Kevin Pollak's Chat Show: Guest Damon Lindelof
Pay close attention to Damon's comment starting around the 28 minute mark (or so), when Damon discusses a bit more about his geek rift with George RR Martin. But watch the whole interview because it really is time well spent with these two men.
Hi Losties!
In this edition of the LOST podcast we discuss my favorite character, John Locke. We chat about his early days and his evolution as a character, his communion with the "Island", his connection to the Smoke Monster and his awesome legacy. We could have gone on much longer than we did, as there is so much to say about this multi faceted character.
Thanks for all the great feedback for the last podcast and we will hopefully do another one in a few weeks!
Enjoy!

"We Have to Go Back!" The ODI LOST Podcast.
"We Have to Go Back!"
The whole team is back including myself, Vozzek aka Danny and of course The ODI!
When we started chatting about what we should do for our new LOST podcast we threw several ideas around, but the important thing was to look back at some of the earlier mysteries, themes, issues, episodes and specific characters, based on what we all now know...or think we know.
We felt that we should start all the way back at Season 1 with the ever important Pilot episode, and then work our way through the seasons focusing on important topics, characters and mysteries. With our discussion about Pilot, we focus on the importance of Dr. Jack Shephard and his arrival on the "Island".
We're not going episode to episode like we did in our weekly recap, but we will tackle many major points; so things will vary with each podcast until we find some sort of set formula.
If you guys have thoughts, questions, ideas or topics you want us to cover we are an open book, plus this is your opportunity to hear our thoughts.
The new podcasts probably wont be as long as our traditional recap podcasts, but we are still having a bunch of fun and talking about crazy ideas. As always we'll keep it real!
We are really excited to be doing this again and we look forward to trying to give you podcasts on a regular basis. I doubt it will be weekly, but maybe every couple of weeks or so. Make sure you let all of your Lostie friends know we are back and that they should subscribe again if they un-subscribed.
Don't forget to use the drop down menu for all my detailed episode notes, also check out the top tabs for additional insight to LOST.
For those seeking Vozzek's/Danny's recaps, just head over to Darkufo for all of his great articles.
This new podcast was posted on iTunes last night and it already has several hundred downloads. We appreciate all of you staying loyal to LOST and our podcast. If you can not access iTunes here is an audio player with a download link.
Enjoy!!

The ODI Examines The End P2 and The New Man in Charge.
The ODI Examines The End P2 and The New Man in Charge.
Our chat about the finale/The End P2 and The New Man in Charge is finally here! Thank you for your patience.
It was wonderful to have meaningful LOST discussion with both The ODI and Vozzek/Danny again. In this second part of the recap we covered every aspect of the on-island adventures of Jack and the Castaways in The End and then the epilogue, The New Man in Charge. We get in to some really deep facets of the story including the literal and the metaphor, how the "sideways" connects and the meaning of this epic story as we saw it in its entirety. I think you'll be very interested to see how the three of us had differing views on some of that.
I want to thank The ODI and Vozzek for including me in your LOST discussions. We really do share a passion for all things LOST and I know we enjoy our in depth talks about it.
I hope you all enjoy the podcast and we look forward to getting together to do another one soon! Damn, I miss LOST SO MUCH!
Note: With about 38 min left in this podcast I want to be clear that I was referencing Dharma bars not Apollo bars as I inadvertently called it. Bwahaha!
A little site side note: I've spent the last few months compiling information from my own posted notes into a few of the tabs at the top labeled Data and Evidence and Instructing Further. Be sure to check them out.

UPDATE: I feel it is important to share these bits of information with you. After we recorded this podcast Damon Lindelof was involved in a feud with George RR Martin over at Twitter. The reason I'm noting it here is because Damon gives us a little more insight to the Castaways' state of existence during the story, which I think you'll find helpful. Nonetheless, Damon was bothered by George's article and took a stand.
Damon's Tweets regarding the article:
* George RR Martin is terrified of "pulling a LOST" by ending Game of Thrones shittily. In related news, my therapist just hit the jackpot.
*Here's the link to George's lament and why I won't be sleeping tonight --http://io9.com/#!5788838/george-rr-martin-talks-about-world+building-tinkering-and-the-ending-of-lost
* Thank you tweeps. In but five minutes you have made me feel better. But George? You got yourself a feud, motherfucker.
* Winter IS coming, bitch.
* I don't take issue with his opinion, I take issue with the fact that he coined "Pulling a LOST" as empirically "fucking up the ending"
* Not to mention, he agreed to be say nice things if I sent him Mr. Friendly's beard, which I did
* I've just been informed George is working on his feud response. I'll have it in FIVE YEARS!
* @ditzkoff Oh my gosh! You're not taking MY side?!? And trust me, he knows he's in a feud.
* Two final thoughts, George. A. They weren't dead the whole time. B. 1997 called. It wants its web design back. http://bit.ly/16mtFZ
* @ditzkoff I stand by the ending of the show and defend it accordingly. Until I am worthy of the New Yorker, this is the platform I've got.
And tying into that: This is from Inside Media with LOST, JJ Abrams, On Purgatory Theory, Paley Center.

LOST Fan Questions Part 1
Hi Losties!
Earlier this week The ODI asked you to send in some questions and there are so many great questions! There is of course no way to answer each one but in this bonus podcast we answer several of the common questions that were sent in and provide you with our initial thoughts about the finale.
You can read my notes on The End for more LOSTNESS!
We are working on our Finale Recap podcast and it will most likely be in two to three parts so keep your eyes open for those.. Also since so many great questions were sent in we will try to do another bonus podcast to answer some more.
In the mean time I hope you all enjoy this podcast and once again thanks for all the comments and questions!
Also, as promised, one lucky listener of the podcast will win an awesome LOST Prize package from DK Publishing that includes a LOST Complete Collection DVD Set and a LOST Encyclopedia!
That is correct! If you listen to this podcast we provide you with details on how to enter and how you can possibly win this awesome prize!
Good luck and enjoy!

Plus this just in:
Threadless has just released a LOST inspired design which is called "108 Objects from Flight 815" designed by Nathan Pyle
Here's some information from Nathan about his design:
"I'd originally set out to create a giant, chalkboard-size differential equation that 'explains' the ultimate mystery of the show, using symbols from the show - a polar bear (minus) fish biscuit (times the square root of ) the lighthouse, and on and on to a tongue-in-cheek payoff I hadn't yet determined - probably something about telling Locke what he can't do. As I drew more and more symbols, I realized the equation was unnecessary and I could make the items into a mosaic.
It was so easy because LOST is full of instantly recognizable symbols and physical, tangible things - a broken airplane, a set of knives, a wheelchair, a metal case, the Virgin Mary statues. It wasn't a stretch at all to come up with 108 references - especially because there are so many LOST fans in the Threadless community that helped by using the blog forum to send me suggestions for more symbols.
So the design is a tribute to the very visual nature of the show - stark black and white, physical conflict - (gun beats knife, smoke monster beats gun!) and the physical items that in many cases tie a character to his/her checkered past - Charlie's Drive Shaft ring, Kate's toy plane, Sawyer's letter (He's a complex guy, sweetheart)
I'm a huge fan of the show - in fact, I work in television, and a dream job would be to work on or write for a brilliant series like this. As I worked on the design, I went back to the very beginning and started watching the episodes straight through again. I'd forgotten how much I love the simplicity of the first few seasons - "Guys, where are we??" - but I also love the added layers of intrigue and mystery with each successive season, and of course I'm sad to see it end.
So I hope the shirt (and hoodie) can help soothe the sadness just a little bit and we can carry on in the midst of our impending LOSTless state. In the words of Hurley, "Let's look Death in the face and say, 'Whatever, man!'"

The ODI asks who is The Last Recruit.
Hi Losties!
With this weeks super-sized discussion about The Last Recruit we really get into some nice debates exploring the "what if" Jacob and MIB "could be" representations of two halves of a whole...or are they just two bratty boys who need to learn to play nice together.
We also talk about the MIB/Locke, his intentions and what the end game is.
I sure do love seeing this intense chess game play out and wonder who the victor will be!
Enjoy!

This podcast is a slightly extended podcast because we really take time to chat about the "whispers", and Anil from The ODI rants about why he did not like the way the whispers were answered.
Hope you all enjoy!

Theories with EW's Jeff Jensen
Hi Losties!
This week The ODI is back with another bonus podcast with EW's Jeff Jensen aka Doc Jensen.
The last time Jeff joined The ODI, many of you loved the podcast so much that we asked him to come back and he did! This time both Karen and Danny (Vozzek69) were a part of the podcast and it made for some great theorizing.
We talk to Jeff about his thoughts on the reveals from this past week's LOST Episode 6x11 Happily Ever After. We also touch on the "Keamy controversy" with what was said to Jin in the fridge in The Package, and how we think the rest of the season might play out.
So hope you all enjoy it!
NOTE: We will still have the weekly recap podcast out soon.

JOpinionated chats with The ODI about Ab Aeterno.
Hi Losties!
Jo of Get LOST with JOpinionated hangs out with The ODI, Vozzek and me to discusses the awesome LOST episode Ab Aeterno. We enjoyed reliving wonderful moments in Ab Aeterno, such as Richard's crazy laugh, his love Isabella, the interaction of Richard with both the MiB and Jacob, the reveals of the Black Rock smashing into the 4-Toed Foot and much more!
Jo joined us for the first time and she experienced some of the more "out of the box" thoughts and theories we have covered on the podcast. We also focused on the possibility that Jacob and MiB are one in the same person and/or perhaps have a split personality. Think we are crazy?? Well listen to the podcast to find out how crazy!
We also chatted with her about her experiences writing about LOST, visiting the set of Fringe and V. Jo announced just today she is now officially writing for AOL TV! CONGRATULATIONS TO JO!
Have fun and enjoy!

Also, I was honored to be able to sit down with Elena from Cool News and chat a bit about a few things LOST.
Check out the link for Cool News, and here's the Q&A with Elena:
Here is Karen. Did you know she's been on the Island for real? Do you want to know more about this amazing experience she lived? Do you want to know what she thinks about the last season of Lost? Well... check this interview, then!
Elena: First of all: YOU DID IT! "You had to go back"! How did you "live" the experience inside? What did this mean to you?
Karen: I will have a hard time trying to write about this adventure as I literally cannot find the words to describe it all. I was only there for four and a half days and I can tell you I didn’t get any sleep. There were so many moments that I never expected and they left me speechless. The island is almost dream-like in its beauty, plus when I add actually seeing the cast and writers, it was amazing. Anyone who knows me or of me knows going to the island is very important to me. Not just because I am all about LOST but also on a personal level.
E: I've seen your pics and they are wonderful: you have always this happy-smile on your face and you look almost astonished. Can you tell me which places and which meetings you remember with much fondness?
Karen: There were so many moments but the first one that comes to mind is that Daniel Dae Kim {Jin} recognized me in the crowd of fans at the premiere and came over to spend a few minutes with me. I got to meet a few of the writers and producers; Elizabeth Sarnoff, Adam Horowitz, Eddy Kitsis, Jack Bender and Bryan Burk. I met Nestor Carbonell, Jeff Fahey, and Terry O Quinn. Standing right next to Josh was unreal! Of course I wish I had a moment with Damon and Carlton. I had so much fun meeting up with Lostie’s from around the world. And yes, I loved going to the beach camp and taking a few moments to just stare out at the ocean.
E: How did you live the moments before your travel to the Island and what do you realize now about living Lost directly?
Karen: I received the trip as a Christmas surprise gift from my husband. For the entire month while waiting to go on the trip I lived in total shock. I never imagined I would actually get to go there although I desired it greatly. On the plane as we were approaching Oahu, I cried. It was so very emotional to know this part of my dream is becoming a reality. The island is a special place. The journey I’ve taken with everyone over the past six seasons has been amazing. Personally I do feel that life imitates LOST and LOST imitates life. This LOST experience has changed my life on so many levels and it happens to be an experience I don’t want to see come to an end. But alas I know it must as things tend to come full circle.
And now let's talk about LOST.
E: How was to watch the premiere there? I've listened to the audio podcast and they told that Horowitz, Kitsis and Sarnoff watched Evangeline Lilly's reaction to Frogurt presence on the plane. I mean: everyone was so involved in the watch, even the writers, even the actors. How was to watch the premiere on the Hawaii beach? Can you confirm that the Lost Community is the best ever?
Karen: The LOST community is indeed the best ever! To watch the premiere with thousands of fans and to see their reactions and hear the gasps at certain moments was wonderful.
E: And now... what do you think about the Island under the sea?
Karen: The references and hints/clues to under the sea have been in the episodes for years. I wasn’t surprised to see it under the sea, but I’m not sure how to take it. Does it mean it’s literally under the sea or a metaphor? If it's literal does that mean they are in a facility that is located under water let's say in a big city, or are they in a moon pool type of habitat, or did it plain ol sink?
E: Jughead, Frozen Donkey Wheel, Hatch Explosion: do you think this year we'll see another strange device that will cause a reset? What do you think that device could be this year?
Karen: I have wondered about that myself. The goal seems to be to get out of the loop and go “home”, but what if there is a reset for some “island” residents? If so I would imagine a unique piece of equipment would play a part in that. But this season has introduced the machine at the Temple that determines if people are good or bad. I find that very interesting. I thought only Willy Wonka had such a device for determining good eggs or bad eggs.
E: As our friend Jo call it, I'll refer to the Alternate Reality as AR. What do you think about this AR? Do you think the events on the Island and the events on the Oceanic 815 are contemporary? Or do you think that the explosion of the bomb did reset the whole thing? Or maybe something our Losties has still to do will cause it? Or maybe that what happened on the Oceanic Flight 815 caused their situation on the Island now?
Karen: This is a part of the story I feel like I can’t articulate because I still see much of the LA X events/experiences directly blurring with what is going on “on island”. Like Sawyer said, if an Atom bomb went off would they all still be there? Because things still seem to blur or directly connect to those “island” events I think they still may not be out of the "confines" of the “island”. I've always felt that all of their experiences happen on the "island". But I can’t deny that the LA X events still show us that some things are different; but not everything is different. I think it is a possibility that at some point things will converge.
E: Locke is Black Smoke and he wants to go home... do you think that his "home" is a real place or something more abstract?
Karen: I do think the goal of this entire journey is to find what you lost, break the free of the things that are trapping you so you can go home. I’d like to hope that Locke (or anyone else on the island) finds himself, his way and that the path will lead him home. Maybe when they reach that goal or enlightenment they truly can go home and live their lives a more complete person, one who knows “balance”.
E: Is the Temple a place out of time? If not: what is it in your opinion?
Karen: I think the temple is just another stop in the journey.
E: Is Jack a man of faith, a man of science, both or just a confused man who always tries to do something to help and people don't understand that?
Karen: It seems that Jack started out only being a man of science and Locke was a man of faith. But we also learned in one of Locke’s “flashes” he was a kid who excelled in science. So we do see you can be both. There is no doubt that Jack has been torn with accepting the faith issue. I feel that Jack and John need to find balance with both of those aspects. There are many times I feel like Jack and John are two halves of a whole.
E: Of all the characters who do you think will have the hugest "twist" this year?
Karen: I think Rose and Bernard will have a big impact on the story. They are the epitome of balance, of yin yang, black white. They might be there to help guide the Lostie’s into seeing that balance is attainable. But people like Hurley, Sawyer and Jin seem to be important to the protection of the "island". But for a "twist" I'm not counting out Kate and Waaaaaaalt!
E: If you think of the Island without trying to give it a scientific or mythological explanation, but a psychological explanation: what it might be?
Karen: "This place" has been referenced countless times within the story to label the “island” by just about everyone. Emotionally "this place" may be the place or state that you are in, where your broken self goes to try and find some refuge, protection from all the pain, a safe harbor…a place to go to find your lost self, to learn lessons, to face the truth, fight addictions, to learn to love and forgive yourself, to heal and grow. But what do I know?!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for an other amazing interview Karen and we all will surely continue to follow your very entertaining, deep and articulated posts on your blog until the end of Lost and later then, whatever else you will write!
