LaFleur.

Let's talk about LOST! LaFleur.

Sawyer turns his eyes away from the bright light coming up from the well. He’s still holding the rope that lowered John down into the well.
Miles tells Sawyer, “I think you can let go of that now.”
The rope is completely covered by earth.
Sawyer freaks out that John is down there and he wants to get John out.
Juliet- “James. Stop. We can’t help him. Wherever John went, he’s gone. And wherever we are is before that well was ever built.”
Miles-“Yeah. Way before.”
Jin in GREAT English asks Miles, “What make you?...”
They all see the backside of what appears to be an Egyptian statue looking out over the water. At the same time...

...John is calling out for James’ help from inside the well. John makes his way, limping to the “Stuckwheel.
He pulls it back.    Sawyer and the group start grabbing their heads, experiencing the bright light and hummm. FLASH...

The group is on the ground, having felt the effects of severe pain in their heads.
Juliet- “What the hell was that?”
This time the “bright light” experience was different, more like an earthquake.
Sawyer looks up to see the well has returned!  There are also other ruins around them.   He runs to jump into it to go after Locke but the well seems to have been closed up with rocks and earth.  They all discover their headaches are gone and their noses aren’t bleeding anymore.
Juliet thinks, “It’s over. I think John did it.”
Jin, in great English asks, “Now what?”
Sawyer- ”Now we wait for him to come back.”
For how long, you ask...
Bearded Sawyer-”As long as it takes.”

3 Years Later.

A Reel-to-Reel tape loaded up for play.  The song Candida plays. {The stars won’t come out, if they know that you’re around.}
Jerry/Dharma Security and Rosie dance to the tune. {Geronimo Jackson shirt/ red white and blue} They are in a security station with eight monitors.
Phil enters and asks the couple, “Are you kidding me? I’m gone 10 minutes and you’re having a hootenanny.”
Jerry tells him he should be thanking Rosie for dropping off some brownies. Phil tells Jerry she shouldn’t be there, “We’re on the clock, man.”
Jerry wants him to “Mellow out, man. What’s gonna happen… the polar bears are gonna figure a way out of their cages?”
Phil argues that’s not the point, if LaFleur finds out what he’s doing… Rosie sees something on a monitor.
Phil wonders, “Is that a hostile?”
Nope. It’s Horace. He’s at the pylons, drunk and playing with dynamite. He lights a stick and throws it beyond the pylons at a tree. Phil freaks and yells for Rosie to get out of there now!
Phil told Jerry “not to bring her here.”
The situation is bad. It’s three in the morning and they’ll have to wake up LaFleur. The guys reconsider that for a second, maybe they can handle it themselves, but…What if Horace blows himself up and LaFleur kills them for not waking him!
Phil- “We gotta go, NOW!”

They run through the dark to the Dharma Initiative village. Neither has the nerve to knock on the door to get LaFleur. Finally Phil knocks and the porch light goes on.   Phil apologizes for bothering Mr. LaFleur but they have a situation out at the pylons.  The door opens, they tell La Fleur that Horace has dynamite and he’s blowing up trees LaFleur, Head of Security is revealed to be Sawyer.

A horn honks; signaling Miles/Security he needs to hurry. Relax, he’s coming. He is also Dharma security.
Miles gets in the VW bus/van, says “Hi boss” to LaFleur {Wearing glasses.}
LaFleur-“Evening Enos. Got your zapper with ya?”
They’re gonna need it because “Our fearless leader is out blowing up trees.”    He’s doing that because he’s loaded.
Miles-“Since when does Horace drink?”
LaFleur tells him he doesn’t, “So we’re gonna keep this on the down low.”

A small fire burns, Miles and LaFleur come upon a sleeping/passed out Horace; still holding his bottle. Miles is instructed to put out that fire and pack up this dynamite, La Fleur will take him home. Miles wants to know why those chores can’t be the other way around.
La Fleur-“You wanna tell Amy where we found him?”
I guess not.
Miles helps him pick up Horace.

Three knocks on the door.  LaFleur carries Horace.   Pregnant Amy answers the door, “OMG. Is he OK?”
LaFleur-“You tell me.”
Amy tells him to put Horace on the couch. {Owl} She can smell his breath.
Amy- “Where’d you find him?”
She’s told, “by The Flame blowing up trees with dynamite.”
Apparently the reason for this behavior is because Horace and Amy had a doozy of a fight.
Amy-“Please, Jim. It’s personal.”
Jim- “Personal? You think this isn’t gonna get out? It’ll be on the coconut telegraph by breakfast.”
Amy admits the fight was about Paul. Amy just happens to go into labor.

3 Years Earlier.

Sawyer, Juliet, Jin and Miles come upon a distraught Dan, crying and mumblingI won’t tell her…don’t even tell her.”
Sawyer whispers to Juliet, “Where’s Red?”
Dan, still mumbling, “No. I won’t do it... I won’t...I won’ tell her.
Juliet asks him if he’s okay.
Dan, crying, tells her, “I’m not gonna do it. I’m not gonna tell her.
Dan looks like he’s somewhere else.  Juliet asks him where Charlotte is.
Dan-“She’s not here. Sh, She’s gone.”
He explains to Juliet she was dead, there was another Flash and then she was gone… ”her body just…disappeared. She moved on and we stayed.”
Sawyer questions Dan, “We stayed? We’re not traveling through time anymore?  You sayin its over?”
Dan replies to him as if he asked a ridiculous question, “Of course its over. Wherever we are now, Whenever we are now, We’re here for good.
Juliet kind nods her head.
Dan repeats again, “I won’t do it. I won’t. I’m, I’m not gonna…
Sawyer tells Juliet, “OK. Swell. Until Dan checks back in I say he head back to the beach. When Locke gets back with everybody that’s where they’ll be looking for us.”
Miles thinks the beach is a stupid idea, “What? You didn’t get enough flaming arrows shot at you? And your camp is gone. Why bother?”
Juliet smirks and tells Miles Sawyer’s right, they should go back to the beach, “We survived there before, we can do it again.”
Annoyed Miles remarks about “maybe” Sawyer wanting to go to the Orchid again after getting to the beach, then when that gets boring they can head back to the beach again, “It’s the only two plans you people have.”
Sawyer tells him to “Zip it.” He’s heading back to the beach. If their stuff’s there great, if not they’ll build new stuff, “You don’t like the plan, Good luck.”
Miles asks Juliet, “Who put him in charge?

Miles plays with a stick. Jin gives an interesting look at Dan. Sawyer thanks Juliet for getting his back with the whole beach issue. She says he should thank her, it was a stupid idea. {WTF?!} Bur she feels any plan is better than no plan.
Beside if she hadn’t agreed with him they’d still be arguing about where to go next, “I just hope you figure out something better before we get there.”
Sawyer’s open to suggestions.  He doesn’t see the smile on her face.  All of a sudden two shots ring out!  Sawyer and Juliet aim their rifles. The very faintly they hear voices/cries. They see a woman crying, begging the two men not to hurt him, “No. Please. We didn’t know! We’re sorry we didn’t mean/need anything.”   They were just touring the park.   A man lies on the ground in a Dharma jumpsuit; its Paul.   It looks like one man picks up a gun from near Paul on the ground. They put a bag over her head.
Juliet asks Sawyer who he thinks they are.
Miles doesn’t care who they are; they don’t even know “when” they are.
Miles turns to Dan, who is sitting quiet and distant, “Hey, Dan, we don’t’ get involved, right? That’s what you said.”     {When did he say that?}
Dan, speaking normal, tells him it doesn’t matter what they do, whatever happened, happened.
Sawyer- “Thanks anyway, Plato.”
Sawyer’s going over there; he makes sure Juliet still has his back.
Sawyer goes in.
The bagged woman is begging for Paul to talk to her.   There is a picnic set up.
Juliet shoots the short haired guy. Sawyer shoots the long haired guy. {Note the colorful flowers around the immediate area.}
Juliet and Sawyer take the guns from the ground. Sawyer removes the bag from the woman’s head and tells her it’s all right. “It’s Okay. You’re safe. It’s over.”
She’s asks who he is. {Watch the three of them from when the bag gets pulled off.}

Amy cries over Paul’s body {She’s sitting very weird.}
Dan watches her.  Juliet touches {searches} the body of one of men shooters and comments that Amy’s “friend’s wearing a Dharma jumpsuit. That puts us in the 70’s, 80’s.”
Sawyer asks her if the guys with the bags, “Others?
Juliet- “Beats me.”
Sawyer- “What? Ya’ll don’t know each other?”
Juliet- “Before my time.”
Jin tosses Sawyer a walkie that from one of the shooters.  Juliet looks very annoyed and says they need to go. There’s static on the walkie.    Sawyer tells Sweetheart Amy they need to get moving now.
She asks, “Who are you people?”
Sawyer tells her their ship wrecked on the way to Tahiti, but that ain’t important right now. He’s concerned that whoever is on the other side of the walkie might have given them a call before they saved her.   {These "Hostiles" have walkies?!}
Amy tells him they have to bury the bodies.  They ain’t got time to bury nobody!   Amy insists they bury the bodies, “The truce...”   She is very upset and crying. She also wants to bring Paul’s body home.    Amy begs, so Jin offers to carry him.
Sawyer okay’s the “putting these guys in the ground and carry your friend back.”
But they better do it fast. Amy admits “he” wasn’t her friend, “he” was her husband. {How did they bury two bodies fast without shovels? I’m just asking!}

Amy leads the way to Dharma village.
Jin carries Paul
.
Sawyer tells the group when they get there there will be a lot of questions. He wants to do all the talking. {Just like Jack did with the Oceanic 6.}
Miles sarcastically questions if Sawyer can really convince them they were in a boat wreck.
Sawyer-“I’m a professional. I used to lie for a living.”  {Look how far he’s come.}
Juliet screams for Dan to “STOP!”
They arrive at the pylons.  Juliet tells Amy to turn it off.
Amy plays stupid, “Turn what off?”
Juliet- “Whatever it is. It looks like some sort of sonic fence or something.”
Concerned Amy- “Where did you say your ship was going?”
Sawyer’s not taking that crap from her, “Listen sister, we’re the ones who just saved your life and hid those bodies. So how bout you trust us and turn that damn thing off?
Amy enters a code on the keypad; she also takes something out from behind the keypad panel that lifts up. {Hiding place.}
Sawyer whispers to Juliet, “Sonic fence? Didn’t I say I’d do all the talking?”
Juliet- “One more step and Dan would have fried his brain.”
Sawyer-“His brain’s already fried.” {It sure is!!}
Amy tells them it’s off. Sawyer wants her to go through it first and she does. You can hear a high pitch buzz when she walks through. She’s fine.
Sawyer’s pleased, “...going forward, we should all do a better job of trusting...” The high pitch buzz of the fence takes them all down. They convulse on the ground.
The buzz only lasts a few seconds. Amy reveals she had earplugs in to protect her from the buzz.

3 Years Later.

Amy’s in labor; she screams in pain.
The doctor asks LaFleur if her husband knows she’s in labor. He’s unavailable. The doctor’s concerned because the baby’s breech, that means upside down. She needs a Caesarian. Sawyer doesn’t want to be told about it, instructs the Dr. to just do it. Unfortunately this Doctor is an internist not an obstetrician.
The Dr. informs La Fleur “Our women always deliver on the mainland. {Oh really?!} The sub was supposed to be here on Tuesday. The baby’s two weeks early.”
La Fleur asks the Dr. if he can deliver this baby or not. The doctor doesn’t know.

LaFleur heads down to the Dharma "motor pool” to retrieve Juliet. She is hard at work underneath a VW Van/Bus. Juliet, from below, asks LaFleur “What’s up?”
He whispers to her Amy is having her baby and she’s in trouble. LaFleur pulls her up so they can talk. He tells her the Doc said Amy needs a caesarian and he never “done one”.
LaFleur guesses Juliet has. Upset Juliet wants to stick with their agreement. After all, every time she tries to help a woman on “this” island give birth, it hasn’t worked. {Maybe she’s a better mechanic.”}
He suggests that maybe what ever made that happen hasn’t happened yet. She’s gotta try and help her, “You’re the only one that can.”
Angrily, Juliet concedes.

Juliet feels Amy’s belly, questions the Dr., “The baby’s breech?” {She can’t tell? Lol} She then asks, “Did you try an external cephalic version?"
No he didn’t; it’s probably too late. Juliet runs down a list of supplies she’s going to need. {No one asks how a mechanic knows these terms or knows how to deliver a baby?}
Dr.-“You’re gonna need? Where’s Horace?”
Sawyer speaks on Horace’s behalf; Juliet’s delivering this baby.
The Dr. doesn’t think it’s a good idea, but Amy wants her to do it. Sawyer gives Juliet a pep talk, telling her she’ll do great.
Juliet gets into Dr. mode, tells Amy to “Shhhh”, puts on her stethoscope for a listen.

Sawyer paces like a daddy in waiting outside the infirmary. A woman exits door 6.
Jin, in perfect English asks La Fleur if everything’s okay. He knows Amy’s in labor.
LaFleur fills him in on there being a problem. Jin/Security is concerned Juliet is in there. LaFleur pulled her out of retirement. {Literally}
He asks Jin, “Any luck?”
Jin tells him they finished grid 1 3 3 today, “No sign of our people. No one.”
Well, it’s on to 1 3 4 then.
Jin- ”How long do we look, James?”
James-“As long as it takes.”
Emotional Juliet comes out, dressed in white scrubs, announcing, “It’s a boy.”
Everyone’s okay!
James is happy and proud.

Sawyer wakes up on the couch in the game room.
{NOTE! We did not get any “3 years earlier” notice here!}
Horace asks, “How’s your head?
It hurts.
Sawyer-“Where are my people?”
Horace tells him they’re fine. Amy told him what happened in the jungle and he appreciates what he did. He also explains they have a certain defense protocol. “There are hostile indigenous people on this island and we don’t get along with them. So why don’t you tell me who the hell you are.”
Sawyer- “My name's James La Fleur.”
Horace can call him Jim. Horace asks Jim how he got to the island.
James- “If my friends are safe, why are you asking me all the questions?”
Horace says his friends said he needed to talk to him, “That you’re the boat captain.”
Jim says they got caught in a storm, “our ship wrecked. Must have hit the reef. Thankfully we washed up on shore.”
Jim takes a glass of milk. Horace asks him what kind of ship.
Jim-“A salvage vessel searching for a famous lost wreck. It’s an old slaver out of Portsmouth, England called the Black Rock. Ever heard of her?”
Horace can’t say that he has. “So, once you got washed up on shore, why were you then wandering around in the jungle.
Jim explains they were looking for some missing crew and stumbled upon his girl instead. Horace tells him if his crew shows up, “we’ll send them along with ya.”
Horace reveals there’s a submarine that leaves “this” island first thing in the morning. Jim and his friends are gonna get on it, it will drop them off in Tahiti. “You can find your way home from there.”
Jim- “Hold on a minute Chief. We just saved that woman’s life, doesn’t that earn us a week or two to find the rest of our people?”
Nope.
Horace tells Jim the only people who are allowed to stay on this compound are members of The Dharma Initiative. He doesn’t want Jim to take this the wrong way but “You are not Dharma material.”
Red haired Horace walks away.

Warm night; the residents of Dharma village go about their business.
Sitting around a table are Miles, Jin, Dan and Juliet.
Miles comments, “We’re screwed. He’s probably trying to explain time travel by now.”    Juliet feels Sawyer will be fine. Miles asks what she’s looking at. Juliet tells them she lived there for over three years, “That was my house over there.” {Glasses of milk on the table}
Miles- “You were in the Dharma Initiative?”
No. The Other's took over the barracks and wiped out most of the people living in them. “They brought me here on a sub a long time after that.”
Miles- Well. Welcome home.”
Jin asks Daniel, “No more Flash?”
Dan, sadly, “No. No more Flash. The record is spinning again. We’re just not on the song we want to be on.
A little red haired girl, “Where’s dad?” {Woman with her has a British accent} She waves.
Dan whispers, happily, “Charlotte.”

Horace tells the foursome somebody will be along shortly to show them to their rooms. In the meantime Mr. La Fleur will fill them in on the situation.
Sawyer tells Miles, LaFleur is Creole; he improvised. {lol! Improvised on the script.}
Sawyer tells him Horace believed his story but, they are getting punted. “The bastard’s putting us on the sub tomorrow and shipping us off to Tahiti.”
Miles doesn’t see that as bad news. A loud alarm sounds and floodlights go on. The residents scramble to get inside for safety.
Phil/Security tells them to get inside, “Move!”
He moves them to a house where Heather, with a gun, can keep an eye on them. They all look out windows to see the action. There is Richard with his torch. Juliet closes her eyes when she sees Richard.
Sawyer- “Uh oh!”

Richard stands outside waiting for Horace. They say hello’s using formal names.
Horace-“I wish you would have told me you were coming, I would have turned the fence off for you.”
Richard-“That fence may keep other things out, but not us. The only thing that does keep us out is our truce. Which you have now broken.”
Horace plays stupid and says he doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
Richard-“Where are my two men?”
From the window, Miles can see the men’s conversation getting heated. He thinks getting on the sub is starting to sound like a great idea. “What do you say? Sub. Anyone?”
Sawyer tells Bonsai to hold his horses. No one’s getting on a sub.
Horace storms in asks La Fleur “How well did you bury those bodies?”
Jim-“That depends on how hard he looks.”
Horace tells Phil to call The Arrow, tell them we’re at condition 1. “Take the heavy ordnance and make sure the fence is at maximum.”
Jim wants to talk to Horace’s buddy out there with the eyeliner.
Horace informs him they had a truce with these people.
Jim understands, “I’m the one who killed his men. And I’m the one who’s gonna go out there and tell them why I did it.”
Horace can’t let him do that. Well, Jim aint asking permission.
Juliet stops him at the door, “James. Are you sure you know what you’re doing?”
Not yet, but he’ll figure something out.

Richard sits waiting on the park bench.“Hello, Richard.”
Scruffy Richard asks if they know each other.
James- “I’m the guy that killed your men.”
He goes on to tell Richard those events. How one of the men took a shot at him, he defended himself. That’s so.
Richard-“You’re people know that you’re telling me this?”
James-“Aint my people, Hoss. So if you’ve got some kind of a truce with them, it aint been broken.”
Richard asks if he’s not a member of the Dharma Initiative then, “what are you?”
Sawyer sits next to Richard, asks if he buried the hydrogen bomb with Jughead written on the side. “Did you bury it?”
Yep, Sawyer knows about it. He also knows that “20 years ago some bald fella limped into your camp and fed you some mumbo jumbo about being your leader. And then poof, he went and disappeared right in front of ya. Any of this ringing a bell?...That man’s name is John Locke.  And I’m waiting for him to come back.”
Richard looks as if he can’t believe what he’s hearing.
Sawyer- “So, do you still think I’m a member of the damn Dharma Initiative?
Richard-“No. I guess I don’t. But no matter who you are, two of my men are dead, and my people need some kind of justice. What are we gonna do about that?”

Paul, still in his Dharma jumpsuit, lies on the bed.   Amy watches over him. Horace comes in with LaFleur, asks how she’s doing.    She asks if Alpert’s gone.  Horace tells her no, he’s not gone.    He tells Amy they told Richard where the bodies were; they had to. It was the only way to maintain the truce. Jim worked it out with him, but he wants something from them in return. “He needs to take Paul’s body back with him.”
She cries.
Horace shares with her they’ve been friends a long time, this is completely her choice. “If you don’t wanna give him to them, then we will suffer the consequences.”
Amy- “They can take him. He would wanna keep us safe.”
She asks for a minute. She cries, and takes the Ankh on the dark cord from his neck and puts it to her lips. She walks by LaFleur; he says he’s sorry. James offers Horace help, but Horace got it.
Horace tells Jim the sub's leaving tomorrow, it returns in two weeks. Until then they can stay “and look for the rest of your crew.”
Jim thanks him.

Juliet sits on the dock where the sub is docked.
Sawyer- “Bought us 2 weeks.”    He tells her Horace said we could wait for the next sub, “With any luck, Locke will be back by then.”
Then what?
Juliet- "Locke said he was leaving to save us. The Flashes have stopped. They’re over. No more bloody noses. We’re already saved.” {huh?!} She tells him that sub behind him brought her there. She’s, “been trying to get off this island for more than 3 years, and now I’ve got my chance. I’m going to leave.”
He looks troubled, asks if she realizes it’s 1974. Whatever it is she thinks she’s going back to don’t exist yet. {WTF?}
Juliet- “It’s not a reason not to go.”
But what about him?!
James- “You’re really gonna leave me here with the Mad Scientist and Mr. 'I speak to dead people'? And Jin, who’s a hell of a nice guy, but not exactly the greatest conversationalist.”
He wants to know who’s gonna get his back. {Well, wasn’t that just fucking sweet?} He asks her for two weeks.
They both smile. All right, she’ll give him two weeks.

Three Years Later.

A Chess game is being played.
LaFleur picks a pretty flower; he even smells it!
There are flowers in a vase on a table set and ready for eats! Salad, tomato, Dharma wine. LaFleur enters the house, “Something smells good.” {What’s with all the vegetables? Vegetarians}
Juliet cooked.  He gives her the flower; after all, she was amazing today. They hug.
Juliet-“Thank you for believing in me.”
More kissing.
Juliet- “I love you.”
He loves her too. {OMFG!}

LaFleur, in glasses, reads a {blue} book {no title}, “Wake up, Boss.”
Horace wakes up.
LaFleur-“How’s your head?”
It hurts.
LaFleur got good news and bad news.
Horace wants the good news first.
He’s a daddy. The bad news is he missed it.
LaFleur smiles proudly, “It’s a boy.”
He asks Horace why he was busy drinking and blowing up trees to see him be born.
Horace shares he was looking for a pair of socks, {Red socks?!} all of his were dirty so he grabbed a pair of Amy’s.  He found Paul’s Ankh in the back of the drawer.
Jim is surprised he got upset over a necklace.   Horace also shares that it’s only been three years since Paul’s gone, “Is that really long enough to get over someone?”
It is LaFleur’s turn to share. He had a thing for a girl once. Although he had a shot at her, he didn’t take it. While he laid in bed every night, he wondered if that was a mistake, “Wonder if I’d ever stop thinking about her.” Now he can barely remember what she looks like. “And her face...She’s just, gone. And she aint never coming back.”
He feels three years is long enough to get over someone. {Never say never!}

Juliet and James sleep. The phone rings, waking them. {Juliet naked. Sawyer NOT!} James answers the 'bat phone'. {lol!}
He tells the caller “No. Don’t bring em in. Just meet me in the North Valley.”
James hurries to put on his Dharma jumpsuit and glasses.
He tells Juliet Jin called, everything’s okay, but he’s gotta go.

James drives a blue jeep to meet Jin.
Jin pulls up in the blue VW van.
Out steps Hurley and guitar case and Jack.
There is a sense of “happy to see each other”.
James removes his glasses and sees Kate. They make eye contact.

LaFleur is a GREAT episode!!
Let's go back to Mr. John Locke-Jeremy Bentham for a minute.   I’ve mentioned many times the sensation that he, along with the rest of them, are in a state of learning, growing, evolving, maybe to reach enlightenment.   I didn’t take Bentham/Locke’s death literally.    I feel this with a few of our other "Island" residents too.  Maybe it’s more of a spiritual ending and rebirth.   I could be wrong about it.  But again for me, metaphoric hints to things seem to be a major part of the experience.   I also keep the "game" element close, while still wondering about the "merged reality" being a possible way they are experiencing things. There totally seems to be a connection to machines and them being high.

And just for the record I want to state that there are "issues" addressed in the episode with LaFleur that for me really feel like they're pointing to Jack and Christian.

Things to Note…Questions to ask…
* EYES. Glasses.
* 1974-1977
* “When” are Locke and the people on the Hydra Island?
* The people we know who’ve done bad things end up working Dharma Security.
* Egypt. Greek. Roman.
* Languages. Communication.
* Ankh- Life. Eternal life. Breath of life
* Pregnancy. Birth. Breeding. Create. Death.
* Remember. Forget. Head. Mind.
* Change identities. Integrate. Role changes.
* Disappear.  Appear.
* Mad scientist. Plato.
* The "Hostiles" broke the truce? Richard’s people have guns and walkies.
* Amy doesn't wear a Dharma jumpsuit, ever.
* Horace doesn’t drink, but is drunk.
* Horace was with Olivia the teacher when Ben was born.  She was Ben’s teacher.  How is she “associated” with Horace?
* Should young Ben be there yet?
* Turn it off.  A machine  that "looks like" (here it's the security fence).  Turn on-turn off.
* Gone-not gone.   Dead-Alive.
* Is "moving on" the same as "passing away?"   Or just removed from the playing field? Or just moving forward?
* The 70’s had some friggin ugly décor!
* Why didn’t Juliet or any of the other Lostie’s choose to leave on the sub? Ever.
* The head case, uh, I mean Dan- Emotional, like he was when we first met him.
* “Don’t get involved”  Is also said by Ben when he sent Goodwin and Ethan to infiltrate the survivors of Oceanic.
* “Who are you people?”...Michael has said this same line.
* Alcohol. Marijuana.  Things that make you high.
* UPSIDE DOWN!
* Here in the 70’s Sawyer wears glasses to see far and read. On the beach in 2004 he needs glasses only to read.   Hmm...the "Island" and healing...vision...eyes...
* The little girl waving to Daniel in 1974 should not be Charlotte.  Ben told us she was born in 1979. So how could this be?   Could Dan’s personal sense of time be skewed due to some sort of altered-mental state he may be in? Come on! He’s a friggin head case!
* Who is James... Really?

Vocabulary and Research...

* A Creole language, or simply a Creole, is a stable language that originates seemingly as a native pidgin. The term Creole comes from French Creole, from Spanish criollo, and from Portuguese crioulo, stemming from the verb criar ('to breed') from the Portuguese, or creare from Latin ('to produce, create'). The term was coined in the 16th century during the great expansion in European maritime power and trade and the establishment of European colonies in the Americas, Africa, and along the coast of South and Southeast Asia up to the Philippines, Indonesia, China, India, and in Oceania.
* Candida is a genus of yeasts.
* Tony Orlando and Dawn released the song Candida in 1970. Here's some lyrics.
The stars won't come out, If they know that you're about.Cause they couldn't match the glow of your eyes
And, oh, who am I? Just an ordinary guy, Trying hard to win me first prize
Oh my Candida, We could make it together,
The further from here girl the better
Where the air is fresh and clean
Oh my Candida, Just take my hand and I'll lead ya
I promise that life will be sweeter
'Cause it said so in my dreams.

* Altered States of Consciousness is sometimes characterized by a different estimation of time. Some psychoactive substances – such as entheogens – may also dramatically alter a person's temporal judgment. When viewed under the influence of such substances as LSD, psychedelic mushrooms and peyote, a clock may appear to be a strange reference point and a useless tool for measuring the passage of events, as it does not correlate with the user's experience. At higher doses, time may appear to slow down, stop, speed up, go backwards and even seem out of sequence. As the boundaries for experiencing time are removed, so is its relevance. Many users claim this unbounded timelessness feels like a glimpse into spiritual infinity. To imagine that one exists somewhere "outside" of time is one of the hallmark experiences of a psychedelic voyage. Marijuana, a milder psychedelic, may also distort the perception of time to a lesser degree.

The practice of meditation, central to all Buddhist traditions, takes as its goal the reflection of the mind back upon itself, thus altering the subjective experience of time; the so called, 'entering the now'.

* Clouding of consciousness is a global impairment in higher central nervous functioning. All aspects of cognitive functioning are affected. On mental status examination it is manifest by disorientation in time, place and person, memory difficulties caused by failure to register and recall, aphasia, dysphasia and agnosia.  Impaired perception functioning leads to illusions and hallucinations often in the visual sensory modality. This then causes agitation and distress and secondary delusions.

* Perception of time. Even in the presence of timepieces, different individuals may judge an identical length of time to be passing at different rate.

* Ego death is an experience that reveals the illusory aspect of the ego, sometimes undergone by Psychonauts, Mysticism, Shamans, Monks, Psychologists, and others interested in exploring the depths of the mind. The practice of ego death as a deliberately sought “mystical experience“ in some ways overlaps, but is nevertheless distinct from, traditional teachings concerning enlightenment/Nirvana (In Buddhism) or “Mosksha” (in Hinduism), which might perhaps be better understood as transcendence of the notion that one even has any actual, non-illusory “ego“ with which to experience "death" in the first place.
It should also be noted, within the context of this system, that ego death is not actual death itself, but rather a temporary state of mind, which can be stabilized and revertedThis can be done either by thought-source control for any who have achieved the state, as well as by de-intoxication for those who have reached the state using psychedelics.

The LaFleur episode seems to have hinted in a clearer way how "time" could be an "emotional issue" not a "time travel" issue, per say.   It is true; emotions play a part in "time" for everyone.  Believe me I have not counted out the possibility of adult Ben knowing everything about the crash and people of Oceanic, because of a "possible" “time travel” thingy going on.   If he was a kid when LaFleur and Juliet were there in the 70’s that would mean he would know Sawyer, Kate, Jack, Locke and everyone else in 2004.  But he would know James as LaFleur, not Ford or Sawyer. Hmmmm.
But if we’re seeing more about them running through "mind" exercises/journey, a game, then they all just may be nothing more than case studies.  Or who knows, maybe they even paid for this experience.
Why, oh why do I still feel we’re seeing issues regarding perception and altered states of consciousness. Again, I’m not trying to convince you that “all” of what we see is “Not Real”, but too many times I feel as if things are not real and are happening while in an altered state of consciousness.  We still see evidence of things possibly happening while they are in a sleep state.    We also see hints to hypnosis, brain washing, coercive persuasion, illusions, hallucinations, lucid dreams, drugs, sleep deprivation, mediation, and all the other Mind Fucks we see.  But it does all serve a purpose...so that there is learning and an awakening.

At this point all I can suggest is to go get yourself a wind up clock, listen to it tick.
Close your eyes and relax. Take a deep breath, and exhale slowly.
Concentrate on your breathing. Feel yourself breathe. With each breath you become more relaxed.
Imagine a brilliant bright light above you. Focus in on this light as it flows through your body. Allow yourself to relax and drift off you fall deeper and deeper into a more relaxed state of mind.
As I count back from 10 to 1 you will feel calm and at peace.
10 9 8 7 6... You will enter a safe place where nothing can hurt you... 5 4 3 2... If at any time you need to come back, all you have to do is open your eyes. 1.

Now, sleep, dream, recall a memory or imagine a new future with the new you.  Your mind can take you to some amazing places.
Oh, one more thought before I leave you…
Let's see…Christian speaks on Jacobs behalf…Sawyer speaks on Horace’s behalf…Horace builds the cabin for himself and the Mrs.…Hmmmmm.

Love to all who are “LOST”™

Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right! The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either! You all know I hate spoilers! And I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode; we all know what they are. Understood? Let the fun begin! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance.

  1. Your hint with support of our friend Anil is hinting to Hawaii too: The Hawaiian word, aloha, literally means to give and share the sacred breath of life.
    Lost has a lot of different spiritual teachings of ancients times, literally transferred into pictures and stories.
    Perhaps my annotations are a good addition to your detailed elucidation:
