PLEASE KEEP IN MIND the following notes were posted over at MySpace July 29, 2007. I'm just moving all my older notes over here to keep all the notes together.
Hi Losties!
A little side-bar from the episode notes is needed here!
Well, well, well....We all are trying to figure out this new clue to our puzzle!
Station 6- ORCHID!
Many of you wanted my thoughts on what I think is going on here. Again, do I need to say the following are just my thoughts...
We have NO information to go on, so how do we start an investigation?
Well, with the word ORCHID.
The word ORCHID is GREEK in origin. (There's a Greek clue again.) it means testicle. Yep, that's what it means.
As I looked into the Orchid I found it a very interesting flower. Interesting REPRODUCTIVE aspects. Also most orchids are HYBRIDS.
The word HYBRID means: Offspring of genetically differing parents.
Now, with only those few clues {if they are really clues at all} and knowing that the film says it's not about plants/flowers, etc...Could it be it's about "creating" a "hybrid person"?
How about other things concerning "reproduction" like "twins".
But like I said, we have NOTHING to go on yet, so to say I'm on the right track would be very premature. I don't even know if I've pulled the right clues out of my starting point.
We all know...Let's say it all together..."I COULD BE VERY WRONG!" LOL!
It may also have something to do {I believe a hint} with "Time Travel" and "Teleportation",...or maybe duplication and regenerating the dead for all we know! Mwahaha!!
Another wonderful piece of our puzzle and I can't wait to figure out what it really means.

Love to all who are "LOST"™
I've included the clip from that Comic Con which contains "language" some may be offended by. {I don't know who the originator of this clip is, and I'd like to give proper credit...So, thank you mystery video person!}
Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right! The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either! You all know I hate spoilers! And I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode; we all know what they are. Understood? Let the fun begin! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance.

Some Like it Hoth.
Let's talk about LOST! Some Like it Hoth.

{Click the pics!}
3:16 is the time on the old microwave.
The landlord tells the woman, “It’s a steal at 400."
The woman looks around the apartment. She doesn’t have to check with her husband because it’s just her. A little boy shows up in the doorway and asks mommy for a quarter for the vending machine.
Mom-“Honey. I said wait for me by the pool.”
The landlord questions her about her, "It's just me" answer. She really meant that her husband is out of the picture, it’s just her and her son; who she claims in quiet. Apparently most of the tenants don’t like noise. {Apt 7}
The landlord will need two months up front.
Mom gives her son a coin and the boy runs off.
Mom- “No running. You hear me Miles.”
Mom asks Miles what he was doing in there.
Upset Miles tells her, “He, he was all alone. He was scared. His chest hurt. He kept calling out for Kimberly.”
The landlord reveals Kimberly is Mr. Vonner’s wife; who died last year. The landlord wants to know how Miles would have known that.
Miles- “I heard him.” {Note the landlord wearing a dark hooded sweat jacket.}
Mom shakes him, wants to know what he’s talking about.
Miles- “He’s still talking right now.”
Mom tells her honey, “He’s dead."
Miles yells while looking at the dead man, “I told you…I can hear him! I can hear him!”
Miles covers his ears. {We’ve seen Hurley do this a lot!}
In Dharmaville, Miles reads the 1977 issue of Sports Illustrated. {23. New boss in L.A..}
LaFleur radios Miles, tells him to pick up. He will fill him in on where he’s been later, but right now he needs Miles to accidentally erase the security tapes from the pylon camera feeds.
Miles wonders why.
LaFleur ain’t got time for questions.
LaFleur enters numbers on the keypad for the sonar fence.
Absent minded Miles asks, “Which ones?”
Jim has Miles look on his monitors, “See us?”
Yep! Miles confirms their on number four and asks what the hell Kate is doing out there.
Jim commands, “Just erase number four! And if anyone asks, I’m off the grid. I’m lookin for the escaped Hostile.”
Miles- “You mean your pal, Sayid.”
Jim is mad, “Damn it, Miles…You gonna help me or not?”
Yeah, Miles got it. Jim will owe him one.
Jim tells Kate to go back and find Juliet, ”See if anyone’s noticed yet if little Ben’s gone missing.” When the rest find out, he’s gonna have to do his best to cover it up, “In case you haven’t noticed, I’m head of security.”
He’ll see her back there.
Miles ejects the tape for monitor 4.
Horace comes in looking for Jim. Miles tells him he’s out looking for the escaped prisoner. Miles seems a bit distracted and mentions he tried to reach Jim on his walkie, “but he must be out of range.”
Horace is disappointed, “Then it’s gonna have to be you. Jim already knows about this, but I’m gonna bring you into the circle of trust. Can I trust you, Miles?”
Absolutely he can and that pleases Horace.
Horace presents Miles with a dark/black package. He needs him to bring it to Radzinski at grid 334, “He’s gonna give you something in return, I want you to bring it back to me with no questions asked. You understand?”
Yep, he does.
Horace walks over to the desk and Miles comments that, “We’re not supposed to be in 3 3 4. Isn’t that Hostile territory?”
Horace- “Welcome to the circle of trust.”
Right-O! Miles heads out, never taking the monitor tape with him.
Miles drives the Dharma van down a dirt road through the jungle. Out of the bushes jumps Radzinski and his rifle, “Stop right there!” {He’s wearing a Blue Swan logo jumpsuit.}
Radzinski wants to know what Miles is doing out there, “I was expecting La Fleur.”
Miles explains LaFleur’s busy, and he’s now in the circle of trust. Miles gives Radzinski the package.
Radzinski whistles {like for a dog} and two workers wearing hard hats, bring over a dead man on a stretcher. {I believe this is not the same guy we've seen in the past.} Radzinski unravels the bag, revealing its true identity; a body bag.
The dead man has a hole in his head. {Blood near mouth.}
Miles asks what happened.
Radzinski says he had an accident, “He fell into a ditch.”
Miles asks if that’s a bullet hole in his head, {There’s a quick motion hand gesture to his own mouth} “The ditch had a gun?”
Annoyed Radzinski tells Miles it doesn’t matter what happened to him, “because knowing that is not your job. Your job is to do what I tell you to.”
The men load the body bag into the back of the van and Radzinski instructs Miles to take “him/the body” back to Horace.
Once the men are out of sight, Miles opens the body bag, whispers, asking the dead dude, “Okay. So what really happened?” {Less blood on the guys face now.}
Miles, looking very {Flock of Seagulls 1980’s. He has piercings. Hair is black with white ‘skunk’ stripes} knocks on door number 7. His plaid jacket shows us an upside down number 1.
A caregiver opens the door.
Miles- “I need to see her.”
His mom is very sick. In her room are meds, IV’s, oxygen machines, she’s lost a lot of her hair and she’s very weak.
Miles wakes up his sleeping mom; he is very emotional. He apologizes for not being able to “make it by sooner.”
Mom- “It’s Okay. You’re here now. Why did you come, Miles?”
Miles- “I need you to tell me why I’m this way. How I do the things I do. And I need to know why you won’t talk to me about my father.”
Mom tells him his father never cared about them. But Miles needs to know where he is. Mom feels it doesn’t matter.
Miles- “It does matter...”
Miles feels he has a right to know.
Mom blurts out, “He’s dead.”
Miles lets go of her hands as if in disbelief. Mom continues her story about dad kicking them out when Miles was just a baby, “He didn’t want anything to do with us. So the less you knew about him… the better.”
With tears in his eyes, he wants to know why she didn’t just tell him.
Mom- “Because it was over. Your dad has been dead for a long time.”
Miles’ wheels are turning, “Where’s his body?”
Mom looks angry, “Somewhere you can never go.” {Like over the fucking rainbow?!}
Dharma Miles runs down stairs in to the Security Station.
Horace {eyeglasses are tinted} is on the phone with Pierre.
Horace-“Pierre, if it was caused by the electromagnetism we need to know…You want to see it now?... {The dead body or Miles?}….Yeah, he just got back. I’ll send him out with it right away. Okay.”
Horace slams the phone down and asks Miles, “Did you bring the package?”
Miles-“Package. You mean the corpse.” Yep.
Horace-“Now I need you to bring it out to Dr, Cheng at the Orchid.”
Horace looks through a Dharma binder.
Miles is a bit freaked, “Listen, man. I’m security. If you just need somebody to drive the van, can’t someone from the motor pool do it?”
If Horace wanted someone from the motor pool he would have asked them, “And since Le Fleur decided to disappear, you’re all I’ve got. So just bring it out to Dr, Cheng and we’ll all call it a day. Okay?”
Miles heads out on his task.
Hurley opens the back of Miles’ Dharma van to load in two silver coolers. Hurley tells Miles he just signed the van out but it really doesn’t matter, it’s Miles’.
Miles removes a cooler. Hurley asks where Miles is going, all the while still loading his coolers in. Miles reveals he’s going to the Orchid and coincidentally so is Hurley. He made lunch/sandwiches for the crew; Ham and cheese, he even made his secret garlic mayo. {Vampires again. lol!!!}
Miles tells Hurley, “You’re waiting for the next van.“
Hurley- “Why? We’re going to the same place. Why don’t’ we carpool? It will help with global warming. Which hasn’t happened yet, so maybe we can prevent it.”
After a few seconds Hurley asks Miles if he’s on some kind of secret mission.
Miles tells Hurley to just get in the van and closes the rear hatch door of the van.
Juliet opens the cabinet doors to put away supplies. Kate comes in to tell her they gave Ben to ‘them’, the Others.
Juliet asks if anyone saw her. Kate doesn’t think so.
Juliet- “Did James help?”
Kate says yes, and thanks her for sending him.
Roger bursts in; hurrying with the medical supplies Juliet requested he retrieve from the Medical Station. He got there as soon as he could; all the vans were out so he had to run. He sees that Ben is missing and asks Juliet if Ben is…. Nope, he’s not. {There are no other patients in the room, but there way last episode}
Juliet apologizes, “I was gone for 10 minutes…I don’t know.”
Roger is upset, “You said he was dying. How could he be gone?”
Roger asks Kate, “What is she telling me, that he just got up and walked out? You’re his Doctors, you’re supposed to watch him!”
He’s freaking out and Juliet wants them to calm down.
Roger-“Don’t tell me to calm down! Somebody came and took my boy out of here?”
He’s going to security! He storms out, knocking down a tray of medical instruments.
Juliet looks at Kate, “Well…Here we go.”
The song It Never Rains in California {Got on board a west bound 747.} plays while Miles and Hurley drive out to The Orchid. Hurley is writing in his Dharma issued “school” black and white composition note book. Hurley asks Miles how to spell Bounty Hunter.
Miles- “What? Are you writing your memoirs?”
Hurley tells him it’s personal. Then Hurley catches the smell of something bad. They try to figure out why there’s a foul smell in the van. Miles tells him to roll down his window. {Miles doesn’t smell it?} The smell is coming from “back there.”
Miles-“Maybe it’s your famous garlic mayo?”
Hurley tells Miles to pull over, “I gotta check.”
Miles-“Forget it. You’re imagining things.”
Concerned Hurley has to check; if those sandwiches are bad, people can get sick. He demands Miles pull over.
Hurley discovers the dead dude in the body bag. Of course Miles explains that traditionally a body is what is put in a body bag. He asks Miles, “Who is he? What happened?”
Miles tells him not to worry about it and don’t tell anybody you saw him.
Hurley asks again, what happened to him.
Miles reveals, “His names. Alvarez. He was digging a hole and thinking about some chick Andrea. Then he felt this sharp pain in his mouth, which turned out to be a filling from his tooth being yanked right out of its socket and blowing through his brain. Then he was dead.”
Hurley questions how a filling gets blown through someone’s head?
Miles-“You got me.”
Hurley wonders how he knows all this.
Miles-“Because. I know.”
Hurley asks how he knew what the dude was thinking.
Miles-“I just know.”
Hurley states, “You can talk to dead people.”
Miles doesn’t answer. Hurley tells him not to worry, “Your secrets safe with me.”
The reason...Hurley reveals he can talk to them too.
Miles sits in the backyard of Mr. Gray. {Note laundry on the line. Similar red plaid shirt that I’ve seen worn by Pierre, Frogurt and Sawyer. Miles is wearing a shark on his shirt.}
Miles is trying to communicate with Mr. Gray’s dead son, who was killed last Labor Day weekend; a drunk driver ran the light. {Framed photo. Football. Number 59.}
Miles asks where his son is buried.
Mr. Gray shares they cremated him; scattered the ashes on the football field at school. Miles informs him that for what he does, it’s much better if there’s a body.
Mr. Gray-“But your ad said that you could communicate with dead any time, anywhere.”
Miles knows what his ad says. But Mr. Gray is desperate to know, “Did he know that I loved him.”
Okay.
Miles-“It’s gonna cost extra.” {Watch Miles. He knows he’s conning this guy} Mr. Gray pays him more cash.
Miles asks Mr. Gray for his hands and asks him to concentrate on Russell, "Get a picture of him in your head.”
Miles goes through his “communication contact” mumbo jumbo. Mr. Gray asks if it worked.
Miles-“Your son says he knew that you loved him. He always knew.”
Mr. Gray breathes a sigh of relief and thanks Miles.
Miles-I’m sorry for your loss.”
He takes his suitcase and leaves Mr. Gray looking at the picture of Russell.

Miles puts his suitcase in the trunk of his car.
Naomi Dorritt introduces herself to him, says her employer’s been following his work for some time now and is interested in retaining his rather unique services. “There’s a restaurant not too far from here. Would you like to hear what I have to say?”
He sure does.
She leads the way, but he looks at her card, then at her and he looks very confused. {I thought he didn’t meet her until the freighter! More Lies?}
Dharmaville:
We’re shown two swing sets!
Roger sits on a swing drinking. Kate asks Roger if he’s OK.
Roger-“Let me see…Well, my son got shot and now he’s disappeared so, I think I’m pretty far from OK.”
Kate tells him she’s sure things are gonna work out. He gives her a beer, “Well, thanks for the pep talk.”
Kate-“I just have a feeling he’s gonna be OK.”
This comment sends up a red flag with Roger-“What do you mean a feeling?”
Kate feels he shouldn’t give up hope.
Roger-“Do you know something?...Do you know what happened to my son…”
Kate says no.
Roger gets defensive and asks why she is so interested in his kid. Kate apologizes for coming over, she was just trying to help.
Roger-“You wanna help, Kate! Why don’t you just mind your own business.”
Kate walks away. {Tisk, tisk, Kate. What did you do? Lol}
The song Love Will Keep Us Together is heard while Hurley and Miles drive in the Dharma van. Hurley is writing in his notebook. He doesn’t know why Miles won’t just admit it and trust him, “I talk to lots of dead people.”
Miles asks, “So you have conversations with them, like they’re your pals?"
Hurley shares not only do they talk, but sometimes they play chess.
Miles-“You actually see them?”
Hurley-“Of course. Why wouldn’t I?"
Miles tells him, that’s not how it works.
Hurley-“AH HA! You wouldn’t know how it works unless you CAN do it.“
Miles confesses what he can do “has nothing to do with chatting with ghosts. You nitwit. It’s a feeling. A sense. When somebody’s dead, their brain stops functioning, which means there’s no more talking. There’s just who they were and whatever they knew before they died.”
Hurley’s unimpressed, “That’s how it works for me.”
Thrilled Miles is happy for Hurley. Hurley, with his nose in his notebook, remarks, “You’re just jealous my power’s better than yours.”
Miles- “We’re here. Now shut the hell up and deliver your damn sandwiches.”
They arrive at the very busy and loud construction site of The Orchid. {Concrete framed building.You can hear some guy yell something about ‘we’re ready for him.’}
Miles looks around and Notes Dr. Cheng. {Wearing a Swan Dr. blazer}
They unload the silver coolers.
Cheng asks Miles, “What’s he doing here?”
Miles tells him he came to deliver lunch to the work crew.
Cheng-“Lunch. Your instructions were to come alone."
Hurley tells Cheng not to worry; he won’t tell anyone about the body.
Miles apologizes to Cheng,“I’m sorry sir. He was rooting around in the back and he saw it.”
Hurley assures him not to worry; he can keep a secret. Cheng tells him he better! If Hurley thinks working in the kitchen is bad…Hurley tells him he likes the kitchen.
Cheng continues, “Well how do you feel about Polar Bear feces. Because if you breathe one word of this I’ll have you shipped to Hydra Island so you can weigh turds for their ridiculous experiments.”
Cheng order two men to bring the package inside. {One of the men says something like, “What the hell’s he got, Jimmy Hoffa in here?”}
Cheng tells Miles and Hurley to wait there until he gets back. {To me it feels like Miles and Pierre are aware of who they are, because Cheng is talking like a dad to his son.}
Hurley feels Cheng is a total douche.
Miles admits Cheng is his father. We see Cheng yelling at a worker.
A red light can be seen.
Miles and Naomi {with flashlight} enter the back of a restaurant’s kitchen.
Miles-“You did say you were taking me out to dinner.”
Naomi corrects him saying she was taking him to a restaurant.
Miles-“You mind telling me what’s back here, Sweetheart.”
Naomi replies, “Your audition.”
She leads him to a bagged dead guy on a table. {In front of a big oven.} Whatever she has going on here, it isn’t really Miles’ thing. Naomi understands that if the price is right, it’s exactly his thing. She tosses a wad of cash at him.
Naomi-“What can you tell me about this man?”
Miles puts the money in his blazer pocket and walks over to the corpse.
Miles closes his eyes; goes into “listening” mode. The Intel retrieved is: His name is Felix; he was on his way to deliver something {bunch of papers, photos, pictures of empty graves, purchase order for an old airplane} to a guy named Widmore. Miles looks confused.
Naomi zips up the bag.
Miles asks if he passed.
Naomi is leading an expedition to an Island, and on the Island is a man that will be very difficult to find. That’s why she needs Miles.
Miles-“Need me for what?” {Why would he ask that question? Isn’t it obvious why she brought him there?}
Naomi shares the Island has a number of deceased individuals residing on it, and as this man is the one responsible for them being deceased, we believe they can supply invaluable information as to his whereabouts. Miles tells her as much as hunting down a mass murderer sounds really safe, he’s gonna pass. Miles thanks her for the audition. Naomi informs him her employer is willing to pay him $1.6 million dollars.
Miles has an instant change of heart, “When do we leave?”
Miles and Hurley wait by the Dharma van. Hurley starts a conversation about Miles’ dad, but Miles doesn’t want to talk about it.
Hurley-“Are you kidding me? How weird is it that your dad is that dude from all those movies. Only back then he was called Marvin Candle, was that like a stage name?”
Sarcastic Miles asks him what part of ‘I don’t’ wanna talk about it isn’t sinking in?’
Hurley questions if Miles didn’t want to talk about it, why he told him. Hurley continues the conversation anyway, “How long have you known he was your dad?"
Miles found out on the third day they were “here”, he was on line at the cafeteria and his mother got in line behind him. “That was my first clue.”
As Hurley eats a sandwich he tells Miles all the Dharma dudes end up dead. Doesn’t he want to save them?
Miles can’t save them, they’re gonna get killed no matter what he does; so why bother? Cheng needs Miles to take him to Radzinski over at the work site immediately. Cheng says to Hurley if he says “a word…”
Hurley knows, “Polar Bear poop. Got it!”
Miles asks Cheng what happened to the body.
Cheng, without missing a beat says, “What body?”
Jack erases the black board in the Dharma school room. {Note lesson on Egyptian language/symbols}
Drunk Roger comes in ready to clean the room that is on his rounds {Note Arts and Crafts, imagination- I can’t help but remember missing pieces Arzt and Crafts.}
Jack tells him he heard what happened to his son, wanted to cover for him.
Roger-“Which part? That he got shot, or that someone kidnapped him from the infirmary?”
Jack is surprised to see him there at work under the circumstances. What else is Roger gonna do, “Sit around and pray those idiots are gonna find my boy. So you can get out of here.”
Roger kicks the bucket.
Then Roger mentions Kate to Jack. He asks if Jack knows her at all; because she’s got some kind of weird thing for his kid. He tells Jack she showed up in the infirmary and gave blood, they when the kid went missing, Kate said not to worry, “He’s gonna be okay.”
Roger is beginning to feel that Kate has something to do with this, “I should go to Horace. Report her. What do you think?”
Jack, who listened carefully to everything Roger had to say, tries to get Roger to think his thought process is due to him having a hell of a day. That it's given him an excuse to go get drunk, “Maybe that’s put some crazy ideas in your head.”
Jack goes on to tell spaced out Roger that he know Kate, she’s his friend and she’d never do anything to hurt “your son.”
Drunk Roger’s only reply is “Sure.”
Jack intimidated Roger to leave.
Miles drives the van while Cheng sits in the passenger seat; Everyone is quiet. Hurley breaks the silence by telling Cheng that he’s new here and asks him what exactly he does do at the Orchid. Cheng reveals that’s classified; he can’t even tell his wife or his three month old son. {Note Hurley asks about kids, not kid.}
Hurley purposely makes a big to-do about it being a small world and that Cheng’s son also being named Miles. {Wow! Let's sing John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt, His name is my name too. Lol} Hurley inquires about Cheng being into Jazz {Miles Davis}.
Cheng is not into Jazz, his wife is and he likes country.
Miles gives him a “look” -like “are you kidding me?!. Lol
Hurley continues to steer the conversation by mentioning those two men have been there for three years, they must be pretty tight. {Watch the looks by Cheng and Miles}
Miles-“Dr. Cheng and I don’t exactly travel in the same circles.”
Cheng wasn’t aware there were circles.
Hurley-“Great! We should all get together for a beer sometime. How awesome would that be?” Cheng tells Miles to stop here.
Cheng gets out and walks up to a wall of ivy.
He pushes open the “fake” wall to reveal the hidden work site. {The greenery sounds like it's on a chain link fence.} They drive down to the noisy construction site. {It's at the concrete stage.}
Cheng tells the guys they don’t have to wait; he’ll get a ride back with Radzinki. Hurley asks what this place is and what’s up with all the secrecy.
Miles doesn’t know and doesn't care.
Hurley spots a Dharma worker with the “hatch” lid. They are imprinting the serial/marking “numbers” on it.
Glen calls out the numbers one by one. “4 8 15 16 23…(he can’t read the smudged last number.
Hurley says it , 42”
Cheng walks by carrying rods. {Is he gonna perform a lobotomy?!}
Miles asks how he knew that.
Hurley-“They’re building our hatch.”
Miles-“What hatch?”
Hurley-“The one that crashed our plane.”
Miles buys food from La Vida taco stand. {La Vida=LIFE}
A black van pulls up next to him as he walks down the street. The passenger says hello to Miles, as if he knows him. Black Hooded guys with white 'surgical' masks abduct Miles and throw him in the van.
The passenger introduces himself as Bram. {He is on the Ajira flight. Note his use of hand gesture.}
Miles tells Bram he owes him a fish taco.
Bram-“Sorry about that but your apartment’s being watched. And we had to try our best to talk you out of working for Charles Widmore.”
Miles doesn’t know who that is. Happy Bram shares with Miles, Widmore is “the man who chartered the boat you’ll be getting on next week. And my friend, you do not wanna get on that boat. Do you know what lies in the shadow of the statue?”
Miles doesn’t know.
Bram-“Then you’re not ready to go to that Island. But if you come with us, all those things you spent your life trying to find out, you’ll know…You’ll know who you are, Miles. Why it is you have a gift. And most of all, you’ll know about your father. ”
Miles-“I don’t know where you’ve been getting your Intel, but I stopped caring about my father a long time ago. What I do care about is money….You want me to pass on going to the Island it’s gonna cost you double what they offered. $3.2 million.”
Bram tells him they’re not paying him anything, “All the money in the world isn’t gonna fill that empty hole inside you, Miles.”
Miles-“It’s sad isn’t it?”
Bram tells the thugs to “toss him.”
They toss Miles out of the van and Bram tells him, “You’re playing for the wrong team.”
Miles asks what team Bram is on.
Bram is on the team that’s gonna win.
We see the van speed away via the chain link fence.
Night:
Miles drives the Dharma van back.
Hurley still writing, his nose in his notebook, tells Miles, "The hatch they're building...there's gonna be an accident. Then they're gonna have to build a computer with a button you have to push, so the world doesn't end."
Miles scoffs at Hurley's statement.
Hurley asks Miles if his dad's around, "You know...when we came from...the future."
Miles says no. Hurley feels then this is kinda awesome.
Miles freaks, "How is it awesome?!"
Hurley feels because Miles gets to hang out with him, get to know him better. "And don't bother thanking me...But he was totally down for that beer, dude. You know, maybe he'll let you hold baby you or you can change your own diaper or..."
Miles slams on the brakes! Miles wants Hurley to listen up, "Cause we're only gonna have this conversation once, OK? I don't wanna hang out with my dad. I don't wanna know him better, and stuff."
Hurley asks why not, did he his dad beat him up when he was little or something.
Miles shares, "He wasn't even around when I was little, you dimwit! I never knew him until now. Why am I even telling you this?"
Hurley- "Because you're in pain and you need to let it out."
Miles-"I'm not in pain. It doesn't matter. My father is dead. He's gone. He never... cared about me, and nothing I can do, will ever change that."
Hurley tells him he's not gone, "We just dropped him off."
Ticked off Miles feels Hurley wants to get into his business, so he'll get into his.
Miles flips through the pages of Hurley's notebook; he called it a diary. They get out of the van. Hurley wants it back, and it's not a diary.
Miles-"Let's find out what's going on in that piece of granite you call a head!"
Miles reads bits off the pages: "Exterior Hoth, a little spy robot thingy, zips through the atmosphere and crashes into the snowy planet below. That's when Chewbacca shows up and blasts it away with his cross bow laser, his fury fist in the sky triumph. Chewbacca, "Raarrrr."
Hurley corrects him, its furry fist. "I needed spell check." {Ha! Yeah,me too!}
Miles asks what the hell this is.
Hurley tells Miles he's "writing The Empire Strikes Back. It's 1977. So Star Wars just came out. And pretty soon George Lucas is gonna be looking for a sequel. I've seen Empire like 200 times, so I figured I'd make life easier and send him the script...With a couple of improvements." {That's Fucking awesome!!}
Miles thinks that's the stupidest thing he's ever heard. Well, at least Hurley isn't scared to talk to his own dad. Hurley grabs his script and heads back to the van.
LaFleur enters his house.
Juliet-"James. You're back."
James-"Barely. You ever had one of those days you feel like the little Dutch boy with your finger in the..." {What? Dam?!}
Juliet purposely interrupts his final word to acknowledge Doc is there. Jack came there to tell him about Roger thinking Kate has something to do with his son going missing. This is due to the fact Kate talked to him to make Roger feel better. James is pissed.
Jack-"Her heart was in the right place."
James-"But where was her head?!"
Jack also tells him he had a talk with Roger, he doesn't think he's gonna say anything to anyone for now. Jack just wanted James to know. Jack gives Juliet his coffee cup.
James-"Thanks for filling me in, Doc."
James walks out onto the porch to see Jack off.
Phil comes over, "Hey, Boss. We got a development. You better come to the office."
James has been running around the jungle all day, so whatever Phil's got can wait a while.
Phil- "I know who took the kid."
James-"Yeah. Who's that?"
Phil presents the tape, "You."
James has a perfectly good explanation for what Phil saw on that tape. Phil sure as hell hopes so. James invites him in.
Phil hasn't talked to Horace yet, he thought that after three years of working together, he'd give him the benefit of the doubt.
James knocks Phil out; tells Juliet to get some rope.
Mr. Gray rakes up dead leaves in his yard. Miles walks right through Mr. Gray's open gate. Miles tells him he's about to go on a boat trip for a while and he wanted to give Mr. Gray his money back.{Yellow envelope} "I lied to you, Mr. Gray. I wasn't able to talk to your son."
Mr Gray asks why he is telling him this; he could have just let him go on believing what he said.
Miles-"That wouldn't have been fair to your son...If you needed your son to know you loved him, you should have told him when he was still alive."
Miles walks away. {They hang clothes to dry on the line, not in a dryer.}
Miles and Hurley pull up to the motor pool. Miles hangs the keys on hook number eight.
Hurley apologizes to him for saying he was afraid to talk to his dad. Miles tells him not to worry about it.
Hurley {gassing up the van} shares that he used to hate his dad too, "He left when I was 10. But the best thing I ever did was give him a second chance. We got to be the best of friends. And although I may never see him again, I miss him. And I know he feels the same."
Miles' dad didn't leave when he was 10; he was a baby and never knew him, "and I don't want to. It's not happening."
Hurley plays the Star Wars card. "That was Luke's attitude too...In 'Empire', Luke found out Vader was his father, but instead of putting away his lightsaber and talking about it, he over reacted and got his hand cut off. I mean, they worked it out eventually, but at what cost? Another Death Star was destroyed, Boba Fett got eaten by the Sarlacc and we got the Ewoks. It all could have been avoided if they just, you know, communicated. Let's face it, Ewoks sucked, dude."
Hurley walks away, leaving Miles with his thoughts.
Miles quietly walks over to the Cheng house and looks in the window. He sees a very happy, loving Daddy Cheng, reading a Polar Bear story to his child. A telephone rings. {Big ass Dharma logo on the baby blanket} Miles gets teary eyed watching the happy family. Cheng's call has him leaving the house right away.
Cheng calls out for Miles {who is walking away} "I need you...The sub's here from H.Q. I need your help bringing them in."
Miles will help, "New recruits?"
Cheng-"No. Scientist from Ann Arbor. Get your van and let's get to the dock."
Miles helps unload passengers and luggage from the sub. A voice from inside the hatch needs a hand with something. Out of the hatch emerges a dark Swan logo jump suited Dan.
Miles is surprised,"Dan."
Dan-"Hey, Miles. Long time no see."
Some Like it Hoth...GREAT EPISODE!! Wow! The blending and blurring of events "on Island" and "off Island" were very clear here. Another trip down into the rabbit hole!
Things to note…Questions to ask...
♟ If Miles really has a gift for the land of the dead, wouldn’t he “know” the truth about his father? And why would he have to lie to customers? Is he a fraud just like the psychics? If he's a fraud, then what is it that he needs him mom to share about why Miles is the way he is, and why he does the things he does? What is it really all about?
♟ If Miles really has this gift for communicating with the dead and his services are needed to find Ben, then the obvious question is…Is Ben and everyone else dead? But then again, what constitutes “dead” or “Not Dead”, just “gone.”

♦ In Hindu and Buddha beliefs:
* 4: Four is the number of manifestation and material reality. There are four elements, four sides of a square, four cardinal directions of a compass, four seasons, four winds, etc. It is a number of order, structure, power, and earthly dominion. Four is the number of the prototypical complete family: a father, a mother, a son, and a daughter.
At some stage in the evolution of beings they develop their own egos and awareness of a false sense of self. Driven by their own desires and sensory inputs, deluded by maya these beings would be driven much deeper into darkness and delusion unless they are presented with a system of values and moral percepts which would remind them of their primary purpose in their lives.
The reason why we see four hands for most of the divinities in the Hindu iconography is because they enforce Dharma which is symbolically represented as number four. Dharma is eternal (sanatana) because what ever may be the time and space, it will always be the same. It is manifested at the beginning of creation and withdrawn at the end. Because it is not created, we receive it always as bits and pieces of revelations. What is revealed is only a part of a much greater dharma. No one knows its full extent except Brahman itself. It is revealed in accordance with the divine intent to help the beings and guide them on the righteous path. And most important of all, it can be revealed only to those who are qualified to receive it by virtue of their knowledge and their inner purity.
Dharma has four legs. In each mahayuga or epoch it loses progressively one leg. Thus in the first epoch, Dharma walks on four legs, in the second on three, in the third on two and in the last, which is the current epoch, on only one. The world will come to an end before the fourth leg is completely lost.
In Hinduism the number four is also used in association with many other concepts.
* The aims of life (purusharthas) are four, dharma (righteousness), artha (wealth), kama (desire) and moksha.(salvation).
* The stages (ashrma) in life are four: the age of studentship (brahmacharya), the age of householder (grihasta), the age of retirement (vanaprastha) and the age of ascetic (renunciation).
* The varnas or castes are four based on the four levels of human activity: pursuit of knowledge, pursuit of selfless action, pursuit of selfish action and pursuit of ignorance.
* Besides these we hear of o the four divisions of an army, o the fourth great element (mahabhuta), which is identified as water, o the four faces of Brahma, o the four quarters of the earth, o the four hands of gods and goddesses and o the four means of accomplishment (friendship, charity, conflict and aggression).

So when I heard the name Felix, I began to sing the Felix the Cat cartoon song in my head. Weird, I know. Felix the Cat was created in the silent film era. He had a black body, white eyes. He was also in the comics. I’m sure you’re asking how the song goes? Well, let's see if my memory works….
Felix the Cat, The wonderful, wonderful cat.
Whenever he gets in a fix,
He reaches into his bag of tricks.
Felix the Cat
The wonderful, wonderful cat
You'll laugh so much your sides will ache
Your heart will go pitter pat
Watching Felix, the wonderful cat.
On to some thoughts...First of all, magnets pulling on dental work. I find that very interesting and true. The magnets used in CAT scans, MRI's and other 'magnet' based medical equipment used to be a big issue and concern when testing/scanning patients with metal/dental in/on their teeth. How can people who have fillings, braces, bridges or any other "stuff" in their mouths work on that island? LOL!
Kate tells Roger she has a “feeling” about Ben, but in reality it is based on “knowing” what happened to Ben. Could Miles’ “gift” of “feeling” be based on the same thing? Can he really communicate with the dead?
I've felt through this season that there is "guiding" going on. Island residents seem to be guided to face truths, lies, faults, pain, addictions, etc. in addition to literal places to go and actions to activate. Here, “Hurley” seemed to have been Miles’ guide. Much of the dialogue in this episode could relate back to Jack and Christian with the references to liquor and drinking, surgical masks, plus the missing Christian body on the "Island". I don't know...call me crazy.
Pain in your chest, pain in your heart, feeling all alone… How do we come to terms with the deep seeded emotions that leave us with a hole in our heart. How do you face the pain and learn to move forward from it. When this is finally achieved, can we see a clearer path ahead, the one that will lead us to the person we are meant to become? Some of us just need a second chance.
We are again told that whatever happened in the past can't be changed. So why are a few of the Losties in 1977? Can they change anything? Can they save the world, or are they just trying to save themselves? Maybe time can heal some old wounds.
I still come back to Locke entering the 7 7 command into the computer in the Flame hatch.

I know, you're wondering why I have this one here...Well, to me, this old guy who kicked the bucket, looks a lot like an older version of Roger Linus with a fake mustache! lol
This older man is gray, yet sports a brown mustache. Could it be from the Mr. Friendly locker of fake facial hair? lol

The landlord questions her about her, "It's just me" answer. She really meant that her husband is out of the picture, it’s just her and her son; who she claims in quiet. Apparently most of the tenants don’t like noise. {Apt 7}
The landlord will need two months up front.
Mom gives her son a coin and the boy runs off.
Mom- “No running. You hear me Miles.”
An alarm is going off in the background. {Sign: No lifeguard on duty.} Little Miles walks right through the open gate of the pool to the vending machines. He stops, as if hearing something. He gets Flashes of a dead man. Miles looks up at the apartments and focuses in on apt 4. {Note his experience is very glitchy.}
{A (bullet) hole in the railing.} Miles puts his hand on the door and knows to pick up the fake bunny to reveal the hidden key. {Note the 8/bunny.} He enters the dark apartment.Mom asks Miles what he was doing in there.
Upset Miles tells her, “He, he was all alone. He was scared. His chest hurt. He kept calling out for Kimberly.”
The landlord reveals Kimberly is Mr. Vonner’s wife; who died last year. The landlord wants to know how Miles would have known that.
Miles- “I heard him.” {Note the landlord wearing a dark hooded sweat jacket.}
Mom shakes him, wants to know what he’s talking about.
Miles- “He’s still talking right now.”
Mom tells her honey, “He’s dead."
Miles yells while looking at the dead man, “I told you…I can hear him! I can hear him!”
Miles covers his ears. {We’ve seen Hurley do this a lot!}
In Dharmaville, Miles reads the 1977 issue of Sports Illustrated. {23. New boss in L.A..}
LaFleur radios Miles, tells him to pick up.
Miles drives the Dharma van down a dirt road through the jungle. Out of the bushes jumps Radzinski and his rifle, “Stop right there!” {He’s wearing a Blue Swan logo jumpsuit.}
The dead man has a hole in his head. {Blood near mouth.}
Once the men are out of sight, Miles opens the body bag, whispers, asking the dead dude, “Okay. So what really happened?” {Less blood on the guys face now.}
Miles, looking very {Flock of Seagulls 1980’s.
Mom looks angry, “Somewhere you can never go.” {Like over the fucking rainbow?!}
Miles removes a cooler. Hurley asks where Miles is going, all the while still loading his coolers in. Miles reveals he’s going to the Orchid and coincidentally so is Hurley. He made lunch/sandwiches for the crew; Ham and cheese, he even made his secret garlic mayo. {Vampires again. lol!!!}
Roger bursts in; hurrying with the medical supplies Juliet requested he retrieve from the Medical Station. He got there as soon as he could; all the vans were out so he had to run. He sees that Ben is missing and asks Juliet if Ben is…. Nope, he’s not. {There are no other patients in the room, but there way last episode}
Miles sits in the backyard of Mr. Gray. {Note laundry on the line. Similar red plaid shirt that I’ve seen worn by Pierre, Frogurt and Sawyer. Miles is wearing a shark on his shirt.}
Miles is trying to communicate with Mr. Gray’s dead son, who was killed last Labor Day weekend; a drunk driver ran the light. {Framed photo. Football. Number 59.}

She leads the way, but he looks at her card, then at her and he looks very confused. {I thought he didn’t meet her until the freighter! More Lies?}
Kate walks away. {Tisk, tisk, Kate. What did you do? Lol}
They arrive at the very busy and loud construction site of The Orchid. {Concrete framed building.You can hear some guy yell something about ‘we’re ready for him.’}
Miles looks around and Notes Dr. Cheng. {Wearing a Swan Dr. blazer}
Cheng order two men to bring the package inside. {One of the men says something like, “What the hell’s he got, Jimmy Hoffa in here?”}
Cheng tells Miles and Hurley to wait there until he gets back. {To me it feels like Miles and Pierre are aware of who they are, because Cheng is talking like a dad to his son.}
Miles-“Need me for what?” {Why would he ask that question? Isn’t it obvious why she brought him there?}
Naomi shares the Island has a number of deceased individuals residing on it, and as this man is the one responsible for them being deceased, we believe they can supply invaluable information as to his whereabouts.
Jack erases the black board in the Dharma school room. {Note lesson on Egyptian language/symbols}
Drunk Roger comes in ready to clean the room that is on his rounds {Note Arts and Crafts, imagination- I can’t help but remember missing pieces Arzt and Crafts.}
Miles drives the van while Cheng sits in the passenger seat; Everyone is quiet. Hurley breaks the silence by telling Cheng that he’s new here and asks him what exactly he does do at the Orchid. Cheng reveals that’s classified; he can’t even tell his wife or his three month old son. {Note Hurley asks about kids, not kid.}
Lol
Hurley continues to steer the conversation by mentioning those two men have been there for three years, they must be pretty tight. {Watch the looks by Cheng and Miles}
He pushes open the “fake” wall to reveal the hidden work site. {The greenery sounds like it's on a chain link fence.} They drive down to the noisy construction site. {It's at the concrete stage.}
Hurley says it , 42”
Cheng walks by carrying rods. {Is he gonna perform a lobotomy?!}
Miles asks how he knew that.
Hurley-“They’re building our hatch.”
Miles-“What hatch?”
Hurley-“The one that crashed our plane.”
Miles buys food from La Vida taco stand. {La Vida=LIFE}
A black van pulls up next to him as he walks down the street. The passenger says hello to Miles, as if he knows him. Black Hooded guys with white 'surgical' masks abduct Miles and throw him in the van.
The passenger introduces himself as Bram. {He is on the Ajira flight. Note his use of hand gesture.}
Hurley corrects him, its furry fist. "I needed spell check." {Ha! Yeah,me too!}
Miles asks what the hell this is.
Hurley tells Miles he's "writing The Empire Strikes Back. It's 1977. So Star Wars just came out. And pretty soon George Lucas is gonna be looking for a sequel. I've seen Empire like 200 times, so I figured I'd make life easier and send him the script...With a couple of improvements." {That's Fucking awesome!!}
Miles thinks that's the stupidest thing he's ever heard. Well, at least Hurley isn't scared to talk to his own dad. Hurley grabs his script and heads back to the van.
LaFleur enters his house.
Juliet-"James. You're back."
James-"Barely. You ever had one of those days you feel like the little Dutch boy with your finger in the..." {What? Dam?!}
Miles walks away. {They hang clothes to dry on the line, not in a dryer.}

Love to all who are “LOST” ™
A picture to ponder. (click to enlarge)
I know, you're wondering why I have this one here...Well, to me, this old guy who kicked the bucket, looks a lot like an older version of Roger Linus with a fake mustache! lol
This older man is gray, yet sports a brown mustache. Could it be from the Mr. Friendly locker of fake facial hair? lol

Because You Left.
Let's talk about LOST! Because You Left.

8:15. The Alarm is beeping. Pierre Cheng and wife are waking up; the baby also has been woken up.
It’s "his" turn to tend to the baby.
Cheng feeds the baby and readies himself for the day.
We pass through imagery that is very much like meeting Desmond in the Swan hatch". {Shaving, brush teeth, etc}
Record on the record player skips; the needle is stuck ("If you can’t make a record").
Dharma folk, dressed in regular clothes go about their daily chores.
Cheng opens a door to reveal a film crew (Dressed in Dharma jumpsuits) and film set.
The Doc proclaims he doesn’t need a script.
Dharma orientation film #2, take 1.
A dude looking like Sawyers stand in is behind the camera. “Action.”
Dr. Marvin Candle introduces the orientation film for Station 2, The Arrow.
This Station’s primary objective is to develop defensive strategies and gather intelligence on the islands hostile indigenous population.
Eric, a construction worker storms in announcing to Dr. Cheng, they have a problem down at the Orchid.
(Click the pics!)

The Orchid is being constructed; Dharma vans and workers are busy.
Cheng takes the elevator down. He looks focused (or pissed).
The Foreman tells Candle, “We were cutting through the rock, right on your specs. That’s when the drill melted. 3 meters from the margin line on the plans.”
They went through six carbon drill bits then the last one just fried. He goes on, ”Then my operator grabbing his head and freaking out….”
They sonar imaged the wall; there’s an open chamber behind the rock. There’s something in there.
{Five holes are drilled}
The Foreman suggests laying charges to get to whatever is inside the wall. Cheng won’t have it!
Cheng tells the foreman if they can harness the limitless energy, they can manipulate time.
Foreman asks “What? We’re gonna go back and kill Hitler?”
Cheng- “Don’t be absurd! There are rules! Rules that can’t be broken.”
Cheng tells him not to drill any further; he doesn’t want to risk releasing the energy. A bloody nosed worker is being placed on a stretcher.
Cheng bumps into Faraday (Wearing an Orchid logo hardhat).
Cheng tells him to “Watch yourself!”
Faraday- “Sorry sir. It won’t happen again.”
The foreman says to Faraday, “Did you hear that? Time travel. How stupid does that guy think we are?”

Inside the funeral parlor, Ben, dressed in black, tells Jack to close that up now, let's get him in the van; it’s out back.
Jack asks where they are taking him.
Ben tells him they’ll worry about that "once they pick up Hugo.”
Jack- “Hurley is locked away in a mental institution.”
Ben- “Which should make recruiting him considerably easier than the rest of your friends.”
Jack feels "They" are not his friends anymore.
Ben-“Well that’s the spirit.”
Jack-“How did we get here? {He asks this to Kate in the jungle too.} How did all this happen?"
Ben- "It’s because you left."
At the Motel Jack is shaving {Mirror. Watch. Cut on right side forehead. Football game on the TV}
Ben is laying out clothes.
Jack asks "So once we get Hurley, then what?"
Ben- "Then we get Sun. Sayid. And Kate of course."
Jack- "I don't see that happening. When was the last time you saw him? I mean Locke."
Ben- (sighs) "On the Island. In the Orchid Station. {The Orchid Station is shown.} Below the greenhouse. I told him I was sorry for making his life so miserable. And then he left. So obviously John's visit to you made an impression. What did he say to make you such a believer?"
Jack- "Sawyer. Juliet. Everyone from the boat…everyone we left behind. John said that they'd die too if I didn't come back." {not 'go' back?}
Ben- "Did he tell you what happened to them after the island moved?"
Jack- "No. No he didn't."
Ben- "Then I guess we'll never know."
3 Years Earlier:
Ben pushes the frozen wheel. The “island” residents are experiencing buzzing and humming and bright light. The island disappears.
John stands in the rain and looks at his right hand. {Was he holding something?}
He’s confused and calls out for “Richard?….Anyone?” {JOHN’S EYES.}
On the zodiac raft, Frogurt asks what happened. "What was that light?"
Faraday- “We must’ve been inside the radius.”
Shirtless Sawyer asks Juliet, “What the hell was that?”
She doesn’t know. Sawyer asks where the freighter is.
Juliet comments, “Maybe it went down.”
Sawyer- “Can’t be, a minute ago it was coughing “black smoke” now there’s nothing."
The helicopter was heading for that boat.
Bernard is calling out for Rose; he can’t find her. Rose comes running out from the “church”. They all shouldn’t be panicking, but the camp is gone. We see the camp residents looking around, lost. The kitchen and tents, gone. {Note bright flowers.}
Bernard, “…gone. Everything but us.”
Faraday in his tie, tells them it’s not gone. Charlotte hugs Faraday. Sawyer doesn’t know who Faraday is.
Miles informs Sawyer, “That’s Dan. He’s our physicist.”
Dan tells them they have no time. {lol! No time!} He wants Juliet to take them to something man made, anything built, any kind of a landmark. She suggests a Dharma station that's 15 minutes away.
Sawyer asks, “You mean the hatch? The one we blew up?”
Dan feels that’s perfect. They need to get moving before it happens again.
Dan tells Sawyer, The camp isn’t gone; It hasn’t been built yet.
Kate’s house:
Cartoons on the TV. Coffee.
Aaron who is watching the cartoon says, “Choo choo, tunnel.” {N.Y. train-subway?} (Eggs, funny pages.)
Kate thinks Choo choo knows better than that, “He’s goes into that tunnel, he’s never coming back out.“
The doorbell rings. Kate tells Goober to watch is cartoons; she'll get the door. There are two men at the door (Dan Norton) from the law firm Agostoni and Norton. They claim to have a court order for Kate to relinquish hers and Aaron's blood. This of course, is an effort to determine their relationship. Mr. Norton isn't at liberty to divulge the identity (ID) of his client.
Kate's not having any of that so she demands they get off her property.
He threatens to have to come back with the sheriff. She tells him to come back with the sheriff; she shuts the door.
Kate kicks into her “on the run“ mode. Packing clothes, large amount of cash (in a yellow envelope) and guess what else?....A gun! (Really)
Aaron asks her where she's going. Kate tells the boy they're going on vacation.
There's an interesting photo of Jack with a blond young child (in vibrant color).
Kate takes the keys and tells Aaron to "Say bye bye, baby."
Sawyer tells Juliet he jumped off the helicopter to make sure she, uh, they got back to the boat.
Dan needs the two of them to pick up the pace.
Shirtless Sawyer wants Dan’s shirt, but Dan feels they have more pressing matters than that; they should keep moving.
Sawyer calls a “time out”.
Dan wants him to trust him, but Sawyer doesn’t know him.
Dan tells him he doesn’t have time to explain things, “You have no idea how difficult that would be for me to try explain this, this phenomenon to a Quantum Physicist. That would be difficult. So for me to try to explain whatever is happening..”
Sawyer slaps him! And he threatens Charlotte for interrupting.
Dan explains the “Island” like a record, spinning on a turntable, now, that record is skipping. Whatever Ben did down at the Orchid Station, “I think it may have dislodged us.”
Dis-lodged them from time.
Juliet- “So, that’s our camp is gone. Because the island is moving through time?” {Aren’t we all moving through time? lol}
Dan-“Either the island is, or we are.”
This baffles Sawyer.
Dan- ”It’s just as likely we’re moving. Your people and us.”
Not everyone in the group is accounted for...Locke.
Locke climbs up the hillside, walks through the grass and hears a motor rumble. He sees the Nigerian drug plane (Black smoke) fly over his head, and apparently crashes. He picks up a Virgin Mary statue.
John carries the statue through the jungle to the drug plane. There it sits above him. Black smoke pours out of the plane.
John calls outt7 to see if anyone is in there. He climbs up the roots.
John is shot at; hit in the right leg. It’s Ethan with a rifle, “Who are you?” ….” How many others on board?’"
Locke tells him he didn’t come on that plane (Drug plane).
Ethan- ”Wrong answer.”
Locke tries to chill out Ethan by revealing that he knows him, “I know who you are. Your name, your name is Ethan.”
Ethan seems intrigued, “Who are you?”
Locke, “My name is John Locke. I know this is gonna be hard to understand but Ben Linus appointed me as your leader.”
Ethan finds that ridiculous, “Goodbye John Locke.”
Then as Ethan aims…bright light…whooooosh! {Convenient, huh?} John’s in the dark.
Shirtless Sawyer and the gang are in the dark. They look around as if hearing something {perhaps?} Sawyer asks the Wiz kid, “When are we now?”
Dan tells him, they either in the past or the future. {Oh, friggin brilliant! We can only ever be in the past or the future. There is no present. Constant motion. NOW.}

Sun descends an escalator in the airport on her way to L.A.. She’s on the phone. {In the background you can hear ‘Flight 23 Paris to boarding at gate 15. Sun still wears wedding ring.}
She checks in at the Oceanic counter.
It’s evening. The attendant scans her passport; this apparently sends up a red flag.
She asks Ms. Kwon to wait there.
Sun is taken to a guarded room.
Sun bangs on the door to be let out, “Open this door! Open this door!”
Mr. Widmore appears, tells her to save her breath. “They only do what I tell them to do.”
Widmore had her brought in.
He’s insulted that Sun had the audacity to approach him in broad daylight, in front of his business associates. In public! Apparently she didn’t show him any r-e-s-p-e-c-t. {sing it!}
Widmore- ”I will be respected, Sun.” {The time on the clock approx- 9:22} That’s fair. Since she’s worried about her plane, he’ll get down to business. He wants to know about their common interests.
Sun- “To kill Benjamin Linus.”
Ben watches the news about the guy shot in his car outside Santa Rosa hospital. A private health care facility outside L.A.. {action 8 news} They misidentify the shooter as Hugo Reyes, who escaped the hospital earlier that evening.
Jack’s ready to “Go get um.”
Reyes lived at the facility for 2 years. Why Hugo would murder is a mystery.
Ben informs Jack, “Looks like we have a change of plan.”
Jack looks troubled.
Night, at the Rainbow drive in:
Sayid hands Hurley over his fast food order. {chicken}
Hurley offers Sayid a fry and suggests, “Maybe if you eat more comfort food, you wouldn’t have to go around shooting people.”
They pull up to a motel looking building.
Hurley asks who the dude was that Sayid shot outside Santa Rosa.
Sayid doesn’t care, he was armed and watching Hurley, that made him an enemy. Sayid isn’t taking any risks after “Benthem died.”
Hurley-“You mean Locke.”
Yes, he means Locke. Hurley feels he too needs a cool code name.
Dog barking...
Hurley in his Santa Rosa attire and eating a sandwich, asks Sayid when he became so paranoid. Sayid reveals, "If you spent the last 2 years doing the things I was doing, you'd be paranoid too."
He was working for Benjamin Linus.
Hurley is surprised that, "He's on our side now?"
Sayid tells Hurley if he ever has the misfortune of running into him, whatever he tells you, just do the opposite.
Sayid discovers there is a breach (tape) into the room. He protectively shoves Hurley to wait here.
Sayid gets into it with the two guys who were inside the room. Sayid throws one guys off the balcony.
Inside the room while fighting with the other guy, Sayid gets shot with a dart. Sayid fakes being "out" then hits the guy with a pan.
They struggle some more.
The dishwasher conveniently opens with knives conveniently pointed up, and the bad guy falls on top of them.
Hurley, still outside, stares at the gun on the ground. He picks it up and looks over the balcony. As a crowd gathers below him, a man takes a photo of Hurley holding the gun. Someone yells "The guys got a gun...Run...get out of here." They scatter. {like bugs}
Hurley helps a weak Sayid out to the car.
Hurley comments, he thought it was supposed to be a safe house, "I never should have left that island."
Juliet leads the gang in the dark.
Charlotte asks Miles, “Do you think he’s looking for us?"
Miles- “Who?”
Widmore.
Miles shares that it took him like 20 years to find this place the first time. I’ll start holding my breath now.”
Juliet reveals the imploded hatch. {or exploded} It was the hatch.
Sawyer- “Blown up, just like we left it.”
Dan determines the “now” as after your people crashed on the island.” {Wow! He’s a fucking genius!} With that, it’s possible that the camp is back on the beach again, so Sawyer is going back, shirtless.
But Dan tells him it’s pointless. They don’t know when the next flash is coming, because by the time Sawyer got back to the beach the camp could be gone again.
But what if it aint?! What if the helicopter hasn’t taken off yet. They could warn them; Stop them from flying to the boat.
Dan rains on this parade, “It’s not the way it works.”
Sawyer-“Who says?” {Yeah! Who says?}
Dan- “You cannot change anything. You can’t. Even if you try to, it wouldn’t work.”
Why?
Dan explains time is like a street. "We can move forward and reverse on that street, but we cannot ever create a new street. If you try to do anything different, we will fail, every time. What ever happened, happened.” {Is this the same as “the computer is only meant for entering the code, nothing else, BS?}
Sawyer asks Danny boy how he’s knows so much about this. Danny boy knows about this because he spent his entire adult life {how long has that been?} studying space time. He knows all this because “this journal contains everything he’s ever learned about the Dharma Initiative. This is why I’m here. I know what’s happening.”
Sawyer wants to know how they can stop it.
Guess what? You can’t stop it.
Sawyer, “Then who can?”
John, shot, in the dark jungle, lays on the ground. He sees the over turned plane on the ground.
He limps his way over to it. {lots of cobwebs on it.} Virgin Mary statues {unburned} and skeleton are inside. John tourniquets his leg and leans against the plane.
A torch is approaching!
John readies himself with the knife.
It’s Richard. John asks what’s happening.
Richard-“What’s happening is you’re bleeding to death.” {Hmmmm}
Richard takes out an old {looks like Dharma} first aid kit, prepared to remove the bullet. He tells John he knows about the bullet because John told him.
John says he didn’t tell him.
Richard-“Well, you will.”
John reveals it was Ethan who shot him.
Richard-“Well, what goes around, comes around.” Ageless Richard wears spectacles.
John- “When am I?” {When are you, what?}
Richard tells him that’s all relative.
John asks Richard, “The noise, when the sky lit up, Where did “you go?” {Hugo. lol}
Richard-“I didn’t go anywhere. You did.”
The bullet is painfully removed.
Confused John doesn’t understand. He wants to know how Richard knew where to find him. Of course Richard wishes he had time to explain, “But you’re gonna be moving on soon and we need to go over a couple of things before you…”
He tells John he’ll need to clean out the wound every couple of hours and keep as much weight off the leg as he can.,“The island will do the rest, John.”
Richard tells him to pay attention, “The next time we see each other I’m not gonna recognize you.”
He hands John a compass.
John- “What does it do?”
Richard-“It points North, John.”
Again, Richard wishes he had more time to be more sensitive about this because it’s a lot to swallow. “You need to know it in order to do what you gotta do.” He’s just gonna say it…”The only way for you to save the island, John is to get your people back here. The ones who left.”
John thinks the chopper and boat thingy may have "killed" them.
Richard also explains they are fine and they’re already home. “So you have to convince them to come back.”
To accomplish this feat, John’s gonna have to die.
Bright light….Whoooosh!...
...Daylight. John, shielding his eyes, holds the compass. The drug plane is again perched up above him. {puffing black smoke}
Dark:
The gang looks into the imploded hatch.
Miles- “What was this thing before you guys blew it up?”
Juliet tells the tale, “It was a Dharma Station…A man named Desmond was living down in it. He was pushing a button every 108 minutes to save the world.” { Really?!}
Noise….Bright light…. Sawyer, “Son of a…..Whooosh!
Daylight…..Sawyer, “Bitch.”
Juliet sees the hatch is back! She says to Sawyer, “I guess you haven’t found it yet.”
She uncovers its window.
Frustrated Sawyer has had enough. He’s going in through the back door to get supplies. Dharma food, beer and clothing. Dan tells James to wait. It’s not a good idea.
Sawyer- “The sky can flash all it‘s wants. I aint starting over, Dilbert. I aint rubbing 2 sticks together to start a fire and I aint damn boar.”
He’s getting Desmond to let him in one way or another. Dan tells him that won’t work because Desmond didn’t know him when he first came out of the hatch. That means they never met. “Which means you can’t meet.”
Sawyer- “This would all be fascinating if I was listening to you.”
Dan asks how he knows it’s Des in there, “It could be anybody.”
Sawyer don’t care.
Dan tells him it won’t work.
Sawyer thinks it will. Sawyer starts banging on the door, “Open the damn door…. It’s the ghost of Christmas future.”
Dan- “No one is gonna answer you.”
Sawyer continues to bang and yell. Dan tells him he’s wasting his time, “If it didn’t happen, it can’t happen. YOU CAN’T CHANGE THE PAST, James!”
Sawyer grabs him, “Everybody I care about just blew up on your damn boat. I know what I can’t change.”
Juliet suggests they get back to the beach, “It’s been a long day.”
Juliet looks sad/troubled.
Miles asks why they’re going back to the beach if there’s nothing to go back to.
Juliet sarcastically says, “So stay here.”
Miles thinks she’s flirting with him.
Charlotte gets a nose bleed. She hasn’t had one since she’s little.
Dan looks in her eyes but she insists she’s fine. He doesn’t like the sight of blood. {me neither!} It’s a good thing he’s a physicist then. He stays behind to retrieve his pack from the hatch crater.
Charlotte- “Don’t Dillydally” and goes on ahead. {Ha! He wouldn’t think of it. Lol}
Dan flips through the pages of his notebook. Eureka! Dan knocks on the Swan’s back door, 5 knocks. He whispers, “Please let this work. Please….”
5 more knocks.
Out busts out a Yellow Haz-mat suited Desmond. Complete with rip in left leg and sportin' a rifle. Des pulls the gun on Dan wants him to explain why he’s been banging on the door for the last 20 minutes. {did Des hear Sawyer?} “Are you him?”
Desmond wants to know if Dan is his replacement. Nope.
Desmond- “Do I know you?"
Dan- “In a way, but that’s not important.” {WTF?} What is important is what he’s about to say to Desmond.
Dan-“You’re the only person who can help us because Desmond, the rules, rules don’t apply to you. You’re special. You’re uniquely and miraculously special.”
What the heck is he talking about???
There's a noise/high pitch buzz…they both look up into the trees. Dan goes on telling Desmond if the helicopter got off the Island and he got home…Desmond doesn’t know what he’s talking about…Dan tells him to listen or people are gonna die. “My name is Daniel Faraday. And right now me and everyone else you left behind, we’re in serious danger. You’re the only person who can help us. I need you to go back to Oxford University, go back to where we met. I need you to go there and find my mother. Her name is…” Bright light…..Whoooosh!
Desmond sleeping and sweating; he wakes up. Penny asks if he’s alright.
Desmond- I was on the Island.”
Penny reminds him he’s been off the island for 3 years. He’s safe now. It was just a dream. Upset Des bolts up, ”It wasn’t a dream It was a memory.”
Desmond runs up on deck. {looks like Greece} They’re leaving to go to Oxford.
Because You Left is a GREAT EPISODE!
The "skipping"... is this the first time we’ve seen this? I’ve always felt like things were not in time order. Is this the same thing, only heightened? When see things like, Artz has a structure built to house his named jarred bug collection, Mikhail not dying, Richard not aging, Charlie in the front of the plane, but ends up on the beach, two versions of the bearing map in the helicopter, etc..
Does this “skipping” happen "off the "Island" too? Why do we see two versions of Hurley’s lottery ticket? Why would Jack’s name be spelled differently? If that’s “time travel” then it is showing things being changed (slightly). But those changes/differences seem more like by-products of the dream state/altered state, the imagery of the experience, or even perception, happening in their heads/minds.
You know I NEVER throw out the metaphor possibilities in the story.
Let's use our brain power, Losties!
Things to Note…Questions to ask….
* Is there a glitch in the matrix? A bug in the system?
* Fake. Staged. Sets, cameras, script, etc. Fake names/ID
* Eye color. Why would ageless Richard need glasses?
* Cheng, stage name Marvin Candle, wears (wedding ring) Swan logo while filming the Arrow orientation video. Both arms appear to be normal.
* Flash…Dream…Memory...Consciousness.
* RULES. Things cannot be changed. What ever happened, happened.
* The computer screen at the airport shows "adobe Photoshop"
* The zodiac makes it through the “skipping”, but not the tarps/tents/kitchen, etc….
* RAINBOW Drive In. There was a rainbow patch on the pilot’s sleeve in S4. Somewhere over the rainbow. We must be over the rainbow!
* X-ray/Sonar of the wheel.
* Cartoon. Comic references, names.
* Train in a tunnel. New York subway? Connecting Stations.
* Who is the baby with Pierre?
* ID-identity. No and/or new identity.
* It seems they need to get their (moral) compasses to point North.
* The ID of the client wanting the blood work. Could it be Ben? Something like this would encourage Kate to be on the run again, make her want to go back to the "Island". Or is it someone else?
* Sheriff.
* Faraday reads his journal, realizing he is the one who is to knock on Desmond’s door.
* A Christmas Carol. A story about redemption; about becoming a better person. Scrooge experiences “life” through different time periods of his life. Past, Present, Future. This happens when he is sleeping in dreams and memory.
* Charlie killed Ethan in “Homecoming”. How did John play into that? Did he kill Ethan?
* How come Richard didn’t go anywhere but John did? That’s a pretty personalized fucking time travel.
* Richard tells John he wouldn’t recognize him. Really?! This guy knows him forever! But John recognizes Ethan and the drug plane and Richard.
* Widmore is attached to Oceanic/Airline.
* When Locke takes Boone to the drug plane (and has a vision of himself in a wheelchair) Locke can’t walk.
* There are inconsistencies with these friggin' rules of “time travel”. Faraday better go read some more playbook/strategy guide notes.
* Is the healing power of the "Island" due to said “time travel”?
* Jack isn’t the only one who left. Desmond, Hurley, Sayid, Kate, Aaron and Ben all left.
* Starting over.
* Wouldn’t Widmore be privy to the “time travel” talents of the “Island”?
* Game.
* If there’s time travel, then there always was time travel.
Vocabulary and Research…
I thought about this “time travel” element a lot. Maybe I didn’t think about it enough. I don’t know… it all gets so blurry and confusing. I thought about the mad scientist angle, that maybe we are seeing a machine at work here, like Morel’s invention (from the book The Invention of Morel). A machine that can use projectors, records, etc and replicate people/reality. Computers would work in conjunction with that. I thought about the “Back to the future” angle. Checked out more research on time/space, food poisoning and spirits. Maybe it’s reanimation or reconstitution. I know we’re dealing with a unique LOST story, but that didn’t change the fact that I needed to keep some things in mind. The “time travel” experiences of the Losties were bizarre. There are verbal and physical interaction with people from the past, items disappearing while other items stayed, who remembers/recognizes people/things, who does not, who is effected by the Flashing, who is not.
Are there still mad scientists involved here?
Can't the “Island” residents just be crazy inmates or fugitives, prisoners living in psychiatric facility being manipulated, tricked and tested? But this all would still serve a purpose...finding what you lost.
That brings us back to consciousness. The conscious and subconscious mind.
Let's touch on things pertaining to memory/the mind. Because I have scheduled my lobotomy already and I can’t back out now.
* In psychology, memory is an organism's mental ability to store, retain and recall information. Traditional studies of memory began in the fields of philosophy, including techniques of artificially enhancing the memory.
* Telescoping effect: the tendency to displace recent events backward in time and remote events forward in time, so that recent events appear to be more remote, and remote events, more recent.
* Misinformation effect: that misinformation affects people's reports of their own memory.
* Misattribution: when information is retained in memory but the source of the memory is forgotten.
* One of Schacter's Seven Sins of Memory, Misattribution was divided into Source Confusion, Cryptomnesia and False Recall/False Recognition.
* A mnemonic device is a memory aid. Commonly met mnemonics are often verbal, something such as a very short poem or a special word used to help a person remember something, particularly lists, but may be visual, kinesthetic or auditory.
* The word mnemonic is derived from the Ancient Greek word mnemonikos ("of memory") and is related to Mnemosyne ("remembrance"), the name of the goddess of memory in Greek Mythology. Both of these words refer back to("remembrance").
* Mnemonics in antiquity were most often considered in the context of what is today known as the Art of Memory. The major assumption in antiquity was that there are two sorts of memory: the "natural" memory and the "artificial" memory.
* Mnemonic verses are a type of mnemonic using rhyme, meter and meaning to help in remembering facts.
* In Mathematics: Matrix multiplication, a common mnemonic uses the song "Oh, My Darling Clementine". Row by column, row by column. Multiply them line by line. Add the products, form a matrix. Now you're doing it just fine!
* Echoic memory: Echoic Memory, the auditory version of sensory memory, refers to the phenomenon in which there is a brief mental echo that continues to sound after auditory stimuli has been heard. 3-4 seconds.
* rTMS: Repetitive Tran cranial Magnetic Stimulation: a noninvasive method to excite neurons in the brain: weak electric currents are induced in the tissue by rapidly changing magnetic fields (electromagnetic induction). This way, brain activity can be triggered with minimal discomfort, and the functionality of the circuitry and connectivity of the brain can be studied.
More bits…
* Metrodorus of Scepsis. Remember, Jack was experiencing scepsis after Juliet performed her appendectomy on him.
* Dharmachakra, “Wheel of Dharma”. Sometimes translated as wheel of doctrine or wheel of law. The symbol represents Dharma law in Hinduisn and the Buddha’s teaching of the path to enlightenment. The Dharmachakra symbol is represented as a chariot wheel with 8 or more spokes. The 8 spokes represent the Noble Eightfold Path of Buddhism.
Remember, we have heard straight from the horses mouth that we’re dealing with the conscious mind. WTF does that mean, really?!
All this skipping... the universe has a way of course correcting. Does history repeat itself? Could the word "universe" really mean "Island", which in turn may relate to something else completely. Yep!
Moral of the story…You can’t change the past. You can only learn from it.
Love to all who are "LOST" ™
Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right! The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either! You all know I hate spoilers! And I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Understood? Good! Let the fun begin! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance! It will get very exciting as we progress into the story.

8:15. The Alarm is beeping. Pierre Cheng and wife are waking up; the baby also has been woken up.
It’s "his" turn to tend to the baby.
Cheng feeds the baby and readies himself for the day.
We pass through imagery that is very much like meeting Desmond in the Swan hatch". {Shaving, brush teeth, etc}

{Five holes are drilled}

At the Motel Jack is shaving {Mirror. Watch. Cut on right side forehead. Football game on the TV}
Jack- "Sawyer. Juliet. Everyone from the boat…everyone we left behind. John said that they'd die too if I didn't come back." {not 'go' back?}
Ben- "Did he tell you what happened to them after the island moved?"
Jack- "No. No he didn't."
Ben- "Then I guess we'll never know."
3 Years Earlier:
Ben pushes the frozen wheel. The “island” residents are experiencing buzzing and humming and bright light. The island disappears.
John stands in the rain and looks at his right hand. {Was he holding something?}
He’s confused and calls out for “Richard?….Anyone?” {JOHN’S EYES.}
Bernard is calling out for Rose; he can’t find her. Rose comes running out from the “church”. They all shouldn’t be panicking, but the camp is gone. We see the camp residents looking around, lost. The kitchen and tents, gone. {Note bright flowers.}
Juliet- “So, that’s our camp is gone. Because the island is moving through time?” {Aren’t we all moving through time? lol}
Dan tells him, they either in the past or the future. {Oh, friggin brilliant! We can only ever be in the past or the future. There is no present. Constant motion. NOW.}

Sun descends an escalator in the airport on her way to L.A.. She’s on the phone. {In the background you can hear ‘Flight 23 Paris to boarding at gate 15. Sun still wears wedding ring.}
He’s insulted that Sun had the audacity to approach him in broad daylight, in front of his business associates. In public! Apparently she didn’t show him any r-e-s-p-e-c-t. {sing it!}
Widmore- ”I will be respected, Sun.” {The time on the clock approx- 9:22} That’s fair.
Sayid hands Hurley over his fast food order. {chicken}
Hurley, still outside, stares at the gun on the ground. He picks it up and looks over the balcony. As a crowd gathers below him, a man takes a photo of Hurley holding the gun. Someone yells "The guys got a gun...Run...get out of here." They scatter. {like bugs}
Sawyer-“Who says?” {Yeah! Who says?}
Dan- “You cannot change anything. You can’t. Even if you try to, it wouldn’t work.”
Why?
Dan explains time is like a street. "We can move forward and reverse on that street, but we cannot ever create a new street. If you try to do anything different, we will fail, every time. What ever happened, happened.” {Is this the same as “the computer is only meant for entering the code, nothing else, BS?}
Richard-“What’s happening is you’re bleeding to death.” {Hmmmm}
John- “When am I?” {When are you, what?}
Richard tells him that’s all relative.
John asks Richard, “The noise, when the sky lit up, Where did “you go?” {Hugo. lol}
Bright light….Whoooosh!...
...Daylight. John, shielding his eyes, holds the compass. The drug plane is again perched up above him. {puffing black smoke}
Dark:
The gang looks into the imploded hatch.
Miles- “What was this thing before you guys blew it up?”
Juliet tells the tale, “It was a Dharma Station…A man named Desmond was living down in it. He was pushing a button every 108 minutes to save the world.” { Really?!}
Charlotte- “Don’t Dillydally” and goes on ahead. {Ha! He wouldn’t think of it. Lol}
* Flash…Dream…Memory...Consciousness.
* X-ray/Sonar of the wheel.
* Cartoon. Comic references, names.
* Train in a tunnel. New York subway? Connecting Stations.
* Who is the baby with Pierre?
* ID-identity. No and/or new identity.
* It seems they need to get their (moral) compasses to point North.
* The ID of the client wanting the blood work. Could it be Ben? Something like this would encourage Kate to be on the run again, make her want to go back to the "Island". Or is it someone else?
* Sheriff.
* Starting over.
* Wouldn’t Widmore be privy to the “time travel” talents of the “Island”?
* Game.
