The ODI Lostcast "Traverse" the LOST world and Star Wars.

Hi Losties,

Thank you all for being so patient for the podcast this week. With the show on break we were able to work all of our schedules out to have our good friend
DarkUFO join us to chat about Some Like it Hoth. Also joining us is Darkufo's LOST recapper Vozzzek69. YAY!

All four of us are big
Star Wars geeks, so we had a great time chatting about this episode in particular.

We cover all of the key scenes, with Hurley and Miles' interaction, learning about Miles' ability, Pierre Chang being Miles' dad, and so much more!!

The podcast was a BLAST!
Keep in mind the four of us are in four different parts of the world with three different time zones, and we're not in the same room. Basically we were
on the same "plane" but we weren't together. lol!

The podcast is available on iTunes, but if you can not access it there below is an audio player with a download link.

Hope you all enjoy!!

Love to all who are "LOST"™
~Karen~

Adrift.

Let's talk about LOST! Adrift.

(Click the Pics!)

Underwater:
Sawyer pops up from the water to the sounds of Walt screaming out for “Dad”.
Michael crying out in desperation for Waaaaaalt!!
The Others took Walt. Whatever is left of the raft is on fire.  Sawyer calls out for Mike while Michael cries out for Walt. {You can hear Jin say “Sawyer”}
Sawyer yells out for Jin, but Jin doesn’t reply. {Listen to the sounds and voices in the background.}
Sawyer makes his way to a piece of floating wreckage/junk in an attempt to get to Mike.“Hang on Mike!”
Michael just repeats “Walt” over and over.
Michael appears to black out and go underwater. Sawyer pulls Michael up onto a piece of raft.   Mike is unconscious and seems to not be breathing and Sawyer tries to revive him by frantically pounding on his chest, “Mike! Mike! Mike!”
On Sawyer’s third strike to Mike’s chest...

The bright light goes off in the hatch.
Locke is still holding the “rope” {cable-vine} that was lowering Kate into the hatch.   He yells down there for her.  Locke ties up this cable-vine to a tree and goes in after Kate.

Sawyer continues CPR on Mike and saves Michael!
Right away Mike asks “Where’s Walt?”
Sawyer doesn’t know.
{Flash Whoosh}
“How'd you hurt your leg?”   asks the attorney .
Michael, who is fidgeting with his walking stick/cane tells the lawyer he got hit by a car. {World Trade Center/Twin Towers is seen outside the window.}
The lawyer chats about the paperwork Michael’s ex-wife sent over.
Michael corrects him, “She's not my ex-wife, man. She's just...Walt's mother. She, uh, Susan, she just got a new job in Romethe boyfriend... they want to take Walt with them.”
The lawyer tells him not to worry, “I'm going to take very good care of you, Mr. Dawn.”
Michael corrects him, “Dawson."
The lawyer is looking over the papers, “This boyfriend...this is this guy, Brian Porter?”
Michael wonders what it says.

The Lawyer-“It seems that Susan wants you to relinquish your rights as Walt's father so that Mr. Porter can adopt him. “
Michael’s upset that Susan wants him to sign his son away.

The lawyer-“It's the only way they can proceed with the adoption, yeah. Listen, if you sign this document...legally, he'll be no different than any other kid you pass on the street. You'll be giving up your paternal rights...All of them.”
Michael wonders if he can stop her from going. The lawyer mentions they could file and injunction so she couldn’t leave the city. Michael wants to do that.
The lawyer- “Right. Um, Mr. Dawson, the fact that you came in through these doors that tells me something. It tells me that I'm the best that you can afford. If we go forward with this, it's going to take money. A lot of it...even at my rates. This is David and Goliath, so I've got to ask you...are you sure you want to do this?"
Michael-“They're not taking my son away.“  {Uh, well they just did!}
{Flash Whoosh}

“Waaaaaalt!”
Michael continues calling out for his son. Concerned Sawyer suggests Mike save his energy.
Sawyer saw that they took Walt onto a boat which means he's not in shouting distance.“
Michael-“You don't know that.“
{Huh?! Do you see the friggin boat?!}
 Sawyer-“Well, I got a pretty good sense. And even if he was, there's nothing you can do."

Michael is freaked out and determined, “Look, if he can hear me, he knows that I'm alive, that I'm coming for him, that I'm Going To Get Him Back. Right now, all I've got is that maybe my son can hear me. Does that make any sense to you?”
Mike goes on crying out for Waaaaalt!

Locke arrives down inside the hatch; whispering loudly for Kate.
Locke steps in a puddle of muddy water. {Mirror in the corner.} {There is the sound of a loud hum and machine-winding down; that sound is repeated.}
Locke takes off his shoes before entering the area. {Why would he do this? It's not so he can sneak around-shoe-less!}
Locke touches the Dharma Swan Logo on a fuse box. Locke’s shadow is cast as he makes his way into the living area. {Art/graffiti on the walls, Lava lamp, Ping Pong table.}
He creeps his way around. He opens the blinds and reveals fake sunlight.
He hears Kate moaning. {Keep those thoughts clean, guys! Lol}

Kate's on the floor of the computer room; she was knocked out. As she’s waking up she warms Locke of a man behind him.
That man holds a rifle on Locke and asks, "Are you him? Are you him?"

Sawyer’s on the raft calling out for Jin.
Michael- “I thought we had to save our energy?”
They do, but Jin's still out there in the water, so if it's okay by Mike, Sawyer’s going to keep shouting for him. He continues calling out for Jin!”
Annoyed Michael asks Sawyer if he’s feeling guilty for making him fire the flare.
Sawyer-“I made you fire...What, this is my fault?”
Michael-“They took my son. They found us took Walt, because you made me fire the flare!” Sawyer feels at least Walt is on a boat, probably wrapped in a blanket with a cup of cocoa, while they’re on this piece of...Michael demands Sawyer get off of his raft.  Something hits the bottom of the raft and they wonder what it is.   There is something under there. We see an above shot of the water with a shark swimming by.
Floating on what's left of the raft, Michael remarks that Sawyer was able to hold on to his best friend {a gun}.
Michael-"...thing aint gonna work, anyway. You were underwater.”
Sawyer wonders what Hoss knows about guns anyway, “It’ll work.”
Sawyer removes the clip and pops out the bullets. He feels if the bullets are dry, the powders dry. The raft is bumped into hard by their underwater visitor causing Sawyer to drop the bullets. They realize it’s only a shark.   Mike feels the shark is hanging around because of Sawyer’s bleeding shoulder.
Sawyer-“Oh, well, I'll just stop bleeding then. Did you suddenly forget what happened? Why I got shot?”
Michael- “What?”
Sawyer-“Hey, how about a little gratitude here? I'm mean, a thank you."
Michael-“Thank you? For what? For you trying to save your own ass?"
Sawyer-“You want me off this raft? You got it.”
Sawyer pulls/paddles with his one arm to get to another piece of raft.
Sawyer tells Mike, “I was trying to save your damn kid.”
{Flash Whoosh}
“Let's talk about Walt, shall we, Mr. Dawson?” asks Susan’s lawyer, Lizzy.
Lizzy-”When was the last time you actually saw your son?”
Michael-“Um, about a year ago."
Lizzy corrects him, “It was 14 months, actually. “
She wonders, “Why so long?”
Michael-“Susan took him to Amsterdam… for work. “ {History lesson, New York City was originally called New Amsterdam.}
Lizzy-“And you didn't have a problem with that?”
Michael-“Excuse me?”
Lizzy-“Well, since she's now going to Rome and you're filing an injunction. It just seems a little inconsistent to me.“
Michael-“Incon… no. No, no, no, no. ..She took him…I didn’t want her to go.”
Mike’s lawyer informs him that she’s baiting him.  Michael says to Susan, “You said there was nothing I could do.”
Susan looks uncomfortable.
Lizzy-“And you didn't do anything, did you?”
Lizzy feels there is no answer to that question. “You were in an accident recently, no?”
Michael-“Yeah."
Lizzy-“You had several surgeries. Spent weeks in a private hospital room. Extensive rehabilitation. Who paid for all of that, Mr. Dawson?”
Michael is getting worked up and says to Susan, ”I didn't ask you for anything.”
Lizzy wants the court reporter to have the record reflect that Mr. Dawson acknowledged that Ms. Lloyd paid his bills."
Michael’s upset,”Susan! Tell them. Susan, tell them that I didn't ask you for anything.“    Apparently Michael is not to address Susan directly.
Lizzy asks Michael-“Do you know what Walt's first words were, Mr. Dawson?"
Michael-“I'm sorry, what?"
Lizzy-“His first words, do you know what they were?"
Michael-“I...no, I...I wasn't there."
Lizzy-“Do you know what his favorite food is? {Michael rolls his eyes but doesn’t say anything} Do you..."
Michael-“No.”
Michael’s lawyer feels this is unnecessary but Michael finally replies ‘no’ to her question.
Lizzy- “Well, for someone who wants to retain his paternal rights so badly you don't seem to know much about your son, Mr. Dawson.”
Michael-“I'm his father.”
Lizzy-“I'm sorry, could you say that louder please, just for the record.”
Michael repeats, “I'm his father.“ {Note there’s a man videotaping this meeting.}
{Flash Whoosh}
The full moon shines down on Michael and Sawyer, each on their pieces of raft wreckage. Sawyer is digging around his bullet wound. {It’s a good thing these two raft pieces don’t drift away from each other. Lol}
Michael asks Sawyer if he’s crazy,” You're going to take a bullet out with your bare hands.”  He feels Sawyer will never be able to do it by himself, besides Sawyer thought they parted ways.
Michael-“We're caught in the same current.“
Sawyer is in pain and gathers nerve to dig at the wound.  He screams as he pulls the bullet out. Sawyer asks Mike if he’s got a Band-aid and then Sawyer passes out.

Are you... are you him?” Desmond asks Locke.
Locke stands up and states, “Yes. Yes I am. {His first response is to say yes!}  Desmond is relieved, “I can't believe it. You're finally here."
Locke smiles and says,”Well, here I am.”
Desmond asks who she is.
Locke helps Kate up and informs Desmond, “She's with me.”
Cautious Desmond asks him, “What did one snowman say to the other snowman?”
Locke doesn’t know what he’s talking about.  Realizing Locke is ‘not him’, he demands Locke get rid of the knife.   Locke tosses the knife and tries to explain to Desmond that they’re not there to hurt him. Desmond wonders why they came. Kate reveals they were in a plane crash.
Desmond-“Were you now? And when was that?
Locke-“44 days ago.”
Desmond-“44 days? Move.”
As Desmond is moving his visitors along, Locke sees the wall is filled with strike marks in groups of five, indicating a counter/calendar.  Locke asks him how long he’s been down there. Desmond tosses Kate a black power cord and tells Kate to tie Locke up.
Locke-“Wait. Wait, wait! You're tying up the wrong person.”  He tells Des it's pointless to tie him up, he’s not dangerous. But her, she's a fugitive.
Desmond-“So, what does that make you then, brother?”
Locke-“I'm a regional collections manager for a cardboard manufacturer. Boxes primarily.”
Desmond-“All right then, box man, tie her up.
Kate doesn’t want Locke to touch her but he does tie her hands behind her back and he whispers to her, “I'm doing what's best for all of us. Locke slips a pocketknife in Kate's jeans.  Kate struggles but they lock her up in a dark storage room.

At the caves Hurley asks Jack,” You're kidding, right? You're going back?”
Indeed he is.
Hurley-“What about all that stuff you said about waiting 'til morning and watching the sun rise?”
Jack changed his mind.
Claire asks Charlie, “What do you suppose all that's about?”
Charlie reckons Jack's going to do something heroic. Claire rolls her eyes at that. Then Claire remarks that Charlie always ‘tries’ to be funny when he doesn’t want to answer a question. She hands him the baby and he makes funny faces at Aaron. Claire finds a Virgin Mary statue and asks, “What's this?”
Charlie found it in the jungle, “Yeah. Be careful. Be careful with it. Hey, take Aaron. {Gives her the baby} You've got to be careful with it, you know. It's the Virgin Mary. She's holy.”
Claire didn’t realize Charlie was so religious. Charlie says he’s not, “It's just, you know, it might come in handy. It'd be a nice thing to have around.”

Mike and Sawyer float individually near each other on their rafts.
Sawyer-“It wasn't the flare. I said it wasn't the flare. Those people… that did this...at first I thought they were fisherman or pirates or something. Then I got a good look at their boat. You know anything about boats, Mike? A boat like that wasn't built for the open ocean. Water's coming over the side with the first little squall...maybe got a range of 100 miles. A boat like that had to have left port from somewhere close. Like the island. French chick said the Others were coming for a kid. I think they came, Mike.”
Sawyer feels he’s/Walt is the one they wanted and why he has a bullet in his shoulder, “Hell, Bluebeard blew us up because they wanted your kid.”
Michael-“Are you saying this is my fault?”
Yep, that’s what Sawyer is saying.
Michael feels they took his son because of Sawyer, “They were sailing away.”
Sawyer-“They found us because they were looking for us, for Walt."
Michael points something/stick at Sawyer and yells him, “Don't you ever say his name again, ever.
Sawyer-“Oh, what are you gonna do? Splash me.“
So, childish Michael splashes Sawyer, and Sawyer's raft unravels.
Mike literally turns his back on him. Injured Sawyer and his gun make his way over to Mike’s tiny raft.
Sawyer-“Look, I know you...”
Pissed off Michael tells him to “Shut up! Don't EVEN… You have no idea what it's like to care for somebody else.“
{Flash Whoosh}

Susan is waiting for Michael in a lawyer-less office. She wanted to talk to him alone. Susan thinks he’s going to win.
Susan- “In court. I think you're going to keep me from leaving the country with Walt. I just have to ask you why?”
It’s because Walt’s Michael’s son.
Susan- “Since when, Michael? {Pretty important statement! Don't you think?} Look, I know you don't care about what's best for me, but in Rome I'll be senior partner at the firm. I'll be able to give Walt anything he needs. You're still on disability, Michael. You can't work. You're about to be evicted from your apartment.“
She had her lawyer’s checking up on him, “Just like you had your lawyers checking up on me. Nobody's winning here.”
Michael-"Then stop."

Susan-“Michael, the first thing you need to do is take care of yourself. You need to get healthy. You need to get back on your feet financially so you can get back to pursuing your art. You have rare talent as an artist, Michael. But how are you going to do that, any of that...and still be a part of Walt's life?"
Michael will do it by doing it; Walt’s his responsibility too.

Susan-“Then let him go. Because it's not about you or me, it’s about him. I don't want to go court, Michael. So please just let him go.”
Michael just looks at her.
{Flash Whoosh}
In the dark storage room Kate struggles to free her hands. Son of a bitch! She frees herself by using the pocket knife and cutting the black power cord cuffs. She feels her way around and turns on the light. She is in a food pantry that is stocked with goods! As she moves a box/crate to get up to the air/AC vent she finds an open tin labeled candy and is filled with Apollo Bars. She enjoys eating one and puts a bunch in her back pockets.
Kate climbs on a crate and opens the air/AC vent and climbs into it.

The bright fake/simulated sunlight pours into the hatch. Locke fills Desmond in on their arrival. “The pilot said we had lost radio contact, but by then we were already a thousand miles off course. Any search teams would have given up weeks ago.”
Armed Desmond-“So you were traveling from Sydney to Los Angeles?”
Locke says yes.
Des seems a bit amazed, “So the world is still out there?
Locke-“As far as I know... Could you tell me your name?”
Des now seems baffled and asks, ”My name? My name is Desmond.”
Locke-“Desmond, I'm John. You should know the gun is really unnecessary.”
Des acts all tough for a second and then asks, “How many of you are there?
Locke-“43, but 4 sailed out this morning on a raft.”
The raft idea amuses Desmond.
Locke wonders about that simulated sunlight “Is that because you never leave? Is there another way out?”
Desmond doesn’t even respond to those questions, he only wonders how many of John’s group have gotten sick; as in ill, as in dead! Locke asks if that’s why it says QUARANTINE on the inside of the hatch. Desmond just wants the answer.
Locke-“No one has. No one. No one is sick.”
All of a sudden there is beeping. {We get a shot of a speaker}
Kate crawls through the AC duct. {Another shot of a speaker}
Desmond demands John get up and shuffles him to the computer room. “Stand right there. Do you know how to use this, box man?”
Locke looks amazed-“I haven't seen one of those in 20 years.”   But he knows how to use it. The countdown clock clicks down from 2:38 to 2:37 to 2:36.
Desmond wants him to, “Listen carefully, type in exactly what I tell you. Exactly, nothing else. 4, 8, 15... Did you hear that?”
Locke-“What?”
Desmond-”What did you just put in? What number did you just put in?“
Locke-“15
Distracted Desmond continues, “Right, 16, 23, 42. Now press execute.”
Nervous John stalls, wanting to know what’s going to happen.
Desmond-“Just push it!”
Locke pushes EXECUTE and the timer resets to 108. They both seem relieved. {Execute- as in carry out fully, enforce or put to death?}
Jack calls out for Kate and Locke. Desmond wants to know who the hell that is.
Locke-“That would be Jack.”
Desmond looks through his fancy looking glass contraption of mirrors {adjusting a dial} and asks Locke whom that is.
Locke-“His, uh, his name is Jack. He's our doctor.”
Locke is a little surprised to see Jack there.
Desmond reveals Locke’s doctor has a gun and pushes brotha to move, “Make one sound and I'll shoot. Move.“
Desmond walks over to the stereo, flips a switch and blasts the record player {it scratches and the song plays “Make Your Own Kind of Music.}
Kate crawls through the vent.
Desmond threatens to shoot if Locke makes a sound then pushes him, “Move!”
From up in the vent Kate can see through the grid that Jack is looking around down below {there’s a sofa}. Kate calls out to him but he doesn’t hear her. Jack takes a closer look at the computer. The record scratches to a stop!
Locke is standing alone in the doorway, “I wouldn't do that, Jack.”
Pissed off Jack asks where Kate is.
Desmond stays hidden but points the gun at John’s head. “Move and I kill him. Put the gun down.“ {Kate has ringside seats!}
Jack just wants to know where Kate is. John says she’s fine and to put the gun down. Jack isn’t putting anything down.
Desmond shoots and it hits in the vicinity of Kate’s VIP seat.
Desmond-“Do you want him to die? Put it down.”
Jack-“Is this what you were talking about, Locke? Is this your destiny? All roads lead here?”
Calm Locke tells Jack to calm down.
Desmond scoots behind Locke and tells Jack to “Lower your gun or I'll blow his damned head off, brotha.”
Jack realizes something familiar. Desmond shows his face.
Jack- “You.“ {He gets a messed up look about him}

Michael and Sawyer sit in opposite directions on the raft. Sawyer decides to one arm pull himself over to one of the pontoons.   Mike tells Sawyer to stop paddling because he’s putting a strain on the binds and it’s going to break them up.   Determined Sawyer keeps on paddling. The raft starts to break apart and Sawyer falls off. Michael wants him to climb up.
Sawyer- “I do and we both sink. I'm going for the pontoon.”
He hands Mike the gun and tells him if he sees that toothy son of a bitch, you aim and squeeze. Sawyer makes break for the pontoon as Mike roots for him to make it. The shark shows up and Michael pulls the trigger but nothing happens.
Michael fires 5x and we see blood; he hit something. All is quiet; no shark, no Sawyer.
Michael calls out for Sawyer and paddles near the pontoon.
Sawyer pops up on the other side of the pontoon, “Give me your hand.”
Michael helps Sawyer climb onto the pontoon; then Mike joins him.

Michael with his cane sits on a park bench in a park.  Susan and a young Walt meet up with Michael. Susan {Pearl earring.} apologizes that she’s late, “Packing's been a disaster and the plane leaves first thing in the morning.”
Susan asks Walt {stripe polo shirt} if he wants to say hi.
Michael-“Hi, Walt. I'm... I’m...hey, uh, {pulls a stuffed polar bear out of the bag.} this is for you, man. {To Susan} He like bears?
Yes he likes bears, he’s just really shy.
Michael kneels down, looks deeply at Walt, “Hey little man, look. I guess I can't call you that, I mean, because look how big you are. So, you and I...well, we're not going to see each other for a while, Walt. But you are going to have...a great life. I know your mommy she's going to take real good care of you. And Brian is...going to take good care of you, too. But you know what? I just want you to know… that no matter where you go... I...That your daddy...Yeah, your daddy...he loves you very, very much. And I always will. Always, okay.“
Smiling Susan is sorry about this.
Michael is emotional, he hands her the bag and wants Walt to know its from him, “sometime”.
She says okay and goodbye.
Michael-“Yeah, bye.”
He is sad as he watches them walk away.
Michael is crying on the pontoon. {His hands against his head.} The sun is rising. Sawyer wakes up and asks Mike if he’s OK.
Michael feels it's his fault, “I never should have brought him on the raft. {Now motivated and determined} I'm going to get him back. I'm going to get back my son.”
Sawyer looks over to his right and sees that, “The current brought us back. We're home.” {Indeed. They are home.}
Sawyer and Michael make their way on shore.
They hear Jin yelling. Jin's comes running over to them with his arms tied behind his back. He falls; Michael unties him while Jin's rambles on in Korean. He’s trying to tell them something important.
Jin-“Utter! Utters!...Others.”

They all look over to see a tribal looking group of people. Others.

Adrift is a great episode!
The raft guys face one hell of a challenge and end up returning right back to where they started from.
They are literally drawn back to the Island because that is where they need to be and yes...these guys are really at home.

Things to Note...Questions to ask...
* Sawyer saves Michael's life. CPR. He should be a saint. Saint Sawyer, that works for me. He could have let Michael die but that's not what Sawyers all about.
* Save your energy.
* Simulated. Fake.
* Power cord. Computer. Speaker. Countdown clock/timer. Reset.
* Team. Challenge. Another way out-Exit-Escape. Win.
* Sawyer calls Michael-Mike.
* Desmond questions Locke. The lawyer questions Michael.
* Kate and Apollo bars. I can't help but wonder if those delicious treats contain a hallucinogen in it, to help keep them in an altered state or something. Remember, I feel that they may have an "altered" thing going on; their minds would have to be altered.   That could be done with hallucinogens in food, candy, gas, injections, brain washing, etc. This is just a thought. But the candy has to have some importance.
* Susan has lots of money and a powerful job with people in high places. We should all be so lucky. lol!
*"She is just Walt's mother"...Was she just the carrier of "Walt" or carrier of something else? Is Michael a carrier of something? Is this a simple case of two people who just crossed paths, fell in love, had a child, and moved on with their lives?  Or is there more to their "role" with bringing Walt into the “world”? After all this is LOST.
* "Not made for the open water."   It's a good thing we find that out now, because later when Walt and Michael are released to find rescue we know they can't go any farther than 100 miles. I hope to heaven a big giant boat showed up for them!

Vocabulary and Research…
* New Amsterdam was a 17th century Dutch colonial settlement that later became New York City. The town developed outside of Fort Amsterdam on Manhattan Island in the New Netherland territory (1614–1674) which was situated between 38 and 42 degrees latitude as a provincial extension of the Dutch Republic as of 1624.
Buffalo, New York was called New Amsterdam for a brief period in the early 1800s
"New Amsterdam", a song by Travis on their album The Boy With No Name adrift (comparative more adrift, superlative most adrift)
* Shark is a derogatory terms for Lawyer.
* Adrift: 1). Floating at random. 2). (of a seaman) Absent from his watch adrift 1.In a drifting condition; at the mercy of wind and waves.

Who is Desmond, the man in control of the electronics/mechanics of things inside the hatch? He must be important.
I still feel Michael knows the truth about Walt, the island and his role, but he must not remember everything.
Again I can't help but wonder the parentage of Walt. Susan raises him and Michael does not. I still question the biology of Walt.
Call me crazy, even Superman was raised by another!

Love to all who are "LOST"™

Here's a picture to ponder!

Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right. The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either. You all know I hate spoilers, and I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Understood? Good. Let the fun begin! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance. It will get very exciting as we progress into the story.

Some Like it Hoth.

Let's talk about LOST! Some Like it Hoth.

{Click the pics!}
3:16 is the time on the old microwave.
The landlord tells the woman, “It’s a steal at 400."
The woman looks around the apartment. She doesn’t have to check with her husband because it’s just her.  A little boy shows up in the doorway and asks mommy for a quarter for the vending machine.
Mom-“Honey. I said wait for me by the pool.”
The landlord questions her about her, "It's just me" answer. She really meant that her husband is out of the picture, it’s just her and her son; who she claims in quiet. Apparently most of the tenants don’t like noise. {Apt 7}
The landlord will need two months up front.
Mom gives her son a coin and the boy runs off.
Mom- “No running. You hear me Miles.”

An alarm is going off in the background. {Sign: No lifeguard on duty.} Little Miles walks right through the open gate of the pool to the vending machines. He stops, as if hearing something. He gets Flashes of a dead man. Miles looks up at the apartments and focuses in on apt 4. {Note his experience is very glitchy.}
{A (bullet) hole in the railing.} Miles puts his hand on the door and knows to pick up the fake bunny to reveal the hidden key. {Note the 8/bunny.} He enters the dark apartment.

Mom asks Miles what he was doing in there.
Upset Miles tells her, “He, he was all alone. He was scared. His chest hurt. He kept calling out for Kimberly.”
The landlord reveals Kimberly is Mr. Vonner’s wife; who died last year. The landlord wants to know how Miles would have known that.
Miles- “I heard him.” {Note the landlord wearing a dark hooded sweat jacket.}
Mom shakes him, wants to know what he’s talking about.
Miles- “He’s still talking right now.”
Mom tells her honey, “He’s dead."
Miles yells while looking at the dead man, “I told you…I can hear him! I can hear him!”
Miles covers his ears. {We’ve seen Hurley do this a lot!}
In Dharmaville, Miles reads the 1977 issue of Sports Illustrated. {23. New boss in L.A..}
LaFleur radios Miles, tells him to pick up.  He will fill him in on where he’s been later, but right now he needs Miles to accidentally erase the security tapes from the pylon camera feeds.
Miles wonders why.
LaFleur ain’t got time for questions.
LaFleur enters numbers on the keypad for the sonar fence.
Absent minded Miles asks, “Which ones?”
Jim has Miles look on his monitors, “See us?
Yep! Miles confirms their on number four and asks what the hell Kate is doing out there.
Jim commands, “Just erase number four! And if anyone asks, I’m off the grid. I’m lookin for the escaped Hostile.”
Miles- “You mean your pal, Sayid.”
Jim is mad, “Damn it, Miles…You gonna help me or not?”
Yeah, Miles got it. Jim will owe him one.
Jim tells Kate to go back and find Juliet, ”See if anyone’s noticed yet if little Ben’s gone missing.” When the rest find out, he’s gonna have to do his best to cover it up, “In case you haven’t noticed, I’m head of security.”
He’ll see her back there.
Miles ejects the tape for monitor 4.
Horace comes in looking for Jim. Miles tells him he’s out looking for the escaped prisoner. Miles seems a bit distracted and mentions he tried to reach Jim on his walkie, “but he must be out of range.”
Horace is disappointed, “Then it’s gonna have to be you. Jim already knows about this, but I’m gonna bring you into the circle of trust. Can I trust you, Miles?”
Absolutely he can and that pleases Horace.
Horace presents Miles with a dark/black package.   He needs him to bring it to Radzinski at grid 334, “He’s gonna give you something in return, I want you to bring it back to me with no questions asked. You understand?”
Yep, he does.
Horace walks over to the desk and Miles comments that, “We’re not supposed to be in 3 3 4. Isn’t that Hostile territory?”
Horace- “Welcome to the circle of trust.”
Right-O! Miles heads out, never taking the monitor tape with him.

Miles drives the Dharma van down a dirt road through the jungle. Out of the bushes jumps Radzinski and his rifle, “Stop right there!” {He’s wearing a Blue Swan logo jumpsuit.}
Radzinski wants to know what Miles is doing out there, “I was expecting La Fleur.”
Miles explains LaFleur’s busy, and he’s now in the circle of trust. Miles gives Radzinski the package.
Radzinski whistles {like for a dog} and two workers wearing hard hats, bring over a dead man on a stretcher. {I believe this is not the same guy we've seen in the past.} Radzinski unravels the bag, revealing its true identity; a body bag.
The dead man has a hole in his head. {Blood near mouth.}
Miles asks what happened.
Radzinski says he had an accident, “He fell into a ditch.”
Miles asks if that’s a bullet hole in his head, {There’s a quick motion hand gesture to his own mouth} “The ditch had a gun?”
Annoyed Radzinski tells Miles it doesn’t matter what happened to him, “because knowing that is not your job. Your job is to do what I tell you to.”
The men load the body bag into the back of the van and Radzinski instructs Miles to take “him/the body” back to Horace.
Once the men are out of sight, Miles opens the body bag, whispers, asking the dead dude, “Okay. So what really happened?” {Less blood on the guys face now.}

Miles, looking very {Flock of Seagulls 1980’s. He has piercings. Hair is black with white ‘skunk’ stripes} knocks on door number 7. His plaid jacket shows us an upside down number 1.
A caregiver opens the door.
Miles- “I need to see her.”
His mom is very sick. In her room are meds, IV’s, oxygen machines, she’s lost a lot of her hair and she’s very weak.
Miles wakes up his sleeping mom; he is very emotional.  He apologizes for not being able to “make it by sooner.
Mom- “It’s Okay. You’re here now. Why did you come, Miles?”
Miles- “I need you to tell me why I’m this way.   How I do the things I do.   And I need to know why you won’t talk to me about my father.”
Mom tells him his father never cared about them. But Miles needs to know where he is. Mom feels it doesn’t matter.
Miles- “It does matter...”
Miles feels he has a right to know.
Mom blurts out, “He’s dead.”
Miles lets go of her hands as if in disbelief.   Mom continues her story about dad kicking them out when Miles was just a baby, “He didn’t want anything to do with us. So the less you knew about him… the better.”
With tears in his eyes, he wants to know why she didn’t just tell him.
Mom- “Because it was over. Your dad has been dead for a long time.”
Miles’ wheels are turning, “Where’s his body?
Mom looks angry, “Somewhere you can never go.” {Like over the fucking rainbow?!}

Dharma Miles runs down stairs in to the Security Station.
Horace {eyeglasses are tinted} is on the phone with Pierre.
Horace-“Pierre, if it was caused by the electromagnetism we need to know…You want to see it now?... {The dead body or Miles?}….Yeah, he just got back. I’ll send him out with it right away. Okay.”
Horace slams the phone down and asks Miles, “Did you bring the package?”
Miles-“Package. You mean the corpse.” Yep.
Horace-“Now I need you to bring it out to Dr, Cheng at the Orchid.”
Horace looks through a Dharma binder.
Miles is a bit freaked, “Listen, man. I’m security. If you just need somebody to drive the van, can’t someone from the motor pool do it?”
If Horace wanted someone from the motor pool he would have asked them, “And since Le Fleur decided to disappear, you’re all I’ve got. So just bring it out to Dr, Cheng and we’ll all call it a day. Okay?”
Miles heads out on his task.

Hurley opens the back of Miles’ Dharma van to load in two silver coolers.  Hurley tells Miles he just signed the van out but it really doesn’t matter, it’s Miles’.
Miles removes a cooler.  Hurley asks where Miles is going, all the while still loading his coolers in. Miles reveals he’s going to the Orchid and coincidentally so is Hurley. He made lunch/sandwiches for the crew; Ham and cheese, he even made his secret garlic mayo. {Vampires again. lol!!!}
Miles tells Hurley, “You’re waiting for the next van.“
Hurley- “Why? We’re going to the same place. Why don’t’ we carpool? It will help with global warming. Which hasn’t happened yet, so maybe we can prevent it.”
After a few seconds Hurley asks Miles if he’s on some kind of secret mission.
Miles tells Hurley to just get in the van and closes the rear hatch door of the van.

Juliet opens the cabinet doors to put away supplies. Kate comes in to tell her they gave Ben to ‘them’, the Others.
Juliet asks if anyone saw her. Kate doesn’t think so.
Juliet- “Did James help?”
Kate says yes, and thanks her for sending him.
Roger bursts in; hurrying with the medical supplies Juliet requested he retrieve from the Medical Station. He got there as soon as he could; all the vans were out so he had to run.   He sees that Ben is missing and asks Juliet if Ben is…. Nope, he’s not. {There are no other patients in the room, but there way last episode}
Juliet apologizes, “I was gone for 10 minutes…I don’t know.”
Roger is upset, “You said he was dying. How could he be gone?”
Roger asks Kate, “What is she telling me, that he just got up and walked out? You’re his Doctors, you’re supposed to watch him!”
He’s freaking out and Juliet wants them to calm down.
Roger-“Don’t tell me to calm down! Somebody came and took my boy out of here?”
He’s going to security! He storms out, knocking down a tray of medical instruments.
Juliet looks at Kate, “Well…Here we go.”

The song It Never Rains in California {Got on board a west bound 747.} plays while Miles and Hurley drive out to The Orchid.   Hurley is writing in his Dharma issued “school” black and white composition note book. Hurley asks Miles how to spell Bounty Hunter.
Miles- “What? Are you writing your memoirs?”
Hurley tells him it’s personal. Then Hurley catches the smell of something bad. They try to figure out why there’s a foul smell in the van.   Miles tells him to roll down his window. {Miles doesn’t smell it?} The smell is coming from “back there.”
Miles-“Maybe it’s your famous garlic mayo?”
Hurley tells Miles to pull over, “I gotta check.”
Miles-“Forget it. You’re imagining things.”
Concerned Hurley has to check; if those sandwiches are bad, people can get sick. He demands Miles pull over.
Hurley discovers the dead dude in the body bag. Of course Miles explains that traditionally a body is what is put in a body bag. He asks Miles, “Who is he? What happened?”
Miles tells him not to worry about it and don’t tell anybody you saw him.
Hurley asks again, what happened to him.
Miles reveals, “His names. Alvarez. He was digging a hole and thinking about some chick Andrea. Then he felt this sharp pain in his mouth, which turned out to be a filling from his tooth being yanked right out of its socket and blowing through his brain. Then he was dead.”
Hurley questions how a filling gets blown through someone’s head?
Miles-“You got me.”
Hurley wonders how he knows all this.
Miles-“Because. I know.
Hurley asks how he knew what the dude was thinking.
Miles-“I just know.”
Hurley states, “You can talk to dead people.”
Miles doesn’t answer. Hurley tells him not to worry, “Your secrets safe with me.”
The reason...Hurley reveals he can talk to them too.

Miles sits in the backyard of Mr. Gray. {Note laundry on the line. Similar red plaid shirt that I’ve seen worn by Pierre, Frogurt and Sawyer. Miles is wearing a shark on his shirt.}
Miles is trying to communicate with Mr. Gray’s dead son, who was killed last Labor Day weekend; a drunk driver ran the light. {Framed photo. Football. Number 59.}
Miles asks where his son is buried.
Mr. Gray shares they cremated him; scattered the ashes on the football field at school. Miles informs him that for what he does, it’s much better if there’s a body.
Mr. Gray-“But your ad said that you could communicate with dead any time, anywhere.”
Miles knows what his ad says. But Mr. Gray is desperate to know, “Did he know that I loved him.”
Okay.
Miles-“It’s gonna cost extra.” {Watch Miles. He knows he’s conning this guy} Mr. Gray pays him more cash.
Miles asks Mr. Gray for his hands and asks him to concentrate on Russell, "Get a picture of him in your head.”
Miles goes through his “communication contact” mumbo jumboMr. Gray asks if it worked.
Miles-“Your son says he knew that you loved him. He always knew.”
Mr. Gray breathes a sigh of relief and thanks Miles.
Miles-I’m sorry for your loss.”
He takes his suitcase and leaves Mr. Gray looking at the picture of Russell.

Miles puts his suitcase in the trunk of his car.
Naomi Dorritt introduces herself to him, says her employer’s been following his work for some time now and is interested in retaining his rather unique services. “There’s a restaurant not too far from here. Would you like to hear what I have to say?”
He sure does.
She leads the way, but he looks at her card, then at her and he looks very confused. {I thought he didn’t meet her until the freighter! More Lies?}

Dharmaville:
 We’re shown two swing sets!
Roger sits on a swing drinking. Kate asks Roger if he’s OK.
Roger-“Let me see…Well, my son got shot and now he’s disappeared so, I think I’m pretty far from OK.”
Kate tells him she’s sure things are gonna work out. He gives her a beer, “Well, thanks for the pep talk.”
Kate-“I just have a feeling he’s gonna be OK.”
This comment sends up a red flag with Roger-“What do you mean a feeling?”
Kate feels he shouldn’t give up hope.
Roger-“Do you know something?...Do you know what happened to my son…”
Kate says no.
Roger gets defensive and asks why she is so interested in his kid.  Kate apologizes for coming over, she was just trying to help.
Roger-“You wanna help, Kate! Why don’t you just mind your own business.”
Kate walks away. {Tisk, tisk, Kate. What did you do? Lol}

The song Love Will Keep Us Together is heard while Hurley and Miles drive in the Dharma van. Hurley is writing in his notebook.   He doesn’t know why Miles won’t just admit it and trust him, “I talk to lots of dead people.”
Miles asks, “So you have conversations with them, like they’re your pals?"
Hurley shares not only do they talk, but sometimes they play chess.
Miles-“You actually see them?”
Hurley-“Of course. Why wouldn’t I?"
Miles tells him, that’s not how it works.
Hurley-“AH HA! You wouldn’t know how it works unless you CAN do it.“
Miles confesses what he can do “has nothing to do with chatting with ghosts. You nitwit. It’s a feeling. A sense. When somebody’s dead, their brain stops functioning, which means there’s no more talking. There’s just who they were and whatever they knew before they died.”
Hurley’s unimpressed, “That’s how it works for me.”
Thrilled Miles is happy for Hurley. Hurley, with his nose in his notebook, remarks, “You’re just jealous my power’s better than yours.”
Miles- “We’re here. Now shut the hell up and deliver your damn sandwiches.”
They arrive at the very busy and loud construction site of The Orchid. {Concrete framed building.You can hear some guy yell something about ‘we’re ready for him.’}
Miles looks around and Notes Dr. Cheng. {Wearing a Swan Dr. blazer}
They unload the silver coolers.
Cheng asks Miles, “What’s he doing here?”
Miles tells him he came to deliver lunch to the work crew.
Cheng-“Lunch. Your instructions were to come alone."
Hurley tells Cheng not to worry; he won’t tell anyone about the body.
Miles apologizes to Cheng,“I’m sorry sir. He was rooting around in the back and he saw it.”
Hurley assures him not to worry; he can keep a secret. Cheng tells him he better! If Hurley thinks working in the kitchen is bad…Hurley tells him he likes the kitchen.
Cheng continues, “Well how do you feel about Polar Bear feces. Because if you breathe one word of this I’ll have you shipped to Hydra Island so you can weigh turds for their ridiculous experiments.”
Cheng order two men to bring the package inside. {One of the men says something like, “What the hell’s he got, Jimmy Hoffa in here?”}
Cheng tells Miles and Hurley to wait there until he gets back. {To me it feels like Miles and Pierre are aware of who they are, because Cheng is talking like a dad to his son.}
Hurley feels Cheng is a total douche.
Miles admits Cheng is his father. We see Cheng yelling at a worker.

A red light can be seen.
Miles and Naomi {with flashlight} enter the back of a restaurant’s kitchen.
Miles-“You did say you were taking me out to dinner.”
Naomi corrects him saying she was taking him to a restaurant.
Miles-“You mind telling me what’s back here, Sweetheart.”
Naomi replies, “Your audition.”
She leads him to a bagged dead guy on a table. {In front of a big oven.} Whatever she has going on here, it isn’t really Miles’ thing. Naomi understands that if the price is right, it’s exactly his thing. She tosses a wad of cash at him.
Naomi-“What can you tell me about this man?”
Miles puts the money in his blazer pocket and walks over to the corpse.
Miles closes his eyes; goes into “listening” mode. The Intel retrieved is: His name is Felix; he was on his way to deliver something {bunch of papers, photos, pictures of empty graves, purchase order for an old airplane} to a guy named Widmore. Miles looks confused.
Naomi zips up the bag.
Miles asks if he passed.
Naomi is leading an expedition to an Island, and on the Island is a man that will be very difficult to find. That’s why she needs Miles.
Miles-“Need me for what?” {Why would he ask that question? Isn’t it obvious why she brought him there?}
Naomi shares the Island has a number of deceased individuals residing on it, and as this man is the one responsible for them being deceased, we believe they can supply invaluable information as to his whereabouts. Miles tells her as much as hunting down a mass murderer sounds really safe, he’s gonna pass. Miles thanks her for the audition. Naomi informs him her employer is willing to pay him $1.6 million dollars.
Miles has an instant change of heart,When do we leave?

Miles and Hurley wait by the Dharma van. Hurley starts a conversation about Miles’ dad, but Miles doesn’t want to talk about it.
Hurley-“Are you kidding me? How weird is it that your dad is that dude from all those movies. Only back then he was called Marvin Candle, was that like a stage name?”
Sarcastic Miles asks him what part of ‘I don’t’ wanna talk about it isn’t sinking in?’
Hurley questions if Miles didn’t want to talk about it, why he told him. Hurley continues the conversation anyway, “How long have you known he was your dad?"
Miles found out on the third day they were “here”, he was on line at the cafeteria and his mother got in line behind him. “That was my first clue.”
As Hurley eats a sandwich he tells Miles all the Dharma dudes end up dead. Doesn’t he want to save them?
Miles can’t save them, they’re gonna get killed no matter what he does; so why bother? Cheng needs Miles to take him to Radzinski over at the work site immediately. Cheng says to Hurley if he says “a word…”
Hurley knows, “Polar Bear poop. Got it!”
Miles asks Cheng what happened to the body.
Cheng, without missing a beat says, “What body?

Jack erases the black board in the Dharma school room. {Note lesson on Egyptian language/symbols}
Drunk Roger comes in ready to clean the room that is on his rounds {Note Arts and Crafts, imagination- I can’t help but remember missing pieces Arzt and Crafts.}
Jack tells him he heard what happened to his son, wanted to cover for him.
Roger-“Which part? That he got shot, or that someone kidnapped him from the infirmary?”
Jack is surprised to see him there at work under the circumstances. What else is Roger gonna do, “Sit around and pray those idiots are gonna find my boy. So you can get out of here.”
Roger kicks the bucket.
Then Roger mentions Kate to Jack. He asks if Jack knows her at all; because she’s got some kind of weird thing for his kid. He tells Jack she showed up in the infirmary and gave blood, they when the kid went missing, Kate said not to worry, “He’s gonna be okay.”
Roger is beginning to feel that Kate has something to do with this, “I should go to Horace. Report her. What do you think?”
Jack, who listened carefully to everything Roger had to say, tries to get Roger to think his thought process is due to him having a hell of a day. That it's given him an excuse to go get drunk, “Maybe that’s put some crazy ideas in your head.”
Jack goes on to tell spaced out Roger that he know Kate, she’s his friend and she’d never do anything to hurt “your son.”
Drunk Roger’s only reply is “Sure.”
Jack intimidated Roger to leave.

Miles drives the van while Cheng sits in the passenger seat; Everyone is quiet.  Hurley breaks the silence by telling Cheng that he’s new here and asks him what exactly he does do at the Orchid. Cheng reveals that’s classified; he can’t even tell his wife or his three month old son. {Note Hurley asks about kids, not kid.}
Hurley purposely makes a big to-do about it being a small world and that Cheng’s son also being named Miles. {Wow! Let's sing John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt, His name is my name too. Lol} Hurley inquires about Cheng being into Jazz {Miles Davis}.
Cheng is not into Jazz, his wife is and he likes country.
Miles gives him a “look” -like “are you kidding me?!. Lol
Hurley continues to steer the conversation by mentioning those two men have been there for three years, they must be pretty tight. {Watch the looks by Cheng and Miles}
Miles-“Dr. Cheng and I don’t exactly travel in the same circles.”
Cheng wasn’t aware there were circles.
Hurley-“Great! We should all get together for a beer sometime. How awesome would that be?” Cheng tells Miles to stop here.
Cheng gets out and walks up to a wall of ivy.
He pushes open the “fake” wall to reveal the hidden work site. {The greenery sounds like it's on a chain link fence.} They drive down to the noisy construction site. {It's at the concrete stage.}
Cheng tells the guys they don’t have to wait; he’ll get a ride back with Radzinki. Hurley asks what this place is and what’s up with all the secrecy.
Miles doesn’t know and doesn't care.
Hurley spots a Dharma worker with the “hatch” lid. They are imprinting the serial/marking “numbers” on it.
Glen calls out the numbers one by one. “4 8 15 16 23…(he can’t read the smudged last number.
Hurley says it , 42”
Cheng walks by carrying rods. {Is he gonna perform a lobotomy?!}
Miles asks how he knew that.
Hurley-“They’re building our hatch.
Miles-“What hatch?”
Hurley-“The one that crashed our plane.

Miles buys food from La Vida taco stand.   {La Vida=LIFE}
A black van pulls up next to him as he walks down the street. The passenger says hello to Miles, as if he knows him.   Black Hooded guys with white 'surgical' masks abduct Miles and throw him in the van.
The passenger introduces himself as Bram. {He is on the Ajira flight. Note his use of hand gesture.}
Miles tells Bram he owes him a fish taco.
Bram-“Sorry about that but your apartment’s being watched. And we had to try our best to talk you out of working for Charles Widmore.”
Miles doesn’t know who that is.   Happy Bram shares with Miles, Widmore is “the man who chartered the boat you’ll be getting on next week.  And my friend, you do not wanna get on that boat. Do you know what lies in the shadow of the statue?
Miles doesn’t know.
Bram-“Then you’re not ready to go to that Island. But if you come with us, all those things you spent your life trying to find out, you’ll knowYou’ll know who you are, Miles. Why it is you have a gift. And most of all, you’ll know about your father. ”
Miles-“I don’t know where you’ve been getting your Intel, but I stopped caring about my father a long time ago. What I do care about is money….You want me to pass on going to the Island it’s gonna cost you double what they offered. $3.2 million.”
Bram tells him they’re not paying him anything, “All the money in the world isn’t gonna fill that empty hole inside you, Miles.”
Miles-“It’s sad isn’t it?”
Bram tells the thugs to “toss him.”
They toss Miles out of the van and Bram tells him, “You’re playing for the wrong team.”
Miles asks what team Bram is on.
Bram is on the team that’s gonna win.
We see the van speed away via the chain link fence.

Night:
Miles drives the Dharma van back.
Hurley still writing, his nose in his notebook, tells Miles, "The hatch they're building...there's gonna be an accident. Then they're gonna have to build a computer with a button you have to push, so the world doesn't end."
Miles scoffs at Hurley's statement.
Hurley asks Miles if his dad's around, "You know...when we came from...the future."
Miles says no. Hurley feels then this is kinda awesome.
Miles freaks, "How is it awesome?!"
Hurley feels because Miles gets to hang out with him, get to know him better. "And don't bother thanking me...But he was totally down for that beer, dude. You know, maybe he'll let you hold baby you or you can change your own diaper or..."
Miles slams on the brakes! Miles wants Hurley to listen up, "Cause we're only gonna have this conversation once, OK? I don't wanna hang out with my dad. I don't wanna know him better, and stuff."
Hurley asks why not, did he his dad beat him up when he was little or something.
Miles shares, "He wasn't even around when I was little, you dimwit! I never knew him until now. Why am I even telling you this?"
Hurley- "Because you're in pain and you need to let it out."
Miles-"I'm not in pain. It doesn't matter. My father is dead. He's gone. He never... cared about me, and nothing I can do, will ever change that."
Hurley tells him he's not gone, "We just dropped him off."
Ticked off Miles feels Hurley wants to get into his business, so he'll get into his.
Miles flips through the pages of Hurley's notebook; he called it a diary. They get out of the van. Hurley wants it back, and it's not a diary.
Miles-"Let's find out what's going on in that piece of granite you call a head!"
Miles reads bits off the pages: "Exterior Hoth, a little spy robot thingy, zips through the atmosphere and crashes into the snowy planet below. That's when Chewbacca shows up and blasts it away with his cross bow laser, his fury fist in the sky triumph. Chewbacca, "Raarrrr."
Hurley corrects him, its furry fist. "I needed spell check."   {Ha! Yeah,me too!}
Miles asks what the hell this is.
Hurley tells Miles he's "writing The Empire Strikes Back. It's 1977. So Star Wars just came out. And pretty soon George Lucas is gonna be looking for a sequel. I've seen Empire like 200 times, so I figured I'd make life easier and send him the script...With a couple of improvements." {That's Fucking awesome!!}
Miles thinks that's the stupidest thing he's ever heard. Well, at least Hurley isn't scared to talk to his own dad. Hurley grabs his script and heads back to the van.
LaFleur enters his house.

Juliet-"James. You're back."
James-"Barely. You ever had one of those days you feel like the little Dutch boy with your finger in the..." {What? Dam?!}
Juliet purposely interrupts his final word to acknowledge Doc is there.   Jack came there to tell him about Roger thinking Kate has something to do with his son going missing.  This is due to the fact Kate talked to him to make Roger feel better.  James is pissed.
Jack-"Her heart was in the right place."
James-"But where was her head?!"
Jack also tells him he had a talk with Roger, he doesn't think he's gonna say anything to anyone for now. Jack just wanted James to know. Jack gives Juliet his coffee cup.
James-"Thanks for filling me in, Doc."
James walks out onto the porch to see Jack off.
Phil comes over, "Hey, Boss. We got a development. You better come to the office."
James has been running around the jungle all day, so whatever Phil's got can wait a while.
Phil- "I know who took the kid."
James-"Yeah. Who's that?"
Phil presents the tape, "You."
James has a perfectly good explanation for what Phil saw on that tape. Phil sure as hell hopes so. James invites him in.
Phil hasn't talked to Horace yet, he thought that after three years of working together, he'd give him the benefit of the doubt.
James knocks Phil out; tells Juliet to get some rope.

Mr. Gray rakes up dead leaves in his yard. Miles walks right through Mr. Gray's open gate. Miles tells him he's about to go on a boat trip for a while and he wanted to give Mr. Gray his money back.{Yellow envelope} "I lied to you, Mr. Gray. I wasn't able to talk to your son."
Mr Gray asks why he is telling him this; he could have just let him go on believing what he said.
Miles-"That wouldn't have been fair to your son...If you needed your son to know you loved him, you should have told him when he was still alive."
Miles walks away. {They hang clothes to dry on the line, not in a dryer.}

Miles and Hurley pull up to the motor pool. Miles hangs the keys on hook number eight.
Hurley apologizes to him for saying he was afraid to talk to his dad. Miles tells him not to worry about it.
Hurley {gassing up the van} shares that he used to hate his dad too, "He left when I was 10. But the best thing I ever did was give him a second chance. We got to be the best of friends. And although I may never see him again, I miss him. And I know he feels the same."
Miles' dad didn't leave when he was 10; he was a baby and never knew him, "and I don't want to. It's not happening."
Hurley plays the Star Wars card. "That was Luke's attitude too...In 'Empire', Luke found out Vader was his father, but instead of putting away his lightsaber and talking about it, he over reacted and got his hand cut off. I mean, they worked it out eventually, but at what cost? Another Death Star was destroyed, Boba Fett got eaten by the Sarlacc and we got the Ewoks. It all could have been avoided if they just, you know, communicated. Let's face it, Ewoks sucked, dude."
Hurley walks away, leaving Miles with his thoughts.
Miles quietly walks over to the Cheng house and looks in the window. He sees a very happy, loving Daddy Cheng, reading a Polar Bear story to his child. A telephone rings. {Big ass Dharma logo on the baby blanket} Miles gets teary eyed watching the happy family. Cheng's call has him leaving the house right away.
Cheng calls out for Miles {who is walking away} "I need you...The sub's here from H.Q. I need your help bringing them in."
Miles will help, "New recruits?"
Cheng-"No. Scientist from Ann Arbor. Get your van and let's get to the dock."
Miles helps unload passengers and luggage from the sub. A voice from inside the hatch needs a hand with something. Out of the hatch emerges a dark Swan logo jump suited Dan.
Miles is surprised,"Dan."
Dan-"Hey, Miles. Long time no see."

Some Like it Hoth...GREAT EPISODE!! Wow! The blending and blurring of events "on Island" and "off Island" were very clear here.  Another trip down into the rabbit hole!

Things to note…Questions to ask...
If Miles really has a gift for the land of the dead, wouldn’t he “know” the truth about his father? And why would he have to lie to customers? Is he a fraud just like the psychics? If he's a fraud, then what is it that he needs him mom to share about why Miles is the way he is, and why he does the things he does? What is it really all about?
If Miles really has this gift for communicating with the dead and his services are needed to find Ben, then the obvious question is…Is Ben and everyone else dead? But then again, what constitutes “dead” or “Not Dead”, just “gone.”

In Hindu and Buddha beliefs:
* 4: Four is the number of manifestation and material reality. There are four elements, four sides of a square, four cardinal directions of a compass, four seasons, four winds, etc. It is a number of order, structure, power, and earthly dominion. Four is the number of the prototypical complete family: a father, a mother, a son, and a daughter.
At some stage in the evolution of beings they develop their own egos and awareness of a false sense of self.  Driven by their own desires and sensory inputs, deluded by maya these beings would be driven much deeper into darkness and delusion unless they are presented with a system of values and moral percepts which would remind them of their primary purpose in their lives.
The reason why we see four hands for most of the divinities in the Hindu iconography is because they enforce Dharma which is symbolically represented as number four.  Dharma is eternal (sanatana) because what ever may be the time and space, it will always be the same. It is manifested at the beginning of creation and withdrawn at the end. Because it is not created, we receive it always as bits and pieces of revelations. What is revealed is only a part of a much greater dharma. No one knows its full extent except Brahman itself.  It is revealed in accordance with the divine intent to help the beings and guide them on the righteous path. And most important of all, it can be revealed only to those who are qualified to receive it by virtue of their knowledge and their inner purity.
Dharma has four legs. In each mahayuga or epoch it loses progressively one leg. Thus in the first epoch, Dharma walks on four legs, in the second on three, in the third on two and in the last, which is the current epoch, on only one. The world will come to an end before the fourth leg is completely lost.
In Hinduism the number four is also used in association with many other concepts.
* The aims of life (purusharthas) are four, dharma (righteousness), artha (wealth), kama (desire) and moksha.(salvation).
* The stages (ashrma) in life are four: the age of studentship (brahmacharya), the age of householder (grihasta), the age of retirement (vanaprastha) and the age of ascetic (renunciation).
* The varnas or castes are four based on the four levels of human activity: pursuit of knowledge, pursuit of selfless action, pursuit of selfish action and pursuit of ignorance.
* Besides these we hear of o the four divisions of an army, o the fourth great element (mahabhuta), which is identified as water, o the four faces of Brahma, o the four quarters of the earth, o the four hands of gods and goddesses and o the four means of accomplishment (friendship, charity, conflict and aggression).
Hoth...Star Wars. A planet covered in ice. "ECHO" BASE, is the Rebel Alliance base. It has a bunch of tunnels and caverns.
Love will keep us together. Written by Neil Sedaka & Howard Greenfield in 1973. Sedaka and Wilson Pickett recorded the song in the 1970’s. The Captain and Tennille recorded it in 74 and released it in 75. The Captain’s real name is Daryl Dragon.

So when I heard the name Felix, I began to sing the Felix the Cat cartoon song in my head. Weird, I know. Felix the Cat was created in the silent film era. He had a black body, white eyes. He was also in the comics. I’m sure you’re asking how the song goes? Well, let's see if my memory works….
Felix the Cat, The wonderful, wonderful cat.
Whenever he gets in a fix,
He reaches into his bag of tricks.
Felix the Cat
The wonderful, wonderful cat
You'll laugh so much your sides will ache
Your heart will go pitter pat
Watching Felix, the wonderful cat.

On to some thoughts...First of all, magnets pulling on dental work. I find that very interesting and true. The magnets used in CAT scans, MRI's and other 'magnet' based medical equipment used to be a big issue and concern when testing/scanning patients with metal/dental in/on their teeth. How can people who have fillings, braces, bridges or any other "stuff" in their mouths work on that island? LOL!
Kate tells Roger she has a “feeling” about Ben, but in reality it is based on “knowing” what happened to Ben. Could Miles’ “gift” of “feeling” be based on the same thing? Can he really communicate with the dead?
I've felt through this season that there is "guiding" going on.   Island residents seem to be guided to face truths, lies, faults, pain, addictions, etc. in addition to literal places to go and actions to activate.  Here, “Hurley” seemed to have been Miles’ guide.   Much of the dialogue in this episode could relate back to Jack and Christian with the references to liquor and drinking, surgical masks, plus the missing Christian body on the "Island".  I don't know...call me crazy.

Pain in your chest, pain in your heart, feeling all alone… How do we come to terms with the deep seeded emotions that leave us with a hole in our heart. How do you face the pain and learn to move forward from it. When this is finally achieved, can we see a clearer path ahead, the one that will lead us to the person we are meant to become? Some of us just need a second chance.
We are again told that whatever happened in the past can't be changed. So why are a few of the Losties in 1977? Can they change anything? Can they save the world, or are they just trying to save themselves? Maybe time can heal some old wounds.

I still come back to Locke entering the 7 7 command into the computer in the Flame hatch.

A picture to ponder. (click to enlarge)
I know, you're wondering why I have this one here...Well, to me, this old guy who kicked the bucket, looks a lot like an older version of Roger Linus with a fake mustache! lol
This older man is gray, yet sports a brown mustache. Could it be from the Mr. Friendly locker of fake facial hair? lol

Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right! The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either! You all know I hate spoilers! And I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode; we all know what they are. Understood? Let the fun begin! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance.

Some Like It Like Star Wars!

Hi Losties,
As I researched this episode I came across this bit of fun info.
I wonder how "the real" writers of "Empire" got changed or erased from history?
Can "time travel" really do this? Move over Marty McFly. lol
(And no, I didn't 'create' this Wiki entry, I just found it!)

I hope it makes you smile.
Enjoy it!

Season 2 Wrap-Up.

Let's talk about LOST! Season Two Wrap-Up.

Please Note: This composition was originally posted on MySpace, November 4th, 2007. So things may be a bit dated. But these are all original notes/questions and comments. I just moved the post over to this site.

First of all I'd love to thank you for the support of this little blog. These are the crazy thoughts that go through my head and end up here. I'm just a fan like you. Well, maybe I'm a bit over the top. LOL! I know that my LOSTNESS isn't for everyone. I appreciate that we who DO fall under the category of Lostaholic, Lost Addict, Obsessed LOST Fan, Lostie, Lostketeer and any other creative name that has been said about or bestowed upon us, wear our titles very proudly!

On to business…I've been known to give you my two cents in the form of a question.  I've said it before, and I'll say it again…I try very hard to show you things that “could be” considered repeated clues.  You never know which clues are legit and which are given by the writers to have fun and throw us off.  I also try very hard to enlighten you to a few angles and issues while being very careful not to tell you what to think, how to think, give you an answer or to create a spoiler for you ahead of time.

Okay, repeated clues typed in BOLD:  Has it been helpful to you, me putting my notes together in this fashion?   Has it made it easier to follow certain things, or given you a way to go back and find where a point of interest has popped up?  Are they really clues at all?  Have I been picking out the "right" clues? What the hell do I know?  I just note them all with the hopes of putting them in the proper place of the puzzle as we progress with the story.

Here are things we may need to question as a means to get to our answers…
Go back and look at ALL the clues in bold. See for yourself how many times a clue is repeated! Again I wonder am I on the right track? I don't fucking know! But it sure gives me some place to start. Some of those things must be part of the puzzle.

Here are only some of the bold clue words. What do we make of these?
…Numbers * Records * Code * Coded * Repeating *Reset * No I.D./identity Time * Space * World * Le Mer * Silver * Sea * Stars *Travel* Games * Play * War * Guns * Teams * 'A' and 'B'* Statues * virgin Mary * 4 Toed * No Shoes * Church * Comic book * 2 halves making one * DNA * Alien * Genome * Blood * Cancer * Transformer * Morphing * Hulked * Super Hero * Injections * Drugs * Alcohol * Food* Fruit * Apollo Bars *Crazy * Insane* Hallucinations * Visions * Dreams * Illusions *Delusions* Pneumatic Tubes and Injectors *Film * Video * Cameras *Projector * Photos * Books * Scripts* Manuscript * Written* Files * Pen * Fake * Staged* Costumes * Makeup * Beards * Role * Illusion * Trick* * Real * Not Real*Power * Money* Military * Ranking * Prison * Police * Security * Guard * Fu Dog * Vincent * The smoke monster* Signal* Binoculars *Bathroom * Mirror * Reflection * Bars * Airport *Counter *Ticket * Plane ticket * Lotto Ticket*Recruiters * Hatches *Stations*Chicken * Rabbits*Language *Communication * Translation * Greek * French * Asian * Music *Names * Roles * Jobs * Work * Memory * Remember * Forgot *Two

Things for possible future clues… Jars * Phone * Call * Parachute *Temple and many more.

QUESTIONS, QUESTIONS AND MORE QUESTIONS!
These are some questions that cross my crazy mind…
* Did any of them arrive on the Black Rock? Is the Black Rock a real ship or just a prop? If some did arrive on the Black Rock, would they have gone by different names? Is there another ship/vessel on or associated with the "Island"?
* Are any survivors or Islanders older than we think? Maybe Sayid, maybe Locke? Who else?
* What is the importance of Rose?
* Were any of them recruited or “born” (created) into the whole “Island” experience?
* Can any of the survivors or Islanders transform, morph, and change their shape?
* Is there a possibility that the vaccine/medicine is really a hallucinogen?
* If the Lostie's are being kept in a "certain state" of manipulation, are there other ways of making the survivors hallucinate or go to sleep? Gas, medication, food, injections?
* Are they part of a huge game? War game? Experiment? Study? Project?
* Are certain families involved?
* Do people really die on the "Island" or are they just "removed" from the "Island" playing field?
* Are things written out, scripted? Kept in files or books?
* Are things backwards?
* Are things/people mirror images? Is there a 2 way mirror? (So to speak).
* Could there be holograms? Images being projected? Sounds being sent out over speakers?
* Does time run different on the “Island”?
* What is Santa Rosa, really? Where is it, really? Crazy, Insane, Mental Health seem to always be hinted to.
* Who is related to whom?
* Is Desmond really there for three years?
* Where did Charlie get the hood to kidnap Sun?
* Was there really a quarantine?
* Are there really Hostiles? If so who are these Hostiles? Are they people we are already aware of?
* Could the Blast Doors be protecting them from something else? Maybe the Smoke monster?!
* Is the smoke monster a shape changer?
* Who is really watching all of them? And from where?
* Is one of our Castaway's the "smoke monster"? {You know my thoughts on that}
* Reality and alternate reality?
* Two versions of things?
* Done twice? More than once.
* Could there be two or more of some of our Lostie's running around the "Island"?!

Some things to keep in mind:
* Eye-Island.
* Jack has a “universal” blood type.
* Ana Lucia is wearing different clothes in two important episodes.
* Names: Many characters have the same names. A few Castaway's go by different names.
* Something important being built on the island.
* Do we see the "same" actors show up in their Flashes because those really are "actors" portraying various manipulated scenarios?  {WOW! How's that for thinking outside the damn box?}
* Why do you see Dr Candle with an apparent fake arm? Then see him as Mark Wickman and he seems to have perfectly normal arms. Is this really the same man play acting different roles? Or is it two different people? Did he 'get' a new arm?
 * Are there really clues in the comic book? Maybe. The comic is about two halves of a being (In that case the old Flash and the new Flash, The old Green Lantern, the new Green Lantern) created to make one new greater Super Hero. There is also the part of the story that tells us about the alien that came to earth, got sick with cancer. They hid the alien away in a ship.
* Does our LOST story involve the manipulation of DNA, genetics or "coding" to "create" a new "super" or superior human? Could that be where our blood disorders or cancer comes into our story? It could be a possibility. Quarantine…
* Is there a "being" somewhere on the "Island" being hidden away? What about a "ship"? Is there an alien?
* Who are really biological "parents" to certain people?

Jobs/Roles: Examples
* Desmond was almost a doctor once, a priest once, in the military, and jumping ahead to season 3; he was involved in the theatre.
* Locke was a home inspector, worked in a discount store, worked in a box factory.
* We have a few Soldiers on the "Island", guards, police, security, a couple of doctors, teacher, rock star, etc.

Other notes of interest:
* What/Who are they protecting, really?
* What is the importance of Ontario Canada and Tallahassee? Could they be portals, recruitment stations? Great vacation spots?
* What if the Blast Door Map really isn't just a map?  What if it's a diagram for something else?
* Could the “Island” be a ship?   Underwater?
* Were they on this “Island” before?
* Who is building something important?
* Are all of them “special”?
* Are some of them genetically different from the rest?
* Danielle- How long is she really on the "Island"?  And who might her "traveling buddies" be?
* All their needs get met. Medicine, pregnancy tests, boar, food, books, glasses, etc.
* They are in a "snow globe" (of sorts).

Oh the fun I have looking up vocabulary words! I find that clues are always in the title of the episodes!
Two very important words I have not addressed yet are Hatch and Race.
Hatch- 1). Lid/entrance to boat/ship. 2). Contrive (a plot). 3). Bring or come forth from an egg. WOW! They all could fit this story.
Race- 1). Run at a set time over a regular course. 2). The course of time.
In Geology, 1). A strong or rapid current of water as in sea or river. 2). An artificial channel leading water to or from a place where energy is utilized.
In Anthropology, 1). A human population partially isolated reproductively from other populations whose members share a greater degree of physical and genetic similarity with one another than with other humans.
And in Zoology, a variety, subspecies. Again, many could fit into our story.

I still feel they were NOT in a real plane crash. I still think they were placed in those positions on the "Island".   Did Desmond screw up the arrival/timing of the plane?   Maybe that happened.  But no matter what, I feel they all were on their way to that “Island”.   They belong on the “Island”, they need to be there.
Island-Home.

I've always felt that FLASHES are not in time/linear order and NOT all things we witness are real.   I do believe that someone we think we know something about will shock us when it is revealed who they really are!

I feel that someone who holds the key too much of this story is Hurley. Yes Hurley. This is not to say every one of our Castaway's is not key to the whole of the story. Locke is pretty damn important and so is Doctor Jack!

There are things that I note with Hurley, Libby and Desmond that are different from the rest of them, although I have a strong feeling with Locke that I'm going to keep to myself for now.

With LOST I feel that the writers try very hard to blur the lines of what's real and what is not real for/with the Castaways.   They have crossed that 'Blur' line over into our reality!
I'll explain.
The show introduced us to a manuscript called Bad Twin; then the book in "our reality" is published. The show introduces us to Apollo Bars; in "our reality" Apollo bars are given out all over the place and LOST references showing up on TV shows on other networks. The LOST Experience; ARG… In the real world we went on a hunt for clues and pieced together a video with more clues and some answers. Plus, leaking of video clues at LOST events, etc. Rachel Blake shows up at an event. Jigsaw puzzles to put together. Coincidence? Come on! Does the writer’s manipulation stop there? No!  Look around! There's more! Much more!

We're told to ignore "prop" errors, yet, we're also told that everything we "see" is there for a reason! So, MRI's, different versions of lotto tickets, different outfits, "dates" on or missing from official papers, eye color, misspelled words on posters, etc. are fair game for either argument.

I always feel compelled to tell you all that I could be wrong about everything. I know, even my dear friends have a giggle about me always saying that! LOL! (You know who you are, And I LOVE YOU GUYS!!) Don't take all that I write and share here too seriously. This is not a message board or a thread on a major LOST site. This blog has been my way of sharing ALL the notes I have taken over the past three years; a way to track things, clues and anything of importance. OMG, you have no idea how many notes, stuff, and glorious shit I have with my research. I really must be friggin nuts!

So Lostketeers, share your thoughts with me. It will take all of us together to solve this TREMENDOUS MOVING PUZZLE. And yes, I always give you additional clues in each LOST blog/post, with the music, books, video and pictures in the section below.

I hope you guys continue to have fun with all of this LOST craziness!

You guys are awesome, I love ya!
