The ODI LostCast "Investigates" The Incident. Part 2.

Hi Losties,

Thanks to all of you that have waited patiently for this second part of the finale podcast.
And thanks to those of you that sent in messages, posted comments or Tweeted wondering where it was!?

The initial plan was to break this part of the podcast in to two shorter versions, but since we had taken so long to get it out to you guys I decided to just make it one Super-Sized Podcast of over 3 hours of LOST goodness!!

The podcast, covers the Sun/Jin Wedding, Jacob meeting Ilana, and all the great scenes in the 2007 time line.

As requested by several of you asking to have chapters allowing you to be able to skip back and forth through the podcast, hopefully by the next podcast we will be able to have that as a new feature.
That next podcast will most likely be a Season 5 Recap/Highlights podcast with our good friend DarkUFO joining us. Also we will update you all on Comic Con happenings and plans.
So if you have any questions, please post comments or feel free to email them in to The ODI.

The ODI Lostcast "Investigates" The Incident. Part 1.

Hi Losties,

We are two weeks into this final hiatus and I know many of you are counting the seconds until Season 6 starts next year. As usual you know I'm dealing with this hiatus heavily medicated.

As promised we are here and will continue to do our best to help speed up the wait and one way is via the podcast. We do have lots of things planned to keep us all in a L O S T state of mind.

NEED A FLASHBACK? Then please note that I am continuing to bring over my posted notes from my other site to this site. So keep checking back here if you'd like to refresh your memory on any and all the L O S T episodes.
You may need to use the drop down menu here to locate an episode. Every episode will be right here before we begin season 6.

Let’s talk about LOST! The Incident. Part 2.

Richard leads John’s group.
John-“What is it? Why are we stopping?”
Richard- “You’ll see.”
They have arrived at the 4 toed Statue.
John remarks that it’s a wonderful foot, “But what does it have to do with Jacob?”
Richard- “That’s where he lives.”

Jack asks Kate what’s going on.
Sawyer- “Doc. We gotta talk.”
Jack tells him if he wants to talk he has to get in the van as they don’t have a lot of time. Pissed off Sawyer aint gettin in the van, “I need 5 minutes, that’s all.”
Sawyer’s gonna say whatever he gotta say then Jack can do whatever the hell he wants to, “But you’re gonna listen. You owe me that much, Jack.”
Jack-“Five minutes.” {All this while Sayid bleeds to death.} The unarmed men go and talk.

Jack performs surgery on a girl. {The room is bathed in blue.}
Jack cut the Dural sac; it’s flooded, he asks for suction.
Composed Christian, who is observing the surgery, tells Jack “Calm down. It’s alright.”
Jack is starting to get nervous about the fluid that’s leaking everywhere.
Christian tells Jack, “Look at me…Jack. Look at me.”
Jack looks at dad and Christian tells Jack to count to five.”
Jack-“What are you talking about?”
Christian’s trying to get Jack to focus, “I’m talking about you stitching up the sac so this girl isn’t paralyzed for the rest of her life. And the only way you’re gonna do that is not to be afraid. So close your eyes, count to five and then fix her, Jack. Or I’ll have to fix her for you.”

Jack follows dad’s instructions. He closes his eyes, counts to five and he seems focused.
He finishes the surgery.
Jack puts a coin in the vending machine and pushes button D5 for an Apollo Bar. It’s stuck. {The Apollo Bar is flanked by Lindo’s/Humdinger candy that is peanut butter flavored. Lol}
Jack pushes the machine but it still doesn’t deliver the bar.
Happy Christian comes down the hall to get coffee, “Hey, Kiddo! The girl’s in recovery. She’s responsive to stimulus below the waist, so, no paralysis.” {The coffee station is set up in front of the med/lab/pharmacy.}
Christian senses something up with Jack.
Jack-“You embarrassed me…Its bad enough that everybody in this hospital thinks the only reason I got the residency is because you’re my father. But then y…you put me in a time out during my first major procedure, in front of my entire team. Dad, I know you don’t believe in me, but I need them to.”
Christian-“Are you sure I’m the one who doesn’t believe in you, Jack?” {Jack still has his mask tied on/around his neck} Christian walks away.
Jacob, with two Apollo Bars, asks Jack if one of these is his.
Jack walks over and tells him “The machine got stuck.”
Jacob- “I guess it just needed a little push.”
Jacob is sure to touch Jack when Jack takes the bar.




Sawyer wants Doc to sit while they chat.
Stubborn Jack reluctantly sits. Sawyer shares the story of his folks dying when he was eight years old. The con-man took his dad for everything he had and how dad killed mom then himself. Sawyer was hiding when this happened but heard the whole thing.
Jack- “I’m sorry.”
Sawyer-“That was a year ago…Right now it’s July 1977. Which means that happened last year. So I could've hopped on the sub, gone back to the states, walked right into my house and stop my daddy from killin anybody.”
Jack asks why he didn’t.
Sawyer-“Cause, Jack. What’s done is done.”
Steadfast Jack says it doesn’t have to be that way.
Sawyer asks him what he screwed up so bad the first time around that he’s willing to blow up a damn nuke just for a second chance.
Jack says that’s not what this is about. “Three years ago, Locke told me that all this was happening for a reason. That us being here was our destiny.”
Sawyer rolls his eyes, “I don’t speak destiny. What I do understand is that a man does what he does cause he wants something for himself…What do you want, Jack?”
Jack tells Sawyer he had her and I lost her.   {In LaFleur, James tells Horace about having a shot at a girl but didn't take it.}
Sawyer- “Kate?”
Jack nods yes.
Sawyer feels if Jack wants her he can go get her; she’s standing right over there on the other side of those trees, “You want her back just go over there and ask her.”
Jack thinks it’s too late for that. He tells Sawyer his five minutes is up and starts to walk away.
Sawyer is pissed, “Jack! If what you’re doing even works you and Kate will be strangers and she’ll be in damn handcuffs.”
Jack- “If it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be.”
Sawyer appears to concede that nothing he can say will change Jack’s mind, but punches him instead. “Who the hell do you think you are?”
They beat the shit out of each other! In the middle of the bout, Sawyer yells at Jack, “You think you can come here and do whatever the hell you want? I had a life here!”
The nasty fight continues.
Jack tells Sawyer, “Listen. You don’t get it.”
More fisticuffs! Sawyer chokes Jack and asks him if he’ll stop. Jack will not.
Sawyer looks like he could actually kill Jack but Juliet stops him. Sawyer tells her he wouldn’t listen. Juliet feels James that Jack is right, “We have to do this.” {Of course they do.}
Sawyer-“What are you talking about? You’re the one who told me to come back here and stop him. What happened?!”
Evidently Juliet changed her mind.

A young blond girl is pulling on the thread of a pillow. She’s crying. She asks her parents “Are we moving again?”
Her mom and dad are having a sit down with the two girls about their plans to divorce. {Rachel has dark hair. On the table is Mysteries of the Ancient Americas.}
Mom wants the girls to understand that she and dad still love each other but just because two people love each other doesn’t always mean they’re supposed to be together.
The blond girl asks what if you are supposed to be together.
Mom knows for sure that they’re not, “And when you’re a grown up, you’ll understand.”
The blond girl- “I don’t wanna understand.”
{This Flash looks very modern! Could this be just a look into hurt heart of child all grown up?} {Was that mom’s voice or Juliet’s voice?  AGAIN, This Flash is very modern.}

Sawyer is trying to get Juliet to stop, “We gotta talk about this!”
Juliet says there’s nothing to talk about, they just “have to let Jack do what he came here to do.”
Sawyer- “Well maybe you should have told me you had a change of heart before I brought him out in the jungle to kick his ass!”  But that really wouldn’t have stopped him. Juliet's glad that he finally got it out of his system.  He tries to get hold of her but she slaps him away.  Hurt and confused Sawyer needs her to tell him where all this is coming from, “I mean one minute you’re leading the great sub escape, now you’re on board with blowin up the damn island? I got a right to know why you changed your mind.”
Juliet admits she changed her mind when he looked at Kate.
Sawyer tries to reassure her, “I don’t care who I looked at. I’m with you.”
Juliet knows he would stay with her forever if she let him and that is why she will always love him. {WTF?! Let him!} She goes on, “What we had was just for a little while and just because we love each other doesn’t mean that we’re meant to be together. I mean maybe we were never supposed to be together. So if Jack can make it that none of you ever come here then he should. “ {Interesting choice of words. “Come here”, was meaning to where she is/always has been/always will be?}
He asks why she’s doing this.
Juliet- “If I never meet you, then I never have to lose you.” She walks away.

At the Swan site, they’re hosing down the drill.
Radzinski is looking over plans, “They can’t be like that!”
Cheng calls over to Radzinski to let him know his Gauss readings just jumped off the charts.
Radzinski’s excited they’re on top of pocket. Cheng says if they keep drilling and hit the pocket “All hell’s gonna break loose.”
Phil calls Radzinski to let him know the Hostile that shot the kid came back to the barracks, he attacked them and then he was rescued by the new recruits, they stole a van and took off. He doesn’t know where but Roger said that one of them had a bomb.
Radzinski is fired up, “That Hostile knows about the Swan! Get some men and some guns and get your asses out here right now. If they’re coming here we’re gonna be ready for em.”  {We've hear Jack say this before}

Bloody Jack is watching the action at the Swan from the trees on the ridge.
Kate runs over and asks him what happened. His talk with Sawyer didn’t go so well.  Kate wipes some of the blood from his face and asks him if he remembers when she sewed him up when they first got there.
Jack remembers, “It seems like a million years ago.”
Kate-“Or thirty years from now.”
Jack finally asks her why she made him promise to never ask about Aaron.
Kate says it’s because she was so angry with him for making her come back there.
Jack- “Is he why you came back?”
Kate- “I came back so he’d be where he belongs. With his mother.”
Jack excitedly shares if this works Claire will never come to the island and they’ll always be together just like they’re meant to be.
Kate reveals she was giving him up for adoption.
Jack feels they wouldn’t know that, “And whatever it is, it would be her choice. If you wanna save Claire this is the only way to do it….Nothing. Nothing in my life has ever felt so right. And, I just need you to believe that.”
They observe Cheng and Radzinsky argue about keeping the drill going.
Jack- “It’s about to happen.”
He turns to Kate and asks her if she’s with him on this.
Kate looks deep in his eyes and says yes.

Hugo stands at the counter of the police station getting his personal effects returned to him by Officer Winter of the County Sheriff’s dept. Out of the plastic bag the officer notes 1 wallet, $227.00 cash, 1 ballpoint pen, 1 fruit roll up.
Hugo doesn’t think the officer understands this is a big mistake, “I killed a bunch of people.”

The officer shows him the discharge papers, “You’ve been cleared. So take your stuff and go.” {Is his birthplace Miami? If so, there's another tie to Miami}
Hugo shares that there are men with tranquilizer guns hunting me down like an animal, they wanna bring me somewhere against my will.
Undeterred the officer directs him to a cab stand right out front.
Hugo opens the door to a cab and sees it already has a passenger. It’s Jacob. {Dark clothes and guitar case.} Jacob’s only going a few blocks and will share. Hugo offers to share his cherry fruit roll up; Jacob declines.
Hugo-“So what were you in for?”
Hugo says he was in because he killed three people. Well, I didn’t really. I guess they figured it out.”
Jacob tells him he wasn’t in jail. He was sitting outside a prison because he was waiting for Hugo.
Hugo-“Oh. Then you must be dead.”
Jacob assures him he’s definitely not dead. Confused Hugo asks what he wants from him.
Jacob wants to know why Hugo won’t go back to the island.
Hugo-“Cause I’m cursed.”
Jacob-“Is that so?”
Yep. Hugo feels that’s why the plane crashed and his friends died. Libby. Charlie. And now they visit me and I can’t make it stop.”
Jacob-”What if you weren’t cursed? What if you were blessed?”
How do you mean, blessed? Jacob says you get to talk to the people you’ve lost, “It seems like a pretty wonderful thing to me.”
Hugo agrees it’s wonderful except for the part, “I’m crazy.”
Jacob’s got some news for him and he’s just gonna have to take his word on this, “You are not crazy.”
After a few seconds of thought Hugo asks, “Who are you, dude?”
Of course Jacob doesn’t answer, he only tells the driver, “I’m just up here on the corner.”
Jacob turns to Hugo and gives him the details on “Ajira flight 316 out of LAX, leaves in 24 hours. All you have to do is be on that plane.”
He touches Hugo, “It’s your choice, Hugo. You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to.”
Jacob exits the cab and Hugo tells him he forgot his guitar.
Jacob- “It’s not my guitar.”




Hurley brings water to bleeding Sayid and tells him everything’s gonna be fine when Jack changes the future, “Or the past. One of those.”
Miles doesn’t think Jin’s buddy’s gonna make it.
Jin-“He’ll make it.”
Jack and Kate return to the van. Hurley asks Jack what happened to his face.
Jack- “Nothing.”
Jack tells the group that they were just on a ridge where they can look down at the Swan site. He tells Sayid something just happened down there, “They hit something. Time for me to go.”
Sayid informs Jack it’s all set to go, “Remember, be careful. It’s rigged to explode on impact. According to Faraday’s plan you must get the bomb as close as you can to the source of electromagnets.”

Jack reassures Sayid this is going to work and it’ll save him.
Unfortunately Sayid feels “Nothing can save me.”
Jack hands Hurley his gun to hold for a second and Kate helps him with his bomb backpack.
He gives Kate a look that seems to convey his confidence in this task. As he runs off, she looks like she has second thoughts.
As Jack makes his way to the Swan site, Juliet and pissed Sawyer appear.  Determined Jack walks by them but not before saying confidently to Sawyer, “I’ll see you in Los Angeles.” {Watch Sawyer here.}



Night:
John is standing arms crossed staring at the broken statue. {Damn, how long was he staring at it?}

Richard asks him if he’s sure he needs to do this, “If you waited, Jacob will eventually come to you.”
John is tired of waiting, “Where is he, Richard?”
Richard takes a torch and leads John yet again.
Sun asks Ben what happened to the rest of the statue. Ben doesn’t know because it was like that when he got there.
Sun- “Do you expect me to believe that?”
Ben realizing his track record as the island liar says, “Not really.”
John gathers Ben. Richard freaks, “You can’t bring him in…Because only our leader can request an audience with Jacob. And there can only be one leader on the island at a time, John!” {How many are there right now?!}
John- “I’m beginning to think you make these rules up as you go along, Richard.  Ben is coming in with me. And if that‘s a problem I‘m sure Jacob and I can work it out.”
Strong Richard pushes open the rock entry for them. “Tell him I said hello.”
John pushes the rock the rest of the way. Ben looks down the "hall" at the flickering light.  John asks him if he’ll be able to do this, “I know it won’t be easy. But I know things will change once he’s gone. I promise.”
Ben takes his knife; he looks focused.

Jin tends to bleeding Sayid.

Juliet and Sawyer are at the van with the gang. Miles wants to ask LaFleur a question.
Sawyer- “There aint no more LaFleur.”
Miles- “Has it occurred to any of you that your buddy’s actually gonna cause the thing he’s trying to prevent.  Perhaps that little nuke is the incident. So maybe the best thing to do is nothing? ”
He’s glad they all thought this through.
They see Phil and a couple of guys in a jeep on the road to the Swan site.
Kate- “If they see Jack, they’re gonna kill him.”
Sawyer looks at Juliet, knowing they have to get involved. He asks Blondie what she thinks.
Blondie-“Live together, die alone.”  {No. Really. That’s what she said!}



Phil arrives at the Swan, this pleases Radzinsky that they got there fast, “You got time to set up a perimeter.“
Phil gives orders to some men to go to the ridge line.
Cheng is mad that Stuart brought men to the site instead of getting people away from the site.
Jack watches from the ridge.
Cheng watches the gages max out. {The water tank is above the site.}
Phil spots Jack on the ridge. This triggers a shoot out!  Stuart sees the Dharma van, "Who’s this?"
Hurley drives the Dharma van to the rescue. {Again.}
Team Jack has joined the shoot out. While his friends hold off and take out a few men, Jack makes his way to the well.
Sawyer manages to grab Phil, while Cheng grabs Stuart.  Phil commands his men to drop the guns.
Sawyer tells Doc he can come out now, “Hurry up and do your business…Turn that damn thing off!”
Cheng attempts to shut it down but to no avail, “Something’s pulling the drill down.”
Stuart says they hit the pocket.
Sawyer tells Jack to hurry up, “What are you waiting for? Drop it!”
Jack looks over at crying Kate, she gives him the OK.
Sawyer lets go of Phil and looks at Juliet. They smile lovingly at each other.
Jack drops the core into the well.  They all wait in anticipation. {Eyes closed.}  
NOTHING HAPPENS. 
The machine is still running.
Sawyer-”This don’t look like LAX..”
Everything starts getting pulled into the well. Steam/smoke rise up, chains are rattling. The rig starts to get pulled in and falls over; trapping Cheng’s left hand.
Miles-“Dad!”   He helps him out and tells him to get as far away from there as he can.
Jack gets hit in the back of the head with a red tool box.
Radzinsky and a few guys jump in the jeep and try to get away from the magnet‘s pull. {Reminds me of a Scooby Doo bit! Lol}
Phil attempts to shoot LaFleur but gets skewered instead.
Juliet is knocked down and pulled by chains into the well. {Around her waist} She hangs on while Kate holds on to the chains trying to save her.
Sawyer grabs her hand and in an extremely emotional scene they try to get the chains off.
Sawyer won’t let go of her, “Hold on! I got you! Don’t you leave me… “
Juliet says it’s OK.
Sawyer is desperately holding on to her.
Juliet is crying and holding on, “I love you...I love you, James.”
Sawyer- “No! You don’t let go!…”
Juliet falls into the well.
Sawyer falls apart.















Richard offers Sun water from his canteen. She asks for alcohol.   He wishes he had some.
Ilana, Bram, Frank and group arrive with the box/crate. She tells them not to shoot, “It’s OK. It’s alright.”
She puts her gun down and asks which one of them is Ricardos.
Richard {Actually} steps forward.
Ilana -“What lies in the shadow of the statue?”
Richard- “Ille qui nos omnes servabit.”
Ilana is relived. There’s something she needs Richard to see. The men open the box and tip it over; it’s John Locke’s body.
Richards- “Where did you find him?”
Ilana- “The cargo hold of the plane they came there on; in a coffin. {Note John’s body is very limp. Not a hint of Rigor mortis or having been embalmed}
Sun doesn’t understand; she asks if this is Locke, who’s in there? {In the statue}. They’re all concerned.

John leads knife wielding Ben into the room with the fire pit in the center.
Ben looks up over the burning fire; you can see through to the night sky. He walks over to look at a tapestry. {Egyptian-like}
Sitting in a rocking chair is Jacob. He asks Ben if he likes it; he did it himself. “It takes a very long time when you’re making the thread. I suppose that’s the point isn’t it?”
John- “Hello, Jacob.”
Jacob looks leaden, “Well you found your loop-hole.”
Indeed he did, “And you have no idea what I’ve gone through to be here.”
Ben is shocked, “Have you met before?”
John-” In a matter of speaking.”
John tells Ben to do what he asked of him. Jacob in a button down shirt talks to Benjamin, “Whatever he’s told you I want you to understand one thing…You have a choice.”
Hurt and broken Ben asks what choice?
Jacob- “You can do what he asks. Or you can go. Leave us to discuss our… issues.”
Ben now seems insulted, “So now after all this time you’ve decided to stop ignoring me. 35 years I lived on this island and all I ever heard was your name over and over. Richard would bring me your instructions, all those slips of paper, all those lists. And I never questioned anything. I did as I was told. But when I dared to ask to see you myself, I was told you have to wait. You have to be patient. But when he asked to see you, he gets marched straight up here as if he was Moses. So…Why him?! Hmm? What was it that was wrong with me? What about me?!”
Jacob-“What about you?”
Yeah, this breaks the camels/Ben’s back. Ben stabs Jacob twice.
Jacobs bleeding from the mouth says, “They’re coming.”
John-“What? I can’t hear ya.”
Jacob- “They’re coming.”
John kicks Jacob into the fire pit. {Are we burning friggin vampires?!}

At the Swan site, Jack’s vision is blurred and hearing is muffled.
Kate is trying to get distraught Sawyer away from the well. Jack runs over to help her. Everything is getting pulled in.
We see at the bottom of the well all the debris managed to miss Juliet.  She is bleeding from her mouth and face up in a puddle of water. She’s crying.
Juliet sees the core of the bomb near her. She picks up a black rock and starts banging on the bomb. “Come on!! Come on you son of a bitch!!”   Bangs away.
WHITE FLASH!

The Incident part 2 is a GREAT EPISODE!

Things to note…Questions to ask...
There is additional info in my posts for this episode at The Incident. Part 1. and The Incident. Preliminary LOSTNESS.
* Escape. Exit.
* Loop-holes have been used before a few times, this is not the first time.
* Does this John have all of John Locke’s memories?
* Metaphoric chains. Chains that bind you.  Hit the bottom.  Broken heart. Childhood hurt/pain. Anger. Can’t let go/move forward. Control. Communication. Disappointment. Abandonment. Emotional and/or physical Paralysis. Dishonesty. Power. Revenge. Lying. Stealing. Cheating.
* Stuck. On an island, in time, mentally, emotionally. They need a little push.
* Dead. Not dead. Un-dead.
* Tranquilizer. Alcohol. Crazy.
* Machines.
* Jacob is indeed “right here” {statute} when his “friend” comes to kill him.
* Jacob says to Jack the vending machine needed a little push. Christian told John to give the wheel a little push. The rock entrance to Jacob’s needs to be pushed.
* Is this game is on a timer? Are they candidates for the "game"? Is the "leader" the one with the high score?
* Rose has used the term "time out". Here Jack feels dad put him in "time out".
* How were Rose and Bernard able to keep hidden from Sawyer’s grid searches?
* Apollo Bars are dark chocolate.
* Why isn’t Juliet happy with having been in love and lost, than never having been in love at all?
* Why does Jacob meet with Hurley and send him to 1977?
* I perceived Christian telling Jack to calm down, not to be afraid and learn to count, as a way for him to get Jack to do just that; Focus and regain control.  I didn’t take it as him putting Jack in a time out. In Jack’s mind the bomb will reset things from the Oceanic flight and events they’ve experienced on the island. But what happens to everyone else’s lives and events associated with the island? Then there’s Jack’s line of “If it’s meant to be, it’s meant to be” regarding Kate, then why reset anything. If they’re meant to be together anyway why erase anything? And what about Claire’s choice?
* Jack looks like a “Ghostbuster.” lol!
* Radzinsky asks yet again “Who’s this?” This is regarding Hurley.
* Richard: What is his role in all of this? Will be also be shown the truth about something? Something he has been misled about for a long time?
* “Ille qui nos omnes servabit.” {Possible Translation: “He quae we omnes being saved”. But those words also may translate to: He/she/it- who/what/which/that- us/we-omnes serves/servant/slave/creature.
* Following and believing in someone/something you’ve only “heard” about.
* The sounds at the Swan site {when everything was getting pulled in to the well} sounded very much like the sounds we heard associated with the monster.

* I'm being very careful about Jacob. I won't assume he's a positive force. Too many things tell me he just may not be what he wants us to think he is.  We do have hints to people misrepresenting themselves. Do we have another case of "Whatever/Whoever you think I am, I'm not" going on?

Here are a couple of other things from the past I wanted to keep fresh in my mind…

Ben seems surprised to see John alive. Ben shares with John he knew that this would happen.
John- “Then why were you so surprised to see me?”
Ben looks delighted, “Because it’s one thing to believe it, John… It’s another thing to see it.”

Since we first were introduced to this map, we've learned of The Tempest, The Orchid, And the Looking Glass and the Lamp post.
According to the Blast Door Map, the Medical Station was abandoned in 1985. So how is Claire in the medical station with Ethan?

Vocabulary and Research…
* Lindos- is a town and an archaeological site on the east coast of the Greek island of Rhodes, in the Dodecanese in southeastern Aegean Sea.
* Johann Carl Friedrich Gauss. A German mathematician and scientist who contributed significantly to many fields, including number theory, statistics, analysis, differential geometry, geodesy, electrostatics, astronomy and optics. He referred to mathematics as "the queen of sciences."
A few of the many things named after him: The Gauss crater on the moon. A type of magnetic gun. Gauss’s law of electric fields. Gauss a German research ship. Gauss unit, a unit of magnetic flux density or magnetic induction.





The LOST story has always been about these people being lost.  This is and has always been the basis of everything we witness.  Long time readers know my notes have always been based on this starting point.  Finding clues, using the unique ways the writers are telling us about these people's journey is the greatest, most creative way of showing us in a subliminal fashion just how deep the heart of finding enlightenment truly is.  The clues to how, where and when their journey is taking place are just an added element for us to explore.
I still believe the Castaways are "lost" and need to find themselves, add to that their journey to enlightenment via states of consciousness and seeming to be under the guise of a  game.
With that said, even though the story has taken us on an adventure through a portal to a possible other land, world, dimension and/or time or really deep inside the conscious mind, it’s still a heartfelt journey to finding yourself and finding your way home.

We do see two sides of so many things here but also keep in mind we all have two sides.   Don't count out the "mirror" theme. I wonder if next season will we see that the escape hatch has indeed been utilized to get the hell out of the loop. Would this bring us to the other side of the looking glass?

The Incident. Part 1.

Let's talk about LOST!   The Incident part 1

*For my notes I call the graying haired man in the dark and gray clothes, Mr. X.*

A blond/light haired man {White shirt, dark pants} removes a fish trap {Cone shape} out of the ocean. He cuts and cooks two filets on rock, then sits and eats as he looks out to the distant water where an old ship can be seen.  A graying dark haired man joins the blond man and bids him good morning. {Dark shirt, gray pants.}
Blondie asks the man if he wants some fish.
Mr. X declines as he just ate.
The Blond assumes this man is there because of the ship.
Mr. X-“How did they find the Island?”
The Blond-“I don’t know. You’ll have to ask them when they get here.”
Mr. X doesn’t have to ask because he already knows. “You brought them here. You’re just trying to prove me wrong, aren’t you?”
The Blond- “You are wrong.”
Mr. X- “Am I? They come, fight, they destroy, they corrupt. It always ends up the same.”
The Blond- “It only ends once. Anything that happens before that is just progress.”
Mr. X turns to the blond and asks, “Do you have any idea how badly I want to kill you?”
The Blond-“Yes.”
Mr. X- “One of these days, sooner or later I’m going to find a loop-hole, my friend.”
The Blond-“Well when you do, I’ll be right here.”
The gray haired Mr. X says, “Always nice talking to you Jacob.”
Jacob- “Nice talking to you too.”
Mr. X walks away and we see the complete statute standing there.

A light and dark blue pickup trucks outside the Ames Central convenience store.
A boy {w/ toy plane} and girl {w/backpack. Really?!}
The girl has a “plan” to execute but the boy won’t do it. She has to do the deed herself so she makes the boy be her lookout. {Plate XA7 023. Iowa Cattleman sticker}
Patsy Cline music plays. {The Grocer and a customer have conversation about the crops coming in real good this year; Frank bought the ol…Ames Road.}
The girl steals a New Kids on the Block lunch box while the boy ‘looks out’.
The Grocer grabs the girls arm; she’s caught.
He has her open her bag and asks “Where did you get it?” {Doesn’t he know?!}
He recognizes her as Diane Austen’s kid, Katie. He’s calling her mom and then the cops because he doesn’t tolerate stealing here. A man/Jacob tells the Grocer there’s no need to do that; he’ll pay for it. {I.D. required. And 6 pack of beer cost $4 bucks.}
The Grocer guesses if somebody pays for it, there’s no harm done.   The Grocer hands Jacob the lunch box and tells Katie he doesn’t want to see her in there ever again without her parents.
Jacob hands Katie the lunch box and squats down to her level and asks, “You’re not gonna steal anymore, are you?”
Little Katie shakes her head no.
Jacob touches her on the nose in a cute little gesture, “Be good, Katie.” And he walks away.

On the sub Kate and Juliet are cuffed sitting opposite of cuffed James.
Captain Bird welcomes everyone aboard via the intercom. They will be performing system checks off shore before heading out into the open ocean and submerging to their operational running depth.
Mitch is handing out sedatives.
The captain says they will be escorted to their sleeping berths, “Have a nice rest. See you on the other side.”      {Berth=birth. }
In the glow of red light Kate tells Juliet and James “We have to get out of here.”
James- “Outta here? We’re underwater.” {That’s what I’ve been saying!}
He asks Kate what she’s doing here, “How did you get caught?”
Kate- “I came back to get you.”
James asks what for and Juliet asks where Jack is.
Kate informs her Jack is on his way to blow up a Hydrogen bomb.
James-“Why the hell would he do that?”
Kate-“Does it matter? We have to stop him.”
James tells Kate he’s gonna have to pass. He heard what Kate said but he feels she just doesn’t get it. He goes on to tell her he and Juliet were happy in Dharmaville til they all showed up, “But now that’s all over. So we’re gonna drink our OJ and take our chances in the real world.
Jack wants to blow up the Island...Good for Jack.” {Static voice over intercom}

In the cave with the bomb, Jack asks if there's anything in there that says how they’re supposed to move a 10 ton bomb across the Island.
Sayid, who is reading the journal, corrects him; it’s 20 tons.
Sayid- “Fortunately it seems Faraday never intended to freight the device in its entirety…He left detailed instructions on how to remove the Plutonium core… and how to detonate it."
Jack shares with Sayid that Faraday said he needed to wipe out some kind of pocket of energy, “Is only part of the bomb gonna be enough to do that?”
Sayid-“The core itself is a thermonuclear weapon it will be more than enough.”
He hands Jack the journal.
Richard tells Sayid they “sealed that thing up 20 years ago and we put it underground because it was emitting radiation.”
He asks Eloise if it sounds like a good idea; after all she’s pregnant.
Eloise feels that is the reason they have to help them see this through.
She asks “Once the core is removed, then what?”
Sayid shares then they have approximately two hours to take it to the Swan site.
When Faraday returned to the Island he was very explicit about his timetable.
Jack says they better get moving. {Richard and Eloise share a very interesting look together}

Pissed off Radzinsky pulls up to the Swan site wanting to know who stopped the damn drill.
Cheng admits he did; because when they passed 70 meters the drill temp went up 60 degrees and he didn’t want it to melt.
Radzinsky feels that’s why they have a truck full of water, “So cool it down and turn it on.” {Gage} Cheng tells Stuart that they just evacuated the Island of all nonessential personnel; they’re on the verge of a possible insurrection, “Do you really think this is the ideal time for your experiments?”
Stu has been working on this project for six years, designing a station that will be able to manipulate electromagnetism in ways they only dreamed of.
Cheng-“Have you thought about the consequences of drilling into that pocket? We have no idea what…”
Radzinsky cuts him off, “If Edison was only worried about the consequences we’d all still be sitting in the dark. I came to this Island to change the world, Pierre.  And that’s exactly what I intend to do. LET’S GET IT STARTED!”
He starts up the drill. {The camera brings us down deep into the well.}


Thirty Years Later.

John leads the exodus to Jacob. He holds up his water canteen and tells everybody to take 5; they still got a ways to go to get to Jacob.
Sun asks Ben who Jacob is. Ben tells her he’s in charge of this Island.
Sun-“You said John was in charge.”
Ben-”No, I said he was the leader.  A title that I discovered is incredibly temporary. But everyone answers to someone and the leader answers to Jacob.”
Sun asks what he’s like.
Ben doesn’t know, “I’ve never met him.”
Richard seems as if he wants to say something to John.
John notices that Richards' been staring for the last 10 minutes, “Is there something you’d like to ask me?”
Richard shares that Ben told him he strangled John.
That indeed is John’s recollection.
Richard also shares Ben was sure he was dead, “He saw your coffin loaded onto that plane that you came back on. How are you alive?”
John comments that Richard has been on this Island a lot longer than he has and thinks if anyone should have an explanation to it, it should be Richard.
Richard admits to being on this Island a long time and he’s seen “things” that he can barely describe, “But I’ve never seen someone come back to life.”
John. “And I’ve never seen anyone who doesn’t age, it doesn’t mean it can’t happen.”
Richard says he’s that way because of Jacob and if he had to guess “he’s the reason you’re not in that coffin anymore.”
John agrees completely, “And that’s why I’m doing this. So I can thank him. Once I’ve done that, we’re gonna need to deal with the passengers from the Ajira flight that brought me here.”
Richard-“What do you mean deal with them?”
John- “You know what I mean.”
He yells to the group “LET'S GO!”
Richard looks concerned.

Ilana is rowing the outrigger with Bram and friends as Frank sleeps. They are carting the large silver cargo crate.
On shore Ilana tells the men to untie the crate.
Bram asks her why they brought the “Yahoo” along {Frank}.
Ilana feels they might need him.
Bram- “For what? He didn’t know the answer to the question.”
Ilana-“That doesn’t mean he’s not important.”
Bram asks if she thinks he’s a candidate.
Ilana lets Bram know that Frank is awake; he’s been pretending to sleep so he can listen to their conversation. Bram wonders how long he’s been listening.
Frank-“Long enough to wonder what the hell I’m a candidate for…Who the hell are you people?”
Ilana- “We’re friends.”
Frank remarks they "smack all their friends in the head with a rifle and kidnap them.”
Ilana- “Only the ones we like.”
They all share some water. The men take the crate off the outrigger. Frank asks what’s in the box.
Bram says it’s Ilana’s call to make if they reveal the contents. {AA823. Ajira. Cargo.}
The men open the lid, Frank sees inside and says, “Terrific.”

A white church is hosting a double funeral.
This beautiful sad little boy is James. He watches the men close the doors on the two coffins and were loaded into the cars.
The boy sits alone. {Crows in the background}
He has a notebook and a pen that won’t write.
Jacob, in a dark blue suit asks, “Need a pen, son?”
He digs in his jacket pocket and gives the boy the pen, “You can keep it.”   He touches the boy’s finger when giving him the pen.
Jacob looks at the child with compassion, “I’m very sorry about your mother and father, James.”
Jacob walks away with his hands in his pants pockets.

James continues writing his letter. {‘AND I KNOW...’}
A man walks over to James as Jacob is walking away {He never asks who that man was. Did he not see him?} and tells Jimmy they need to get going to the cemetery. He also asks what he’s writing.
Jimmy- “Nothing.”
The man takes the notebook and reads aloud what the boy wrote. {Dear Mr. Sawyer. You don’t know who I am, but I know who you are and I know what you done.}
He says to the boy, “Listen to me Jimmy. I know you’re angry at the man that did this to your momma and daddy and hell you got every right to be. But you gotta move on, Boy. They’re gone, and there ain't nothing you can do to change that. What’s done is done. Now promise me you’re not gonna finish that letter.”
Jimmy promises.
The man, “Let’s go say goodbye.”

On the sub Sawyer tries to get what Kate says straight. “Jack sets off the nuke which somehow resets everything, so flight 815 never crashes, it just lands in L.A. safe and sound and none of this ever happens.”
Kate’s concern is if Jack does this he can kill everyone on the Island.
Sawyer heard that part, “You aint hearing me, Kate. I made a choice and I’m stickin to it. I decided to leave and I’m leavin.”
Mitch comes in with their sedatives and Juliet knocks him out, takes his gun and corrects James saying “We decided to leave this Island, we did. And now we’re going back.”
Juliet takes Mitch’s keys and un-cuffs her and Kate.
Juliet-“We can’t just let those people die…You want out? You wanna stay here and whine about it?”
James is pissed but tells her to unlock the damn cuffs.

Captain Bird- “Galaga to base. The system check is complete. We’re locked on departure bearing and ready to leave the island.”
The voice on the other end says, “Roger that, Galaga. Have a safe trip See you on the return.”
The trio with a gun tells the Captain to surface the sub.
Juliet puts the gun against his throat tells him once they’re gone proceed on course and whatever he does do not take those people back to the Island.
Captain- “What if Horace tries to contact me? What am I supposed to say?”
Sawyer shoots the speaker, “You aint home.”
The Captain turns some knobs {Gage} surfaces the sub.


Underground Jack asks Sayid if he’s done with Faraday’s journal. Sayid tells him to take it as Sayid works on getting to the core. Jack checks the mag for the gun and Richard takes a sledgehammer.
Richard asks Jack about John, “Over 20 years ago a man named John Locke…He walked right into our camp and he told me he was going to be our leader.  Now, I’ve gone off the Island three times since then to visit him. But he uh…never seemed particularly special to me.”
Jack- “You said you had a question.”
Richard- “You know him. Locke?”
Jack says he knows him “And if I were you, I wouldn’t give up on him.”

Richard leads John’s group to Jacob.
John asks Ben why he hasn’t told Richard about John’s plans to see Jacob.
Ben assumed John wanted to keep his plans for murdering Jacob a secret.
John laughs, “When did that ever stop you?”
Ben started thinking differently after his dead daughter threatened to destroy him if he didn’t do everything John said.
John asks where did this happen.
Ben reveals it happened in the cavern beneath the temple when they went to see the monster.
John confirms that Ben is willing to do whatever he says, no matter what it is.
Ben begrudgingly says yes.
John-“Well then. I guess I won’t have to convince you after all.”
Ben-“Convince me to do what?”
John, “I’m not gonna kill Jacob, Ben. You are.” {John gives him one hell of a dirty look.}

Sayid lovingly asks Nadia, “Paris or Rome? Florence?”
It doesn’t matter to Nadia her as long as they’re together.
It matters to Sayid; it’s their anniversary, they have to find the perfect place.
Nadia just wants to find her sunglasses.
The traffic light at the corner changes from red to green allowing them to cross. {LaBrea}
Nadia digs through her bag looking for the sunglasses. As they begin to cross the street a lost man {Jacob, brown shirt} shows Sayid a map and needs help with directions, “Are you from Los Angeles?”
Sayid- “What are you looking for?”
Nadia turns to show Sayid she found them/sunglasses and is hit by a car. The car speeds off.
As she lies dying in the street she tells Sayid to “Take me home. Take me home.”
She dies.
His hand with his wedding ring wraps around her hand with wedding ring.

Sayid is wrapping the bomb.
He puts the core on his back {backpack} “Time is short. Let’s go.”
Richard, sledgehammer and his lantern lead the way. {The tunnels are lit up. So is the wall.}
He knocks on the wall until he finds a hollow spot then uses the sledgehammer to break through the highlighted wall. {Right through the Pyramid-Triangle stone}

This wall opens conveniently into the basement of a Dharma house. {Richard is very strong. Lol}
Jack offers to go in first but Eloise interjects, “Jack, don’t misunderstand who’s in charge here. I’ll go first. Because if someone at that house is a threat you might hesitate. But I won’t.”
She cocks the gun. Richard looks concerned.
Eloise tells Sayid once they give the "all clear" then they bring the bomb, “We don’t want any accidents…”
Richard knocks out pregnant Eloise! Richard tells Jack he’s “Protecting our leader.”
He tells Jack to get back and says that she’s gonna be angry when she wakes up but that’s a lot better than being dead. “She ordered me to help you, we helped you. Now you’re on your own. I’m taking her out the way we came in.”
Sayid and Jack move on.

Jack opens the basement door to the Dharma house.
The buzz alarm is heard outside along with chaos.
They can hear announcement over the PA. “All residents…We are in a code Black. Report with your weapons to your security assignments immediately. If you come in to contact with a Hostile you are authorized to use deadly force.”
They walk by a baby’s room.
Jack asks Sayid “How the hell are we gonna get out of here?”
Sayid-“We hide in plain sight.”   He puts on Horace's jumpsuit.

Outside amongst the chaos Sayid and Jack walk past the Dharma folk. Phil is giving perimeter instructions to a group of people to go to the pylons.  {Perimeter=circle}
From out of left field aging Roger Linus yells to Sayid accusing him of the man who shot his kid.
Sayid-“Don’t fire that weapon. I’m carrying a nuclear device…”
Roger shoots Sayid {WTF?! Nothing happens to the bomb.}
Jack snaps!! He fires at Roger! There’s a huge shootout.
Jack carries shot Sayid while shooting at the Dharma folk. {Killing a few}
To their rescue comes the blue Dharma Van driven by Hurley. {Jin and Miles are in the van too.}

The sub is submerging.
Kate, Sawyer and Juliet are on the raft headed back to the Island. Juliet looks back at the disappearing/descending sub.   Sawyer comments by the look of the sun the north shores gotta be over there.
Kate disagrees, “The sun’s over there, that’s gotta be the west coast.”
Sawyer-“Really? What? You got a compass?”
Kate-“No, do you?”
{Are they seeing the sun in two different places? Two different perspectives or does one have no sense of direction?}

On shore Kate thanks Juliet for backing her up at the sub.
Sawyer announces “I got no idea where the hell we are.”

A dog barks. {I jump up and down with excitement!!} Vincent runs over to Sawyer and {no collar-no attachments}
Sawyer is happy to see him, "How are ya, boy? I haven’t seen you since the flaming arrows three years ago!"
Juliet wonders how he survived alone out here.
Rose-“Oh hell no… Bernard!” {She has Vincent’s leash. Bernard runs out of the jungle looking like bearded mountain man with a walking stick.}
Rose is disappointed, “They found us.”
Bernard- “Son of a bitch.”

Hurley drives the Dharma van while Jack puts the bomb down and tends to bleeding Sayid. Miles asks if that’s a bomb.  {It's a core, damn it!!}
Jack tells Sayid, “Try not to move. I need to stop the bleeding.”
Hurley asks about Sayid but Miles tells him to keep his eyes on the damn road.  Hurley wonders if they should pull over, “I don’t know where we’re going.”
Jack tells him to head to the Swan, “If you wanna save Sayid take us to the Swan.”
Hurley- “Swan it is.”
Jin asks Jack what’s at the Swan. Jack tells him he thinks he found a way to get him back to his wife.

Rose and Bernard lead the trio to their cabin. Apparently they’ve been living out there in the jungle for the past three years by themselves.
Sawyer is sorry they got left behind, “Didn’t you hear me shout out meet at the creek?”
Bernard comments that with the chaos, flaming arrows raining down around us killing everyone we knew, “Sure we heard ya.”
Sawyer tells him they spent all sorts of time looking for them, “I sent Jin out searching the Island, grid by grid.”
Rose- “Yeah. We know.”
Rose knows they joined up with the Dharma Initiative.
Sawyer mentions he could have brought them in, “Why didn’t you find a way to tell us you were out here?”
Rose- “Because we’re retired.” {From what? The D.I.?} They’ve been scavenging Dharma food and living out in a hut by themselves.
Bernard- “People try their whole lives to get themselves a nice quiet place near the ocean where they can live in peace. We did it. That’s what we made for ourselves.”
Sawyer hates to rain on their parade but, “Your condo’s about to go KA-BLOOEY.”
Jack has a bomb.
Rose doesn’t care, “It’s always something with you people. Now you say Jack’s got a bomb and what, you guys are gonna go try and stop him, right?”
That’s right. {Kate takes off her dark Dharma jumpsuit}
Rose {looking at Kate}, “We traveled back 30 years in time and you’re still trying to find ways to shoot each other?”
Juliet says they just need to know “which way the Dharma barracks are from here so we can stop Jack. Or you’re gonna be dead. We all will.”
Bernard isn’t bothered by that, “So we die. We just care about being together. It’s all that matters in the end.”    {And that's the truth!}
Juliet looks at Sawyer but he looks at Kate. Kate doesn’t look at anyone.
Juliet sees all of this.
Rose-“The barracks are 5 miles that way.” {Points}
Sawyer says his goodbyes to Rose and Bernard. {Touching each of them}
Kate thanks them.
As they walk away Bernard asks Juliet specifically, “You sure you don’t want some tea?”
Juliet stops, “Maybe another time.” {Her hand on tummy. Plus, does Bernard know what’s next for her?}
Juliet follows Kate and Sawyer.

Ilana and crew carry the cargo crate. Frank wishes they never showed him what was in the box. He asks Bram what they’re gonna do with it.
Bram shares they need to show it to somebody, “So they know who they’re up against.”
Frank wonders what exactly are they up against.
Bram- “Something a hell of a lot scarier than what is in this box, Frank.”
He tells Frank not to worry, “as long as you’re with us, you’re fine.”
Frank feels that would be reassuring if he knew who they were, “Friend.”
Bram, in his dark tee shirt says, “We are the good guys.”
Frank- “In my experience, the people who go out of their way to tell you they’re the good guys are the bad guys."
Ilana-“We’re here.”
The cabin.
Bram notices the ash has been compromised.
This concerns Ilana. She goes in to take a look.


 One eye.
Ilana’s head is bandaged like a mummy; only one eye can see out.
She is in a very old run down clinic.
The Russian speaking nurse brings her water and tells her there is someone there to see her. Ilana sips from a straw.
The nurse explained her condition to the visitor but he insisted on seeing her anyway. She feels it would be good for Ilana to have a visitor.
Black gloved Jacob pulls up a chair by Ilana’s bed. {He’s wearing all black and dark blue, over coat and scarf.} He speaks Russian to her. He’s sorry he couldn’t make it sooner. {Why does he have a fucking schedule to keep?! But they must know each other.}
One eyed Ilana says she’s very happy to see him. {LOL!}
Jacob switches to speaking English, “I’m here because I need your help. Can you do that? Will you help me Ilana?”
Ilana says yes.
Ilana and rifle enter the charred cabin.  The only thing untouched it’s the painting of the dog. She takes a piece of tapestry off the wall. {It was held by machete.} She heads outside and tells Bram “He wasn’t there; hasn’t been in a long time. Someone else has been using it.” {Who? Christian? Mr. X.?}
She tells the guys to “Burn it.”
Frank is concerned this will torch the whole jungle.
Ilana shows Bram the piece of tapestry.
Bram- "Well, I guess we know where were going.” {Statue.}
The cabin goes up in flames.

Jacob sits on a bench reading Everything That Rises Must Converge. Behind him a body falls from above. Jacob nonchalantly puts a page marker in his book and walks over to sprawled out, face up John Locke. {Woman says call 911}
Jacob touches John’s left shoulder and John takes in a breath and opens his eyes.
Jacob tells John, “Don’t worry. Everything’s gonna be alright. I’m sorry this happened to you.”
John looks at Jacob.
Jacob walks away. {Jacob was waiting for John to fall from above and land on the ground!}

John and followers end up at their old beach camp that is in ruins.
John-“Home Sweet Home.”
John tells the group Richard says they should get to where they’re going by nightfall. They should take this opportunity to rest up, “Catch your breath. Considering what I have planned for ya, you’re gonna need it.”
Ben sits alone in thought. John comes over asks him if everything’s alright.
Ben- “I was enjoying some alone time.”
John-“You see what’s behind ya?”
Ben looks back, “It’s a door. How ‘bout that?”
John-“It’s not just a door, Ben. It’s the door to the hatch. Where you and I first met.”
John asks if he minds he ask a question.
Ben- “I’m a Pisces.” {The Fish}
John asks what happened that day at the cabin when he first took him to meet Jacob.
Ben-“You clearly already know that I was talking to an empty chair, John. That I was pretending. Which is not to say that I wasn’t as surprised as you were, when things started flying around in the room.”
John wonders why he went through all that trouble to make something like that up.
Ben- “I was embarrassed. I didn’t want you to know that I had never seen Jacob. So yes, I lied. That’s what I do.“
Ben asks why he wants him to kill Jacob.
John squats down, “Because…Despite your loyal service to this Island you got cancer. You had to watch your own daughter gunned down right in front of you. And your reward for those sacrifices…You were banished. And you did all this in the name of a man you’ve never even met. So the question is Ben, why the hell wouldn’t you wanna kill Jacob?”
Ben is in pain. John walks away.

Sun walks over to Claire’s old tent and turns over Aaron’s cradle/crib. {Made by Locke} She finds Charlie’s Drive Shaft ring. {Different color blanket.  Ring=Circle}

Sun holds Jin’s wedding ring. They are getting married. {Different dress. Different time?} She tells Jin she’s loved him since the first day they met, “I love the man you will become…” {How friggin handsome is Jin?!} She makes her promise and puts the ring on him.
Jin wrote his vows down.  {Jack was supposed to write his vows when marrying Sarah.}
Jin- “We will never be apart. Because being apart from you would be like the sky being apart from the earth. With this ring, I make my promises.”
They kiss. {Where’s Mr. Paik? When the fuck is this from?}
On the receiving line Auntie asks the happy couple when they will start a family.
Sun-“Maybe on our honeymoon.”
Jacob is next in line. {Dark suit} In Korean he says, “I’d like to offer you my blessing. Your love is a very special thing. Never take it for granted.”
He touches them both.
Sun asks Jin who that was.
Jin- “I don’t know. But his Korean is excellent.”

The Dharma Van speeds toward the Swan. Hurley tells them they’re about five minutes away.
Sayid- “You can’t stop the bleeding.”
Jack needs fresh dressings. Miles asks Jack about the bomb supposedly blowing them back in time.
Jack- “We not going back in time.”
Miles- "Right, because that would be ridiculous.”
Sayid says he needs to modify the bomb so it detonates on impact, “Jack we need to be there at the moment of the incident, or all of this will be for nothing.”
Hurley stops the van because Sawyer, Kate and Juliet are standing in front of it, blocking their way.





Things to note…Questions to ask... (So far)
* White, Black…what about the GRAY area?
* The “highlight colors” in this episode Blue, Purple and Gray.
* I feel the statue is fun but not real/imaginary. {only has 4 toes etc.} Even though I think the statue is hinting to a particular idol, it did seem to me the statue had a bit of additional "features" or a combination of features. As per a recent article for Popular Mechanics an Egyptologist mentions that “the pointy ears are a result of the imagination, and that, in actuality; the statue's sandals are Roman, not Egyptian.”
* When I hear certain words throughout the story I feel connected to other people.  Here with words like steal and kid, I'm brought to Christian and Jack. This happens to me often. especially I find I reference this with words like kiddo and bar.
* Time. Timer. Time Table. Time is short. Long time. Another Time. Alone Time. Years have passed.
* Life. Death. Berth/Birth. {Rebirth}  Zen Buddhism
* Richard and company did not seal up the bomb they only hid it.
* Does Richard love Eloise? Whose baby is she carrying?
* Moral compass. Map. Direction. Levels.
* Alcohol. Sedatives. Knock out. Sleep. Rest. Awake.
* Illusion. Pretending. Game.
* Cool things down. Don’t melt. Officer Winter

* In 1977 Richard tells Jack he went off the island 3 times to visit John Locke. {Since 1957. Keep in mind we are given a few different birth dates for John, November 15, 1946 - March 30, 1956. And May 30th, 1956}
* Events out of order…
* Knowing that the Jacob and Mr. X need to catch their own food, cook and eat it, was a very important bit of info. If they were "supernatural beings" I would imagine there would be no need for "food" or warmth and shelter. We’ve seen Jacob with money, current clothes, traveling by taxi. This is one of the main reasons why I feel we need to be careful not to be distracted by certain things.
* Jacob speaks Russian. Mikhail spoke Russian. {So did Miss Klugh}
* Charlie Pace.
* Jacob and Ben are connected in Nadia’s death.
* Gates. Hell. Underworld. Underground. Underwater.
* How was Ilana able to find the cabin right away?
* People/Being’s hiding in plain sight. Misrepresenting themselves. Who else isn’t who/what we think? Hmmm.
* Rose and Bernard’s hut looks like a cabin. Rose and Bernard, dark and light. Retired and living in a cabin filled with love and peace. They found their place. Balance.
* LOOPHOLE. We've seen these used before.



Vocabulary and Research...
* The name "Jacob" is related to Jewish history and culture. In the biblical story of Jacob, Jacob tells a lie to his father Isaac, in order to steal the first-born birth-right from his older brother Esau. According to classic Jewish texts, Jacob lived a life that paralleled the descent of his offspring, the Jewish people, into the darkness of exile.
- Jacob the Liar is a novel written by Jurek Becker in 1969.
* Swan-Cygnus. An adult female is a Pen.
* Gage-Something, as a glove, thrown down by a medieval knight in token of challenge to combat. Also a medieval name meaning defining one.
* Gage Creed. Character in Stephen King’s Pet Semetary. After being buried in the Pet Semetary he is reanimated back to life.
* An electromagnet is made from a coil of wire which acts as a magnet when an electric current passes through it, but stops being a magnet when magnetic field disappears {current ceases}. Often an electromagnet is wrapped around a core of ferromagnetic material like steel, which enhances the magnetic field produced by the coil.
* The Incident-The Incident was a Royalist plot to kidnap a group of Scottish nobles.

The structure of Duat and the dangers faced there by the souls of the dead are detailed in texts such as the Book of Gates and the Book of the dead. The Duat was located beneath the earth where Osiris presided over the dead. It was believed that the sun on its journey through the Duat, brought light and revitalization to the deceased, including Osiris, and with whom they were to arise in the morning.
* The most famous scene from the discussions of Duat is the Weighing of the Heart, in which the dead were judged by Anubis, using a feather, representing Ma’at, the goddess of truth and justice. She was responsible for maintaining order in the universe after having eliminated the emptiness of chaos at the beginning of creation.

In the meantime, watch out for wolves in sheep’s clothing and other people who find loopholes as really a way to cheat their way out of something.  I've always said to be careful, people and things are not what you think they are.

Which side of the chess board are you on? Light or Dark?  Dark doesn't mean it's automatically the bad side and Light doesn't automatically make it the good side. Think about it.

Please forgive me; I had to deviate from my usual episode clues blog this week. I will post that in its entirety soon.

When the finale was over I thought to myself where the hell do I begin to share my thoughts on it. The finale brought up so many deep emotions in me, bringing me to uncontrollable tears, that I almost felt like it would have been easier to just re-post the only personal blog I ever wrote to represent this episode. But I’m sure this is just due to my own emotional connection and battle with destiny.

We’re all so enchanted by meeting Jacob but we still shouldn't let our guard down. We can’t let this distract us from all the other puzzle pieces and trips we all have taken through this labyrinth and down into the rabbit hole.

METAPHORS AND SUBLIMINAL HINTS GALORE!
You know how much I love that!
First things first: All through the episode we heard talk of "core of the bomb”.
We’re not really talking about the “core” of the bomb, it is about HEART!!!{Core is from Latin "cor" meaning "heart”.

Two Players, two sides, one light, one dark: playing pieces are moved according to the roll of dice.


Players win by removing all of their pieces from the board. Luck and strategy play a part.
There are cheating methods used.





Locke teaches Waaaalt about the history of Backgammon.
He also asks Walt if he wants to know a secret.











Chess: Pawns, sacrifices, rules and cheating.
Since the very beginning and countless times over I have talked about things we see being part of a living breathing chess game that is taking place on the “Island.”
Our Castaways represent pieces placed on the game board being moved around, then there's the game sacrifices and being removed from the game board or playing field. I’ve even tackled clue words used in the story as being directly associated with chess. You can check some of that out here.
There are laws of chess. We know white makes the first move and the goal is to keep the king safe. So who is the king?

Candidate was used a few times in the episode. This word is a derivative of the Latin candidus or "candida" meaning White.  Does this help us figure who is on the white team?

I say Chess is the ultimate mind game. Not only do you need to plan your next move and subsequent moves, but also the moves and anticipated future moves of your opponent.
Benjamin Frankly said, "The Game of Chess is not merely an idle amusement; several very valuable qualities of the mind, useful in the course of human life, are to be acquired and strengthened by it, so as to become habits ready on all occasions; for life is a kind of Chess, in which we have often points to gain, and competitors or adversaries to contend with, and in which there is a vast variety of good and ill events, that are, in some degree, the effect of prudence, or they want of it. By playing at Chess then, we may learn: Foresight,Circumspection, and Caution {not to make our moves too hastily.}

I can’t forget Mikhail talking to John about the computer chess game in the Flame.
Mikhail- “It was programmed by 3 Grand Masters. And it cheats."
Locke- "Hmmm. Well I've played a lot of computers and I'm pretty sure they don't know how to cheat. That's what makes being human so distinctly wonderful."
Of course there's the loophole issue. {Means escape or a gap in law a small mistake or omission in a rule or law}
Mr. X supposedly found a loophole in the game via John Locke. Exactly how did this work? Did Mr. X only take advantage of said loophole because of the supposed 'time skipping'? Or did he have access to John's physical image long before that?
At this point the game continues and apparently has been going on for a very, very long time. Who knows...maybe at this point there are two queens left on the board?






There is no doubt that besides the game element being signed sealed and delivered here; we still see that these lost people are learning.
Learning to deal with being lost and having to grow from that, to find themselves and reach a new level.
Enlightenment.
Right now is it their moral compass that isn't pointing north?
They are learning other things as well. Many of them have taken on many different roles and jobs. A few even speak different languages.


Are we really completely in control of destiny or is there some mystical force that nudges us to keep us on the path or to make other things fall into place for someone else's path? I thought our future isn’t written yet. Or is it? There are so many people involved in keeping the island residents on their paths. Why? Do we all have a purpose and a destiny?

We see Jacob in young Kate and Sawyer's environment. Then Jacob is with grown Jack in a life defining moment, and later he shows up with Hurley and then to Sayid. With Sayid, Jacob was the cause of Nadia's death. Of course I understand that could be what had to happen to motivate Sayid into the next move but what about Nadia’s path? Was it always her destiny to die at this point?

As far as young Kate, what was the purpose of Jacob showing up in her life?
He didn’t deter her from a life of crime or bad choices, maybe he encouraged it. Are these people forever bound to that way of life because that's what's in their hearts? But how can you change what is in their hearts?

Jacob being in the Castaway’s lives and then them ending up on the "Island" proves they didn’t end up on the "Island" by chance.   Plus we know there are other players involved in manipulating the Castaways to the "Island" more than once.  I can't help but wonder if Richard arrived on the Black Rock (of course) but also how many of the other island residents also arrived with him. I know a long time ago I wrote that it would be amazing to see a very old sepia photo of the team from the Black Rock, and in that photo would be our island residents. But of course a few of them showed up in the Dharma photo in 1977. Could it be that it's always been the same people running through these things over and over and for over a hundred years?! Sounds like a fun premise, huh?!

Back to the matter at hand...What does Jacob accomplish by meeting these Castaways?

Religion: Is it possible that the teachings of the entire world’s religious beliefs (mostly Zen Buddhism) have been utilized in teaching the players morals and the potential knowledge for enlightenment?
Philosophy: We know is the study of general problems concerning matters such as existence, knowledge, truth, beauty, law, justice, validity, mind, and language. Again, is it a teaching tool for their development? Plus a few of them are named with Philosophers names.
Lineage: We see there is some sort of lineage to the “Island”. More on that later.
Visions, Dreams and Hallucinations: What’s with all of this? Is it just all memory? Things are happening while they are in an altered state.
Conscious mind: Oh yeah! This is still a HUGE part of the story. Experiences in their consciousness while on the path to enlightenment.
Tricks, Illusion, Razzle Freakin Dazzle: Yep, it's still there right along with the con.
Why see the numbers all over the place, different versions of things, 'no identity' or 'many identities', sleeping, whispers, repeated names, same items and people showing up in each other's lives and environment, {example-Kate having only Patsy Cline music} and so much more. Things still seem very manipulated to me.


We've seen a re-birth of John Locke before.



I believe we've seen John "re-charged" a few times. More on that in future post.


Now on to Tabula Rasa. When I watched this episode a few years ago, I watched it with headphones. Why? Cause I’m crazy like that. To my surprise there was something huge that jumped out at me and I had to share it with my friend B. Quain to get his opinion on if what I thought I heard was really there or was I just certifiable. I told him as the very last note rings out in the final scene {Locke watches Michael, Waaaaalt and Vincent very intensely} the sound of the monster is intertwined with that last note as the camera comes around to show us Locke. B.Quain checked it out (With his fancy movie equipment) and he called me back right away. With excitement in his voice he confirmed the monster sound is indeed there. I didn’t know what to make of this discovery for the longest time other than constantly questioning why this would be. So I left that potential clue alone until this finale aired. (It has been mentioned in my past posts The finale seemed to resurrect this Tabula Rasa scene for me. B.Quain and I will discuss this more in our podcast for sure.













Questions to ask...
* Was John's whole purpose on the "Island" (to bring the family back together) just to die and have Mr. X take over his identity?
* Who is on what side?
* They are all still lost people.
* Why the hell are the flashes very modern? Especially Juliet’s flash/memory?
* Is there some sort of farming of these people going on? Breeding, cultivating, trying to create a perfect being?   Or just Nurturing...Evolving.
* What is real and what is not?
* Are there any other people on the “Island” with Jacob and Mr. X?
* Did Mr. X. also travel to and from the "Island" to visit with future residents?
* If things aren't real on the "island" {Rather happening in the conscious mind), are these two men really living in the "real world" and we're just seeing them in this environment or are they part of the bigger "real" picture? I'm just asking!

The Incident is not just about Juliet making the core blow up, but also about the actions of Ben stabbing Jacob. I am looking forward to detailing more with my full post of notes.

With the reveal of Jacob and Mr. X, I need to know “what” they are.   Are they gods from an ancient world? Are they just two men involved in something massive and are in charge of watching these lost people or are they aliens?
Isn't it possible these two men are representing {in a metaphoric manor of course} a "part" that lives inside all of us? I think so.






Why oh why do I seem to come back to one of the very first clues we got when the show first started? That would bring me back to ever important, special and blessed Hurley and his comic book The Flash and Green Lantern- Faster Friends.







No one is one dimensional.
Are we the weavers of our own tapestry or is there a crafty puppet master with a giant loom putting the whole thing together? Is destiny in our hands, yet helped along with the nudge of a guardian? Maybe we’re really all just pawns in some other worldly chess game.
Well, we do know that things aren’t just black and white here. We’ll have to explore the gray area and see what we find.

What if Jacob’s comment about "they’re coming" is meaning the new generation of guardians to the island such as Aaron, Ji Yeon and Charlie?    If it’s not, have we yet to see more players in the game or another delivery of Castaways?

Until I post my full post I leave you with this...I know this has been my "theme" the past few weeks but it's true... You can’t change the past, you can only learn from it. If there are any changes you want to make, make them now because I'd like to believe you are the author of your own biography.
In the end all that really matters is love. So ask yourself what's really in your heart?
