The Envelope. Missing Pieces 12

Let's talk about LOST! Missing Pieces 12: The Envelope.

{A smoke detector or timer is beeping on the oven.  Juliet runs to the oven, grabs her blue oven mitt and takes out her burned muffins.   She burns her left hand and drops the tray; muffins rolling everywhere. The doorbell rings. She runs her hand underwater.   It's the lady from A Tale of Two Cities; Amelia.

JULIET- "I'm fine. I'm really fine. {Amelia/TOTC gets her ice from the freezer.} I just, I need to clean up before everyone gets here. Thank you."

AMELIA- "It's him, isn't it?"

JULIET- "What? Who?"

AMELIA- "Ben.  Did you invite him today?"

JULIET- "Things have gotten awkward."

AMELIA- "Finally told you how he felt, huh?"

JULIET- "He didn't, he didn't say anything. It's just complicated. Okay?"

AMELIA- "Complicated doesn't make you cry."

JULIET- "I burned my hand."

AMELIA -"That doesn't make you cry either. What happened Julie?"

JULIET- "I think, I think we're in big trouble."

AMELIA- "Are we?"

JULIET- "I need t.., {she's getting choked up} If I show you something, do you promise not to tell anyone? Do you swear? Not anyone."  {Amelia nods her head, "yes".  Juliet goes to a drawer and pulls out a large manila envelope from under the silverware tray. She starts to open it, and the doorbell rings.}

GREAT MOBISODE.

This one raises a lot of questions, not answers.  The reason I say that is because I believe this may be part of a deleted scene.  This is very familiar.  If that's the case, why would Damon and Carlton just toss a deleted scene our way?  If it is just that, then we already know that may be the envelope Juliet carries Ben's x-rays in.  That would answer that question already.  But why would we be given a few minutes on something that we may already know the answer to?
Maybe we needed the clues to ICE and the FREEZER here.   Plus we're getting a bit about how Ben feels about Juliet.
Let's not forget that in the world of LOST things can't be that easy.
Let's put that info aside, for now and dig deeper.

There is NO DOUBT this "Island" is the "Island" of secret keepers.  How can anything get done or accomplished on this "Island" with everyone keeping secrets, telling lies and manipulating everyone and everything.

The Envelope...what is in it? My first thought is Ben's x-ray's or medical records. If it's not, then what? Schematics to something? A treasure map or coupons for a sale on shoes at the Dharma mall? Maybe the envelope's filled with dirty secrets. Whatever is in the envelope Juliet/Julie finds very big and important not only to her but to the other woman as well. Could this info effect the rest of their community? Why would the information that's in that envelope cause them to be in big trouble?

Is it possible that Juliet/Julie going to reveal to this woman that someone on the "Island" got sick? If the residents of the "Island" thought they could never get sick and now someone is, what kind of chaos would that cause?
If this is in proper continuity of A Tale of Two Cities, Juliet wouldn't or should I say shouldn't know about the arrival of 815.  Maybe she does know of it's "arrival" and who's on it?   If so, maybe she knows there's a pregnant woman or a spinal surgeon on board.
Could this envelope contain info about their fertility/DNA studies?  Maybe Julie/Juliet is pregnant.

Questions, Questions and MORE Questions!
Juliet/Julie's relationship with Ben: What kind of relationship? We know at one point Juliet was sleeping with Goodwin.  Maybe Ben had Goodwin removed from the playing field because he wants Juliet? LOL!!! Boys will be boys.

This woman calls her Julie! Is this Juliet or Julie? Why would the writers give us two minutes of dialog and be sure to call Juliet, Julie, unless we needed to hear that?  With that said, why a different name? Here we go again…Is this person we see a twin, a different identity, a different time on the "Island"? A different "Island"?   Or maybe she's a friggin bot/robot.  But an awesome one like the T-1000 in terminator. That robot can morph because it's made of liquid metal. Weeeeee!
OK, I just re-watched the Terminator movies. Hehehe.

Back to the matter at hand: Why a different version?
Note: Underwater and silver.
Amelia- 'Ear-hardt'?... "Hear"
Books/Club.

Vocabulary and Research...
* The manila envelope is designed to contain documents and paperwork.  The manila component of the name comes from manila hemp or abaca, from which manila folders were originally made. This is the origin of the name. Manila hemp is a type of fiber that comes from a relative of the banana plant. Commonly used for ropes, paper products, and coarse fabrics. Manila hemp is indigenous to the Philippines and gets its name from the country's capital.
- an envelope is the limits within which an aircraft or electronic system can operate safely.
- something that envelops; a wrapper, integument, or surrounding cover.
* in Radio(of a modulated carrier wave):  a curve connecting the peaks of a graph of the instantaneous value of the electric or magnetic component of the carrier wave as a function of time.
* in Geometry: a curve or surface tangent to each member of a set of curves or surfaces.
* in Biology: an enclosing structure or cover, such as a membrane or the outer coat of a virus.
* in Electronics: the airtight glass or metal housing of a vacuum tube.
- The fabric structure enclosing the gasbag of an aerostat. Free Balloons, Airships, Moored Balloons. The gasbag itself.
- A building envelope is the separation between the interior and the exterior environments of a building. It serves as the outer shell to protect the indoor environment as well as to facilitate its climate control.
*The two envelopes problem is a puzzle or paradox within the subjectivistic interpretation of probability theory.
* The pincer movement or double envelopment is a basic element of military strategy which has been used, to some extent, in nearly every war.

What is being protected/kept secret in an envelope? Is it just a metaphor?
No matter what, pay attention to smoke detectors.

Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right. The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either! You all know I hate spoilers and I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Understood? Good! Let the fun begin! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance! It will get very exciting as we progress into the story.

THE DEAL. MISSING PIECES 4.

Let's talk about LOST!   Missing Pieces  4: The Deal.

{Michael is sitting tied up in a at the decoy village. Juliet enters. Michael looks troubled through their whole conversation.   Juliet has no shoes on.  There is a box/crate to Michael's right with a lantern on it.}
Michael appears to be sleeping.

Juliet- "Hello Michael. I'm Juliet."
Michael- "What do you want?"
Juliet- "The boat you asked for... they wanted me to tell you it's yours."
Michael- "Good."
Juliet- "Beatrice told me you saw your son. I spent some time with him, with Walt. He's a very interesting kid. He's uh... he's very smart. He's very special."
Michael- "What do you mean 'special'?"
Juliet- "He's not an ordinary boy, which is why I'm worried about him. So I'm very glad that you agreed to do this for us. I'm glad that you're going to get him away from here."
Michael- "You expect me to believe that you give a damn about my son?"
Juliet- "Believe it or not, Michael, I am not your enemy."
Michael- "Oh you're not, huh?"
Juliet- "No I'm not. The man in your camp, the one you're going to free, his name is Ben. He's very important."
Michael- "Is he the one that can get me off this island?"
Juliet- "Yes."
Michael- "Will he?"
Juliet- "Yes, he will."
Michael- "I guess I'm just supposed to take your word for that, huh?"
Juliet- "I guess you are."
Juliet- "I made a deal with him, too."
Michael- "Then why are you still here?"
Juliet- "Because he saved my sister's life."
Michael- "And where is she?"
Juliet- "Miami."
Michael- "But you had to stay. What's the point in saving her life if you can't be with her?"
Juliet- "Wouldn't you do anything to save Walt? You have your list. {she gets up to leave} Good luck."

{Juliet leaves. Michael looks around and slams his feet in frustration.}

GREAT MOBISODE!
Deals are  being made all over the damn place!  But the "Deal" only seems to ever favor Ben or the "Island".   Why does it seem there really is no escape for these "people" regardless of the "deal" that is made?

Things to Note...Questions to Ask:
* Juliet says "good luck" NOT Namaste, as we've heard from a few people before.   Dharma says Namaste.
* Deal. I'm not going to put you through those definitions of the word again. Head back to Mobisode 3 notes for that.
* The boat again; The fishing boat! You mean the boat that is not meant for open water! Is it this little shitty fishing boat that's so important? REALLY?!
* Kate has ties to Miami.  Juliet's sister Rachel is in Miami.  What is the tie to Miami? We know that Ethan and Richard traveled there.
* Stated above, Michael's List, Michael's Boat.
* I've said it before and I'll say it again, Michael and his association with "the Island" or what goes on there is NOT new to him!  I've felt going all the way back to season 1. Why is he being held by this group of people?  Could it be these are not the people Michael has "dealings" with? Or he simply doesn't remember all of them.
* Michael has used the words Hut and Tepee to describe the decoy villages dwellings to the Losties. Hut and/or tepee are terms that describe dwellings of primitive houses made by old or even ancient cultures, I.E. Indians or even nomads.
* Walt is special, not ordinary. How? Is he genetically special? Mentally special? Can the kid tie a damn cherry stem in a knot while it's in his mouth? Hmmm???!!!!
* Is Walt a threat to the "Island" or someone/something on it?
* We learned that supposedly Ben is not the one entirely able to let them off the "Island". Yet Juliet tells Michael that he is the one who can get him off the  "Island". What is the truth? What is a lie?
* How is Ben important?
* Beatrice.

I am really LOVING these Mobisodes!
