Let's talk about LOST!   Maternity Leave.

Beach at night.
Claire paces back and forth with her crying baby.  She abruptly wakes up Locke. {She shakes him}
The baby is burning up and has a rash; she needs to find Jack. 
Locke tells her that Jack's on shift at the hatch.    She heads off to get Jack but Locke stops her; he doesn't want her walking through the jungle at night so Locke will get Jack.   {Because Henry's in the hatch.}
Locke tells her not to worry, but he himself looks concerned.  Locke runs off.

At the hatch the lava lamp is still on! {Love that!}
Locke abruptly wakes up Jack who is sleeping on the sofa.
Locke-"Baby's got a fever. "
Jack-"A fever?"
Locke-"Claire was coming here."
Locke asks if "He's asleep?" referring to Henry.   We get a close up shot of the lock on the armory door.    Jack says he hasn't made a sound all night. 
Jack leaves for Claire and the baby while Locke guards the armory. {He actually listens by the door for sounds}

Claire tries to cool the baby's fever down by putting a cloth on his forehead.
Danielle is lurking behind her tent.   Claire scoops up Aaron and tells Danielle to stay away.
Danielle-"He's infected, isn't he?"   Danielle believes he's sick.
Claire screams "Please get away. You get away from us!"
Danielle - "You don't remember, do you?"
Then Claire has "Flashes" of memory!  Loud noises,  Ethan's voice saying "It's a vaccine. We don't want him to get sick.",  the crib with the Oceanic plane mobile spinning, the refrigerator with vaccines/medicine, Claire knitting blue booty, a canteen, a blue eyed girl with dark hair, the big needle injected into Claire's belly, a struggle with Danielle resulting in Danielle's left arm getting scratched, scream.
Claire has remembered something!   Kate runs over coming to Claire's defense, yells at Danielle "Get back! Get away from her, what do you think you're doing here? What are you doing here? Just get out of our camp!"      Danielle leaves.
Kate asks Claire what happened and what did she say.  Claire says Danielle said there's something wrong with him.

Jack examines the baby and isn't troubled by the baby's condition.
Claire-"It's just not like him.   He always sleeps through the night.   And this rash... I mean, there's something wrong."   
Jack-"Babies get sick, Claire."
Claire-"Okay, well, the fever and cough?"     Jack feels it's perfectly normal.
Claire-"He hasn't been eating at all."
Jack-"Claire, he's okay.  It's probably Roseola. It's a... a typical virus that's common in children his age, and the rash is a sign of it."
Claire-"Okay, what's if it's not?  What if he caught something really bad... like some kind of infection?"
Kate tells Jack that Rousseau was there and gave Claire this idea.  Claire tells Jack that Danielle said he's infected.
Jack- "There is no infection.   We've been on this island for two months and no one's gotten sick.  Rousseau's crazy.   We're gonna just let the fever run its course.  It's going to be fine, okay, trust me.   I'm going to get back to the hatch.  I'll come back in a couple of hours and check on him again, okay?"
Jack heads back to the hatch.   {Ok! I usually wait until the end of the episode review to talk about important clue connections but this one can't wait!…Roseola: most commonly affecting those between the ages of 6 months and 2 years. I t is typically marked by several days of high fever, followed by a distinctive rash just as the fever breaks.   6 months to 2 years!! HOW OLD IS AARON?? They're only on the island for 2 months!!! He was just born! HELLO?!}
Kate tries to reassure Claire, "Hey, I'm sure that if there was something wrong Jack would know."

It's day time on the beach Kate escorts Claire to talk to Libby.    Kate's concerned about Claire wanting Libby's help, "We don't really know her".
Claire thinks Libby can help.   Hurley and Vincent is with Libby. 
Claire-"So, you're a shrink, right?"  
Libby-"I'm a clinical psychologist, but "shrink" works, too."
Claire needs help remembering.     Libby feels  it depends on what you need to remember {Yeah, Libby doesn't want her to remember everything, only select things!}
They walk through along the beach.
Claire-"So, it was our second week on the island.  I was out in the jungle and I thought I was having the baby.  Charlie was with me...and there was this man, Ethan.   We thought he was one of us from the plane but he wasn't.   So, he took me.   He took both of us.    And... I don't remember. I don't remember anything."
Kate-"When Jack and I found Charlie he was hanging from a tree... by his neck.
Claire-"I have no idea what happened and now I'm seeing these, these flashes of things and... you know, I have amnesia.   There's two weeks missing from my life." {She sees 'FLASHES' of things. Yes! 'FLASHES'!}
Libby-"Claire, I don't think you have amnesia.   You know, sometimes when something terrible happens to us there's a little switch in your head that flicks on to protect us from having to deal with it.    Maybe your memories aren't gone.    Maybe you're just blocking them."
Claire-"Then I need you to unblock them.  Cause my baby's sick and they did something to him."
{Watch Libby's face when Claire says 'they did something to him'.   I know, I read body language!}

In the hatch Jack and Locke bring Henry food and a book.   Jack asks Henry if he has to  go to the bathroom.   Henry doesn't need to go.
Locke gives him Dostoevsky- The Brothers Karamazov to read. 
Henry- "Dostoevsky. You don't have any Stephen King?"    {Yeah, my personal favorite!}  Locke tells him the library is a little out dated.
Henry- "Right. Well, thanks."
Jack and Locke leave the armory.
Jack asks "What's with the book?"
Locke- "Just something to pass the time.  Did you know that Hemingway was jealous of Dostoevsky?  {Jack didn't know}  He wanted to be the world's greatest writer, but convinced himself that he could never get out from under Dostoevsky's shadow. Kind of sad, really. What are we doing, Jack?"
John-"We can't hide him down here forever. Changing shifts around is going to get people asking questions. I just want to know what the long term plan is."
Smart ass Jack {I love Jack} says that they don't have a long term plan for the button, but they keep pushing it. "Look, until we know who he is, whether or not he's telling the truth,  we have to keep doing what we're doing. If you've got a better idea let's hear it."
With that Henry answers from beyond the armory door "How 'bout you let me go?" {Classic!}

Kate watches Aaron while Libby and Claire are away from the noises of the camp, sitting Indian style. {hehehe}

Libby hypnotizes Claire.
Libby-"Just breathe.  Let your whole body relax, good. Listen to the waves. Good, in and out slowly.  Good. Keep your eyes closed. Very relaxed.  Claire. Just keep breathing.  Now, I want you to visualize yourself when you were pregnant. Keep listening to my voice. Think about what you see."
While under, Claire sees "Flashes"!
Loud noises, "You don't want him to get sick.", vaccine bottles, the blue eyed girl mouths for her to "wake up",Oceanic plane mobile spinning, man behind glass, ultrasound or some image of the baby, needle into belly, a hand covers Claire's mouth.
scream.  Claire is being examined,  "When was your last check-up, Claire? {Claire is experiencing a scene}
She tells him that she hasn't had a check up in a while, she's been busy, she's going to L.A.
The voice-"Traveling in your third trimester. That's not usually recommended."
Claire- "Well, there's a family there. I'm, uh, giving the baby up for adoption."
The voice-"Oh, of course, I understand. The sedative I gave you was very mild. I know these can be exams very stressful."    {He uses a key on a Dharma keyring to unlock the refrigerator}
The doctor go to a refrigerator and gets the vials. "I'm going to give you a shot now, Claire. {We see the doctor is Ethan.  Silver/metal syringe}  A little medicine for your baby.  Don't worry. You're just going to feel a little pinch."   {Claire looks a bit concerned, confused and out of it.}
Claire gets more memory flashes again and snaps out of it/wakes up!
Claire back on the beach.  Libby tells her it's okay.  Claire realizes she was with Ethan.
Claire-"I remembered, okay. I saw Ethan. He was there and he was giving me an exam.
Libby-"Claire, what you saw could be combining experiences of what happened before the crash to the night you were having dreams here on the island.
Claire-"No, I know this was real. I was drugged. He did something to me."
Kate-"Claire, you need to calm down, alright. It's not good for Aaron."
Claire-"You know what, Aaron is sick, okay. I need to find that place. That room, it's real. It's real. And, hey, there's medicine there for the baby. I need to find it. I need to find it. Kate, please help me find it."

Eko cuts down the tree he marked with X.
Eko enters the hatch.   Jack hides in the bathroom with Henry.
Locke is changing a light bulb.  Eko wonders, "You are alone?"
Locke-"Not anymore."   {Jack is telling curious Henry to shut up.}
Eko was hoping to  borrow a saw. {Locke is checking out new light bulbs}.
Locke leaves and Eko sees the used cot through the open armory door .

Sawyer is reading the book Lancelot and drinking bottled water outside his tent.  Kate wants a gun from him and he doesn't get to ask why.   Seeing as he has all the guns he indeed gets to ask why.  Kate doesn't answer.
Sawyer-"Check it out...I found a new pair of glasses damn near my prescription. Do you like 'em?"  {Because on this island all of your needs are met! ALWAYS!} Kate confesses she's going into the jungle to track down Rousseau; the French chick.
"Claire thinks she knows where there might be some medicine. The baby's sick."
Sawyer seems concerned, wants to help and tells her,"Well, hell, I got medicines."
Kate-"She thinks he's really sick... as in quarantine sick."
Sawyer wonders what Kate thinks.
Kate-"I think she's a little too worried, but she's going after Rousseau with or without me."
Sawyer-"No boys allowed, huh? {Kate nods no}  Alright, what do you want, 9 millimeter or rifle?"   {That's Ok, he can go with me on my trek into the jungle!  lol}  Kate gets a gun.

Claire gives Sun the baby to care for while she's on her trek.
Sun doesn't think it's a good idea and maybe she should listen to Jack. 
Claire-"What if Jack's wrong, okay? Jack said the fever would break and it hasn't.He's getting worse."
Sun tries to assure her to wait while Claire angrily wonders how long she's supposed to wait.
Sun also tells her that a mother shouldn't leave her child. 
Claire is getting pissed off, "I'm sorry, are you a mother?"
Sun- "No, I'm not. Claire, are you sure you want to do this?"
Claire-"What did you say?" {Something sounding familiar}
Sun-"Are you sure you want to do this?"
Claire remembers something! Claire has Flashes...
Log, Ethan -"You need to be sure", the log, Oceanic mobile, the girl saying: "You need to get out of here",operating room, Claire with someone holding something over her mouth, being injected with a syringe, canteen, the refrige with the meds being opened by Ethan. He fills a syringe.{love the beautiful music in the background}

Claire is obviously drugged and loopy. "Do you have to put that in my tummy? It really, really hurts." {Did they put anything else in her tummy? What is he really doing to her? Also note the condition of the exam room; neat and clean, ready for use}
Ethan-"I know. I wish there was another way. But the baby needs it, Claire. Okay?"   He gives her the shot. "And now, because you've been such a good girl, I think it's time for a surprise."  {What, is she a little kid?!}


Ethan takes her down a hallway that has missing ceiling pieces and is rusty.  There's a small door with "Escape Hatch" over it!  Dharma/medical logo on the wall.


Claire looks in to a small alcove, it's dark, has a concrete ramp and steps.
 

 Claire is very loopy but seems to want to walk there but Ethan leads her  in another direction. "Claire, this way. Here we go. Over here."
Ethan shows her a baby boy's nursery.  The room has two doors. We see airplanes, trains, boats, stuffed animals, stars, mobile w/Oceanic planes and a star as the center piece of the mobile {one of the 4 planes is in a downward angle, animal cutouts on the wall, bunny on the blue dresser, fire engine picture, books, an abacus and a rocking chair. {Is Jacob sharing his chair?} Modes of travel and the stars are all over this room.

Claire-"What is this place?"
Ethan-"It's for your baby, Claire.
Claire feels it's amazing but wants to know what happened to Charlie.
Ethan tells her Charlie is fine. "When we got far enough away from camp, I let him go back."   {So who really hung Charlie?}
Claire asks "Where did it all come from?"
Ethan-"Well, I'd love to explain everything to you, Claire, but I'm afraid it would be a little overwhelming right now."
Claire seems to recognize the crib with the mobile.  Ethan tells her to turn it on and she does. It plays Catch a Falling Star. {a song she said her dad used to sing to her, Also, note the police car on the bed bumper} She seems confused.
A voice outside of the room needs to talk to Ethan.
The voice-"What the hell happened? You were supposed to make the list and then bring her in. Was I unclear?"
Ethan-"It's not my fault. They knew I wasn't on the plane. They had a manifest."
The voice's identity is revealed to be Mr. Friendly/Tom without his costume and beard.
Tom{whispers}-"What am I supposed to tell him? You know what he's going to do when he finds out. Damn it, Ethan."    {So, Ethan screwed up big time!} Claire is looking at him. Tom sees that and makes sure Claire can't hear them and closes the door.
Claire has memory flashes with the young woman saying: "Get out. Get out of here."
Then we see Claire back on the beach disoriented from her flashes.
Sun asks Claire if she's alright. Kate asks her if she's ready to go.
Claire-"Aaron, sweetheart, Shhhh. Mommy's got to go now, sweetheart. Don't cry. Don't cry. I'll be back really soon and I'm going to make you feel all better, okay. I promise. {to Sun}Thanks."

Kate tracks Danielle's trail. {Kate is awesome!}
Claire asks her what she knows about Rousseau, since they spent time together when they went to the Black Rock. {Claire's diary mentions the Black Rock}
Kate tells her about her ship crashing there, her research team getting stranded, they died. Claire wants to know how, so Kate shares that "She killed them."
Kate- "Tracks are gone, Trail ends here."
Yet there's Danielle!
Danielle "Because they were infected. You believe me now, don't you?"
Claire remembers scratching Danielle and she wants her to take them back to where she scratched her. 
Claire admits to remembering a lot!  "No, okay, she knows I remember! Hey, I remember a lot of it now. I remember the room, the medicine, a teenage girl. Okay, so don't lie to me and make out you don't know what I'm talking about. My baby is sick and you're going to take me back there to get what he needs. Right now!"
And of course Danielle reveals, "It's not far from here." {The tracks are gone, yet Danielle is standing only a couple of feet away, shouldn't the tracks have kept going to where she stood?  She doesn't leave tracks.}

Jack on the beach getting water.  Eko wants to have a word with him.  "Who is he?"     
Jack, "What?"
Eko knows about the man that he's keeping in the hatch. Jack asks if Locke told him.
Eko-"Locke did not tell me anything. Who is he? I wish to speak to him."
Jack-"Speak to him about what?"
Eko-"I wish to speak to him alone. Can you arrange this?"
Jack-"Why should I do that?"
Eko-"Because you wish to keep this a secret."    {Ah, Eko worked a deal.}

Back in the jungle Danielle has led Claire to the area where she was scratched. But there's nothing there; they're in the middle of the jungle.
Danielle-"Where do we go next?"
Claire-"Why are you asking me that? You need to tell me where to go."
Danielle-"Where is this room?!"
Claire is getting upset and wondering how can Danielle be saying that.  "Okay, you grabbed me, that's why I scratched you because you were taking me back to them."
Danielle-"Is that what you think?  You said you remembered!  That's why I brought you here. You lied!"   She grabs Claire!
Kate points her gun at Danielle demanding she get her hands off of Claire.
Claire walks away. 
Danielle walks up to Kate and the barrel of her gun {on her chest/heart} and wants Kate to shoot her.  Kate is puzzled and walks away from her and follows after Claire. 

Claire comes upon the familiar log from her Flashes.   This triggers more Flashes: the medical team in the exam room set up for a procedure, complete with incubator, young girl- "Wake up"
Ethan enters her room,
She's knitting a blue booty, "One down, One to go". {WOW!! Rocking chair. Plus she has a wave ring on}
Ethan-"Now all we need is a little foot to put it on, huh?  Tell you what, what do you say we sneak out of here and take a walk?"

Claire is drugged up and very wobbly.
Ethan-"I'm sorry this is the first time I've managed to get you out.  My friends are afraid you'll run away. Whoa! Whoa. Don't tell on me, okay?"
They sit on the log and he offers her a canteen/drink. It's sour to her but not to him.  The baby kicks and Ethan wants to feel it kick.
Ethan-"Claire, can I tell you a secret?  I'm gonna miss you.  I wish...I wish you didn't have to go." {He's gonna miss her?!  So, they didn't just meet!}
Claire-"Maybe I don't have to go?  He explains that they've been through this, there's not enough vaccine for her and the baby. {In this state she is in she's not afraid to stay with him/them}
Claire-"Well, I'm not, I'm not sick."
Ethan-"Thank God.  And once you've delivered you can go back to your friends and hopefully you'll stay that way."
Claire-"What if I want to see the baby?"
Ethan-"Hey, nobody's going to take him from you unless that's what you want. You have a choice. We're good people, Claire.  We're a good family.   But if you're going to trust us with your child I want you to be sure. Okay?"
{Sounds more like she's freely giving the child over, not that they're taking it from her. Also, is this her 'real' destination, not L.A. to give the 'good family' her baby? hmmm?! This is VERY interesting! Claire's memory/flash of her and Ethan is being experienced from the outside looking in.   A looking glass effect.} It is sunny, and Claire is watching herself and Ethan speaking. WE SEE 2 CLAIRE'S AT THE SAME TIME!!!


When she 'wakes' from her flash she is in the rain in the jungle with Kate.  Claire seems disoriented.
Kate-"There you are. Where are you going?"
Claire is excited because she knows this is it.   Kate tries to interrupt her but Danielle tells Kate to leave Claire alone, "Let her look."
Kate-"Look for what? Claire! Claire!"
Claire pulls off vines and a tarp, revealing two doors to a hatch.   {Dharma Medical logo}   An ENTRANCE!
Kate and Claire open the two doors and look down. They can see light flickering.

 

The women enter down the ramp and Kate finds flashlights {Of course} in a wall cabinet. 
The hallway is very run down, wires hanging, cob webs.  {Kate's going to turn the power on even though there are wires hanging! LOL}
Claire directs them where to go and finds the room/nursery she was in, except but everything is gone except the rocking chair.   The room shows signs of age.
Danielle-"What is this place?"
Claire-"It's where they were going to keep him."
Kate finds a room filled with lockers containing costumes, theatrical glue, fake beard, and makeup. She realizes the others wear costumes!

In the nursery Claire finds the blue bootie she knitted.

 

Danielle still makes like she knows nothing, although she didn't seem too surprised about this place.
Claire has Flashes "Wake up" and there's the teenage girl.
Loopy Claire asks, "Who are you?"
The girl-"Shhh.  He'll hear you. Look, you have to get out of here."
The girl is trying to help Claire escape the procedure that's going to happen. Claire feels she can't leave.   The girl tells her, "Yes, you can."
Claire insists she can't leave.  The girl tells her not to scream," They're going to do it tonight."
We see the medical team getting ready for this procedure {Do you see any familiar faces there?!}
Claire-"Do what?"
The girl closed the door,"Shhhh... You're going to die. They're going to cut him out of you. I can get you back to your camp, but we have to leave. Now!"
Claire feels the girl is lying because she's sure about this.
The girl struggles with Claire, "Shhhh."
Claire-"Get Ethan, I want to talk to Ethan. Ethan wouldn't hurt me. Ethan wouldn't..."
The girl puts Claire to sleep with chloroform, "You'll thank me for this one day."
Flashes of Ethan- "It's a vaccine, we don't want him to get sick."
Claire is holding the blue bootie and declares "It's here. The medicine's here."

Claire and Danielle enter the exam room and find the refrigerator is overturned. Claire tries to move it but it's too heavy.  Danielle just stands there, staring; looks as if she's in familiar surroundings, but trance like.

 

Claire yells for Kate to help her.  Danielle doesn't move or help the girls.   The girls lift the refrigerator that once held the medicine/vaccine.   It is empty. 
Claire starts yelling at Danielle demanding to know where the vaccine is!  "You were bringing me back here.  Where is it?!  You know where it is, don't you? Tell me! Tell me where it is! Tell me!"
Claire remembers struggling with Danielle and then looks at Danielle's arm where she had scratched her.
Pregnant Claire is  waking up in the jungle.  She calls out for Ethan and saying she's sure she wants him to take the baby.

All of a sudden Danielle is there in front of Claire.
Claire-"Who are...who are you?"
In the distance she hears Ethan calling out for her and Claire replies back to him.
Ethan-"I can hear you, where are you?!"
Danielle wants Claire to be quiet but Claire again calls out to Ethan. "I'm here, Ethan!"
Claire tells Danielle she has to give "him" to them so he'll be safe, okay. "Help! I'm here! Ethan!"
Danielle puts her hand over Claire's mouth and they struggle and Claire scratches her. Claire falls and Danielle knocks her out with the butt of her rifle.

Claire realized Danielle wasn't trying to take her back, "You were trying to save me."
Danielle-"I carried you on my back to your camp. I left you where they would find you." {Damn these island women are friggin strong!}
Claire-"I'm sorry. {Danielle starts to leave}Where are you going?"
Danielle-"You're not the only one who didn't find what they were looking for."

The chicks head back in the rain.    Danielle decides,"This is as far as I go."  
Claire asks her if her baby was a girl.
Danielle says yes and that her name was Alex... Alexandra.
Claire-"I remember a girl, a girl with blue eyes.  She helped me.  She saved me, just like you did. She wasn't like the others. She was... good."
Danielle cries- "I'm sorry that you didn't find what you were looking for.  And I hope your baby's not infected. But if it is... I hope you know what must be done."     She heads back in to the jungle.

At the hatch Locke does the dishes.  Jack and Eko enter.  
Locke wonders,"Back for more tools?"    Jack informs John that Eko knows.
Locke-"Well, there you go."
Jack warns Eko to "be careful what you say to him, he's smart and curious. Just give us a shout when you're done."
Locke adds, "If the alarm goes off, don't tell him what it's for."
Eko-" What is it for?"  {WTF? They don't even know what's it's for! Or do they? Hmmm?!?}
Locke, using the combination, opens the door.

Eko meets Henry.   Mr. Eko is very courteous to Henry even holds out his hand to shake it but Henry is seems nervous.  They introduce themselves.
Eko asks him how long he's been there,  {Two days}  and also inquires if he's being treated well.  Henry says he's a prisoner and he doesn't know why or for what.   Eko shares they are being careful because they believe he's lying.
Henry-"Why would I lie? They think I'm one of these Others... other what?"
Eko-"Please, stop talking, Henry.   The first night I spent on this island I was dragged into the jungle by two men. They never spoke a word to me, nor I to them.  I killed these men... smashed in their head with a stone, felt their blood on my arms.   I need you to know how sorry I am for this.   I need you to know that I am back on the righteous path now.   And that I regret my actions.   I ask you for your forgiveness."   {Confessing to Henry.}
Henry-"Why are you telling me this?"
Eko-"Because I needed to tell someone."   He takes out a large knife and cuts off the two braids from his chin.
At the beach Jack examines the baby. He is better; the fever broke and the rash has started to fade.  Claire thanks Jack for everything.
Jack-"I didn't do anything. I'll check back in a couple hours, okay?"   Jack leaves.
Claire shows Aaron the booty and starts to get emotional.  "Look, Mommy made this for you when you were still inside her tummy... You know, I wanted them to take you. But now I know,I know that we're supposed to be together, you and me. We're supposed to take care of each other, okay. You're mine and I love you. I love you so much."

In the hatch Locke brings Henry bowl of food/fruit.
Henry- "No cheeseburgers huh?" {Cheeseburgers!}   He asks if the bit Locke said about Hemingway was true.
Locke-"You have good ears."
Henry-"You have thin doors."
Locke-"You read Hemingway?"
Henry-"Sure, guy ran with the bulls, fought in the Spanish Civil War, stuff I can wrap my brain around, this is I can't get through five pages of ..."
Locke-" Well, Dostoevsky had his virtues, too. He was a genius for one. Bullfighting isn't everything."
Henry-"So, which one are you?"
Locke-"I'm sorry."
Henry-"Are you the genius, or are you the guy who always feels like he's living in the shadow of a genius?"
Locke-"I was... I was never very much into literary analysis."
Henry-"I just don't understand why you let the doctor call the shots."  {This rubs Locke big time!!!}
Locke-"No one calls the shots. Jack and I make decisions together.
Henry-"Right, okay.  My mistake."
Locke leaves the armory, starts to do the dishes, and then loses his temper, swiping all the dishes on the counter to the ground. Henry is very satisfied with getting Locke worked up
{Let's also note, just for fun, the camp has 2 Dr's., Jack and Bernard.}





Maternity Leave is a GREAT EPISODE!!
Lots of answers in this episode but many more crazy questions.
Jack likes being in charge/control.  He also seems not to mind holding a prisoner.
MOST IMPORTANT IS WE SEE TWO CLAIRE'S AT THE SAME TIME!
Outside, looking in!!!!!! Who else is on the outside looking in?!!!! YEP!!!

* How old is Aaron?  Is Roseola a clue to Aaron's age or a clue to ROSE?  Maybe age is irrelevant.
* How long does Ethan really know Claire?  How long do all of these people know each other?  How long are they on the "island" - "off" the "island"?   How many 'trips' to the "island" have they made and over how much time?  How much time really passes?  How much time has passed since Claire was really in the medical station?  Or was the 'set' just changed?!   There are costumes and make up, props! Proof of some things being faked or staged?!  Theatrical, Illusion, Razzle Dazzle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
* REAL…What's real and what's NOT real?  I keep saying that too.   The clues tells us that some things are NOT REAL!  Life before the 'crash'- Real or Not?  Life on the "Island"- Real or Not? Life off the island- Real or not real?  What's been staged, faked and manipulated? Some of it or... all of it.
* Is there really a vaccine, or medicine? Is it called vaccine one time on the island and medicine another.  Why is it called two different things?  How's that for thinking crazy, outside the box!
* The Black Rock and Danielle's ship...One in the same?   Uh, where's her 'ship'?  Is it the black rock or a more impressive 'ship'?   Was there a ship at all?   Did she really crash there 16 or 100 years ago or 2 months ago? Has she always "lived" there?
* Are they all drugged/wired at times? To be put/kept in a certain mental/psychological or a dreamlike state.  Drugged, sedated, sleep, hypnosis, awake, dream this is blurring reality!!!!!
* Here it is again…THEY DON'T REMEMBER!!! But a few start to! Apparently Danielle has remembered something too. We know all the people involved have certain roles/jobs to carry out. This must include 'insiders' to help keep the 'illusion' going, keeping everything secret. Believe me this will all make sense!!
* Here's something that's bothered me; Ethan and Charlie!   Ethan really screwed up, but enough for him to be killed?  If he didn't hang Charlie then who did?  Who is Charlie really? Did Charlie "have to kill" Ethan?!!
* Who is Aaron? Where will Jacob come in? Are any of them 'children' of Jacob? What? Don't laugh, it could happen.
* Did Danielle willingly give her baby up just as Claire was willing to do?
* Choice.
* Needles. Ultra sound/Sonogram.
* Exam.
* Fever. Sick. Infected.
* Crazy. Shrink.      Clinical psychologist.
* Prescription. Injections. Medicine.
* Eko confessing  to Henry.  Also note that Eko should have been taken that first night!
* This episode doesn't present things to us with the traditional Flash Whoosh.  We have had episodes give us additional character info not via Flash Whoosh.

Vocabulary and Research...
* Roseola (also known as sixth disease, exanthem subitum, and roseola infantum) is a viral illness in young children, most commonly affecting those between the ages of 6 months and 2 years. It is typically marked by several days of high fever, followed by a distinctive rash just as the fever breaks.
* Quarantine is voluntary or compulsory isolation, typically to contain the spread of something considered dangerous, often but not always disease.  The word comes from the Italian  (seventeenth century Venetian) quarantena, meaning forty day period.
-confinement or segregation from society
-Signal Flag (yellow & Black squares) called the "Yellow Jack" which when flown in harbor means ship is under quarantine.


FLASH, FLASHED, FLASHES!!!!!!!  More proof that the flashes we're shown aren't all really flashbacks, or in "time" order.   Claire had some of these flashes before Ethan took her.  If some of these aren't flashbacks then what the fuck are they? Time Travel?!!
They could be different go-arounds on the "Island".
Is Claire the only one who has FLASHES such as these? NO!  Things are just being repeated, going in circles...Looping.

Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right! The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either! You all know I hate spoilers! And I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode; we all know what they are. Understood? Let the fun begin! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance.

One of Us.

Let's talk about LOST! One of Us.

Sayid, Juliet, Kate and Jack are on their trek; they cross and stop at the stream.
Sayid tells them it's getting late; it's a good place to make camp.  Sayid drinks from his canteen.   Jack and Kate gather firewood. {We get a lot time watching them break and gather the limbs.}
Kate asks him if he wants to talk about the week he spent over there with "Them".   Jack tells her he made a deal with them, if he took care of Ben, "they'd let me off the Island. I kept my head down, did what I was supposed to. And I didn't ask any questions."  That's it.
Juliet freshens up in the stream. Sayid approaches Juliet wanting to know "What you people are doing on this Island? Why are you people are terrorizing us? Making lists. Kidnapping children. I want to know everything. But the first thing I'd like to know is, who are you?"   {She obviously doesn't know!}
{Flash}
Dr. Juliet Burke pulls up to a secured facility. The song Downtown plays on the radio.   She's met by a guard; tells him she's with Mittelos Bioscience and shows her ID.  Her sister Rachel is with her.  The guard will let Mr. Alpert know she's here.   Rachel sees the security cameras and comments that they're taking the corporate secrecy thing a little too seriously.   Juliet feels she'll never fit with these people.

Ethan knocks on the car window 2x and asks Juliet to pop the trunk so he can get her bags. {Window going up and down! Open/Close!}
The gate opens and Richard greets them, "You managed to find us."
Juliet with purse and key says, "I didn't even know there was an airport out here."
Richard-"I know. It surprises everyone." {Car has Florida plate.} Richard introduces himself to Rachel and thanks her for letting them borrow her sister for a few months.
Rachel- "Just promise me you'll bring her back in one piece."
Richard-"Well, we'll do our best." {OMFG! Do your best?!} {Men wearing ties, except for Ethan.} Because of security they have to take Juliet in the rest of the way. She says goodbye to Rachel at the gate and gives her the keys. Worried Juliet asks her if this is a mistake, "What if you get sick again?"
Confident Rachel says, "I won't. Cancer's gone. And I'm a 100 percent preggers." Juliet promises to be back before she gives birth.
Rachel-"Don't worry about us. You spent your whole life working to get here. So don't blow it." They love each other. Rachel tells her sister, "Go make us proud."
They close the gate.

Sayid asks, "Who are you?"
Juliet-"If I told you who I was, if I told you everything that I know, you’d kill me."
Sayid-"What you'd think I'd do if you don't?"
Jack tells him to leave her alone, she'll answer his questions when she's ready, “And you'll wait until she is. She's under my protection."
Sayid is not pleased and Juliet is very pleased!

Charlie is on the beach with his laundry; he hears Aaron crying. Claire is sleeping and the crying isn't waking her. Charlie wakes her. She tells him she's feeling a little 'off.'; she didn't sleep well. Charlie offers to take the baby while she rests some more.
Claire-"I won't sleep long." {Oh Yes you will.}

Sayid is pissed as he's cutting a path through the jungle very quickly. Kate is behind him; Jack and Juliet lag behind.
Juliet asks Jack-"I guess it's no use asking them to wait up, huh?"
Jack tells her to give them time, "They'll come around."
Juliet-"My people kept Sayid chained to a swing set for three days, then I dragged Kate through the jungle, handcuffed myself to her, and lied about it. How much time do you think they need?" {SHE dragged Kate, then handcuffed her! She made it look like something it wasn't! And Jack didn't catch this?! Is he not listening? Or does he already know the truth?}
Jack tells her they'll be back at "our" beach in a couple of hours; they'll probably be over it by then. Jack asks her if she's nervous.
Juliet- "Hell Yeah" and smiles. {Nervous? For what? This isn't the friggin' prom!}
{Flash}
Herarat Aviation.
No one is in the airport except for Richard, Juliet, Ethan and the woman at the counter.
Richard tells Juliet "I know six months sounds like an eternity. You're gonna be amazed at how time flies once you're there."
She can't wait to find out where there is.

No tie Ethan will take Juliet's vitals. Richard lets her know that everyone at the company's excited to have her, as her "research will really have a major impact on us."
He prepares an ORANGE drink for her; he shakes up a packet of tranquilizer, mixes it into the juice. Richard tells Juliet she's gonna want to be asleep for the trip.
Ethan adds, "It can be kind of intense."
Juliet freaks a little. She signed all their papers and agreed to not talk to anyone in her life for six months and is fine with the fact that "no one in the medical field has ever heard of Mittelos Bioscience..."
Richard asks her why she was fine with all those things, "It was quite a leap for a job opportunity. I mean we're not paying you that much."
Richard goes on to say Juliet thinks she's fine with everything because deep down she knows the place they're taking her to is special.
Richard-"You took a woman, your own sister. Whose reproductive system was ravaged by chemotherapy, was sterile, and you made her pregnant. You created life, where life wasn't supposed to be."
He tells her that's a gift and that she's meant to do something significant with it. We're they're going, she can do just that! He can't tell her where they're going, but he can tell her is she'll see things there that she never imagined. No one is forcing her and if she's changed her mind, they could take her back…. With that Juliet downs the entire glass of Orange juice! Ethan tells her she shouldn't have drunk that so fast. She is out!

Juliet is waking up to a red glow. {Red light bulb.} She's strapped down to the bunk.
Ethan-"Good morning. No. no. It's okay. You'll be hoarse for a few hours, but it gets better as the day goes on." He apologizes for strapping her in, "The last leg is always a little bumpy." He tells her to watch her head as she climbs off the bunk: no shoes and she's groggy. She walks past two guys sitting at a small table drinking coffee. Ethan informs her "We're here", and points up.

Juliet climbs up and out. {Her POV- looks like a tube/well.} Ethan walks away. {WATCH OUT! Now she has on her SHOES! One minute no shoes, the next, shoes! EYES.} She stands on the sub and looks around. {That is a beautiful island, indeed! I want to go there so badly!} Benjamin Linus introduces himself to her; they shake hands. He's looking forward to working with her and tells her to watch her step. A guy closes the hatch. {This does not appear to be open water. It looks more lake-like. Why a sub?}

Charlie takes care of Aaron. {Papaya?} Hurley’s making soggy oatmeal.
Sawyer comes over, "Well if it ain't three men and a baby."
They look confused. Sawyer counted Hugo twice! {!!!} Claire's not doing well so she asks for aspirin as her head's pounding.
Sawyer-"I got you covered. Two aspirin, coming right up."
Sawyer, who is eating his bowl of cereal, sees Jack, "Son of a bitch." Then he sees Kate and he is relieved. {He loves her so much.}And then he sees Sayid. Everyone on the beach is hugging them, everyone's happy. Everyone is reunited.
Sawyer sees Juliet standing a few feet away and angrily asks, "What the hell is she doing here?"
Juliet sits alone on the beach looking out to the water. Hurley comes over for a few words. "So. You're like, one of them, huh?"
She says, "I'm Juliet."
Hurley-"I don't remember you from the dock. After you put bags on our heads. After you shocked us." {With darts?} Juliet remarks she had the day off. Hurley hears she's a doctor.

Juliet-"More of a researcher…They send you over here to keep an eye on me?"
Hurley informs her the last one of you guys that came over here, Ethan...He kidnapped Claire and Charlie got upset. We buried him over there." {Juliet's eyes.}
{Flash}

A "Flat line" sound is coming from the machine. Juliet is in the O.R. {Same room Claire was in with Ethan. Goodwin and Ethan are there. Baby incubator.} Ethan tells Juliet “She’s gone. She's dead." {They have Dharma medical station scrubs on.}
Goodwin comforts Juliet "It's okay. You tried." He tells her to go take off and he'll talk to Ben. Juliet leaves.
Juliet in red shirt is sitting on the rocky area looking out over the water. {Ben looking very similar to what he looked like in the scene with Sawyer looking over at the other island in Every man for himself; complete with his bunny bag of tricks.}
Ben says it was Sabine's choice to get pregnant and she knew she was taking a risk. Juliet thinks 'it' happens at conception, "If that's the case, there's nothing I can do about it. At least not here." The only way to see if she's right would be to take a woman off the island, back to Miami.
Ben-"No. You're not taking anybody off the island."
In that case there's nothing more Juliet can do. Her sister will give birth in three months, "it's time for me to go home." {Oh no! Ben has that look in his eye!} Ben tells her, her sister won't be giving birth in three months; she'll be dead before then because her cancer's back. Ben pulls out a file from his bag of tricks and shows Juliet Rachel's records. {Yes, we can see the electrocardiograph records show, male, 5' 11", 187 lbs, etc. Is he that skilled in the ways of the Jedi, that he can make people believe they're seeing something different on paper, than what's really there? That's fucking Yoda skill!}
Juliet sways on her feet a little. Ben got the file from Mikhail. Juliet is upset, "I could have gone home. I could have been with her!" He tells her she still can, "You can go home, Juliet. Be with her in her final days. Or you can stay here and help me with our problem." If she stays he says "I will cure your sister's cancer."
Juliet wonders, "I'm supposed to take that on faith?"
Ben explains she's been here six months, "You've done extensive workups on all of us. Have you seen even a trace of cancer?"
Juliet-"That's here! And being that you won't let me bring my sister here I'm going to..." Ben cuts her off telling her Jacob said he'd take care of it himself, "Unless of course, you don't have faith in him. Every woman on this island needs you. If you choose to stay, I promise you, we will save Rachel's life."

It is night on the beach/kitchen. Sun questions the motives of trusting Juliet. "She's one of them."
Jack-"Not anymore. They left her behind."
Jack doesn't know where her people went and Juliet doesn't know either.
Sawyer interjects, "Here's an idea. Let's sic our resident Iraqi on her, let him do what he does, then see what she says." {Sic, like a dog} Sayid says no, he doesn't do that anymore. Sawyer states, "Well ain't that convenient?" {That's what I always say!} Sayid doesn't trust her. If she's so innocent, why won't she answer their questions? Jack tells them to give her time, she's afraid. {Bullshit!}
Sayid-"How much time?" {Sound familiar?} Jack says the fact that he trusts her should be enough.
Sayid-"It's not."
Desmond- "Where did Locke go?"
Claire joins the group looking awful. Jacks tells them Locke went with them; right after he destroyed the sub that was gonna take him off this island. Hurley's surprised and shocked to hear that, "What?!"
Sawyer- "They were gonna let you go?"
Jack says yeah.
Sawyer-"Said who?"
Says Ben; whose life Jack saved.
Sawyer-"You should have let that bug eyed bastard die!"
Kate tells him Jack did it for "Us."
Sawyer says it sounds like he did it for him. Kate calls him James in front of everyone. {And NO ONE says anything about her calling him something other than what they know him as! OR do they all know his name is James?!}
Sawyer asks Jack, "Why he's fighting every single one of us and sticking up for one of them?" Jack shares he spent every moment over there trying to find a way off this island, he was trying to help "All of us."
All of a sudden Claire has blood coming from her nose/mouth; she faints! Jack tells Charlie to get her head back and get her up! He asks Charlie how long she's been like this. Charlie tells him since this morning.
Jack-"Before we got back, was she showing any symptoms at all?…Has she been drinking enough water?"
He instructs Charlie to keep her head up. Here comes Juliet! She stands next to Sun and Jin and asks "What happened to her?"
Jin says something in Korean and Juliet asks what he said.
Sun-"He said, what do you care?"  {D'OH! Did Jin understand her question?!}
Juliet runs up to Kate and tells her she needs her help; she needs her to get Jack.
Juliet-"I think I know what's wrong with Claire."
Kate-"Why?"
Juliet is getting emotional, "Because I did it to her."

Kate gets Jack and they talk to Juliet.
Sawyer and Sayid watch them from afar. Sawyer asks Sayid, “That giving you a bad feeling in your stomach?"
Sayid nods yes; Sawyer too.

Juliet informs Jack Claire's immune system is turning on her; she's have a laten reaction to a medication in her blood stream. The medication was designed to keep her alive during the late stages of her pregnancy.
Jack- "Designed by who?"
Designed by Juliet. She explains that for some reason women here can't have babies. The mother's body turns on the pregnancy, treats it as a foreign invader. She saw it happen over and over; every pregnant woman on this island died... Until Claire. {Kate and Sun look at each other} Jack asks what did she do to her. Juliet reveals that one of our people infiltrated your camp and they began taking blood samples right after your plane crashed. {They were able to take blood samples without anyone waking up! That's gotta prove something!} {Flashes of Ethan wearing a hooded sweatshirt, covering Claire's mouth, needle, injection, Shhhh!}
Kate-"Ethan." {Could Kate have seen any of that?}
Juliet goes on that "even though Claire didn't conceive on this island, her symptoms were consistent with previous mothers, so we tried to save her life. {That's an interesting statement.}
Jack-"By kidnapping her?"
Juliet-"No. That wasn't supposed to happen. She was our control case. I had developed a serum that, I thought would reverse what was happening to her. Ethan was administering the injections." {Flash of Hurley running through the jungle with the manifest. "The census. I interviewed everyone. One of them isn't in the manifest. He wasn't on the plane."}

Juliet reveals they realized the Lostie's found out he wasn't on the plane. {Does Juliet have the power of post hypnotic suggestion? Can she talk them into things, just like Ben can?} Juliet tells them, Ethan improvised. {Flash of Charlie and Claire in the jungle and Ethan greets them. Claire looks very sick! Injection bottles, needles, Ethan in OR/Treatment room with Claire, meds refrigerator, the funny shaped log that Claire sat on with Ethan, the Oceanic baby mobile.} Juliet says he kidnapped her on his own, that was never part of the plan. Without those injections Claire would have died. Without the serum, she's going into a form of withdrawal. {Their eye color!} And if she doesn't treat her quickly, her immune system could shut down entirely. She tells Jack, "I can fix this. I just need the serum. Ethan kept a stash of medical supplies near the caves where you used to live. {How would she know that!!! Oh yeah. She knows everything! Cameras.} If I go right now, I can be back before it's too late."
Jack tells her to do it.  {Note that we know CHarlie gave Claire and the baby the pneumatic injector and serum from the latest pallet drop.}
{Flash}
Naked Juliet is eating in bed; but she's in a daze. {There's opera on the radio.}
Goodwin- "Where are you?" He is hanging out with her in the bed. He asks "… Where were you?"
She tells him she "was just realizing that tomorrow she will have been on this island for three years." Goodwin had better bake a cake. {Celebration} There's a knock at the door. X-Rays are delivered to Juliet. {R circles/2 spheres inside} Juliet is troubled looking at them. Goodwin joins her. {Eyes} Juliet informs him, "Karl developed some X-rays for me."
Goodwin-"What’s wrong?"

Juliet walks across the yards of the barracks while people are going about their activities. She is holding a yellow/manila envelope in her right hand. She knocks on the door 2x. Ben, who was at his desk reading, answers the door. {Red cup, Bugs, Love the dragon thingy on top of the bookcase! Clock shows 12:35ish. He has on his Harry Potter glasses.}
Ben was just finishing 'Carrie'; he doesn't understand why she picked it, it's depressing. {The clock shows 9:30ish.}
Juliet comes right out and tells him he has a tumor. When he told her about his back pain, she said she would take some X-rays to see if it was a small fracture or herniated disc. But that's not his problem. {Does he not remember taking X-rays? hehehe} His problem is a large tumor surrounding your L-4 vertebra. Ben checks out the x-ray and seems surprised.
Ben-“You've just told me that I have cancer. Of course I'm surprised."
Juliet-"No. I told you had a tumor."
She accuses him of being scared. Juliet says Ben told her no one on this island ever had cancer, "You told me that! You told me you could fix it! You said that! You told me you cured my sister! You lied to me!"
Ben gets defensive "No. I did not lie to you"
Juliet-"If you can cure cancer Ben, then why do you have it?"
He doesn't know.
Juliet smacks the glass of water out of his hand and demands to talk to her sister. He tells her that's not gonna happen, but promises her Rachel is fine. Juliet yells, "You never cured her! You're a liar! You lied to me!"
Juliet literally has backed him up against the counter/wall. Ben insists he told her the truth. Juliet cries on his shoulder, she wants to go home. She begs him. He's says "No."
Juliet has a meltdown and cries.


Juliet, alone makes her way to a huge tree w/no leaves that has an egg shaped logo on it. {Not the hydra logo we know.}  She gets the black case from under the leaves across from the tree.
She opens the combination pad lock.
Sayid tells her to step away from the case! She was followed by Sawyer and Sayid. Juliet tells them the case is full of medical supplies and that Jack knows all about it.
Sawyer-"Jack ain't here right now. Is he?"
Sawyer opens the case, it does have needles, meds, etc.

Sayid-"You told me earlier that if you told me everything you knew, I'd kill you. I'm here to test the validity of that statement." The boys want her to talk.  They have cleared their schedules so they have all the time in the world.
Juliet goes into manipulation mode {Or is it hypnotic suggestion mode? Eyes.} "You know it's interesting. That you two are now the camp's moral police. I'm curious, Sayid. How long was it till you told everyone on that beach exactly how many people you've tortured in your life? Do they know about Basra? {He sways a little, sure looks hypnotized. He doesn't say anything.}
She turns to Sawyer, "I'm sure the first thing you did when you got here, James, was to gather everyone in a circle and tell them about the man you shot in cold blood the night before you got on the plane. So why don't we just skip the part where you two pretend to be righteous. I'm taking that medication back to Claire and you're gonna let me. Because if she doesn't get it. She's gonna die. And the last thing that either of you need right now is more blood on your hands." She takes the case from a 'blank' Sawyer. {The guys never say anything! Never ask her how she knows that shit! They don't flinch! Why didn't Sayid just kill her?}

The CD player opens and an unmarked/unlabled CD is put in. It plays the song 'Downtown.'   Juliet looks in the mirror. We remember this as the day Oceanic flight 815 arrived on the Island and there is a book club meeting, etc. Everything starts to shake. The book club members head outside. Once outside Juliet seems to be looking around. Ben comes out of his barrack home. We relive Ben giving Ethan and Goodwin 'direction' on what to do with the crash/survivors. {To me it seems like he's giving direction for a scene; scripted. Maybe because I've taken direction from directors and that's pretty much how it is.} After Ben's comment about being out of the book club, Juliet walks away from him. {Eyes} Ben calls her back, "You and I need to talk."
Juliet- "Now?"
Ben- "We have some time. It's important. Take a walk with me."
Ben radios Mikhail- "We're here. He never has his walkie on!" There's something he needs to show her.
Mikhail asks Ben, "Did you see it?"
Ben-"A plane fell out of the sky Mikhail, of course we saw it."
Mikhail shows Ben news footage on monitors telling about the disappearance of Oceanic flight 815. Mikhail speaks specifics. Ben wants detailed files on every single passenger. Mikhail's already working on it. Juliet is still holding/showing her Stephen King book.

Ben asks him to upload to Richard in Acadia Park.  Ben was hurt when Juliet called him a liar yesterday.  He puts on his directors headset and cues Richard. There is a newspaper with today's date, Wednesday, 9/22/04. 
He says, "This is live."
We then see Rachel, appearing healthy playing with a little boy; she's pushing him on a swing. Juliet is cries. Ben tells her a little over two years ago, to everyone's surprise; Rachel's cancer went into complete remission. Shortly after she gave birth to a healthy baby boy; his name is Julian.
Ben says thanks to Richard, "You'll want to get back here as soon as you can. We may have some new visitors."
Juliet is very emotional; she wants to go home. Ben tells her their agreement was for her to stay until her work is finished. Juliet feels it's impossible "The mothers keep dying."
Ben-"Then we'll find more mothers. Who knows? Maybe there's even one on that plane?"

Jack is caring for Claire. Juliet comes to save the day with her case.  Charlie's upset with Jack trusting Juliet. Jack trusts her so he wants Charlie to trust him. Charlie says he trusts him. Juliet gives Claire the injection and tells them they should see results in a few hours.
Jack tells her "If this doesn't work, if something happens to her…I'm not gonna be able to protect you anymore. You'll be on your own"
She’s already on her own.

Charlie and Claire are sleeping; they wake up. Claire asks what happened. Charlie just smiles.

Juliet sits on the beach, alone. Jack brings her a tarp, blankets, pillows; it's enough stuff to get her started. He tells her Claire's awake. She smiles. Everyone says it's okay if she sets up camp.
Jack- "They're good people. They're willing to give you the benefit of the doubt." {I need to talk to them about that!} He also says eventually they're gonna need some answers. She asks him why she never has to explain herself to him.
Jack- "You were there; you were standing right next to me when that submarine exploded. In that moment I saw it in your eyes. You want to get off this island more than anything else in the world. That makes you one of us."
Juliet puts up her tarp. She ties the knot it just like we've seen Sun. {and Danielle do the same.}

We see Ben talking to Juliet, "Let's go over it again."   Juliet knows what to do but he wants to go over it again, just to be sure.
Juliet- "I drag Austen out into the jungle, handcuff myself to her. Then tell her I was gassed. Just like she was."
Ben- "And if she catches you in the lie?"
Juliet will admit to it, "Tell her it was the only way to earn her trust." Then they'll take Juliet back to the beach.
Juliet-"I know you want me to go there. But after everything that we've done to them, it's going to be a problem. Ben says they've activated the implant in Claire; she should be symptomatic within the next 48 hours. {We see Flash of Juliet tie her knot. Jin, Desmond on the beach.} By the time she gets to the camp she'll have a nice big crisis to solve.  Ben informs her Price is already on his way to hide her supplies at Ethan's old drop point, "Tell Jack that you can save her. He trusts you."
Juliet seems zoned out. Ben asks if she's alright. Juliet is fine. He then presents her with a gas mask and {Coffee cup} says "See you in a week." Juliet takes the mask.

One of Us is a Great Episode! We have much to talk about.  But keep in mind, your gonna wanna be asleep for the trip because it can be kind of intense! It's OK because the place they take us to is special.

Was the "Island" not supposed to have life on it?  Or are we talking about creating life "somewhere" else that isn't supposed to be able to make life?


Things to Note…Questions to ask…
* EYE COLOR CHANGES! All of them, even Ben.
* Anagram for TARP is TRAP!
* Anagram for Herarat Avaiation: A Variation Earth or A Variation Heart.
* I've asked this before…Who is Juliet?  Really. How old is she? How about Ethan? He must be around for a really long time. Maybe all the scientists/doctors/researchers of the "Island" have been around a really long time. That would include Arzt.
* The hidden away Airport, Herarat Aviation.   The customer "line" ques look like a descending Whale Tail.
* Guarding a gate. Security. Surveillance. Protection.
* "A little over two years ago Rachel's cancer went into complete remission. Shortly after she gave birth to a healthy baby boy."   Juliet tells Jack she's been there for over three years. It's supposed to be 9/22/04. We were led to believe Rachel got preggers before Juliet left Miami!
* Ben knows everything. Is it possible that Ben plans everything or just knows the plan for everything?
* Could Juliet be responsible for blowing anything up
* Are they all just 'case' studies? Control cases?
* Time flies when you're on the "Island".  Or does it really go slower?  I'm sure time doesn't even matter.
* Sleep. Tranquilizer. Clonazepam is a sedative. Depressing. Hypnosis. Implant.
* That submarine. Is that the "official" transport to the  "Island"?  Prop?  By the way, they supposedly left from an airport, so at what point did they transport unconscious Juliet to a sub?
* Tube…. Could that be a tube, as in "travel?" Or Tube Tracking? Is that how everyone is being tracked?
* Karl developed the x-rays. {Interesting}
* There seems to always be a beach reunion!
* Bug. Bug eyed. {Invertebrates? Is that reaching too far, even for me? hehehe}
* Design...Medication…Fertility…Conception…Baby...Create...Bring life.   What has been "designed" on the "Island" really?..
* Plane crash day 9/22/04. I can't help but keep in mind that there is Oceanic plane wreckage already inside the cave. Let's not forget that!
* Coffee. We need to add tea to that list! In the Himalayas, there is Hindu religion, culture. They grow tea. Say Namaste, etc..
* 3- PAST. PRESENT. FUTURE. Birth, Life, Death.
* How does Juliet know details about Sawyer and Sayid? Not only about their lives but details about the day/night before their arrival there? How would she know Sawyer killed someone? Is it because these events happened already? And/or they are scripted/written scenarios for the tests/quests/roles each person is to experience?   So that leads me to this question again…Are events in the Flashes or the "Island" real? Nope!   Drugged up, yes.. In addition could we be witnessing some sort of post hypnotic suggestion technique going on?  Are they using a song, prop, word, phrase or even a picture, something meant to trigger a manipulated memory/memory?   Hypnosis to go along with the hallucinations.  It could be. This is some friggin game!
* I think by now it's pretty obvious we see at least two versions of things. Shoes off, shoes on, etc. Different times on the clock in Ben's house. There's a lot more to add to the list of differences. WAIT! It doesn't end there!.....Ben's tumor is at his L-4 vertebra.  That's lumbar vertebra. Yet when Jack's in the hydra being held in the glass cell, he asks Ben about his neck. Those would be Cervical vertebra! C3-C6. Is there really a tumor at all? Spine, Spinal surgeon, vertebra…
* Walk, walkie, "walking" stick…Guess what? Human walking is accomplished with a strategy called the double pendulum. Walking is the main form of animal locomotion on land.
* A walking stick is a bug. Aaahhh! OH DAMN IT!
* Clues to Head- Could the reference to head be about "Head Hunters"?  What about an injury to the head?  Manipulating what's going on in the head?   Just plain ol messing with their head?   Things are taking place in their HEADS.
* "...let me off the island".  So it seems as if Jack and the gang are not allowed to leave freely; they have to be on the "island".

* What if we have a few "Islands" here?  Okay, maybe "Islands", maybe hidden facilities, or even off shore facilities/freighters.  Nonetheless, these would be the equivalent of layers or levels in the story/game.



Vocabulary and Research...
* One of Us is a novel. By Michael Marshal Smith. The plot centers on a small time ne'er-do-well, ex barman who has found a lucrative line as a REM temp taking care of people's unwanted dreams and memories. However when he finds himself burdened with a memory of a murder he is forced to find the real culprit and face up to his own past mistakes.
* Them! a sci-fi film about giant ants.
* THEM(Marvel universe), a fictional terrorist organization. Also, a gang of villains from the Wonder Woman comic.
* THEM: Adventures with Extremists is a book by Ronson. The book accompanied Ronson's documentary series Secret Rulers of the World.

A beautiful surreal "Island".  Tranquilizers, strapping people in Santa Rosa…If I didn't know that my research revealed some pretty important "Big Game" shit, this would all look like one big giant supervised drug trip or mass hallucination by a bunch of mental ward patients and convicts!  But no matter what, this is a very important journey.

For fun I imagine there's an old box somewhere, and in it are photographs and documents of the "Island" residents through the years…Maybe even through the centuries. Good times!
