What Kate Does.

Let's talk about LOST! What Kate Does.

Barefooted Lennon hurries down the temple pathways to tell Dogen {Typing on an old typewriter} that "He's alive."   {Who? Sayid? Jacob? Locke?}
Dogen grabs hold of pendant his wears around his neck.
Happy Jack looks at awake Sayid.
Hurley sees this, "It worked! Dude, you're okay!"
Hurley hugs Sayid but Jack wants Hurley to let Sayid breathe. Jack asks confused Miles to get Sayid some water.
Sayid leans against Hurley with his eyes closed as he feels a little lightheaded.
Sayid asks "What happened to me?"
Jack smiles and happily tells him "You died."  {yet here he is...awake!}
Now Sayid looks confused.

Kate and Sawyer stand away from them. Skeptical Kate wonders how that's even possible, "I mean, one minute he's gone and now he's fine?" {I'm sure she's seen the previously thought to be dead come back and she brought young Ben to be saved from the clutches of death too.}
Sarcastic Sawyer feels of course he's fine, "He's an Iraqi torturer who shoots kids he definitely deserves another go-around." 
Sawyer is contemplating his exit strategy. He asks Kate how many guys with guns are outside this place; he was out cold when they brought him in. "How many guards did you see, 5, 10, 100?" Sawyer shares with Kate he's thinking about running.
{Air plane engine/sounds-rumble}
Kate is outside the airport and she runs from Edward. She seeks escape in a taxi that already has a customer in it. Claire. {The dialogue is different here from the last episode!} Claire begs to be let out and tough gun toting Kate tells her to be quiet.
The driver stops as to not hit Arzt, who is bent over picking up something. "I'm walking here. I'm walking here!" {I guess the pigs weren't walking this time around. lol}
As they wait for Arzt to move his ass Kate sees Jack in the distance chatting on the phone. She looks confused. Claire tries to run but Kate pulls her back in. Kate demands the driver go; so he runs over Arzt's bag.
The backseat driver Kate directs the nervous driver to take a left at the light. Once stopped at the red light Claire begs to be let go and the driver runs away.
Cuffed and armed Kate jumps over the seat and takes the wheel. She demands Claire's purse and kicks pregnant Claire out of the car without letting her get her suitcase. {What a bitch!}
{Air plane engine/sounds-rumble}
Sayid is helped outside into the courtyard by the boys.
Sayid-"Who are these people and what do they want?"
Hurley-"It's the Others, dude. They caught us...again. I don't know...I think they're trying to protect us."
Miles notes that Hugo has assumed the leadership position; apparently this bothers him.
Jack examines Sayid's almost completely closed wound. Sayid looks puzzled and thanks Jack for saving his life.

Dogen storms over to confirm Sayid is alive. They want Sayid to come inside with them but Jack insists he go along too. Lennon informs Jack they need Sayid alone, that they have a few questions for him.
Jack-"You have a few questions, well so do we. Let's start with 'Who are you?', 'Why are you holding us here?' You..."
Lennon speaks for Dogen and lets Jack know once they've spoken to Mr. Jarrah they'd be happy to tell them everything they want to know. {We've heard this before!} Well, something tells smart Jack that they're not going to be happy to tell them anything. Dogen seems to not want to be bothered with Jack and the boys so he has his men physically subdue them.

Two shots ring out; it's Sawyer. {Is there a new sheriff in town again? lol} Dogen doesn't want his men to shoot at Sawyer. Lennon assures Sawyer they're not going to hurt his friend. Sawyer doesn't give a shit, they can do what they want because he's walking out of there.
Kate tries to get James to stop but he announces "I'm gone! You understand." He starts to remove the barricade and Dogen in English begs "Please. You have to stay."
Sawyer-"No, I don't....Don't come after me." He walks out the door.

Dogen's men take Sayid away and this upsets Jack, so fired up gun slinging Aldo wants everyone to calm down.
Lennon asks Jack were Ford went. Jack doesn't know. {I don't think Jack knows his last name is Ford.} Lennon asks Jack if he expects him to believe that.
Restrained Jack wonders, "He told me he wanted to kill me. You believe that?"
Kate proclaims she can bring him back even though she says she doesn't know where he went but she can track him. She is confident in her convincing skills not only to bring him back but to make him stay. {What a gal!} Jin offers to go with her.
Lennon informs Kate it's very important that Ford gets back there safely.
{Air plane engine/sounds-rumble}
Kate pulls the taxi into a ratty garage. Armed, she asks the mechanic where his tire hammer is.

The mechanic-"A tire hammer will just cut off your wrists. Your problem is you need a punch press. And you're not going to be able to use one of those and keep that gun pointed at me." He's kind of volunteering. He does have a steady hand but feels they got off on the wrong foot. Kate warms up and offers him $200. The mechanic frees her from the bracelets and he's curious about them Kate shares she's wanted for murder.                                 

Kate-"You don't have somewhere I can change, do you?"
He points her in the direction of the bathroom, "Make it quick."

 

In the bathroom with its very old dirty and worn out mirror, and wheels all over, Kate goes through the bag she wouldn't let Claire take with her.





On top of baby goodies is a Polaroid picture of pregnant Claire and a stuffed whale.

{Air plane engine/sounds-rumble}

Kate packs rope in her backpack. Jin is packing his backpack. Aldo warns Kate she better not slow them down.
Kate quietly says "You better not slow me down."
Jin observes this.
Jack tells Kate he'd go with her but he must fear Sawyer will kill him. {Uh, Sawyer said he wasn't gonna kill Jack.}
Kate will take care of James while Jack takes care of Sayid.
Jack-"Deal."
He pulls her back but only enough to lovingly tell her to be careful.
{Jack won't go there again or at least at this point!}


Sayid is strapped down to a table and his head is restrained.
Dogen blows some ashy powder over Sayid and looks into it as if trying to see an image of some sort. He also attaches wires to his chest {Head-Heart} and stomach because he is going to run current through Sayid's body as some sort of test.
Nervous Sayid just wants to know what Dogen wants.


Dogen cranks an old piece of equipment that looks like it was put together by an engineering and science student. {Listen to the sounds it makes and the color light it has.}

 This machine produces electric currents that shock Sayid.
Dogen even pumps up the juice for a stronger jolt.
Sayid yells out in pain, cries and asks why he's doing this. Sayid doesn't have any secrets. Then Dogen burns Sayid with a red hot poker; being careful to look at Sayid's eyes/face while being burned.
Lennon unstraps Sayid and apologizes that they had to put him through that. He explains it was a test, "We had to be sure." Of course they don't tell Sayid what they need to be sure about.
Lennon-"You passed." Sayid is escorted out.
Lennon asks Dogen, "I just lied to him, didn't I?"
Dogen, who is writing notes down says, "Yes."

Claire is sitting alone on a bench on a street. Kate pulls up in the taxi and makes nice nice with Claire. "Where were you going?"
Kate returns her bags and lets her know she didn't take any of her money. She offers to take Claire to the home of the couple who are adopting her baby on Langdon street in Brentwood. They were supposed to meet Claire at the airport but didn't show up. Claire thinks they got their days mixed up or something, "It's not like they abandoned me."
Claire takes the offer.
{Air plane engine/sounds-rumble}
In the jungle Kate asks Aldo why they want them to stay at the temple.
Aldo-"We're protecting you."
Apparently from the big pillar of black smoke that makes a ticka-ticka sound and looks pissed off. He does note Kate's been on this island a while.
Jin asks Aldo if he knows anything about another plane coming in, "An Ajira flight."
Aldo-"I'm sorry,is this a press conference?"
Justin interjects with mentioning the one that landed... Aldo tells him to shut up. {Well Jin, there's your answer!}
Kate gets a closer look at a decoy trail and directs them the other way. She bases it on her experience. Justin agrees with Kate.
Aldo-"Of course she is. After you princess." {Love it!!} He asks Kate what her strategy is for bringing her boyfriend back. Sawyer shot a guy on his way out.
Justin saves Kate from stepping on a tripwire on the ground. Jin thinks it looks like one of Rousseau's traps. The tripwire connects to a large net filled with rocks.
Justin-"The French woman? She's been dead for years. This couldn't be one of hers."
Again Aldo shuts him up.
Tough Kate demands Aldo tell her what Justin was gonna say.
Aldo-"You don't even remember me, do you? You don't recognize me?! Well maybe this'll jog your memory...Three years ago You staged yourself a prison break and ya did it by knocking the guard out with the butt of your rifle. That would be me."
Kate hits him, tosses her canteen to trip the tripwire and releasing the trap. With both guys knocked out she takes their guns. Jin wonders what she's doing.
Kate-"Escaping."

Sayid is returned to the "spring" room and is met by Miles, Hurley and Jack. Hurley felt it necessary to announce "He's back!"
Sayid is in pain; he shares that they tortured him and he doesn't know why. "They didn't ask me any questions."
This fires up Jack. He walks over to the two armed guards at the door and tells them to step aside; which they do. {Wow! That was too easy.}

Jack finds his way and walks right into Dogen's lab where he's mixing up a concoction. Lennon is happy to see Shephard came on his own. Jack demands to know what they did to Sayid. The talking head, Lennon says they didn't do anything to him, "Your friend is sick."
He tried to find explain, although there's not a literal translation...the closest thing would be..."infected".
Jack doubts that as Sayid isn't even running a fever. Dogen gives a mocking chuckle.
Jack-"Did I say something funny?"
Lennon doubts it because, "He doesn't really have a sense of humor" although Lennon's comment seems to amuse Dogen.
Dogen has created a pill which he wants Jack to give his friend. Jack wonders why Dogen doesn't give it to him.
Lennon-"Because it won't work unless he takes it willingly and he won't take it willingly from us." {He kind of laughs his way through that.}
Jack-"Maybe you should have asked him to take it before you tortured him."
Lennon-"We didn't torture him. We were diagnosing him." You know...to see if he was infected. Jack isn't giving anything to Sayid unless he knows what's in it.
This compels Dogen to reach out to Jack by speaking English and playing on the role/fault that Jack played in Sayid getting hurt; along with the others who were hurt or died by helping Jack. {All of this for a friggin pill! Come on!}
Dogen tells guilty Jack that this {pill mission} is his way to redeem himself. He puts the tiny with package with the pill in Jack's hand.
Dogen-"It's medicine. And your friend needs it."
Jack-"What happens if I don't give it to him?"
Dogen-"The infection will spread."

Miles questions Sayid about his experience. "So, nothing,there wasn't anything? No white light, angels singing, no dead relatives?"
Sayid remembers being shot.
Hurley wonders if he's a zombie. Sayid is not a zombie. {So, did Sayid "really" die or not?}
Hurley is cool leaving Jack and Sayid alone for their chat because "Yeah, see, private talks kinda freak me out coz they usually lead to me having to do something I don't quite understand."
Jack-"I'm right there with ya."
Miles and Hurley will be in the "food court" if they need them. Jack drinks some water from a canteen and Sayid doesn't want a drink when Jack offers him some.
Jack tells weak and angry Sayid that the Others were trying to diagnose him. Sayid doesn't buy it, "They told me it was some sort of test...which they said I passed. Clearly I didn't."
Jack shows him the pill that the Others claim is medicine.
Jack- "I don't know. And you know before, when you, when you thanked me for saving your life... I didn't have anything to do with it Sayid. I didn't fix you, they did."
Sayid-"I don't care who fixed me. I only care about who I trust. So if you want me to take that pill Jack, I'll do it."
{Is it just me or does Sayid's accent sound different. lol. You can see Jack is not sure and he also doesn't know who to trust. Does he take the leap of faith?}

Jin asks Kate, "Where are you going?"
Kate is catching up with Sawyer even though she has no intention of going back to the temple; she's not interested in being a prisoner.
Jin-"Where did your plane land, Kate?!"
You know, the plane she, Jack and Hurley came in on. Sun was on that plane too and he has to find her. {OMG! He's SO close!!}
Kate-"You think they're gonna tell you? You think they care about you or about Sun or about any of us?" {Who?! Kate you ass, he's talking directly to you!}
Jin-"Who do you care about, Kate?"
Kate wishes him "good luck" and walks away. When she catches up with Sawyer she guess they'll figure out what to do next.
{Air plane engine/sounds-rumble}
Kate drives the taxi with the directions in her hand. Claire asks where her handcuffs went.
Kate-"I cut them off." Claire likes the nice neighborhood and feels the "couple" are nice too. {Kate gives a look.}
Claire-" What you think they didn't come to the airport on purpose?"
Kate-"Why would I think that?"
Claire-"Good. Coz They didn't." They arrive at the house and Claire needs the support of her new criminal friend to go in with her because she doesn't want to go up there on her own. Kate wonders if she's kidding her.
Distraught Mrs. Bascom answers the door. Claire introduces herself to the woman. Mrs. Bascom won't be adopting the baby because her husband left her. She wants Claire to believe that she wanted the baby so much but she can't do it alone.
Claire-"So you just changed your mind?" Mrs. Bascom explains her life is a little bit complicated.
Kate speaks up on Claire's behalf, "She came all the way from Australia and you don't call?"
On cue Claire gets pains, "Ah! It's coming!"
{Air plane engine/sounds-rumble}
Armed Kate arrives at the ramshackle Dharma barracks. She hears noise coming from inside a house; Sawyer's house.

She watches him from the hallway as he retrieves a memory box{Magic box} from beneath the floorboards. The heartbroken man takes out a small piece of brown fabric. It means something to him. He hears a noise and threatens to shoot the intruder. Kate tells him she's there because she was worried about him. Sawyer doesn't really give a shit.

Kate pulls the taxi up to an emergency clinic where Claire is put into a blue wheelchair. The nurse is informed Claire thinks she's having contractions that started 3 minutes ago. {A whole entire fucking three minutes ago!! Wow!}
A black and white cop car pulls into the lot. Kate confirms to the nurse she's with Claire.

In the OB Triage and hooked up to monitors, Claire is near panic over what's going on with the baby. Kate heads into the hallway and grabs the attention of Dr. Goodspeed to go and take a look at Claire. Claire's freaking out.
Goodspeed-"What's happening...is that mother nature's gotten a little ahead of herself. Are you ready to have your baby?"
Claire-"Ah,ah,I'm sorry what!?"
Goodspeed-"You're at 36 weeks. 3 centimeters dilated, and about 80 percent effaced, which means...if you want you can have your baby tonight."
Claire-"If I want? So what y, you, you mean you can stop it then?"
Goodspeed-"Maybe, however to do that would require a number of drugs."
Claire-"What drugs? I mean will that hurt the baby?"
Goodspeed-"No their perfectly safe, I just don't wanna have to stick you with needles if I don't have to. So, it's up to you."
Claire-"I,I'm not ready." {So, just like that it gets to be "turned off-stopped" hmmm}
Goodspeed-"OK, let's get her started on an Nifedipine drip." The Maternal Fetal monitor goes flat line and Claire freaks.


Goodspeed-"Margret, let's do an ultrasound. I want to get a picture of what's going on in there, ah, it could just mean the baby's out of position."
Claire-"Wh,what are you saying? What's happening to my baby!? Is my baby ok? Is Aaron Ok?"
Goodspeed-"See? {baby image moves} There he is. Everything's just fine. Your boy just likes to move around. 140 BPM perfectly normal. I have a feeling, that Aaron, is gonna be a handful. Now let's see if we can slow this down. Ya did great mommy. Thanks."
Kate holds Claire's hand or Claire holds Kate's hand.

{Air plane engine/sounds-rumble}
Sawyer site alone on the end of the dock until Kate comes to visit.
Kate-"A couple of days ago you asked me why I came back to the island...I need to find Claire. I thought, maybe if I could catch up to you, you could help me, and then, maybe if we could find her and bring her back to Aaron then maybe all of this wouldn't have been for nothing. I'm sorry. I never should have followed you."
Sawyer-"Which time?"
Kate notes the house he shared with Juliet and apologizes to him for Juliet. "If I hadn't come after you on the sub then you two would have left and she would have never died..."
Sawyer feels it's not her fault she's dead, he feels it's his fault. He is teary eyed telling the story of when Juliet was sitting on the dock "tryin' to leave this place... and I convinced her to stay. I made her stay on this island because I didn't want to be alone. You understand that, right? But, uh... But I think some of us are meant to be alone. {He looks at a diamond ring he's holding} I was gonna ask her to marry me." {Got that engagement ring from the Dharma Initiative jeweler, did ya?} He throws the ring into the water. He feels Kate can probably make it back to the temple by nightfall and walks away. Kate cries alone.

Dogen spins a baseball on his desk {Note typewriter, red books, cloth under typewriter.} Jack walks in and asks, "What's that?"
{Really, Jack?! You know baseball, don't ya? Your daddy taught you all about the Red Socks.}
Jack remarks Dogen speaks pretty good English for someone who needs a translator.
Dogen is amused, "We both know that I don't need a translator."
He explains he needs one because he has to remain separate from the people he's in charge of. {Walks among them, but is not one of them.} It makes it easier when they don't like the decisions he makes for them. {Is Jack talking to himself here!?}
Jack-"Who are you?"
Dogen-"My name is Dogen."
Jack-"Are you from here, the island?"
Dogen-"I was brought here like everyone else." {See, the "island" is a place you are brought to.}
Jack-"What do you mean, brought here?"
Dogen-"You know exactly what I mean... You didn't give your friend the pill, did you?"
Jack confirms he didn't because he doesn't know what's in it. Jack "got that" it would eliminate the infection.
Jack holds the pill and asks "What's in it?"
Dogen can't explain; there isn't any time, even though Dogen says "he'll die..."
Jack-"He already died!" Jack insists on knowing what's in it and Dogen just wants Jack to trust him. {Again, Jack can't trust/leap of faith.}
Jack-"I don't trust myself. How am I supposed to trust you?...Let's see where trust gets us."
Jack swallows the pill and Dogen physically removes the pill from him. Jack wonders if Dogen will tell him now what's in it. {Boy, Jack is still stubborn!}
Dogen-"Poison."

Claire smiles as she looks at the black and white ultrasound printout image of the baby. She is visited by a detective and officer. The woman detective Rasmussen comes in asking about the woman who signed in with Claire, Joan Hart.
Claire didn't immediately know who she was talking about.


The police officer looks around but doesn't seem to do a very good job because he doesn't find Joan Hart who is hiding in an attached storage room. Claire tells the detective Joan Hart was just the cab driver. "I needed help and she brought me up here."
Rasmussen asks if Hart gave any indication where she was headed. Claire doesn't know so they leave.
Joan Hart thanks Claire and Claire asks, "Why are they after you? What did you do?"
Joan/Kate-"Would you believe me if I said I was innocent?"
Claire would believe her. She also offers Joan/Kate her "not much of a limit" credit card for doing what she did for her. Of course Joan/Kate takes it and compliments the baby's name; Aaron.
Amused Claire doesn't know why she said it, "It's like... I don't know...I knew it or something."
Joan/Kate-"I think you should keep him."
Claire wishes her good luck.
Joan/Kate-"You too."
{Air plane engine/sounds-rumble}
Kate fills up her canteen from the spout outside a Dharma house and she watches lost Sawyer enter the house; he doesn't say a word to her.

Dogen pours 2 cups of tea and confirms to Lennon that Jack swallowed it. Dogen puts the cup in front of Jack and Jack questions what it is. Dogen tells him it's tea and they both drink it. Jack wonders why they want to kill Sayid.
Dogen-"We believe he's been...{says something in Japanese}"
Lennon-"The closest translation is claimed." Jack asks claimed by "what".
Dogen-"There's a darkness growing in him. Once it reaches his heart...Everything your friend once was...will be gone."
Jack wonders how Dogen can be sure of that.
Dogen-"Because it happened to your sister."

Jin treks through the jungle with a rifle and stops for a drink by the stream and is jumped by Aldo and Justin. Aldo knees him, "That's for my head!" He asks where that bitch is. Jin tells Aldo he doesn't understand as he's going back to the temple. Justin thinks Jin is alone and they should take him back, but Aldo remarks, "Maybe we didn't find him alive."
Justin-"Aldo, no! We can't, he's one of them!"
Aldo-"He may be one of them." Jin makes a run for it and his foot is caught in a trap! Sarcastic Aldo asks Jin, "Where you going?" and is shot two times in the chest while Justin gets taken out with one shot. Jin looks up to see it is Claire who fired the shots.
Claire looks puzzled and confused.






What Kate Does is a GREAT episode!
Hmmm, make a quick change, Kate.
I am so sad for Sawyer, after a few years of finding peace, love and a sense of "growing up" he now has a broken heart that is being filled with hurt, anger and loneliness.
Is the "infection" a form of a poisoned heart? Meaning a heart that is so hurt it turns ugly and filled with anger and resentment? Or is the "infection" a contamination of something else? Maybe there is no "infection" at all.
Kate and all the Lostie's seem to me to be having memory and a sense of things being very familiar. How can we deny that?!
Plus we still get repeated "Island" images/dialogue/scenarios/people/clothes/items that are very close to "off island". How can we deny that?!

Another thing I should mention is after all these years with the way I format my notes and photos I think it's safe to say the same clues do indeed repeat themselves over and over and over again... like a friggin loop!


Things to Note...Questions to ask...
* We see two different versions of Kate's dialogue with the taxi driver at the airport. WTF is up with that?
* This season seems to have a state of voices and sounds in the background.
* Sawyer yells "Hey, I'm walking here" in Two for the Road when Christian is getting out of the car at the bar.
* Karma. Redemption.
* Life-Death-Rebirth.
* Kate doesn't notice Claire's pregnant until she looks through the bag.
* Game. Deal. Strategy. Baseball. Christian.
* On the move. Out of position. Time. Timer.
* Test. Exam. Examine. Diagnose.
* Richard doesn't want Locke shot and Dogen doesn't want Sawyer shot.
* Sawyer throws an engagement ring in the water. Desmond throws an engagement ring in the water.
* Sayid is connected to a machine that produces electric current. This also happened when Rousseau captured him. And we've seen Locke use a machine that supposedly stimulates his legs with electric current.
* Maybe only a part of Sayid "died".
* Mechanic. Machines. Tools. Chains. Medical equipment. Ultrasound.
* Wires. Electro-machine. Head restraint. Limb restraints.
* Driver. Tools. Toolbox. Monitor. Printed out data/photo.
* Head and Chest- Hearts and Minds.

* Guns, Guns, Guns, Guns...and yes...more guns.

* "Ethan"-"Goodspeed" is a doctor in L.A.. We've seen him in Miami and on the "island". Is he in L.A. because Cheng saved him from one of the purges? Or is "Ethan" anywhere he "needs" to be?
* Ethan examined pregnant Claire on the "island".
* I wouldn't be surprised if the temple with its courtyard is shown in an overhead shot and it's the shape of a huge Bagua. The center of a Bagua offers protection.
* Does Jack know why they were brought to the island? How much does Jack really know about other "island" related things and people?
* The tortured torturer gets tortured!

* I must again bring up The Psychedelic Experience.  Based on The Tibetan Book of the Dead, it is an instruction manual intended for use during sessions involving psychedelic drugs.  It is authored by Timothy Leary, Ralph Metzner and Richard Alpert.
I also wanted to add that in the 1960's John Lennon and the Beatles explored the "mind freeing" and "altered state of consciousness" experiences with drugs to reach enlightenment, spiritual connection and experience "Ego Death".    On the album Revolver, specifically the song "Tomorrow Never Knows", Lennon's lyrics were directly connected to Timothy Leary's The Psychedelic Experience.

We learned in What Kate Did that Kate has murder in her heart.
The mirror Kate looks into was not clear, could that mean she's "infected"?    We also know she has a soft spot for babies.
What does Kate do? She takes control of people's lives, pulls them in and doesn't realize the enormity of the wake she leaves them in. What is really in Kate's heart?

These people are desperate to know, "Where are they going?" and they look in the mirror and wonder, "Who are you?"   Those are real questions someone who is truly lost will ask.

Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right! The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either! You all know I hate spoilers! And I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Understood? Good! Let the fun begin! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance! It will get very exciting as we progress into the story.

Let's talk about LOST! One of Us.

Sayid, Juliet, Kate and Jack are on their trek; they cross and stop at the stream.
Sayid tells them it's getting late; it's a good place to make camp.  Sayid drinks from his canteen.   Jack and Kate gather firewood. {We get a lot time watching them break and gather the limbs.}
Kate asks him if he wants to talk about the week he spent over there with "Them".   Jack tells her he made a deal with them, if he took care of Ben, "they'd let me off the Island. I kept my head down, did what I was supposed to. And I didn't ask any questions."  That's it.
Juliet freshens up in the stream. Sayid approaches Juliet wanting to know "What you people are doing on this Island? Why are you people are terrorizing us? Making lists. Kidnapping children. I want to know everything. But the first thing I'd like to know is, who are you?"   {She obviously doesn't know!}
{Flash}
Dr. Juliet Burke pulls up to a secured facility. The song Downtown plays on the radio.   She's met by a guard; tells him she's with Mittelos Bioscience and shows her ID.  Her sister Rachel is with her.  The guard will let Mr. Alpert know she's here.   Rachel sees the security cameras and comments that they're taking the corporate secrecy thing a little too seriously.   Juliet feels she'll never fit with these people.

Ethan knocks on the car window 2x and asks Juliet to pop the trunk so he can get her bags. {Window going up and down! Open/Close!}
The gate opens and Richard greets them, "You managed to find us."
Juliet with purse and key says, "I didn't even know there was an airport out here."
Richard-"I know. It surprises everyone." {Car has Florida plate.} Richard introduces himself to Rachel and thanks her for letting them borrow her sister for a few months.
Rachel- "Just promise me you'll bring her back in one piece."
Richard-"Well, we'll do our best." {OMFG! Do your best?!} {Men wearing ties, except for Ethan.} Because of security they have to take Juliet in the rest of the way. She says goodbye to Rachel at the gate and gives her the keys. Worried Juliet asks her if this is a mistake, "What if you get sick again?"
Confident Rachel says, "I won't. Cancer's gone. And I'm a 100 percent preggers." Juliet promises to be back before she gives birth.
Rachel-"Don't worry about us. You spent your whole life working to get here. So don't blow it." They love each other. Rachel tells her sister, "Go make us proud."
They close the gate.

Sayid asks, "Who are you?"
Juliet-"If I told you who I was, if I told you everything that I know, you’d kill me."
Sayid-"What you'd think I'd do if you don't?"
Jack tells him to leave her alone, she'll answer his questions when she's ready, “And you'll wait until she is. She's under my protection."
Sayid is not pleased and Juliet is very pleased!

Charlie is on the beach with his laundry; he hears Aaron crying. Claire is sleeping and the crying isn't waking her. Charlie wakes her. She tells him she's feeling a little 'off.'; she didn't sleep well. Charlie offers to take the baby while she rests some more.
Claire-"I won't sleep long." {Oh Yes you will.}

Sayid is pissed as he's cutting a path through the jungle very quickly. Kate is behind him; Jack and Juliet lag behind.
Juliet asks Jack-"I guess it's no use asking them to wait up, huh?"
Jack tells her to give them time, "They'll come around."
Juliet-"My people kept Sayid chained to a swing set for three days, then I dragged Kate through the jungle, handcuffed myself to her, and lied about it. How much time do you think they need?" {SHE dragged Kate, then handcuffed her! She made it look like something it wasn't! And Jack didn't catch this?! Is he not listening? Or does he already know the truth?}
Jack tells her they'll be back at "our" beach in a couple of hours; they'll probably be over it by then. Jack asks her if she's nervous.
Juliet- "Hell Yeah" and smiles. {Nervous? For what? This isn't the friggin' prom!}
{Flash}
Herarat Aviation.
No one is in the airport except for Richard, Juliet, Ethan and the woman at the counter.
Richard tells Juliet "I know six months sounds like an eternity. You're gonna be amazed at how time flies once you're there."
She can't wait to find out where there is.

No tie Ethan will take Juliet's vitals. Richard lets her know that everyone at the company's excited to have her, as her "research will really have a major impact on us."
He prepares an ORANGE drink for her; he shakes up a packet of tranquilizer, mixes it into the juice. Richard tells Juliet she's gonna want to be asleep for the trip.
Ethan adds, "It can be kind of intense."
Juliet freaks a little. She signed all their papers and agreed to not talk to anyone in her life for six months and is fine with the fact that "no one in the medical field has ever heard of Mittelos Bioscience..."
Richard asks her why she was fine with all those things, "It was quite a leap for a job opportunity. I mean we're not paying you that much."
Richard goes on to say Juliet thinks she's fine with everything because deep down she knows the place they're taking her to is special.
Richard-"You took a woman, your own sister. Whose reproductive system was ravaged by chemotherapy, was sterile, and you made her pregnant. You created life, where life wasn't supposed to be."
He tells her that's a gift and that she's meant to do something significant with it. We're they're going, she can do just that! He can't tell her where they're going, but he can tell her is she'll see things there that she never imagined. No one is forcing her and if she's changed her mind, they could take her back…. With that Juliet downs the entire glass of Orange juice! Ethan tells her she shouldn't have drunk that so fast. She is out!

Juliet is waking up to a red glow. {Red light bulb.} She's strapped down to the bunk.
Ethan-"Good morning. No. no. It's okay. You'll be hoarse for a few hours, but it gets better as the day goes on." He apologizes for strapping her in, "The last leg is always a little bumpy." He tells her to watch her head as she climbs off the bunk: no shoes and she's groggy. She walks past two guys sitting at a small table drinking coffee. Ethan informs her "We're here", and points up.

Juliet climbs up and out. {Her POV- looks like a tube/well.} Ethan walks away. {WATCH OUT! Now she has on her SHOES! One minute no shoes, the next, shoes! EYES.} She stands on the sub and looks around. {That is a beautiful island, indeed! I want to go there so badly!} Benjamin Linus introduces himself to her; they shake hands. He's looking forward to working with her and tells her to watch her step. A guy closes the hatch. {This does not appear to be open water. It looks more lake-like. Why a sub?}

Charlie takes care of Aaron. {Papaya?} Hurley’s making soggy oatmeal.
Sawyer comes over, "Well if it ain't three men and a baby."
They look confused. Sawyer counted Hugo twice! {!!!} Claire's not doing well so she asks for aspirin as her head's pounding.
Sawyer-"I got you covered. Two aspirin, coming right up."
Sawyer, who is eating his bowl of cereal, sees Jack, "Son of a bitch." Then he sees Kate and he is relieved. {He loves her so much.}And then he sees Sayid. Everyone on the beach is hugging them, everyone's happy. Everyone is reunited.
Sawyer sees Juliet standing a few feet away and angrily asks, "What the hell is she doing here?"
Juliet sits alone on the beach looking out to the water. Hurley comes over for a few words. "So. You're like, one of them, huh?"
She says, "I'm Juliet."
Hurley-"I don't remember you from the dock. After you put bags on our heads. After you shocked us." {With darts?} Juliet remarks she had the day off. Hurley hears she's a doctor.

Juliet-"More of a researcher…They send you over here to keep an eye on me?"
Hurley informs her the last one of you guys that came over here, Ethan...He kidnapped Claire and Charlie got upset. We buried him over there." {Juliet's eyes.}
{Flash}

A "Flat line" sound is coming from the machine. Juliet is in the O.R. {Same room Claire was in with Ethan. Goodwin and Ethan are there. Baby incubator.} Ethan tells Juliet “She’s gone. She's dead." {They have Dharma medical station scrubs on.}
Goodwin comforts Juliet "It's okay. You tried." He tells her to go take off and he'll talk to Ben. Juliet leaves.
Juliet in red shirt is sitting on the rocky area looking out over the water. {Ben looking very similar to what he looked like in the scene with Sawyer looking over at the other island in Every man for himself; complete with his bunny bag of tricks.}
Ben says it was Sabine's choice to get pregnant and she knew she was taking a risk. Juliet thinks 'it' happens at conception, "If that's the case, there's nothing I can do about it. At least not here." The only way to see if she's right would be to take a woman off the island, back to Miami.
Ben-"No. You're not taking anybody off the island."
In that case there's nothing more Juliet can do. Her sister will give birth in three months, "it's time for me to go home." {Oh no! Ben has that look in his eye!} Ben tells her, her sister won't be giving birth in three months; she'll be dead before then because her cancer's back. Ben pulls out a file from his bag of tricks and shows Juliet Rachel's records. {Yes, we can see the electrocardiograph records show, male, 5' 11", 187 lbs, etc. Is he that skilled in the ways of the Jedi, that he can make people believe they're seeing something different on paper, than what's really there? That's fucking Yoda skill!}
Juliet sways on her feet a little. Ben got the file from Mikhail. Juliet is upset, "I could have gone home. I could have been with her!" He tells her she still can, "You can go home, Juliet. Be with her in her final days. Or you can stay here and help me with our problem." If she stays he says "I will cure your sister's cancer."
Juliet wonders, "I'm supposed to take that on faith?"
Ben explains she's been here six months, "You've done extensive workups on all of us. Have you seen even a trace of cancer?"
Juliet-"That's here! And being that you won't let me bring my sister here I'm going to..." Ben cuts her off telling her Jacob said he'd take care of it himself, "Unless of course, you don't have faith in him. Every woman on this island needs you. If you choose to stay, I promise you, we will save Rachel's life."

It is night on the beach/kitchen. Sun questions the motives of trusting Juliet. "She's one of them."
Jack-"Not anymore. They left her behind."
Jack doesn't know where her people went and Juliet doesn't know either.
Sawyer interjects, "Here's an idea. Let's sic our resident Iraqi on her, let him do what he does, then see what she says." {Sic, like a dog} Sayid says no, he doesn't do that anymore. Sawyer states, "Well ain't that convenient?" {That's what I always say!} Sayid doesn't trust her. If she's so innocent, why won't she answer their questions? Jack tells them to give her time, she's afraid. {Bullshit!}
Sayid-"How much time?" {Sound familiar?} Jack says the fact that he trusts her should be enough.
Sayid-"It's not."
Desmond- "Where did Locke go?"
Claire joins the group looking awful. Jacks tells them Locke went with them; right after he destroyed the sub that was gonna take him off this island. Hurley's surprised and shocked to hear that, "What?!"
Sawyer- "They were gonna let you go?"
Jack says yeah.
Sawyer-"Said who?"
Says Ben; whose life Jack saved.
Sawyer-"You should have let that bug eyed bastard die!"
Kate tells him Jack did it for "Us."
Sawyer says it sounds like he did it for him. Kate calls him James in front of everyone. {And NO ONE says anything about her calling him something other than what they know him as! OR do they all know his name is James?!}
Sawyer asks Jack, "Why he's fighting every single one of us and sticking up for one of them?" Jack shares he spent every moment over there trying to find a way off this island, he was trying to help "All of us."
All of a sudden Claire has blood coming from her nose/mouth; she faints! Jack tells Charlie to get her head back and get her up! He asks Charlie how long she's been like this. Charlie tells him since this morning.
Jack-"Before we got back, was she showing any symptoms at all?…Has she been drinking enough water?"
He instructs Charlie to keep her head up. Here comes Juliet! She stands next to Sun and Jin and asks "What happened to her?"
Jin says something in Korean and Juliet asks what he said.
Sun-"He said, what do you care?"  {D'OH! Did Jin understand her question?!}
Juliet runs up to Kate and tells her she needs her help; she needs her to get Jack.
Juliet-"I think I know what's wrong with Claire."
Kate-"Why?"
Juliet is getting emotional, "Because I did it to her."

Kate gets Jack and they talk to Juliet.
Sawyer and Sayid watch them from afar. Sawyer asks Sayid, “That giving you a bad feeling in your stomach?"
Sayid nods yes; Sawyer too.

Juliet informs Jack Claire's immune system is turning on her; she's have a laten reaction to a medication in her blood stream. The medication was designed to keep her alive during the late stages of her pregnancy.
Jack- "Designed by who?"
Designed by Juliet. She explains that for some reason women here can't have babies. The mother's body turns on the pregnancy, treats it as a foreign invader. She saw it happen over and over; every pregnant woman on this island died... Until Claire. {Kate and Sun look at each other} Jack asks what did she do to her. Juliet reveals that one of our people infiltrated your camp and they began taking blood samples right after your plane crashed. {They were able to take blood samples without anyone waking up! That's gotta prove something!} {Flashes of Ethan wearing a hooded sweatshirt, covering Claire's mouth, needle, injection, Shhhh!}
Kate-"Ethan." {Could Kate have seen any of that?}
Juliet goes on that "even though Claire didn't conceive on this island, her symptoms were consistent with previous mothers, so we tried to save her life. {That's an interesting statement.}
Jack-"By kidnapping her?"
Juliet-"No. That wasn't supposed to happen. She was our control case. I had developed a serum that, I thought would reverse what was happening to her. Ethan was administering the injections." {Flash of Hurley running through the jungle with the manifest. "The census. I interviewed everyone. One of them isn't in the manifest. He wasn't on the plane."}

Juliet reveals they realized the Lostie's found out he wasn't on the plane. {Does Juliet have the power of post hypnotic suggestion? Can she talk them into things, just like Ben can?} Juliet tells them, Ethan improvised. {Flash of Charlie and Claire in the jungle and Ethan greets them. Claire looks very sick! Injection bottles, needles, Ethan in OR/Treatment room with Claire, meds refrigerator, the funny shaped log that Claire sat on with Ethan, the Oceanic baby mobile.} Juliet says he kidnapped her on his own, that was never part of the plan. Without those injections Claire would have died. Without the serum, she's going into a form of withdrawal. {Their eye color!} And if she doesn't treat her quickly, her immune system could shut down entirely. She tells Jack, "I can fix this. I just need the serum. Ethan kept a stash of medical supplies near the caves where you used to live. {How would she know that!!! Oh yeah. She knows everything! Cameras.} If I go right now, I can be back before it's too late."
Jack tells her to do it.  {Note that we know CHarlie gave Claire and the baby the pneumatic injector and serum from the latest pallet drop.}
{Flash}
Naked Juliet is eating in bed; but she's in a daze. {There's opera on the radio.}
Goodwin- "Where are you?" He is hanging out with her in the bed. He asks "… Where were you?"
She tells him she "was just realizing that tomorrow she will have been on this island for three years." Goodwin had better bake a cake. {Celebration} There's a knock at the door. X-Rays are delivered to Juliet. {R circles/2 spheres inside} Juliet is troubled looking at them. Goodwin joins her. {Eyes} Juliet informs him, "Karl developed some X-rays for me."
Goodwin-"What’s wrong?"

Juliet walks across the yards of the barracks while people are going about their activities. She is holding a yellow/manila envelope in her right hand. She knocks on the door 2x. Ben, who was at his desk reading, answers the door. {Red cup, Bugs, Love the dragon thingy on top of the bookcase! Clock shows 12:35ish. He has on his Harry Potter glasses.}
Ben was just finishing 'Carrie'; he doesn't understand why she picked it, it's depressing. {The clock shows 9:30ish.}
Juliet comes right out and tells him he has a tumor. When he told her about his back pain, she said she would take some X-rays to see if it was a small fracture or herniated disc. But that's not his problem. {Does he not remember taking X-rays? hehehe} His problem is a large tumor surrounding your L-4 vertebra. Ben checks out the x-ray and seems surprised.
Ben-“You've just told me that I have cancer. Of course I'm surprised."
Juliet-"No. I told you had a tumor."
She accuses him of being scared. Juliet says Ben told her no one on this island ever had cancer, "You told me that! You told me you could fix it! You said that! You told me you cured my sister! You lied to me!"
Ben gets defensive "No. I did not lie to you"
Juliet-"If you can cure cancer Ben, then why do you have it?"
He doesn't know.
Juliet smacks the glass of water out of his hand and demands to talk to her sister. He tells her that's not gonna happen, but promises her Rachel is fine. Juliet yells, "You never cured her! You're a liar! You lied to me!"
Juliet literally has backed him up against the counter/wall. Ben insists he told her the truth. Juliet cries on his shoulder, she wants to go home. She begs him. He's says "No."
Juliet has a meltdown and cries.


Juliet, alone makes her way to a huge tree w/no leaves that has an egg shaped logo on it. {Not the hydra logo we know.}  She gets the black case from under the leaves across from the tree.
She opens the combination pad lock.
Sayid tells her to step away from the case! She was followed by Sawyer and Sayid. Juliet tells them the case is full of medical supplies and that Jack knows all about it.
Sawyer-"Jack ain't here right now. Is he?"
Sawyer opens the case, it does have needles, meds, etc.

Sayid-"You told me earlier that if you told me everything you knew, I'd kill you. I'm here to test the validity of that statement." The boys want her to talk.  They have cleared their schedules so they have all the time in the world.
Juliet goes into manipulation mode {Or is it hypnotic suggestion mode? Eyes.} "You know it's interesting. That you two are now the camp's moral police. I'm curious, Sayid. How long was it till you told everyone on that beach exactly how many people you've tortured in your life? Do they know about Basra? {He sways a little, sure looks hypnotized. He doesn't say anything.}
She turns to Sawyer, "I'm sure the first thing you did when you got here, James, was to gather everyone in a circle and tell them about the man you shot in cold blood the night before you got on the plane. So why don't we just skip the part where you two pretend to be righteous. I'm taking that medication back to Claire and you're gonna let me. Because if she doesn't get it. She's gonna die. And the last thing that either of you need right now is more blood on your hands." She takes the case from a 'blank' Sawyer. {The guys never say anything! Never ask her how she knows that shit! They don't flinch! Why didn't Sayid just kill her?}

The CD player opens and an unmarked/unlabled CD is put in. It plays the song 'Downtown.'   Juliet looks in the mirror. We remember this as the day Oceanic flight 815 arrived on the Island and there is a book club meeting, etc. Everything starts to shake. The book club members head outside. Once outside Juliet seems to be looking around. Ben comes out of his barrack home. We relive Ben giving Ethan and Goodwin 'direction' on what to do with the crash/survivors. {To me it seems like he's giving direction for a scene; scripted. Maybe because I've taken direction from directors and that's pretty much how it is.} After Ben's comment about being out of the book club, Juliet walks away from him. {Eyes} Ben calls her back, "You and I need to talk."
Juliet- "Now?"
Ben- "We have some time. It's important. Take a walk with me."
Ben radios Mikhail- "We're here. He never has his walkie on!" There's something he needs to show her.
Mikhail asks Ben, "Did you see it?"
Ben-"A plane fell out of the sky Mikhail, of course we saw it."
Mikhail shows Ben news footage on monitors telling about the disappearance of Oceanic flight 815. Mikhail speaks specifics. Ben wants detailed files on every single passenger. Mikhail's already working on it. Juliet is still holding/showing her Stephen King book.

Ben asks him to upload to Richard in Acadia Park.  Ben was hurt when Juliet called him a liar yesterday.  He puts on his directors headset and cues Richard. There is a newspaper with today's date, Wednesday, 9/22/04. 
He says, "This is live."
We then see Rachel, appearing healthy playing with a little boy; she's pushing him on a swing. Juliet is cries. Ben tells her a little over two years ago, to everyone's surprise; Rachel's cancer went into complete remission. Shortly after she gave birth to a healthy baby boy; his name is Julian.
Ben says thanks to Richard, "You'll want to get back here as soon as you can. We may have some new visitors."
Juliet is very emotional; she wants to go home. Ben tells her their agreement was for her to stay until her work is finished. Juliet feels it's impossible "The mothers keep dying."
Ben-"Then we'll find more mothers. Who knows? Maybe there's even one on that plane?"

Jack is caring for Claire. Juliet comes to save the day with her case.  Charlie's upset with Jack trusting Juliet. Jack trusts her so he wants Charlie to trust him. Charlie says he trusts him. Juliet gives Claire the injection and tells them they should see results in a few hours.
Jack tells her "If this doesn't work, if something happens to her…I'm not gonna be able to protect you anymore. You'll be on your own"
She’s already on her own.

Charlie and Claire are sleeping; they wake up. Claire asks what happened. Charlie just smiles.

Juliet sits on the beach, alone. Jack brings her a tarp, blankets, pillows; it's enough stuff to get her started. He tells her Claire's awake. She smiles. Everyone says it's okay if she sets up camp.
Jack- "They're good people. They're willing to give you the benefit of the doubt." {I need to talk to them about that!} He also says eventually they're gonna need some answers. She asks him why she never has to explain herself to him.
Jack- "You were there; you were standing right next to me when that submarine exploded. In that moment I saw it in your eyes. You want to get off this island more than anything else in the world. That makes you one of us."
Juliet puts up her tarp. She ties the knot it just like we've seen Sun. {and Danielle do the same.}

We see Ben talking to Juliet, "Let's go over it again."   Juliet knows what to do but he wants to go over it again, just to be sure.
Juliet- "I drag Austen out into the jungle, handcuff myself to her. Then tell her I was gassed. Just like she was."
Ben- "And if she catches you in the lie?"
Juliet will admit to it, "Tell her it was the only way to earn her trust." Then they'll take Juliet back to the beach.
Juliet-"I know you want me to go there. But after everything that we've done to them, it's going to be a problem. Ben says they've activated the implant in Claire; she should be symptomatic within the next 48 hours. {We see Flash of Juliet tie her knot. Jin, Desmond on the beach.} By the time she gets to the camp she'll have a nice big crisis to solve.  Ben informs her Price is already on his way to hide her supplies at Ethan's old drop point, "Tell Jack that you can save her. He trusts you."
Juliet seems zoned out. Ben asks if she's alright. Juliet is fine. He then presents her with a gas mask and {Coffee cup} says "See you in a week." Juliet takes the mask.

Juliet ties her tarp at the beach camp.




One of Us is a Great Episode! We have much to talk about.  But keep in mind, your gonna wanna be asleep for the trip because it can be kind of intense! It's OK because the place they take us to is special.

Was the "Island" not supposed to have life on it?  Or are we talking about creating life "somewhere" else that isn't supposed to be able to make life?


Things to Note…Questions to ask…
* EYE COLOR CHANGES! All of them, even Ben.
* Anagram for TARP is TRAP!
* Anagram for Herarat Avaiation: A Variation Earth or A Variation Heart.
* I've asked this before…Who is Juliet?  Really. How old is she? How about Ethan? He must be around for a really long time. Maybe all the scientists/doctors/researchers of the "Island" have been around a really long time. That would include Arzt.
* The hidden away Airport, Herarat Aviation.   The customer "line" ques look like a descending Whale Tail.
* Guarding a gate. Security. Surveillance. Protection.
* "A little over two years ago Rachel's cancer went into complete remission. Shortly after she gave birth to a healthy baby boy."   Juliet tells Jack she's been there for over three years. It's supposed to be 9/22/04. We were led to believe Rachel got preggers before Juliet left Miami!
* Ben knows everything. Is it possible that Ben plans everything or just knows the plan for everything?
* Could Juliet be responsible for blowing anything up
* Are they all just 'case' studies? Control cases?
* Time flies when you're on the "Island".  Or does it really go slower?  I'm sure time doesn't even matter.
* Sleep. Tranquilizer. Clonazepam is a sedative. Depressing. Hypnosis. Implant.
* That submarine. Is that the "official" transport to the  "Island"?  Prop?  By the way, they supposedly left from an airport, so at what point did they transport unconscious Juliet to a sub?
* Tube…. Could that be a tube, as in "travel?" Or Tube Tracking? Is that how everyone is being tracked?
* Karl developed the x-rays. {Interesting}
* There seems to always be a beach reunion!
* Bug. Bug eyed. {Invertebrates? Is that reaching too far, even for me? hehehe}

* Plane crash day 9/22/04. I can't help but keep in mind that there is Oceanic plane wreckage already inside the cave. Let's not forget that!
* Coffee. We need to add tea to that list! In the Himalayas, there is Hindu religion, culture. They grow tea. Say Namaste, etc..
* 3- PAST. PRESENT. FUTURE. Birth, Life, Death.
* How does Juliet know details about Sawyer and Sayid? Not only about their lives but details about the day/night before their arrival there? How would she know Sawyer killed someone? Is it because these events happened already? And/or they are scripted/written scenarios for the tests/quests/roles each person is to experience?   So that leads me to this question again…Are events in the Flashes or the "Island" real? Nope!   Drugged up, yes.. In addition could we be witnessing some sort of post hypnotic suggestion technique going on?  Are they using a song, prop, word, phrase or even a picture, something meant to trigger a manipulated memory/memory?   Hypnosis to go along with the hallucinations.  It could be. This is some friggin game!
* I think by now it's pretty obvious we see at least two versions of things. Shoes off, shoes on, etc. Different times on the clock in Ben's house. There's a lot more to add to the list of differences. WAIT! It doesn't end there!.....Ben's tumor is at his L-4 vertebra.  That's lumbar vertebra. Yet when Jack's in the hydra being held in the glass cell, he asks Ben about his neck. Those would be Cervical vertebra! C3-C6. Is there really a tumor at all? Spine, Spinal surgeon, vertebra…
* Walk, walkie, "walking" stick…Guess what? Human walking is accomplished with a strategy called the double pendulum. Walking is the main form of animal locomotion on land.
* A walking stick is a bug. Aaahhh! OH DAMN IT!
* Clues to Head- Could the reference to head be about "Head Hunters"?  What about an injury to the head?  Manipulating what's going on in the head?   Just plain ol messing with their head?   Things are taking place in their HEADS.
* "...let me off the island".  So it seems as if Jack and the gang are not allowed to leave freely; they have to be on the "island".

* What if we have a few "Islands" here?  Okay, maybe "Islands", maybe hidden facilities, or even off shore facilities/freighters.  Nonetheless, these would be the equivalent of layers or levels in the story/game.



Vocabulary and Research...
* One of Us is a novel. By Michael Marshal Smith. The plot centers on a small time ne'er-do-well, ex barman who has found a lucrative line as a REM temp taking care of people's unwanted dreams and memories. However when he finds himself burdened with a memory of a murder he is forced to find the real culprit and face up to his own past mistakes.
* Them! a sci-fi film about giant ants.
* THEM(Marvel universe), a fictional terrorist organization. Also, a gang of villains from the Wonder Woman comic.
* THEM: Adventures with Extremists is a book by Ronson. The book accompanied Ronson's documentary series Secret Rulers of the World.
* A sedative is a substance that depresses the central nervous system, resulting in calmness, relaxation, reduction of anxiety, sleepiness, and slowed breathing, as well as slurred speech, staggering gait, poor judgment, and slow, uncertain reflexes. Sedatives may be referred to as tranquilizers, depressants, anxiolytics, soporifics, sleeping pills, downers, or sedative-hypnotics. Sedatives can be abused to produce an overly-calming effect. At high doses or when they are abused, many of these drugs can cause unconsciousness(hypnotic) and even death.
* The Lawson L-4 was a 1920s American un flown biplane airliner, designed and built by the Lawson Air Line Company of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 1924 the Company had a need for an airliner to use on the night service between Chicago and New York. The L-4 was a 3-engined biplane airliner which was fitted with sleeping berths, lavatory and unusually a shower unit.

* Acadia National Park preserves much of Mount Desert Island, and associated smaller islands, off the Atlantic coast of Maine. Or are there ties to Canada and French?

A beautiful surreal "Island".  Tranquilizers, strapping people in Santa Rosa…If I didn't know that my research revealed some pretty important "Big Game" shit, this would all look like one big giant supervised drug trip or mass hallucination by a bunch of mental ward patients and convicts!  But no matter what, this is a very important journey.

For fun I imagine there's an old box somewhere, and in it are photographs and documents of the "Island" residents through the years…Maybe even through the centuries. Good times!
