The Age of Enlightenment.

Ahhhh...the photograph. Flashes before your eyes.
A snapshot; a moment frozen in time.
You all know I love discovering these bits of photographic proof to things in our story. I have posted many pictures over my many compositions that show us clues, hints and even proof to some things, and I have many more to share!
I will always admit the possibility exists there is human/production error, and continuity errors that can occur. I expect that to happen. After all... we're all human!
Well, some of us are. Others are just...aliens. lol!
But in a project like LOST where everyone involved admits to going great lengths for details to just about everything, there are too many moments that are flashed before your eyes, there to show us "something"...or is it "anything" at all?

Here are a few more "shots" to question...

IF YOU FIND PICTURES/SCREEN SHOTS TO BE SPOILERS...DON'T READ ON!

(click the pics to enlarge them)

Readers of my notes/compositions know I have been on my soapbox about the vision from Further Instructions since day one. I really feel the visions/dreams and possibly memories of John Locke are always an important part of the story; by showing and telling where it is leading us.
Here is a shot from the episode ?
There are so many connections in this episode.
Eko and John have dreams/visions. These two men are connected.

In the dream/vision Eko follows Yemi up the roots to the top.
Yemi in a wheelchair. We then discover Locke dreamed this dream.
Here is the dream segment. The third photo is from season 5. (Sorry about the minor spoiler)

Locke sees himself in a wheelchair in his visions/dreams or even memories. Will we see that too? I believe we will.

In the pilot episode as Jack is running through the "crash" site, he passes in front of a dude that looks just like GOODWIN. What do you see?

The sign on the wall is fitting. Jack has to return another casket to the "Island". Hmm...

Aaron's door does have the rabbit on it when Jack reads to Aaron.
The rabbit artwork is there in the season 4 finale. Why?
Could it because of dream state/illusions/hallucination/wishful thinking, or just a different time line? Either way it's a trip down the rabbit hole.

This is from Missing Pieces, "The Envelope".
Juliet's freezer contains regular labeled foods, not Dharma packaged products. I found that interesting.

How many people are tied to Dharma?
This is another example of how "Flash" images
and "Island" images blend/blur together.

Claire's dream/vision or memory- She is not pregnant.

Another Claire memory or vision/dream/hallucination/illusion.
Here she is the observer in a "scene" of Ethan hanging out with Claire/self. When was Claire really with Ethan?
Is Claire Ethan's pregnant wife from years ago? Who the hell knows?

Anthony Cooper flies oceanic. How often?

The monitor used in the medical station by Ethan and Claire is different from the one used by Juliet with Sun in D.O.C..
Are things like this showing us the "Island" residents keep up on new products/technology?

If so, they'd have to get these items to the "Island". Is this giving us proof that these events have happened on the "Island"? Or are we seeing a glimpse of each person's perceptive being different.

Jack's name seems to have different spelling though time. Could the reason be due to lucid dreaming, manipulated imagery, or even playing a slightly different role? Or is it that Jack can't spell his name while "time traveling".  Hmm...

Love to all who are "LOST" ™

Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right! Things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either. I hate spoilers! I stand clear of reading certain sites, as to not take me off my own research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Good! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues in bold.

DSA Week 7. The Magic of 23.

(click pics to enlarge)

The Magic of 23.
"Where the magic happens."

Holy "Magic Tricks" Batman!!!
Boy, was I happy this week's DSA hints about "MAGIC".
Okay, you're reading this and saying to yourself, "Come on Karen! You're friggin' nuts! It was not about "magic", it was about us getting an inside look into LOST!"  And yes my friends, you are correct. But this is LOST (and I'm admittedly certifiable) and it is always filled with subliminal insight. If there are no clues to magic or illusion here we will just chalk it up to a lesson about magic.

Blink and you might miss it.
We are on the inside! We await Damon and Carlton’s “stage-ee” entrance from the other side of the glass. The glass window shows us the LOST writers offices are inside building 23.
They welcome us to building 23, “This is where the magic happens.”
Indeed it does!!

The clip “Fast Forwards” and skips just a bit.
We get a tiny tour of the hallways. They make special mention of a beautiful cast/LOST family painting created by an artist in Brazil; they are sure to point out Rousseau and Eko with his stick.

Fast Forward again; moving them along quicker.

They happen to have some DHARMA products. The table is filled with can goods of chicken soup and chilli; and  of course the famous ranch dressing, bottle water and peanut butter.   We’re told to keep Carlton away from the chilli.
Damon- “Talk about a rip in the space time continuum.”   He’ll just leave it at that. Lol!
By the way let's note...THERE IS NO DHARMA SHORTCAKE!! lol.

They introduce Mike, the backwards hat wearing production assistant. {Hi Mike!} He keeps them fueled and fed.
We peek into Greg Nations office; meeting Greg and Noreen.

Fast Forward.

Damon proudly shows us the Twilight Zone Pinball machine {game} that is a gift to the writers this year, for a job “Well done.” {Note the famous spiral image on the left}

Damon has the high score with 2477154940.

Damon plays and says- “Everyone else knows, to, to unseat me, would be the…”
Carlton- “...the demise of your role on the show.”
They both agree.

Fast Forward

We enter the magical WRITERS ROOM!!!!!!
Everyone is looking very natural.
Darlton introduces us to the writers assistants Rupa and Jim, who have to laugh at their jokes.
We are introduced to the beautiful Elizabeth Sarnoff, Eddy Kitsis, Melinda Sue Taylor, Paul Zbyszewski {SPA-CHEF-SKI.}
The poor guy only has two vowels in his name….well, sometimes three!
Eddy’s partner Adam Horowitz is missing from the group but is represented by a little green alien. And here’s Kyle Pennington.
Missing in action is Brian K. Vaughan.

We are then led to the wall of many characters on the show… The walls are filled with the actors headshots. Look closely at all those pictures!

First we are shown the characters that are still living. We aren’t to assume they are surviving long into season 5.
There is an UN-DEAD column behind the black lamp;  shown are Christian, Yemi and Kate’s horse.
Then the R.I.P. Column. {REALLY IMPORTANT PEOPLE in my book!}
Everyone who left the {Un-merry band already. I think that‘s what Damon says}.

Damon and Carlton bid the writers room thanks and say they will be back after they {the writers} finish the season.

The boys stand in front of a huge picture of beautiful ocean backdrop. They thank us for letting them show us where the magic happens or doesn‘t happen.
Damon-“…just reach into the hat and nothing comes out.”

Things to note…Questions to ask...
* Magic= Tricks, Cons, Illusions, Razzle Freakin Dazzle!
* Missing people.   Maybe BKV and Adam are hanging out with the the missing members of Geronimo Jackson.
* Dead...Not dead...Un-dead
* Game under glass.
* Written, staged, backdrops, painting.
* Family
* Ranch
* Languages/linguistics
* I'm going to ask this yet again...Are characters who are getting to close to answers, unseating someone, {or find what they're looking for} removed from the playing field?

Vocabulary and Research…
* Pinball is a type of arcade game, where a player attempts to score points by manipulating one or more metal balls on a playfield inside a glass covered case called a pinball machine. The primary objective of the game is to score as many points as possible. Secondary objectives are to maximize the time spent playing (by earning extra balls and keeping the ball in play as long as possible) and to earn free games (known as replays).
* Holma- {Language/Lingustics}
   Language affiliation- Afro-Asiatic.
   Language affiliation (details)- Afro-Asiatic, Chadic, Central Chadic, Bata-Gude group,  Bata-Subgroup.
Geographic locations- Nigeria (Adamawa State, North of Sorau on the Nigerian/Cameroonian border) and Cameroon.
Language situation- Moribund language: only a few elderly speakers are left
General presentation of the language- Nzanyi, a language of Cameroon, is mentioned as its dialect.
Number of speakers-4 people with a good proficiency amongst 5,000 people of the Holma ethnic group.
Socio-linguistic context – description- Holma was spoken by a small ethnic community of the same name. The Holma adopted the culture and language of the Fulani and the Holma language has been replaced by Fulfulde. Only a few old men are able to speak the language of their forefathers.

* Magic is a performing art that entertains people by creating illusions of seemingly impossible or supernatural feats, using purely natural means. These feats are called magic tricks, effects or illusions. EVEN CONS!

Hieronymus Bosch: The Conjurer, 1475-1480. Netherlandish painter of the 15th and 16th centuries. The artist's work is well-known for the use of fantastic imagery to illustrate moral and religious concepts and narratives.

From 1756 to 1781, Jacob Philadelphia performed feats of magic, sometimes under the guise of scientific exhibitions, throughout Europe and Russia.

Categories of Magic effects
* Production- The magician produces something from nothing—a rabbit from an empty hat, a fan of cards from thin air, a shower of coins from an empty bucket, or the magician themselves, appearing in a puff of smoke on an empty stage -- all of these effects are productions.
•Vanishing -The magician makes something disappear. A vanish, being the reverse of a production, may use a similar technique, in reverse.
•Transformation- The magician transforms something from one state into another—a silk handkerchief changes color, a lady turns into a tiger. A transformation can be seen as a combination of a vanish and a production effect.
•Restoration- The magician destroys an object, then restores it back to its original state —a rope is cut, a newspaper is torn, a woman is sawn in half, a borrowed watch is smashed to pieces—then they are all restored to their original state.
•Teleportation- The magician causes something to move from one place to another. When two objects exchange places, it is called a transposition: a simultaneous, double teleportation.
•Escapology- The magician (an assistant may participate, but the magician himself is by far the most common) is placed in a restraining device (i.e. handcuffs or straight jacket) and/or a death trap, and escapes to safety.
•Levitation- The magician defies gravity, either by making something float in the air, or with the aid of another object (suspension)—a silver ball floats around a cloth, an assistant floats in mid-air, another is suspended from a broom, a scarf dances in a sealed bottle, the magician hovers a few inches off the floor.
•Penetration.-The magician makes a solid object pass through another—a set of steel rings link and unlink, a candle penetrates an arm,, a man walks through a mirror. Sometimes referred to as 'solid-through-solid'.
•Prediction- The magician predicts the choice of a spectator, or the outcome of an event under seemingly impossible circumstances.

Magic performances genres:
•A mentalist. {mind-reading}- Mentalism creates the impression in the minds of the audience that the performer possesses special powers to read thoughts, predict events, control other minds, and similar feats.
•Stage Illusionist. Typically within an auditorium. This type of magic is distinguished by large-scale props, the use of assistants and often, exotic animals.
•Platform Magic. (aka Cabaret magic or Stand-up magic) The use of small table top illusions is common. The term Parlor Magic is sometimes used but is considered pejorative. This genre includes the skilled manipulation of props.
•Micromagic. (also known as Close-up magic or Table Magic) is performed with the audience close to the magician, sometimes even one-on-one. It usually makes use of everyday items as props.
•Escapology is magic that deals with escapes from confinement or restraints.

PLUS…
•Theatrical Seances the aspect of magic that simulates spiritualistic or mediumistic effects. This is meant purely as theatre and not meant to "conjure up spirits."
•Children’s magic- performed for children. This type of magic is usually comedic in nature and involves audience interaction as well as volunteer assistants.
Online magic tricks were designed to function on a computer screen. The computer essentially replaces the magician. Some online magic tricks recreate traditional card tricks and require user participation, while others, like Plato's Cursed Triangle are based on mathematical, geometrical and/or optical illusions.
•Mathemagic is an aspect of stage magic that combines magic and mathematics.
Corporate Magic or Trade Show Magic uses magic as a communication and sales tool, as opposed to just straightforward entertainment.
•Street Magic is a form of street performing or busking that employs a hybrid of stage magic, platform and close-up magic, usually performed “in the round” or surrounded.
•Bizarre Magic uses mystical, horror, fantasy, and other similar themes in performance. Bizarre magic is typically performed in a close-up venue, although some performers have effectively presented it in a stage setting.
Shock magic is a genre of magic that shocks the audience.

THE OATH-
"As a magician I promise never to reveal the secret of any illusion to a non-magician, unless that one swears to uphold the Magician's Oath in turn. I promise never to perform any illusion for any non-magician without first practicing the effect until I can perform it well enough to maintain the illusion of magic."

All kidding and magic lessons aside, Damon and Carlton make us all feel like we are one of the gang, and we love that!!!! I cannot say enough about the boys and all the writers!! They are the reason we are passionate about this story. They give us a reason to care about our beloved characters. They give the story meaning and heart (and confusion. lol).

The writers give us our escape from reality, and to me THAT is truly MAGICAL!

THE GLASS BALLERINA.

Let's talk about LOST! The Glass Ballerina.

A beautiful glass ballerina figurine is tumbling through the air. It crashes down and shatters in front of the fireplace.
A little girl runs away from the broken figure.

The little girl sits at the piano. {A metronome keeps tempo/time} SHE IS NOT IN TEMPO/TIME WITH THE METRONOME.
She hears the door open; she stops playing and stops the metronome.
Mr. Paik enters the room with the broken pieces of the figurine in a white bag/sac. The little girl backs away from him. This is Sun.
He asks the child if she broke the ballerina.
Sun- "NO."   She says that the maid broke it.
Mr. Paik tells her if the maid did it he'd be forced to fire her, so he asks her a second time.
Sun stands her ground  saying it was the maid's fault.
A frustrated Mr. Paik walks out.
He little girl appears to have no guilt over her decision to lie.
Sun looks in a mirror and splashes water on her face. She is on the boat. Jin knocks on the bathroom door, tells her to open the door. Sun isn't feeling well.
She says it’s, "Morning sickness."
We see a shot of the sailboat with black smoke rising up in the background.
Sayid is working on a map with an obvious marking pointing north. {Binoculars.}
Sayid is wearing a watch.
Sun translates Jin's request, "My husband says it’s time to leave. He doesn't think Jack and the others are coming. It's been over a day since we lit the fire. It should be here by now."
Sayid insists that Jack knows they are there, "He's counting on our signal."
He goes on to suggest that maybe, if Jack is North of there, the mountains would be blocking their signal and he wouldn't be able to see it.  They need to sail forward along the coast, clear the mountains and start another signal fire.  All along Sun is translating to Jin but Jin won't go for it.
Sayid tells Sun he “Told Jack I would light a fire. I'm not abandoning him."
When Sayid says that, Jin turns away.  Sun attempts to explain to Jin but he gets pissed, shakes her and says, "Sayid is not your husband." {Sayid doesn't even react.}
Sun says to Sayid, "My husband thinks we have to do as he says, because he's the only one who knows how to sail. But he's wrong." {Ah, another wonderful secret brought to you by, Sun!} She will help sail the boat. She defies Jin.
Jack is in his glass cell sleeping in the corner.
A video camera with red blinking light is watching him.
A man guarding him opens the door and Juliet enters bearing food on a tray.   Jack wakes up. She asks him if he's feeling better.  Juliet  made the soup herself. {Well if she isn't friggin' Martha Stewart!} She knocks on the door 2 times to signal the guard to open it and she leaves.
Jack sits in the corner never saying a word.
Juliet knocks twice on another door and Ben opens it, removes his glasses.
He has been watching everything and everyone via various locations video monitors.
Ben-"You never made soup for me."
Just then a woman climbs down a ladder; she asks if she's interrupting something, as she looks at them with a bit of suspicion.   Colleen reports to Ben that they have a situation.   Colleen informs them Ryan radioed in that "The Iraqi found the decoy village."
Ben feels that's good, that's what they wanted.    Colleen goes on to tell him that they have a sailboat. This shocks Ben! "How?"
Juliet is unimpressed as she feels that "Sailing in circles will keep them busy."
Colleen fears "They could find us."
All of this has worried Ben. A team could be put together within the hour. Colleen gives Juliet a dirty look and leaves.
Ben-"And Colleen, I want that boat."
Sawyer in his cage/cell picks up a black rock, trying to retrieve food like the bears.
We hear the fake sounds of nature/animals. Then fan fair music plays signaling he got food.
Kate wakes up in her cage/cell.
Kate- "Nice alarm clock."
Sawyer "I've woke up to worse."
Armed Others take Sawyer and Kate out of the cages; they are given lunch boxes.
As they walk to wherever, they are interrupted by Colleen.   She speaks privately to Danny and he gives her a kiss on the cheek. {They sure do have a lot of guns.} Sawyer watches them.

On the sailboat Sun sees Sayid load a rifle; he is focused!  Jin is looking through the binoculars. Sun apologizes to Jin for disagreeing with him in front of Sayid. Jin says she shouldn't have disagreed period.
Jin- "Why did you even come with us?"
Sun didn't want to be without him.
Sun is lying in bed. The man next to her is revealed to be Jae.   He asks her what's wrong.
Sun-"What's wrong is that I'm married."
He seems unimpressed with that answer; they kiss.
Sun tells him she’s sorry, "I can't." {Note the dark lamp on the table with the light lampshade. Red.}
Jae gives her a gift of PEARLS! Sun  can't wear them because Jin will ask where they came from.
Jae tells her in English he doesn't want to share her anymore, "Your English is excellent now. You can go to America."
There is a knock at the door. Surprised Sun says no one knows she is there.
Jae answers the door and a hotel worker in uniform lets in Mr. Paik.
Jae-"I'm sorry I didn't realize…”
Mr. Paik walks right into the bedroom and sees Sun in the bed wrapped in RED sheets. He tells her to get dressed and walks out.
Suns face initially shows shame, but then...

Sawyer and Kate are led to an area where many people are at work with building something. They are grating and pounding down the ground.
Danny instructs the two- "Alright here's the gig, see these rocks here, that's where you two come in. {He points to Kate} "You're gonna chop em loose, {points to Sawyer} "You're gonna haul em outta here."
Kate comments about her working in a dress.
Danny tells her it's up to her; she can take it off if she wants. Sawyer wouldn't mind one bit if she took it off! {Ah, true love. Uh...Or lust}
Danny goes on to instruct them if they need anything they must raise their hand and they get 10 minutes for lunch.
Like a student in school Sawyer raises his hand but Danny says "No Questions".
Sawyer (child-like) says "She got to ask a question.”
Danny not missing a beat says if they try to run off they will be shocked.
Sawyer mishears him thinking he says shot, 'without a warning?'
Danny continues, if they talk, touch, slacking- if they do anything at all that pisses him off, they will be shocked!
Kate says she's not getting to work until she sees Jack.
Without hesitation Danny walks up to Kate and shocks Sawyer! He tells her "That was a ¼ charge, anymore questions?"
Danny tells Sawyer when he's "able to walk, the wheelbarrow's right over there." (Wheelbarrow- 3 wheels.)
{FLASH}
Jin had been summoned to Mr. Paik’s office.
Paik informs Jin "We have a problem." He pushes a file in front of Jin.
Jin opens file to see there's a picture of Jae.
Mr. Paik goes on to tell Jin that this man has been stealing from him and he needs Jin to put an end to it. {Note the liquor in the bottle behind Paik. Also the unique statues and art.}
Jin asks what he stole.
Paik says that's not important. Jin is told that 'delivering a message' as usual will not suffice in this situation.   He NEEDS to put an end to it!
Jin tells him he cannot do that.
Paik says he can.
Jin replies that "It's not his job to..."
Paik-"Your job is what I say it is!"
Jin feels then he can’t work for him anymore.   Jin slams the file down and quits, bows to Paik and starts to walk away.
Upset Paik tells Jin - "You don’t get to quit! This man has shamed me."
Paik says that Jin is "married to his daughter that makes you my son" {as he touches Jin's right shoulder} my shame is your shame. I need you to restore our family's honor."
He picks up the file and gives it back to Jin.
Jin takes it and bows to Mr. Paik.

Jin is on the sailboat cutting the head off a fish with a cleaver.   Sun calls him to the deck. Jin climbs up through the hatch. Sun points out{with 2 friggin fingers, no less}.
Sayid gives Jin the binoculars to see the dock with a covered area at the end.
Jin-"Others."
Sayid comments that the docks decaying, overgrown, like it hasn't been used in quite some time, "Whoever built it they're not here now."
Sayid says they'll bring the boat in, tie it to the dock, build a fire on the beach, the visibility's excellent, Jack will see them for miles.
Jin- "Safe?" in English.
Sayid-"Of course it's safe." {As if Jin asked a silly question!}

Kate is chopping rocks in the dress. Sawyer wheeling away the rocks. There is a small fire burning. {Why?}
Sawyer is eying Kate's backside!
Juliet and Danny are under a covered shelter looking at what appears to be 'plans' or blue prints/diagrams.
Danny won't stand for Sawyer taking a breather so he demands he get back to work! Sawyer calls him boss. {Again}
Rocks are thrown and sounds come from the shrubs; someone is trying to get Kate's attention. It is Alex.
Alex tells Kate to be sure they don't see them talking.  Alex asks if they are keeping her in the cages. She also asks about another guy her age named Karl, was in there with her.
Kate says NO, it's just Sawyer and her. {Like this girl knows Sawyer?}
Alex happens to say, "You’re not even supposed to be in that cage."
Kate looks confused and asks her what she's talking about, who are you? {Kate's not supposed to be in there! What changed to make her be in there? Where was she supposed to be?}
Alex asks where she got the dress because it belongs to her.
Sawyer walks over.  Kate tells him to "Quit staring at her ass."
Danny yells for them to shut up!
At the dock, Sun carries a red container of gasoline.
The dock's sign says "PALA FERRY".
Sayid is preparing for start a fire. {Again}
Sayid tells her to help her husband; they need as much wood as they can find.
Su-"We're building quite a large fire."
Sayid says it’s so Jack will see the smoke.
Sun wants to know why he's lying to her.
Sayid-"And what would you know about lying Sun?"
She tells him that he's putting their lives in danger.
Sayid shares that he is "fairly certain that our friends have been captured. There are tracks all over the dock; they're fresh. As resent as yesterday."
Sun-"You said this dock was abandoned."
Sayid-"That would be part of the lying you mentioned."
Sun -"You're not building this fire for our people, you're building it for the Others."
Sayid-"I suspect that when they see the smoke, they'll send a scout party to investigate. By then it will be night. When they arrive, I'll ambush them. I'll take two of them hostage, and I'll kill the rest."
Sun- "Two?"
Sayid- "One to make the other cooperate."
Sun wants to help. Sayid is sorry, "But I'm going to have to ask you lie to Jin for another 20 minutes."
{Does Jin really understand English ?!}
Sayid explains to her once the fire is lit, it will be too late to go back. He tosses the red gas can.
{Flash}
Sun is looking at her reflection in a dark plate/dish. Jin enters through double doors; he has a file. Jin is troubled.
Sun looks pretty dressed in black and white. Jin sits at the table. {Note what appears to be 2 plates hanging on the wall- framed}
Sun lights a match; her hands shake. Candles are lit. Jin mentions he saw her father today and he called him son for the first time.
This surprises Sun, "Why would he do that?"
Jin- "He wants me to deliver a message."
Sun -"No. You don't."
Things aren't that simple.  Sun suggests they can start a new life. Jin feels if they run away her father would...{would what?}
Sun-"He won't know where we are. And you won't have to do this anymore."
Jin-“I do this for you, Sun.  I do it because your father expects it.  I do this because that's what it takes to be married to you."
Sun-"And what does it take to be married to you?"
Pissed off Jin takes the file and leaves to deliver the message.

Sayid is building his fire.  Jin is pissed; he wants the "GUN" from Sayid.
Sayid-"I don't think I understand." {Yeah, right.}
Jin calls for Sun and in Korean admits to her that he knows what they are planning. Sun shares with Sayid that Jin knows what they are doing; he knows it's a trap!
Sun-"He says he understands English better than I think he does {Fucking Finally! There it is!!!} He knows I betrayed him."
Demanding Jin says- "Gun."
Sayid gives him the gun. {WOW! Jin knows how to handle that gun! Does Sayid understand Korean?}
Sayid tells Sun she'd be safer on the boat.  He also tells her, if by chance they get past them there's another gun, it's inside the blue tarp beneath the Geiger counter.   Sun feels if the Others get past them that would mean her husband is dead and she wouldn't care anymore.  Sayid reiterates the gun is inside the tarp. {So does he know for sure, they will get past them?}

Danny is working on those blue prints again.
Sawyer is hauling rocks. Juliet and Sawyer share a look.  She tosses him some water in a canteen. He pours it out in defiance.
Sawyer is hurting for Kate; he hates to see what she is going through  . Sawyer walks over to her and plants a giant loving kiss!  {Kate's kiss here is very different than her kiss with Jack. She's not uncomfortable with this kiss like she obviously was with Jack. With Jack there was confusion and a sense of 'what am I doing?' The kiss with Sawyer was almost- "Right." Not that I'm an expert judging other peoples kisses! LOL}
Danny is pissed! They run over and knock Sawyer in the head with the butt of a rifle. Sawyer fights back and gets possession of a rifle.
Juliet calls him James as she has a gun pointed at Kate and Danny Shocks Sawyer! {Sawyer loves Kate.}
Night:
Sayid and Jin in the trees...waiting.
The fire is burning.
Sun is on the boat; she lights a fire for cooking.   Sun hears noises on deck. We see that people are indeed on deck.  Sun retrieves the gun from the blue tarp.
{Flash}
Gun on top of a picture/file of Jae, in the car.   Jin sits behind the wheel.
Jin looks in the rear view mirror at Jae talking to a doorman wearing a top hat.   Jin heads out after him.
Jin steps out of the elevator on the 2nd floor. {Ding!}
Jae is about to enter the double doors {number on the door 1516} has key card in his hand.   Jae's head is slammed into the door; then we see Jae get beat up inside the room.
Jin asks Jae, "Do you know who I am? Do you know why I'm here?"
Jae crying says he's sorry.
Jin tells him, then you know what I must do.  He pulls out a gun and puts gun and pillow against Jae's head. Jae is still apologizing.
Jin can't do it!
Jin tells Jae, "You will leave this country. Do you understand me? You will leave and never come back. Start a new life. And if I hear you've returned, if you have any contact at all, I will finish this. Am I clear? You don't exist!" {WOW!!}
Jae is left crying and Jin leaves.
We see Jin exit the building. He opens the car door, sits down. Jae crashes down upon the windshield of his car. Jae is holding the pearls.

Sayid and Jin in the trees. Sayid doesn't think they're coming.

On the boat with Others on deck, Colleen comes down the ladder {Again} into the cabin. Colleen silently notes the fire and the pot.  Sun is there holding the gun on her.   Sun wants to be let off the boat.  Colleen can't do that as it’s not her decision to make.  She tells Sun that 5 of her friends are up there.
Sun wants her to lower her voice.
Colleen tries to take a step ahead but Sun tells her stop or she'll shoot.
Colleen-"No you won't, Sun. I know you Sun Hwa Kwon, I know you're not a killer.  Despite what you may think, I am not the enemy, we are not the enemy. If you shoot me that's exactly what we'll become. {How would Colleen know all that? Hmmm?! YEAH!!!}
Colleen takes a few steps and again Sun threatens to shoot. The boat starts up and Sun shoots Colleen. {Sun kept her word here!}
There is a shootout on the boat.

Sayid and Jin hear this and run toward the boat. Sun tries to escape!

Jin is desperately calling out for Sun!
The boat is leaving! Shots are fired at Jin and Sayid.
Sun escapes through the boat hatch.
Tom sees her and shoots at her and Sun goes overboard!
Jin is yelling and swimming for her!  The boat leaves!  Jin fears the worst.  Sun finally answers him!
She is safe. They are together!
{Flash}
Emotional Sun is at Jae's funeral; she’s standing in front of a pagoda.
Mr. Paik tells crying Sun that she "shouldn't be here."
He is there because he does business with the young man's father. Paik shares with Sun he was told Jae jumped from a balcony. He must have felt great shame.  He tells her to go home to her husband.
Sun- "Will you ever tell Jin?"
Mr. Paik- "It's not my place to tell him."

Sun and Jin sit by the fire.  Jin tells her he doesn't know what he'd do with her- the both of them. {Referring to their unborn child}
Sayid comes over apologizes for "dragging you into this, "And please communicate to your husband that next time I will listen to him." {NEXT TIME!!!! And communicate with him yourself! HA!} They have a long walk ahead of them.

Night at the cages:
Sawyer and Kate get thrown into their cages. Weird animal sounds can be heard.
Kate asks what he was thinking! Sawyer says she was so damn cute swinging the damn pick ax, "Chain gang looks good on you, Freckles."
Sawyer gets up explains to her, "Two of those guards have some real fight in them. The rest of them, I ain't that much worried bout."
He goes on to detail the fighting style of the other guys, I.e. martial arts, etc... He tells her the zapper things have a safety on them. They talk about the look on their faces when Sawyer got the rifle. He figures they never saw any real action, "That blond who had a gun pointed at you, she would have shot you."
Kate asks why she called him James.
He admits that's his name and also admits she tastes like strawberries. {WTF? When did she have strawberries? The strawberries at the Ben breakfast? Didn't she have fish biscuits since then? LOL!} Awww, he tastes like fish biscuits.
He tells her that now they wait for them to make a mistake.

We see TV monitors. Ben has been watching!
Jack is on monitor 2.
Sawyer is on monitor 5.
There are 6 monitors.

Jack in his glass cell still sleeping in the corner. {He hasn't moved the whole time? The soup is still there.}
Ben is standing there, waking him up.
Ben brought his own chair.   Jack is out of it, groggy.
Amused Ben says to Jack-"You know what's crazy Jack? A week ago you and I were in exactly the opposite situation.  I was the one locked up and you were the one coming in for visits. And I know that you're angry that I lied to you about who I was but, hell, do you blame me? I mean let’s face it, if I'd told you I was one of those people that you and your friends have been calling Others all this time, it would have been right back to Sayid and his fists. Wouldn't it?
Jack-"What do you want from me?"
Ben-"I want for you to change your att…Perspective. And the first step in doing that would be for me to be decent enough to introduce myself honestly, so (he gets up, crouches down to Jack's level, extends hand to shake) Hi. My name is Benjamin Linus and I've lived on this Island my whole life."
Jack is not going to shake his hand.
Ben gets up and yells "Bring it in please."
Jack asks where Kate and Sawyer are. Ben says they're fine, they're close. {Close? Jack's not really underwater? Or That Kate and Sawyer are close-romantically?}

A TV is brought in room; it's behind the glass.
Ben has a remote in his pocket and tells Jack if he cooperates "We send you home."
Ben will tell him what he wants when the time is right, "Patience, Jack. Patience."
Jack asks if that's where he sent Walt and Michael.
Ben says yes.
Jack wants to know if you could leave the Island, why would you still be here.
Ben- "Yes Jack, Why would we be here?"
Jack thinks they're stuck there just like the Castaways.
Ben recounts- "Your flight crashed September 22, 2004.  Today is November 29, that means you've been on our Island 69 days.  And yes, we do have contact with the outside world." That how we know that George W. Bush was re-elected. Christopher Reeve {SUPERMAN!} has passed away. Boston Red Socks won the World Series.
Jack doesn't believe the Red Socks won 8 straight.
Ben shows him proof on TV!   Jack is shocked.
Ben taunts him- “That's home. {On the other side of the glass} If you listen to me. If you trust me. I will take you home."

The Glass Ballerina is a Great Episode!!!
Is Sun privy to her father’s business dealings?   Is she privy to business of the "Island"? Sun has shown us since the beginning that she is a secret keeper and liar.   She is capable of keeping her word as well as secrets. She is capable of at least pulling a trigger so she must be capable of throwing someone off a balcony.

Things to note...Questions to ask...
* Tarp...anagram=TRAP.   Escape. Exit.
* Sleeping. Wake up.
* Sun plays OUT OF TEMPO with the metronome, then STOPS it.
* Ben and the Others unaware of a sailboat? Could they not know about Kelvin or Desmond? Could this be a hint to another group of people on the island? How many groups of residents are on this island? Maybe they all just don't know what to call each other! LOL!
* "You never made soup for me.” Is this because they shared a romance and Juliet whips up an awesome soup? Or was Ben ever in the same position that Jack is in right now? Just a question...
* For a hot tropical place all these chicks love wearing 2 shirts!
* Everybody always has a backpack! Where the hell is the backpack store on the island? They need a place to carry all their collected items. Maybe it’s just a metaphor for carrying baggage.
* Jae's eyes are different.
* Jin understands English! Languages understood. I think Michael understands Korean. Could Hurley really know how to speak Korean? Maybe Sayid can speak French too! Or maybe one day he'll speak with a British accent! DAMN!
* Language/linguistics...learning
* What really happened to Jae? Did someone save Jin by finishing the job he was supposed to do? Did Jae kill himself? If not, someone had to be watching to know that Jin didn't see this job through. Did Sun do it?
* Where does Ben consider home? What is home to Ben? Where did Michael and Walt go? REALLY?
* "The outside world."...Proof that they are 'inside' something; in an “unreal world”.
* Video cameras everywhere, I mean everywhere around the "Island"!  Ben watches them. Is there anyone watching Ben? Who is watching the watchers?
* Fire. Signal Fire. Beacon. Light.
* The word Apollo- Apologize- Paulo. Sound kinda similar? lol
* Pearl necklace-Oysters and Pearls- Pearl Station
* Did we ever note how Suns hair got SO long in just 69 days. I'm just saying!
* Building something. Blue prints/Diagram/Plans.
* How long has Juliet been involved with the "Island", REALLY?
* Hints to children, child-like behavior and punishment.  Learning.
* Opposition.
* They are all in a LOOP! Circle.
* Fire wood, water, walk, silence, mirror, learn.
* Map=Key

Vocabulary and Research…
* Geiger counters are used to detect radiation, usually alpha and beta radiation, but also other types of radiation as well. The sensor is a Geiger-Muller tube.
*A Beacon is an intentionally conspicuous device designed to attract attention to a specific location. Beacons help guide navigators to their destinations. Types of navigation beacon include radar reflectors, radio beacons, and sonic or visual signals. Visual beacons range from small, single-pile structures to large lighthouses or light stations and are located on land or in water. Lighted beacons are called lights; unlighted beacons are called day beacons. Classically, beacons are fires lit at well-known locations on hills or high places, used either as lighthouses for navigation at sea, or for signaling over land that enemy troops are approaching, and alerting the defense.
* The Map. HM Melbourne Assessment Prison is an Australian remand and reception prison located in Spencer Street, Melbourne, Victoria. The prison is also known by the nickname 'The Map'.
- Map-In many programming languages, map is the name of a higher-order function that applies a given function to a sequence of elements (such as a list) and returns a sequence of results.
- Video games, a level (also known by many other names) is a discrete subdivision of a video game's virtual world or set of challenges.
- Map of the mind. A diagram used to represent words, ideas, tasks or other items linked to and arranged radially around a central key word or idea.
- A pendulum is a mass (or bob) on the end of a string of negligible mass, which, when initially displaced, will swing back and forth under the influence of gravity over its central (lowest) point. The regular motion of a pendulum can be used for time keeping; pendulums are used to regulate pendulum clocks.
The most widespread application is for timekeeping. A pendulum whose period is 2 seconds is called the seconds pendulum since each swing takes one second. Clocks that keep time with the use of pendulums lose accuracy due to friction. Pendulums are also widely used as metronomes for musicians.
-A metronome is any device that produces a regulated aural, visual or tactile pulse to establish a steady tempo in the performance of music.
Also Click track.
Tempo
is always measured in beats per minute (BPM); metronomes can be set to variable tempi, usually ranging from 40 to 208 BPM.
Beat
Rhythm

A very interesting thing I want to point out is that you can always exchange the Castaways usage of the word "dock or doc" for "Jack" and the story seems to connect right back to him.
The Glass Ballerina...Has something interrupted this ballet? Who exactly is choreographing this dance?

Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right! The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either! You all know I hate spoilers! And I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Understood? Good! Let the fun begin! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance! It will get very exciting as we progress into the story.

A Tale of Two Cities

Let's talk about LOST! A Tale of Two Cities.

EYE.
A woman loads a CD into the CD player. {The CD itself has no markings on it.} The song "Down Town by Petula Clark is playing.
A blond woman wearing an orange spaghetti strap top looks into the mirror. {Uh huh.} She sets up chairs in a living room for a gathering/meeting. Then she's wearing a purple shirt with her hair in pony tail. The beeping of the oven is heard. She has burned the muffins and her left hand.
The doorbell rings.
An older woman is at the door.
The two women peek at the man fixing the plumbing underneath the house. The older woman comments about the plumbing not being fixed yet.
The man tells her, "It's a work in progress."
{All the while the song Downtown is STILL playing!}

They are having a book club meeting with six people.
Adam seems to be complaining about the book.
He claims “It's not even literature, its popcorn.”

He continues with "There's no metaphor, it's by the numbers religious hokum pokum, its science fiction.”   He feels that's why Ben isn't at this meeting; he never would have approved of the book being discussed, feeling Ben "Wouldn't read this in the damn bathroom.“
Apparently the host picks the book. The blond woman is insulted as she is the host and picked the book and this is her favorite book; Carrie by Stephen King. {I've read every King book!} She comments about sinking so low by selecting something that Ben wouldn't like…"Thinking that Free Will still actually exists". {Note: hardcover and paperback versions of the book there.}

The house starts to shake and rattle; things come crashing off the walls, etc. {We see a reflection of Adam in the mirror.}Everyone heads for safety in the doorway as per the directions/instructions from the blond woman.
The rattling stops!
They all head outside to take a look. Other people come running out of their houses.
The man working on the plumbing underneath the house is revealed to be Ethan!
Henry comes out of his house and looking up at the sky for something.
They all look up and see a plane "start" to break up overhead. {Oceanic logo}

Henry directs Goodwin to the tail section; in the water, "You can make that shore in an hour."
He also directs Ethan to the fuselage, "There may actually be survivors and you're one of them. A passenger you're in shock. Come up with an adequate story if they ask. Stay quiet. If they don't. Listen, Learn. Don't get involved. I want lists in three days. GO!"
{On your mark, get set, GO! Hmmm?!}
He asks the blond woman, "So I guess I'm out of the book club?"
This is Ben.
{Note that no one is panicking. Everyone just stands and watches. All is calm and under control.}
We get a shot of this little village; then the camera zooms out to show us it's on the HUGE Island! {Note the white bird/dove that flies up.}

Jack, looking scruffy, tired and troubled, sits in his car spying/stalking on Sarah. He’s wearing his wedding ring and drinking coffee.
In the schoolyard is Sarah where she must be a teacher. Children are playing in the playground.

Jack sits suspicious of Sarah. {There is his pager, it's says 7:15 23 am. Crossword puzzle, hospital ID badge with the super short haircut}
The song 'Moonlight Serenade' plays on the radio.
Sarah is looking at artwork with another man; she whispers in his ear. This man has a red artist's tool box. He also holds a sketch pad framed in yellow. She is giddy around this man.

EYE.
Jack wakes up!
It is dark in this "room"; he is groggy. His blood had drawn. He tries to open a door and tries to communicate through an old intercom on the wall but gets nowhere. He sees an open door. {Tempting him} He walks to it but walks right into a "glass wall". He tries to break through the glass wall but to no avail. Jack yells out for Kate!

Showers in a bathroom:
Kate wakes up and sees shoes.
Tom is there. "Rise and shine, Kate."
She asks where she is but of course he won't answer that question. Kate asks where Sawyer and Jack are. Tom offers her to "Take a nice hot shower, “Wake yourself up."
Kate won’t in shower front of him.
Tom laughs and says "You're not my type."
She has had blood drawn too. {These communal showers have lockers.}

Sawyer wakes up in a cage.
You hear the sounds of birds and a rooster, but they are not real: they are recorded and coming from speakers. We see another DHARMA symbol. {The HYDRA} A young man/teen is in another cage; he has his back to Sawyer. Sawyer asks him where they are but the kid doesn't answer.
Sawyer is curious about the large round red button that has a fork and knife symbol on it. {Food drop.} He pushes the button two times; a woman's recorded voice is heard.
The kid in the other cage tells Sawyer "I wouldn't do that."
Sawyer fluffs off his advice and hit's the button again. This time Sawyer is thrown across his cage because he was shocked, zapped with electricity!

Back in his dark glass cell, Jack sees a blinking red light on a video camera. {Being watched.} He climbs up thick chains and tries to pull them down.   A woman's voice tells him to stop that!
It is the blond woman from earlier; this is Juliet.
{FLASH}
Jack steps out of elevator and checks in at the reception counter at the lawyers office. Sarah is there. Jack is wearing his wedding ring; Sarah is not.    Jack has fired his lawyer.
He apologizes to Sarah "for pushing them to this place."
In the middle of his emotional "reaching out" Sarah's cell phone rings and she takes the call. Whoever is on the other end is important to her and knows why she's there; makes her giggle.
Jack seems sad/troubled by this. He wants to know what his name is.
Jack is hell bent on learning the name of the man in Sarah's life but Sarah won't give him an answer.
Yes, Jack is hurting.
Sarah walks away from him.

In his glass cell Jack is still pulling on the chains. Juliet goes over to adjust the volume on a sound/mixing board; making the microphone a bit louder. {With a touch of feedback too.} Jack asks where his friends are.
Juliet tries to calmly talk him down from the chains. She will tell him about his friends if he lets go of the chain. Juliet thinks Jack is stubborn. So, stubborn Jack keeps pulling on the chains.
{Like a child!}

Kate showers.
Her clothes have been removed from the locker room. She finds a note that directs her to put on the dress that is left for her. Kate wipes the fog off a giant mirror! {HOLY SHIT!}
Tom comes to get her, "Come on Kate, he's waiting."

Tom leads {with a few others} Kate down steps to outside.
She's led to a beach.
A beautiful Tiki like canopy covers Ben. An elegant table is set for two with a beautiful breakfast. Kate sees him and pulls away seemingly afraid to go to him. Ben is a gentleman. He tells her she must put the handcuffs on or she "don't get any coffee." {She must really want coffee because she puts the cuffs on tighter.}
Kate asks him, "What did you do with Sawyer and Jack?"
Ben comments on her choosing Sawyer's name over Jacks'.
Kate-"You don't know me."
Ben- "Of course I don't."
He tells her she can't have her clothes back because "We burned them." {Kate burned up her father.}
Kate-"Why did you bring me here? Why did you make me put on this dress? Why are you feeding me breakfast?"
Ben tells her he brought here there by the water so she would feel comforted; that your friends were looking out at the same ocean. He gave her the dress so she would feel like a lady and he wanted her to eat her food with a real live fork and feel civilized. He did all those things so she'd have something nice to hold on to, "Because Kate, the next two weeks are going to get very unpleasant."
{Comforted? As if it was home? Does Kate know who he is? Where she is? Is she going to be
{FLASH}
Jack is in his office {wedding ring on and a watch} is making phone calls to phone numbers from Sarah's cell phone. He's trying to find out "Who he is".
Jack's on the phone making up a story to the person on the other end, "She dropped her cell phone. I don't even know her last name. You're number was in her phone."
Christian {Chief of surgery} comes in. He seems troubled by Jacks new behavior.   Jack tells Christian to give him a minute; this while Jack with the phone in his hand, is scratching names off a list! Christian tells Jack he has to stop this, “It's over.”
Jack insists it's not; not until he knows his name, where he works, where he lives, when they first kissed….
Jack dials another number and Christian's cell phone rings.
It is revealed that Sarah has at least called Christian. This really troubles Jack. Christian again tells Jack to "Let this go."
Christian shares with Jack that Sarah was calling because "She was afraid for you. You were slipping. You were losing your grip! That's exactly what's happening here!"
Christian knows about being obsessive. {Yeah, So DO I! LOL!}
Jack-"Being a drunk is not obsessive." {Who is the drunk here?}
Christian-"Let it go Jack."

Jack trying to get out of his glass cell. He lets water drip into his mouth; it tastes like crap. He hears sound and voices coming from the intercom. He hears Christian say "Let it go Jack."
This startles him!
The lights go on. Juliet appears on the other side of the glass, all sweet. She brings him food and bottled water. She directs him were to sit inside the cell so she can bring him the tray. Jack is freaking about the guy who's trying to talk to him via the intercom.
Juliet informs him that intercom hasn't worked in years.
Jack asks her what the red button behind her is. She tells him it's for emergencies.
Jack-"Who's watching me?" {Fucking Finally!}
She again asks him if he'll sit against the wall; offering the grilled cheese just off the frying pan. It's cut into four, with four toothpicks. {Like it's cut for a child.}
Jack refuses the food.
Juliet asks him his profession. Jack paces in his cell and says he's a Repo man! {Wow! Different role for Jack! Is she quizzing him?} She asks if he's married and he says no; he never saw the point.
Jack-"What about you?"
Juliet
again, takes control of the questioning. "When your plane crashed, where were you flying from?"
Jack-"Sydney. I was bringing my father home….Because he was dead."
{ I want to note something here. Jack just gave her a whole bunch of other B.S. answers about his life; a made up version. Why would he in a split second decide to tell her this bit about his father being dead?}
Juliet puts her hand against his glass cell and tells him he can trust her. {WTF?}
Jack softens a bit and asks her "What the hell is going on here?"
Of course she doesn't answer him; only walks away eating his sandwich. {Bitch!}
By the way, she didn't make the sandwich she just put the toothpicks in.

Sawyer is hard at work in his cage mastering the art of food retrieval. The kid in the other cage asks him how long a walk is it to his camp, "…Where they got you, how long of a walk was it?…. What are the people like, from your plane? {Except they weren't picked up from the camp. They were taken down with darts by the pneumatic tubes. GO BACK AND LISTEN TO THEIR DIALOG! IMPORTANT!}
The kid has picked the lock to his cage. You hear a recorded woman's voice over speakers "SUBJECT ESCAPED/Escapes"
The kid lets Sawyer out and they run!

We see other types of cages; they look like bird aviaries.

Sawyer runs into Juliet. She takes him down with a funky dart firing air taser, complete with electric voltage! Sawyer gets dragged back into his cage.
Karl has been beaten up and he's forced to make an apology to Sawyer for involving him in his "breakout attempt".

Juliet again comes to Jack bearing food and drink. She explains to him that "The drugs we gave you when we brought you here have a fairly serious side effect; Dehydration. Your head is probably sore, your throat is raw and if you don't eat or drink something soon, you're going to start hallucinating. {Is that real or reverse psychology?}
Jack surmises she's a doctor.
Juliet says "No, I'm a Repo woman."
She goes on to say "No strings attached. {Like a puppet} You don't have to answer any questions. You don't have to do anything but sit with your back up against the far wall. Let me open that door put the plate down and leave. I know it feels like your giving up, like you're losing if you do anything that I ask you too. But you're not. You need to eat. {What a good mommy. LOL} Jack gives in and sits at the far wall.
{FLASH}
Jack is tending to a patient. {The room is fairly dark} Christian is in the hallway of the hospital talking to two other doctors.
Jack's nurse is writing down his instructions. Jack sees Christian answer his ringing cell phone. Jack watches him.
The nurse questions Dr. Jack, "Are you sure he's ready to self administer his pain meds?"
Jack sees that Christian is 'tickled' by whoever is on the other end of that phone call.
Jack is very suspicious.

Christian is pulling up to the Lynford hotel; he has a ticket in his hand. Jack has followed him. {Yep. followed him!}
Jack, still wearing his scrubs, steps out of the elevator and then through double doors; heads into the room that Christian entered. The sign on the door says "Friends of Bill W".
Jack storms into the room where they're having an {AA} meeting. Christian is getting coffee.
Jacks demands to see Christian's cell phone.
Christian calmly tells Jack, "Look where you are. Just look around you."
Again, Jack demands the phone.
The woman leader of the meeting recognizes Jack and suggests Jack "grab a chair and join us." {Does Jack need this meeting too?!  Hmmm?!}
Jack freaks because they all know him. He wants to know what info his 'Dad' revealed about him.
Jack- "That your son never really had it. Not like the old man. I didn't have the will to make it work. My life, my job, my marriage! What did you tell them about my marriage, Dad?"
Jack goes on to try to belittle Christian by exploiting his drinking habits. The woman leader reveals that Christian has been sober for 50 days.
Jack wonders what helped him turn that corner. Jack accuses him of sleeping with his wife.
Christian looks hurt and in disbelief of that comment.
Christian- "Jack. I'm your father. Jack. Please let it go."
Jack attacks Christian. They fight.

Close up of Jack's eyes as we see him eying the door for Juliet's entry.
Juliet comes in and Jack attacks her! Her electric/dart taser thingy falls to the ground.
Jack asks her, "Which way out?" Jack, while holding her by the neck, demands she open the door. She says she can't.
Ben appears and reveals she's telling the truth. Jack threatens to kill her.
Ben-"Have her open the door and she dies anyway. We all do."
Jack starts to open the door and Ben and Juliet run for safety; but only Ben escapes.
Jack's open door and floods the chamber with tons of water!
Juliet and Jack manage to close the door. She tells him to push the yellow button.
Juliet knocks Jack out! {TKO!} Jack is face down in the water.
Juliet saves him.

Sawyer in his cage, grabs a rock so he can try to retrieve some 'food' from the gizmo. He does and a lovely DHARMA fish biscuit is his reward; along with some pellets of food and water. Tom delivers a cuffed Kate to the other cage and locks her in.
Tom is amused that Sawyer figured out how to get a fish biscuit.
Tom-"It only took the bears two hours” to figure out how to do that. {So how long has Sawyer been in the cage?}
Sawyer is very concerned for Kate. He compliments her dress.
Kate tells him, "They made me wear it."
Apparently Kate didn't eat breakfast with Ben; she's hungry.
Sawyer gives her the fish biscuit. {He sure loves her!}

Back in his glass cell Jack wakes up.
Juliet is sitting on the other side with a huge file. Jack figures that he's in an aquarium for sharks. Juliet confirms they are underwater.
Jack is aware of the Dharma Initiative stations
.
Juliet says they (Dharma) called it the Hydra.
Jack wonders, "So, you people are just whatever's left over of them?"
Juliet-"That was a long time ago. It doesn't matter who we were. It only matter who we are. {Well? Who the hell are you?} We know exactly who you are Jack Shepard."
She goes on to tell him his life story, all of it! She's reading it out of a file.
Jack- "What is that?"
Juliet, touching the file- "This Jack, is your life."
It's about his friends and his family. Juliet tells him, "It's pretty much about everything."
Jack asks about his {he was about to say wife} "ex wife".
Juliet is all to happy to share shit about Sarah.

{FLASH}
Jack is in a jail cell. His bail has been posted. {The cardboard file boxes have hand writing on them, v-64-007 division 1. Stalking. Slander. Homicide. The other box- LAPD Docket} Jack puts his wedding ring back on and hands the plastic bag to the officer.

{You can hear the over the speaker “Get ready for lockdown”}
Sarah is standing there waiting for him.
Sarah-"Your dad told me you were here. I called you a cab. So. Goodbye." {She is very shut off from him; at least "to" him.  And Christian is still looking out for Jack.}
She walks away teary eyed and Jack goes after her through double doors.
There is a man waiting by a car across the street.
Jack asks her "Is that him?"
She says it's not going to change anything. Jack demands to know. {Apparently she just isn't going to answer his question. Why the hell not?}
Sarah-"It doesn't matter who he is. It just matters who you're not. Jack, your father, when he called me to help you. He was so drunk I could hardly understand him. {It appears at this point in his life Jack has a total disgust for Christian. But he's hurting. What made Jack turn this opposed to Christian?} Look at the bright side. Now you have something to fix."
Sarah heads over to the man by the car.
Jack is left teary eyed too.

Jack is in his glass cell.
Juliet sweetly asks what he would like to find out. {Why doesn't he just friggin ask her about the damn "Island", why are they there, who they are? All kinds of stuff!}
Jack- "Is she happy?"
Juliet-"Yes Jack. She's very happy."
Jack cries.
Juliet wants to bring him food and water. Jack concedes and sits back against the wall. Juliet leaves with her file.

Outside the door Ben is waiting for her. "Good work Juliet."
Juliet- "Thank you Ben."

A Tale of Two Cities is a GREAT EPISODE!!!

Check out the book Tale of Two Cities. WOW! This is the 2nd historical novel by Charles Dickens. There are many themes in that book that fit into our story.  Two men in love with the same woman, two sides involved in a revolution, man imprisoned-released and tries to reclaim his life, trial, Jacobin Reign of Terror, two people who look the same but have different personalities.  There's even a part of the story that tells about one of the characters who sits in his room and makes shoes.

What are we seeing in this episode? Does the possibility exist that this is a look at Jack's life off/after the "Island"? Hmmm?!    The Jack we see in the Flashes could appear to be a Jack, who after a long absence tries to get his life back. But he can't. Sarah had moved on. Did something happen to change Jack's demeanor? Make him hate Christian? Make him distrust people?
This Jack is angry, un-trusting, confused, out of control and DESPERATE! Possibly a big drinker.  The Jack on the "Island" is very level headed and in control.  Okay, I know you want to say, but Karen, Christian is alive and Jack's married to Sarah. YES. If all these clues are headed in that direction, what kind of FLASH does that make this? Do I dare say...Flash Forward. Could it just be that we're seeing Jack's life-different time…But still not a Flashback. Or is Jack experiencing something, just trying to find out who HE, HIMSELF really is? Confusing, I know.
But no matter what, we can clearly see here how whatever is happening "On island" is reflected in events in the "outside world", and vice versa. Things are BLURRED!

Things to Note…Questions to ask…
* Locke suggests popcorn to Desmond in Live Together Die Alone.
* Real plane "Crash" or image projected on a HUGE screen?   Hologram?  Or is it not even really there? What?
* Ben only sends spies to two of the sections of the plane. Yet we know the plane was in three sections. The tail, fuselage and front/nose {Where the pilot and Charlie's drugs were.}
* When the plane "crashes" Ben is giving direction and motivation as if he's the director of a "play".
* Ben and his role with the "crash"... Is this part of an exercise? A project? A learning drill? A game.
* The same song on radio as the day Hurley and Sayid make the radio.
* The drugs that the Others give the Castaways really knock them out! They don't even wake up when they get blood drawn or transported.
* What's with all the coffee in this episode? Coffee is a stimulant.
* Could the "whispers" they hear in the jungle be coming from speakers or when they are half asleep; semi-conscious?
* We don't find that Sawyer had blood work done. Why?
* Sawyer has to figure out how to get food. Jack gets food handed to him! Is Jack privileged or special? Kate has breakfast with Ben.
* Could Ben know all of them? Know they were "arriving" on the "Island"?  Ben knows lots! Love that!
* Jack says to the person on the other end of the phone in the FLASH that "I don't even know her last name…Sawyer tells Jack in a past episode "I didn't even know her last name." When talking about Ana Lucia.
* Jack calling Sarah's cell phone numbers. Jack dials Christian's number. JACK DOESN'T KNOW HIS OWN FATHERS CELL PHONE NUMBER! This is a number he is unfamiliar with! Do you know your families cell numbers? Unless Christian is really a representation of Jack. How's that for thinking outside of the LOST box?!
* THE LYNFORD. Could that be someone we meet in the future? Lyn Ford? Could it be a connection to James Ford? Am I just messed up in the head?
* Christian sober for 50 days. Did all their lives change 50 days ago? Christian sleeping with Sarah? No! Jack must have a big reason for not trusting and believing anything Christian says or does. Again...Unless Christian is really a representation of Jack.
