LET'S TALK ABOUT LOST! Missing Pieces 8. Buried Secrets.
{Jin is with a fishing pole. Sun is watching him from the jungle greens. She heads into the jungle where she stops to look at a California driver's license and starts to dig a hole to bury it; first with a stick and then with her hands. Michael comes running by looking for Vincent.}
NOTE: Sun is wearing a dark hooded sweater.
MICHAEL- "Vincent! Vincent! Oh, hey I'm sorry. I was looking for Vincent. I didn't mean to scare you. You okay?" { He sees that she's upset.}
SUN- "Yes, I'm, I'm fine. I just, I just needed a moment by myself."
MICHAEL- "Hey, you sure you're okay? {Sun looks down. So Michael looks down too. He sees her license on the ground and picks it up.}
SUN-{crying} "I was, this is... "
MICHAEL- "No, no, no, you don't have to explain." {He hands the license to her. She takes it with both hands.}
SUN- "I was going to leave him. I was going to leave Jin, and start a new life in America. But I changed my mind at the airport because I was afraid."
MICHAEL- "Hey, hey, it's, it's, it's okay. {He holds her hands.} We're getting off this island any day now. Things will change."
SUN- "No. It's too late. This place. It's my punishment. It's my destiny."
MICHAEL- "No... Maybe you should talk to him."
SUN- "He's not the man I fell in love with." {Michael tenderly hugs her.}
MICHAEL- "Maybe he just needs a little time. It's been hard on all of us. It's okay. It'll be okay."
{They pull away from each other then stare at each other. Michael's hand touches her hair and face. They lean in to kiss, but before they do, Vincent comes up and barks, interrupting them and they back away.}
SUN- "I must go. I'm sorry." {Sun runs away.}
MICHAEL- "Uh... {Watches her leave.} Come here, Vincent. Come on." {Vincent has a collar on.}
Great Mobisode! Here's just a few things to note.
* Where in the puzzle exactly does this piece fit??? What time frame is this from?
* How friggin long have I been saying that there is some sort of connection between Sun and Michael? Come on! Go back to my notes from season 1 and 2. Why these two people?
* Vincent! The damn dog is always at the right place at the right time! Where does he go when he's gone? Hmmm? What else can this super dog do? Morph?! He is Amazing! Woof, Woof!! That's all I'm sayin!!!
* Sun is wearing a dark hooded sweater.
* Clue to New I.D.! We usually see clues to NO I.D.. We do see changes in Castaway's I.D.'s through the episodes. Some shows us different versions of their names, date of birth, hair styles, eye color, etc.. So, who are these people, REALLY?
* Can Sun really drive a car? I'm just wondering. LOL
* Both Jin and Sun have said they feel that they are being punished and that's why they are on the "Island".
* Jin tells Jae to start a new life.
* Sun and Locke feel the "Island" is their destiny.
* "He is not the man..." That's SO important! People changing.
* Sun and a connection to yet another man. Why?
* It is time to start addressing TIME! Time on the "Island"... Is time different there? Does time run faster or slower there? Maybe there is NO concept of time at all there. Is this "Island" exempt from "TIME"?
Vocabulary and Research...
* To license or grant license is to give permission. License is the document demonstrating that permission.
* Vincent is a forename derived from the Latin "Vincentius" related to the word "vincens",winning ", "conquering", or "seductive"
Now I must reveal how big of a nerd I really am! My Geekness will truly show through! The following is a very short lesson in "TIME".
There are two distinct views on the meaning of the word time.
One view is that time is part of the fundamental structure of the universe, a dimension in which events occur in sequence, and time itself is something that can be measured. This is the realist's view, to which Sir Isaac Newton subscribed.
An opposing view is that time is part of the fundamental human intellectual structure (together with space and number) within which we sequence events, quantify the duration of events and the intervals between them, and compare the motions of objects. In this second view, time does not refer to any kind of entity that "flows", that objects "move through", or that is a "container" for events. Time, rather than being an objective thing to be measured, is part of the measuring system used by humans.
The origins of the current measurement system go back to the Sumerian civilization of approximately 2000 BC. This is known as the sexagesimal system based on the number 60. 60 seconds in a minute, 60 minutes in an hour – and possibly a calendar with 360 (60x6) days in a year (with a few more days added on). Twelve also features prominently, with roughly 12 hours of day and 12 of night, and 12 months in a year.
Another form of time measurement consists of studying the past. Events in the past can be ordered in a sequence (creating a chronology), and be put into chronological groups (periodization).
Incan, Mayan, Hopi, and other Native American Tribes, plus the Babylonian, Ancient Greek, Hindu, Buddhist, Jainist, and others have a concept of a wheel of time, that regards time as cyclical and quantic consisting of repeating ages that happen to every being of the Universe between birth and extinction.
Spacetime: Modern physics views the curvature of spacetime around an object as much a feature of that object as are its mass and volume. Time has historically been closely related with space, the two together comprising spacetime in Einstein's special relativity and general relativity. According to these theories, the concept of time depends on the spatial reference frame of the observer(s), and the human perception as well as the measurement by instruments such as clocks are different for observers in relative motion. Even the temporal order of events can change, but the past and future are defined by the backward and forward light cones. which never change. The past is the set of events that can send light signals to the observer, the future the events to which s/he can send light signals. All else is the present and within that set of events the very time-order differs for different observers.
Arrow of Time: Time appears to have a direction – the past lies behind, fixed and incommutable, while the future lies ahead and is not necessarily fixed. Yet the majority of the laws of physics don't provide this arrow of time. The exceptions include the Second law of thermodynamics, which states that entropy must increase over time, the cosmological arrow of time, which points away from the Big Bang, and the radiative arrow of time, caused by light, only traveling forwards in time. In particle physics, there is also the weak arrow of time, from CPT symmetry, and also measurement in quantum mechanics
Time quanta is a hypothetical concept. In the modern quantum theory (the Standard Model of particle physics) and in general relativity time is not quantized. Time travel is the concept of moving backward or forward to different points in time, in a manner analogous to moving through space. Additionally, some interpretations of time travel take the form of travel between parallel realities or universes. A central problem with time travel is that of logic – say, violation of causality (when effect precedes the cause it is the consequence of) – which has given rise to a number of paradoxes (see grandfather paradox)Stephen Hawking in particular has address ed a connection between time and the Big Bang. Hawking, in A Brief History of Time and elsewhere, along with several other modern physicists, has stated that even if time did not begin with the Big Bang and there were another time frame before the Big Bang, no information from events then would be accessible to us, and nothing that happened then would have any effect upon the present time-frame.
WOW!!! Buried Secrets. Time is man-made. Only humans are slave to time, i.e. clocks and calendars etc.. What the hell is the deal with "time" on the "Island"? Do the people of the "Island" believe as the ancient cultures did about "time"?
Are they in a LOOP? Yep.
Would they ever be able to escape this loop? Could "time travel" be possible? Did someone find a way to "time travel" to the "Island". If so, can events be changed? Is time travel even part of the story? In reality if time travel were really possible then it would have always been possible.
So...We can talk about time/travel, but is that really what's going on here? I think things we are seeing aren't really what's going on!
Be careful...Could we being mis-led?! Remember, Illusion, Tricks and Manipulation!
What other secrets are buried on the "Island"? We know that secrets don't stay buried forever.
Love to all who are "LOST"™

Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right! The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either! You all know I hate spoilers! And I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Understood? Good! Let the fun begin! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance! It will get very exciting as we progress into the story
