PILOT part 2

Let's talk about LOST!     Pilot. Part 2

Jack, Charlie and Kate walk through the jungle from their monster eats the pilot trek. Charlie keeps asking Jack if he’s getting anything on the transceiver; Jack's not getting anything. Charlie reminds him that before the pilot was ripped from the cockpit he did say that no one will find them unless they get that transceiver working.
Still nothing.
Kate wonders Charlie what he was doing in the bathroom. Charlie informs her he was getting sick “My one tangible contribution to the trek.”
Kate is happy that Charlie came.
Charlie- “Every trek needs a coward.”
Kate- “You’re not a coward.”
Charlie stops; you can see his mind start to “think”.

{Flash}
Charlie is in the plane. He sits nervously in his seat tapping his DS ring on the arm of his aisle {isle} seat. He has headphones around his neck. Stewardess Cindy asks him if he’s alright. Charlie says he’s good. She offers him water but he declines the offer. Cindy, noticing his behavior, seems troubled by it so she tells the other stewardess. Charlie gets out of his seat and rushes to the bathroom in the front of the plane. He passes by Jack, Rose and Locke. He tries the doors to two lavatories but they are locked. Then literally walks right through Boone and Shannon’s row moving on ahead to first class. Cindy tries to get Charlie to get back to his seat. The plane takes a bit of a dive; the fasten seatbelt signs light up. Cindy, wanting Charlie back in his seat, announces this order from the Captain. Charlie goes into the lav and locks himself in. He removes his right size 8 black and white vans sneaker and takes out stashed heroin.

A male stewardess bangs on the door asking if he’s alright; they want him to open the door. Charlie uses a bit of the drug. Charlie touches and looks deep into the mirror. He’s high. He purposefully drops the rest of the heroin in the toilet. The stewardesses are still banging on the door for him. As Charlie’s about to flush away the drugs…turbulence! Charlie flies upward! He gets out of the bathroom and avoids getting hit with a rolling beverage cart and makes it to an empty window seat. He belts himself in and puts on mask.

Shannon sunbathes in an orange bikini among the wreckage. {As if nothing is wrong.} Boone tells her they are going through bags sorting clothes. He sees that Shannon found her bag. Shannon doesn’t want to give them a hand, “You’re wasting your time. They’re coming.”
Claire, with a cut on her chin asks Shannon if that’s her boyfriend. Shannon reveals it’s her brother Boone “Gods friggin gift to humanity.”
Pregnant Claire shares, “I used to have a stomach.”
Shannon looks at her and asks, “Do you know what it is?”
Claire-“Not yet.” She hasn’t felt the baby move since yesterday. Shannon doesn’t acknowledge her concern.

Sun watches Jin collect food from the water. Michael comes from behind “Aaaa. Excused me…Uh, Hey…Have you seen my boy?”
Sun replies in Korean. Jin watches Michael with Sun and he demands she button up the top of her sweater. Michael realizes Jin is controlling says he’s sorry and walks away calling out for “Walt.”

Walt holding a red leash is in the jungle calling out for Vincent; only he’s not yelling the name, he’s loudly whispering it, “Come here boy.”
No Vincent.
Walt finds a pair of handcuffs on the ground. Michael finds Walt and is upset, “What did I tell you after everything that’s happened?”   Walt explains he thought that maybe Vincent would be around. But Michael told Walt to stay on the beach. Michael insists Walt listen to him, “I mean what I say.”
Michael takes the newly discovered handcuffs from Walt; his eyes search for something in the jungle. They walk off.

Sayid and Sawyer are in a fist fight on the beach. Jack breaks it up; Michael helps separate them. Apparently Sawyer accuses Sayid of crashing the plane, “If the shoe fits, Buddy!”

Michael presents the cuffs that his kid found in the jungle to Jack. Sawyer tells us that “This guy was sitting in the back row of business class the whole flight, never got up. Hands folded underneath the blanket.”
Sayid thanks him for observing his behavior. Sawyer also mentions that he saw them pull him out of line before they boarded.
Kate yells for them to stop, “We found the transceiver but it’s not working. Can anybody help?” { and just like that the fight is over.}
Sayid may be able to help. Sawyer makes a big deal about trusting this guy. Hurley suggests they treat each other with a little respect.
Sawyer tells “Lardo” to shut up. Jack tells Sawyer to give it a break.
Sawyer-‘Whatever you say Doc. You’re the hero.”
Boone asks Jack if there were any survivors at the cockpit.

Sayid announces the transceiver is duel band military spec; chances are the battery is good but the radio is dead.
Kate asks “Can you fix it?”
Sayid-“I need some time.”
Rose tells Jack he should take a look at the man with the shrapnel.

Sayid opens up the transceiver. Hurley sits next to him and complains about the chain smoking redneck. Sayid comments some people have problems, referring to the redneck.
Hurley-“Some people have problems. Us...Him.”
Hurley thinks Sayid’s OK, “I like you.”
They shake hands and introduce themselves. Sayid admits to Hurley he knows how do to all the radio stuff, because he was a military communications officer.
Hurley-“You ever see battle?”
Sayid fought in the gulf war. Hurley’s got a buddy who fought over there; he was in the 104th Airborne.
Hurley-“ What were you? Air Force? Army?”
Sayid shares that he served in the Republican Guard.
Kate stands alone in the water washing herself. Sun gets her attention; she is trying to tell her something but only communicates in Korean. Sun points in a direction. Kate nods her head yes/Okay, as to tell her she understands.

Kate meets up with Sayid on the beach. The transceiver seems to be working except they’re not picking up a signal. Kate wonders why he wants to receive a signal when they need to send a signal.
Sayid explains “What you want to see here is little bars. The bars would show the radio’s getting reception.”
They need the bars.
Sayid-“We could broadcast blind. Hope that someone, maybe a ship somewhere picks up our distress call. But that would be a waste of the battery.” Which may not last too long. Sayid suggests they try getting a signal from higher ground.

Jack tends to the shrapnel guy (the marshal); he’s bleeding very badly. Kate {No scratches on face} watches and then asks how the guys doing. Jack was hoping he’d be at a hospital by now so he needs to think about removing the shrapnel; he needs to find antibiotics. Kate informs him she’s going on a hike as they need to get the fixed transceiver to send a signal.
Jack is upset, “Kate, you saw what that thing did to the pilot.”
She did.
Kate-“What makes you think we’re any safer here than we are in the jungle?”  Jack wants her to wait for him, but of course they can’t because Sayid said the battery won’t last. Jack concedes and tells Kate of she sees or hears anything “Run

Jin cuts up sea food and Sun helps. Jin is very particular on what he allows Sun to do; he actually slaps her hand as if she’s a child that’s done wrong. Without saying a word he takes the seafood tray from Sun and walks away. Sun rebelliously opens the top button on her sweater. Jin, speaking Korean, offers food to Hurley who is washing his plaid shirt in the water. Even though Hurley admits to starving, he refuses the food.

Walt is reading a comic book written in Spanish. The Flash and the Green Lantern- Faster Friends. Michael asks him if he reads Spanish. Walt says no; he found it. Michael offers Walt that when they get home he’ll get him another dog. Without saying a word Walt takes Vincent’s red leash, the comic book and storms away from Michael.

Charlie kneels down by a tree and pours out some of the heroin in his hand.

On the beach Jack asks Hurley for help; he needs him to look through the luggage for any kind of prescription medication especially drugs that end in “myocin” and “cillin“. {Those are antibiotics to you and me!}
Hurley {Wearing plaid shirt} asks “What’s this for?”

Charlie, who is wobbly, relaxes on the ground...high.

Shannon {Wearing yellow laced sneakers} is sitting and crying. She is looking at a man's dead body and tells Boone, “I think I was mean to him….He’s that guy from the gate. He wouldn’t let us have our seats in first class. He saved our lives.”
Boone tries to get her to come help clear some of the wreckage. He feels she’s being “worthless” just being over here sitting on her ass staring at bodies. She argues she’s just been through a trauma. Boone remarks they’ve all be through a trauma, but since the crash she’s been able to give herself a pedicure. They argue about him making fun of her.
Shannon-“Screw You! You do not have the slightest idea what I am thinking.”
He thinks he has a much better idea than she thinks he does.
Boone-“OK Shannon, then what are you thinking?"
Shannon catches a glimpse of Kate and Sayid getting their back packs. Shannon impulsively decides she’s going with them on the hike.
Boone- “No you’re not.”
Oh, yes she is!
Shannon approaches Kate and Sayid and tells them she wants to go. Boone interjects mentioning that this is what she does, her way of making really bad decisions that upset her family, “Which at the moment is me.”
Kate doesn’t think her going is such a good idea.
Shannon-“What, are you two years older than me? Please.”
Charlie puts himself right in the middle of the group; he’s going if she’s going. Kate says everyone can go but they’re leaving now.
Charlie, referring to Kate -“You couldn’t really tell from that, but she’s actually really nice.” {How does he know how nice she is?}

Sawyer literally sits in the middle of wreckage. {It looks almost cradle-like.} He’s smoking and reading a letter that appears to be torn out of a spiral notebook. {Watch him when he reads it.}

The transceiver group heads off through the jungle. Something has motivated Sawyer the complex guy, to join the group. This bunch literally climbs up steep mountains to reach higher ground.

Jack’s looking through suitcases for some sort of blade. He asks Michael how his son is.
Michael- “Walt? Yeah, I think he’ll be alright.”
Jack-“How old is he?”
Michael-“9. 10. 10. Walt’s more worried about his dog than anything. The dog was on the plane, so…Kids, you know.”
Jack- “Is it a lab?”  {It is a lab}
Jack saw him yesterday in the jungle. What? Where? Over there. {A friggin rhyme!} a couple of hundred yards in or so; he looked good. Jack finds a blade.

Walt with the dogs red leash, comes upon Locke who is setting up the backgammon game. {Was he waiting for Walt? In the middle of a game? What?}
Walt, asks from behind Locke if it’s like checkers. Locke tells him it’s a better game than checkers. He asks Walt if he plays checkers with his Pop.
Walt, still behind Locke answers,“ No. I live in Australia with my mom.”
Locke comments the boy has no accent. Walt shares they move a lot. He continues, “She got sick. She died a couple of weeks ago.
Locke-“You’re having a bad month.”
Walt-“I guess.” {As if it’s no big deal.} Walt comes around to sit opposite Locke.
Locke explains backgammon’s the oldest game in the world. Archeologist's found sets when they excavated the ruins of ancient Mesopotamia. 5,000 years old. That’s older than Jesus Christ. Walt inquires if they had dice and stuff. Indeed they did, although they were made from bones. Walt thinks that’s “Cool.”
Locke explains, “Two players. Two sides. One is light. One is dark. Walt. Do you wanna know a secret?” {Left hand holds light, right hand holds the dark and his red scar in the middle.}

Claire writes in her diary. {One earring, left ear.} Jin offers her food after all she needs to eat. She initially declines then takes a piece. She feels the baby move. She's very excited and wants Jin to feel it too. She forces him to touch her belly. Claire is happy “He’s” moving around. She thinks it’s a “he”.

Walking in single file in the jungle, Sawyer suggests they check the radio. Sayid doesn’t want to waste the batteries; he believes they wouldn’t get any reception. They argue. Sayid feels if he checks they may not have any juice left when we get to… All of a sudden there is LOUD NOISE and rustling in the tall grass. Something is coming toward them. Kate tells them to move. Shannon panics and says “I shouldn’t have come on this.” She screams, they run, all except Sawyer. He stands firm and fires 10 shots at a charging polar bear. They all gather around the big bear. Boone asks if that’s what killed the pilot. {He knows the monster killed the pilot???}
Charlie-“ No. No. That’s a tiny teeny version compared to that.” {So, what did Charlie see?} This polar bear is still breathing.

Hurley is helping Jack with the shrapnel guy. Jack will remove the metal from his chest but Jack has put the guy out.
Hurley- “How do you know he won’t wake up when you yank that thing out?”
Jack sterilizes the blade with a lighter.
Hurley talks to the guys “Hey guy, are you awake?”
Nothing.
Jack chuckles as Hurley mocks to try to wake the guy, “There’s a rescue plane, we’re saved, Yeah!!” {I love how the marshal’s legs are crossed! And there’s more unbroken little bottle of liquor. Lol!} They both confirm "he’s out" and unlikely that he’ll regain consciousness; but the pain might bring him around. Hurley needs to hold him down. Hurley lets Jack know he not so good around blood and he may faint. Jack tells him not to look. And indeed Hurley faints.

In the jungle, the group agrees it’s a polar bear. Polar bears don’t live this far south, but this one does. Kate asks Sawyer where did that come from.
Sawyer- “Probably bear village.”
She was talking about the gun not the bear. {She doesn't wonder where the bear came from?}
Sawyer tells them he got it off one of the bodies; a U.S. Marshal.
Kate asks how he knows that. {WOW! She asked Jack, how he “knew all that” too.} He took the gun, thought it may come in handy; he was right. The marshal had a clip on badge so he took that too.
Sayid states, “I know who you are. You’re the prisoner.”
He goes on assuming the cuffs were on Sawyer.
Sawyer- “Fine. I’m the criminal. You’re the terrorist. We can all play a part. Who do you wanna be?”
Kate snags the gun from Sawyers back waistband and asks if anybody knows how to use a gun.
Charlie- “I think you just pull the trigger.”
Kate wants to take it apart.Sayid gives her the instructions. Once apart she gives the bullets to Sayid and the empty gun to Sawyer.
Sawyer grabs her close “I know your type.”
He remembers girls like her but apparently not exactly like Kate. She walks away obviously troubled about something.

{Flash}
A stewardess asks Kate if she wants a refill. Kate is fine with what she has. Kate is sitting next to the marshal. The stewardess asks the marshal if he’d like a cocktail or soda. He wants black coffee.
The marshal chats, says Kate looks worried, “You gotta stay positive Kiddo. You know there’s always that off chance they’ll believe your story. I know I sure did.”
Cuffed Kate doesn’t care what he believes. He asks if she’s sure she doesn’t want anymore juice. They hit turbulence. The marshal smiles when the turbulence hits. Kate has one favor to ask the marshal. Instantly, a guy flies up, stuff starts falling, a case hits the marshal on the head. Kate can’t reach the mask! Kate takes his keys, un-cuffs herself then puts a mask on him and then herself. The tail section rips off from the mid section.

Sayid tells Kate “We should keep moving.”

As Jack works on the marshal he wakes up. Passed out Hurley lays on the ground. The marshal very strongly grabs Jack's shirt and whispers, "Where is she?" {Hmmm...Who?}

Sayid determines a good spot to try the radio. They’re up higher. He picks up a signal and is excited, “Bar. Hey! WE’VE GOT A BAR!”
He calls “Mayday” into the radio but gets feedback. He determines something else is already being transmitted but from where? He feels it's somewhere close, the signal is strong.
Charlie-“You mean on the island. That’s great!”
Boone- “Maybe its other survivors.”
Shannon- “From our plane? How would they even…
Sayid-“It could be a SAT phone, maybe a radio….”
He adjusts the frequency.
Sawyer-“There’s no transmission.”
Then all of a sudden they hear a transmission in French. Charlie’s excited to hear from the French! You can also hear a man’s voice repeating numbers-iterations (a counter) with it. The batteries are dying. They listen to the weird voice.
Shannon, who spent a year in Paris drinking not studying, barely speaks French translates....."It’s repeating…..She’s saying please. Please help me. Please come get me…..I’m alone now… Please someone come… The others, they’re dead…It killed them, It killed them all."
Boone {Stunned/stares} says to Shannon “That was good.”

Sayid says that French distress call/mayday, the loop has been running for 16 years and 5 months.
Sayid- “It’s been playing over and over for 16 years.”
Boone-“Someone else was stranded here?”
Charlie asks, “Guys...Where are we?”

Things to note…Questions to ask…
* It must have been pretty important for Charlie to stay in his seat. Cindy and two other stewardesses were pursuing Charlie as soon as he left his seat, all before the turbulence and the Pilot turning on the seatbelt sign and the plane going down. If Charlie was in the front of the plane near the cockpit, even when he gets to a seat, he still should be near the front. How far could he have crawled in those few moments? He still should be near the front section of the plane when it crashes. But Charlie ends up with the middle section survivors on the beach. To explore all options, did Charlie crawl all the way back to his seat (His original seat was an aisle seat) while the plane was going down or at least out of the very front of the plane? HA!
* Did the gate guy who wouldn’t give Shannon and Boone their seats in first class really save their lives, or was it part of the plan?
* Claire wears a black cord necklace with a symbol on it.
* Boone wears a black cord necklace with a symbol on it.
* Kate single handedly and instantly got the Sayid/Sawyer fight to stop just by the mention of the transceiver.
* Jumping ahead- The comic book belongs to Hurley, not Walt.
* Jumping ahead- Vincent the dog belongs to Brian, not Walt.
* Shoes. Pedicure. I.E. Foot/Feet.
* I sometimes feel like they are animals that were removed from the jungle/wild and placed in cages so they can be domesticated.
* I faint at the sight of blood in real life, yet I love horror movie. Go figure.
* Roles. Play a part.
* Sleep. Knocked Out. Unconscious….Awake.
* Does Kate know where they are? I’m just asking!

DISCLAIMER...I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right! Things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either. I hate spoilers! I stand clear of reading certain sites, as to not take me off my own research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Good! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues in bold.

PILOT. part 1

PILOT. Part 1

Eye... {PAY attention to eye colors} Jack lays on his back in the middle of the bamboo jungle. He wakes up. The view is of Jack's perspective looking up toward the unbroken bamboo trees above him. Two scratches on right cheek bone, two on left cheek. He looks to his left and sees a dog; Vincent, collar on, all happy as can be. Vincent runs off. We don't really hear any background noises. Jack stands up and realizes he's bleeding. He checks his right jacket pocket and pulls out an unbroken travel size bottle of liquor. Jack takes off running through the jungle. {OK, I'm gonna wake up in the middle of the jungle after falling from the sky, and I'm going to know which direction to run in to get to the 'beach', yet Jack heads right for the beach! Damn he's good.} On his way, Jack passes a white right tennis shoe in the tree. Little by little we hear the screams and yells of the survivors of the crash. {Could it be that they all were starting to 'wake up' at the same time?}
Jin yells for Sun. Michael yells out for Walt.
Jack kicks into rescue everyone mode. He saves Rose and a nearly eight months pregnant Claire and then Hurley. Locke and Jack remove a plane part off a guy trapped under it. Let's remember when Jack's saving Rose, Boone tells him he's a licensed Life Guard. Boone runs around frantically asking people if they have a pen (So that a hole can be made in Rose's throat.) Boone does retrieve a handful of pens for Jack.
Jack searches for sewing kit in suitcases and finds one.

Jack leaves the crash site to stitch up his wounds.
Kate, alone rubbing her wrists comes upon Jack. She's wearing a white shirt. Kate helps Jack sew up his cut; after all she sewed a pair of drapes once. Jack tells Kate the story of his first solo procedure while in residency as a spinal surgeon. How he counted to 5 to deal with the fear, "How the terror was just so crazy, so real.... {As opposed to not real?} ... And I knew I had to deal with it." So he made a choice to let the fear in and take over, but only for 5 seconds. {Jack seems to tell this story almost trance-like and very emotional.} Kate says she would have run for the door. Jack notes she's not running now.

Sawyer is hanging out smoking...no real emotion, just kind of looks like, 'well island, here I am.' But note he lights a cigarette where there is fire, gas and fumes!
Hurley's in charge of the food.
Locke just sits looking out over the water.
Boone is trying to get a signal on his cell phone; it only beeps.

Sayid builds a fire and recruits Charlie to help make it a big fire.
Revived Rose kisses her wedding ring on a chain.

It's Night on the beach. Sayid wonders why "they" haven't come by now. Hooded Charlie asks "Who?"
Sayid- "Anyone."
{Why would Charlie ask who? Is he NOT expecting people to come?} {DS ring.} Charlie is writing the letters of the word FATE on four of his white taped left handed fingers.
Shannon paints her toes by firelight. Boone offers her a chocolate bar, after all they may be there for a while. Shannon reminds him the plane had a black box so they know exactly where they are and they're coming. She'll eat on the rescue boat.
Hurley delivers food to Claire; he gives her two trays of food.

Michael watches over Waaaaaalt.
Jin tells Sun in Korean she must not leave his sight, "You must follow me wherever I go." He tells her not to worry about the others,"We need to stay together."

Jack tends to a severely injured man who Kate was sitting next to on the plane. She asks if he's gonna live.
Jack uses a palm leaf as a visual aid to describe the plane at 40,000 feet, then hits an air pocket; he blacked out, etc..
Kate saw the whole thing. Jack says they need to figure out which way they came in, head to the cockpit and find a transceiver to send out a signal, "Help the rescue party find us."
Kate wonders, "How do you know all that? {Does he remember something?}
Jack admits he took a few flying lessons, "wasn't for me." {He's more the doctor role, than the pilot role anyway. But he technically piloted a plane!}
Kate mentions she saw smoke through the valley and if Jack's thinking of going there then she's going with him.
Jack-"I don't know your name."
She introduces herself, "I'm Kate."
MONSTER sounds! The trees move as if being knocked down, sounds of metal, gurgling, clicking, and an almost siren sound.
It's cute how when Walt hears the monster he turns to Michael and asks "Is that Vincent?" {Vincent? WTF?!}
You can see Rose calmly standing, looking in the direction of the sound.
No one freaks out; they listen but they aren't frightened enough to run and hide.
Charlie- "Terrific."

{Flash}
Jack is on the plane looking out the window that's on his left; he's having a drink. Cindy the stewardess comes over to him, "Shhh" sneaks him two bottles of vodka for his not so strong drink. Jack jokes about it breaking some critical FAA regulations. He downs his drink.
Charlie runs toward the 'front' of the plane to the bathroom.
Jack and Rose have conversation, about the turbulence; he tells her it's normal.
Locke sits behind Rose.
Rose mentions to Jack she has never been a very good flyer. Rose's very smart husband is bathroom. Jack tells her not to worry and that he'll keep her company until her husband returns, "It's gonna be over…"
The plane shakes badly, the masks come down, people are tossed around.

On the beach Jack stares at the water. The survivors talk about the sounds they heard.
Michael- "It didn't sound like an animal. Not exactly, I mean..."
Rose- "That sound that it made, I keep thinking that there was something really familiar about it."
Shannon- "Really? Where are you from?"
Rose-"The Bronx."
Charlie-"Might be monkeys. It's monkeys, right?"
Sawyer-"Sure it's monkeys. It's Monkey Island."
Hurley-"Technically, you know, we don't even know if we're on an island."
Sayid-"We're on an island."

Kate asks Jack if he's ready but Jack feels he can find it himself. She insists she'll go retrieve the transceiver from the cockpit with him but she's gonna need better shoes. Kate gets a pair off a dead body. Locke, who has a vertical cut above and below his right eye, smiles at her with an orange slice in his smile.

Michael tells a few of them that whatever they heard wasn't natural.
Charlie asks for sun block; Shannon has some.
Hurley says they should do something about the bodies; a word that Hurley miss-spells and Walt corrects.
Jack entrusts Boone to keep an eye on the wounded. They talk about the marshal and the other guy with the leg. Charlie will go on the trek too because he doesn't feel like standing still.

As Jack, Kate and Charlie leave for the cockpit we see Vincent just sitting there checking, watching them. Kate asks Charlie if they ever met anywhere before. Charlie reveals he's in the rock band Drive Shaft; he shows her the DS ring, 2nd tour of Finland.
Jack says they have to keep moving.
Locke sits on the beach looking out toward the open water. The skies look gloomy.

It's raining in the valley. Charlie asks if it's normal "the kind of day turning into night, you know, end of the world type weather?"

At the beach the survivors are seeking cover due to a big rain storm, all except Locke who sits there welcoming the rain. He's not running from anything, he's welcoming everything!

There are monster sounds and movement in the trees again.
Jack breaks open the cockpit door and they find the Pilot. Jack tells Kate a transceiver looks like a complicated walki talki.
The pilot wakes up; his right eye is swollen and his head is dizzy. It's probably a concussion.
Jack informs the pilot at least 48 of them survived. It's been 16 hours. The Pilot explains what happened before they crashed, that rescue wouldn't know where to look for them because six hours in the radio went out, "No one could see us." They turned back to land in Fiji. By the time they hit turbulence they were 1,000 miles off course, "They're looking for us in the wrong place."
The pilot reaches for the transceiver.
Jack realizing Charlie's not in sight asks where Charlie is.
The transceiver isn't working.
Kate looks for Charlie.
Charlie is in the bathroom.
Monster sounds! It's right outside the window! Kate seeks protection in Jack's arms. They see dark shadow outside the fogged up window. Jack tries to wipe the fog off the windshield to "see" the monster. Brave Kate also tries for a closer look. The pilot is not scared, he gets up to take a peek too. He puts the transceiver on the seat and pokes his head out of the window. BAM, he's pulled out the window; blood everywhere.
The plane falls. {Do you hear whispers?}
They run through the jungle! Charlie falls, almost too close to the monster and Jack goes back to get Charlie.
Kate hides in a Banyan tree, {Looks like a cage/ jail cell} looks up and uses the count to 5 method we just heard Jack share. She screams for Jack. {Only for Jack and not for Charlie.}

Hooded Charlie scares Kate; no Jack. {Where the hell is Jack?}
Charlie saw Jack; he pulled him up but they got separated. Charlie also starts to describe "…That Thing…" as he claws his hand… Kate asks him "Did you see it?"
Charlie says "No. It was right there. We were dead…. I was…and then Jack came back and he pulled me up. I don't know where he is." The rain stops.
Kate says they have to go back for him. Charlie's concerned as there is a "certain gargantuan quality about this thing."
Kate tells him, "Then don't come."

Charlie goes after her. Kate finds the pilots "wings" in a muddy puddle; the reflection in the watery mud shows his body is up in the tree. Jack steps out of the trees not surprised to see the pilot in the tree. Kate asks him if he saw it.
Jack says "No. It was right behind when I dove into the bushes."
Charlie asks how something like that happens.
We see the pilot's bloody body in the tree.

Things to Note...Questions To Ask…
A pretty basic review; so what do we have? Jack placed inland waking up, bottles in pocket not broken, etc.. Vincent. They DO NOT look like people that just fell from the sky! They look like they were placed there.
* Monster.
* Numbers to note- 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 16, 23
* Additional clue words: Pilot, Pen, Time, Watch, Guard, Needle, Alcohol, Patch, Black, Spine, Spinal fluid, Nerves, Sac, Membranes, Tissue.
* Charlie and Rose's husband were in the bathroom on the plane.
* Jack sits in row 23.
* New York.
* Pen
* Jack is NOT afraid of the monster, neither is the pilot. Did Jack see the monster? Where was Jack "hiding"?
* The flash shows us Charlie running to the bathroom toward the front of the plane. While he's in there the turbulence starts. Let's keep that in mind for part 2.

* Transceiver: a device that has both a transmitter and a receiver which are combined and share common circuitry or a single housing. If no circuitry is common between transmit and receive functions, the device is a transmitter-receiver. The term originated in the early 1920s. Technically, transceivers must combine a significant amount of the transmitter and receiver handling circuitry.

A great beginning to a wonderful story! Could there be a pilot responsible for delivering these people to this "Island" Or are they in the middle of an experiment?

Love to all who are "LOST"™

I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right!

Objects in Mirror Are Closer Than They Appear.

Let's talk about LOST!  Objects in Mirror Are Closer Than They Appear.

You've been clamoring for more LOST discussion. So here we go...

PERCEPTION: What do you see?   Do you see what I see?  Do I see what you see?  Is what you are perceiving really what is being presented? Is it the truth or all part of a wonderful magic trick, where slide of hand and hypnotic convincing words are conning you into believing what you are seeing?

Since the show began we have been led to believe that these people are survivors of a plane crash. Random coincidence brought these people together.  Bizarre extremes in their lives are revisited on the island.  Redemption seemed to be the name of the game.  We then live the trials and tribulations of these survivors trying to "survive" the island and the Others who already live there. We learned a privately funded organization used the island and its special properties to study people and their environment; a laboratory. The goal was to make people and the world better. Social behavior, education, religion and politics are part of the plan. Let's not forget the medical and psychological aspects this organization wanted to study and perfect. While on the island it became apparent to these people there is an issue with pregnant woman and fertility clashing with this "Island." We met a handsome man who seems to never get any older, although it appears he has lived a very long time. We question how people travel to and from that "Island." And then there's the implication of time travel. All of that in short seems to be the story as we are shown it. Do you agree?

When time is taken to dissect the show we find things are not what they seem. We began to see that many of the people who are on the "island" do indeed share common interests and mutual friends. Their paths have crossed before. And all roads seem to have led them all together, here, to this "Island."

If you are a regular reader of my episode clues notes, you've seen how the subliminal clues come into play. When we dig deeper into a clue we find that what we thought on the surface was the truth, could be something very different under the smoke screen.  This particular blog post is here to explore additional information and reminders of events of episodes past. After four seasons, and the seemingly endless notes I've posted here, what if there's still too much assuming going on? What if the viewer is getting just enough surface information to base assumptions on? Has that been enough to let you see the truth? This is why I am always compelled to dig deeper. That's why each of my episode clues notes is written as they are. With all that digging I think I've been able to show and hint to other possibilities and ways to look at some things.

I'd like to use the long hiatus to really get into some of the clue words, connections to people, places, things, and other revelations, to see if they are fitting into the puzzle or are they clues I can file away. Of course, due to the many layers of the story, we can only tackle a few things at a time. Let's tackle just a few of them today.

Important layers and clue words I hope to address before season 5 returns are all that show up in my notes. Including, but not limited to: Plate tectonics, North, Cold, Ice, Freeze, Below, Under, Underwater, Sub, Underground, Hidden, Klick, Egg, Flash, Fly, Change, Chess, Tracking, Monitor, Looping, Australia, New York, Germany, Norway, England, Los Angeles, Tustin, Religions, Literature, Philosophy, Quarantine, Bug, Morph, Transform, Natives, Hostiles, Ancient culture, Comic books, Communication, Journey, Home and Vincent.

I've been saying to you for the longest time that things and people are not what they seem. Illusion, tricks and cons are hiding the truth. We've even seen Ben pull a rabbit out of a hat once or twice. So, taking the story as I stated in the first paragraph of this post and using the subliminal clues that are running ramped throughout the story let's refresh our memories on few things to see if things are turning out to be something different than what you originally thought or have been led to believe.

Now, that's not to say there aren't some terrific "out of this world" things going on with this "island", I'm sure there are.. But what I am saying is there could be examples of some things having a much simpler explanation.
I am not here to replay the same ol' things, but some things are necessary to show how things tie together.
It's important to remember episode titles, clues, words and phrases seem to always have at least two meaning.

Let's start with a few of my mainstay thoughts. Yep, l still feel the "Flashes" are out of order or at least don't follow in a constant time line. This could include the segments of events we see on the "island." I can only imagine what the picture is going to reveal when the puzzle pieces are placed in order. How is the picture going to differ from where we started? I also feel they are never out of the confines of the "Island" or its surrounding areas; a bloody snow globe, going from one island to another island. Would that mean the "Island" isn't really an "Island"? I've touched on that in past notes too.

Casket/coffin: In the S4 finale, we see Jack will need to transport a casket back to the "Island." This casket would contain the remains of Jeremy Bentham/John. Will this casket turn up empty upon arrival there, just as the casket in S1 was empty? Don't you find that curious; coincidence or replay?   In S1 the casket was to contain Jack's father. Let's not forget that the empty casket Jack finds in the cave was already inside the cave. How could the casket, those plane parts, suitcases, dolls, etc., already be inside the cave when this crash was supposed to have just happened? I imagine the simple answer would be the "crash" didn't just happen. Many think those items could be already inside because of the popular "time loop theory." It very well could be. But, what if the items inside the cave are there as props for another run through of tests/exercise/challenges of the game and not by people who were there before them. What if the people who were there before them were "Them"?
Maybe that stuff was left by their "parents".
What if the items are just "triggers"?  Besides, wouldn't Danielle have heard this huge "crash"? This statement being said leads me to reiterate that I still believe that Jack, along with all the survivors was placed in and around the "crash" site. Placed like pieces on a game board, all waking up at the same time.

GAMES- Backgammon and Chess- This story seems to contain a living breathing Chess game, a military game. Many examples of this are all over this story, starting with Chess terms.
Here are some of those terms we've heard or witnessed in some form since the beginning: Active, Adjournment, Adjudication, Algebraic notation, Amateur, Analysis, Arbiter, Attack, B, Battery, Bind, Black, Blunder, Board, Break, Breakthrough, Brilliancy, Bullet chess, Bye, Calculate, Capture, Castling, Casual game, Center, Check, Checkmate, Chessboard, Classical, Closed file, Coffeehouse, Color, Combination, Compensation, Control of the center, Cook, Counterattack, Cover, Cramped, Critical position, Decoy, Defense, Deflect, Develop, Diagonal, Draw, Drawing line, Equalize, Exchange, Family fork, First-move advantage, File, Fish, Flag, Flank, FM, Focal point, Forced move, Fork, Fortress, Friendly game, Grandmaster, Handicap, Hanging, Hanging pawns, Hole, Initiative, Interference, Kick, Line, Loss, Main line, Match, Mate, Material, Move, Odds, Opposition, Pairing, Pawn, Piece, Pin, Plan, Post-mortem, Promotion, Push, Queen, Rank, Resign, Sacrifice, Score, Second, See-saw, Sharp, Simplification, Skewer, Solid, Sound, Space, Squeeze, Sudden death, Swindle, Table base, Tactics, Take back, Tempo, Text move, Threat, Time, Time control, Time delay, Toilet move, Tournament, Trap, Trébuchet, Triangulation, Undermining, Valve, Variant, Variation, White, Win, Wing, X-ray attack.

Let's have some fun!!! Could we assign the people on the island Chess piece counterparts? I wonder if it would work. Hehehe!!!

Kate's real role here is more than what we perceive it to be, I'm sure. Is she on the run from something or to/for something? From the very beginning the Marshal tells Jack not to trust a word Kate says. By the way, Danielle said a similar thing to Sayid about Henry Gale.

Kate said she was awake for the entire event of the plane going down, she befriends Jack and she knows her way around the island. Kate's involved in almost every trek as if she's there to keep her 'eye' on things. She delivers Aaron in the jungle, tells Claire this baby is "All of us/ours." Kate is also responsible for Aaron off the island. Which brings me to this question...(S4 finale) Who does Claire dare Kate not to bring back? We can assume she's speaking about Aaron, but could it mean someone else? Plus I can't ignore the hug between Kate and Penny in the S4 finale. It leads me to think these two possibly know each other. Is Kate a mole, hired hand or babysitter?

"Santa Rosa's" role: Yes it has a role and is serving a purpose here, but how? Research or programming/deprogramming subjects/patients? Is it being used to "teach" subjects into "learning" something? Monitoring case studies, perhaps? I feel "Santa Rosa" is a HUGE part of the story. Could they all be patients at "Santa Rosa"? What if they were? What if they are?! It sure would explain a hell of a lot. Things would actually make sense. While I'm on that, could this be where the whispers come in?

Coffee/Tea, stimulants, drugs, alcohol, Clonazapam (other drugs), injections, implants, visions, hypnosis/triggers, lucid dreaming and states of consciousness:
All of these are forms of being able to manipulate a person's thoughts, perception and memory. We learn in a Missing Pieces episode that Ethan conveniently brings Jack a mega suitcase filled with medicine and drugs, supposedly belonging to the hypochondriac "Sullivan." I fucking call Shenanigans! It seems to me they need to be kept drugged up or in a certain "state."

Pregnancy, fertility, conceiving, parentage, blood disorders, DNA, Gnome, metabolism, blood: Who is really related to whom? Who are biological parents to which offspring? Is there a blending of two halves, creating one?   Is someone trying to create the perfect person or even a perfect solider? Are they breeding a damn Super Hero race complete with ones who can fly?! Maybe their own Justice League while we're at it! Perhaps will we find a bunch of mutant alien bug beings roaming around. Through all this I still wonder why Ben claimed Alex as is daughter. But was she biologically tied to him, or even human? If there is "creating" a hybrid of some sort, to me it doesn't matter how, what matters is, why?
I don't think it is all about a physical transformation; it seems that it also encompasses emotional, mental and even spiritual transformation.
Reminder: We're told pregnant women die on the island. Let's not forget that in "All the best cowboys have daddy issues" a pregnant woman dies on the O.R. table at the hands of Jack and Christian. But this bit of info may come in handy when trying to show examples of them never really leaving the "island"; more on that next time.

Special: Locke, Walt, and Hurley. Who else? What makes them special or different? Let's not forget Shannon was special too.

Tests, Experiments, Exercises and Challenges: Since early on in S1, I have felt they've done all this before, lived on the "Island" running through things. When they first heard the monster sound they were concerned but never freaked out. As a matter of fact, when Walt hears that sound for the first time he asks Michael if that's Vincent. They found their way around the "Island" pretty comfortably. All their needs were always met, food, drink, meds, suntan lotion, pregnancy tests, reading material, etc.. I gave more insight to this back when we saw the episode The Other 48 Days. For me, the answer was right there in the title. There was, (at least) another set of 48 days, confirming they have done all this before. But how many times? 10? In that same episode Sawyer recalls in his haze, leaving Michael behind.
Being there before; returning. Did they ever leave? Since early on in S1 I felt Michael was one who may be remembering his tie to the "Island" and its people. Maybe that's why he was so determined to leave. The rest of them don't remember their tie to the "Island."

Remember this dialogue in the Missing Pieces episode Tropical Depression:
MICHAEL to Arzt- "It's Ok. The raft is finished. We're getting out of here. We're going to bring back help."
ARZT- "You are! I know you are! I know you are! And I am going to be the first one on the beach waving 'hello' when you get there."

TIME: There are inconsistencies with "time" issues. Do you think there's "Time Travel"?  Where is it?! Did Desmond really time travel? I think it's possible he could be having "Flashes" of blended/blurred images of real and manipulated memory in "Flashes".  These could connect to altered states of consciousness. If that is the possibility then Desmond experienced that not only in Flashes before Your Eyes, but also in The Constant.
Again, an altered conscious mind can happen via: Lucid Dreams, False awakening, Dream within a Dream, Flash within a Flash, Déjà vu, Memory and a bit of withdrawal from a hallucinogenic drug, drugs, alcohol, psychedelic drugs, brain washing, machines/computers, hypnosis, and even meditation.

Is Desmond a Pilot or Co Pilot in any of this, anyway?

I know you're going to say..."But Karen, Ben asked/mentions the year to the hotel desk clerk" and it seemed more like he, in his Ben way, cutely confirmed the year, not questioned it. Time Travel or Not to Time Travel, that is the question.

Some questions and things to note:

*Triggers: Would include things like, plane parts, caskets, dolls, the drug plane, Virgin Mary statues, rings, watches, books, (running) water, people, places, words, songs, x-rays, Vincent and a bunch of other fun items.  Hypnotic suggestion seemed to be what was going on in One of Us, when Juliet heads out to the jungle to retrieve the medical kit and Sayid and Sawyer follow her. She speaks to them as if she "telling them" what to think and they appear hypnotized to me.

*Did Claire give Aaron away or did Christian? Claire looked loopy like she did when Ethan took her to the medical station.

* How old are the survivors? I'm sure Richard isn't the only one who hasn't aged. Is he really "native"? Could he be a regular person/scientist benefiting from the properties of the "island" or the studies of life extension by other scientists or something else? Besides, he better share some of whatever he's taking with me.

* THREE: The number of baby cribs in Cabin Fever. Two blue blankets and One pink. So is that where Boone, Charlie and Libby come up? Jack mentions them in the press conference. Why does he pick those three names?

* Are cryogenics involved? I'm just asking!!

Important facts:
* WAKE UP! They're always being told to Wake up!
* Yes, THEY ARE BEING WATCHED!!
* What is real and what is not?
* Eye color changes.
* Penny's boat the "SEARCHER" has no port city on it.
* Sayid spent time in France yet couldn't understand Danielle's 16 year loop recording in French. Why?
* Desmond and Juliet on the island 3 years. Coincidence? HA!
* According to the Blast Door Map, The Medical Station was abandoned in 1985. So how is Claire in the medical station with Ethan?
According to Hanso, D.I. was canceled in 1987 (funding cut).
Shut down 10.28.84. The Purge- 12.19.1992
Other Blast Door Map dates/numbers: 04.08.00, 08.15.01, 01.06.03
Kelvin and Desmond in the hatch 9.22.04
These dates show that the tests/studies never really ended.

The following is important info that I investigated while researching episode notes and previous posts.

Vocabulary...and Research...and Tid Bits...

* Agartha: is a legendary city that is said to reside in the Earth's core. It is related to the Hollow Earth theory and is a popular subject in Esotericism.
* Lost Horizon: is a 1933 novel by English writer James Hilton. It is best remembered as the origin of Shangri-La, a fictional Utopian lamasery high in the mountains of Tibet. People live a very long time, speak and understand many languages. Familiar names from the story are Rutherford, Rock and Chang.
* Imaginary friends: are pretend characters often created by children. Imaginary friends perform a tutelary function when they are engaged by the child in play activity. Imaginary friends may exist for the child into adolescence and sometimes adulthood. Imaginary friends often have elaborate personalities and behaviors. Although they may seem very real to their creators, studies have shown that children understand that their imaginary friends are not real.
* Simulated reality: is the proposition that reality could be simulated perhaps by
computer simulation to a degree indistinguishable from "true reality. In its strongest form, the "simulation hypothesis" claims it is probable that we are actually living in such a simulation. This is different from the current, technologically achievable concept of virtual reality.
* Virtual reality: is easily distinguished from the experience of "true" reality; participants are never in doubt about the nature of what they experience. Simulated reality, by contrast, would be hard or impossible to distinguish from "true" reality.
* Psychology and parapsychology, an apparition is an anomalous, quasi-perceptual experience. The term "ghost" implies that some element of the human being survives death and, at least under certain circumstances, can make itself perceptible to living human beings.
* Laboratory: (lab)-A facility that provides controlled conditions in which scientific research, experiments and measurement may be performed. Scientific labs can be found in schools, universities, industry, government or military facilities, and even aboard ships and spacecraft.
* "Mind's eye:" refers to the human ability for visual perception, imagination, visualization, and memory or, in other words, one's ability to "see" things with the mind.
* "Third eye": is a metaphysical and esoteric concept referring in part to the ajna (brow) chakra in certain Eastern and Western spiritual traditions. It is also spoken of as the gate that leads within to inner realms and spaces of higher consciousness.
* The map is not the territory: is a remark by Alfred Korzybski, Korzybski's dictum ("The map is not the territory") is also cited as an underlying principle used in neuro-linguistic programming, where it is used to signify that individual people in fact do not in general have access to absolute knowledge of reality, but in fact only have access to a set of beliefs they have built up over time, about reality. So it is considered important to be aware that people's beliefs about reality and their awareness of things (the "map") are not reality itself or everything they could be aware of ("the territory").
* Neuro-linguistic programming: (usually shortened to NLP) is an interpersonal communication model and an alternative approach to psychotherapy.
* Imagination as a reality: The world as experienced is an interpretation of data arriving from the senses, as such it is perceived as real by contrast to most thoughts and imaginings. This difference is only one of degree and can be altered by several historic causes, namely changes to brain chemistry, hypnosis, altered states of consciousness, meditation, many hallucinogenic drugs, and electricity applied directly to specific parts of the brain.   The difference between imagined and perceived real can be so imperceptible as to cause acute states of psychosis.  Many mental illnesses can be attributed to this inability to distinguish between the sensed and the internally created worlds.   Some cultures and traditions even view the apparently shared world as an illusion of the mind as with the Buddhist, Maya or go to the opposite extreme and accept the imagined and dreamed realms as of equal validity to the apparently shared world as the Australian Aborigines do with their concept of dream time.
* The Minka Bird is a creature featured in Aboriginal dream time stories. According to the Aboriginals, the sighting of the Minka Bird foretells certain death.
* Astral projection: (or astral travel) is an esoteric interpretation of an out-of-body experience achieved either awake or via lucid dreaming or deep meditation.
* Teleportation: is the movement of objects from one place to another, more or less instantaneously, without traveling through space. The concept has been widely used in science fiction. It should not be confused with quantum teleportation.
* Parapsychology: (Greek "alongside" + psychology) -study of ostensibly paranormal events including ESP, psycho kinesis, and survival of consciousness after death. Parapsychologists call these processes psi, a term intended to be descriptive without implying a mechanism. Parapsychology is a fringe science because it involves research that does not fit within standard theoretical models accepted by mainstream science. Para psychological research involves laboratory research and fieldwork, which is conducted at privately funded laboratories and some universities around the world. Experiments conducted by para psychologists have included the use of random number generators to test for evidence of psycho kinesis, sensory-deprivation.
* Ganzfeld experiments: to test for ESP, and research trials conducted under contract to the United States government to investigate the possibility of remote viewing.
* Zener cards: cards used to conduct experiments for ESP, most often clairvoyance. Perceptual psychologist Karl Zener designed the cards in the early 1930s. There are just 5 different Zener cards: a hollow circle (one curve), a Greek cross (two lines), three vertical wavy lines (or "waves"), a hollow square (four lines), and a hollow five-pointed star. There are 25 cards in a pack, 5 of each design.

* The 8-Circuit Model of Consciousness: is a theory of consciousness first proposed by psychologist Timothy Leary.  It models the mind as a collection of 8 "circuits", with each circuit representing a higher stage of evolution than the one before it.

* The Fly: was a brig of 100 tons that sailed from Calcutta India on 14 May 1802 bound for Sydney, Australia. It was carrying a cargo of 4000 gallons of spirits and was commanded by John Black. It was never heard of again.

* Folie à deux: (literally, "a madness shared by two") is a rare psychiatric syndrome in which a symptom of psychosis (particularly a paranoid or delusional belief) is transmitted from one individual to another. The same syndrome shared by more than 2 people may be called folie à trois, folie à quatre, folie à famille , folie à plusieurs (madness of many)

* Bernard Trevisan: (Bernard of Treviso, Bernardus Trevisanus) refers to one or more Italian alchemists. These are often confused, or more accurately the name may refer to a shadowy figure or figures.

* Mahâbhûta: is Pali for the "Great Elements." The 4 Great Elements (Pali: cattâro mahâbhûtâni) are earth, water, fire and air. Mahâbhûta is generally synonymous with catudhâtu, which is Pâli for the "4 Elements."   In early Buddhism the 4 Elements are a basis for understanding and for liberating oneself from suffering.

* A form constant: is one of several geometric patterns which are recurring, observed during hallucinations and altered states of consciousness.

* The Panopticon is a type of prison building designed by English philosopher Jeremy Bentham in 1785. The concept of the design is to allow an observer to observe (-opticon) all (pan-) prisoners without the prisoners being able to tell whether they are being watched, thereby conveying what one architect has called the "sentiment of an invisible omniscience." Bentham has said this is obtaining power of mind over mind, in a quantity hitherto without example.

* Dharma: Teachings of Buddha. The Start of the 8 fold path.
* Bardo: a Tibetan word means "Intermediate State" also translated as "transitional state" or "in-between state.
Together "six Bardos" form a classification of states of consciousness into six broad types: The Bardo of This Life, Bardo of Meditation, Bardo of Dream, Bardo of Dying, Bardo of Dharmata, and the Bardo of Existence.
Any state of consciousness can form a type of "intermediate state", intermediate between other states of consciousness. One can consider any momentary state of consciousness a Bardo, since it lies between our past and future existences; it provides us with the opportunity to experience reality, which is always present but obscured by the projections and confusions that are due to our previous unskillful actions.
The Liberation Through Hearing During The Intermediate State or Bardo Thodol is a funerary text.
The Liberation Through Hearing During the Intermediate State also mentions three other Bardos: those of "life" (or ordinary waking consciousness), of "Dhyana" (meditation), and of "dream" (the dream state during normal sleep).

Let's have some fun. You may think the picture posted above is here for a test on optical illusion, and yes it can be used in that way. But I want to use it to show perception. We obtain information about the world around us through our sensory system. Our perception is shaped by sensory input combined with experience. But perception can be tricked.

The image in the picture is permanently fixed so we can't change the lines and shapes. But our minds will organize the lines and shapes into a picture with meaning "to us". It will be different for some as opposed to others.

It is fact that perception can change as emotions change. Perception alters what we people see into a "partial version" of reality, which ultimately corrupts the way people perceive the truth.  When people view something with a preconceived idea about it they tend to take those preconceived ideas and see them whether or not they are there.  This is because humans are unable to understand new information without the inherent bias of their previous knowledge. The extent of our own knowledge/experience creates our reality as much as the truth, because the human mind can only contemplate that which it has been exposed to. The Buddhists believe "Piercing the veil of illusion." This means that our minds are shaping sensory data and we have a choice as to how we shape it.

Go back and check out my other episode clues notes for lots of details and researched items.

With the few things I mention here, along with the discussion of perception and illusion, can that be a bit of what the "islanders" are experiencing?   Combine that with all the other things noted, I.E. altered state of consciousness, medication, hypnosis, lucid dreaming. PLUS illusion, tricks, magic and razzle dazzle. Could this part of the story be telling us this is due to them being challenged/tested or taught with psychology and/or parapsychology all for the purpose of finding what you've lost?

It is possible that in all that confusion..."Up is down!"

Love to all who are "LOST" ™

Follow the Yellow Brick Road.

Let's talk about LOST!

THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME; Follow the yellow brick road.

THIS IS NOT MY USUAL DETAILED EPISODE POST! I WILL DETAIL THIS EPISODE. These are just preliminary notes and thoughts! Detailed notes will follow.

Eureka! This episode should have been called Further Instructions part 2.
Is John a farmer or a hunter?! Eko called John a hunter, but is he really a farmer? Let's recall the hallucination from the sweat lodge.
Boone tells John, "John someone in this airport's in serious danger, you are the only one who can save them". Who is he speaking about? Aaron? Jack? Here are a few other ties to that episode…
* John: Lives in a commune complete with a Green House and Sweat Lodge.
* John had Orchard duty.
* In Further Instructions, John inadvertently brings in the authorities to the farm/green house.
* Geronimo Jackson.
* Remember John is amenable for coercion.
* He was "chosen" in that episode, he is "chosen" on the "island".
* Eddie's important quote- "Your family has too many secrets".
* Ben instructs John to head NORTH. In Further Instructions Eko's stick instructs John to head North.
* RED notebook contained John's gun info. Red Folder contained the secondary protocol.
* We also have John's vision where he sees Jack getting scanned by Ben, etc.
* Hurley is behind the ticket counter entering the numbers!
* Desmond is in the Pilot uniform helping himself!

The other important tie to a previous episode is Tricia Tanaka Is Dead. Many Hurley and Mr. Reyes clues.
* Hurley and his Dad: Rabbit foot key chain.
* Hurley saved the car in T.T.I.D. Hurley's dad fixes the car.
* Hurley fired the (Trons) in Tricia Tanaka is Dead. Here he calls out for them in the house.
* Old Dharma food here- Old Dharma beer in T.T.I.D.
* Golden Jesus makes an appearance again.

There's so much more from those two episodes.

Things to note…Questions to ask…
* Jack is sleeping!
* 2 baby time line issues- Sun's 6 week or so conception gap w/Jin and Kate's lie/justification of being pregnant with Aaron.
* Sun buys Paik industries, I'm sure to find the island.
* Eko's church.
* Confirmation that Jin can speak and understand English.
* Trons. Transformers
* Cargo. The Oceanic 6 are called CARGO. "Bad Mojo."
* Claire's mom, although presumed to die, Isn't fucking dead! Imagine that!!
* Christian.
* Where's Lenny? Numbers.
* Santa Rosa.
* DOWN, DOWN, DOWN!!!
* Michael tells Sun and Jin he and Walt got picked up by ship/boat taken to an {island} etc..
* How many islands are there? Or Ships/freighters?
* Shades of blues and greens.
* Coffee.  Press. Branding. Shock.
* Raft.
* The opening of the plane ramp/hatch reminds me of a scene from Close Encounters of The Third Kind.
* Triggers.
* Images are always tied to the "island". Sounds/whispers-"ISLAND".
* Déjà vu. Broken Record.
* Mrs. Shepherd is wearing her wedding ring.
* Tracks. Tracking.
* BUGS!
* The Oceanic 6 don't look too happy to go home.
* THE STORY!!!
* 5 Parents. Oceanic 6
* Day 108
* Orchid. Temple. Church.
* Ben passes the baton to John.
* RF interference….
* There apparently is NO electromagnetic force field or "time issue" when using a zodiac raft/boat. Sayid didn't have to travel through and "bad weather" or anything. No Time delay!!
* Will we see Boone, Shannon, Eko and a few other "Dead" people soon? How about another bunch of familiar faces; Blasts from the Past!!!
* What's with you and getting off the island?" – Sawyer to Jack.

Vocabulary…and Research…
Membata: Indonesian for "doubt" or "uncertainty". I don't know. I like to think it's a dance I can do!
Pinto: Portuguese or Spanish for Baby chick.
Cargo: is a term used to denote goods or produce being transported generally for commercial gain.
Branding: Livestock branding, the marking of animals to indicate ownership.
Human branding is the process in which a mark, usually a symbol or ornamental pattern, is burned into the skin of a living person, with the intention that the resulting scar makes it permanent.

The people who live in the hills… A commune of people. Others. Is John one of them? Is Ben one of them? But please remember we learn on the "island" there are Others who don't leave tracks/footprints. Why? WTF? Can they fly? Ben didn't leave footprints in the desert. I'm just saying!!
Hello?!.... Real world…HA!  Do they ever really leave the "ISLAND"???
The oceanic 6… "Children" of the people involved. Who is the next in line to guard/watch the island? Or something even more valuable?

A really important line of dialog that jumps out at me is when Karen tells the Oceanic 6 about the Military facility-PRIVATE. "Your families are already here."  HERE. Yeah, she said HERE.

There's "no place" like home. The Wizard of Oz... Dreams...Thinking something is real when it isn't. Family... Blurred Reality! Dorothy thinks she leaves Kansas and goes to OZ, but in reality she NEVER left home. She NEVER went anywhere! It's the same thing with our cast of characters. They never go anywhere...they're always there. "No place."   Always home.
If we all only had a magic key!

Please go back and check out some very important thing I mention in two past episode clues blogs. They really pertain into this episode.

I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right! Things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either. I hate spoilers! I stand clear of reading certain sites, as to not take me off my own research.

SO IT BEGINS. MISSING PIECES 13.

Let's talk about LOST!    Missing Pieces 13:  So it Begins.

Point of view is from very low to the ground; walking through the jungle grass. {I hear what I think to be more human breathing sounds at first. There are also bird /insect/jungle sounds}
Then the panting sounds of a dog. {I think I see something, before the dog turns left to go toward the suitcase, there is a mass of gray/black straight ahead.}

The dog comes upon an open black suitcase with clothes spilled around it. The dog looks at it. There seems to be a trail of clothes. {For a second then we can hear the sound of machine/engine whizzing, and then the faint sound of woman's scream!}
Someone whistles specifically calling the dog. {You again hear the same exact machine/sound whiz- repeat/loop.}

"Christian" is standing there wearing a dark suit and both white {tennis} shoes.

"Christian"- "Come here. Come on. Come on. {Claps his hands together 2x to get the dogs attention} Come on. Good boy. Come on. Come here. Come here. Good boy. Yes."

{He squats down, holds the dogs, face/head in his hands so he can talk to the dog. The dog licks his face} "Hey. Listen. Yes. I need you to go find my son.  He's over there in that bamboo forest. Unconscious. {"Christian" darts his eyes in the direction he wants the dog to go} I need you to go wake him up. OK? OK. Go on." {The dog seems to say OK. lol}

{He sends the dog on his way}
"Christian"- "He has work to do."

Eye opens. Heavy breathing. Point of view from the ground looking up to the trees. You hear birds/insects/jungle sounds, but no sounds of chaos due to a "crash".   Jack hears something and looks to his left.   A few seconds later the dog comes upon Jack.  The dog runs past him.

GREAT MOBISODE!!! OMG!!!
I was jumping up and down! This Mobisode ROCKED! But I must tell you I was not surprised to see "Christian"!
Yes, we all know there have been times that my research and over analyzing things have been helpful and other times I'm sure certain researched items may not lead to anything… But here, with this being the last Mobisode, I was gonna get everything out of it that I could! I nit picked! So bear with me, Pleeeeeease!.....

Things to note…Questions to ask.

* I wonder if the gray/black mass we see for a second from the dog's p.o.v. is the monster or something or anything at all?   I'm noting it because something caught my eye.   Before the dog turns left to go toward the suitcase there is a mass of gray/black straight ahead. Is it is the monster? Is it Christian or connected to the monster? Or could it be connected to the dog? That's even if what I saw is really there, that is.

I listened to this Mobisode with my "listening device"so I can hear details in the background.  I'm glad I did.
* The machine/engine whizzing sound by "Christian" was a little confusing to me. In that the sound was very distant. As I listened, that sound traveled from one side to the other, as if the sound had movement, like flying over or something.   Although, it also sounded like it was looping. It could just be sounds of the plane parts from the distance.  Could the scream be Shannon's scream? That would suck if I have to go and match up screams.  But we don't see/hear Shannon scream until Jack arrives on the beach in the pilot episode.
But just like in the pilot episode there are no sounds of chaos or "crash" and "screaming" from Jack's perspective, and Jack is fairly close to the beach.
Either way the open suitcase, clothes, dog and Jack were already on the ground. In place!

* Point of view is important here! Perception!!!

* Breathing.

* Christian is both Dark and Light. {clothing/shoes}

* Tennis- The same concept as Ping Pong. The ball gets hit back and forth over and over. Game.

* The dog was happy/comfortable to see "Christian", and "Christian" not surprised to see the dog. So they must know each other.

* "Christian" sends the dog to wake him up. "Christian" is very well aware of the condition of his son. He's not worried that he's hurt because he already knows he's not. He's unconscious/sleeping.

* How many children does "Christian" have?  Why doesn't he care about waking up his pregnant daughter, Claire?

* Point of view from the ground a couple of times, via the '"dog" and Jack.  Maybe it's a clue telling us that they were always on the ground. But what the hell do I know?!

* P.O.V. up to the trees from Jack, again, the trees aren't broken or disturbed.

* Jack woke up before the dog got to him.  The dog ran by him. Was the dog supposed to wake up Jack and Jack just woke up before the dog had a chance?  Or is the dog on his way to wake up someone else?

Vocabulary and Research...

In Chinese culture, the bamboo, plum blossom, orchid, and chrysanthemum (usually, méi lán zhú are collectively referred to as the Four Noble Ones. These 4 plants also represent the 4 seasons and, in Confucian ideology, 4 aspects of the junzi "prince" or "noble one"). The pine tree, the bamboo, and the plum blossom (s--ng zhú méi are also admired for their perseverance under harsh conditions, and are together known as the "3 Friends in Winter". Several Asian cultures, including that of the Andaman Islands, believe that humanity emerged from a bamboo stem.

In psychology and the cognitive sciences, perception is the process of acquiring, interpreting, selecting, and organizing sensory information. It is a task far more complex than was imagined.

The most important thing here is the visual of "Christian" being there, knowing the "dog" and knowing everything that was going on.   This "action" we see is before we're even introduced to Jack.    So, is that enough proof to tell us this was all part of a planned event and "Christian" is privy to all of it?    Or is all we're seeing here one big giant ghost story?
"Christian didn't look like a ghost and the dog wasn't afraid of "Christian".    They we able to make physical contact with each other.  And no, I'm not an expert in the science of Ghost studies.  But let's also remember the casket/coffin Jack found in the caves was empty.  Did he get up and walk out of there?  Shouldn't his body still be in or near the coffin?
"Christian" on the "Island".   Yep!   Can "Christian" morph or transform?   Is he, in any form, real/or something else, where does he go or hide?

I wrote in my notes for Par Avion that Claire was told her father died when she was two.   Well obviously, his wasn't really dead.
This story is filled with people appearing or assumed dead but really are not dead. With that said…If this is really Christian we see here and not a ghost, then as I've stated before the possibility is he wasn't dead at the time of the "crash" and Flashes aren't all reality and are not in time order.   Now, throw a potential connection to the monster here, or this being a "Christian" double, then that changes things yet again.

No matter what I was not surprised to see "Christian" on the "Island".
I guess we'll have to wait and see if we're dealing with the "dead" or a powerful manipulative game playing man who is involved in some global secret or something else all together.

All I can say is, I can't friggin wait until Thursday!!!
ROCK ON! WooooooooooHoooooooooo!!!!

Disclaimer: I never claim to know everything about the show and my thoughts by no means make me right. The things I share here are my views and/or opinions. I don't claim to catch every single detail either! You all know I hate spoilers and I stand clear of reading certain sites as to not take me off my own course of research. The one thing I don't need to do here is rehash all of the obvious clues from an episode, we all know what they are. Understood? Good! Let the fun begin! I'll only note things that I know come up as clues later, but need to be noted when they first show up and things I find that will be of importance! It will get very exciting as we progress into the story.
