-"Now we go back."
{Flash}
At the service station: Cassidy brings Lucy back. {Hmmmm!} Lucy looks at 'her car' in the garage {plate –Missouri 4ON DVB} and thanks Cassidy for everything.
Lucy- "So, this guy who ripped you off. Will you give me his name? Tell me where I can find him?…You almost got arrested for me, Cassidy. I want to help you."
Cassidy tells her she's pregnant and "It's his. The baby's his. And I still love him."
Kate tells her to call the cops; have him locked up.
Cassidy asks her if she'll ever forgive her mom for calling the cops?
Lucy-"No. No I won't."
Cassidy- "Thanks Lucy."
Lucy- "My name's Kate."
Kate gets out the SUV.
Back at the barracks Jack heads straight to Juliet to ask if she's OK. Sayid tells Jack he checked all the houses, "Everyone's gone. No weapons. No trail. It's like 50 people disappeared into thin air."
Jack, still the leader tells them they "should take what they can find and head out while we still got light."
Sayid-"She's not coming with us."
Jack gives him a look, "Yes, she is."
Sayid- “Why?”
Jack-"Because they left her behind too."
Jack, Juliet, Sayid and Kate, all with their back packs, leave the barracks.
Left Behind is a Great Episode!!!!
Talk about literally being bound to pain and broken hearts. This episode brings us back to Hearts and Minds. That episode showed us that Locke knows how to use of the land/island (magic paste/hallucinogen) and bring "experiences" to people; experiences that are vital to their survival on the "island".
Things to Note…Questions to ask…
* EYES! I'm sure by now I have you all on a mission of watching everyone's eye color change or intensify. Everyone on "Island" and Flashes.
* Different versions of things. Different Times on the "Island"?
* FARM: Plant, nurture, harvest.
* Juliet always has something in her "back pocket".
* Different diner for Diane?
* Juliet on the "Island" for three years and Desmond for three years. Did they come together, or should we just throw out the whole three years crap out because one or both of them have always been there? There, I said it.
* Alright, Juliet proves she knows details about Jack. How did she acquire such detailed details? When the "crash" happened Ben tells Mikhail he wants files on everybody. If someone were to acquire a file on you, your personal life, they still would not get intimate details to your life. So, with that said, is it possible that these files on Jack and the Losties are already filled, just waiting to be pulled out of a file drawer/box from somewhere on the "Island"? I'm just asking!!! Their whole life, whether it's scripted, planned out, lived already and notes taken/kept, what ever, it's already in a complete A-Z biography for each person.
* Plates. Broken Plates.
* REAL-FAKE
* Things made to look like an accident.
* Gas. Going to sleep. Knocked out.
* Coaching. Guiding.
* Decoy people- Decoy props- Decoy Costumes-Fakes!
* Clues to things having to be rehearsed/memorized. Drills/exercise.
* Cassidy admits to knowing how to lie. Juliet knows how to lie. Maybe they had the same teacher.
* What did Kate do to the marshal? What did Kate really do?
* Sawyer should know how to fend for himself especially if he's lived that "Island" life before.
* Juliet's shoulder dislocated. Jack's shoulder dislocated in The Moth.
* "What did you do to piss them off?" is also mentioned in Hearts and Minds regarding Locke.
* Juliet involved in the plan to gas the barracks. So how would that fit in to her plan to "leave" with Jack?
* Jack knows what Ben considers to be home. Maybe that's what Jack considers to be home too.
* Coincidence that Kate and Cassidy are in the same scene/set up? Coincidence that Kate and Juliet are in the same set up? Come on!
* John doesn't want to go "HOME", yet is moving on.
* Hurley feels there is good stuff that comes with being part of this society!
* Is Kate on the light/white side?
* How far back does Jack and Juliet's relationship/connection really go?
* Games. Chess, Mouse trap, Backgammon.
* Kate waking up in the jungle and seeing the different trees. It was very important for me to show you this because it shows us, "flashes/Island" time being either out of time order or different from another "Island" visits, or both. Return "visits" to the "Island", YES. The same storyline on the "Island" over and over. Are things slightly different every time they have these return "visits"? Remember, in addition to the tress here we have the "Charlie don't swim, then he does swim" example, two different lotto tickets for Hurley, and the list goes on.
* Now for fun, what if we throw the possibility of twins or replicas. Two identical looking sets of people…Imagine witnessing the exact set of scenarios played out by two identical looking sets of people. Which team makes the better decisions? lol. The wreckage of Oceanic flight 815 will be found. Maybe there be a set of identical looking people in it.
* The eye color changes have to fit in somewhere with either return visits, consciousness/altered/hallucination state or twin/replica. Which one do you think it is?
* Monster Time: There are so many sounds associated with the monster. Is there a possibility that it gets released from somewhere? There must be a place he/it lives? One of the sounds we hear is almost like a giant heavy door/gate of some sort that gets opened. Then there are the other sounds like, gears, metal, giant footsteps, growls, grunts, breathing, clicking, etc.. Do the hatches have anything to do with the monster? Is there only one monster? If the smoke monster morphs, what determines if it's in the mood to morph to fool someone or stay in smoke state? What about it's flashing bright light? Scanning images from the person it's confronting? Is it taking pictures/images from the person or is it putting images in? Maybe just checking things out or making the person take a look at the things they need to confront. Besides, you already know that I think it connects to someone in particular.(wink, wink)
* There are certain things in our story that remind me of episodes of The Twilight Zone. LOST deals with many of the same topics; "time" being a large part of it.
* Ben and mind games...I'm sure he's isn't the only one with this gift of mind games.
* Politics. Government. Vote. We have political issues abound. I think we've established by this point that there always two sides involved. Politics has made its presence known on the island. Government has been brought to the surface. Even in a Utopian society you need rules. Rules need people to govern them.
Vocabulary and Research...
* Apollo- In Greek and Roman mythology, is one of the most important and many-sided of the Olympian deities. Apollo has been recognized as a god of LIGHT and the sun; truth, prophecy, archery, medicine, healing; music, poetry, the arts; and more. Apollo has a twin sister, the chaste huntress Artemis.
* Mars was the Roman god of war, and the son of Juno and Jupiter. As the word Mars has no Indo-European derivation, it is most likely the Latin form of the agricultural Etruscan god Maris. Initially the Roman god of fertility and vegetation and a protector of cattle, fields and boundaries.
The two names I mention here all encompass major themes, issues in our story. This also included some islander's traits, roles or jobs in our story too.
* The Etruscans: Believed to be one, if not the, world's oldest civilization. They were a people of unknown origin living in Northern Italy, who were eventually integrated into Roman culture and politically became part of the Roman Republic. As distinguished by its own language, the civilization endured from an unknown prehistoric time prior to the foundation of Rome until its complete assimilation to Italic Rome in the Roman Republic. Like the Egyptians, the Etruscans believed in eternal life.
Then we have other ancient civilizations that have similar ties to what we see in the show.
The MU civilization. Hypothetical lost continent located in the S. Pacific before it sank beneath the waters, similar to Atlantis and Lemuria. In either case, the issue of Plate Tectonics fits in here.
* Left – Simple past tense and past participle of leave. The left side. The west side of the body when one is facing north. Opposite of right side.(politics). The ensemble of left-wing political parties. Port Is a Synonym.
* Left Behind: A Novel of the Earth's Last Days. A Christian series of books.
* Chatter in the speech sense - to talk noisily or conversationally. Talk, especially meaningless or unimportant talk.
-An intermittent noise, as from vibration.
-The sound made by a MAGPIE.
-In electronics, the unwanted bouncing of switch or relay contacts.
-In signal intelligence, encrypted electronic signals to be subjected to Traffic analysis.
-Project CHATTER (1947-1953), a U.S. Navy truth serum project.
-Mukesh Chatter, technology entrepreneur.
* Hearts and Minds was a euphemism for a campaign by the United States military during the Vietnam War, intended to win the popular support of the Vietnamese people.
-Hearts and minds was a Justice League episode/story.
* Latrine is also a term common in the US Military which a civilian might call a bathroom or toilet. Called Head in watercraft.
* Buck(s)- The male of various species of animal, including human male.
-Examples of slang words for Buck(s)- an aboriginal male.
* A marker or button that indicates the dealer in the card game Poker.
* A repetition of an old joke, story, or fact.
-Cash.
-A buck converter a type of electronics power supply.
-A kind of knife: Buck knife.
-A chicken (bucker), from the sound a chicken makes.
-A type of shoe.
Other interesting Buck(s) facts…
-Pearl S. Buck is a famous author.
-An abbreviation for Buckinghamshire.
-Buck Grangerford is the name of Huck Finn's friend. (Tom 'Sawyer' connection)
-Buck Rogers is a science fiction hero from the 1930s and 1970s.
-Cameron "Buck" Williams is a character in the Left Behind series.
-Buck Cluck is the father of the film version of Chicken Little.
* 3- The trinity. The number combines 1+2. That includes ALL life and experience. Birth-Life-Death. Mind-Body-Soul. Past-Present-Future. Man-Woman-Child.
* 5- The 5 human senses. Or, on a human figure, a line joining the head to outstretched arms and legs forms a pentagram. Or simply that Muslims pray 5x a day.
Left behind? Who? We know the “Island” has "magnetic" properties so let's imagine in a sense the "Island" is one big giant magnet constantly pulling them all back. They always come back!

Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right! The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either! You all know I hate spoilers! And I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Understood? Good! Let the fun begin! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance! It will get very exciting as we progress into the story.
